Edited Monochrome version (which I used my phone for).
Tumblr media
Unedited colored version.
Happy Halloween, folks. I've decided to make this little mashup of two of my favorite classic Sesame Street muppets and the defunct MAD Magazine's famous, wacky duo of spies you'd ever meet. Lord knows how this scenario is going to play out. Will the Count's prank succeed? Will Mumford use his magic to booby trap his magic hat? Or is the hat already booby trapped to begin with? I dunno. The top image as you can see is so I can stay true to the deliberately monochrome era of Spy vs. Spy. As for the colored version below, the colors of each castle, both of which belong to the duo, is based off of the classic story "The Count loses his Thunder." So yeah, for 26 years old, I tend to be a bit old school when it comes to certain details. Long live both Jerry Nelson (who originally puppeteered and voiced the Count and Mumford) and Antonio Prohias (creator of Spy vs. Spy).
I do not claim ownership of any copyrighted materials at all. Count von Count and Mumford belong to Sesame Workshop (formerly known as Children's Television Workshop) and Jim Henson's Muppets (long live Jim Henson, too). Spy vs. Spy belongs to the defunct MAD Magazine and the late, great Antonio Prohias. Hope you enjoy these pieces of art. Again, Happy Halloween. Peace.

A La Peanut Butter Soup!
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Made this for dinner tonight. It's a recipe from The Sesame Street Cookbook by Pat Tornborg & Robert Dennis, 1978.
This is the only recipe in the book I actually wanted to make. And I had some problems with it. To start with, stirring until the peanut butter melts is fairly tedious. Then, double boilers are specifically designed so that whatever's in the top won't boil--something I only remembered after the water underneath had been boiling for a while. Once I figured this out, I decided they meant the water, not the soup, reduced the heat and commenced the 10 minutes. Let me know if you think I got this wrong.
I also used onion powder instead of flakes.
It looks like this:

It tastes all right, it's just very thin. I gave up and drank it, which was awkward with the chunky bits. I feel this soup needs more peanut butter.
Here's a random photo of some things my dad carved for me:

ep of the show i like last night had dink's song / fare thee well (sung beautifully by rob benedict) and got me looking into it and marcus mumford and oscar isaac sang it together for inside llewyn davis, there's a variety of performances they've done together but this one is really beautiful with the punch brothers
marcus has such a big voice i think oscar gets a little lost in this format (in all the recordings i've listened to), but they do blend nicely

Muppet Fact #342
The Amazing Mumford is Count von Count's neighbor. The Count's castle is the orange one on the left and the Amazing Mumford's castle is the pink one on the right.
