It is a rusty metallic foldable chair that you sit on that squeaks and creaks even with the slightest movement. You try to readjust your posture — definitely not sure if you should sit up straight with your back against the dusty chair or with your hands folded neatly on the edge of the devil’s table in front of you. In fact, you’re not sure whether or not you are supposed to touch the devil’s office desk, so you choose to lead with the prior option. And the metal chair reacts, drawing out a long and uncomfortable creeeeak as you shift your weight backward. 
Maybe you were just lucky last time, led by the Devil to believe that maybe you were worthy of being somebody special in this vast world. In this underworld where the universe’s menagerie of creatures visit with last hopes of finding a solution, you are finally coming to a conclusion that you’re only but a speck of dust in a world that knows no bounds. 
The small office room feels humid and stuffy; its previously supposedly beige wallpapers are now a darker shade of brown that peels in large patches to reveal dirty and white painted-over bricks. Splotches of mold line the edges of the patches, and you find yourself wishing that mold spores aren’t a thing that exists in Hell. But it’s Hell, and anybody who dealt with mold before knows that the process of treating mold is basically hell. The navy colored carpet looks old and worn out. Several flat and black pieces of gum stick to it, already dried and surprisingly shiny in color. 
On the desk and pushed to the corner is an old and vintage PC, the kind with the square monitors and the back that protrudes outwards. You can feel the heat from the computer console blow against your skin and leave a faint burnt metallic scent in its wake. Not sure what to do or if you’re supposed to do anything, you sit in silence as the devil behind the computer screen slowly types and moves his mouse on top of his mousepad to fill out the information he has in the giant manilla folder spread out in front of him. 
You retract your lips inwards and bite the gummy and smooth underside of your lips while you stare at the stack of business cards pointed toward you. Craig. His name is Craig with no last name. Demon. So you’re wrong. He’s neither a devil nor is he the Devil with a capital “D” whom you were previously introduced to. He’s just office worker Craig, the demon you were assigned today. 
“Do you think it’s too stuffy in here?” He asks you while lifting his mouse from the mousepad before setting it back down to readjust the roller ball underneath. Not once does he turn to look at you or make eye contact with you.
“A little,” you reply feeling awkward and a bit burdened by the question for almost no reason at all. 
He nods his head while tracing his long and crooked finger against a line on the stack of papers in front of him before typing in the data in his computer. He sniffs and snorts his phlegm while clearing his throat. It was just small talk; there is no way an office worker in Hell would care about your wellbeing. You find yourself wondering if central cooling is a thing in Hell while trying to peek at the contents of your surprisingly large folder with no avail.
This room, this office worker, this situation…none of this is the same as the beautiful and luxurious office space you imagined stepping in for the second time. Long gone is the plush gray Persian rug and the mahogany desk that belongs to the owner himself. And your large file that is spread out before the demon you’re assigned, you cannot help but think about the event or even events that could have possibly added to the flimsy pieces of paper the Devil flipped through when he first met you. And the thought of Craig reading your file only causes your face to heat up in embarrassment. 
“Um.” You force yourself to break the awkward silence. “May I use the restroom before we start? You still haven’t asked me what I’m here for, and I think I accidentally came under the assumption that I would be assigned to the same person. I’ll be quick in case you need me immediately.” 
“Down the hall,” the demon mumbles while hunching his back to allow himself to squint closely at the screen in front of him. 
Picking yourself up from your seat, you basically fling yourself out of the office while thinking about the fresh air that awaits you in the hallway. No thoughts about the demon nor suspicions regarding the fact that the demon didn’t really point you towards a particular route to the restroom floated in your mind. Coming here was a mistake, and you are willing to face any repercussions for walking out of a meeting with a demon if it means having to save yourself from the embarrassment of having that demon read your file regarding your previous request with the Devil. 
However, what awaits you on the other side of the door isn’t the hallway from which you entered the office you were in. Instead, you find yourself in an oddly familiar bedroom. Light navy blue floor-length curtains cover the window with their original pleats from when it was first purchased about a year ago still intact. Pushed against the window is the full-sized bed with the orange-stained wooden headboard and the mess of frost blue blankets haphazardly strewn on the mattress. The soft and rotund tiger plush lays threateningly close to the edge of the bed, able to be toppled over even with the slightest movement on the mattress. 
The owner of this bedroom is in the middle of it all. Kwon Soonyoung kneels on his bed with his legs spread and his ass up. He already looks so fucked out. His left cheek is pressed against his mattress while he looks back at you with his hands tied behind his back. The position he’s in doesn’t seem comfortable at all, but his expressions, demeanor, and soft whimpers coming out of his mouth digress. 
“Please,” he practically begs you from his pitiful position. You can see how his lean thighs tremble while he struggles against his restraints. He wails with such desperation, “I want it. I want it so badly,” so much that it almost sounds as if he is going to cry from your lack of action. 
You don’t realize it until now, but an object manifests itself in your hands. A thick and ribbed silicone dildo, one that you’re too familiar with, is being stroked by you unconsciously. You’re not sure if you’re allowed to be here at all. It’s not often that you find yourself in Jeon Wonwoo’s bedroom, but when you do, you’re usually near the threshold of his door. And to be sitting on his plush gray sheets, you think it feels too intrusive. Still, you’re not sure if you should move from your comfortable position despite the fact that you’re not close enough to him to enter his bedroom just to chill without him present. And the worst of all, you’re pretty sure you’re still soaked from your previous encounter with Minghao. And that you’re still definitely in hell because there is no way you would ever allow yourself to feel this close to coming on Wonwoo’s bedsheets without his permission. 
Two soft knocks on the door diverts your attention to the closed door. 
“Yn,” Wonwoo's deep and tender voice calls your name from the other side of the door. “Is everything okay? I’m coming in.”
The thing is, this occurrence with Wonwoo had never happened before. You’re stuck in a scenario far different from the other two. So, you shouldn’t be as surprised as you are when you saw him walk through his bedroom door. Instead of the tall and built housemate that you sometimes find yourself secretly fawning over, is the sinister yet charming man you haven’t seen in ages. 
Yoon Jeonghan steps into your housemate’s bedroom with the irresistible charm of his while flaunting an oversized black t-shirt whose sleeves almost touch his elbows. The Devil is here, and he knows everything that you’ve been hiding from him.

" josiah ? " you peer over your co-worker's shoulder, highly interested in what his computer screen was displaying. you weren't all that much of a rule breaker and stuck to your usual work 'program', that being an office organizational website thing. and so watching josiah fool around was a little odd to you
he gave you a hum in response, turning toward you with a blank expression on his face. he held another gaming device in his hands, more focused on that rather than the game on his pc.
you motion your head toward his screen, a questioning look on your face. it wasn't that you were angry he was slacking off, no, you were just too curious to not say a word. it seemed like a very violent game, nothing that really suited your taste
"oh. this." josiah lazily turned his swivel chair toward the desk, setting the handheld device in his lap safely. in just a few clicks, josiah found himself in the main menu, displaying the title full view for you. "you wanna play?" a small smile formed in one corner of his lips, being more of a grin.
you quickly nod your head no, not enjoying the previews you've seen so far. there was a whole lotta blood and shooting, not your thing. "you sure?" you noted his voice was really soft. just a little observation, nothing meaningful.
his calm demeanor made you feel more comfortable, but you knew that regardless you'd probably mess up his rank or something; you weren't too good at FPS games. that being said, you hesitantly declined his offer
josiah shrugged, lifting up the smaller portable device, showing you the screen. it was a puzzle-like game, and while still not your favorite, it was way more playable for you. "it's called undertale." you walk closer to his desk, pulling up an extra swivel chair in front of him.
he gently hands you the device, guiding you on how to play the game properly. it was black and white with a little skeleton dead center of the screen. looking below the skeleton, you pick the least violent option, being MERCY.
josiah praised you for picking the correct option, instructing you when you needed it. his deep voice made you feel a little something, but that wasn't your current focus
"that was fun, but my break just ended five minutes ago." you let out a little chuckle, handing josiah his property back. as you exchanged the device, your fingers brushed against his for a second
and god his hands were... a bit soft. unexpectedly.
you blush at the sudden contact, not daring to look at your colleage. but, if you had to guess, he was a little smug with your obvious flushed reaction
it was very hard to hide...
"enjoy your work." josiah said sarcastically as you quickly scooted away back to your desk in the corner, facing forward to his cubicle.
slight curiousity struck you and you decided to peer over the top of your booth
your eyes met his own, catching him staring right up at you.
it was humiliating, to say the least. you quickly sat back down despite the loud noise your chair made and aggressively put your head in your hands, sighing out of frustration
you fall in love way too easily for your own good.

'Cottages and Cerberus' is a new cottagecore monster-hunting TTRPG system.   Inspired by games such as Animal Crossing, Harvest Moon, and Monster Hunter, you and your group of friends will live out your lives day to day in a cottage in a fantasy realm. You will hunt vicious monsters to gain materials and improve your cottage. The Core Rulebook includes 50+ monsters to hunt and slay, and each monster  comes with a hunt that is taken before the true fight can begin.
As part of this campaign we are offering special bestiaries for Pathfinder 2E and the D&D 5E. These bestiaries will be available as both PDFs and as a softcover book. Both are available individually in their own tier and also as add-ons.

Pick up and Play
Cottages & Cerberus is a cottagecore monster-slaying tabletop RPG. The game is simple to pick up but hard to put down. The base rules can be learned in minutes, and since each monster has a hunt— a mini adventure that leads up to the boss fight– you can pick one and start running within minutes. Quickstart characters found in the back of the book reduce the friction of having too many character choices, so players can just choose one and go. But, for those who want to nerd out creating your character and load out, you can spend hours picking the perfect abilities for your character. The rules are easy enough to learn quickly, but varied enough to support a vast array of complex and unique characters.

The core of the system involves making checks. When attempting a check, characters roll a number of six-sided dice based on their attributes and circumstances. The GM will then set a target number, determining how difficult the check is. Players will count the number of dice that rolled the target number or higher and then consult the chart below.

Spoons 
Spoons are the key resource system in C&C. They are an abstraction of a character's physical and mental capacity. The spoon resource system was inspired by the Spoon Theory, an abstract model created by Christine Miserandino that attempts to explain the energy cost of certain actions for people with chronic pain/illness and mental health conditions. Failing checks and being attacked by monsters cost players spoons, as do some abilities.

Cozy Mode 
While in Cozy Mode, you can make checks to do things such as fishing, gardening, crafting, and more. Success grants you Cozy Points. Gain enough Cozy Points and Miss Luna, the goddess of the Moon, will increase your Cottage Rank. In addition, the book presents an optional PC+NPC romance subsystem that is explicitly meant to emulate romance elements found in farming/life sim games.

Character creation in C&C is very simple but rich.  Character creation consists of 4 steps: assign your CALM, chose 3 ABILITIES, pick a VIBE and chose either a MAGIC ITEM or a PET

CALM
CALM refers to your attributes. These 4 scores (CHARM, ALCHEMY, LORE, and MUSCLE) range from 1 to 4 at character creation. Whenever you make a check, you roll a number of dice equal to one of these attributes.

Abilities 
Next you chose 3 abilities from the over 200 abilities in the book. ABILITIES can have several tags. Abilities with labels like <ACTION> or <REACTION> are powerful combat-focused skills, while tags like <PASSIVE> or <POWER> denote abilities that offer creative, character-focused uses in and out of combat.

Vibes 
VIBES are the general energy your character gives off. Each vibe offers a way to restore spoons.

Pet or Magic item 
Magic Items can grant various benefits. Pets are fully loyal creatures that are controlled by the player. They have a miniature stat block and can be used both in and out of combat.

If all of these character options feel overwhelming, don't worry! The book offers  options that can help you build your character. The back of the book also contains several quick start characters.

Cozy Calling 
The book also presents an optional system called Cozy Callings. Each Cozy Calling includes a bit of lore and questions to help you write your backstory. They also include recommended abilities, and abilities written specially for that Calling (but available to all characters). Cozy Callings are optional, you can take several Callings or take none. A Cozy Calling is merely a starting point for creating your character. Cozy Callings in the book include concepts such as the Cheerleader and the Spell Knight.

Hunting mode is the a core part of the game loop in Cottages & Cerberus. After defeating a monster, players gain new materials that they can use to craft items for their cottage. There are over 50 monsters to slay in Cottages & Cerberus. Each monsters contains an hunt, a miniature adventure consisting of anywhere from 1 to 5+ scenes and minor challenges that must be completed in order to face the fearsome beast.
Quick and Brutual Boss Fights 
Fights in C&C are meant to be brutal, intense, but quick. These monster fights are explicitly meant to be BOSS fights, and the rules for combat are built to emulate intense battles. The monster starts each fight with an OPENER before its first real turn. Afterwards, it's the players turn. Players decide among themselves what order they want to take their actions. After all players have gone, the monster activates CLOSER abilities that auto-target based on which character(s) meets  certain conditions.  (As an example, one monster might have an ability that deals damage to the character with the most spoons).

Each monster also has challenges. Challenges come in two varieties. Hook Challenges offer plot hooks related to the monster. Variation Challenges represent subspecies of the monster that alter its ecology, lore and abilities.

2024-03-29: dhewm3 1.5.3
"Just in time for the Easter weekend, dhewm3 1.5.3 is done!
This brings (the often-requested) support for gamepads, as long as they’re supported by SDL2. This includes XBox Controllers (and compatible ones), Playstation 3-5 controllers, Nintendo Switch Pro Controllers, many thirdparty controllers for those consoles, and lots of other gamepads for PC. See the Configuration documentation for how to make make it work (well, basically you can just plug in your gamepad and configure bindings in the Controls menu, but I also provide configs with default bindings that you could use). Furthermore, dhewm3 now supports taking screenshots in different formats: TGA (like before), BMP, JPEG and PNG. Last but not least, there were several bugfixes and other small improvements, see the list below for details.
You can download dhewm3 1.5.3 at Github (incl. builds for Windows and 64bit Linux for both dhewm3 and the supported mods).
Changes since 1.5.2:
Support for gamepads (based on code from Quadrilateral Cowboy, but heavily expanded). See Configuration.md for more information.
Support different file formats for screenshots by setting the r_screenshotFormat CVar (0 = TGA, still the default, 1 = BMP, 2 = PNG, 3 = JPG). r_screenshotJpgQuality and r_screenshotPngCompression allow configuring how JPG/PNG are compressed. Thanks eezstreet (Nick Whitlock)!

The game is going to be a small, story-focused retro role-playing game (PC only) heavily inspired by Fanime Quest, which was also another fanime game published in 2017. Your character can appear in-game as a potentially recruitable side character! How cool is that?

Rules, Notes & Permissions
Same as last time, the character you submit through the form listed below must be yours in ownership. If you'd like to enter a character made by a different creator, permission is required (+ screenshot as proof when asked for).
The main story has been set in stone, and we're only looking for cameos. Please don't request any of your characters to become central to the plot!
Only send us 3 characters at maximum. The people who can edit this form have the right to delete your newer entries if you spam more than that!
Your character must have appeared in at least 1 published preview of a fanime episode. Works in progress are also acceptable, but do have sufficient proof on hand that you are currently working on said project (scripts, final character designs, storyboards, etc. are good enough).
You retain the rights and ownership of your character. The reason why there's so many questions in the form is that we want to portray their traits in-game as best we can!
Our current team is small and the final game will be FREE so please be patient with us if work takes way too long!
Any applicant who is rude or disrespectful to our staff, have forged false proof of content, or have submitted someone else's character without their permission will be blacklisted.

Applications close at March 1st, 2024 (EST). We will choose over 10 entries.

I would just like to preface this post by saying that it's going to be quite a long one. I did this all over the space of a couple of days on a shitty laptop, so I'm sorry if it's not up to my previous standards 😅

An anon requested for me to convert the rest of the Cottage Living farm animals. Here you go, anon!
Keep in mind that these are very high-poly. I'm talking about, like, as high as 6000 polys, last time I checked? These are the debug Cow, Rooster (which I renamed a chicken, because the hen is literally identical?), Rooster Chick, and European Robin from The Sims 4: Cottage Living.
There's a slight catch: these are debug models after all, and well, as we all know, Sims 4 debug stuff tends to either be way too big, or way too small, or way too blurry, etc. In this case, the chicken and chicks and robins have their wings sticking up in a T-pose, like this:

Not exactly the cutest. I tried to fix it, but I think it only really made it worse. The cow's tail got fixed to my best ability, though. As for the chicken, you can't really tell from the side, I guess...?

Next up, have some wild animals! I suppose that the European Robin technically counts as a wild animal... but these were the only ones that had 'wild' in their name in SFS. Plus, I really like how the preview looks, okay?
These are the Wild Fox and Wild Rabbit from the same EP. Not as high-poly as I expected, but they're cutting the 'hair' line pretty darn close.
Also, these have neighborhood decor versions! I couldn't see the farm animals just wandering in the wilderness around town, so I made up for that with these! Now every forest you build can have a little fox peeking out. Assuming your PC doesn't explode first, at least.

Is this common in fandoms? On one side we have a small group of bloggers that create, dedicate, and reblog CB’s abdominal area in virtually every published photo available as proof of her multiple pregnancies. Others seek out photos of SH to prove their theory that his legs are too skinny for his long too muscled torso. These same people that criticize SH body seem to have a problem that he appears shirtless in roles where the script calls for him to be shirtless. He can’t possibly be considered a serious actor. He couldn’t or wouldn’t ever be considered as the new Bond. Serious actor’s never appear shirtless. Well consider this- every actor that has portrayed Bond appears shirtless at some point in every movie. Daniel Craig on the beach anyone? Shall we begin to list every “serious actor” that has appeared shirtless in multiple movie roles? Does anyone really believe the actor that will be chosen the new Bond won’t be fit? Yet for some reason SH is held to a different standard.Who was that actor from Bridgerton that is considered a leading contender for the new bond? Was he shirtless at any point in that series? I’m beginning to wonder if those bloggers that pounce on every opportunity to critique every single picture, post, SM or media post are deep down SH admirers? Or at the very least derive some kind of pleasure looking at photos or film of SH’s body. Don’t some people really only hurt the ones they love? 🤣 For those of us that are card carrying members of the I❤️SH club😉 it seems we spend less time defending SH than those who search SM looking for “proof” trying to bring us to the other side. Meanwhile enjoy shirtless SH sucking in his stomach as he stares at the beautiful PC in bed as part of the previews for their new film. 🤭

Week 9 - Preparing a 3D Scan for Printing

Pre-Class: Watching Andrew Simpson's video gave me a better insight into the importance of prototypes and models when creating a product and his mention of using different materials to recreate the size and weight made me realize I never took the weight into account. Although blue foam is a good way to recreate the shape, it is way lighter than the final product which is made up of glass filled up with liquid. As such, it gave me the idea to create my next model out of clay as it is closer in weight and still allows a high level of moldability.
Part 1 - Scanning & Meshing
This week was a fun way to learn how different software programs interact with each other and help produce a model for 3D printing. One main thing I learnt was that using a 2015 MacBook to run Rhino and 3ds Max is an insane choice and possibly an inventive way to cause an explosion.
After many failed attempts to boot both programs, I gave up and decided to complete this exercise at home as I had a stronger WiFi connection and a PC with (way) better specs.
Onto the actual work! After the lovely staff of the MCIC helped me scan my perfume bottle model into a 3D scan saved as an .stl file. [F.1] I got to opening it in Rhino and applying a quad remesh as this allows easier manipulation of the model in 3ds Max. [F.2] As someone who used Rhino previously it was comforting to be using a familiar program and had no issue completing this part.

Part 2 - Orientation & Modification
After last week, I dedicated myself to watching tutorial videos on 3ds Max throughout the week so as to get more affiliated with the program which really paid off during this exercise. Once I had the file prepared, I imported it to the program and quickly dealt with the orientation. [F.3]

The modification got a bit tricky after this though as my model had a few bumps around the surface caused by my nails which is less than ideal. The smoothing tool was a great help when combating this issue and luckily the dents were not too deep. I also used the symmetry tool to ensure my front and back view were identical. However, the mirror tool was really tricky to orientate as it is harder to view and the program was lagging heavily. I will look into better options to combat this issue as the lagging should not have occurred at all. Once the model looked ready to print, I saved and exported the file and moved on to Cura. [F.4]

Part 3 - Preparing for 3D Printing
With the file ready to go, once it was uploaded to Cura the rest was quite straightforward. I ensured the scaling of the bottle was right and made sure all the edges were nice and smooth. I then sliced it and my model is ready to print. As I do not have access to the printing services right now, I unfortunately cannot print my model but I could at least preview what it would have looked like. [F.5]

Bonus - Carl Update
Since this exercise did not take too long to complete and I was looking to implement something fun, I remembered how on my previous weekly post I had mentioned that I wished to learn how to 3D print the friend I made, Carl the Capybara. So I decided to do so!
With a quick tutorial, I learnt how to merge together Carl into a singular poly mesh on 3ds Max which meant he was ready for exporting! Once exported, I uploaded him onto Cura and scaled him to a friendly keychain-like size. [F.6]

Once sliced, I realised I should add support beams for the stomach and do an infill to ensure the printing result would be sturdy. Once done, Carl was ready to print! [F.7]

This week was a fun small activity and I really hope to print off Carl once I am back on campus as a great reminder of what this class has taught me and the progress I have made. He shall keep me company on my desk at home :)

ODT was an action game that released on PlayStation and PC. An N64 version was in development, but was cancelled. N64 gave a little blurb saying that it was due to Psygnosis having financial issues (not long after, they were absorbed into Sony), although N64 magazine stated “Not much of a loss as far as ODT’s concerned. Shame about F1, though”.
When a ROM was eventually found, the most surprising thing was that the N64 version was finished, and there were even specific NTSC and PAL versions of the game. However, the poor reception on PlayStation and PC combined with the cost of making cartridges probably influenced the decision to not release it.

ODT is a game clearly inspired by Tomb Raider, but set in a futuristic Jules Verne sci-fi mashup (your ship is called the Nautiflyus, which is just stupid). However, it completely lacks any charm, clever level design or fun that the Tomb Raider games had. Instead, it settles for clunky, low and tedious.
The controls would have been bad when it came out (as reviews on other platforms point out), and feel even worse now. Movement has you turning left and right with the analogue stick, holding a c button to slowly sidestep. The camera does not play nice at all, always at an odd angle behind you, to the point where you can’t see holes or gaps (in the image below, the “floor” has massive gaps) with no way to manipulate it. In some rooms, the camera becomes fixes and the movement feels completely wrong.

The shooting is also just bad. Your gun (you do obtain different kinds of ammo that act differently) sort of homes in on enemies, but not very well and the manual aiming is atrocious. The game also starts off with bat-like enemies that are the most difficult to hit.
There is a magic system in the game that does work well – hold R and press a C-button to use the assigned spell. It’s a while before you properly unlock one, so you’re already fed up before you get to use the spell system. You can also level up your characters and guns, but it’s not very interesting when the gameplay isn’t enjoyable.

The level designs also don’t help. They’re maze-like and mostly made up of small box rooms. You wander around, killing enemies, come to a locked door, backtrack, find a key, go back to the locked door and repeat far too many times. It does sometimes mix it up by having a switch instead of a key. While good games lock the entrances to areas, this game just locks the end, letting you progress through multiple long winding paths before letting you know you went the wrong way 20 minutes ago.
The levels also have platforming sections. With the poor camera and the terrible jumping (sometimes your main character jumps too short) they’re bad enough, but the game then adds crumbling platforms and moving platforms, which the controls aren’t equipped to begin with. To make matters worse, you can get through a gruelling platform section only to encounter a locked door, and you need to go all the way back.

ODT certainly had ideas of ambition. There are multiple characters to play as (including unlockable ones), the magic and upgrade systems are potentially good ideas and the world could be interesting if it wasn’t so ugly. They tried to to far too much with the controls that they ended up sacrificing the main movement of the game.
Sadly, ODT is a game with promise that just ended up squandering it inside far too much tedium.
With a CV comprising adidas Power Soccer and, er adidas Power Soccer International, Psygnosis’ French studio hasn’t got the most dazzling of gaming histories. However, with the fantastic ODT, it’s fortunes are about to take a rather rosy upturn.

Should it be finished?
It was! N64 owners certainly didn’t miss out on anything by this version being cancelled, but it is interesting to see the finished port.
Official ways to get the game.
The PC and PlayStation versions are available on Steam, however, I do not recommend these at all. This is from PIKO Interactive. The PC version is just a re-release of the original, no resolution/widescreen options. The game crashes a lot and the music flat out doesn’t work. The PlayStation version is set up poorly in an emulator (the Steam reviews even suggest using the ROM in a different emulator).
PIKO have said that their license includes the unfinished N64 version but, like Glover, don’t expect much other than an overly expensive release with Limited Run games.

I'm actually kind of concerned for the FF14 graphics update because I have a mid-level, dedicated gaming PC and the current game version already makes it run kinda hot. With my small room setup and lack of good aircon, the patch might make the game too hot to play in the summer. (Ever notice all my summer projects were either sprite games or 20+ year old emulation?)
I also know a lot of people are playing the game off of older hardware. So I know it's about to get even harder if not impossible for them.
Just saying, but there's a reason World of Warcraft lets you tone down the graphics settings so much it practically looks like a PS1 game. (At least that was a thing when I tried it). It's so that everyone, regardless of PC strength, is capable of playing. "Just buy a PS5" (to continue to have access to a game you already own), like what they joked about in the preview, is a bad attitude actually.

The story trailer for The Expanse: A Telltale Series has just dropped ahead of the launch of Episode 1, revealing the chaotic life and difficult choices of Camina Drummer. Of all the characters in The Expanse, Camina Drummer is the one who’s remained the most mysterious. While other protagonists have been given backstories – or at least glimpses into their past – Drummer’s background has largely been a big question mark. Until now. Enter The Expanse: A Telltale Series. It might be 18 months since one of the best sci-fi TV shows based on books came to an end with season six, but The Expanse is still very much alive in the eyes of Telltale Games. Perhaps it’s a strangely befitting match: Telltale Games, itself a studio that shuttered only to be brought back from death, reviving a canceled show. The Expanse: A Telltale Series isn’t the mythical seventh series, however. Instead, it’s a prequel, focusing on the life of Drummer long before we met her as Tycho Station’s head of security. The latest The Expanse: A Telltale Series story trailer is out, detailing the upcoming game based on the hit TV series ahead of its launch on July 27, 2023, on PlayStation, Xbox, and PC.    It’s set in 2347, several years before the events of the show, where Drummer is currently an XO of a scavenger crew under the control of Captain Cox, a surly man who has a vendetta against Drummer. Episode one, which Telltale Games recently invited us to preview at an event in Los Angeles, sets up Drummer’s current situation, and introduces us to her band of small but colorful crewmates. Among others, there are the lively and competitive Belter twins Arlen and Rayan, Kahn the short-tempered pilot, and energetic Maya. They’re all new characters written for the game and, unfortunately, the first episode doesn’t give us much time to truly get to know any of them. Telltale Games might not exactly be the same studio it was before reforming, but it’s still operating similarly. This means that The Expanse is to be an episodic release, like previous titles, with five episodes coming to PC and console every two weeks starting on July 24, 2023. The first episode is surprisingly short – even after exploring off the beaten path a fair bit, we still had the credits roll in around one hour. A switch for the microphone to mute it, and a volume control that could be bigger.

The controls are located on the left earpiece. But this is only for cosmetic purposes, because the headphones are completely closed. It is only accentuated by a mesh grid around it. Even the manufacturer’s logo on the ear cups is simply black. The headset is completely in plain black. With the Kraken X, Razer takes a minimalist path and even renounces his own recognition feature – the colour green.
