the issue with chibi chibi being chibiusa is
1) she wouldve visited chibiusa, not Usagi, she also claims to be far beyond the 30th century, when chibiusa and Neo queen is most likely long gone
2) chibi chibi literally refers to Usagi as her "past self", the musicals make it more blatant she is a reincarnation of Usagi by outright saying so
3) Sailor Cosmos' design as well as Chibi Chibi take aspects from Sailor Moon's prototype designs and her normal/eternal design, linking them visually.
however, i can believe she's related to ChibiUsa in a great great great grand duaghter sort of way, the pink hair being an indicator of a blood descendant, but Usagi X is canonically a reincarnation of 1990s Usagi Tsukino, same as Usagi is a reincarnation Serenity (just not by blood in that case)

[Yawning, Yuuto opened his eyes and gazed his wife, who was still asleep next to him. Smiling, he pulled her a little closer and nudged the tip of his nose on her cheek.]
"Mhm... my Sleepin' Beauty~ Are you gonna slumber through the day?"
(How can anyone look so damn cute? I could watch her all day... Tho... I kinda wanna... hmmm...)
[So it turned out Yuuto couldn't wait for his wife to wake up. He brushed her wild curls, leaning in and inhaling deeply. Such a good scent, the most perfect one in the world. Chuckling happily, Yuuto pressed a smooch on Nalia's cheek.]
"Happy anniversary, my sweet little vixen~"
@yuuto-tsukino
[Grinning, Nalia ran in her fox form through her dream forest. Suddenly everything went black and a familiar voice was heard. Time for waking up...]
"Five more minutes..."
[When Yuuto's voice disappeared, the forest reappeared in front of Nalia's fox eyes. Between the branches and leaves, she could see the bright night sky.]
(Ever since I can remember, my dream forest had always been dark. The trees had grown into a kind of dome and let no light in. But when I met Yuuto, the branches started to open up more and more and turned into normal looking woods. The crushing darkness has disappeared. Hmm... I've never told him this before, but it's almost like—)
[Black again —— The voice most precious to Nalia entered her ear. Yuuto's words brought a smile to the lips of the Sleeping Beauty. Nalia squirmed a little and snuggled even closer to her husband.]
"Happy anniversary, my beloved fox."
[Slowly, the young woman opened her eyes and gazed at Yuuto with her amber-yellow orbs. Overjoyed, Nalia breathed a kiss on his lips.]
"My fox... I love you endlessly. I'm so incredibly happy that you became mine a year ago."
[Gently, the redhead brushed the kitsune's cheek before leaning her head on his chest.]
"Let's stay like this for a while..."
[Enjoying the closeness of her great love, Nalia closed her eyes and sighed happily.]

footsteps could be heard rushing around the expensive gothic styled hall inside the school, can a school be this pretty? It looks like a castle if you ask Liz, her pale gaze transferred from door to door as the students slowly turned their heads when she passed next to them, certainly, the daughter of the marquis has its charm inherited from the name she carries in her shoulders.
the Myoi clan has that look. The look that can seduce a man or a woman with just one look, and she’s also wearing a miniskirt, not to mention that the mentality in this victorian shithole is lower than grass.
but she continues, she is looking for someone, the Mukamis were they? The half bloods that were adopted by the king of all vampires, Liz’s head was on the clouds tho, as her gaze wondered around, she bumped into someone.
her chest met the petite back of a girl, Liz fell to the ground as her eyes closed.
“shit, i’m sorry” Liz said with that tired voice of hers, looking up.
"Oh my gosh!"
Yuriko took a fast step back, gazing down as heat covered her face all over. "I'm so sorry! I was on your way, wasn't I?"
Tumblr media
Bowing hastily, Yuriko tried to get a glance at the girl who had run into her. She couldn't recall seeing the girl before at school but that was no wonder. The hallways were full of new people all the time. Maybe this girl was one of the transfer students.
"Umh... Did... did you hurt yourself?" Yuriko crouched down, reaching her hand toward the girl. "Here, let me help you up."
Still a bit unsure, Yuriko tried to smile. "Are you new here? Perhaps a student? I'm sorry we met like this but... I hope you're alright? I'm Tsukino Yuriko, a third-year student. Nice to meet you."
I hope she isn't going to faint or anything... I should help her to the infirmary. The school's nurse could take care of her then. Yuriko's thoughts were whirling as she pondered what the best course of action was. Ruki wouldn't be too happy with her if she would be away for a long time but there was no way she could leave now.
"So... umh... Can I help you?"

so whenever Russian characters crop up in American/English-speaking media theres a very noticable thing where writers v often dont understand patronymics and full names.
Now, there’s two gradations of “full name” that are in use here. There is the “FIO” full name, or SGP perhaps (surname, given name, patronymic), and there is the full given name.
As an example, let’s take Ivanov Ivan Ivanovich.
Ivanov is the surname. You can tell bc of hte -ov suffix at the end. (Not the only one possible but a pretty decent indication something is a surname when it is there)
Ivan is the given name. You can tell bc Russian has a set (an expansive one) of given names and this is one of them, one of the most historically popular at that.
Ivanovich is the patronymic, it can be translated as “son of Ivan”. You can tell bc of the “ovich” suffix. There is also “evich” and for at least one name just “ich”. Colloquially they will also get shortened into just “ych” making the variation “Ivanych”. (”Y” is the letter used for transliteration of a sound that doesn’t exist in English but is considered fairly close to “i’)
To be clear, “Ivanov Ivan Ivanych” is the exact same person as “Ivanov Ivan Ivanovich”, this is hte exact same name, the only thing that changes is how formal the speaker is being about it.
Female suffixes are “evna” and “ovna”. Anna Petrovna, Anna Fadeevna. There is also “ichna” for at least one name and an antiquated “ishna” which is the colloquial alternative in some cases. Anna Fadeevna = Anna Fadeishna. This IS antiquated tho.
Coming back to our Ivanov Ivan Ivanovich, this is the “FIO” form of his name, the way it will be put on formal documents that require one’s full name. The “Ivan Ivanovich Ivanov” form is also acceptable, its just not the order you write on documents in. The patronymic (Ivanovich) always comes after the full given name (Ivan), the surname can be stuck on either side of that.
The traditional respectful address to someone you know is the full given name + patronymic. Ivan Ivanovich! Could you come over here? It’s used with plural/formal “you”. This form is also becoming obsolete in recent years but if you’re writing mid-20th-century or characters of middle age+ Ivan Ivanovich is the name to go.
(Note the difference from the address + surname form in English: Dr. Smith or Mr Smith etc. In Russian this form does not exist except several centuries back or in very very impersonal century back “citizen Ivanov” that like a policeman would use to address you. Not anyone you actually know personally. Schoolchildren will often not know their teachers’ surnames because they are all Ivan Ivanovich to them.)
Now I keep saying “Ivan” is the FULL given name. The short given name from “Ivan” is “Vanya”. This is a set linguistic fact - the set of given names in Russian is factually two linked sets, a set of full given names and a set of short given names. Some short given names can  be short from several full given names, some full given names can have several short names (a person will usually pick one to use). A short given name doesn’t go anywhere on formal documents. It just follows from your full given name naturally, like conjugation. Some full given names (Gleb, Oleg, Diana, Vera) are short enough to be used as short given names too and so don’t realy have assigned short counterparts. In fact Vera can be both a full name on its own - Ivanova Vera Ivanovna - and short for Veronica - Ivanova Veronica Ivanovna.
Short names are formed through a variety of rules. There are basic requirements for the form they take as a result though. Full given names can have “complicated” consonant pairs together: Dmitriy, Aleksandr, Pavla, Anna. Short names are “simple” will almost always go consonant-vowel. Dmitriy -> Dima, Aleksandr -> Sasha, Alik or Shura (don’t ask how that last one happened, it’s a miracle of absurdity, but it’s one of the traditional shortenings), Pavla -> Pasha (well, Pavla is a rare name, you hear Pasha and you usually assume Pavel, the male name), Anna -> Anya. (”y” is not a consonant here, “ya” is a vowel sound English doesnt really have)
(As an exception to the consonant-vowel rule, when there’s a consonant pair the second of which is “l” it’s usually kept together in the short name - it’s just very simple to the Russian ear / tongue. Vladislav - Vlad or Slava, for example)
Often a name will be formed fully from the syllables / consonants of the full name, give or take changing the last vowel to the gender neutral “a”/”ya” (It will either be “a”/”ya” or a consonant). Vladimir -> Vlad, Ruslana -> Lana, Tatiana -> Tanya, Anna -> Anya, Katerina -> Katya, Dmitriy -> Dima or Mitya, Ivan -> Vanya. And then there’s the “sha” suffix tacked on as the second syllable: Pavel -> Pasha, Natalia -> Natasha or Tasha, Daria -> Dasha, Aleksandr -> Sasha, etc.
So long as they conform to these rules, you can kind of make them up. Though considering the whole of history, you’re not super likely to make up something that hasn’t been made up before you. Anna historically speaking turns into Anya, Nyura, Nyusha... -shudders-
So how are short names actually used?
As an implication of familiarity/subordination, that’s how. For the weebs in the audience, you know the ‘-chan’ suffix in Japanese? Kind of exactly like that. Japanese has more nuances, but generally if you wouldn’t call someone -chan, you shouldn’t call them by their short name. (Unless they specifically asked you to, but I think that’s a thing in Japanese too)
Short names are never paired with patronymics. The steps of formality in address are basically “Ivan Ivanovich” => “Ivan” => “Vanya”.
(There’s also formal you, so to be completely clear: “Ivan Ivanovich” (formal you) => “Ivan” (formal you) => “Vanya” (formal you) => “Vanya” (informal you). If someone is getting called their full given name + informal you, it’s either implying antiquity - pre 20th century - or they’re using their full given name as their short given name.)
You call your children and siblings by short names. You call your friends by short names. You MIGHT call your employees, especially if they are sufficiently young, or if you’ve known them for a long time and the “familiarity” part applies, by short names.
SHORT NAMES ARE NOT FORMAL. This is important. Nobody has “Natasha” written in their passport (unless I guess they were making new documents in America or something from scratch and didn’t use any old ones as basis of establishing idenity so could make up whatever. It’s still weird! It’s like having “Johnny-boy” written in your passport!)
SHORT NAMES ARE OFTEN GENDERED BUT YOU CANNOT TELL HOW WITHOUT KNOWING THE CORRESPONDING FULL NAME. “Pasha” and “Misha” are both male names becaus they are short from “Pavel” and “Mikhail”. Of course you could have a Pavla or a Mikhaila, but the former is very rare and the latter is probably a foreign Mykaila Russianified or something. In these cases it’s usually considered normal to assume gender, even if there’s a tiny chance you could be wrong.
PATRONYMICS ARE NOT UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES INTERCHANGEABLE WITH SURNAMES. You have the same surname as your family members, but if you have the same patronymic, either you’re siblings or there are multiple people with the same given name in your immediate family, which is slightly odd. A patronymic is formed from your father’s name by unambiguous and definite rules. Foreign names can be turned into patronymics easily. (Though kids of foreign citizens can get whatever their parents want on their birth certificate - patronymic by the rules of one of the parents’ home country, no patronymic at all, whatever) Surnames are surnames and work the same way they work anywhere else.
PATRONYMICS AND SURNAMES ARE NOT CONNECTED IN ANY WAY WHATSOEVER. Any surname goes with any patronymic same as it goes with any given name. Except for the obvoius “statistically likely to be from the same culture” part. (Your “Russian” character could have Georgian, Ukrainian, Armenian, Lithuanian, Bielorussian, Kazakh, Tatar descent, descent from any number of indigenous cultures on the territory of Russia that I personally never heard about until I started translating documents in high amounts and stumbling upon them. Russia is an empire!) But even that’s just statistics - you could have a Tsukino Farha Bogdanovna and I’d just go “that’s a fascinating family history right there”.
GOOGLE RUSSIAN GIVEN NAMES, DON’T MAKE THEM UP. And pay attention if something is marked as “diminutive” - that means it’s a short name, and it will not be used on formal documents or in conjunction with a patronymic. Go for the name it’s diminutive for and just have the character ask everyone to use their short name if you want - it’s trendy these days.
There’s all kinds of fuckery going on with name use on the margins - some old people will call their close friends the “patronymic + informal you” construction. (Actually it’s a “Russian babushka” stereotype that actually exists within the culture. And if anyone ever uses the “short name + patronymic” form irl it’s this category of people, though I’d imagine only in third person) Some bosses or even teachers will invite their students to call them by their short name (I am so deeply uncomfortable with this). Age is often the difference between a Vanya and an Ivan Ivanovich in the same situation.
All patronymics and a good share of surnames conjugate by gender! “Ivanov” and “Ivanova” are the exact same surname, but a guy will have the former writen in their documents and a gal would have the latter. If you legally change your gender that letter changes too. (No, there’s no gender neutral form. Some surnames, like those ending in -enko, just don’t do this, but those that do are at all times one or the other) I guess expatriates a couple of generations down could have whatever going on, but if you have an actually-born-in-Russia “Ivanova Ivan Ivanovna” that means “Ivan” is a girl with a male name for some fucking reason. Name gendering is just tradition, patronymic gendering is grammar. (And if you have an “Ivanova Ivan Ivanovich” that’s just someone making a typo) (Maybe our hypothetical Ivanova Ivan Ivanovna transitioned and liked her birth name so much, she decided to not even go for Ivanna or something else plausible, Ivan or bust. Officials would probably just shrug and go with it lmao)
Oh, and in less formal lists and situations, surname + short given name is a classical combination. When I call my grandboss, surname + short given name is how I introduce myself, because I’m much younger and much subordinate so short name it is, but she’s under no obligation to identify me from my given name so surname it is. (To people who I expect to remember my name but who weren’t expecting me to call, just surname is good, but to people who can connect my surname with my identity but probably don’t remember my given name immediately & exactly from that, giving also the form of given name they address me by is the reasonable person thing to do)
If I were introducing myself in the “Hi! I’m Tsukino Usagi!” anime intro format, I’d go for “Short given name + surname”. Short name is usually the one people think of as their personal identity as it’s whatt their close circle will have been calling them for their entire life, and ACTUALLY it’s normal for the surname to come after the given name. In a book citation of “famous doctor X did Y” they will probably be “famous doctor fullgivenname-patronymic-surname”. For a Russian speaker, switching between Japanese name order and English name order is not a difficulty, but we WILL be distressed by not being able to tell which is which and therefore which it is on sight )=
MARVEL COMICS WALL OF SHAME
- Natasha Alianovna Romanova. First, “Romanov” is not a common surname, it’s the surname of the royal family, it’s like a random English guy being called “Tudor”. Well, it’s plausible, it IS formed by the classic “common given name + -ov” rule, but Roman isn’t even that common a name (and not exactly Russian), and... well. It’s just weird. I don’t think there’s good chances for it to have come into existence as such historically WHEN IT WAS THE RULING FAMILY SURNAME. Second! Natasha is a short name! She should be Natalia/Natalya! Third... I mean I will not say Alian is not an existing male name, and I won’t even say it’s not used in any cultures that exist within Russia, but if they were aiming for “common Russian male name” they missed 180 degrees.
- Ilyana Rasputin. First, -in is a suffix that makes this surname adjective-ish, meaning it conjugates by gender, meaning she is RASPUTINA. Her brother is Rasputin. She is Rasputina. Second, again, I have heard of exactly one (1) guy with this surname, and it’s the same guy you’re thinking of right now. It is in no way, shape or form common, or reasonable to give to a character without making it a plot point. Third, Ilyana is not a Russian name that exists. Ilya is a male name, but there’s no female form. FOURTH, I distinctly remember reading a comic where she was calling her brothers “Piotr” and “Mikhail”. That’s their full names! I mean bonus points for actually finding the full names this time, but it’s extremely weird for their LITTLE SIBLING to use them! They should be Petya and Misha as far as her own speech is concerned!
P.S. “All Night Laundry” is a fantastic webcomic, but “Grandimir” is not a real name, “Grand” is not a Russian word root and will not be used in a name this way, you’re looking for “Velimir” or somethng (though that’s, like, a thousand years antiquated). Also while both the uncle and the nephew having the “Petrovich” patronymic is not that odd, Petr is not THAT rare a name and maybe their brother/father was Petr Petrovich... considering we never learn their surname, I seriously suspect the writer just confused a patronymic with a surname. Also, naming their dog the same name crosses the line into slightly weird. Who names a dog after their father? This is actually what prompted this...

Reverse StrawberryMoon Headcanons
@sanchoyo
A little early Christmas gift for you! Because you understand my StrawberryMoon Love!
Now what if Reverse StrawberryMoon? Well StrawberryMoon is the term @sanchoyo came up with the pairing between Ichigo Momomiya from Tokyo Mew Mew and Usagi Tsukino from Sailor Moon. Now the reverse is what if the Senshi switched with Mews Mews.
Now onto the character establishment
Senshi as Mew Mews
Usagi Tsukino as Mew Mooncake (credit to @sanchoyo as well) being infused with an Amami Rabbit
Ami Mizuno as Mew Blueberry being infused with a Finless Porpoise
Rei Hino as Mew Pepper being infused with Carrion Crow or Collared Crow
Makoto Kino as Mew Melon (specifically sour melon) infused with Lar Gibbon (tho if even of y'all have better ones please share)
Minako Aino as Mew Honey being infused with Tsushima (Amur) Leopard Cat
Luna and Artemis both replace Ryou and Keiichiro respectively and both transform like Ryou but stay in their human forms
Mamoru does take the place of Masaya, but still with the same dynamic of light teasing (like Crystal style)
Since Tokyo Mew Mew is like one season, the villains are Sailor Moon season 1 villains
Mew Mews as the Senshi
Ichigo Momomiya as Sailor Moon
Minto Aizawa as Sailor Venus because of the high life style that Aphrodite usually displays
Lettuce Midorikawa as Sailor Mercury because of the water based attacks
Pudding Huang as Sailor Jupiter because of the wood based attacks of Jupiter and similar lifestyles
Zakuro Fujiwara as Sailor Mars because of the fire based transformations
Ryou and Keiichiro are still human, but have to hide their moon marks
Masaya is Tuxedo Mask, but it's a blue tuxedo
Masha is a cat like Diana and stays in cat form
The villains are always changing but follow their equivalent of Deep Blue being Chaos. Kisshu, Pai, Taruto are the most villains. They create Chimera and main villain hop
Headcanons!
Ichigo and Usagi meet as civilians first! Usagi is still a late mess because fun fact bunnies are daytime sleepers being more active at night.
Ichigo bumps into her when Usagi runs into her by accident. However Ichigo reminds Usagi that they didn't have school. Usagi's sleep schedule went so far off she forgot what day it was
Ichigo hears her stomach growl and offers to buy her lunch at the Arcade. Keiichiro also takes the spot of Motoki charming ladies into playing the Sailor M games.
Usagi is practically bouncy in her seat when she has a couple shakes. Usagi then gets a call from Luna that she missing working at the Cafe
Ichigo eventually follows her with Masha closely
Ichigo adores the Cafe and thinks Usagi is adorable in her maid outfit
There's also a lot more males in the cafe now. They like seeing the other girls kinda like Host Club style if you watched it
When they do meet as heroes a similar meeting happens
A lot of fluff still
Also Usagi does turn into a bunny when she's very excited.

Sailor Moon Japan haul
YES I’m finally doing this! (It’s not that I forgot to do this or anything)
Going to put Keep Reading because boy this post is long XD
So the first Sailor Moon stuff I bought was from a clothing store called GU and they had these ADORABLE fluffy pompom things that you can attach to your bag or jeans or wherever you want
Tumblr media
I’m probably never gonna use them but they were on sale and each one costed 100 yen (about 1€) So I just HAD to buy them lol
Next were from the Sailor Moon Store in Shibuya! And I sold my soul there
Tumblr media
At the time there wasn’t really that much that interesting stuff but I managed to grab something xP They were selling those cards from Le Mouvement Final and since I didn’t have any Sera Myu stuff I decided to buy them lol. And that Moon Stick was the one I traded my soul with lmao It is a bit smaller than the regular Moon Stick but there is a button there and when you press it, it lights up!
Tumblr media
No more need to use flashlights when I have this XD
(That Sailor Venus headband wasn’t from the Sailor Moon Store, it was from a shopping mall close by. And they were giving NogiMyu and Q-pot cafe pamphlets for free so I decided to take them lol)
This next one is from different days put I decided to just put them in same pic
Tumblr media
Sailor Moon and Luna charms were also bought from GU and they were also 100 yen so I just bought them XD Then there is that small Silver Crystal charm I bought from somewhere(can’t remember lol) And I also decided to test my luck and buy one of those figure thingies where you don't know what you get and I’m SO happy that I got Venus <333 Pluto plushie is kinda self-explanatory and that weird castle-looking thingie is a Moon Castle Gashapon, which I forgot to include in the Sailor Moon Store pic. And the Crescent Moon Compact is also a Gashapon I got and I’m really happy I got it(and I already have the Cosmic Heart Compact from the same series) It opens differently then the one Sailor V uses tho
Tumblr media Tumblr media
and (finally) the last one. This isn’t exactly a Sailor Moon merchandise but it is related to it
Tumblr media
I’m sure that anyone who likes Sailor Moo knows at Usagi’s name is based on the Japanese folklore that a rabbit lives on the Moon (Tsukino Usagi = Rabbit of the Moon) and I found this and decided to buy it because it’s obviously really cute and because of it’s relation to Sailor Moon xD
But here you have it folks :P
(Also I filmed a video where I go through EVERYTHING I bought from Japan so stay tuned to that XD I just need to stop being lazy and start editing)

Get to Know the Mun
Rules: Please repost! Don’t reblog!
Name: Misa
Preferred pronouns: she / her
Selectivity: Semi-selective (I want to be open to new potential, but I also want to be given the choice on who my muse interacts with)
Favorite animal: Fave domestic animal is cats. Fave wild animal is the red panda.
Favorite muse you’ve had so far ever: Minako. She’s my second oldest muse (after Keiko Yukimura) and I’ve grown such a deep connection to her and the muns of the muses who interact with her. <3
Muse, you kinda wanna pick up: I kinda want to pick up Michiru Kaiou and Seiya Kou again, tbh. I’m sure there’s some non-SM ones, too, but those two stick out the most off the top of my head.
Most identifiable fictional character: Keiko Yukimura, though Minako is pretty high up there, too. Keiko and I just share A LOT of similarities.
What color your aura is/think it is: I’m honestly not sure, tbh?
Personality stuff you agree with (astrology, MBTI, Hogwarts house, etc be as specific as you want!):  MBTI - INJF (pretty accurate), Astrology - Pisces (Yup), Hogwarts House - Slytherin (I could see it? Tho I like to think I’m more Ravenclaw tbh)
Do you think you’re a good driver: I drive like a granny. I’m easily 50 feet behind the person in front of me whenever I drive freeway. ;^;
Favorite minor discourse: I... have no idea what you’re asking.
Favorite vine and/or meme: Anything having to do with Vitas (especially 7th Element)
Why did you choose this muse: If I’m being 100% honest, I don’t remember. Minako/Venus wasn’t my favorite senshi growing up (I gravitated more toward the Outer senshi and the Starlights). But for some reason, when I decided to try to enter the SM roleplay community, I chose Minako. And I’m so glad I did. I’ve made such a close and tight bond with her character
Favorite RP memory: Oh gosh, hmm...  Honestly, I’ve had so many great memories with all my roleplay partners, especially with Minako (between @codenameminako and @lcvemechain-archive). I cherish all my interactions with her.
Favorite thing you’ve written, in RP or not: Honestly, writing Minako’s reaction to Saito’s question in this thread has been one of my favorite things I’ve written in a while.
A line/lyrics/quote/etc you like or that means a lot to you: “I want to make a future with everyone, no matter how tough it gets. I just want to live my life with these people...!” -- Usagi Tsukino, Act 60.
Give a shout-out to someone: Can I just tag everyone? Is that a thing? No? Damn. Okay then:
@uurameshii
@vexhub
@kunsaito
@featherchan
@silvermoonbunny
@lunarpcwer
@izousaito
@gardienstellaire / @prince-demando
@sailor-cosmos
@jcdebound / @becomingatruelady
@maggiestein
@terramaiden (I hope I haven’t missed anyone /sob)
Tagged By: @featherchan @crossingredqueensrealm and @mccnreign (Y’all at least mentioned me and/or misaxdesu in shout-outs, so LOL)
Tagging: Everyone in the shout-outs, if you want to!

Most identifiable fictional character: Rise Kujikawa. I am more or less like her
What color your aura is/think it is: Either Pink or Purple

How close surveillance are Bolas's planeswalking "associates" under?
Mara, Hamia and Tsukino were the ones who worked with investigations, and since the whole deal with Hour of Devastation happened, Tsuki is out~ ( she actually developed anexiety attacks over anything related to amonkhet/Bolas)Mara and Hamia is now on Ravnica to find more info on bolas tho~ who works for him is still uncertain

澄んだ泉のほとりにて

Track 3 || Translation index || Track 5
Tsubasa: … There we go. Um… Shuuu!! Shu!! Are you here?
Shu: Hello, good evening, Tsubasa. It’s a wonderful night, the moon is beautiful.
Tsubasa: Shu! I’m so glad you’re here! As always, with a way too cool entrance.
Shu: Hm? Is there any problem?
Tsubasa: No, it’s nothing! I just thought that I’m saved if you’re here!
Shu: My, I didn’t know you had such burning desire for me. Did something happen, Tsubasa?
Tsubasa: Ahhh… well…
Shu: That’s rare. For that Tsubasa to hesitate.
Tsubasa: Hey, what’s with the “that”! What does it mean?!
Shu: *laughs* It just means what I said. You understand, right? Last week you got into a huge fight with Shiki too.
Tsubasa: No, that was…!!!! That was… his fault. He says he likes sake, so I brought to the banquet a rare kind of sake I got by chance… and then…
Shu: And then?
Tsubasa: When I left my seat for a second, he!!! That stupid idiot oni!!!! He drank it all by himself!!! I also wanted Dai-chan and Rikka to drink it, and I was looking forward to tasting it too, you know!!!
Shu: I see. If that’s true, then I understand why you’d get angry.
Tsubasa: Right!?!?! Ahh… but…
Shu: Hm?
Tsubasa: Today… I think I might make you angry.
Shu: Make me angry? Hey, hey, now that’s ominous. Leaving aside if I’ll get angry or not, tell me your problem first? We’ll talk after that.
Tsubasa: … Right… Y-you know…
Shu: Yeah.
Tsubasa: Um…
Shu: …
Tsubasa: *puts his hands together* Will you give me your gekirin*?!
Shu: … Gekirin?
Tsubasa: Yeah. You’re a mizuchi, but your real form is a dragon, right? I heard from Shiki. You’re not a being that should be living in a small spring like this, that you’re like a deity. And I want that gekirin of yours!
Shu: … And why do you want something like that? What will you use it for?
Tsubasa: Ah- that’s…
Shu: Certainly, I’m a kind of dragon, and I have a gekirin. However, as you know, it’s in a place I don’t like to show, and I don’t like people to touch it. As you imagine, I’d prefer hearing your reasons…
Tsubasa: Uh…
Shu: Tsubasa?
Tsubasa: Close to the forest where I sleep, there’s a small village, you see…
Shu: Yes, I know. The children from there usually play in your shrine, right? You were angry that they were noisy and were interrupting your nap.
Tsubasa: Yeah. And in that village… since a month ago or so, a weird illness has been spreading… people that were healthy suddenly got a fever and collapsed… and they’re always in bed. And among them, there are some of those kids… no, it’s not just because of that, but… you see, I don’t really like if it’s too quiet…
Shu: Hmm?
Tsubasa: Shu… are you laughing?
Shu: I’m not laughing.
Tsubasa: Anyway! It kind of bugged me so I searched into it, and found out it’s not a normal illness. It’s a curse.
Shu: A curse that harms people… that’s not gentle. Who on earth did it?
Tsubasa: A nasty tsukumogami. The first person to get sick was a merchant from a rich family, and he recently got a jar with a shady history from who knows where. That was the tsukumogami’s identity. Apparently it has cursed and killed hundreds of people… and it has no purpose or anything anymore. It’s become a being that just brings misfortune to people and kills them. I want to stop that! Also, at this rate, the kids will…
Shu: I see. Then, how is my gekirin involved in this?
Tsubasa: Uh… if I could, I’d finish him off quickly myself, but you know, that thing is quite mature now… and honestly, it’s a bit tough. Ah, just so you know, I don’t think I’m going to lose! But this is not just my problem. I can’t afford to fail. So I want to make assurance double sure, and that’s why I want a powerful weapon. Shu, you have an amazing purifying power, right? So… uh… you can’t, after all?
Shu: Hm…
Tsubasa: Please, Shu!! I beg of you!!
Shu: *sigh* Good grief. And Shiki was just teasing me the other day because I was spoiling Ichiru and Issei too much…
Tsubasa: Oh… then…
Shu: I’ll forgive you just because it’s you. It’s special, okay?
Tsubasa: Thank you, Shu!!! *hugs* I love you!!!!
Shu: Okay, okay. Here.
Tsubasa: … Eh? We’re… we’re taking it now?? Eh, wait… but can I touch it and take it? I know I asked you to give it to me but… will it grow again? It won’t?
Shu: You’re asking all of that a bit late. I want to give it to you before my resolution falters. I don’t like to touch it myself either, so I prefer others to take it. It will grow again eventually. Probably. That’s all.
Tsubasa: U-uwaahh… I’m super sorry, Shu…
Shu: Use it efficiently, okay? Also, next time, don’t bring sake to Shiki, bring me some rare tea.
Tsubasa: I definitely… definitely!! Will bring it to you!!! U-um… well then… excuse me~
Shu: Ugh… do you see it?
Tsubasa: Yeah… just at the middle of your neck… there’s a scale that’s shining lightly… I guess… it’s this?
Shu: I don’t know myself, but probably, yes.
Tsubasa: … Can I take it?
Shu: If you ask me so many times it makes me want to say no!
Tsubasa: Ah- okay. Then… I’m sorry, Shu!
Shu: Ugh!!!

TL notes:
Okay so *breathes* time to explain:
Gekirin (逆鱗) is one of the 81 scales dragons have, placed under the chin, and the only one that grows upside down. Dragons originally don’t cause humans any kind of harm, but they absolutely hate it when someone touches their gekirin, so if someone does they get incredibly furious and kill the person instantly (Tsubasa you’re so lucky Shu is so kind you have no idea).
From this legend, the expression that the “gekirin should not be touched” was born, and then it adopted the meaning of “invoking the wrath of the emperor”, and that’s why gekirin is translated as “imperial wrath” nowadays. (Source)
As to what kind of powers does it have by itself and how can someone use them, I have no idea. I’ll leave that to your imagination. Hope I managed to explain it a bit tho!
Tsubasa and Shiki’s fight is also explained in this short story.
In this track:
Tsubasa: Karasu tengu (烏天狗), a crow-billed goblin. Can fly in the air at will
Shu: Mizuchi (蛟), a type of Japanese dragon or legendary serpent-like creature
Thanks for reading!
