One thing that I do like about Belos’ characterization that was gradually revealed as the seasons went on is how much of a bitch he is. How much of a petty, vindictive, >:3 motherfucker he is. The little “goodbye, Boiling Isles” during the Day of Unity, “go find a hole to wither away in” to Kiki, he had absolutely zero reason to do and say any of these things yet did so anyway out of sheer, unbridled, bitchy villainy. I love him so much.

listen I understand the appeal of the Lilith and Amity and/or Hunter dynamic, especially in pre-s1 settings, but I feel like something a lot of people don't consider is that Lilith is at her core a horrible role model.

lots of things can be read into Vash bonding with Wolfwood (older brother) and Nai's cult kidnapping and brainwashing younger children into total obedience (Wolfwood's younger brother) and Vash seeking out the company of humans who resemble his foster mother Rem Saverem and are characterized by a loving and nurturing personality. Vash likes motherly women (Rollo's mother, the mother in the first episode) and black haired humans whose most defining character traits are pacifism, idealism, compassion, protection and self-sacrifice (Luida, Meryl, Wolfwood) all traits that can be found in Rem. Wolfwood is what Vash wishes his brother was: someone still redeemable. A strong older brother who is protective of his younger siblings, someone who deeply cares and doesn't try to mask his violence as love. Livio is what ep 11/12 Nai wishes his brother was: an empty husk that only lives to realize Nai's ideals and does what he tells him to do without questioning anything. Even after living over hundred years apart from each other, they are still looking in others for some kind of replacement for the family they've lost.

In the year 2023, after two Fodlan games and one new FE game, I'm here promoting the rarepair that is Marigard.
Excuse me, Miss Marianne, but why are you this concerned about Edelgard? She's your enemy at this point. Do you know who else is so worried about her? Dorothea.

Interestingly, the character Matoro was not created with a sacrifice in mind by the story team, his role in the Ignition arc was decided later. Sometimes I wonder whether this is also true of his creation in-universe, since we know that destiny can change under certain circumstances. Was he destined from the moment of his creation to die that way? Or was there something else that set that fate in motion? It could have been something as big as the great cataclysm, or something as small as Kualus deciding to teach Nuju how to speak Bird...
