Two Brothers - Delete Message Ending

A/N: For the authentic experience - start with Two Brothers and choose your ending!

Warnings: Fem!reader, wealthy!reader, angsty, friend!Neelam, wholesome bestie/friendship energy toward the end

Tears pricked your eyes as you deleted the note. To text even one of them right now would be cruel.  You knew deep down who you wanted to be with, but you couldn’t risk hurting the other.  Even if the guy you wanted forgave you, you couldn’t avoid his brother forever.  Maybe the first few months of dating officially and maybe even the next couple of years.  But, would you be able to walk down the aisle knowing that both of them would be standing there?  One as your groom and the other as a groomsmen?  You weren’t sure you could. And without that confidence, you didn’t have the right to text them anything, but an apology.

You fumbled through the words and the contact method.  Should you message them separately? One big group text would probably add salt to the wounds.  But, there wasn’t anything you could say that hadn’t already been said.  You were sorry.  For everything. That was all.

You decided to take a page from Clay’s book and start blocking them on social media.  Then you blocked all the phone numbers you had for them and Private Garden.  Finally, you started moving photos to a separate album.  You couldn’t delete the photos yet.  That would take awhile.  Much longer than it would take for the hickeys to fade or for the items Jack gifted you to be collected and mailed back to him. It could take months for you to recover from this, but you had experienced worse.  And probably inflicted worse on the two brothers.

Exhaustion made your eyelids heavy and the next time you opened them you were in your LA home. It was the wee hours of the morning and the air felt chillier than you were used to.  You hugged yourself, teeth chattering, as Henry helped you unload your stuff.  You trailed your brother and Henry in silence.  It was hard to believe that the goodnight texts that you had taking for granted from Jack were going to stop tonight.  Or the final words that Clay ever said to you was that he didn’t want to get stuck.  You felt ashamed of yourself.  You spent so much time trying to be the benevolent rich girl that you forgot how to be a regular human being.  Be honest, be kind, and don’t mess with someone’s sibling.

You walked into your room and took a deep breath.  The smell of sweet floral filled your nose.  The housekeeper did a great job of airing out your room for the weekend and even freshened up for your arrival tomorrow.  Your room was quite large with it’s own connected bathroom.  You were content to hide out here for the next couple of days.  You took your time doing your night routine, caring for your skin and hair in the most nurturing self-care.  After a warm shower, you changed into your soft satin pajamas.  You climbed into bed, the sun peeking out just as you pulled down your sleep mask and closed off from the world.

Your family left you alone for the first few days. You stayed home all day, taking your courses and assignments from your bedroom.  Food was delivered to your room by whichever house staff member was on duty.  Any messages for you were shouted through the door by the appointed family member.  You weren’t kidding, you were prepared to camp out here for the rest of your life.

One evening, your mother knocked on your door with the request to come in.  You obliged and she sat on the edge of your bed, looking at you curled up under your blankets.

“You have to go back out there.”  She said, her tone reserved.  Your mother, like any lawyer, was always practical when it came to problems.  

“I can’t just start dating again.” You wailed. “Not after what happened.”

Your mother had the cliff notes of what happened. Of course you left out certain details of the relationship that were awkward to talk about like how much you relished kissing Clay or your sexual intimacy with Jack.  She didn’t need to know all the details to tell how devastated you were, anyway.

“I’m not talking about dating, Y/n! I mean getting some Vitamin D.  Meeting with friends.  Networking with other classmates.” She smoothed the top of your head that was sticking out from the blanket. “Romance isn’t the only thing the world has to offer, you know.”

“You’re not helping…” You groaned. 

“Seriously, Y/n.”  She cooed.  “This is a great time to grow friendships and develop as a person.  I know you feel bad about what happened to the Heathrows...”

“Harlows…” You murmured.

“I’ll get it next time…” Your mother said, a bit of a laugh in her voice.  You knew she was teasing.  She had an amazing memory, she knew their names.   “...,but they will move on and so will you.  I promise.”

“Thanks, mom.” You said, unraveling yourself to give her a hug.  “What’s the odds of us doing some mother-daughter bonding?”

Your mother smiled.  She was a very reserved woman, but she wouldn’t say no to a spa treatment and a mini-shopping spree.  It was the one part of her wealth that she had gotten used to over time.

“I’ll call the usual place to see if they have opening for Friday.” She kissed the top of your head.  “I love you, sweetheart.”

“I love you too, mom.” You cooed.

Six months later

You were surprised when you received a text message from Neelam.  You had forgotten that in your “block” session, you didn’t have the heart to block her.  Part of you was secretly hoping that you would receive a message from her one day.  Now you were sitting in a café waiting for her arrival.  You had already ordered your drink.  In fact, you had ordered one, paid for it and then ordered another on a separate receipt because you were so nervous that you drank the first one too quickly.  Then, you got nervous that she would see that you ordered a drink so, you requested a separate receipt for the first. 

Neelam walked in looking radiant.  She was wearing a bright yellow romper that brought out the gold tones in her skin, hair and eyes.  You stood to hug her, her arms already outstretched to hug you back. You hugged her tightly, your pale pink sun dress swaying as she rocked you side to side.

“Hey girlie!” She cooed as you both sat down.  “How you been?”

“Better.” You said, honestly, nodding your head. “You?”

“Enjoying this much needed vacation.” She let out a laugh.  

The server came over and took her order, derailing your conversation.  You tacked on a couple of pieces of cake to share that you had been eyeing for the last few minutes.  The server came back quickly with her coffee and the pieces of cake from the display.  You thanked them before focusing on Neelam.  There was one question your really wanted to ask.

“How are the boys?” You asked, your voice getting a little scratchy.

“They are okay, honey.” She said, sympathetically.  “They did have a bit of a fight a couple days after you left, but nothing worse than their usual bickering.  After that, Jack pretty much threw himself in the studio and at every pretty girl he could fine.  Clay withdrew into himself a bit more, but then he also started to play the market.  I think they are back to normal-ish now.”

“They had a fight?” You questioned.  “Like a fist fight?”

Neelam hesitated for a moment and gave a quick nod.  “It came out of nowhere.  I don’t remember if it was one of them ordering the wrong pizza or maybe one of them not cleaning up after himself.  But next thing I know, chairs are flying and fists are pounding. I think I screamed.”

Neelam gave a nervous laugh, rubbing her temples. “I had looked at some of the guys to intervene, but they all just sat there and watched.  I’m guessing they understood that they needed to get it out.  After all, there was nothing that they had to say to each other.”

“What happened after?” You asked, worried that their relationship was beyond repair.

“They tired themselves out.  Laid flat out on the floor, panting like dogs.” Neelam laughed, fully this time.  “Then they looked at each other, pointed and said ‘F-ck you’ before falling back down.  They helped each other up and went to finish eating.  And that was that.”

“I’m glad it worked out.” You smiled.  “I guess Jack was right, there was nothing he would choose over his brother.”

Neelam nodded solemnly.  You realized you put her in a tough position so, you tried to think of something else to say. Unfortunately, your mind kept wandering to your ex. You sighed.  You might as well get it out.  You scratched the back of your neck awkwardly. “Any tracks I should avoid on the next album then?”

“Uhh…” Neelam grimaced visibly before bringing her cup to her lips, her eyes looking away from you. “Maybe the whole thing.”

“Are we talking Taylor Swift bad?” You asked, getting worried.

“More like Adele…bad.” Neelam’s face grew more pained.  “Just be happy that your mother makes every guy who dates you sign that NDA.  It’s so comprehensive, I’m pretty sure if the video vixen he picks has your eye color he could get sued.  That was a doozy to deal with.”

You gave Neelam a sympathetic nod.  You had forgotten your mother’s contracts were so full-proofed.  You had never been in a serious enough relationship for it to be acted on.  You were grateful, but you also felt bad for your friend as Jack’s manager.

Neelam seemed to interpret your silence as worry and shook her head quickly.  “Sorry, love.  But on the bright side, he did need to get his heartbroken at some point.  He may even thank you at the Grammys.”

“I broke his heart?” You asked, shocked.  “B-But, I didn’t think…”

“Oh hon,” Neelam put down her cup and covered your hand with hers.  “I’m sorry, I didn’t come here to guilt you.  I genuinely wanted to see you.”

Neelam sighed and continued.  She could tell it would be on your mind all day if she didn’t.  “Jack was really gearing up to be serious about you.  I think he saw a future with you because you understood the biz without being in it.  I think he was just hurt that he wasn’t your first choice.”

“And Clay? Did I hurt him too?” You asked, regretting it instantly when you saw her face twist.

“I think you hurt Clay when you first visited Jack on tour. I remember thinking something was up when you two emerged from behind that counter.  He looked so content having you with him and the way his face dropped when I made that joke about you and Jack?  Uh, I felt like a monster.  But I didn’t know why.”

Neelam shrugged. “I mean he’s used to his brother having the limelight. Having an older brother practically guarantees you are in his shadow.”  You nodded to her words, knowing the feeling yourself. “But, I’m pretty sure he could hear you guys in Jack’s hotel room…”

You covered your face with both your hands.  “I’m ready, God.  Please take me now.”

Neelam laughed, holding your wrists and pulling them from your face.  “Y/n, please, it’s not that bad.  Those two have done way worse to other girls.  I am not condoning your actions, but you did what you did, apologized and now it’s done.  Now, you can let bygones be bygones.”

You shook your head, remembering her using those words to her the night you told Jack the truth.  You cringed thinking about it.  You were really ready to drag Neelam back into this knowing that you weren’t going to stop being overly friendly with Clay while sleeping with Jack.  It was only a few months ago, but you were a completely different person now.  A part of you was sad that Jack and Clay would never know that. You will forever go down in their memory as the girl who tried to play them both. They would probably toast to your demise and make snide comments as inside jokes for the rest of your lives.

You let out a loud sigh. As much as you were grateful to Neelam for answering all of your questions, you knew it was being selfish. She was the one who invited you out so, she must have something to say.

“Thanks, Neelam.”  You took a long sip of your beverage and smiled softly.  “Sorry, I’m sure you didn’t come here to talk about them.  Was there something I could help you with?”

Neelam smiled at you, shaking her head.  “No, I just wanted to check in with you.  I miss having your around.  You were the best shopping partner.”

You laughed, thinking back to the couple of shopping trip you two enjoyed when you spent your spring break with Jack. He had slept in and so you decided to hang out with her.  You had shown her some of the more secret shopping places and treated her to some items from your favorite designers.  Neelam was also sweet enough to purchase a couple items for you in return.  You accepted, happy to sport items from a friend. 

“That was fun!” You sighed, contently.  “We could go to Rodeo Drive if you’re down.  It’s a little tourist-y, but it’s still so LA, you know?”

Neelam smiled.  “I’d like that, but let me finish my cake first.”  She laughed, digging her fork into one of the slices.  You followed suit, humming at the sweet taste.

“What’s being on with you?” She asked, “Have you really been okay?”

“Yeah.  The first month was very hard.  I threw myself into my school work and prepping for internships.  My scores and performance dropped a bit, but by the third month I had pulled myself together and managed to get an internship at a nice firm.  One of the lawyers I was working with left during the summer to start her own pro bono practice.  She offered me a job after graduation.”  You smiled softly, a little embarrassed about your humble brag.

“Oh my god, Y/n! Congratulations!” Neelam beamed at you.  “I’m so glad your dreams are coming true.”

“Thank you, Neelam.”

It was a bittersweet moment.  On the one hand, you were glad that you still got to have Neelam in your life.  But, you still had so many questions.  You wondered if the boys would ever forgive you.  You wondered if you had sent that text that day if the man you wanted would have given you a second chance.  You took a deep breath.  Maybe one day you would cross paths again, but today wasn’t that day.  Today was a day that belong to you and Neelam and you were happy with that.

Steve/ Something quiet and outdoors.

“I think something quiet.  Just us and the people we like best.  Outside maybe,” you suggest.

“I would love that,” Steve agrees.  “I know that wearing the Stars and Stripes might seem like I love attention, but I really don’t.  Just being a small group will be nice.  More about us making a family than about putting on a show.”

“I agree,” you say.  “Do you have any suggestions for venues?”

“I always thought the Brooklyn Botanic Gardens was pretty.  I think it might be nice there,” he suggests.

You grin.  “That sounds perfect, Steve,” you say and lean over and kiss him gently.

There’s a lot that happens in the eighteen months between Steve proposing and your wedding.  You ask Hill to be your maid-of-honor because it’s her that led you to meet Steve in the first place.  Having Hill as your maid-of-honor, in turn, led to the strangest of Bridal Showers and the wildest of bachelorette parties.  However, she’s the most organized person you know and can pull strings to get things done that you would have thought are impossible.  She organizes every dress fitting and cake tasting that’s needed along with a whole bunch of things you haven’t even considered.

The ceremony is going to be held in the gardens of the Brooklyn Botanic Gardens under a canopy of trees.  It’s spring and the trees are blossoming, creating a natural floral element to the decorations.  The reception is held in the Palm House, under the domed glass ceiling.  You’d opt for a seated three-course meal with an hour of cocktail service to cover the time you and Steve will be taking wedding photos.  The venue is going to be decorated with rose petals and arrangements of pale pink and white tulips and sweet peas, so it appeared as if spring has been brought in from the outside.  The cake is alternating tiers of white and pink buttercream frosting decorated with tiny gum paste flowers.  Each white layer is Italian lemon and lemon curd, while each pink is champagne and raspberry sponge.

Maria helps you with the zip on the back of your dress.  It’s a white chiffon empire cut dress with fine embroidery along the hem and an overlay of beads that sits over the bodice and your shoulders.  “We really better get a move on,” she says.

You look out of the window and nod.  “Don’t want to be there when it’s getting dark,” you agree. 

“Certainly will change the tone of your wedding photos, considering you’ve been aiming for the perfect spring day,” she says.

You nod and pick up your bouquet of white and pink tulips and sweet pea tied in a white satin ribbon and the two of you head down to the vintage MK Jaguar waiting for you.

The drive out to Brooklyn takes you over the bridge where Steve proposed and just that is enough to bring tears to your eyes.

“Don’t you start crying, kid,” Maria teases, handing you some Kleenex.  “Your mascara will run.”

“It’s okay, I already thought about that,” you said.  “It’s waterproof.”

“Smart,” she teases, tapping her head.  “No wonder he likes you.”

The car pulls into the gardens and you’re guided down the access road to get you as close to where the ceremony will be held as the car can get.  You can see everyone gathered around the chairs where the ceremony will be held.  When the car pulls up, everyone moves to their seats and Maria helps you out of the back, fixing your veil and smoothing out your dress.  “Ready?” She asks.

“As I’ll ever be,” you agree.

She smiles and signals to one of the ushers and the harp starts playing ‘Somewhere over the rainbow’.

She makes her way down the aisle and when she reaches the end, everyone stands and cranes their head to look at you.  You make your way down the aisle timing your steps to match the music.  Steve stands at the end with Bucky and Sam beside him.  He is in a Navy blue suit with a white sweet pea in the buttonhole, while Bucky and Sam are wearing light blue.  He smiles as he watches you approach him, the expression on his face is one of such pure love and awe that it makes your heart hurt a little.  By the time you reach him, tears have pricked his eyes.

You give your bouquet to Hill and take his hands.

Your celebrant gestures for everyone to be seated.  “Today is a celebration,” she says.  “A celebration of love, of commitment, of friendship, of family, and of two people who are in it forever.

“You don’t have to have a ceremony to have a marriage.  Yet over so many different cultures, such a ceremony exists?  Why is this moment so special?”

She looks at you and Steve, but you barely even take note, you’re completely lost in the blue of Steve’s eyes.  “Because,” she says.  “Despite all of our differences, love is what we all share.  It’s a great unifier - our one universal truth.  That no matter who we are, where we’ve come from, what we believe, we know this one thing: love is what we’re doing right.  That’s why you are both standing here.  That’s why you all are here to watch them stand before you.  We have all loved… in whatever form it takes, and in this moment, we’re reminded that love is the very best part of humanity.

“We’re all here because we want these two people to experience love in all its forms.  From little moments like falling asleep next to each other or sharing a meal, to the large ones, like this one.  Each choice you made led you here together, standing before us and expressing your love.  You’re about to make promises to each other that you intend to keep, you’re going to promise to take care of each other, and stand up for one another, but what you’re really saying is; “Every experience I am going to have, I want you to be part of.”

She turns to Steve.  “Will you take this woman to be your wife.  To love and cherish her, support and protect her even when times are at their lowest, to lift her up and be proud of her achievements, and find new reasons to love her every single day?”

Steve smiles.  “I will.”

She turns to you “Will you take this man to be your husband.  To love and cherish him, support and protect him even when times are at their lowest, to lift him up and be proud of his achievements, and find new reasons to love her every single day?”

You grin at Steve.  “I will.”

She smiles at both of you.  “Will you both be each other’s partners from this day forward?  Will you bring out the best in one another, share your happiest moments together, and love each other absolutely - for the rest of this lifetime and for whatever may come next?”

“We will,” you and Steve say as one.

“Can I have the rings?”  She asks.  Bucky and Maria both hand over the wedding bands and the celebrant offers them to each of you.  “You’ve both chosen to wear rings as a reminder of these promises.  Wedding bands are the perfect circle with no beginning and no end.  Remember though, that it did not come from nothing.  It was once raw and imperfect and crafted to fit you each perfectly.  Your love is like that too.  You formed it together with the choices you made.  May your marriage bring you all the exquisite excitements a marriage should bring.  May you need one another, but not out of weakness.  May you want one another, but not out of lack.  May you look for things to praise, often say “I love you!” and take no notice of small faults.  May you have happiness, and may you find it making one another happy.  May you have love, and may you find it loving one another.”

She pauses and looks at both of you.  “And now the time has come.  I present to you, Captain and Mrs. Rogers.  You may kiss the bride.”

Steve’s smile seems to be glued to his face.  He lifts your veil from your face and runs his hands back into your hair as he brings his lips to yours.  Everyone stands and claps, but you’re barely aware of them as you kiss your husband, and a whole new set of life choices opens up before you.

Pattern Testing The Zero Waste Poncho

Welcome Fall!

It took me almost one month to release this post. As someone with a lot of goals, I find it hard to quell my constant need to do all the things (queue frantic music). Recently, I decided to return to school to complete my certification in Apparel Design and Merchandising from 2009! It's been a while, and adjusting to full time school mid pandemic/civil rights movement/election year/new preteen schooling at home has been a challenge! My new practice is learning to break my cycle of burnout quickly by halting all gears and resetting. I have a tendency to hyperfocus and ignore basic necessities during the day. This year has been a practice to release those tendencies. My past four weeks have been filled with crochet, warm tea, extra sleep, starting our Fall garden, and waking up with the birds.

Now onto the pattern testing photos...

This was such an incredibly helpful and thoughtful pattern testing group. Their feedback was wonderfully in-depth and thoughtful! I found that a lot of what was originally included in the instructions made things more confusing.

This release is my first patternless, one size, zero waste pattern! I want to turn your attention to the beautiful testers garments that are just jaw dropping gorgeous.

Pattern testing really does take a village, and getting it from concept to pattern is hard work! Without futher ado, the long overdue Zero Waste Poncho Pattern Testers and their looks!

This is a simple make and you are essentially creating three rectangles for the poncho. So read through, don’t overthink it too much, and if you are stuck, make a mini version out of paper or fabric (@soveryjo told me she did this and it is ingenious).

I will be offering some tips for success before 2020 ends, so stay tuned!

Hi Ladies, Below I've shared some idea and suggestions in the form of a fantasy letter? I mean every word of it - but you don't have to take it that way. Submissives who come with their own ideas have something to offer. Remember, blank slates are boring. When I was a little girl, I loved the ritual of packing for summer camp. My parents sent me every year to the little compound up the road full of earnest young Christian children, eager college age counselors and righteous adults.

This is not that summer camp. Do you hear me Sally? Regina? Dorothy?

At this summer camp you come as you are, who you really are. It doesn’t matter if she shows up in a black trash bag because that’s the only way you can sneak her out of the house. We will find a way to put her back together again.

So what is in this bag? What goes in every good girls suitcase for summer camp?

Well every girl will need the following:

A towel, sunscreen, toothbrush, toothpaste. Floral scented shampoos conditoiners and lotions are made available for all guests.

Every special girl will need the following:

Wig cap, half a dozen pairs of pantyhose (at least), face razor, body razor, exfoliator, makeup remover, baby wipes, eyelashes, silicone inserts (breasts), bra, panties, slip, satin tank, shoes (one pair each, boots, heels, flats). If any special girl feels another choice fits her personal style more then she is invited to bring those items with her. Use of cell phones is discouraged during your stay.

Basic wardrobe requirements are two sarongs, one for the body and one for the head. Head coverings are elegant, very feminine and strongly encouraged during your stay at summer camp. Wigs are excellent choices for nights out and your photography session. Clip on earrings are reccomended but may be more difficult to locate so shop online or shop early. Thrift stores often have a few pairs of clip on earrings.

If there are any items you wish to donate to our closet at summer camp you are welcome to bring those items with you and if they are useful and fill a need in our collection we will happily keep them for you. You may return at any time to retrieve your items.

Your host, Domina Vontana, is a Goddess. This Goddess serves beauty and discipline. Heavenly beauty and Eartly discipline. Protocol requires that all guest present gifts to the Hostesses upon arrival. This is the first ceremony. Guests also change clothing at this ceremony. Have at least the two sarongs ready to go when you arrive and make sure to wear appropriate undergarments upon arrival, because you will be stripped and made to dress to the specifications of the head Mistress. Chastity is strongly encouraged. Please place the device on your body prior to arrival.

Wine is encouraged. Domina Vontana’s favorite wines are Savignon Blanc and Sangiovese. Hard liquor is not permitted. Smoking cigarettes is discouraged and must be done outdoors at all times. All cigarette butts must be disposed of in the proper container. Perfume, incense and sweet smelling flowers should be in every room during your stay so come prepared to contribute to the atmosphere of summer camp. Oils that contain anti bug properties are strongly encouraged as well as soothing scents. General recommendations include Tea tree, sweet orange, grapefruit, rosemary, jasmine, geranium, vanilla, bergamot, and lavendar.

Guest are encouraged to bring a water bottle and a baseball cap or large brim sun hat  to protect against exsposure. In addition a beach towel is recommended. If a photo shoot is part of your sissy summer camp experience then bring the items with you and make sure they have been pressed and are camera ready on the day of your sitting.  All meals will be vegetarian except for the closing ritual and dinner. Most meals are also gluten free. If you have any allergies you must let the hostess know before booking. All reasonable accommodations will be made however meat is not permitted except for at the closing ritual. All meals are prepared and eaten as a group.

Daily activites are determined in the morning by team consensus between hostesses and guests, collectivey known as the sisters. Participation is not mandatory, but taking emotional and psycholocal risks that you have contemplated for some time are stronly encouraged. Gentle but firm is the approach that guides all our actions, even in the midst of a heavy S/m scene. Most things are not given enough time, but at SSC (Sissy SummerCamp) time is what we have and time is what we take. Practice lounging like a Goddess, or cleaning like a real maid. Chapter Twenty-Five - Chapter Twenty-Six - Chapter Twenty-Seven

It was 5pm and the sun wouldn’t be setting for a few hours, as Scott, Isaac, Cora, Liam, Hayden, Mason, Corey, Ethan and Malia sat in Stiles’ living room, watching Stiles stare at the large glass murder board with pictures and names and red tape plastered all over it. He gnawed on the end of the white china pencil that he held in between his thumb and pointer finger. He had a mess of gruesome crime scene photos splayed out by his feet on the floor, and he barely glanced up as the front door opened and three girls walked through, until he saw Allison.

“Oh shit…” He mumbled, while turning to catch Scott’s reaction.

“Allison?!” Scott leapt to his feet and stumbled over Isaac and Cora’s long legs to reach the girls who had just come into the house. “What… what are you doing here?”

Lydia walked over and took Scott’s seat, mildly grinning over the chaos that was about to ensue. Stiles wrapped his arm around his girlfriend’s waist, and pressed his lips against her forehead. “Hey babe..” He whispered out, still staring at Scott and Allison. You placed your notebooks and textbooks on the coffee table and sat next to Malia on the couch.

“This is not what it looks like…” Scott tried to position himself between Allison and Stiles’ creation.

“It looks like one of Stiles’ famous murder boards… almost like you guys are trying to figure out what’s been attacking all these people in Beacon Hills lately” Allison said, staring at Scott with her arms folded across her chest. Isaac laughed and Cora elbowed him in the ribs.

“Uh.. how… wait.” Scott struggled.

“Okay, we really don’t have time for you to figure this out, buddy. Allison has known for weeks because she overheard you and Argent talking, so can we all sit down and focus on this instead?” Stiles interrupted, as Scott followed Allison to the couch to sit next to you and Malia, his mouth agape. “Perfect timing!” Stiles announced as Sheriff Stilinski and Deputy Parrish walked through the door. “What do you got for me, Daddy?” Stiles rubbed his hands together and grinned, excited to hear the latest updates from the head of the county police.

“There was only one body found this morning and it doesn’t fit the same M.O.” The Sheriff informed his son, as he handed Stiles a manilla folder full of pictures and reports, and then hung his jacket up on a hook by the front door.

“How does it not fit the M.O.?” Stiles questioned, disappointed.

Parrish, who had made his way to sit on the arm of the sofa that Lydia rested in, piped up. “We found this guy inside of his house, and he’d been there for weeks. The rest of the victims were attacked outside.”

“So he has nothing to do with our attacker?” Scott asked, leaning forward, resting his elbows on his knees.

“Well, not exactly, the wounds were pretty similar with one exception.” Parrish said.

“That he was found inside..” Isaac tried to finish Parrish’s sentence.

“No…. he had his heart ripped out of his chest.” Stiles interrupted, reading the report that Parrish had written for the case file.

“Brutal.” Isaac said, rubbing his hand over his chest, and leaning back in his seat.

Stiles taped the picture and the report up to the bottom corner of the board and drew a question mark next to it in white pencil. “We don’t know if he has anything to do with it, but I’m not gonna rule it out.” He announced to the group, as he turned around to face them. Sheriff Stilinski had made his way back into the living room, holding a Chinese take out box and a fork, as he stuffed cold, leftover chow mein into his mouth. “So what do we know so far?” Stiles asked the group.

“The ages and genders and occupations are all random, this guy doesn’t have a preference in his victims.” The Sheriff said, speaking with his mouth full.

“They’re all happening at night.” Malia reminded the group.

“Some people were slashed with, like, claws.” Liam piped up.

Mason cut Liam off. “Yea, but some people had like detached limbs and others were bitten. That one guy had all three done to him.” He looked up at Stiles, from the floor, where the rest of the younger members of the Pack were sitting.

“What if it’s the Grim Reaper? I mean, that’s what Coach said…” Isaac asked, his eyes widening at Stiles and then the rest of the group.

Stiles narrowed his eyes at the handsome, blonde wolf. “Coach is the only one who said that, and it’s Coach… Don’t you think that people would have described it carrying a scythe… or not described anything at all, because if it was the Grim Reaper, everyone who got attacked would have died.” Stiles said, exasperated by Isaac.

“I guess…” Isaac pursed his lips and sunk into the couch next to Cora.

“Have you figured anything out from the books, Y/N?” Allison asked, causing Scott to fidget uncomfortably.

You shook your head, touching your notebook on the table in front of you. “The descriptions haven’t been specific enough. It could be dozens of things in either my Mesopotamia books or my Western Civ. books. I just don’t know. I feel like we’re still missing like one piece of identifying evidence to figure out what they are.” You explained to the group, defeat in your tone.

“Stiles, what is it?” Scott said, leaning his head over the table, watching his best friend pull crime scene photos off of the murder board and out of the file his dad had just given him and begin spreading them on the floor.

“There’s a pattern.” Stiles announced, getting off his knee and standing up to look at the pictures as a whole. The group rushed around him. “I’ve been thinking about it ever since Coach told us he got attacked as he was leaving the high school. Greenberg’s statement says that he literally found Coach in a pool of his own blood outside of the main entrance to the school.”

“So what’s the pattern?” Malia asked, annoyed at Stiles’ lack of automatic clarity.

“My dad got attacked outside of that old abandoned house, on their front stoop. At first, I thought it was just people getting attacked outside of their homes, like a crime of opportunity, but with my dad and then Coach…. it’s doorways… dark doorways. What if these creatures can’t get inside of a house or don’t like the light or something, so they get you when you’re coming or going?” Stiles proposed.

“I think you did find the pattern.” Sheriff Stilinski patted his son on the shoulder and smiled.

“Does that help you at all?” Allison asked, turning back to Y/N who was not standing with everyone else, but instead was flipping through your books on the couch.

“I don’t know… maybe.. it sounds familiar-ish… I’m just gonna have to really dig into this stuff tonight.” You said as you rubbed your forehead.

“Sheriff, if the pattern is at night, we should be going out on extra patrols.” Parrish mentioned.

“Guns don’t work on these things, Parrish, I know, I tried.” The Sheriff reminded the young Deputy of how he unloaded his entire clip into the creature that attacked him.

“You need to enforce a mandatory curfew, Dad. I mean, people shouldn’t even be walking their dogs at night anymore. You get inside once the sun goes down, and you stay inside until it comes back up.” Stiles said firmly to his father.

“I think you’re right, kid. We need to get back to the station and talk to the Mayor.” Sheriff Stilinski motioned to Parrish, who kissed Lydia and then followed the Sheriff out the door to the squad car.

“You all should head home. We’ll pick this back up tomorrow afternoon.” Stiles said to everyone, as he rearranged the pictures from the floor onto the murder board.

Everyone began to disperse out the front door. “Lydia, I’ll drop you off at home.” Malia offered, as she walked out the front door.

“Stiles…” Lydia stopped before she followed Malia to her car. “It’s not a premonition, just a feeling.. be careful tonight.” She squeezed Stiles’ bicep and walked out the door.

“Always with the ominous feelings, Lyds... never anything that actually makes me feel good though.” Stiles muttered under his breath, after Lydia closed the door behind her.

“Allison, we really need to talk about all of this.” Scott said, quietly in the corner, by the door, as he slipped his arms through his jean jacket.

“Okay, so just follow Y/N and I home and we’ll talk at my house.” Allison said, firmly, as she approached the front door with her boyfriend. “Y/N, are you coming?”

“Yea, yea… I’ll be right out.” You shut your books and slipped your nude, satin, floral-embroidered bomber jacket over your shoulders.
