Tk being a couple makes literally ZERO sense. To truly believe they are a couple is wild AF!! I for one think Tae is quite obviously straight but let's look at more empirical evidence...what Tae and JK have actually said/done...

JK and Tae both admitted to having a falling out that lasted years 2016-2021.

Tae back in 2016 during the bungee jumping episode said: "I didn't notice Jk ignoring me because he always does."

We've all seen Jk and Tae's live interactions when it's just the two of them, look at their vlives and even Bon Voyages--they struggle to not be awkward when it's just the two of them. Some can claim it's because they are hiding but anyone with half a brain knows the difference.

This list could go on and but I will stop here. This is not to say JK and Tae aren't friends...I think they have a close relationship but are quite obviously nothing more than friends. Like it's the most obvious thing ever and I don't know how this ship is so big or why people believe it. I know some ppl ship them for aesthetic purposes but to actually believe it means either one is blind...doesn't ever watch real content...brainwashed...or doesn't have a fully developed brain i.e. a child. The lack of critical/logical reasoning in that ship baffles my mind.

Taekook hanging out or standing next to each other is more proof of two people dating then GCFT, JK planning a whole ass trip for JM for his birthday, a hickey, JM traveling across the globe to be present for JK's bday, Or them spending time together at questionable hours . . .make it make sense?!?!

you sound like you missed the whole point of bts being authentic artists who share their deepest, rawest selves with their fans. their whole promotion strategy has literally been authenticity from day 1. hence all the bangtan bombs, the docus, the bangtan episodes, the youtube logs, the vlives, the lyricism, etc. anyone who hasn't forgotten this isn't fazed by two members being honest about where they stand/stood with each other. namjoon and hobi literally had a similar conversation in bon voyage hawaii about them feeling awkward around each other and wanting to fix that. yoongi and tae talked about having difficulties getting along and trying to fix it. the whole POINT pf bts doing shows like bon voyage or ITS is giving the members opportunities to bond and get closer. taekook aren't special in that regard.

To me there’s a difference between those things. And sure, without diving into it, that won’t be easily spotted. I agree that BTS are honest and they let us know their struggles and their thoughts and feelings. I also think they don’t share everything with us, and that some things are amended a bit. I think for instance that their struggles have been worse than they mentioned in the BTS book. I think they leave out the company’s share of why they struggled at times. They leave out relationships, and I don’t think all of them have been single all these years. I think members aren’t able/allowed to come out without problem. So yeah, I think they are not telling the truth about Tae and Jk.

For one, the way they spoke about their ‘problems’ in ITS is different from how Hobi and Namjoon and Tae and Yoongi adressed those things. Jk and Tae don’t actually get into it. Their talk is a reminiscing of old times and the ‘problem’ is only mentioned in Jk’s solo interview that they edited through it. Also.. the timing is super weird, since if we go by all official content of the year before (and I’d argue always) Tae and Jk are fine and show no signs of not being close at all.

The whole point of ITS, BV, Run is not allowing them time to bond.. though that is a nice side effect. If they want to bond, they can do that in private without army watching. The point of those shows is that BTS has a way to promote themselves without having to go to other shows as much. They keep control themselves. I love that actually, because I do feel the things we have seen of them are way more natural and honest than what we might’ve seen had they not opted for that.

I had told myself time after time that I wouldn't get drunk. The others were drinking, but I knew I'd regret it if I drank, and yet somehow I ended up the drunkest out of everyone. it was my first time ever being sick while in Ateez. And I already knew it wouldn't end well. I was always really good about not falling apart while drunk, but my hangovers were absolutely horrible. I'd get migraines that would completely knock me out. Making me nauseous beyond belief. So I wasn't surprised when I woke up the morning after our new years vlive feeling like absolute shit.

My head was pounding, it felt like someone was drilling spikes into my temples. On top of the pain in my head I felt sea sick, it felt like I was on a boat, swaying back and forth. the combination of the vertigo and the headache was doing nothing to aid in the growing nausea. I felt the bile rise in my throat, the acidic taste burning my throat. I tried to swallow, but my whole body seemed to reject it. I gagged, I tried not to panic, not wanting to throw up on my floor, I stood up to go towards the bathroom, but the dizziness worked against me as I lost my balance and fell down, landing with a painful thud on my floor, the jostling caused a shock wave of pain to be shot through my body and radiate through my head. Just enough to push my stomach over the edge. I gagged trying to cover my mouth, but the bile rose in my mouth and a second later my stomach flipped around and I removed my hand, expelling the contents of my dinner and a good amount of alcohol over my lap and floor. I muffled a painful sob into the sleeve of my sweatshirt, which was now covered in vomit.

Seonghwa p.o.v

I was startled awake to a thud. I looked around the room, blinking as my eyes adjusted to the darkness, a few seconds later I was able to register my surroundings and came to the conclusion that the sound was just a dream, I lay back down, fully planning to go back to sleep. But I heard something that changed my mind. It sounded like crying. I quickly got out of bed, worried. I followed the sound to Mingi's room. I knocked on the door and didn't receive an answer, which caused my concern to only grow. I gently pushed the door open, instantly being hit with a sour scent. I flicked the lights on, and was forced to fully wake up as I saw Mingi sitting on his floor, crying and covered in vomit. I didn't want to leave him, but I also knew it wouldn't be helpful I also got sick. I swallowed thickly, praying for my stomach to stay strong. I moved into the room and sat next to him, "Hey Min"

"hurts" he whimpered softly. "what hurts?"

"head, dizzy, stomach, too bright" He words were soft and mumbled, a barely coherent string. "your head hurts?" he nodded, but whimpered and pressed his head against my chest, "the lights" he said softly, "do you have a migraine?" he didn't answer, just whimpered softly. I took that as a yes, I stood up and turned off the lights, just as I did I heard him gag, and I turned around to see him expelling his stomach contents onto the carpet. I quickly moved to put the trash can under his chin, not that it was really doing that much. I felt my own stomach protest, but I couldn't leave him alone, he looked miserable, I moved behind him and began gently rubbing his back. "It's okay sweetie" I spoke softly, considering his headache. He continued to throw up, tear streaming down his face. He felt clammy, and a bit feverish, I assumed his body wasn't happy with everything he was feeling.

Once he finished I took the trash can from under his chin, "let's get you rinsed off"

"okay" his voice was small, "can you take your sweatshirt off for me?" he did so, moving slowly. I took it from him once it was fully off. I left the hoodie on the floor next to the mess of sick on the floor. I walked with him to the bathroom. He moved slowly and he was unsteady on his feet, swaying every few steps. Eventually we got into the bathroom, I instructed him to get undressed, I ran a bathtub of cool water, not trusting him to stand long enough for a shower, "promise me you won't fall asleep"

"I won't" he said, slowly getting into the bathtub. "Can I leave you alone in here for a few minutes" he nodded, barely moving his head. His eyes were closed, "don't fall asleep"

"Hurts too much to sleep" he said softly. His voice was so small, despite being one of the tallest members. I felt so bad for him. I left the bathroom and made a beeline for Hongjoong and I's room. I quickly shook the leader awake, "what's wrong hwa?"

"Mingi's sick"

"like how sick?" he asked, already getting out of bed, "migraine, he threw up a few times. He also has a fever"

"He threw up?" I nodded. "are you okay?" the leader asked, he knew how sensitive my stomach is, "yeah, I'm okay, I just didn't know how much longer I would be if I did this alone." Hongjoong nodded in understanding. "Did he get sick in the bathroom or his room?"

"Room, it's all over the floor" Hongjoong nodded, "where is he now?"

"he's taking a bath, I wanted to try and lower his fever" Hongjoong nodded, "can you go find pain medicine, water, and crackers... actually see if we have Gatorade, he needs the electrolytes" I nodded, "I'll go clean up his room. Have him move to the couch when he's done" I nodded, "sorry Joong" He smiled at me, "it's okay Hwa. not the first time, won't be the last time" He went towards Mingi's room and I went to the kitchen, finding gatorade and crackers. I set them on the coffee table in the kitchen, I went up to the bathroom where Mingi was still laying in the bathtub. his eyes closed, but he didn’t look peaceful, his face was contorted in pain and his skin resembled dough. “Mingi?” I said softly, he opened his eyes and looked at me, “do you want to stay in the bath or are you ready to get out?” 

“m ready, get out” He spoke, his voice was strained and sounded weak. “I’ll get you clothes” he made a soft sound of agreement, I left leaving the door open slightly, just in case. I went to his room, Hongjoong wasn’t in there, I guessed he went back to bed. I took clothes from Mingi’s closet and made my way back to the bathroom, as I got closer I heard, very clearly, the sound of someone getting sick. I stood for a few seconds, trying to center myself, not wanting to get sick, but also wanting to be there for Mingi. I stepped into the bathroom. 

Hongjoong p.o.v

I was coming back from the laundry room when I heard retching from the bathroom, I hurried and saw Mingi sitting on the floor of the bathroom he was leaning over the toilet gagging, a towel wrapped around his shoulders, silent tears streaming down his face. I came in and sat behind him, gently putting my hand on his back. I felt each gag rip through his body and cause his entire body to shudder. “hurts” he said softly, I gently rubbed his back, “I know, it’ll be over soon” I felt a sob tear through his body. He coughed up a wave of bile. “I don’t think you have anything else to throw up bud” 

“hurts” he said again. “I know” a few seconds later the door opened and Seonghwa was standing there, I saw he had clothes in his hands. “sorry, I went to get him clothes” 

“It’s okay” I said softly. The two of us slowly and carefully moved Mingi, helping him get dressed. Once he was dressed he helped him stand, he was still unsteady on his feet, but it seemed bringing his fever down helped to recenter him a bit. We moved slowly to the living room, where we settled him on the couch. Seonghwa got the designated “sick bucket” while I was in charge of forcing Mingi to eat the smallest bit of food, and drink the gatorade. “I know you don’t want to, but trust me it’ll help, because then you can take pain killers to get rid of your headache, then you can sleep.” He protested, “please Min” he whined softly. I handed him the open bottle of gatorade, his stared at it in disgust. I had forgotten how much of a baby he could be when he was sick. “please just a little bit buddy” he whimpered, but he lifted the bottle to his lips and took a small drink. He grimaced, but he took a few crackers and ate them slowly. During that time Seonghwa returned and sat down next to me. 

The two of us quietly urged Mingi on, until he finally ate and drank enough to take the medicine. He gagged after swallowing it. “Just try and keep it down” I said gently rubbing his back. He hummed, too scared to open his mouth. He lay down. “try and sleep” Seonghwa said, “mmkay” he said softly. Both Seonghwa and I breathed a sigh of relief when he finally dozed off. The two of us slept on the floor of the living room, just in case Mingi woke up sick. 

Mingi p.o.v

I woke up, I wasn’t sure how much later it was, but I heard voices and noticed that there was a light on in the kitchen, I also noticed both Seonghwa and Hongjoong were asleep on the floor of the kitchen. I quietly stood up and stepped over them and went to the kitchen. My head still hurt and my stomach was definitely sensitive, but I felt much better. In the kitchen I was met by San, Wooyoung and Yunho. “good morning Min” Yunho said smiling at me. I smiled back and sat at the kitchen table. “you feeling better?” San asked, I nodded, “what was wrong?” Yunho asked sitting next to me, “hangover”

“you were throwing up a lot for a hangover” Wooyoung said, “how’d you know I was throwing up?”

“you’re not exactly quiet” San explained laughing a bit, I blushed, “sorry” 

“it’s fine” they said at the same time. “but seriously, how come you were so sick if you were just hungover?” 

“I have like zero alcohol tolerance, so I’m not exactly bad when I’m actually drunk, but my hangovers are really bad.” 

“yikes, are you feeling better?”

“yeah, my head and stomach are still a bit sore, but besides that I’m feeling a lot better” 

“that’s good” I heard from behind me, I turned around and saw a sleepy looking Seonghwa behind me. “good morning hyung” San and Wooyoung said. He waved at them as he rubbed his eyes and sat down at the table next to me. I suddenly felt guilty, It was no secret to the members that Seonghwa had the most sensitive stomach out of all the members and really hated to be around people who were sick. “I’m sorry about last night hyung” he shrugged, “it’s okay, I’m just glad Hongjoong was there to help” he admitted, “where is Hongjoong?” 

“he went to his room and went back to bed” Seonghwa explained, “also, we have the day off for ‘recovery’” We all were excited to hear that, “Jongho and Yeosang are both at the studio practicing, do you want to text them so they know they can come back and we don’t have dance practice” San explained as he “helped” Yunho cook. Seonghwa nodded and pulled his phone out. “hey Mingi?” I looked over at him. “do me a favor and don’t ever drink again” the others laughed, “of trust me hyung, I don’t ever want to go through that again”

Hello, lurker here again! Have so many questions and would love your brilliant takes on it. What is your stand on their living situation? The vlive Jk is currently doing appears to be from his own dorm. But news came out that he is getting a new house that will be done by May 2024. Do you think jinkook lived and will live together? Moments (from the Grammy vlives) revealed that they do sleep together, but other moments like in bon voyage (2019) where it's revealed only jihope visited Jk or like when Jk wrongly (?) guessed about the ice cream in Jin’s fridge, to name a few. So, wondering about that since if they are together, shouldn’t they live together as well?

I will have to do a few traces post centered around this housing topic to properly explore all the hidden trails. The number of drafts drummed up, I may actually be able to stretch these posts across the 2 years until 2025....

Their whole living situation.. is a mix of past, present and future decisions. And because I'm longwinded and like to pick everything apart...unfortunately I cannot answer you succinctly while also providing ample evidence and arguments for my claims.

But if you want some very bold, very insane statements, here's my takes:

One for the past: Their group dorm aside, yes I think Jinkook lived together sometimes. The 2019 long vacation is a special case in which there's a LOT to talk about, but to make it short for now...they probably didn't meet up during that time. Also, JK guessed wrongly about Jin having ice cream in his freezer...... Jin has more than 50 ice creams in his freezer! Yikes, big wrong!!! So unbelievable wrong JK was. So, so, so wrong.... How could he have 50 ice creams? And JK proudly showing the camera he was the only one who got it wrong. btw Jin also wrongly guessed that JK preferred red to white wine... 😱😏 (Thanks for reminding me of this video btw...it's very interesting ohoho)

Pro (?) tip: when it comes to Jinkook, try observing the other 5 for more clues as to what's going on. In a group of seven, not everyone will be in on the play and they're bound to give something away.

Two for the present: Jin and Jungkook have their respective places as of now. If you do some super sleuthing into balloon refections, spoons and irises, Jin's newlywed house doesn't look the same as JK's current apartment.

Hopes for the future: The timing of events is always impeccable with Jinkook. It's only speculation now but when the puzzle pieces fit together so well, who are we to still pretend like it's not a possibility? tbh I'm disappointed in how detailed the report on JK's new house is because it implies someone selling that information to the media. Not great. The floor plans should be something unknown to the public...especially with how he intended it. And along those lines, I'm not expecting to get any confirmation that they're living together after both are back. In fact, the less we know, the better for them. My final answer is yes, living together is their plan. As to whether that will be successful, would depend on how much the external factors affect them.

I hope the last sentence answered your question if they should be living together if they're together. They're not quite like us, where we don't have to worry about watchful eyes and physical lurkers. The risk of being discovered is so much higher if they did try to live in the same house long term. But my money is on success because they've already started to take measures to ensure their privacy and freedom.

On a personal note, I'm really going to be in this Jinkook shxt for life because they're the embodiment of that saying 'still waters run deep'. Anything they do is never a standalone, random decision. It's necessary to look at the real-time context, back in time and to anticipate more information surfacing in the future. Rest assured, they always leave us crumbs. 😌

But really, JK must not be planning to leave the house ever again when he's back after the two years 👾

Doyoung isn't an unpopular member, other than maybe Europe doyoung has alot of fans in other parts of the world... Ifans aren't just white/western fans, I'm brown and South Asian but I call myself an ifan.

I still think he has to think everything over, if he wants to keep catering to Korean fans then he should be ready for a backlash when he messes up. He's human so he will mess up.

Koreans don't think Japanese and Chinese fans are equal to them. They consider SEA fans as shit and always call them xenophobic names.

A few days back a few fans were angry that doyoung was so focused on his Korean fans that that felt left out. Sooah met Jiwon through Jinsung. The two are from the same group so it was bound to happen. Honestly Soonah thought he didn’t like her at first since they didn’t talk much. Both are introverted by nature she it took a bit for the two to become close. Their friendship is wholesome though !! He is similar to an older brother so there are times that Sooah annoys him but he lets it slide because he appreciates her and enjoys her company. 

JINSUNG // CASPIAN LEE / LEE JINSUNG:

The two share similar physical features that some new fans believed they were related in some way; usually a brother and sister relationship. The two 98′ liners are honestly the closest out of the group due to their ages and the fact they went to school together for a few years. If there’s something wrong with Sooah, Jinsung knows immediately. He’s quite protective of her and once almost got into an argument with a guy that wouldn’t leave her alone while her, him, and a few other friends were hanging out one night.  

RONI // VERONIQUE DIOR / CHOI YOONSUNG

Sooah met Roni when she had moved to New York, though Sooah is from Brooklyn and Roni lived in Rochester. They went to school together for a little bit before Roni had to move again. They lost contact with each other shortly after but ran into each other during their first few trainee years and reconnected quickly. 

YUU // AINSLEY PARK / PARK SOOYUN

The two were childhoods best friends despite the few years difference in their ages. She was very upset when YUU moved to Seoul & Oregon. They kept in touch the whole way through though !! Both were ecstatic to learn they were each trainees under a company and due to some restrictions when being trainees they didn’t talk as much.

The two were friends for as long as they could remember. A few dating rumors also started about them too as well, both stated that it would be weird if they dating. Honestly their dynamic is like a brother sister relationship where they each annoy each other but they still love each other regardless.  She loves going on Eric’s podcast and he loves going on hers. 

BABY:

The two went to the same music university and shared a few classes. They also shared a few trainee months at JYP before BABY left. They still talk but due to recent schedules, they haven’t hung out in a while. 

DEVILISH:

An older sister type of relationship. They are share a few collaborations on DEVILISH’s Soundcloud + Youtube. They quickly became best friends when they were introduced to each other via Chan [STRAY KIDZ]. 

JESSI:

They sometimes that Jessi is her aunt or older sister. The two usually speak in English as they prefer it when with each other. The two are wild together. They don’t have as much time to hangout but when they do it’s always like a party.

HYUNA: 

Hyuna is her role model so meeting her was dream. Jessi introduced the two after learning about Huna being a role model to her. They’re occasionally seen eating together with Dawn and Jessi.

Shippers have selective memory and thinking, that's a fact. When JK never posted for Jimin's bday after 2019, or when Instagram was suddenly "for work" but they started taking it as Real and Definitive Confirmation the one time he mentioned Jimin on instagram. Or how one verse from a sad song was about Jimin but all the other breakup songs definitely weren't about him. Or when they were crying over JK writing a love letter for Jimin's bday in 2019 meanwhile Jimin was on vlive literally choosing a question from the millions he got and choosing to say "I'm not dating anyone at the moment". I could understand why he did this but in the end, he said it.

So yeah, pretty much all of them just take whatever piece of information is convenient and what makes sense with a preconceived idea and then work their way around it, ignoring what doesn't fit the narrative.

I said back then when it happened but people thought it was significant in some way when JK answered questions about Jimin that the comments were full of "taekook day" and how he "ignored" those, and I said it didn't mean anything. And it doesn't. When he was talking about tae in the last vlive he was pausing to check the comments and we all know what they were saying and now nobody's talking about choices lmao.

The reactions and double standards to these things are more annoying than the situation itself, maybe the reactions are the only annoying thing. It would be best if everyone just accepted "okay I'm uncomfortable with this" or "what does this say about them?" and moved on.

I like jungkook, I don't hate him, I've loved him for a long time now. But I also just recently realized that I like him better when I'm not thinking of him in relation to Jimin or anyone else. If I've never thought that he was dating Jimin, this wouldn't have mattered at all. And I wouldn't be uncomfortable and sad about something that isn't supposed to be a big deal. But because I do have higher expectations/standards for him when it comes to Jimin, I tend to feel like this. And I want to say that's just me and my silly imagination thinking that they're together, I would love to say that it's just my imagination, but I know that not everything was made up.

If they're together, I can understand Jimin. I've never had a problem with understanding Jimin or understanding his intentions and his statements to me were always coherent in every sense, except for very few situations here and there but nothing heartbreaking. Apart from Jimin, overall it's not a dynamic that I can understand fully on the present day. Maybe I understood it perfectly a year or two ago, but I don't now. And like I've said the other day, I'm tired of the back and forth and trying to make sense of some aspects of it all, so there's no point in me talking about things that I have no real knowledge of.

There's no bitterness, no bad feelings at all, I'm not one to resent anything or anyone and I know I'm partially to blame for taking this whole thing so seriously and letting myself become this emotionally attached to an idea. There's a lot of sadness I won't deny that but I'll live. And a lot of #acceptance.

I just want to say that it's something I have to leave behind because it doesn't bring me joy anymore, it hasn't been a happy experience for me for like a year and I'm sure now that I'm more comfortable not talking about their relationship as anything more than bandmates and friends, like everyone else, or them individually, BTS in general, etc. For any speculation beyond that, I just feel inadequate.

It's also not about one incident in particular, I've been genuinely feeling this way for months now and I was just slowly coming to terms with that, and these past two days talking about them were not great for me, so yeah, I've made up my mind. Maybe this sounds so dramatic and theatrical but I wasn't lying when I said that they used to be a very important and serious thing? presence? for me and I don't see it that way anymore, so I'd rather be honest and take a different approach that matches my actual feelings about them (which are not bad, I want to make that clear, just not the same as before). 🙂

I was wondering if you could talk about taekook vlives with jimin. One where tae pretends to invite them as guest. The whole live is weird for me. Taekook looking at each other straight when they know they have live audience with them. Jikook trying to tell more about how they spend more time together. I really don't understand if it really spontaneous.

Other one is with hobi and jimin. I don't understand jungkook's behaviour. He was really trying either not be in room and going straight to jimin. And that thigh/knee pinch, tae's reaction, hobi's reaction and jk's side eye to tae. What was all that about? It's not like jikook are being handsy first time so that reaction by tae and others... I couldn't understand. Also, when tae was trying to grab jk and looking at him you could see jk looking somewhere else, trying to leave. I wouldn't say jk wanted to ignore tae or didn't want to be with them, but his pulling himself from grasp showed his discomfort, maybe towards the situation.

I have generally seen him like this with tae when they are with someone else (less ppl) especially jimin. Not counting fan concerts.

So for the first part of your question, I’m assuming you’re talking about the Vminkook VLive from November in LA? I’m not sure what you mean when you say that you can’t tell if it’s really spontaneous.  You mean the whole set-up of the three of them on Live together?  Or do you think they literally pre-planned the things they were talking about?

I think the first is possible, though I don’t really see any reason to suspect that it didn’t go how it was presented: Taehyung wanted to go on Live, wanted/planned to have Jungkook there, Jimin showed up (which is so normal, I mean, the guys crash each other’s lives all the time), and Jungkook showed up a few minutes later.  Could they have planned all of that?  Sure, but I don’t really think it changes anything if they did.

As for whether they pre-planned what they talked about, to be honest I really doubt it.  I absolutely love that live but there’s no way around the fact that it’s a mess.  They had NO idea what to do with themselves.  Half the time they were on there, they were trying to figure out what to talk about.

This, to me, seems like one of those instances I’ve talked about before where people are overcomplicating it by looking for ulterior motives in what, it seems to me, is a pretty simple scenario.  I don’t know why Taekook were just staring at each other (bless them for it though).  Maybe their guards were down, maybe they couldn’t help themselves, maybe they were trying to communicate something.  As for why Jikook were talking about spending time together, I would assume that’s because they did.

We talk a lot about how Taekook are possessive over each other, but Jimin is and always has been like that with Jungkook too.  The same way that Taehyung associates himself with Jungkook, Jimin does the same thing, often bringing Jungkook up when he doesn’t have to.  It seems like lately he does it less than Taehyung does, but I assume it comes from a mix of the two of them spending a lot of time together and Jimin wanting people to know it.

I don’t know if anyone is ready to hear this lol, but Jungkook isn’t just possessive of Taehyung.  He’s possessive in general, and displays similar behaviors with Jimin -- I think it happens a lot less often, and less dramatically, and I think it’s very telling that when Vmin are interacting, the one he gets possessive over is Tae, but yeah, this is one of the reasons I think Jikook are genuinely best friends, because they do get possessive over each other.

As for the more recent Hobi/Jimin/TK live from Vegas, I also don’t really know what to make of the whole leg pinch moment.  I do think that JK never really meant to settle in and be part of the live.  It seemed to me like he swung by after working out because he knew everyone would be there in that room and he wanted to say hello or let them know he was finished, but I don’t think he really intended to stay long, which would explain why he seemed to have one foot out the door as soon as he arrived.

I suspect he went to the spot next to Jimin because Hobi was already sitting forward like he was going to move when JK came over, but he did gesture for Hobi to get out of the way lol, so who knows, maybe it means something more that he went straight to sit next to Jimin.

The leg pinching moment really stands out because it’s so quiet when it happens, I think, and everyone is so close to the camera that we can really see their eye movements.  It does seem to me like Taehyung is reacting to the pinch itself, not to the conversation they were having, because that conversation has completely stopped at that point.  And Jungkook looks directly at Taehyung as soon as it happens.  He knows to look for a reaction, as does Hobi.  It’s weird.  Honestly, I don’t see a way around the weirdness of this moment.

However, it’s also a really tiny moment, and their reactions could be to something we don’t see or understand.  There could easily be more to it that we’re just lacking context for.  Or, it could be a natural extension of Taehyung’s own possessiveness.  Like you said, Jikook are pretty handsy and don’t really seem to have much in the way of physical boundaries, but maybe that touch seemed a little too intimate to Taehyung, or maybe stuff like that is something they’d been talking about recently, or maybe he just didn’t like that it was happening on camera.  There’s just too much missing information.  We could guess forever about what might have been going on, but ultimately it’s a really tiny moment, and for all its weirdness, it doesn’t negate everything else we already know about the relationships at play.

I do think JK seemed a little less comfortable, in some ways, in that live than he’s been in some others (although actually I think that unless he’s alone, or maybe with the whole group, he always holds himself a little more stiffly on lives), but again, I don’t think he ever intended to really be part of it for long.

Also, I’ve said it before, but I think Jungkook is just less comfortable exposing his real feelings when more attention is on him.  I think him looking around the room and away from Taehyung is likely part of that (also, if you’re talking about the moment I think you’re talking about, when Taehyung had his arm over Jungkook’s shoulder and he was looking directly at JK, if Jungkook had turned to look at him, their faces would have been extremely close together and looking directly at each other, which I imagine would be uncomfortable in front of a camera for pretty much anyone).

He’s more likely to wear his heart on his sleeve when attention is dispersed between a larger number of people, or when the main camera isn’t directly on him.  I confess that while I have noticed this, I’ve never noticed it seeming to happen around Jimin in particular, so if you have examples of that, I’d love to hear them.  In any case, he could have pulled himself out of Taehyung’s hold on him at any point in the last couple minutes of the live, but he didn’t.  He stayed really close.  Also I’d just like to point out that all of this was taking place after the whole lap-sitting moment and a day before this happened:

From my perspective, I feel like all of these moments fit in really well with what I’ve talked about before.  I think Vminkook are genuinely close, I think Jikook are probably something that I would consider best friends, I think Taehyung and Jungkook are naturally pretty possessive people, which is something that would manifest itself toward partners as well as friends, and I think that while Taehyung doesn’t give a damn about being really demonstrative in his affection toward Jungkook under any circumstances, Jungkook himself is a little more reserved in that way.

Dear Thoughts On This,

So let me preface this post by saying, if you're shopping for opinions, Stormblessed95 has been part of this fandom for more than a hot minute and has damned near encyclopedic knowledge of BTS... I am just a toddler Army who has seen maaaaaybe half the official contents. So please always invest more in what Storm says, okay? She's an excellent gauge.

That being said, I did have a different perspective on this. Honestly, what I saw of this photoshoot had me concerned for Jimin. I'm used to bubbly, giggly, playful, upbeat (or at least excited and engaged) Jimin. And what I saw here was a consummate professional who did exactly what was asked of him, but was maybe not really enjoying himself.

Compare his energy in this video to, say, Tae's or Hobi's. (Footage starts at about 3:12 minutes in.) He didn't smile much, he barely looked at JK, he didn't crack any jokes or strike up any conversations in the behind-the-scenes footage that we've been shown, no dancing, no wiggles, no silly faces or experimental poses. He was there to get the job done and that was it. When his members asked him about his outfit, his voice was very quiet when he gave his reply. To my mind, his whole vibe was just "muted" for lack of a better word.

Now, there could be a lot of reasons for this that don't spell trouble.

Perhaps the whole concept of the shoot was going for a "hard" or "cold" look and he was trying to stay in character.

May he was really busy, or tired, or not feeling great that day, and just needed to conserve his energy.

Maybe he wasn't thrilled about the look and feel of the family portrait concept but he always does his best.

Maybe this was shot during the whole insurance - apartment - OST drama and he was just stressed and / or less than pleased with life in general.

To me, compared to how he normally acts, he just seemed... a bit upset. Not with his members or JK (in fact, he seemed totally fine when JK touched him and pulled him closer, and at one point, he seemed to reach out to hug JK instinctively before he realized he was supposed to face the other direction). So, like, I didn't sense he had any beef with anyone, not at all.

But I'm thinking about the sweet, shy, smiley, happy and open Jimin during this workshop Vlog... or the loud, giddy, touchy-feely, jumping around Jimin during the post-Comeback Vlive... and this family portrait festa photoshoot Jimin is a different flavor (to me). It didn't leave a great taste in my mouth, that's for sure.

Doesn't mean there was trouble in paradise or anything super deep was going on. But it definitely had me baffled, and if I had started to see too much more of that going forward, I would have been really worried for Jimin.

Thankfully Jimin nowadays seems perfectly fine; he's crazy busy on his album and all, but when we do glimpse him out of the studio, he seems to be enjoying himself and looking bright eyed and bushy tailed, which makes me happy.

So I chalk this incident up to Jimin being less "on" than I expected, but it wasn't a big deal in the grand scheme of things. And plus some of the photos look super awesome (even if the fashion choices aren't my style). I mean, they got some really great shots. So all good!

Speaking of shouting into each other’s briefcases, I’m almost certain Jk was on his knees for Jm in that infamous osaka live. Why? Because they were definitely doing something sexual, but the bed was still quite tidy which means either they were standing or someone was seated on the edge of the bed. Jk was naked but didn’t seem too pissed off on cam. After he let Tae in, he seemed kinda amused even. Which means Jk wasn’t the one on the receiving end, because I’m sure anybody who’s been cockblocked before knows - if something stops you from whatever bliss you were enjoying by barging in, you wouldn’t be able to crack a fucking smile lol. So Jk was being the giver. And who was super pissed at Tae? Yup. Jm.

But my reason has always been the really smudged lipstick. If they were just making out, the lipstick would be faded but it was all over his lips. A whole ass mess. Instead of get into a negative headspace about western collabs out performing j-hope’s solo album I’m instead going to focus that negativity into positive praise for j-hope. Because I am just very proud of him as a fan, his music, his dance, his personality, his drive and commitment, and his passion. 

It’s been made very clear that JITB was a mixtape set to be released back at the beginning of the year, but due to very last minute changes in the company it was slated to become his first solo album. But not just his, but he himself being the first member of BTS in this new era to release solo music with seemingly more support from their company than their (rap line’s) mixtapes got. That was clearly an overwhelming venture, one that came with a lot of trial and tribulation, so much so he told us he lost sleep, could barely eat, lost a lot of weight, and was just generally very anxious and nervous. But he pushed through regardless because he LOVES to perform, he loves his music, his passion as a performer shined through.

And even though I as a fan don’t feel as though he got the promotion and support he deserved, to him it was more about just doing what he wanted and saying what he needed and hoping people hear what he had to say. And to that I did, I did hear him. JITB isn’t just an album with songs I like, it’s an album with a story that further let’s me understand j-hope the artist, and Jung Hoseok the person who is behind and creates the ‘persona’ of j-hope, and trying to balance who those people are at the crazy insane level of global fame BTS has reached and what the future holds.

He didn’t set out to create summer pop hits or a #1 dance song that could go viral on tiktok, he experimented with sounds we didn’t even hear on Hope World, a sound that not even loyal ARMY like or support as shown by the stats surrounding both singles and the album as a whole. It even turned some diehard Hope World j-hope fans against him, because suddenly it wasn’t the sound they came to know and love and just wanted more of. He really did, truly, want to challenge himself as an artist, and all I can truly hope is that he feels as proud of himself now as I do after everything.

Because on top of the album Lollapalooza just can’t be ignored, nor has it within the industry (at least here in the US). It was such a resounding success, he came here and blew everyone away! Even I heard and saw general Lolla goers come and listen to him, vibe with his music, dance to his music, and just generally had good things to say about him. I saw more white dudes around me coming to check him out than I thought I would, but it just goes to show that they were interested, and what they saw impressed them enough to leave a good impression even as some of them left to go watch Green Day to later talk about it online. 

He also said that was stressful, and his vlive with Jimin made that acutely apparent. But he was, and frankly always has been, a performer to see live because he always brings his utmost passion to a stage. Not just vocally solid but of course who is j-hope if not also a dancer, who moves the way he knows best to any song, whether it be headbanging and rocking to Arson, What If..., or More, getting completely overtaken by the feelings of Blue Side or Future, P.O.P. or = (Equal Sign), to full choreo performances for Hope World, Ego, Dynamite, and CNS. Mixing his old Hope World sound and his new JITB sound to create a very unique, cool, and fun experience. 

This was not only something that only he could do, but it sets the starting line going forward into this new chapter. We have no idea who or how the next solo album will be or the rollout for that project, but we know already that it can’t nor won’t be identical to what j-hope just did, because everything about this was for him, through him. I can only pray that it’s not the last time we get to experience j-hope as a solo artist because he still has more to say, more to show, and this was just a beginning, jack is now out of the box, now where will he go? What will he do? I can only wait to see.

Thank you Annie and anon for your kind words :( You made a really good point with responsibility and how our brain basically sorts out what we are in the mood for. I didn't even think of that before but it definitely made me think after reading your answer. I guess it's just the frustration of me not being able to do everything I want, because I do want to watch, read, catch up on things but I'm never in the mood. Instead I either watch short content or just scroll mindlessly... I have been wanting to get back into reading for months because honestly I think the pandemic and everything that came with it ruined my ability to focus and really really shortened my attention span (I know this is one thing that a lot of people suffer from/with!), and I can't handle sitting for hours reading a book even though I desperately want to. I got their book, I was so excited for it and I chewed through almost the whole thing in one sitting, but then I had to leave for something and now it's been months and I only have a 100 pages left and I still haven't finished it lol. So my main concern is definitely that I'm unable to do things for some reason. But you're right, there is always something I can enjoy online after work or just be with my dog and family. It just sucks and I sometimes wonder if it'll change for the worse or better :(

I keep wanting to check out their older music when I hear them somewhere but then I never go through all of them because I keep coming back to my favorites 😂 but one day I will! I totally know the feeling!! after work, all I want to do sometimes is read a good fanfic, it’s what I’m gonna be excited about all day, but then when I come home?? literally zero energy to actually do it 😭 it’s a crappy feeling for sure. and I have the exact same problem with concentration/ a shortened attention span!! it’s why I’ve never been able to watch their vlives or now wlives attentively with subtitles, my mind will just drift off after a few minutes. I also take so many short breaks when reading something, a friend of mine has even pointed that out once, that I just stop reading and will look at twitter or tumblr for a while and then come back to the story. it’s so rare that something entices me so much that I’ll sit still and actually only focus on that for a good while (the only big exception for that is making graphics which is so interesting; I will really work on one piece for 22 hours straight with no breaks agdhjgk). so you’re really not alone my love 🤍

haha and I love that some bts songs will keep you “captive” like that (which ones though??), if you ever break free I’d love to know which older songs you enjoy as well!!! <33
