tldr; monsters already had no papers and it was chaos trying to make them legal, so another one getting lost in the mix is no big deal! considering clover is a completely different species there would have been little to no overlap with their human legal papers!!

Captain Marvel Power Sharing w/Gravity Falls characters

original post(as well as my addition) by @phoenixcatch7 + my first post based on theirs + my second post based on theirs

So, TLDR; Captain Marvel/Shazam needs to share his powers with a group of others in order to do something (most likely fight against a super difficult villain). His powers(not including magic) are: Power(lightning/flight), Speed, Wisdom, Stamina, Strength, and Courage(+invulnerability).

(if you thought i was done trying to use this idea as a thought experiment, you'd be wrong)

Characters that I've chosen are: Dipper, Mabel, Soos, Wendy, Grunkle Stan, and Grunkle Ford

Wisdom: Wisdom could be useful for any of them, but I think Dipper and Stan are the best candidates in this scenario since, while already super smart, don't have any sort of battle experience (other than fighting Bill) and might make use of the ability better than, say, Ford might (as he's been through multiple dimensions and probably seen many fights.) And I'm not giving it to Soos or Mabel because I genuinely think that would be giving them too much power (not as bad as giving Wisdom to Waddles, but similar). Wendy would use it well. I'll table this one.

Power: All 6 could use Power, but I feel like Mabel might be the best fit for this considering how well she's used flight and other powers before. But, she really isn't going to want to give up Power until she's had a bit of fun with it.

Speed: I think Wendy would get the most use out of this simply because she's already got amazing stamina, strength, and courage. She seems to favor a fighting style that I think would compliment Speed being the power she gets rather well, but I also think Courage would work really well considering how hands on she'd be.

Stamina: Either Soos or Dipper probably have the worst stamina tbh, but I'm not sold on giving either of them this power simply because I don't think either would truly benefit from it. Stan on the other hand, probably would, seeing as his fighting style seems to be street fight mixed with cage fight and "play dirty". Both styles aren't fit for longer fights (as far as I'm aware at least, correct me if I'm wrong tho.) I'd give this one to Ford if he wasn't more of a long range fighter/shooter.

Strength: Considering how often Dipper just flings himself at his enemies in order to punch them, I'm gonna say this fits him the best. Honestly, Wendy does the same thing and the only reason I'm not swapping them is because Dipper fights with his hands and Wendy seems to prefer her ax or other shorter range weapons and I feel like she'd run out of weapon to soon if she had strength. (also I get the feeling that she'd go for a high five or punch one of them lightly on the shoulder before Cap recalled his powers and just knock whoever over.)

Courage: I kinda think giving Courage to Soos might be the best option considering he's the one who - even without powers - would probably just use himself as a shield without even checking to see if he was still shielding anyone. Dipper also has a habit of trying to shield others but I think Soos would be more successful at actually preventing others from getting hit. And Soos would absolutely enjoy being a shield.

Leaving Ford with Wisdom, which I'm not sure I love, but I'm sure he'd use it well. Probably.

Our lineup is: Stan with Stamina, Mabel with Power, Wendy with Speed, Soos with Courage, Dipper with Strength, and Ford with Wisdom

How about some angst. After seeing how skilled Agent 4 is in defeating him, DJ Octavio has Maya kidnapped and uses his hypnoshades(he makes them harder to take/shoot off) to turn her into his perfect soldier. How would the squidbeak splatoon react.

Very funny fact I actually had a plot line like this in a splatoon fic I had YEARRSS ago like in my wattpad days😭 (it’s deleted on there now tho lol). I’ve also kinda made art for this idea with that one bad end agents piece I did ages ago but I never put more thought into it aside from drawing it.

Obviously this would be pre splat3 considering Octavio wouldn’t do this splat3 - post splat 3 cus busy in the desert and then redemption arc, so tldr this won’t include neo 3 or deep cut.

Most prominently Marie would fucking FREAK out. Since you word it as it’s after he sees how skilled she is at defeating him and we can see he’s obviously capable of getting out again, this would probably not be long after the end of splat2’s storymode and Marie who is still coping with losing Callie and just now getting her back would NOT handle this well, like even just realizing Maya is missing and Octavio’s out would completely set her off. Callie would be panicking almost as much as she’s also very much still recovering and now has to deal with facing Octavio all over again because there’s no way she’d let Marie get her back alone. Add Craig Eight and Three into the mix with them coming back from octo expansion; Ashley is essentially just like “oh wow cool new agent- anddd already a new member of the brainwashed club got it.” Lucky I think would choose not to get involved and leave it to the others and Craig is essentially just “WTF happened while I was gone.”

Going into a scenario where it’s farther in the future though so everyone’s already built connections: Ashley is PISSED more than anything because of her already strained and broken relationship with Octavio and this would make it a million times worse, along with being angry that their girlfriend has to go through another thing in her life. Seeing her actually brainwashed and being that perfect soldier would be what gets that anger to turn into just fear, because it’s a similar reflection of herself under Tartar’s control.

Lucky knows Maya can handle herself, but she’s more scared for her than she’s willing to admit, considering she has no memories of her former leader and only has the stories everyone else has shared of what he’s done, and she’s never gone out of her way to interact with him. Similar to Ashley, seeing her brainwashed from the glasses just reminds her of her fight with three in the elevator, but similar to then she’s more willing than the others to fight her to try and yank those glasses off her face.

I don’t think Marie would be able to even properly fight her. I think she’d still feel guilty about shooting Callie in the face even though it needed to be done, so having to actually go outright fight her daughter would be way too much to the point that I don’t think she could even bring herself to do it. Her focus would be more on trying to snipe down Octavio in the background of the fight if he’s there, and if not, letting the others handle Maya so she can go hunt him down while his “perfect soldier” is distracted, mostly because she can’t even stand to stay there and see her like that and she’d want to still be useful. Callie I think would be in a similar situation with Marie, but staying behind anyways. She knows how disorienting it is to come down from being brainwashed and I think she’d focus on that and staying behind at the fight to be there for Maya when they get the glasses off to keep herself distracted from how horrible she feels about this even happening to her.

IT WAS A TRIAL. also also. i have more tips for taking on rhythm tower if youre semi bad at rhythm like i am. i was. super bad at it in the beginning. like. i failed to get to even the 10th floor in the first 5 or so tries hsdkjhflk. but i realized some things as i tried again after s ranking some stages. so like. this is sorta a guide

its obvious but the most important thing is TIME. and you only get more time from certain things. perfect beat hits, perfect parries, enemy kills, and successful rhythm attack sequences (there could be more but these are them most important ones. in order too tbh)

just Landing beat hits is not good enough. you should also try your best to hit perfect. you dont get time for good beat hits. mixing up combos matter less in this mode, and sure the time you get at the end of the floor depends on your final score/rank, you can make up for the difference in time by continuously landing perfect beat hits. and also spamming partners helps keep your combo up, the higher combo you have, the better the score multiplier is i think, so partners can help you reach s rank anyways (sometimes). the reason i use only light-light-light-light or heavy-heavy-heavy combos IS BC I SUCK AT SWITCHING UP THE ATTACKS ON BEAT.... doing other combos fucks up my sense of rhythm that i fuck up the beat hit. (also the light attack combo is one of the faster combos)

(also i THINK certain combos give you more time? i havent had the brain capacity to study this tho.)

so yeah. tldr: make sure you hit perfect beat hits. try to follow through on combos even if youre gonna whiff an enemy. bc even if you whiff, youll at least gain time. the only time i abort out of a combo is to parry an attack

BIG TIP THO: RIGHT after you finish a fight BEFORE you move onto a new floor, DO QUICK BEAT HIT (X+A). if you land it right , YOU CAN GET AN EXTRA 3 SECONDS. and if youre fast you might be able to sneak in 2 beat hits.

okay enough about beat hits. parrying is so essential to rhythm tower bc perfect parrying gives you time. honestly theres not much i can say about this other than try to parry always. though this is coming from a guy who never dodges. (dodging around a lot is just idle time i feel in rhythm tower. you should be constantly laying on the pressure attacking so you dont lose time. better to parry than dodge)

for specials i use hibiki and pick me up. pick me up is so important. its nice that you can heal before you start a floor. but also hitting it perfectly during fights ALSO gives you 3 seconds. hibiki i use against z shield enemies when i can afford it. waiting for macarons cooldown SUCKS. i consider them time suckers tbh.

also this is my chip line up

i REALLY like high risk high return and i wish i could use it at level 3... bc you HIT SO MUCH HARDER AND THUS BEAT STAGES FASTER.... but AUGH. literally roquefort is the only reason i have it at lvl 1. it was too risky for him.... parry health is at lvl 3 also bc of roquefort. id say having either of the battery chips is pretty solid for rhythm tower to for pick me up and hibiki (or whatever special attack you use). actually maybe the other battery chip is better than parry charge now that i think about it. hm. i should swap that out for my next attempt.

oh and for kales phase two. when you cant attack him, you should still do beat hits even if its not AT him. light attack combo or quick beat him. maybe quick beat hits bc its faster. you really want to avoid idling in rhythm tower

anyways this turned longer than i thought. i hope this helps. if youre better at rhythm than i am you might fair better. but this is what i did take it on with my rhythm impaired ass. rhythm tower required you to play a bit differently i feel. at the very least it make you pay more attention to the beat hit circles kjsdfhbjdskjfhjl

ANYWAYS. RHYTHM TOWER IS HELL. BUT I LEARNED. ITS DOABLE. SO AS YOU KNOW WHAT YOU NEED TO DO. GOOD LUCK!!!!!!

OKAY SO. I have now watched two episodes and i have so much to say (long rambling post ahead, sorry)

Iñaqui is perfect. I was worried that he would not live up to the hype but he does. He captures luffy perfectly and manages to adapt luffy's personality to the new medium / the tone of the show. He is not just copying luffy, if that makes sense. Hes funny and silly and clearly having a great time which is exactly why he is the best possible casting. He just makes me smile so hard (btw my friend said he was his favorite character hehe)

I love Zoro, I wish he would smile more/be sillier but I think his sense of humor in the show works. I hope we see him call out some of his moves eventually, like, Get over youself and be silly!!!! But i love the actor and I loooove the zoro/luffy dynamic so far. I do have to say that i have mixed feelings about the change to Zoro joining the crew, i have always loved the moment when he calls luffy captain at shells town, but whatever its fine

(((Zolu shippers keep winning tho. i went insane over the "he believes in himself" bit)))

Nami.... im still not sold on the actress, she feels a bit stiff sometimes, but its better than what i was expecting based on the trailers. Not a fan of turning Nami into the "older sister" character :/ but im not surprised that they went with that angle. LOVED to see her fight alongside luffy and zoro, it is something that i wish we could see more of in the manga/anime. I love that they give her a lot more to do and we see her actually lock picks and be a thief! Im hopeful for the rest of the season and cant wait to see how they did Arlong Park. I really enjoyed her scene with Zoro when they are captured by Buggy, again i really miss seeing them interact in the original so it was nice

And that leads us to BUGGY. oh boy. I do like the costuming and his crew looked amazing, but hes too edgy for my taste. Maybe the actor is taking himself too seriously? Idk maybe i should reread the orange town chapters but i dont think buggy was ever this threatening and scary... he still had some goofy moments tho, so im hoping that as the show progresses he will be more like the buggy we know and love. My friend liked him a lot so ig it might have been the right call in order to bring in new fans.

I liked how they changed Alvida! It was totally the best way to handle her character (also, the actress is so hot, no one would have believed it if they called her ugy lol). I dont see why they took away Kobys big moment :/ I think it was a great disservice to his character

So far, I like the way they are condensing the plot. Obviously they would have to cut a lot, so im okay with how they are doing it. Orange Town felt a little rushed to me, but its okay.

LETS TALK ABOUT MR 7 THO. I fucking gasped. Did everyone already know that mr 7 was going to be on this? Cuz i didnt. It was such a good fight and i loved that they added that, they are clearly confident on getting a second season which makes ME more confident too. God i really hope we get Baroque Works.

The sets look amazing, i love the transponder snails SO MUCH, the fights are really cool and the CGI looks so good. The Devil Fruit looked too fake but eh, thats just a nitpick. The costumes are a mixed bag. I know namis orange skirt with the rings on the side is iconic but i think the actress looked silly with that outfit lol.

Okay im done HAHA sorry im going a bit insane. TLDR: I love it, im having a blast, i dont like some details here and there but im extremely positive about the show and cant wait to see the rest :)))) What did you think????

i have heard your plea for people talking to you about chnt! it's been a while since i listened but i'll ask some questions that i like thinking about...

who do you think the agents are? and what are they doing?

what's the deal with clocks? is it just symbolism or is it a plot-relevant thing do you think?

honestly i don't remember how much lore was revealed in the muse of the elephant/elephant in the room and how much is just my own theories so this is just me asking a question about canon- what's up with the camp? is it a pocket dimension, time loop, or what? was that even properly explained?

hey. i love you. OKAY SO ive discussed some of this on discord with a few friends before and here's what i've kind of put together: (spoilers obviously for all of season 1)

for the agents: personally i believe that the events of chnt arent in the present; theyve already happened. the files are what the agents are listening back on to make sense of what's happened at camp after some big 'event'. i like to believe that the 'event' was triggered so to speak at chnt and spread to the rest of the world or whatnot from there. the entity stuff is classifying who each person is, and how much of a danger they possessed/how powerful they were in an attempt to clean up and organize the disarray. the clocks? HOOOOO BOY. should i even go into this one? ok so this is completely a friend's theory BUT. to sum up and paraphrase, basically, there was someTHING related to necromancy that jedidiah worked into the clocks that is too powerful to be read plainly (as we see his father died because of it), thus meaning sydney cannot stray too far from camp. when he says that he can't leave camp because he feels sick being too far away from lucille, the theory is that it's actually the clocks keeping him tethered to the camp. the extension of this is also that necromancy isn't impossible, just EXTREMELY illegal and contraband etc etc, as well as unreasonably dangerous, which is why they push the "necromancy is impossible" line so much. TLDR: the clocks are keeping sydney alive. as for the camp: personally i think it's a mix of It's Just Like That (think gravity falls), something to do with the consistent theme of warped time throughout season 1, and as i mentioned earlier, being a retrospective of the "event" or the "limn" as i believe it's referred to by the agents. but thats a whole other can of worms. im sure some of what ive said here can be easily disproved but if im being real ive only listened to chnt twice (listened to the finale a few times tho) and only read the transcripts in part so im not all that sure about everything, but that's just my thoughts on the matter :)

I'm going to try to word this correctly, because I'd like your take and I don't want my point to be misconstrued. The tldr is: I'm kinda bummed 1989 TV is such a commercial success. Here's the long of it. 1989 was my favorite album for a long long time and I was of course, excited to check out the vault. But I feel like these numbers are based on hype, not on product. Which is... fine, commercially speaking. Go girl, make those dollars. But... the result is a receipe. What perfomed the best for a long time is a record that was heavily branded by a stunt with a boy(band). What has now performed the best was a re record dropped in the middle of a tour that was completely overshadowed by the boybranding again. I feel like the rush was a mix of weird Haylor gossip thirst, football dude easter egg hunt, return of girlsquad branding... I admit, it stings that 1989 TV didn't even get a promo interview, a music video, or anything. (No, but we didn't forget the merch drops, tho!!) And it makes me sad, because... folklore, man. That had ZERO hype. Bam. There. And we ate that shit up. We loved THE MUSIC. I want the wild ride to be the music. And 2023 feels like Taylor has fully retreated inside the Taylor Swift TM persona and we're buying the TS Brand, not Taylor's music. What I was hoping for was: more 1989 vibes on vault songs, more "directed by Taylor Swift" creative expressions. What I got was: Ken and Barbie on tour. I'm sorry this is kinda rambly. I know anon asks don't take into account line breaks so this will be even more confusing. But. Yeah. I'm just a bit bummed out and I was wondering if anyone else was a bit disapointed, too? I mean. I genuinely don't know. Do people enjoy the soap opera and I'm the only one who's only turning up to check out the shoes Taylor wore in candids and for her artistic expression? Maybe I'm the weirdo. The market certainly seems to say I'm not in the majority.

I’m so sorry you’re feeling this way, and I can absolutely relate! It can be really difficult to separate the stunts from the music on a mental and emotional level. It’s something I still struggle with occasionally, and when the music is something so personal to you, of course you can feel protective or even disappointed when the PR goes off the rails. That is completely valid!

It saddens me that any fan would feel the shine of Taylor’s actual work has been dulled by the PR schemes.

I, too, am surprised that we haven’t seen any music video for 1989 TV yet, but I’m also not completely convinced that the book has been closed on that front. Let’s wait together in hopeful anticipation 🤞

I don’t blame you at all for how you are feeling, but I think in times like these, the most helpful thing for me is to draw that mental boundary—whether it’s a boundary between the music and the PR, or myself and the PR. Sometimes, I just don’t check the news, or I scroll away quickly if I happen to see something. These stunts are a lot, so when I feel myself becoming overwhelmed, I really try to shut down my mournful thoughts with a “NOPE! That’s not good for me right now” and then scroll away, or shut my phone off, or turn on Taylor’s actual music instead.

I am in love with 1989 TV. I’ve had it on repeat since it dropped, and hearing the vault tracks especially makes me so happy. I feel like there’s a real story there—things we didn’t get to see when the album originally came out. I have to imagine that even now, there’s so much happening behind the scenes that we can’t know. I’m just grateful for the chance to peek a little farther behind the curtain for a period of time that was very special for the T Swift community.

Lastly, regardless of the PR stunts, this drop has been huge for Taylor. Perhaps we’ll never know for sure whether that’s because people have come flocking for her music itself or they’ve grown curious due to the over the top PR, but I have a feeling that Taylor doesn’t care much either way. I think she’s at peace with the way she gets her attention, because at the end of the day, people ARE listening to her music. If they saw her at a football game cheering on some meathead and got curious enough to check out 1989 TV, what they will discover is a woman with great intelligence, a depth of emotion, and an insane amount of talent. That is just to say, it will always be her music and talent that shines in the end.

I’m reminded of YOYOK, where Taylor sings I looked around in a blood-soaked gown and I saw something they can’t take away.

No amount of stunts or bad PR (or good PR!) will change her undeniable talent. Even better that 1989 is truly Taylor’s now. I just find it comforting that regardless of how people find Taylor or why they first buy her music, they will get to enjoy it for the beautiful work of art that it always is.

You got any ships that'd have people side eying you?

Uuuuuuh out of any fandom ever? Short answer: yes.

Long answer: it's a little complicated what I would define as a ship for me bc when it comes to ships I actively ship and actually think should kith I have incredibly few. But when it comes to ships where someone else will be like "these two are cute together" and I'll go "yeah I see it" and maybe rt/rb a post about them it's like...almost any ship. Y'all have watched me write hcs for almost every mix and match combination of almost every character in Survive even though I have like,,,two ships from that game. And also what some people consider side eye worthy is different from what I do.

Like,,,for example, I know I've said it before, but I don't think human x digimon ships are inherently weird. I think it varies on a partner-to-partner basis. I've seen a lot of people in gg fandom ship Ruli and Angoramon or Kiyo and Jellymon and...yeah I think that's fine. But no one ships Hiro and Gammamon because that would be weird. And I don't think I really have to explain what the difference there is. But I know for some people it's just a hard no across the board lmao.

Probably the only ship I actively ship rn that people think is weird is, for reasons I will never understand, ThomAya. For those of you not in Genshin fandom they're just a classic cute longtime best friends to lovers ship that some people unironically think is incest because Ayaka told one person one time that Thoma is kind of like a second brother to her. These same people will turn around and ship him with her actual brother tho which...what? Like if you actually think they're related or whatever how would that not, in your eyes, also make him related to her brother I DON'T UNDERSTAND YOU PEOPLE. I digress.

OH OH OH NOT TO KEEP GENSHINNING BUT FUN FACT I totally got canceled on twitter for shipping kaether back when it was implied but not explicitly confirmed yet that Aether's an adult so the "Traveler is literally minor-coded" crowd came for my ass. I tragically got blocked by one of my only mutuals who liked Digimon back then over that shit lakfdjak. Like sorry for assuming a character who had "seen the birth and death of stars" but is kinda short was at least 18. I was right though.

I know a lot of my KH ships are side eye worthy because they'll be between characters who have literally never met (i.e. most mix and match combos of the characters who are Nobodies of or replicas of or the embodiment of darkness extracted from the other major characters). Some of them are between characters who, despite literally having entire arcs dedicated to establishing that they are NOT the same person, people will still point at and call self-cest. (i.e. shipping Roxas with Sora or Xion). So again I genuinely don't think they're weird, but I know other people do.

I've seen people say it's weird to ship Pao-Lin and Lara in Tiger & Bunny because of their "age difference." They are 16 and 14. Sue me.

Here's a special segment for things I shipped in middle and high school that no one thought was weird back then but would DEFINITELY get a side eye in 2024.

I was a sebaciel shippper when I was like,,,12. Would I still ship it today? Probably no. But hey it was 2013 and I'm pretty sure the show WANTED you to ship them.

Almost any hetalia ship. I am not even joking, almost every character in that entire show was related somehow or another. It was like 2015. I was not immune to smashing pretty characters together and shouting "now kiss." I also was not doing deep dives into whether or not the immortal personifications of countries were technically related or had age gaps, I'm sorry.

Totally shipped Yoichi and Gekkouin from OnS. I mean my main ship was kimiyoi but multishippping is real. To be honest it was just a classic case of being a teenager and shipping the character I related to with the character I thought was hot. It was not any deeper than that.

TLDR: if any of y'all do now or ever have shipped anything weird, I'm not gonna judge you for it. I literally do not have the right to.

Stupid question but which one re-evolved first, Duskull/Dusknoir or Treecko/Grovyle?

First, don't say it's a stupid question, I would love to share ideas for the au and talk more about it, especially 'cause I personally am not very creative on my own, so interaction helps immensely.

Second, gonna be honest here, I actually have no idea. I haven't really put much thought into actual plot lmao. The AU doesn't even belong to me really, I just took jsab's one and came up with little interactions that I found funny and/or cute (in my defense, i was starving for actaeonshipping content xd). I didn't plan an actual timeline/story, and I feel that way anyone can come up with their own interpretation of it, which is fun. (and also less complicated cause the logistics of a swap au would be,,,,,,,,,,,,complicated i think).

However, since you asked, I am going to list some random ideas I had about how it could happen, which sort of mixes with possible story beats ig. Sorry beforehand for the length and change of subject lol.

tldr: imo it depends on what story you wanna come up with and whatever serves it better (i.e. you want it to happen post game, so you follow the game's plot; you want it to happen during the story, so sth weird happens, etc.)

So in PMD:EOS world, pokémon evolve through the Luminous Spring. The player can't evolve until the spring regains its light once the flow of time is fixed. So either we have Grovyle and Dusknoir re-evolving after Dialga is defeated, respecting canon, or we tweak it a bit to make it more interesting.

A way to alter the spring method would be by stealing a headcanon I saw someplace I can't remember (oops): that pokémon, while they usually rely on the Luminous Spring, on very rare occasions can evolve through high levels of stress to protect themselves. I personally like this theory because it explains why there are evolved pokémon in the future, like Grovyle and Dusknoir themselves. They were born in a paralysed world, with no magic skinnydipping, so what's up with that.

When I say this ties in with story beats is because I feel the choice here can make two different versions of the swap, 1. treecko and duskull literally take the hero and partner role to the very end (plus a face off against darkrai ig??), or 2. respect the game's kind-of-chosen one narrative by having partner keep their relic fragment, and making grovyle and dusknoir's main mission to help hero and partner work together again. The problem with this AU is that, if taken seriously, it would need a DEEP reconsideration of the game's events and characters. When does the swap occur? Why does it happen, is Darkrai involved again? If Hero and Partner are still there, does that mean the story of eos happened beforehand but had a bad ending? How do two characters whose actions are immensely influenced by their knowledge of the future act when stripped of their canon motivations? Do they keep behaviours and reflexes (perhaps theyre a bit more ambivalent with violence/more morally gray than hero and partner) or are they a blank slate? Do they feel compelled to evolve because they have a weird feeling that they're in a body strange to them? This is why I only draw the fun two panel interactions!

Leaving all that aside, here are some scenarios that could happen (...because we are just making shit up so anything can happen):

They evolve through struggle, like I presume they had to do in the future. Maybe Treecko evolves sooner, on account of being more reckless and referencing his status as a starter pokémon that evolves at level 16. Once Duskull evolves he prolly carries the team for a while, tho, since Dusclops was supposed to be a fully evolved pokémon in gen 3, and is iconically stronger than Dusknoir when it carries an eviolite. Then again, Grovyle and Dusknoir in game are way stronger than they would be in a mainline game, so perhaps they maintain some muscle memory that helps them in combat (funny how two amnesiac pokémons, who barely remember their own names, are somehow so accostumed to battle, huh, weird). I'd say the best place for an evolution would be the dark future, maybe they escape from prison without facing the sableye -cause a prison cell isnt that big of a deal for someone who knows dig and someone whose actual pokédex entry is "It can go through walls!"- and evolve in a fight against partner?

The evolution doesn't follow game rules at all, instead it's a physical manifestation of their old memories. Hero never remembers their past (sorry grovyle), but this is pure self indulgence so maybe the other two do, or at least are more encouraged to do so or get more information (celebi for grovyle, and dialga for dusknoir).

Following that last point, Celebi and Dialga, two time travelling pokémon, actively interfere to help them get their memories back/get them up to speed with the situation, each to their own interest. Perhaps this involve a separation arc between Treecko and Duskull, à la Gates to Infinity. This would serve to make them less dependent of each other, and mature on their own for a while, differenciating them from hero and partner.

They don't re-evolve, they save the world/help save the world like hero and partner would do.

My favourite option is Dialga helps them somehow with time magic after the battle is over and time is fixed. The sole point of it is getting Dusknoir and Grovyle -with their memories back- to awkardly leave together on a slow stoneship that shoots rainbow, for the sole reason that it would be hilarious.

ive been keeping up with tmagp's transcripts, and i have been liking the case files/statements part of each episode, but regarding the main plot, I feel like it's going wayyyy too fast. we're barely into a quarter thru the season (cuz it's supposed to be 40 ep per season) and sam is already preparing to go to the ruins of mag institute and investigate. like what happened to taking your time in telling the story??

and it comes at the expense of properly developing your characters too. like w tma, there's a build-up in establishing the characters, and providing hints of their dynamics without outright shoving it in your face. the interruption where Sasha and Jon talk about the pronunciation of calliope in Strange Music was endearing, even for me when I read the transcript (yes I only read the transcripts, not listen- i'm not into listening to podcasts). and then in ep1 of tmagp, alice establishing herself as the "funny" character by saying the "Big Milk" line fell flat for me. It didn't even give me a sensible chuckle.

(although her calling the Martin-sounding voice a whiny toad actually made me at least smile, so ill give her that)

and as for the case files/statements part of tmagp, i actually find them interesting. they're not the statements from tma, but the new perspectives, per say, in reading of the horrors- through internet forums, blogs, and even coursework- I feel has a quite a bit of potential in portraying the horrors. tho, could just be me being starved for decent horror. i think my favorite case file from it is Running on Empty's (ep8): i know liminal spaces are a bit of a fad nowadays, but i still like em for how empty they are and should be: backrooms my beloathed. in general im hoping for more horrors revolving around architecture specifically (<- house of leaves fan)

sorry, had to get that all out. tldr: tmagp feels like its being rushed to hell and back good lord

i won't try and persuade you to listen to the episodes if that's not your thing, but if you ever did feel inclined to try a podcast i do think that tma is a really incredible example of a very very very well done audio drama. a huge reason i dislike most other longform podcasts is that i think their execution is just.... poor. whereas alex talks about studying the art of radio dramas to do tma and it REALLY. REALLY. REALLY. SHOWS. like just as an exercise of craft i find tma to be really uniquely exceptional in that way. even in the early seasons where the sound mixing is muddy because they had no budget.

In honnor of the 20th anneversary of Evanescene's album and it now being back on store shelves, have some thoughts I have on it!

I used to listen to it, back in the day lol. When it came out. I can remember vividly my mom singing it in the car. It was one of the few things that we were allowed to listen to that wasn't 'traditional' christian music.

At the time I didn't even know what any of those words meant. I was 5 afterall lol. But growing up, my view on faith was a weird one. I thought it was a cool concept but, to me, it felt like an interesting book that I wanted to write my own twist ending for. I played pretend like *i* was the one coming back from the dead and stuff. (Yk normal kid things)

And now, looking back 20 years later, despite this album and artist being a 'christian' band, their music still holds up. To me at least, it's probably because they kept the more epic side of things. Being a literal broken person and needing help. Yk all the immagry from the song Tournequte. It still is so cool to me because, even tho I firmly don't follow any religions, the message is still interesting to me and I can honestly interpret it any way I wish. Kinda like having a friend who's christian and they get comfort from that, and me being like, that's good I'm really glad you have this thing that comforts you. yk?

I love the mesh of genres too. I'm bad with names and this is jsut a ramble so I'm doing no research to make this post. But I love how it's a good mix of grunge, early early emo, and christian rock. Like the songs Fuck and they have that signiture flare lots of rock ajacent genres had around the time it came out. The cool beeping at the end of Going Under, I think. And ofc the infamous Wake me up duet thing. I read somewhere they were pressured into that by their label, having a guy do a 'rap'. But it was very iconic and to this day is one song by them that I guarantee everyone probably knows. Or at least can recongnize. I also love how you can have heavier songs like Bring me to life and then the super soft ones like My Imortal. Which, the latter always brings me to tears bc it's so fucking beautiful and haunting and Defined my fucking emo phase.

Also, also fuck if I don't talk about the vocals I will die. I grew up listening to this album and her others. I know the words by heart. I knew them today in the car listening to this cd even tho I havn't played any of these songs since highschool (2013-2017 era). They stuck with me. I taught myself to sing by parroting these songs. And I don't think anyone would disagree with me about how fucking *amazing* of a singer Amy Lee is. She is incredible and honestly I respect her so much. She went out and wrote these songs about loving yourself and finding yourself and fuck what everyone else thinks. It's like, yeah theres the undrlining of god saving you but she also doesn't sound like the majority of the christians nowdays yk? She's not condeming anyone else. She's simply saying that she found comfort and herself through That and that's what saved her. And honestly I respect that so much.

TLDR: Despite being 'christian rock' this album and band are So good and honestly people who call it cringe clearly did not listen to the same album lol

by far, my favorite thing about ur doggification of the hermits is that its highkey helping me try to figure out what my pupper is. shes certainly a mutt, very Creature, and were currently thinking she's some heeler variety? like she's definitely got some heeler tendencies but its hard to tell bc shes a big goofer. and also she is DEFINITELY not a shorthair. a few things that make it tough to tell with her is she has a Really Big & Floofy tail, and all the breeds/mixes that i can find that look like her do not, and her mouth is on the bottom of her snoot like a borzoi. even though her snoot is not particularly long. but it is sloped more than my other dog's?? and more sloped than most other dogs' ive seen.... maybe she does have some borzoi in there??? weve also been thinking border collie bc shes very border collie-esque,,

ANYWAY sorry for the ramble about the Silly, i got distacted and almost forgor to ask, any thoughts on someone being a Black Mouth Cur? my other pupper mentioned is a black mouth cur mutt, and i think it'd suit hypno pretty well! looks-wise for sure, i dont think that needs explanation, but personality wise im not completely sure because i also do not watch hypno but i have seen quite a few interactions with him because I watch xb and from my understanding it works pretty well?? idk its ur au

Omg!! Sound like a delightful creeture with lovely snoot!! If she has a big puffy tail she might have some Spitz in her, maybe some kind of Lurcher if she had the sighthound muzzle! This is so interesting bc i while learning about breeds i tend to do the same. My aunt has a mutt i think she might have a bit of collie/heeler in her too. And i think it mostly shows by her intense need to bark and white collar-like markings on her neck kdjrjt ig well never know but it's fun to try figuring out!

And ohh i never heard of that breed! Looked it up and it doesn't even have a wiki page in my language to see if the translatd name would ring a bell. It does look like it suits Hypno for looks tho!!! I really like it! :0 But i do have to say i was looking for a dog with brindle/markings coat so i can play with a pattern that's like.. "hypnotizing" dljdkffk but i genuinely liked the looks of this one! It's going on the list!
