I saw that you were taking commissions and i hate to burst your bubble but you can't actually ask for money to write3 fancfic because then it opens you up to being sued because the only reason fanfic isn't copyrighted/stopped is because the fic writers aren't making any money off of the characters but if you do commissions you are getting paid to write using others characters which leaves you wide open to law suits i thought i'd just let you know

hey! gonna talk about this a little bit. if anyone knows more about this than me and wants to make any corrections or additions, let me know! the short answer is that it’s a bit of a grey area

to the best of my understanding, personal and individual commissions, the kind you see many authors on here talking about, aren’t really considered a threat to intellectual property (the original content). this is because there’s no mass distribution for profit. fan artists sometimes make their entire living off fanart commissions because it’s a one on one transaction, and fanfic commissions are no different.

the only solid rule in place as of right now is that at you can’t promote commissions (e.g. link your ko-fi or paypal) on your ao3 profile, because then yes that does open up legal issues, as the site is a not for profit organisation, technically.

laws about intellectual properly are there to stop mass distribution and plagiarism of original content. if i published a fanfic traditionally and earned a shitload of money every time a copy was sold, then yeah that would be very illegal. as far as i know? writers who are offering the option of payment if people want to request personally tailored fanfics are fine. if you want to get specific, it’s all technically against copyright laws, even if you’re not being paid for it, but most original creators don’t really bother themselves that much over it

to summarise; fic writers being paid to write a fanfic for someone else's personal enjoyment isn’t going to impact the original author's income, so you’re pretty much fine as long as you’re not yelling about it by promoting through any major platforms like ao3

Hey! New writer here!

Hello!!! I’ve been writing for a while and through friends I’ve been encouraged to create an account for it.

I write mostly Arcana, Bnha, Demon Slayer, and Black Butler fancfics but I’ll write for just about anything I’ve seen. Ask for it and if I haven’t seen it I might give it a watch. I appreciate recommendations anyways!

On top of arcana fanfics I also do tarot card readings! All of my single session readings are $10 dollars and under with detailed descriptions of each card and answer. Pricey readings always irked me I’m just here to help and listen. All other price details are in the link in my bio.

You all have every right to be upset. Don’t feel silly for caring about this. Yes, it’s a tv show, but it meant a lot more than that to a lot more people. You’re reading wasn’t wrong just because it wasn’t the writer’s intended theory. Shows/art is meant for the consumer/interpreter and can be whatever you want it to be. That being said, what we saw in the show was real. They put in many hints towards a gay romance that many people saw, and yet it amounted to nothing. They queerbaited us. It’s not our faults and we can’t blame ourselves for seeing ourselves in these characters and for trusting moftiss. The writers are at fault here.

It’s okay to be upset and frustrated. Be outraged. Demand more. We deserve better writing. We deserve better cgi in 2017. And you’re damn right we deserve representation instead of cheap gay jokes.

I know you’re all disappointed and I am too, but you will be okay. Sherlock and John belong to the people that love them the most: all the fancfic writers and artists and meta writers that understand them the best. Johnlock will live on in fandom and in future adaptations. The community is still here for you. It will be okay.
