Hi there! Are there any headcannons about Douxie and Morgana before she switched sides? Or even Arthur amd Douxie?
Oh, Douxie and Morgana is something I wish we had more of.
Initially, Morgana was annoyed by the fact that Merlin got another student - not because she had something against Douxie or felt insecure that her master was looking for someone to substitute for her, but because she believed that Merlin absolutely sucked as a master and didn't want him to control another unfortunate soul. Because of that, initially, Douxie thought that Morgana hated him and tried to throw him out of the castle.
Eventually, those two had a proper talk, and Douxie realized that he was wrong and Morgana actually liked him.
It greatly hurt Douxie that Merlin and Morgana fought all the time as he couldn't pick the side there.
Morgana actually liked Douxie's music and encouraged him a lot.
She also occasionally tried to convince him to switch masters but without being too forceful. Besides, Morgana is also the one who advised Douxie to try things Merlin disapproved of (much to the latter annoyance).
Morgana switching sides actually hurt young Douxie a lot. Still, he had enough time to process all of that before encountering her again during his time travel.
When Morgana processed Claire, she didn't realize that the waiter was Douxie as she thought it was someone with a similar appearance (as she wasn't sure that Douxie had survived for that long).
As for Douxie and Arthur, I believe that Arthur only tolerated Douxie because he was Merlin's apprentice, and well, I don't think that Arthur ever considered Douxie dangerous.
Douxie on the other hand, didn't have a good opinion of Arthur, and he absolutely loathed the system Arthur built because that one forced him into hiding.

Tales Of Acadia - King Arthur
I find this version of the character fascinating. Grieving, fanatical, villainous, heroic, tragic, evil, beloved. ToA Wizards interpretation of the King Arthur legend is just so interesting and i had to draw hum.

Incorrect Quotes for the Ben 10 Trollhunters Crossover.
Jim: This world is so much bigger than you think it is!
(Says this or something similar to Gunmar, Morgana, Colonel Kubritz, Arthur, Bellroc, Skrael)
Very very accurate. He most likely said it to Arthur as a jab before turning into Gutrot. Man left everyone in that throne room dazed like a fart in the wind with that stinky one liner.

The young and old Merlins and Arthurs from the Tales of Arcadia series and the Red Shoes and the Seven Dwarfs film. I know that many aren't fund of the ToA versions of Merlin and Arthur, while a few others have come to love their young Red Shoes counterparts.

Heart of Stone chapter 26
Douxie, Jim and Claire deal with the fact they are responsible for Strickler’s curse, as well as finding out who Deya is and getting back to their own time.
But not before taking part in the Battle of Killahead bridge.
A fairly short chapter, but I hope one that is still acceptable. Likely future chapters are going to be shorter than before, with a few exceptions.

Angst/Horror prompts: “I gave you everything and this is how you repay me?” for Morgana and “Breathe slowly, show no signs of fear.” for Mary.
Fury, cannot properly describe her simmering mood.
Morgana has been many, many things, a docile princess, an apprentice, a witch, a traitor, the mother of monsters. The list could be parchments long, she’s choosing not to dwell on it.
But now as she is knelt here, forced into a shallow bow before the throne her father once sat, a cruel man in itself.
She’s next in line to befall a horrific fate under the crown.
“Death isn’t enough,” Arthur decrees, pointing Excalibur down at her, in his shadow, below him, “not for you, dear sister.”
She fights the sneer trying to twist her lips. Showing him her discontent will only fuel his pride. And its quite a wide expanse, he’s always been too prideful, even as children.
The manacles dig into her wrists, cutting at the skin, restricting her movements.
Even the knights stay a wary distance away, their swords glinting in the harsh sunlight through the stained windows.
“I gave you everything and this is how you repay me?” She asks pointedly.
Her filthy half brother raises a brow. “Everything? Is that how you dictate treason?”
“Treason,” Morgana laughs hoarsely, “I saved your life too many times to account for.”
“You freed those trolls! You and your magic wielding accomplices!” He bellows and the people nearest flinch, unsteady with the kings rage.
Her handmaiden is amongst the crowd, good, they hadn’t suspected her despite her hand in the freedom of the trolls. Dark eyes scowling up at Arthur, waiting.
Morgana can sense the darkness wafting closer to the girl, intertwining it’s vines of plague upon her.
It seems she’s already decided her fate all on her own, shard of dark magic included, Morgana will let her walk her own path, even if it falls into oblivion.
Some cannot be stopped, their will too powerful to calculate what they could lose, or perhaps they don’t care.
“Your slaves?” Morgana hisses, acknowledging her brother, “Those you bound unlawfully?”
Arthur raises his chin, “Creating those creatures has been the final straw, those hideous amalgamations of human and filth.”
“They are the bridge, a sign of waning times.” She calmly announces. “Your reign is ending brother.”
“Preposterous!” Arthur swings Excalibur, red in the face with his rage. “The dungeons will be the last walls you see, your days end in a cell, wasting away.”
“Merlin, I want her taken—“
It seems then Arthur finally realizes his powerful wizard was never in the room to begin with, what he thought was his shadow wastes away into the dark, a mere diversion.
Morgana smirks.
“You’ve underestimated me again brother, all of you have,”
Murmurs fill the crowd, her handmaiden has stepped back, weaving through the bodies to end up at the doors, the lock swinging between her digits menacingly.
The girl is an incredible listener, Morgana will give her that and as she hears it click into place, locking each and every person in attendance inside, all the corrupt dukes and duchess, nobles.
The cuffs are weak magic, Merlin’s power is great yes. But it cannot hope to defer the sheer magnitude of hate when infused with magic.
Iron slides off her wrists as she rises, and she gets the most satisfying experience of watching Arthur’s face twist in horror, her hand rising to aim a broiling gold blast straight at his chest.
“And that will be your downfall.”
(That one scene in the Wizards intro where they have a proper battle in the throne room would have been so sick, and this kinda..slots into Tulips of Time? In a way)

For au ask roleswap au with Morgana and Merlin trading roles as well as Douxie and Claire
Claire was the daughter of lesser nobles, and her powers awoke when Morgana was visiting their castle. If Morgana hadn't been there, then she would have been executed. Instead, Morgana made Claire her apprentice.
In this AU, Merlin wanted to be the most powerful wizard left standing, so he didn't go against Arthur. Morgana, on the other hand, was actively working towards peace. Merlin didn't like that, so he tried to silence Morgana. What he didn't expect was for Arthur to side with his own sister.
If he couldn’t rule Camelot, Merlin wouldn’t let anyone rule. Therefore, he sided with Gunmar. Morgana needed an amulet capable against Gumm-Gumms, but she didn’t want humans to continue to oppress trolls. She wanted to give them power that they could choose what to do with.
The Amulet of Eventide is gold with a purple gem. So sad that it clashes w/Jim's style 😔
Morgana knew she wouldn't be strong enough to actually defeat Merlin, so she sealed him away. She hoped that the Heartstone (which is green in this AU btw) would drain him of his power so she could eventually come back and destroy him for good.
Throughout the centuries, Claire played many roles and went by many names. She also befriended a dragon named Archie.
Douxie was the orphaned son of a single immigrant woman who was murdered. He grew up in foster care before being adopted by Ophelia and Javier, who had given up on having a biological child (Enrique was practically a miracle for them).
Jim still tried out for Romeo. Mary played Juliet, but the in-cast romance was actually between Jim and the player of Tybalt, aka Douxie. (Under the Grit-Shaka’s influence, Jim tried to rewrite the play from Romeo and Juliet to Romeo and Tybalt. It didn’t work.) They tried dating for a few months, but by the time Jim went to the Darklands they had agreed that they were better off as friends.
Merlin doesn't create changelings. What he creates are his knights, who used to be humans or trolls but become corrupted. The most powerful of these knights was Angor Rot. Why was? Well...
Due to stealing Angor's Ring of Avalon, Douxie’s powers as a wizard awakened. However, this also connected him to Merlin. Thanks to his friendship with Jim and Toby, Douxie became the first Knight of Merlin with free will.
After defeating Merlin, Douxie stayed in Arcadia Oaks so that he could recover from his time as a knight. He was not happy to go back in time with Claire to Camelot where Merlin was still alive and scheming.
send me an au and i’ll give you 5+ headcanons about it

come to think of it, tales of arcadia and bbc merlin would make a disturbingly fitting crossover.
#tales of arcadia#bbc merlin#toa#i mean. think about it. au where the merlin douxie and the gang finds in wizards is bbcm merlin who decided to fuck off and take like a#century-long nap or smth (and also looks old because being dragoon was good for intimidating people) and instead of being kind an asshole#he's just this. grumpy cantankerous old man that hits people over the head a lot#and when everyone goes back in time they ACTUALLY go back to the time when UTHER was still reigning and instead of the running gag being#douxie running around watching his younger self be a dumbass douxie isnt even there and they get to watch merlin be an incredibly powerful#twink instead. douxie is like YOU DIDNT TELL ME YOU AND KING ARTHUR WERE A THING and merlin temporarily turns him into a toad.#this leaves open the possibility for brilliant scenarios such as douxie (who in this au would have been merlin's apprentice#far post-arthur-mortem when gwen was queen and magic was allowed in camelot) seeing gwen as a servant and being like ''QUEEN GUINIVERE??!?''#also instead of merlin being all insifferable about douxie having to ''earn'' his wizard staff he'd just be like GODDAMNIT YOU DONT NEED A#STAFF TO BE GOOD AT MAGIC. I ONLY HAVE THIS THING BECAUSE IT GIVES ME AN AIR OF GRAVITAS#idk how the trolls and trollhunters would fit into this but i just think it would be neat.#it has the potential to make the whole plot with uther marrying the troll funny as hell tho. funnier than it already was anyway#or wait possibly less funny actually. because in this situation trolls would be all civilized and cool and shit AND they'd be ANOTHER entire#group that uther's been trying to master. so it's yet another instance of ''oh woe one of the groups the king commited mass genocide against#is foiling a plot against him. moral conflicts aaa''#bbcm/toa

Hi! What do you think would happen if Jim was born as Gwen and Arthur's kid, but somehow still meet Claire and Toby?
Oh, that's what I call 'let's give Jim an even messier biological dad'. So, in this AU, Jim is a baby when Gwen dies, so technically he doesn't remember her well enough. Much like in the canon, Arthur starts a crusade against the supernatural and pretty much neglects his son, visiting him only occasionally. Morgana, on the other hand, spends way more time with her nephew (partially because of guilt, but she also genuinely loves Jim). Jim grows a bit, and much to his own horror, Arthur realizes that his only son takes after his mother too much when it comes to curiosity about magical creatures. Jim keeps sneaking out of the castle into the forest and befriending all kinds of magical beings there (including Nari). He also sets free inhuman prisoners rather regularly. And Arthur, instead of reconsidering his stance, is now bound by fear that he will lose the last memento of Gwen. He goes to Merlin looking for the best working solution to keep Jim away from 'dangerous beasts', and this is where those two commit something unforgivable. They put Jim in a time stasis until Arthur obliterates all non-humans.
Unfortunately, nothing goes like planned as Arthur dies and Merlin goes to sleep without giving any instructions how to release Jim.
Barbara in this AU is also from Camelot times. She's Jim's nanny and secretly a witch. She is furious when she learns what Arthur has done to his son and swears to find a way to free Jim. She isn't a powerful or knowledgeable magic user, so it takes her centuries until she manages to do it several years before the beginning of the events in Trollhunters.
As Jim is still a kid, he has less trouble adjusting to the modern world. He is still sad because most of the people he knew are not around anymore (though it's easier with Barbara, who is a true mother figure to him, around). Besides, Jim dreams to become a noble knight which is impossible in the modern world.
On the other hand, Jim still befriends Toby like in the canon, though he doesn't tell him about his origin right away (that happens only after Toby learns about trolls).
As for Jim and Douxie in this AU, those two never met in Camelot times, because technically Jim should be older than Douxie (he would have been an adult by the time Douxie became Merlin's apprentice if Merlin had never trapped him). However, as Jim is physically and mentally the younger one now, Douxie takes over the elder brother role for him when those two meet. It happens soon after Barbara breaks the time stasis as she is friends with Douxie. Initially, Jim is a bit afraid of Douxie as he is Merlin's apprentice and Jim fears that he might be back to that time trap. He opens up once he realizes that Douxie helped Barbara with finding the way to free him.
I think that most of the canon event will still happen. The differences will be:
Jim knowing about the supernatural. He's also not a big fan of fighting for 'the glory of Merlin'. That is his main reason why he wants to refuse the mantle at first. However, later Jim realises that no matter what kind of words are used, the amulet is still meant to protect.
Jim still have some chivalrous mannerisms from his Camelot times and Claire finds it cute. She also teases him about being a prince (as he's is one) and Jim wants to die of embarrassment.
Douxie is obviously involved earlier and Barbara knows about Jim's trollhunting from the very beginning. Barbara still starts to date Strickler and Jim is reluctant to tell her that Walter is a changelling once he learns that. So Barbara still gets bond to Strickler by Angor and only learns the truth later.
When it comes to awaking Merlin, both Jim and Barbara (especially Barbara) are against it. Jim gives in after realizing that they have no other choice.
Morgana doesn't want to harm her nephew, but she thinks about trapping him somewhere so he isn't involved.
Merlin doesn't expect his last Trollhunter to be King Arthur's son. After all, he knows that his champion should become a half-troll, but doing it to his friend's son can be quite a betrayal. Not that it stops Merlin though (or make him think for an alternative).
the reunion between Jim and Arthur in the past is a royal mess. Jim don't even want to confess to his father he is his son (and honestly, both Blinky and Strickler are better in that role).
Jim also can't succeed Excalibur at first because he connects that one to his father too much. He also doesn't want to be a king as he doesn't want to become like his father. Though Aja's example makes him reconsider.

Haunted by Taylor Swift
(Morgana LaFey, Arthur Pendragon)
A/n: silly little drabble that I wrote the other night 💖
Word count: 533
You and I walk a fragile line
I have known it all this time
But I never thought I'd live to see it break
Morgana would sit at the end of the long table and watch his brother eat. She would observe him tear the meat with his sharp teeth and ask herself if, one day, she would be the meat on his plate, if one day, her brother would hang her on the wall amongst the other beast he had slaughtered.
“Is there something wrong, sister?” Arthur cleaned his mouth with his cloth.
Every movement was carefully chosen to not upset him.
“Of course not, brother” she smiled.
It's getting dark and it's all too quiet
And I can't trust anything now
And it's coming over you like it's all a big mistake
Morgana rushed to her room. She wanted to be there before the tears that were burning her eyes would fall. Merlin had rejected her request for help once more. She needed his help to remind her brother that magical creatures weren’t dangerous but the wizard ignored her once again. She wondered when the old man had forgotten what he was. What it meant to be a wizard in a place like Camelot.
In the darkness of her chambers, Morgana cried. Cried like never before. Whatever was the outcome of this war she would lose.
Oh, I'm holding my breath
Won't lose you again
Something's made your eyes go cold
“Brother, please” she begged.
“I think you had forgotten your place, sister” he spitted the word like it was acid in his mouth “You better don’t return with a clean sword”
Morgana looked at her brother horrified. Where had the boy that would protect her from evil with his wooden sword had gone? Who was this angry man that had taken his place?
Come on, come on, don't leave me like this
I thought I had you figured out
Something's gone terribly wrong
You're all I wanted
Come on, come on, don't leave me like this
I thought I had you figured out
Can't breathe whenever you're gone
Can't turn back now, I'm haunted
Morgana felt the cold metal slice her hand. She looked down hoping that it was all her imagination, that their game was taken a little too far and soon they would be called for supper but she was wrong.
Suddenly, the world slowed down. A scream erupted from her chest. Her arm wouldn’t stop bleeding, her hand was no longer there.
She looked at her brother with the same disdain he had seen her all those years as she took a step back.
Stood there and watched you walk away
From everything we had
But I still mean every word I said to you
“No” he screamed, tears falling from his eyes.
His sister fell from the cliff, her head hitting the ground making a noise Arthur would never forget.
He stood there, watching her sister's lifeless body being carried away by the tide “No” he whispered as the sea swallowed the last person he loved.
He cursed God, he cursed himself. Magic had taken everything from him and he would put an end to this.

can you imagine that troll Arthur is actually the true king Arthur pendragon reincarnated as a troll carrying in his veins the blood of the noble king and is the only one who can wield the Excalibur fighting the green knight which is just an empty body full of resentment and hate? also troll Arthur is good and corrects his mistakes
Tumblr media
That would honestly be a nice irony. In fact, they actually done something similar in various media where the supposed King Arthur causing bedlam isn't Arthur. Hell, they did it with Sonic and the Black Knight.
Anyway back on topic, this would've been better than what we got in Wizards. The king being stuck as a troll and actually learning from his mistakes he did in his previous life. Arthur's final test of sorts is to slay his hatred taken physical form.
Now on a similar topic, I wholeheartedly believe that Jim's Beast form is actually Arthur's Troll form. What the Trollhunter became had been the king's own fear just thrusted onto another. Everything about Beast Jim feels too much like Arthur overtaking Merlin's spell.

Do you ever...think about what Wizards would have been if Jim hadn’t had the shard stuck in his chest?
If Jim had been as badass as he was during the fight with Gunmar?
I need a crack version of this

I need some Hot Crow Takes on what was the worst example of Villain Decay throughout ToA. also on what Leonora Janeth uses in her hair
send me a meta prompt (currently closed); thank you for the ask!
the arcane and esoteric mysteries of janeth's haircare regimen are beyond my humble (straight-haired) supposings. but for the villain decay? oh, morgana, hands down.
gunmar is spooky, but a bit of a ham. for most of trollhunters, he’s also relatively distant. bular is a lot closer, and much more of an immediate threat, but he’s always ultimately subordinate (either to stricklander or his father) and he does, in the end, get got by a teenager. angor is initially presented as terrifying, and rightly so, but even if he becomes sympathetic he’s always formidable; stricklander starts out pretty nefarious (especially if you think about some of the implications of e.g. feeding bular a human security guard) but is of course, in proper gdt fashion, domesticated by wuv. obviously i have niche side blorbo brain fungus re: the arcane order but it's hard to assess their actual "villain decay" without having to think about That Film. at any rate, i don't think they're actually the worst example in toa: despite a concept/design that fucks so absolutely severely, once they get on screen, they're not actually built up all that much (or...well). it takes them less than the space of an episode (22 minutes) to go from "dread, ancient terrors that even merlin is afraid of" to "merlin shooing away them, the green knight, and their evil floating skull castle with less effort than he usually spares to criticize douxie." but that's another post.
morgana, though. part of what made her such a compelling villain was how little arthur figured in trollhunters. the existence of merlin implies the existence of arthur, of course, but in trollhunters arthur isn't there at all. instead, we get the negative space of him: his right hand (merlin) and the anti-arthur (morgana). obviously this is partly her role in arthuriana proper, but it also strikes me as pretty deliberate here: merlin's liege vs. merlin's student (and that liege's sister); humanity's last best hope vs. the queen of the otherworld; the king under the mountain vs. the witch under arcadia. i was not very tuned into morgana when i first got into trollhunters, but looking back over the series for this ask, the parallels are so obvious. and so tight! i wouldn't be surprised if some of this was even deliberate.
and the thing is: trollhunters has enough space as a series that its antagonists don't really have to pull their punches. morgana was nasty in trollhunters. pale lady, baba yaga, eldritch queen, mother of monsters—holy shit, right? and she's creepy, too: all muttering whispers and dread ancient magic! she takes angor’s soul, and then his free will. she taunts stricklander while possessing the body of one of his students (while threatening the permanent exile of two more to the depression dimension), and then in the guise of the human he's in love with. speaking to her faithful children—who only exist through morally dubious, unpleasant processes, for which she is implied to be responsible—via institutional heirloom phonograph! she's so much more connected to the shadow realm, here, probably the most compelling justification for reading shadow magic as dangerous. she's the big bad behind angor and gunmar (while playing them both against each other). she absolutely feels evenly paired with merlin, and (rightly) kicks his ass through most of the battle of the eternal night. she's evil but charismatic and even despite all that still a little human: when she taunts jim for not knowing merlin used her hand for the amulet, it isn't without a shadow of what must have been an ancient hurt.
and then. wizards. jesus christ (tired ben affleck smoking dot jpg)
