Perched at about 3200 meters above sea level and almost an hour’s drive from the bustling town of Manali, Sethan in winters is an ideal place for snow activities like Snowboarding, Snow trekking and sledging among many others. The village inhabited by the migrants of adjoining Lahaul and Spiti district is mainly of Buddhist origin. During peak winters most of the locals tend to move to the lower altitude towns of Kullu valley leaving Sethan a beautifully deserted village, before moving back in summer again. In the winters the village offers crystal clear panoramic views of the towering Dhauladhar and Pir-panjal ranges while itself covered in the blanket of snow. Winter paradise in a fairyland, Sethan is also considered to be one of the best places in Indian Himalayas to try backcountry snowboarding.
