Happy centenary wedding anniversary to Bertie and Elizabeth! 100 years ago today (m. 26/04/1923).
Tumblr media
'…I do love you Bertie, & I feel certain that I shall more & more.'

'You know how I love her & will always take care of her [...] to me, she is everything.'
Excerpts from The Queen Mother: The Official Biography by William Shawcross.

Prince Albert is wearing the full dress uniform of the Royal Air Force with the rank of group captain. Elizabeth's dress, typically 1920s Medieval Revival in style, was crafted with ivory-coloured chiffon moire, pearls, and silver thread. The intention was for the dress to coordinate with a gift of Flanders lace from Queen Mary. Elizabeth also opted to break with the tradition of wearing a tiara, and instead chose a headdress of leaves. Credit: Bassano Ltd.

From there they travelled by train to Polesden Lacey in Surrey, which had been lent to them by the Honourable Mrs Greville. Sources: Royal Collections Trust, The National Trust.

~Introduction~
Why is it called ‘Soldered Wires’?
Much like soldering itself, this AU is an attempt to melt together the canon of the FNAF games, books, theories (all of Game Theory), fan-created media inspired from the franchise (TheLivingTombstone music, Squimpus McGrimpus VHS videos, etc), and personal canon in an attempt to create a cohesive story of the Emily & Afton families throughout the events of FNAF.
Who is Sammy Emily?
Sammy Emily is the twin brother of Charlie Emily and son of Henry Emily in the Silver Eyes trilogy of books. It was implied that he was taken and murdered by William Afton at Fredbear’s Diner when the twins were very young, before it was revealed that it was Charlie herself who was killed. Other than that, we have no other information regarding his personality or current whereabouts in the books’ canon.
Why are you so obsessed with Sammy Emily if he was a minor character in the books?
It’s very evident that the canon of the books, while a separate canon from the games’ own canon, are frequently used to fill gaps in the lore of the games (see any Game Theory video made after Sister Location). Characters mentioned in the books have become canon names in the games. Sammy Emily’s existence in the games’ lore is completely unknown (as far as we know as of August 2022), so this AU is our take on IF he was canon in the games.

Our 7th Wedding Anniversary
On Monday, as we do every October 17th, we quietly celebrated our 7th wedding anniversary.
We have a tradition every year where we walk to our favorite little Italian restaurant downtown for a nice dinner and a glass of wine, and of course, always save room for dessert. This year we remembered we actually had a gift certificate to our favorite restaurant (!) which made it even better. It would be like someone is actually taking us out for dinner on our anniversary!
We dropped the kids off at PJ’s mom’s house and showered and got dressed, and planned to start walking downtown. As we were leaving, we looked in the spot where the gift certificate has been for over a year, only to find that it wasn’t there at all. PJ had cleaned off our office desk the weekend before and apparently moved it somewhere he couldn’t remember, so afters rummaging around the house for 15 minutes trying to find it, we declared defeat and gave up. We didn’t have a babysitter all night long!
PJ then suggested, since we don’t have any obligation to go anywhere anymore, that we go to our other favorite Italian restaurant just 15 miles down the road in the next town. Ding ding ding!! Yes! I told him, that sounds perfect. It’s a little more upscale with a slightly bigger menu, and it just sounded better all around, so we made the drive and settled in at our table.
I tried something new, while PJ got his tried and true favorite. We split an appetizer and I ordered a glass of chardonnay while he got a glass of Prosecco. It was so nice to just sit and relax for an hour, PJ looking so handsome in the seat across from me. We talked about what we hope the next seven years look like and our hopes and dreams for the future. We both agreed that the farm plays a big role in our future as a family. How nice it is to be on the same page on most things (still trying to convince him for us to tile the entire kitchen, but that’s a discussion for another day).
After dinner, we walked next door to a donut shop. At first I said “just to look” but PJ made the point that “it’s only our anniversary once a year”. So we each picked out to donuts and ate them in the square, feeling a slight chill as the wind blew to remind us that fall is in full force in East Tennessee. After donuts, we drove through one of our favorite neighborhoods and looked at all the new, gorgeous homes that remind us of Alys Beach in Florida. And then we headed back home to pick up the kids and get everyone in bed for the night.
It was a lovely evening spent with the love of my life, celebrating our life together as men, as husbands, and as fathers. It’s hard to believe we’ve been together for 12 years, because it’s sometimes hard to even remember my life before PJ, before I came out, but at the same time it feels like no time at all has passed since I was 19 and he was 24. I am forever grateful for this man and how much he’s shaped my life and the person I am today. I can’t imagine raising kids and sharing a name with anyone else.
What a wonderful adventure it is loving him.

The Return of Cast Member-to-Guest Pin Trading at Walt Disney World
Tumblr media
After a hiatus of over three years, Walt Disney World has announced the highly anticipated return of cast member-to-guest pin trading across all four theme parks and Disney Springs. This beloved tradition, which celebrates its 25th anniversary in 2024, has been a cherished part of the Disney experience for countless fans and collectors. Starting April 7th, 2024, guests can once again approach cast members wearing lanyards or pin pouches to trade their Disney pins, reigniting the magic of this interactive hobby.
Tumblr media
A Brief History of Disney Pin Trading
Disney pin trading has its roots dating back to the early days of the theme parks, but it wasn't until the Millennium Celebration at Walt Disney World in 1999 that the activity truly took off. As part of the festivities, Disney introduced the concept of pin trading, encouraging guests to collect and trade pins featuring beloved characters, attractions, and icons from the parks.  The idea was an instant hit, capturing the hearts of Disney fans worldwide. Over the years, pin trading evolved into a full-fledged hobby, with Disney releasing thousands of unique pins in various collections and limited editions. Collectors would scour the parks, trading with cast members and fellow guests, in pursuit of their desired pins.
Tumblr media
The Pin Trading Experience
At its core, Disney pin trading is a simple yet engaging activity. Guests can approach cast members wearing lanyards or pin pouches and ask to trade pins. The cast members are required to trade with guests, provided the pins meet certain criteria, such as bearing the official Disney copyright and depicting a Disney character, attraction, or icon.  The thrill of pin trading lies in the element of surprise and the joy of discovering new pins to add to one's collection. Each trade is a unique experience, as guests never know what pins a cast member might have on their lanyard or what fellow collectors might be willing to part with.
Tumblr media
Pin Trading Etiquette
To ensure a smooth and enjoyable experience for all, Disney has established a set of pin trading etiquette guidelines: - Only official Disney pins with the Disney copyright on the back can be traded. - Pins should be in good, undamaged condition with the pin backing attached. - Guests can trade a maximum of two pins per cast member or trading board per day. - Money, gifts, vouchers, or receipts cannot be exchanged for pins. - Guests should refrain from touching a cast member's or another guest's pins or lanyard without permission.  By following these guidelines, pin traders can create a respectful and enjoyable environment for everyone involved.
Tumblr media
The Allure of Pin Trading
Pin trading holds a special appeal for Disney fans of all ages. For children, it's a fun way to interact with cast members, collect souvenirs, and learn about different characters and attractions. For adults, it taps into the nostalgia of childhood and the thrill of collecting unique and limited-edition pins. Beyond the collecting aspect, pin trading fosters a sense of community among Disney enthusiasts. Traders often share stories, swap tips, and bond over their shared passion for the hobby. It's not uncommon to see groups of pin traders gathered around trading boards, eagerly swapping pins and making new friends along the way.
Tumblr media
Pin Trading Locations at Walt Disney World
With the return of cast member-to-guest pin trading, guests can once again seek out cast members wearing lanyards or pin pouches throughout Walt Disney World. Some popular pin trading locations include: - Magic Kingdom: Frontier Trading Post, Ye Olde Christmas Shoppe, and the Emporium on Main Street, U.S.A. - EPCOT: Pin Traders at the Camera Center, various World Showcase pavilions, and the Art of Disney store. - Disney's Hollywood Studios: Once Upon a Time and Sid Cahuenga's One-of-a-Kind shops. - Disney's Animal Kingdom: Discovery Trading Company and various merchandise locations throughout the park.  Additionally, Disney Springs offers a dedicated Pin Traders store, as well as cast members trading at various retail locations throughout the area.
Tumblr media
Tips for Successful Pin Trading
To make the most of your pin trading experience at Walt Disney World, consider the following tips: - Start with a starter set: If you're new to pin trading, consider purchasing a starter set, which typically includes a lanyard and a few pins to get you started. - Bring a trading bag or binder: Invest in a trading bag or binder to keep your pins organized and protected during your Disney adventure. - Trade early: Cast members often stock their lanyards with fresh pins in the morning, so try to trade early for the best selection. - Be open to trades: While you may have specific pins in mind, be open to trading for pins you didn't initially consider. You never know what hidden gems you might discover. - Respect the etiquette: Remember to follow Disney's pin trading etiquette guidelines to ensure a positive experience for everyone involved. - Have fun!: Above all, remember that pin trading is meant to be a fun and engaging activity. Embrace the spirit of the hobby and enjoy the journey of building your collection.
Tumblr media
Conclusion
The return of cast member-to-guest pin trading at Walt Disney World marks the revival of a beloved tradition that has captured the hearts of Disney fans for over two decades. As guests once again approach cast members wearing lanyards or pin pouches, the magic of this interactive hobby will be reignited, allowing collectors to pursue their desired pins and create lasting memories. Whether you're a seasoned pin trader or a newcomer to the hobby, the allure of pin trading lies in the thrill of the chase, the joy of discovery, and the sense of community it fosters among Disney enthusiasts. By • Olalekan Fagbade Speech by President Bola Tinubu on the 63rd independence anniversary Dear Compatriots, It is my unique honour to address you on this day, the 63rd anniversary of our nation’s independence, both as the President of our dear country and, simply, as a fellow Nigerian. 2. On this solemn yet hopeful day, let us commend our founding fathers and mothers. Without them, there would be no modern Nigeria. From the fading embers of colonialism, their activism, dedication and leadership gave life to the belief in Nigeria as a sovereign and independent nation. 3. Let us, at this very moment, affirm that as Nigerians, we are all endowed with the sacred rights and individual gifts that God has bestowed on us as a nation and as human beings. No one is greater or lesser than the other. The triumphs that Nigeria has achieved shall define us. The travails we have endured shall strengthen us. And no other nation or power on this earth shall keep us from our rightful place and destiny. This nation belongs to you, dear people. Love and cherish it as your very own. 4. Nigeria is remarkable in its formation and essential character. We are a broad and dynamic blend of ethnic groups, religions, traditions and cultures. Yet, our bonds are intangible yet strong, invisible yet universal. We are joined by a common thirst for peace and progress, by the common dream of prosperity and harmony and by the unifying ideals of tolerance and justice. 5. Forging a nation based on the fair application of these noble principles to a diverse population has been a task of significant blessing but also serial challenge. Some people have said an independent Nigeria should never have come into existence. Some have said that our country would be torn apart. They are forever mistaken. Here, our nation stands and here we shall remain. 6. This year, we passed a significant milestone in our journey to a better Nigeria. By democratically electing a 7th consecutive civilian government, Nigeria has proven that commitment to democracy and the rule of law remains our guiding light. 7. At my inauguration, I made important promises about how I would govern this great nation. Among those promises, were pledges to reshape and modernize our economy and to secure the lives, liberty and property of the people. 8. I said that bold reforms were necessary to place our nation on the path of prosperity and growth. On that occasion, I announced the end of the fuel subsidy. 9. I am attuned to the hardships that have come. I have a heart that feels and eyes that see. I wish to explain to you why we must endure this trying moment. Those who sought to perpetuate the fuel subsidy and broken foreign exchange policies are people who would build their family mansion in the middle of a swamp. I am different. I am not a man to erect our national home on a foundation of mud. To endure, our home must be constructed on safe and pleasant ground. 10. Reform may be painful, but it is what greatness and the future require. We now carry the costs of reaching a future Nigeria where the abundance and fruits of the nation are fairly shared among all, not hoarded by a select and greedy few. A Nigeria where hunger, poverty and hardship are pushed into the shadows of an ever fading past. 11. There is no joy in seeing the people of this nation shoulder burdens that should have been shed years ago. I wish today’s difficulties did not exist. But we must endure if we are to reach the good side of our future. 12. My government is doing all that it can to ease the load. I will now outline the path we are taking to relieve the stress on our families and households. 13. We have embarked on several public sector reforms to stabilize the economy, direct fiscal and monetary policy to fight inflation, encourage production, ensure the security of lives and property and lend more support to the poor and the vulnerable.
14. Based on our talks with labour, business and other stakeholders, we are introducing a provisional wage increment to enhance the federal minimum wage without causing undue inflation. For the next six months, the average low-grade worker shall receive an additional Twenty-Five Thousand naira per month. 15. To ensure better grassroots development, we set up an Infrastructure Support Fund for states to invest in critical areas. States have already received funds to provide relief packages against the impact of rising food and other prices. 16. Making the economy more robust by lowering transport costs will be key. In this regard, we have opened a new chapter in public transportation through the deployment of cheaper, safer Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) buses across the nation. These buses will operate at a fraction of current fuel prices, positively affecting transport fares. 17. New CNG conversions kits will start coming in very soon as all hands are on deck to fast track the usually lengthy procurement process. We are also setting up training facilities and workshops across the nation to train and provide new opportunities for transport operators and entrepreneurs. This is a ground breaking moment where, as a nation, we embrace more efficient means to power our economy. In making this change, we also make history. 18. I pledged a thorough housecleaning of the den of malfeasance the CBN had become. That housecleaning is well underway. A new leadership for the Central Bank has been constituted. Also, my special investigator will soon present his findings on past lapses and how to prevent similar reoccurrences. Henceforth, monetary policy shall be for the benefit of all and not the exclusive province of the powerful and wealthy. 19. Wise tax policy is essential to economic fairness and development. I have inaugurated a Committee on Tax Reforms to improve the efficiency of tax administration in the country and address fiscal policies that are unfair or hinder the business environment and slow our growth. 20. To boost employment and urban incomes, we are providing investment funding for enterprises with great potential. Similarly, we are increasing investment in micro, small and medium-sized enterprises. 21. Commencing this month, the social safety net is being extended through the expansion of cash transfer programs to an additional 15 million vulnerable households. 22. My administration shall always accord the highest priority to the safety of the people. Inter-Service collaboration and intelligence sharing have been enhanced. Our Service Chiefs have been tasked with the vital responsibility of rebuilding the capacities of our security services. 23. Here, I salute and commend our gallant security forces for keeping us safe and securing our territorial integrity. Many have paid the ultimate sacrifice. We remember them today and their families. We shall equip our forces with the ways and means needed to perform their urgent task on behalf of the people, 24. We shall continue to make key appointments in line with the provisions of the Constitution and with fairness toward all. Women, Youth and the physically challenged shall continue to be given due regard in these appointments. 25. May I take this opportunity to congratulate the National Assembly for its role in the quick take-off of this administration through the performance of its constitutional duties of confirmation and oversight. 26. I similarly congratulate the judiciary as a pillar of democracy and fairness. 27. I also thank members of our dynamic civil society organizations and labour unions for their dedication to Nigerian democracy. We may not always agree but I value your advice and recommendations. You are my brothers and sisters and you have my due respect. 28. Fellow compatriots, the journey ahead will not be navigated by fear or hatred. We can only
achieve our better Nigeria through courage, compassion and commitment as one indivisible unit. 29. I promise that I shall remain committed and serve faithfully. I also invite all to join this enterprise to remake our beloved nation into its better self. We can do it. We must do it. We shall do it.!!! 30. I wish you all a happy 63rd Independence Anniversary. 31. Thank you for listening. 32. May God bless the Federal Republic of Nigeria.(NAN)

More Encanto Series Episode ideas
Part 1
Again feel free to use these ideas just give credit please!
- It's Félix and Pepa's anniversary and Bruno wants to make it up to Pepa for ruining her wedding, by helping them renew their vows.
- Agustín and Félix hatch a plan to steal Bruno for a "boys night" They just want Bruno to have fun and feel welcomed, but Bruno's idea of fun is very different from theirs.
- Overhearing a conversation between Isabela and Bruno in which he expresses needing help on how to be well liked by the townspeople, Camilo misunderstood what his tío actually wants and volunteers himself to be Bruno's personal wingman for the day. Bruno is too nice to say no but is clearly visibly uncomfortable with the idea of his sobrino trying to set him up with other townsfolk. (Insert scene where Camilo introduces Bruno to one of the mothers he babysits for and the first thing out of her mouth is "I thought you said he was taller?")
- After being tired of being taken for granted, Julieta hatches a plan to only feed the town their least favorite foods in an attempt to encourage them to be a bit more careful.
- Antonio makes a new friend at school who seems to really take a liking to his gift, and learns the hard way what many of the other Madrigals learned about the more selfish and shallow who only seek a Madrigal's company for personal gain.
- Mariano needs help keeping his secret Dia de Amor y Amistad¹ plans away from Dolores, and the Madrigal girls are ready to help!
- A ghostly woman has been haunting the Encanto and all are ready to blame Camilo, but he swears his innocence. The rest of the Madrigal grandkids are on the case to unmask the ghost and clear his name!
- on Dia de las Velitas², Alma recounts to the children how she came to know her late husband Pedro.
- Mirabel encourages the whole family to make Año Viejos³ with her. They all sit around and discuss what they'd like to improve on in the new year while recounting their many mistakes and mishaps of the last year (it's a clip show ep just not with repeated clips of previous eps)
- It's told that Alma used to be quite the dancer back in her day, but she has long left that life behind after becoming responsible for the Encanto. The Madrigals are determined to change that in the upcoming new years celebration at the town square.
———
¹ The Day of Love and Friendship, is Colombia's version of Valentine's day, celebrated on the third Saturday of September.
² Little Candles Day is a traditional Colombian holiday celebrated on December 7th which observes the eve before the Immaculate Conception. This is also when Alma and Pedro are first seen meeting in the film.
³ The Old Year is a Colombian New Year's tradition in which you make a doll that represents the "old you" and any bad habits or traits you'd wish to leave behind in the new year. The doll is stuffed with fireworks and set off at midnight, signifying being "out with the old"

HOMILY for 7th Sun after Pentecost (Dominican rite)
Rom 6:19-23;  Matthew 7:15-21
Tumblr media
All things are governed by the Providence of God, and even those things which seem like tragedies to us, those things that may disturb and trouble us, even these are merely permitted by God. And yet, because God is the Cause of all that is, and because God governs all things in his goodness, so he, who is the Lord of the Living and who is the Resurrection and the Life, can direct all of the world’s events and circumstances, even its disasters to the good. For God, in his Providence, is always at work in manifold ways that surpass our imagination and our lifespans even to bring good out of evil. Thus the Collect today affirms that God’s “providence does not fail in its designs.”
To many of us Christians, to say that God is in charge, might seem obvious. And yet, many Christians, many good Catholics too, can find it challenging and difficult to live out this statement of faith. For to say that God is in charge means to trust in his Providence and so to believe that he wisely governs all things at all times. God doesn’t ever take his eye off the ball! And this means that we believe that God is at work to bring about a greater good even out of the evils that we have to endure in our lives, in our times, or, even, within the Church. But God does this according to his timescale, and in his inscrutable ways which remain mysterious to us. As such, to believe in God’s providence, in his on-going governance and direction of all human history, is an act of faith.
Fittingly, then, one of the newest popular devotions promoted by the Church, to the Divine Mercy, has as its slogan, “Jesus, I trust in you.” For we are called in our difficult times to keep our focus on God, and to trust in his Providence. As St Faustina has said: “I run like a child to the Heart of Jesus and say only one word to Him: “You can do all things.” And then I keep silent, because I know that Jesus Himself will intervene in the matter, and as for me, instead of tormenting myself, I use that time to love Him.”
Thus, as I have noted often before in these homilies, the question for our times as the Lord says in the Gospels is: when he returns will he find any faith on earth? (cf Lk 18:8) You might think that this refers to the numbers of signed-up Christians. But I think the question, being directed towards God’s chosen ones, is a question for the Church, for you and for me: do we have faith in God, especially in the face of injustice and terror in the world, which will surely increase as the time for the Second Coming draws ever closer. Do we believe that, despite the apparent disasters and tragedies in the moral and temporal orders, God is in charge, such that, as St Augustine says, “Almighty God would in no wise permit evil to exist in His works, unless He were so almighty and so good as to produce good even from evil.” The question for our times, therefore, is whether or not we believe and trust and can abandon ourselves to the good and wise governance of God. Can we affirm with our actions and with our words and with our prayer that God’s providence does not ever fail?
For St Thomas Aquinas teaches that “all things are subject to divine providence, not only in general, but even in their own individual selves.” Even “human providence is included under the providence of God [and] God… extends His providence over the just in a certain more excellent way than over the wicked; inasmuch as He prevents anything happening which would impede their final salvation.” If this is true – as indeed it is – then God has a particular care for the governance of the Church, for those of us who remain in the Barque of Peter, for God’s providence guides his one holy catholic and apostolic Church to its final salvation. It has long been the belief of Christians that, precisely so as to safeguard the Christian people and to lead them to salvation, God has provided for his Church and governs her, particularly through the office and ministry of the Papacy.
It is fitting, it seems to me, to consider the providence of God in this regard. For yesterday, the 18th of July 2020, was the 150th anniversary of Pastor Aeternus. This is the dogmatic constitution of the First Vatican Council that, among other things, defined the doctrine of papal infallibility. It would be good for us all to reacquaint ourselves with this teaching from Vatican I, and it’s a short document, easily available online. A few extracts, pertaining to God’s providence and governance of his Church through the papacy, are worth highlighting now.
“That which our Lord Jesus Christ… established in the blessed apostle Peter, for the continual salvation and permanent benefit of the Church, must of necessity remain for ever [so that the Church] will stand firm until the end of time… And so, supported by the clear witness of Holy Scripture, and adhering to the manifest and explicit decrees both of our predecessors the Roman Pontiffs and of general councils, we promulgate anew the definition of the ecumenical Council of Florence, which must be believed by all faithful Christians, namely that the "holy Apostolic See and the Roman Pontiff hold a world-wide primacy, and that the Roman Pontiff is the successor of blessed Peter, the prince of the apostles, true vicar of Christ, head of the whole Church and father and teacher of all Christian people. To him, in blessed Peter, full power has been given by our lord Jesus Christ to tend, rule and govern the universal Church… This gift of truth and never-failing faith was therefore divinely conferred on Peter and his successors in this See so that they might discharge their exalted office for the salvation of all, and so that the whole flock of Christ might be kept away by them from the poisonous food of error and be nourished with the sustenance of heavenly doctrine. Thus the tendency to schism is removed and the whole Church is preserved in unity, and, resting on its foundation, can stand firm against the gates of hell.”
In the light of all this, therefore, and with faith in God’s providence and designs, and trusting in God’s promises to St Peter and his successors, let us hear again the words of Our Lord in today’s Gospel: “Beware of false prophets, who come to you in sheep’s clothing but inwardly are ravenous wolves.” (Mt 7:15) Many people today, it seems to me, are cast adrift by confusion and fake news; by internet Inquisitors and social media Doctors who trade in speculation and gossip and rumour; by seemingly learned opinions and accusations, even from clerics, which are levelled against the Holy Father, and against the papacy in recent years or even in recent decades. These other voices, therefore, have arisen to command the attention of segments of the Catholic people, seeking to shepherd them in these current difficult times, and they do so by speaking against the Pope, thus introducing confusion and the tendency to schism that Vatican I warned against. As the Lord says: “you will know them by their fruits”, and it seems clear to me that what is being sown is a spirit of protestantism that is antithetical to the true Catholic faith laid out so fully by Vatican I.
I know that many have been wounded in the Church through the malfeasance and negligence of the clergy, and so there is sometimes distrust for one’s legitimate pastors. But, as you may know, the wounded sheep are often separated from the flock and then they become dinner for the wolves – they are, all to easily, prey to false prophets, and become victims of those who stir up dissension and schism and separation from the papacy. The Devil rejoices to see such confusion and disunity among Christ’s flock! Therefore, turn away from these alternative magisteria, from these other voices who would command your loyalty, from these false prophets who would turn you against the Vicar of Christ on earth! For when one is wounded one must stay close to Christ the Chief Shepherd and divine Physician. One must thus stay close to the shepherd whom Christ himself has appointed and guaranteed, as Pastor Aeternus taught. And we do this not because  of our personal feelings concerning the Holy Father, but because we have faith in the promises of Christ. Hence I said the question for our times is: do you have faith that God is in charge? Do we really believe in the wisdom and goodness of God and his governance of all things? For God in his providence, and in his governance of his holy Church, has promised to safeguard the papacy for the sake of our salvation. There is none other than St Peter and his Successors to whom the Lord Jesus has given this promise. No supposed mystic, nor private revelations, nor even messages purportedly from the Blessed Mother can displace the solemn promises of Christ revealed in Scripture and Tradition. Hence, the First Vatican Council declared: “This is the teaching of the Catholic truth, and no one can depart from it without endangering his faith and salvation.”
Today’s Liturgy, and this occasion of the 150th anniversary of Pastor Aeternus, calls you and me, therefore, to place our faith in God’s wise but mysterious providence; to trust that Christ governs his Church through the Successor of St Peter, and that the Holy Spirit thus directs God’s elect to their final good, that is to say, to salvation in Christ. Let no one, therefore, depart from Christ,  nor from his Vicar on earth, our Holy Father the Pope, without thereby endangering one’s faith and salvation through the chaos of schism, through rebellion and disunity, and through the failure of charity.

GPT-2: It can’t resist a list
One of my favorite things is to get a neural net to generate a list of things. And one of the best neural nets to subject to that task is GPT-2, which learned a heck of a lot of things (okay not all of them good) by reading a huge chunk of the internet.
It turns out that there are a lot of lists on the internet, and if you prompt GPT-2 with the beginnings of one, it can’t help but finish it. (Prompts are in bold)
Here are the medals that come after the traditional three.
1. Gold 2. Silver 3. Bronze 4. Iron 5. One Life 6. One Titan 7. One Death 8. Sigil of Ruin 9. Sigil of Destruction 10. Desert Citron 11. City Pollen 12. Desert Vaccine 13. Inorganic Light CLR Plating 14. Inorganic Light CLR Spray Ingredient 15. Inorganic Light Metal Plating 16. Inorganic Light Metal Spray Ingredient 17. Phoenix Mask 18. Gold Ornament
Keep this list of wedding anniversary gifts handy!
1ST YEAR: Paper 2ND YEAR: Cotton 3RD YEAR: Leather 4TH YEAR: Fruit & Flowers, or Linen & Silk 5RD YEAR: Carpet & Flooring/Graphite 6TH YEAR: Nail Polish Gold Palette 7TH YEAR: Silk & Enamel and Thumb 9TH YEAR: Pearl 10TH YEAR: Delicate Roses 11TH YEAR: Crystal & Mental Training 12TH YEAR: Orchid 13TH YEAR: Patterns & Data 14TH YEAR: Capsules 15TH YEAR: Canvas & Flowers 16TH YEAR: Waterlite Red 17TH YEAR: Chocolate & Bamboo 18TH YEAR: Wood 19TH YEAR: Borroux (mint) porcelain bottles 20TH YEAR: Fashion Collection 21TH YEAR: Satin/Zinc Sculpture 22TH YEAR: Umbrellas & Gerber covers 23TH YEAR: Garment Solids 24TH YEAR: Wooden/Jute Trading Cards, Heart Leaves and Leaves, artwork and fabrics 25TH YEAR: Soaps, reapplication and wash cycles 27TH YEAR: Digital storage on printer 29TH YEAR: Bamboo bindings(1000 pieces) 30TH YEAR: Chameleonic & Organizing Utensils & Fine Feathers
(GPT-2 is not great at counting when the numbers get high)
It loves listing animals, although it’s not always clear on what counts as an animal.
My Favorite Animals Are: 1. Giraffes 2. Maize 3. Polar Bears 4. Pigeons and Giraffes 5. Cats and Warthog 6. Javanese Canines 7. Tiger Teeth 8. Black Swans 9. Alligators 10. Basilisks 11. Zebrafish
