Bryan Christopher Kohberger, 28, was taken into custody by local police and the FBI at 3 a.m. in Scranton, Pennsylvania, the law enforcement source said Friday.
This is developing..
Kohberger was being held for extradition in Monroe County Court for first-degree murder issued by the Moscow Police Department and the Latah County Prosecutor's Office in connection to the slayings of Ethan Chapin, 20, Xana Kernodle, 20, Kaylee Goncalves, 21, and Madison Mogen, 21.
The suspect is a graduate student at Washington State University in Pullman, Washington, according to the college's website. Pullman is a 15-minute drive from the rental home where the four students were stabbed to death.

"WSU MOM SPEAKS: The Secret Keepers #idaho4"
youtube
According to her parents Kaylee Goncalvez was an avid fan of True Crime and subscriber to the  YouTube channel 'Chronicles of Olivia'. After watching the recent interview Olivia did with Kaylee's family I was compelled to watch this video as well. Here a mother of a WSU  student,  located just outside the Moscow community , shares that not only was her daughter made aware of the crimes before a 911 call was ever placed by the victim's roommates, but that many other students in the community were as well. It is alleged that both roomates did not awaken close to 12 noon and call 911 immediatly afterward the way  most  media outlets have reported. Multiple sources have stated that both roomates  awoke HOURS before their call to 911 at approx 12 noon, not minutes.
Law enforcement  informed the media that both roommates were sleep the entire time the attacks were occuring... which we later found out has been proven false, who knows what else the Moscow PD may not be being the most honest and forthcoming about. I think this crime has affected a vast amount of people and  many in the  Moscow community and nearby surrounding areas are still trying to wrap their heads around it. If those of us living thousands of miles away are having a difficult time processing the magnitude of this horror,  I can only imagine how locals must feel.  And just because Olivia has given this woman a platform to share her story doesn't mean she's necessarily co-signing 100% every single statement that this woman is making . She's simply allowing her to voice her concerns and opinions on her platform. On the other hand I do believe  that it is important to reiterate this womans input hasnt been proven to necessarily be true....the thing is, a lot of it hasnt been DISPROVEN either, which leaves plenty of  room for speculation. From the very beginning this entire case has sadly been one big  dumpster fire circus sideshow😔.....

Barn, University of Idaho Campus, Moscow, circa 1995.
Unlike many wooden barns in the Palouse which have been demolished, their wood often used to decorate suburban rec rooms, this one still stands in quite good condition as a centerpiece in the University of Idaho's arboretum.
This is one of a number of scans from prints for which I have only memory as notes. The date is approximate, for the photo was shot sometime in the early 1990s.

Steven A. Smith again addresses journalism ethics surrounding the UI murders, as a suspect has now been taken into custody.
"Act 2, the legal process that now unfolds as the suspect is brought to trial, presents an entirely new set of ethical concerns. And it presents a classic constitutional conflict, a collision of the First and Sixth Amendments."

This is really the perfect instantiation of a certain, possibly dominant, strain of Christian conservatism.
It can’t comprehend a vision of education that’s not authoritarian indoctrination.  It doesn’t understand that there is anything other than this.
It’s varyingly oblivious to anything beyond the acquisition of patriotically and religiously correct information.  After all, its model for life is The Bible, a set of prescriptions handed down from an unchallengeable authority.  One’s duty is to learn about it and follow.  How can this not ramify through all of human life - education, the mind, the acquisition and generation of knowledge and understanding?
Hierarchy, obedience to authority and rigid social ordering are Christian conservatism’s psychological demands.
But this is threatened by reason.  Philosophical argument, thinking and reasoning are inherently subversive and threaten all comers.
The Christian conservative impulse of preservation has no tools for dealing with the Enlightenment quest of skepticism and discovery other than repression.  It can’t comprehend the opposing camp’s motives, methods, values or understanding.  There is no arguing with this threat to the Christian social order because it doesn’t know how to argue with it.  It sees a threat it can’t contain and therefore it must be rendered silent and stomped out.
I’d love to see some professor of philosophy go ‘meta’ on this theocratic law and conduct discussions on what it means to be neutral, to have a viewpoint, and to engage in moral reasoning about moral questions.  One could cover all the ground of the abortion debate this way while maintaining a critical distance and defensible neutrality.
However, there’s absolutely no doubt that Christian zealots won’t be able to tell the difference.  What does it mean to be neutral?  Surely they haven’t thought this through and have set themselves a trap that could easily come back to embarrass them.
None of the misdemeanors of ‘cancel culture’ come close to this Christian conservative crime against education and the life of the mind.  But it’s reasonable to assume that this is only a testing of the water.
The end goal, even if it’s not formally articulated, it’s still deducible from extant evidence: The shutting down of the mind and open inquiry for God and country.

The alleged killer, 28, looked concerned after he was pulled over for a second time within nine minutes in Indiana..
He arrived back in Moscow, Idaho, last night after a 12-hour flight from Pennsylvania..

The slayings of four University of Idaho students are most grievous. We can make this statement because the Moral Law Giver, in Exodus 20:13 commanded, “Thou shalt not murder.” Further back in history, in Noah’s day, Genesis 9:6 regulates that, “Whoever sheds man’s blood [unlawfully], by man (judicial government) shall his blood be shed, for in the image of God He made man.” The latter part of v.6 reasons why ‘murder,’ is grievous; [causing grief, pain, or anguish; most serious; dire; grave; shockingly brutal or cruel.] Murder is the unlawful cessation of life created in the likeness of God. As heinous as this crime is there’s something far more disturbing that coverage surrounding this incident is missing.
Reports about the household where the murders took place describe it as a party house. Interactions with police occurred several times. In one incident, over a noise violation, a young man is seen with zip ties around his wrists [see. youtu.be/S8SArzNyNnQ]. Let’s not be in denial here, young people will make their own choices so it is fair to give a warning,
“You who are young, be happy while you are young, and let your heart give you joy in the days of your youth. Follow the ways of your heart and whatever your eyes see, but know that for all these things God will bring you into judgment.” Ecclesiastes 11:9
We’re certainly not guaranteed a long life or a peaceful death. Hebrews 9:27 gives this one assurance, ‘just as it is appointed and destined for all men to die once and after this [comes certain] judgment.’ Sadly, more terrifying than the horrific nature of the crime in Moscow, Idaho, is the reality that these four young people entered the judgment room of God. One question needs answered, “Were they covered in the Blood of Christ for the forgiveness of sins?”
Thinking of this let us cry unto our youth, ‘you may enjoy sin for a season but, eternity is much longer.’ Seek Christ while you still have today.

So for how long has the University of Idaho quadruple homicide suspect been hanging out a mere two hour drive from me? Just for the holidays or did he bee-line here right after he washed the blood off?

Disclaimer (before people come for me) - I know these events took place in real time + happened to real people. I am absolutely not in any way downplaying what happened / or turning it into a spectacle for my own entertainment.
BUT
Has anyone else been keeping up with these Idaho murders? If so, what are your thoughts?
It’s been killing me since I found out. I’m praying for these kids and hoping this killer comes forward. The whole case has kept me up at night. Like the FBI has got to know who it is by now.
