I love creating OCs that deliberately break the mold of Trek alien social conventions. Sometimes a found family is:
Trill mom who had to take in her dead son’s symbiote breaking Reassociation law out of necessity to save the Symbiont. Captain of the U.S.S. Tubman (Zjardona Daro, Mother: Playlist)
Vulcan ex-spy raised by a multi-species polycule and has a pirate hyper-fixation, massive crush/hero worship for Admiral Sulu, with a pacifist punk rock transgender Klingon husband. (J'tk T'zai Evaris, Galavant: Playlist)
Rugal from “Cardassians” but all grown up and trying to honor his mixed Bajoran & Cardassian upbringing. Hoping that joining Starfleet will help him understand the Emissary and the choice Sisko made for him. (Rugal Proka-Pa'dar, Pilgrim: Playlist)
Ferengi feminist who is loudly and unapologetically girly and has the vibe of a Jane Austen/Barbara Streisand protagonist. Absolute fashion icon and far too gossipy for her own good, three ounces of whoop ass. (Jhadima, Spitfire: Playlist)
Klingon CMO and ferocious peace activist, specializing in combat-based therapy, owns two certified therapy animals (a sehlat & a targ) with his beloved V’Tosh Ka’tur Vulcan husband. (Dr. Gavvrok Son of Ghir, Advocate: Playlist)
A chief engineer who is essentially a sentient octopus, could teach you in excruciating detail the nature of turbolift safety protocols but they prefer vibing in the Jeffries tubes. (Chief Milly, Iridescent: Playlist)
An ex-Starfleet Vulcan anthropologist and wandering Kohlinar Master who operates as a civilian consultant and bartends in her free time. (Counselor J'tk S'zhr T'Wan, Kolinahru: Playlist)

Fort Monroe
Fort Monroe is an area rich in history. Before the settlement of British colonists in 1607 at Jamestown, Cape Comfort was occupied by Native American groups for hundreds of years. The first Africans that were brought to North America arrived in the Hampton Roads region in 1619. John Rolfe wrote a letter to Sir Edwin Sandys of the Virginia Company about the arrival of “Twenty and odd Negroes.” Race-based enslavement would eventually become normalized in the decades to come. Though the original colonists attempted to fortify what is now known as Old Point Comfort repeatedly, destruction always ensued leaving the area vulnerable to competing entities. It was not until after the War of 1812 that the young United States Army constructed Fort Monroe as a part of a defense strategy against future attacks. Construction began in 1819 and was not fully completed until much later in 1836. A young Robert E. Lee directed the final phase of construction between 1831-1834. Ironically, Lee had constructed a Union stronghold essential during the Civil War when much of Virginia was in the hands of the Confederacy. Abraham Lincoln visited the fort briefly for four nights during the war and saw the USS Monitor and the CSS Virginia fighting in the nearby waters. Though a Virginia slave owner demanded the return of escaped enslaved persons at Fort Monroe in 1861, General Benjamin Butler refused as they were a “contraband of war.” This action led to the United States Congress adopting the First Confiscation Act, which meant that escaped enslaved persons from an active state in rebellion would be kept out of the hands of Southern slave owners. Just a few years later in 1863, Lincoln’s Emancipation Proclamation made it clear that the North was intent on ending slavery for good. Since former President Barack Obama designated Fort Monroe as a national monument in 2011 after its formal decommission by the Army, the National Park Service can fully interpret all components of the site. This includes the two-year confinement of Jefferson Davis at the fort, as well as its strategic importance during World War I and World War II. It is a site that shows the benefits of historic preservation and redevelopment, and we felt a unique sense of fulfillment incorporating the fort into our last journey of this project.
Tumblr media
Once we had driven around the large fort for about fifteen minutes, we finally found a map that helped us find all the important landmarks we wanted to see. As we were pulling away, we came across our first stop. There was a historic marker at the top of the Casemate Museum that caught all of our attention. “Confinement of Jefferson Davis” is what the marker was titled. At Fort Monroe, in what is now the Casemate Museum, Davis spent the first four and a half months of his short two year prison sentence. The 1932 marker only detailed facts about his imprisonment, but right below this sign was a plaque installed by the United Daughters of the Confederacy that was riddled with the Lost Cause narrative. The plaque honors Dr. John J. Craven, U.S. Army doctor, who took care of Davis as he was imprisoned. He, according to the UDC, “lightened the monotony, loneliness, and the physical suffering of Jefferson Davis.” The sign did not stop there with the odd language of calling Davis a “prisoner of war.” He was not a prisoner of war. The war was over, Davis was imprisoned because of his crimes of treason. He was never tried and was released after two years. It is an example of one of the largest injustices in our country’s history that added fuel to the fire of the Lost Cause.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Just down the road we came across an arch above a large hill, overlooking the ocean across the way. It was formerly an entrance to a small memorial park to Jefferson Davis. The UDC installed the overwhelming metal arch in 1956 with the approval of the US Army to “commemorate the imprisonment of Confederate President Jefferson Davis at Fort Monroe.” It was shocking, but also quite expected for the times, to us that the US Army would approve the arch dedicated to a traitor. It was also unsettling because of what was happening in our country at the time. In the 1950s and 1960s the rise of the modern Civil Rights Movement was taking place. Organizations, like the UDC, were making sure their presence was known and making racist statements across the country. In August 2019 the name of the park was removed and the area was reinterpreted. We were all impressed with the signage from the National Park Service that told the full truth about what the memorial park was and meant for those who installed it. The signage was blatantly honest about why the arch was put up, along with the many other types of Confederate memorials across the South. The signage states that these memorials “ … highlight(s) the intent to exclude African Americans from public life and civil liberties.” The signage even speaks to how “ … Davis stood as the most vocal proponent of the claim the war had been a constitutional struggle, not a fight over the future of slavery in the United States, His claim was part of the Lost Cause crusade….” It was a proud moment to see how well the NPS is interpreting the history of the past mistakes at Fort Monroe. Lastly, as we stood under the arch, overlooking the ocean, we could see the signage for where the proposed First Africans memorial will go. We couldn’t tell if this was a coincidence or just a powerful twist of fate for the two sites to coincide in such a way. We are thankful for the correct interpretation of history here at Fort Monroe.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Before Fort Monroe was a military installation, Old Point Comfort was where the White Lion brought African captives to be sold into indentured servitude. The arrival of the 20-30 Bantu Angolans was the catalyst for slavery in America. We were able to park near a fishing pier and easily found the sign. The sign explains the arrival briefly and also introduces a couple, Antony and Isabella, who were two captives on the White Lion. They had a child named William, who is believed to be the first child born in Virginia with African ancestry. The sign concludes with a statement confirming the facts of Virginia creating a system of hereditary slavery, which would last until 1865 with the ratification of the 13th amendment. Each of us had an emotional reaction to seeing this historical sign as the sun went down for the day. We looked out towards the ocean, closed our eyes, and heard the crashing waters below. This place is where one of the greatest travesties of United States history began to form as an institution. After shedding a few tears, we walked down to the future site of the African Landing Memorial. Sculpted by Brian Owens, the memorial will allow further reflection upon America’s greatest violation of human rights and dignity. To move forward, one must look to errors of the past. If all Americans can do this, maybe we will be able to realize the true potential of a free nation.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Our last stops at the fort were two signs detailing the former locations of the Contraband Hospital and Contraband Quarters. In the beginning of the Civil War, General Benjamin Butler took in hundreds of enslaved people who had run away from the hands of those who owned them. He called them “Contrabands of War” as they were property of those who they were fighting against and General Butler confiscated such “useful property.” There was no mention of emancipation, but ultimately this policy led to thousands of formerly enslaved workers to be freed. The resilience the enslaved had to make such a journey from all over the South is a momentous accomplishment. Freedom was never easy to achieve and the hard fight never came without hardship. After travelling the long roads to freedom, most of the men, women, and children had been injured or faced illness along the way. The Contraband Hospital was set up exclusively for the freed people who were facing these struggles. Harriet Tubman worked as a nurse at the Fort Monroe hospital for a short period of time. Fort Monroe holds some of our earliest histories, darkest moments, and many highlights that are important for all Americans to see and remember.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Our final stop in the Hampton area was the small town of Phoebus. A small, rundown town in the middle of a revitalization, stood out to us as we were on the way back from Fort Monroe. Only about a mile away from Phoebus is a national cemetery for servicemen and women. But, the most interesting piece of history we discovered was a small historic marker that was titled “Slabtown.” Slabtowns were the pop up neighborhoods of the hundreds of freed people making homes for themselves out of slabs, which are leftover cuts of bark from the local sawmill. Many of those freed people’s descendants still live in Phoebus and surrounding areas today. We found this stop to be inspiring as not only does their story live on, but their familial legacy too.

President Donald Trump addressed the nation on Saturday during his Salute to America celebration from the White House, where he announced the first round of historical figures to be included in the National Garden of American Heroes.
Trump’s remarks were made during his Salute to America celebration, which was created to pay respect to American military heroes and celebrate Independence Day. Trump said:
To celebrate America’s majestic inheritance, yesterday I signed an executive order to create a brand new monument to our most beloved icons. The National Garden of American Heroes will be a vast, outdoor park that will feature the statues of the greatest Americans who have ever lived.
We will honor extraordinary citizens from every community, from every place, and from every part of our nation. Great men and great women. People that we can look up to forever. Families will be able to walk among the statues of titans.
President Trump announced the names of the “icons” who would receive statues first on Saturday, including: John Adams, Susan B. Anthony, Clara Barton, Daniel Boone, Joshua Lawrence Chamberlain, Henry Clay, Davy Crockett, Frederick Douglass, Amelia Earhart, Benjamin Franklin, Billy Graham, Alexander Hamilton, Thomas Jefferson, Martin Luther King, Jr., Abraham Lincoln, Douglas MacArthur, Dolley Madison, James Madison, Christa McAuliffe, Audie Murphy, George S. Patton, Jr., Ronald Reagan, Jackie Robinson, Betsy Ross, Antonin Scalia, Harriet Beecher Stowe, Harriet Tubman, Booker T. Washington, George Washington, and Orville and Wilbur Wright.
An executive order from President Trump, which implemented the plans to establish the National Garden of American Heroes on Friday, said that none of the figures featured in the Garden “will have lived perfect lives, but all will be worth honoring, remembering, and studying.”
The order also states:
To destroy a monument is to desecrate our common inheritance. These statues are not ours alone, to be discarded at the whim of those inflamed by fashionable political passions; they belong to generations that have come before us and to generations yet unborn. My Administration will not abide an assault on our collective national memory.
On Friday, in South Dakota, President Trump claimed protesters were “determined to tear down every statue, symbol, and memory of our national heritage.”

President Trump put on two great patriotic events yesterday and today that the lying leftist media calls "dark and divisive" but most American patriots applaud. TRUMP 2020!

Bravo! Excellent tribute!. Trump proves again that he loves this country. How refreshing to have a patriotic president that shows his respect for our nation. Unlike Obama and the previous demorats before him! Obama worked overtime to destroy us and he sure wasn't the only one. The Marxists prove daily how much hatred they have for our country. If Biden is elected, the left will try to burn our country down within a few weeks and Biden and his... VP... would allow it!!!
I hope all my fellow patriots had a wonderful 4th of July. May God bless you and keep your loved ones safe! I pray the same for our country!

It was so good to see something good and positive about this country! With all the destruction and negative reporting I. The last weeks, we forget what is good and the good that our country is really all about! The majority of Americans believe In the good of this country. Hopefully that includes republicans, democrats and independents! 🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸

Clinton created Bin Laden and did nothing about USS Cole and the first Trade Center attack. And Bin Laden was already dead when they staged that (to boost Obama poll numbers) he’d been on dialysis for years, no body no proof they dumped the body in the ocean so you can’t verify with family or anyone

Evaris & Gavvrok: Origins 💕
I need to ramble about my Married OCs SO INCREDIBLY BADLY so here we go!!!!!!!!
Evaris (he/him) is Vulcan (and a quarter Romulan), raised by a multi-species polycule with only one other Vulcan in it after his birth parents died, considered V’Tosh Ka’tur by most of his culture. Gavvrok (he/him, chah/ghah) is a Soul Warrior (transgender), broke out of his family’s restaurant industry to join Starfleet, took a break to protest the Klingon-Cardassian war, then returned shortly after. Neither of them really “fit in” to the cultures that bore them, and thus found comfort in each other.
Evaris Saved Gavvrok’s Life As A Meet Cute
They’ve married for three years, and bonded for four. They met five years ago on Khitomer Orbital 3 when Evaris prevented an assassination attempt on Gavvrok by a Gowron Loyalist for his activism on Qo’nos. The two became dear friends not long after.
Evaris’s Pon Farr
Almost year later, Evaris was put in the perilous position of entering his first Pon Farr with no bondmate to speak of. Gavvrok went out of his way to look for answers, and found himself to be the safest and most compatible option aboard. Not only as a Klingon (strong enough to physically handle Evaris’s volatile state), but as the closest person emotionally to Evaris aboard. He essentially lured Evaris to the holodeck and convinced him to let him help. Using all of his Tangqa’ training, Klingon strength and warrior’s training, and his deep affection for his friend. The both of them survived, and remained Bonded afterward.
Logic, Honor, and Tal-shaya
Becoming increasingly worried about Gavvrok’s safety, he attempts to teach Gavvrok Tal-shaya, the deadliest of Vulcan martial arts. This greatly upsets Gavvrok, they had a massive fight (both verbal and physical sparring) over it. Gavvrok called him “an honorless skulking cold-hearted puppet master”, Evaris called him “antiquated and illogical” and revealed he had a lot more prejudice toward Klingons than he had realized. Daring claim maybe the more common interpretation of “the Klingon way” was the right one occasionally, and that Gav didn’t have the strength to stick to it. They wouldn’t speak for weeks, couldn’t even be in the same room because of the Bond. With no means of unbinding themselves, they decided to confront each other. The air was cleared, apologies (mostly Evaris’s) were made. They went on to discuss how names like “Surak” and “Kahless” and words like “honor” and “logic” can be used to justify just about anything. Gavvrok has just as complicated a relationship with honor as Evaris does with logic, a relationship that has made them outcasts on their own worlds. Gavvrok willingly learns Tal-shaya, but only as a test of his own sense of Honor not to use it. Evaris reluctantly agrees, feeling like he has somehow tainted an otherwise peaceful soul.
The Ridiculously Massive Wedding
Bonded for a year, they decided it was time to tie the knot, a blend between Vulcan and Klingon marital traditions. The party was HUGE, not even because either of them are particularly popular. Between Evaris’s family being a polycule plus all of his siblings (and nieces and nephews) and extended family from that and Gavvrok’s big ol’ Klingon family, and all their friends on the station. They held it on Khitomer just to prevent causing a fire hazard on the station. It was confused for a diplomatic meeting by a few disgruntled ambassadors and embassy employees. The most drama that came out of it was one of Gavvrok’s cousins being a little too into the idea of Kalifee but also having NO IDEA how it works so she didn’t end up causing a diplomatic incident.

The U.S.S. Tubman
(Yes I KNOW that’s the Roosevelt but I can’t design ships and this is the closest to what I have in my brain)
Class: Amnesty
Era: 2360s-present
Ships Compliment: 100
Maximum Capacity: up to 250 civilians in addition to crew.
The USS Tubman is part of the crucial but unsung hero ships known as the Amnesty Class. Formerly in the background, Amnesty Class into its own quiet power during the Cardassian and Dominion Wars escorting refugees to safe harbor. Part scout, part soldier, part civilian frigate, part rehabilitation center, all Starfleet. Her crew is light, but her heart is big. The Tubman is a tough as nails, classy old lady. Her post-war mission consists in the breakdown of illegal trafficking of sentient life, the secure escort of perpetrators to rehabilitation, and the distribution of victims back to their families or other places of safety.
The Tubman abides by the 6R Amnesty Class motto
Reconnaissance
Rescue
Rehabilitation
Resolution
Reconnection
Redistribution

Personnel File: Zjardona Daro
Tumblr media
Position: Captain of the U.S.S. Tubman Rank: Captain Species: Trill, Joined Gender: Female Year of Birth: 2322 Age: 58 Place of Birth: Trill Prime Height: 1.85 meters Weight: 81 kilograms Eye Color: Brown Hair Color: Black Family: Kanisi (Wife, Divorced 2369), Reeza Kellan (Sister, Captain of the U.S.S. Perseverance), Balel Daro (Son, Previous Host, Deceased 2367) Education: Starfleet Academy (Class of 2347), Trill Symbiosis Commission Institute (Complete 2370)
Service Record: Ensign U.S.S. Herald (2348), Lieutenant U.S.S. Alcibiades (2351), Lieutenant Cmdr. U.S.S. Joan of Arc (2358), Commander of U.S.S. Yousafzai (2372), Captain of U.S.S Tubman (2378)
Background Story: Versatile ship and training record, primarily trained in couriering, defense, and emergency medical services, making her uniquely suited for command of an Amnesty Class Starship. Zjardona's career was primarily security oriented, but she decided to change course after the battle of Wolf 359, her son was among the casualties. In violation of Reassociation laws from which the circumstances provided pardon. The symbiont was placed in Balel's mother in order to save Daro's life. Zjardona Daro took an emergency leave of absence from Starfleet in order to train at the Symbiont Commission to assimilate the Daro symbiont, as well as to mourn the loss of her son. She was reinstated aboard the Yousafzai a decorated veteran, her first experience with an Amnesty class starship. She "fell in love with them" and currently has command of her own, one of the oldest and most venerated Amnesty Class starships, the Tubman.
Personality Profile: Highly compassionate and a consummate professional. While a more diplomatic and matronly officer now, her early Starfleet career was defined by bold decisions that harbored a militaristic edge that kept Starfleet on it's toes while she served on the Joan. That fiery disposition has not been lost but instead refined with the arrival of the Daro symbiont. She carries the tragedy of her son's death (and the similar deaths of many of Daro's previous hosts) on her shoulders with strength and grace.
Physical Profile: Average height and build for Trill female, violet tinted brown eyes, graying curly black hair, Trill markings are purple (a recessive trait amongst the species).
Special Notes: The Symbiosis Commission is a bit superstitious and overprotective regarding the Daro symbiont. Daro allegedly has a habit of inhabiting hosts who have die violently in times of war, whether they're soldiers or not. According to Starfleet records, five of Daro's seven previous hosts to Zjardona have died as civilian or military casualties, Daro barely surviving each time. This subject must be handled with diplomatic caution regarding the commission.

For the soft OC asks 🥰
Chief Milly
3,7,17,22
Originating from This Ask Game, feel free to participate! Soft OC asks for Chief Umami Vermillion coming right up!! Please reblog if you enjoyed!
Chief Milly!
Tumblr media
How does your OC React to affectionate gestures?
Jhadima Answers: Oh my gosh!! I'm not trying to be belittling when I say this because, I mean, I know better because other than them I am the shortest crew member aboard. Believe me I checked the ship's database, and they ARE senior staff so it would be disrespectful to say so but if I have permission to speak freely? They Are So CUTE!! One time I gave them a kiss on the forehead because they did me a HUGE favor and they just, they wiggled! Sometimes they go "oh gracious me!" or "goodness!" or something like that. They said thank you which I know is like, an earth mint smell and turning bright yellow. But this time, this time this time this time! They did this thing with their mouth(?) that made a little *pop* sound like blowing a kiss back! They're the sweetest, I love them.
What makes them blush?
Jhadima Answers: They don't really blush, I mean, they change color but not like we do, they do get flustered easy! Usually, even though they've been doing their job for like, a billion years, any time you tell them they're doing a really good job, or just, like, go even a little out of your way do something nice for them. They get all mushy like it's the first time anybody ever complimented them in their whole life! So it's really not that hard to make Chief Milly get all minty on you. *giggles*
Tumblr media
Do they have a comfort food, who makes it best?
Dr. Gavvrok Answers: I normally do the cooking whenever it's time to pull together a warrior's banquet for the senior staff. Ashayam- Commander Evaris has many talents but cooking is not one of them! Milly's got the taste of a Klingon warrior, I only wish the rest of the crew's taste would gain their courage! There is this deep sea eel worm delicacy from their world that is reminiscent of Gagh. Now, my family and I take Gagh very seriously, I am the only member of my family that hasn't made a career out of it to put it lightly. But it reminds us both of home, it's one thing to only be able to make such things for yourself, but two is an excuse to challenge the replicator a little! They've told me while it doesn't taste exactly like home, they enjoy the twist inherent to my people's culinary style even more! Which I am very honored to hear.
Tumblr media
Who knows how they like their favorite drink best?
Counselor T'Wan Answers: Prismaticans are amphibious, hydration is a constant and crucial need when a member of their species is spending extended time out of water. Prismaticans do not drink so much as breathe and absorb. They order a diffusion of oceanic minerals and a flora local to their home called "the breaching sunleaf" in bulk from the Hearth's Call replimat and have it sent down to engineering. They prefer it at about 26 degrees Celsius, same temperature as the water in their quarters. They often ask that I diffuse it myself, a common request from individuals of a more sentimental disposition. It brings them joy, a crucial emotion to the homeostasis of many non-Vulcans, which is the goal of my position here. Do you wish me to further digress on this topic? Or may I leave to continue distributing positive neurochemical responses to my patrons?

Obsessed with my new Ferengi OC I would kill for her (I’m releasing her personnel file soon)
She’s like if every Jane Austen and Barbara Streisand protagonist became one, singular, four foot eleven Ferengi woman
She is three ounces of whoop ass and wants to make captain before she hits 40
She’s absolutely nuts and I love her
I can’t wait for y’all to meet her.

Personnel File (Reactivated) J'tk S'zhr T'Wan
Tumblr media
Position: Civilian Xenoanthropology Counselor, Bartender at Hearth's Call Replimat aboard U.S.S. Tubman Rank: Former Commander, Specialist/Counselor Species: Vulcan Gender: Female Date of Birth: 2187 Age: 193 Place of Birth: Ta'Vaish, T'Khasi (Vulcan) Height: 1.65 meters Weight: 56 kilograms Eye Color: Green Hair Color: Greying Blonde Family: *J'tk T'zai Evaris (grandson, biological)
*Civilian is Kolinahru and no longer maintains social or familial ties, relative only listed in relevance to her current stationing. Education: Vulcan Science Academy (Class of 2213), Starfleet Academy (Class of 2220), The Kolinahru Monastery (Completed 2319, departed 2378) Service Record: Starbase 1383, Ensign, Researcher (2224), U.S.S. King Jr., Lieutenant Jr. Grade, Consultant (2230), U.S.S. Kelvin, Lieutenant, Head of Social Sciences (2238), U.S.S. Horizon, Lieutenant Commander, Science Officer (2246), Vulcan Lunar Colony 7 (2301), U.S.S. Curie, Commander, Science Officer (2310)
Background Story: Although the civilian is formerly a Starfleet officer, she is the only active duty individual in any Starfleet capacity, former, diplomatic or otherwise, that is regarded (with some philosophical conflict) to be a Kolinahr Master. She became a civilian counselor upon special request by Starfleet, but expressly by choice. Not for the sake of the connections of her former life or familial ties, but as a challenge to her mastery. She considers the decision highly logical. She has always found how rituals around food and beverages that temporarily alter mental states a topic of intellectual curiosity, and thus has volunteered her services in the Replimat when she is not needed as xenoanthropological consultation.
Personality Profile: She is of the reasoning that one cannot truly be considered a "master" of anything if they can only maintain their mastery in an environmental and sociological vacuum. That if to be Kolinahru is to no longer make the distinction between the self and the universe, one must not object to changing the patterns of their life. If to be Kolinahru is to fully embrace the teachings of the Kir'Shara, she must move with the Threads of Kaiidith, Growth, and Service as logic and life indicate them to her.
Physical Profile: Vulcans of this civilian's advanced age are a bit of a rarity on active duty starships, let alone as members of ship's crew compliment. Dark blonde hair fading to grey, and light green eyes and general resemblance to her biological descendant who serves aboard the Tubman. Chooses to use makeup and hair stylings of 23rd century Vulcan fashion, logically claimed as means to an end in provoking curiosity in the ship's replimat.
Special Notes: Caution, Civilian's biological descendant is of a clandestinely volatile nature, known in private records to be one quarter Romulan. Civilian invited to be partially recommissioned with the intent on gaining further insight to the officer's heritage as well as for potentially Lt. Cmdr. Evaris and her own safety, including the sanctity and seclusion of the monastery she formerly resided in.

Position: Helmsman, *Researcher (See Special Notes) Rank: Ensign Species: Cardassian Gender: Male Date of Birth: 2358 Age: 22 Place of Birth: Bajor Height: 1.81 meters Weight: 62 kilograms Eye Color: Brown Hair Color: Black Family: Kotan Pa'Dar (Father), Proka Migdal (Foster Father), Proka Nali (Foster Mother) Education: Starfleet Academy (Class of 2379)
Service Record: U.S.S. Tubman (Present)
Background Story: Raised for the first twelve years of his childhood on Bajor by Bajorans. Relocated to biological family on Cardassia by legal procedure via Captain Benjamin Sisko, known by religious Bajorans as "The Emissary", now a part of the collective of Wormhole Aliens near Deep Space Nine. Officer relocated from Cardassia immediately after reaching legal Cardassian adulthood, accepted to Starfleet Academy discreetly due to volatile political nature of Officer's heritage. Assigned to U.S.S. Tubman for his Cadet Cruise and chose to stay, continuing aspects of Starfleet education long-distance.
Personality Profile: A highly proficient, if socially withdrawn young officer. Partially ascribed to the unfortunately solitary nature of his Academy training. Considers his Starfleet career as part of a "pilgrimage" in order to reconcile his diametrically opposed heritages between biological and foster families. Still practices the Bajoran faith of his foster parents, has a peculiar relationship with the memory of Captain Sisko. Believes walking the path of "The Emissary" will enlighten him to the nature of Sisko's actions regarding his parental custody, and his personal belief system as well.
Physical Profile: Unusually narrow build for a Cardassian, wears his hair tail length and wears his Proka family earring on his right ear, a keepsake of his foster family.
Special Notes: One of the only Cardassians in all of Starfleet, and the son of a former Cardassian political figure, handle with caution. Ensign Migdal-Pa'dar is completing his Starfleet Academy degree in Xenoanthropology, specializing in Religious Studies by researching and writing his final thesis on the religious practices and attitudes of displaced refugees. Requested commission aboard an Amnesty Class ship, Starfleet granted his request.

Not to get all fanon-y, but you know what?
La’an was rescued from the Gorn by the U.S.S. King Junior.
What if the King Jr. was a 2260s era Amnesty Class starship, or at least the prototype for the Amnesty Class? Literally the entire naming scheme has deliberately been historically significant liberators of oppressed minority groups.
Unless we get told otherwise that’s what I’m headcanoning now so 😎😜

What if I told y’all I have an OC ship and crew in the works of my brain that I will not shut the fuck up about once I post the low-down and would love to be interrogated about soon?
Okay just as a teaser
A post Voyager LWD/Prodigy era alien crew (Trill, two Vulcans, a Klingon, a Cardassian raised by Bajorans from DS9 canon, a Ferengi and an OC alien race I call Prismatican)
In a ship specifically designed to discreetly escort refugees called Amnesty Class, this ship’s particular post-war mission to bust humanoid trafficking rings within Federation space.
Hold on to your tits y’all
The USS Tubman is about to come into orbit 😎

Background Story: The first Prismatican to join Starfleet after the planet Iris joined the Federation in 2240. A long and illustrious career in 23rd century engineering marked by vast improvements in transporter speeds and turbolift safety protocols for which Milly was the primary architect. Spent a little over a half century as a tenured professor as they and their mates raised their centurial brood of Prismlings to adulthood. Once their children reached adulthood they once again decided to reach for the stars, carrying over a century of teaching skills and transportation innovation with them to the U.S.S. Tubman.
Personality Profile: An incredibly chipper, patient, and polite officer with a long career in transportation, safety measures, and teaching. They have a strong affinity for humanoids, particularly young ones, that sets them apart from much of their culture. As they enter their species' approximation of old age, they seek to spend their golden years exploring the stars as they once did as a Prismling.
Physical Profile: Tall for a Prismatican but on the smaller side of Starfleet participating Federation members. Default coloration is commonly described as Vermillion, and their default scent is what humans would describe as a smokey/fatty scent known as "umami".
Special Notes: Requires complex personal translator equipment due to the Prismatican language's unique nature. As well as personal quarters accommodative for amphibious life. Side Note: I would like @plaguedoctorsnake for being partially responsible for this OC through their Pike x Reader request resulting in my fanfiction "Color Coded"!
