"Ugh, I'm so full," Kaira said as she laid her head on Yeona's back.
"I told you not to pack so much food," Yeona said, turning to a new page to draw.
"I can't help it that mom bought so many good snacks while we were gone." Kaira adjusted herself so that she could watch the people hanging out by the stream.
"Don't blame mom for your lack of control," Yeona laughed.
"What do you think their story is?" Kaira asked, changing the subject. Yeona didn't have to turn her head to see who her friend was talking about. She had seen the seven men at the bottom of the hill when they arrived a couple of hours ago. She and Kaira watched them and everyone else near the stream as they ate and chatted.
"Robbers, who have come to rob the village for all its money and take us, single women, as their wives," Yeona said as she started placing the finishing touches on her final design.
"I don't get bad vibes from them, though, and I know you don't either. Or else you wouldn't have let Namjon walk you home last night," Kaira said, sitting up.
"He didn't really give me a choice," Yeona mumbled.
"You know as well as I do, Yeo that if you would have gotten any bad feelings from them you would have run," Kaira said as she stood up. "I'll be back in a bit. I need to go talk to someone."
"Ok," Yeona replied as she watched her friend brush off her shirt and make her way down the hill.
Yeona sat up and stretched before going back over each sketch. She was pretty happy about how they looked. She was also thankful that the guys had been at the stream today. She was able to observe them and get a feeling for what she thought they might like. She had decided to do as her father did with her sword. Each of theirs had a different colored cord that matched the small drawing at the bottom of the case. Nothing too fancy but still unique. It also put less pressure on the men at the shop. They'd be able to get them done quicker and move on to other jobs.
"Please help yourselves. We brought so much food, and we don't want it to go to waste.” Yeona looked up at the sound of her friend's voice. She had returned to their spot with the seven men.
"Good evening Noona," Jungkook said as he sat beside her. "What are you drawing?" He asked with a mouth full of food.
"A surprise," Yeona said as she quickly closed her sketchbook.
"Is it our swords? Can I see them?" He asked, reaching for her book.
"It wouldn't be a surprise if I showed you then now, would it?" Yeona quipped, smacking his hand.
"Can I draw something?" Yeona looked at Jungkook, who was looking at her with puppy dog eyes. "Please?"
"I don't usually let people draw in my books." Jungkook gave her a pout.
"Let him draw Yeo. It's not like mom didn't buy you ten before we left last month.” Kaira said as she poured the guys something to drink.
"I was going to say yes," Yeona said, handing Jungkook her sketchbook. "How can you look at that face and say no?" She pouted. "Just draw in the back, please." Jungkook smiled at her and opened the back of the book.
"How many of them do you have left anyway?" Kaira asked.
"That's the last one." Yeona mumbled.
"Did you say that was the last one? I know you didn't go through them that fast." Kaira raised an eyebrow at her. "You gave them away, didn't you? Yeona, you have to stop giving all your things away. My mom buys you things because she..."
"I know that I am too stubborn to spend it on myself." She said, cutting her off. "And your mom knows that if I see someone who needs the stuff more than me, I will give it to them. Why do you think she buys me so much at once?"
"So, where are you guys from?" Kaira asked, breaking the staring contest that she was having with her friend. She knew that Yeona would be upset as soon as she had said it. But she couldn't figure out why her friend was so set on helping other people all the time, while she did without the finer things in life. Her mom would buy Yeona clothes, and she'd give away her old ones or sometimes even the new ones without a second thought. She'd even spend money on food for the beggars in the street before she bought herself any.
"Emelle." The sound of Namjoon's deep voice beside Yeona made her jump. She didn't realize he had sat beside her.
"Oh, that's on the other side of the capitol, right?" Kaira asked.
"Yes," Namjoon answered without looking up from his book.
"That explains the proper way you talk and your expensive clothes." The five men sitting near her looked down at their clothes.
"I don't think our clothes are costly," Hoseok said.
"They are. You won't find anyone this far out wearing something like that. Well, unless they have a lot of money and visit the capitol often like my family. Why didn't you guys bring horses or weapons if you came this far? And why would you pick a little village like Hwen?"
"Kaira, did you bring them here to interrogate them?" Yeona asked, irritated at her friend's never-ending questions.
"I was just trying to get to know them," Kaira replied.
"There are less intrusive ways to get to know them," Yeona said as she looked over at what Jungkook was drawing. She had no idea what Kaira's mission was, but it was upsetting her. First, it was her and now the guys.
"No peeking, Noona," Jungkook said as he turned his back to her. Revenge for her closing the book on him earlier.
"I just wanted to see what you were drawing." She pulled her knees to her chest and watched the six people in front of her chat.
"It's a surprise. And you looking would spoil the surprise." She couldn't help but laugh at that.
"What are you reading?" Yeona asked, looking over at Namjoon, who had his head in his hand as he read.
"A book." He spoke softly out the side of his mouth that wasn't covered by his hand.
"It's about art?" Yeona asked as she started to read what was on the pages.
"Yes." She moved her head a little closer so that she could see more of the page. "Are you still upset with your friend?" Namjoon asked softly as he moved his arm out of her way.
"A little, yes." She said softly enough so only he and Jungkook could hear it, "You didn't have to move your arm.
"You can't read the next page if my arm is on it." He pointed out. "And you need the distraction of reading as much as I do right now."

Oh!! Hcs of Helpy existing in SB? (Bonus if he help with the lawsuits if the pizzaplex ever get some ofc, and fixing the cameras-)
*plot twist: Helpy is the Pizzaplex's lawyer if they ever get sue, he will being out his little briefcase and ready to defend the Pizzaplex with all his power of his tiny hands but when he not the Pizzaplex lawyer he usually at information/ help desk providing visitors information they might need to know about the Pizzaplex and he have a little side job at the Daycare helping Sundrop set up his puppet show.*
When Helpy isn't working he usually spend his time as the flagman for Roxanne Raceway or helping backstage ( I have a small headconon that Helpy is a bit of a workaholic and will only take breaks if you focus him too *
* I would like to think Helpy just like his name would help Greogry escape the Pizzaplex by crawling into small spaces that Greogry can't reach and distracting the other animatronics with his air horn *
* otherwise we will have another tiny music man on our hands ( aka Helpy get a knife )*
* Helpy Generally get along with the Glamrocks due to how helpful (no pun intention) he is around the place *
* Vanessa is the only one that isn't a big fan of Helpy due to him being a bit loud at times *
* Greogry depending if Helpy is on his side or not would really Helpy for giving things that he need to escape or dropkick him out of the window if Helpy dare try to stab him again*
* if this the same Helpy from pizza simulator, he would have little pictute of Michael with him since he miss his old companion since the fire*

I am Machine Character Headcanons-
Lefty Alec Roberts Helpy
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Alec Roberts (Protagonist of Lonely Freddy)
15 years old, soul is completely confined to a Lonely Freddy (he can't break free without the use of magic).
Over some time, he has gotten use to the body and is able to move easier, in the beginning, he really struggled to walk but now he can do things quicker.
Mouth moves when he talks but his voice is projected from the speaker, it sounds like it's coming though a radio when he talks (it nearly scared him to death when he heard it for the first time as he thought he might never be able to talk again).
Personality changed since Lonely Freddy, he is more anxious, depressed and afraid. But he slowly opens up to Lefty and Helpy.
Alec admittedly feels abandoned by his family, he reasons they should have known him well enough to be able to tell the differences between him and an imposter, and because they can't tell the difference he feels alone.
Alec is not in a good mental place, he keeps questioning why he did certain things and sometimes reasons he “deserved what happened to him”, other times he gets angry at himself, then promptly breaks down crying because he remembers he lost everything and he can only blame himself.
Alec was initially afraid of the robots, he reasoned they could kill him so he never risked getting near them until he was discovered by accident (he fell asleep by accident, he thought he couldn't sleep anymore).
Alec already had trouble sleeping (insomnia+nightmares) which carried over when he was body swapped, Lefty is helping him manage with that so he can sleep the whole night without having a nightmare.
Alec doesn’t like talking about the “bin” or the other Lonely Freddy's, it makes him scared and depressed (low key would present some behaviours of person suffering from PTSD), it gives him creepy nightmares from time to time (imagine the Toy Story 2 nightmare scene, they are kind of similar).
Alec doesn’t like the dark or cramped spaces because they remind him of the bin, he also doesn’t like being a place where he can’t escape.
There are moments where his old personality seeps though and when he gets angry at Lefty or Helpy, he immediately feels bad despite them not really caring if he gets angry at them.
Alec has dysgraphia (he has messy handwriting and takes an extremely long time to write clearly, he was never diagnosed), Alec just thinks he has really bad handwriting until Lefty observes him writing one day and asks him “Do you have dysgraphia?” and Alec immediately asks what the hell that is with Lefty explaining he has clear symptoms of it.
Alec has a sort of hard time asking for emotional support, especially from the animatronics of all people, but it comes to the point where Alec regularly tells Lefty what's on his mind, because he's never really had emotional support, so he wasn’t open to the idea of talking until Lefty assured him he did want to help him and he would listen, and that's all Alec wants, somebody to listen to him.
Alec slowly finds he's becoming a better person around Lefty and Helpy, with Lefty assuring him that everything he did is able to be fixed as long as he wants to fix it (which he does want to). Lefty essentially wants Alec to not loose his hope.
Lefty
He is programmed to embody a caring meteor role for kids, unlike the other animatronics, Lefty can provide insightful advice (with a strange twist sometimes).
Lefty's personality is honest (can be brutal at times), loyal, kind, caring, attentive but he can also get angry if provoked enough.
Lefty believes in second chances for people who deserve it (that's why he wants to help Alec).
Lefty can perform magic, his specialities include “Good Luck” spells, Soul reformation (restoring a soul temporarily to their correct/previous form), feeling the presences of a Soul/Evil entity and generating a shield to protect himself or another person he cares for.
Lefty is the most intelligent out of everyone (he's also slightly more advanced), when he was created, he was created with the intention for him to constantly learn from experience and that ultimately shaped his personality whereas the other robots were already given personalities.
Lefty can pick up on things, examples: he can sense Alec's soul as a human, he can read certain behaviours that are linked to mental illnesses, he can sense if a child is afraid of their parents (which to him, means abuse or neglect is happening, which Lefty doesn’t stand for).
Lefty has a knowledge of fixing robots but doesn’t call on it unless necessary. Yes Lefty can feel a sensation like pain or discomfort when his exoskeleton is effected by something (i.e. broken part, disconnected joint).
Lefty also builds little things that he uses frequently, he built a pocket watch that contains his own version of an illusion disk which can give him a human form if he has it on his person, he also used magic and mechanics to build a pair of visor goggles that block hypnosis (he made a pair for himself, Helpy and Alec).
Lefty is super alert, if he's in a party room and hears a kid screaming from the front of the pizzeria, he will get there quicker than you can say “Fazbear”.
Lefty's go to drink is usually coffee but he has like twenty different teas on a shelf in the communal area (his favourite teas being chamomile, rooibos, lavender, black tea and peppermint, he also doesn’t mind occasionally having a chai latte).
Lefty has a routine of patrolling the back rooms during the day.
His usual schedule is as followed:
—Wake at about 12:00 pm afternoon.
—Ready to start working by 1:00 pm after a coffee.
—First patrol of the day before he starts entertaining.
—Lunchtime before showtime at 3:00 pm.
—Second patrol at about 4:00 pm.
—Third patrol at 7:00 pm.
—Final patrol at 9:30 pm (just before closing time)
—10:00 pm, time to eat something.
—Either going to his room or standing near Prize Corner (He is physically there but he isn’t mentally present, he is deep in thought but can be brought back easily into reality).
—12:00 am (Midnight) usually does a few rehearsals.
—1:30 am Bedtime.
Or if he needs to be awake at opening time:
—9:00 am wake up.
—Ready for opening time at 11:00 am.
—First patrol at 1:30 pm after he has lunch.
—Second patrol at 3:30 pm after showtime.
—Third patrol at 7:00 pm.
—Last patrol at closing time.
—Eat something at 10:00 pm.
—Bedtime at 11:00 pm.
Lefty is both the oldest and biggest robot, he was technically completed last but was started first and they calculate his age based on the mental age he displays, which is 30s to 40s.
Lefty is a skilled fighter, he is programmed to automatically disarm a person if they have a weapon with the intent to hurt, Lefty has done this a total of 10 times over the years.
In regards to the last point, Lefty does cause injures often if he disarms someone, he doesn’t think about it and his programming just automatically says: “DISARM AND ARREST”. He often breaks the person's fingers, wrist or elbow if they don’t surrender easily. Anything to protect the children.
Needless to say: Lefty is protective of children and with Alec, he's extremely protective and doesn’t want to put him in danger, he knows that it's dangerous for him because he's small enough to go missing easily and with his soul in the wrong body, it's more likely some monster will take the chance to kill him and steal his soul. Lefty prefers if Alec is either: in his vision or with Helpy, Freddy, Security, Chica or Foxy because he can confirm they won’t take their eyes away from him for a moment.
Lefty is an empath and mirrors intense emotions as if he is the one experiencing them.
Relating to emotion, if Lefty sees Alec crying, he immediately goes to comfort him, it isn’t a particular response just for Alec as Lefty tries to comfort any crying kid but Lefty has been informed by Alec he really didn’t get a lot of attention (that's what sparks his hatred of Alec's parents), which is why whenever Alec obviously needs somebody to listen, Lefty will drop whatever he is doing and listens because he wants Alec to realise he does matter.
Lefty doesn’t sing a lot but his singing voice is quite soothing.
Lefty usually plays classical and jazz instruments like the piano, trumpet, drums, saxophone, cello, trombone among other random instruments he can play well.
Lefty has a flame thrower and he's not afraid to use it.
Lefty is the one who can see in the dark the best.
Relevant to Lonely Freddy: Lefty was hypnotised by one prior to the events of the story but he managed to snap himself out of it by stabbing himself in the eye, permanently blinding himself in one eye, he also saw one had hypnotised a girl but he interferes in the encounter and saves her from being body swapped, at that point, he is unaware they can body swap and only learns once he meets Alec and connects the dots.
He can talk to Marionette, who has a psychic connection with him.
Lefty is the robot who acts the most like his creator Henry Emily with him tinkering to keep himself from going bored, reading a lot and usually being independent (there are a lot of things Lefty does that directly compare to Henry).
Helpy
Obvious: Helpy's colour palette is loosely based on Funtime Freddy, but he isn’t as boisterous.
Helpy basically has the height of a young child, he is slightly taller than a Lonely Freddy.
Helpy usually likes to look on the bright side of things.
Helpy isn’t out and about in the pizzeria frequently during the day because he was kicked across the dining room by a teenager and he crashed directly into Freddy who was performing on stage, both of them were injured and disoriented, Helpy only vaguely remembers how badly Lefty lost his temper at the teenager (Lefty was threatening and screaming).
Helpy is friendly overall, he's also smarter than he looks.
Helpy aids Mike at night if he requires.
Helpy sometimes keeps the robots on alert by practicing certain situations where a child is in danger (he pretends he's a child) and the animatronics must response correctly (i.e. if a kidnapping is occurring, they must intercept the child and apprehend the suspect, then wait for police).
Revelant for Alec: Alec sees similarities between Helpy and Hazel, Helpy is unaware some of his behaviours remind Alec of his sister.
When Helpy gets scared, his usual reaction is to find Lefty and stay near him.
Helpy loves sweet items but if he consumes too much sugar, he gets extremely moody and tired (imagine Lefty trying to get him to sleep but Helpy is acting really cranky that Lefty is trying to force him to sleep, Lefty either uses magic to make him sleep or just leaves him be).
Helpy can also get angry when he's tired.
Essentially Lefty and Helpy's friendship dynamic balances between “brothers” and a “father/son” relationship, Helpy describes Lefty as his best friend.
Like Alec, Helpy can get into small spaces.
Helpy does a little happy dance when he's really excited, like the one in pizzeria simulator here:
Tumblr media
Hazel Roberts
Alec's younger sister, ten years old (Hazel's birthday is in April somewhere whereas Alec's birthday is confirmed as being on August 18th).
She's in two minds about “Alec” (Lonely Freddy-Imposter), while she's glad he gets along with her, the way that it happens... feels extremely unnatural to her, she’s sort of suspicious but not enough to just have an occasional thought of why does he do certain things now, if she had more concrete evidence.... she'd know he is an imposter and the real Alec's been missing for a while.
Over the years, she'd tried to observe Alec's interests and hopes she can use the information to get him to like her (The Yarg Foxy toy is relevant to this).
She has gone into Alec's room while he's not around, but she doesn’t disturb anything, worried her brother would immediately know she's been in there.
Hazel's a gerenous girl, and her wish is to have her brother as a friend and have her parents love him.
Hazel sometimes wears her hair in pigtails.
Hazel has had nightmares that make zero sense to her, but to someone like Lefty and Alec, the nightmares are clear warnings that an imposter has infiltrated her life.

Untouchable (Persona 5 Whump)
Non shippy fic of Iwai helpiing with Ren, who has gotten himself in a spot of trouble. From my fic ‘Vignettes of Comfort” on Ao3! (Trans-Akira, Guns, Threats, hurt, comfort, stabbing mention)
“Just stay under the radar, kid,” Iwai muttered, leaning against the cluttered desk in the back of his shop.
Ren looked him over; man, if he was 20 years older. Even 10. Damn. He banished those thoughts from his mind and tossed his hair from his eyes. “I pretty much live under the radar.”
That chuckle, more like a chainsaw revving than a laugh. “Good way to go through life, if you can. Now go on, get outta here. Ain’t got time to waste on a kid like you.”
“See you soon, then.” With a saucy salute, Ren bid Iwai farewell and left Untouchable. He was feeling pretty confident about his evening, knowing it had went well and that he was getting even more of a discount. Morgana, safely in his bag, chatted his ear off the entire way through Shibuya.
All in all, this had been a pretty good night.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Honestly, at first Iwai had been annoyed by that skinny little nobody coming through and taking up his time with weird requests for things kids should never have been interested in. But he never heard of the kid doing anything illegal with what he bought. At least, nothing he got caught doing.
Iwai also knew, now, that the things Amamiya Ren bought from him were being used to a standard even he couldn’t complain about.
Kaoru would be jazzed to know about that.
Iwai finished up his work and went home. It was a simple night at home with Kaoru, something he didn’t get to enjoy as much as he should. But he was going to make more of an effort. He thought about seeing if maybe he couldn’t get Ren to hang out with Kaoru a little, take him to the batting cages or SOMETHING. They were only a couple years apart and Ren was a good kid; more importantly, he was a kid with a spine and a sense of justice. Kaoru was doing just fine, but maybe spending some time with a kid a few years older, who really seemed to have a handle on himself, would be good. He’d make a point to bring it up the next time Ren came by.
When a week later, he hadn’t seen the kid, he didn’t think about it. Sometimes he wouldn’t show up for weeks on end. What was Iwai gonna do about it? A kid was a kid.
A week and a half, and nothing. Iwai didn’t even pass by him on Central Street, which he had done before. Normally, he wouldn’t worry; it wasn’t any business of his what Ren got up to.
But something was gnawing at him. He tried to ignore it, and was doing a pretty steady job.
Half a week later - two in total since the last time he had seen Ren, if one was counting, which he certainly wasn’t - Iwai was doing some light dusting just to keep his mind off of things. Their shit country. That Shido guy everyone seemed to be all up in arms about (which he didn’t understand, the guy looked like a tool who collected toy skulls and made stupid sexist videos on the Internet). Kaoru was suffering in English, which Iwai was no good in either. Maybe, a little bit, he was worried about Ren.
He turned his back on the door and knelt to get something out of sight. Of course, the moment he did that, he heard the door open; always happened that way, didn’t it? “Just a minute.”
“Dad!?”
Kaoru’s concerned voice jolted him, and Iwai stood straight up. His son was still in his uniform, with his school bag, like everything was normal.
But he was also supporting Ren, who looked tired, almost gaunt, with faded, yellowing bruises under vibrantly coloured new ones running up and down his bare arms, and on his neck. Then Ren looked up and met his gaze; the blackened, swollen state of his eye was magnified through those gigantic glasses.
“How in the hell is THIS flyin’ under the radar?” Iwai grumbled, internally panicked that his old family had come after them after all.
“Well,” Ren said dryly, “I didn’t start the fight, if that helps.”
“Shut up.”
Iwai and Kaoru helped Ren get to the back room, where he all but collapsed onto the closest surface. Immediately, Iwai dragged Kaoru back out into the store. “Tell me what happened.”
Kaoru watched him go over and lock the door before clearing his throat. “I just went to the diner and he was there with like four empty coffee mugs in front of him, covered in bruises just like now. Except I only saw his face, his sleeves were rolled down.”
That was why Ren had looked especially odd to him - usually the kid was wearing a jacket, whether is was his uniform or something else. Iwai shook his head and lit a cigarette despite the look Kaoru gave him, the look that said You told me you were gonna quit months ago. “He say anything to you?”
“About what happened to him? No, I just asked if he needed help, he said no. I told him too bad and that if he didn’t come with me I was just going to call you anyways.”
“Good kid,” Iwai said. He was proud of his son for doing the right thing. “Listen, I got it from here - why don’t you get back to the diner and get started on your homework?”
Kaoru didn’t seem to like it, but listened - especially when he was given Iwai’s wallet. Iwai let him out of the store, then pulled down the grate before locking the door again. He didn’t necessarily want to send Kaoru out there again, if this kid had been hurt because of some ancient BS, but thought it might be easier to get Ren to talk if Kaoru was out of the way. He’d make it to the diner just fine; Iwai hadn’t raised an idiot, after all.
His more pressing concern was finding out what, exactly, had happened to Ren.
He got a bottle of water from under the desk, and a first aid kit, then moved into the back room. Ren was sitting exactly where they had left him, but with his eyes closed and head now leaned back against the wall. He was holding onto his phone, but it was dark. Iwai announced his presence with a sigh. Ren cracked open the eye with the least amount of damage. “Where’s Kaoru?”
“What happened to you?”
“That’s how you answer a question?” Ren asked, with that edge that Iwai liked, that reminded him of himself. “I just...got in something I shouldn’t have.”
Iwai took a drag from his cigarette and looked Ren up and down. He looked much smaller without that jacket. Maybe Iwai had been mistaken in thinking he was old for his age; this kid was hardly more than an ankle-biter. “No shit. But what?”
“It wasn’t anything like what you got into, if that’s what you’re worried about. I just got my ass handed to me last week, then again this week.”
They had what felt to Iwai like a battle of wills. With the kid so beat up, Iwai knew he was destined to throw the match and did so spectacularly, with a hefty sigh and a rolling of the eyes so hard that he thought he saw the top of his own skull. “Fine. Have your secrets.”
He leaned over to reach into a mini-fridge and pulled out a cold pack from the small tray that served as a freezer. “Put this on over your eye,” he said, pushing it into Ren’s hands. He didn’t take his eyes off of the kid until the gel pack was over the worst of the bruising. Then Iwai flipped open the first aid kit. After everything he had been through, he made sure to keep the thing pretty well stocked; not that there was much he could do for bruising. He found a cream for it, and tossed that to Ren as well.
“...I think I’m bleeding, too,” Akira said, and for the first time, Iwai thought he heard a hint of weakness in that voice.
He didn’t show that, however, and just nodded as he grabbed a package of gauze and medical tape, as well as bandaids, from the first aid kit. Iwai hoped this wasn’t bad enough that Ren would have to go to the hospital, because he would be a real hypocrite to his own ways if he dragged the kid there for this. He took a stack of napkins from some take-out meal or another and doused it in water from the bottle. “Lemme see.”
Ren hesitated, one hand playing with his dirty collar. Iwai just gave him a stern look. “Remember who I am, kid - I’ve patched up worse wounds than whatever you’ve gotten yourself into.”
With a sigh, Ren stood and turned around. Iwai swore under his breath; there was a gash in his shirt, and blood trickling through to stain the white, red. Ren slowly unbuttoned his shirt but instead of dropping it, just pulled it up to rest underneath his armpits. Iwai didn’t question it, just looked over the cut that stretched, thin but not too long, over the left side of his lower back; it was clearly a switchblade. He’d know the cut anywhere.
“Not too bad,” he said. “Surface wound, won’t need stitches.”
“I can clean it up,” Ren said, and Iwai was going to fight him on it before realizing that there were any number of reasons this kid wouldn’t want to be touched after a scrape like whatever he had gotten into. So he just gave the napkins to Ren and gave him verbal cues to wipe the cut clean. It took a little folding and maneuvering, but Ren eventually got the gauze positioned and relented, letting Iwai tape it down.
He let Ren do the bruises, too, and turned around to look through the first aid kit again, half to look for any ibuprofen and half to give Ren some semblance of privacy. There was a bottle in there, and the expiration date was still a year away. Perfect. Only when Ren said he was done did Iwai turn back to him, bottle in hand. Ren had his shirt pulled back down now, and was holding the cold pack to his neck. “...thanks.”
“Sure thing. I was an idiot kid getting into fights once, too.”
“It wasn’t a fight,” Ren said, and this time he sounded very serious. His eyes were hard, and Iwai held up a hand, palm upward, a man asking for more of an answer than that. “It wasn’t. I was jumped last week, and when I didn’t have enough cash on me, they beat me and said they’d be back.”
Anger bubbled up in Iwai’s gut; who the hell would do that to a kid? At least it didn’t sound like anything Iwai’s past had dragged them into. “And then?”
“Well I saw them all around. Think they knew where I lived. Saw them in my neighborhood. Outside of school even.” He shrugged. “Got cocky, figured they’d forget about me, or I could...persuade them otherwise.”
Iwai had wondered about that part; this kid was a Phantom Thief, after all. How’d this happen to someone like him?
“But things got away from me, and I couldn’t. They caught up to me, and...well. Here we are.. I didn’t have what they wanted, they got me, pulled a knife. Barely got out of there.”
Ren was trying to keep his cool, but Iwai could see the way his hands were shaking. Just a little. With a sigh, Iwai leaned against the table, arms folded over his chest. “You know who they were?”
“Just some low-level wannabe gang, I think. If I knew their names, I could…” Ren shook his head, then drained the rest of the water left in that bottle despite its tepid temperature. “But I don’t, so I need to figure out what to do next.”
“What you need to do is sit there and let me think,” Iwai said. He knew how to deal with up-shots who wanted more than they were worth. Because this wasn’t going to go down this way; these assholes weren’t going to harass this kid any longer. Iwai’s fingers just barely brushed the tattoo on his neck.  “You wanna end this once and for all?”
Ren looked at him, then said ‘no,’ quietly. Then again. “No, you don’t have to get involved.”
“Kid,” Iwai said, leaning forward and looking him in the eye. “It’s too late for that
“I’m in.”
Ren let Iwai take him home that night, accepting a ride in the back of a surprisingly clean and sporty car with Kaoru. No one was in Leblanc, and he heard Boss in the back. Moving he quickly, he called out that he was back and darted upstairs. Morgana, asleep under the bed with just his tail poking out, didn’t stir. Good thing Futaba had him today and worn him out; she had really taken a shine to that cat.
When he sat on the bed he did so quietly, not wanting to wake Morgana. He unbuttoned his shirt and looked down over his bruised stomach. The worst of it, however, something Iwai was never going to see, was under his binder. Usually he slept with it on, but with this bruising...Ryuji would kick his ass worse than this if he knew Ren was pushing himself with that thing. Of all the people who knew - which was only about five people, in the whole world - who knew that he was trans, Ryuji took it the most seriously. He had done all of the reading, searched online, learned everything he could. For Ren.
So it was with Ryuji in mind that Ren struggled out of his binder and abandoned it on the bed. It should be washed, but he couldn’t even think about that until he was covered. His chest was covered in bruises, and once it was no longer compressed the pain blossomed outward from there. First, Ren took a shaky breath and palmed the cream Iwai had given him. Yes, he should put this on, but...well, unless he was putting the binder on, Ren didn’t let his hands near his chest. It was too much for him. Later, maybe. He pulled out his pajama shirt and yanked it on, then his grey hoodie over that. What could he say? He was feeling vulnerable. Ren climbed under the covers and pulled his phone close to him. The minute he touched it, the device buzzed. A text from Iwai.
‘Keep an eye out kid. Come by the shop if you see those dicks.’
Ren would have chuckled at the wording alone - exactly how Iwai spoke - but if he was honest with himself, he didn’t feel much like laughing.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Two nights later, Ren was feeling shaky after a shift at the Beef Bowl Shop. All night long, he had spotted the men who were after him for something as trivial as money. Ren had money, he didn’t have to worry about that. This was the principal of the thing. He thought that, if he could get them talking he find out at least one name, he could take them down where he was stronger - Mementos. Then they wouldn’t be bothering anyone else, either.
Honestly, he wouldn’t have been worried if it was just one of them that he had spotted. One guy, he thought he could handle.
But there had been three separate guys out there through the course of the night, including the one who had cut him. Now, Ren did not consider himself a coward in any sense of the word. But this?
Well. It made him uneasy enough to send a text to Iwai. It was simple, just ‘3 @ the Beef Bowl Shop,’ because he didn’t know how else to ask for assistance other than simply telling him the facts. This would be different, he told himself, if so many people were not relying on him.
His boss had dismissed him 10 minutes before he sent the text. Only 5 minutes after he sent it did he hear a knock to the employee part of the building. One of his co-workers stuck her head in. “Uhm, Amamiya? A guy who says he’s your uncle is here?”
Then he really could have laughed. The man even came up with an excuse. He thanked his co-worker and went out to the main dining room. Sure enough, Iwai was there, leaning against the window and looking bored while a few of the customers looked on, worried.
“Thank for coming to get me, Uncle Munehisa,” he teased, his voice light despite the reason Iwai had come.
“Shut your mouth, kid,” Iwai said, but Ren saw the chuckle playing at the corners of his mouth. “Let’s get out of here.”
The moment they were outside, Iwai looked both ways down the street. “When was the last time you saw one of them?”
Ren started to move across the street, towards the alley that led to Untouchable, keeping an eye out as well. None of them seemed to be in the immediate area; maybe he had been hasty. But he did feel a little more secure with Iwai at his side. “Last two passed by maybe ten minutes ago.”
“We’ll just get to Untouchable and work from there, alright?”
“Alright.”
It was simple, really. Just get into the store and leave from there. Ren followed Iwai across the street and down the alley. He glanced at the Velvet Room; Justine did not meet his gaze. At least if things ever got too crazy, he could jump in there. Not ideal, but doable. Iwai pulled out his keys and opened the door to Untouchable. He held it open. “Get in.”
Ren moved past him, and the impending sense of danger did not come quickly enough.
A sharp pain in his back, over where he had been cut before, and he was sent reeling forward into the store. His vision swam as his head bounced with the impact of his knees on the floor. But Iwai’s grunt of pain hurt way more than that. He hoped that Iwai would stay away as Ren pushed through the pain and turned around. There were two guys on Iwai, who looked calm and collected as he slammed his fist into a jaw. Ren would have chuckled if the guy who had pushed him did not drop to the floor and push him back, to the ground, with his arm on Akira’s neck.
He had just been too distracted with Iwai to move quickly enough. With all of his might, Ren pushed against the man holding him down; the silky shirt, leopard print, slid around under his grasp. That STUPID shirt - Akira knew it well.
This was the man with the knife. Ren knew that before he even brought it out. “You think your ex-yakuza sugar daddy can save you? Too late for that - we got you.”
Ren thought about all of the bruises on him. He thought about how a group like this would never involve the police, so he shouldn’t be at any risk if he retaliated. He thought about his friends, waiting for him to lead them. And he thought about how Iwai was over there, fighting for him.
It became absolutely effortless to take his fist and drive it into that stupid leopard-spotted stomach. Ren was able to get the man off of him, but his main goal was to get the knife out of reach. Never mind that he was in a store full of replica weapons, many with blades triple the size of the knife - THAT was the one that had dug into his back, and the owner seemed pretty fond of it.
He yanked himself up using the counter, while the guy was still on the ground, and Ren made a quick decision to drive his shoe into his head. Not enough to seriously hurt him, just keep him down. Ren was still feeling winded from being knocked to the ground, and wished more than anything that he had the same skills in the real world as he did in the Metaverse - there, he could get knocked down a hundred times and get back a hundred and one. Here, he was just tired, his gun a model in his pocket, and Arsene felt a world away. But Ren was still strong, and after his arrest had a better hold on his rash behaviour. He no longer acted so quickly under stress, thought his actions out more.
Today, that action was to lower himself back to the ground and grab the man’s wrist. Ren twisted his wrist around until he had no choice but to drop the knife, then snatched it away. His instinct was to toss it across the store, but that was stupid. So he folded the thing and stored it in his pocket before jumping over leopard print, who was still moaning on the ground, and joining Iwai.
Who was doing very well. One of the guys was on the ground just outside of the shop, looking dazed, and Iwai was wrestling the other one to the ground.
“It make you a big man, huh? Threatenin’ kids?” Iwai growled, and Ren didn’t think he knew he was being watched. “Trash like you makes me sick.”
Then he moved his hands in a quick, expert way that Ren did not think he could ever duplicate, and the other guy dropped, too. He was still alive, coughing once he hit the ground, but looked down for the count. Ren moved over to the door, glancing behind him; leopard print was still down, too.
“Thanks,” he said, watching Iwai heave. It must have been some effort for him, and there was a pang in Ren’s heart for his own father, who would have thrown him to the wolves rather than fight for him. But then Iwai was on him, holding his face in those rough hands.
He turned Ren’s head gently every which way, then looked over the rest of his body. “They get you?”
“Not really,” he said. “I got pushed down and he came at me, but I’m alright.”
Iwai sighed and looked at the men on the ground outside. “Let’s get the other one out here and leave ‘em. They’ll wake up dazed but they should be fine.”
Ren nodded, even though at this point he didn’t care if they were fine or not. He helped Iwai move one out of the doorway, closer the first guy Iwai had taken down. That one was sporting a huge bruise to his temple. “What did you do to that guy?”
“...taught him a lesson,” Iwai said. He rolled one shoulder as they straightened up. “Listen kid, I’m gonna make sure punks like these don’t bother you again, you hear -”
A silencer on a gun does not silence it. A normal silencer takes the sound of a gunshot down  14.3-43 decibels, meaning that any shot is plenty audible. Of course, once a gun is shot, even if it is heard, there is hardly any time for a potential victim to move. That is not, usually, the main purpose of a silencer. A silencer is stop a sound from spreading, not to stop a potential victim from hearing it.
So when the man in the leopard print shirt, now on his feet, aimed his silenced gun at Ren and shot, both Ren and Iwai heard the blast. Already in the act of turning, Ren knew that the bullet was meant for him. He knew that it had left the barrel. And he knew that he could not drop to the ground or avoid it.
All of these realizations came to him in a nanosecond. One second, there was a bang; the next second there was pain shooting through his arm and he was on the ground. His ears were ringing, his arm was hot and wet.
And then, there was nothing but Iwai.
When he heard that gunshot, a million things ran through Iwai’s head. He was not going to let Kaoru be left behind again. He was not going to let everything he worked for fall to pieces. He was not going to let this punk end things for him. He was not going to let them hurt Ren ever again.
Then the kid dropped to the ground and Iwai’s world spun out of control. He wasted absolutely no time. The man in that idiot shirt aimed at him, but Iwai was quicker. Dropping low, Iwai closed the distance between them in four long steps, coat flapping out behind him. One second he was outside, across the alley; the next second he was under the guy, in front of him, and Iwai’s already bloody fist, knuckles threatening to bust open, sent his head snapping back in a powerful uppercut. The young guy went down, and he dropped the gun. Pathetic; he really was just the worst kind of guy. Before anything else, Iwai picked up the gun.
The butt of the handle against a thick cranium made sure this asshole wouldn’t be standing again for quite some time.
He dropped the gun into one of his pockets and flexed out his fingers as he stood and turned. Had it really ended so quickly? It seemed ridiculous. But that didn’t truly matter at the moment. What mattered was getting to Ren.
Thankfully, when Iwai got to the kid he was sitting up, leaning against the wall, clutching at his bloody arm. He was pale, though, rocking back and forth a little. Iwai knelt at his side and tilted his face up, bloody hand leaving a mark on Ren’s chin. His eyes were wide and the pupils were dilated, but his face was calm. His nostrils flared as he struggled to breath, though.
Luckily, Iwai was always calm under pressure. “Come on, if you’re gonna have a panic attack you’re not gonna do it out here. But before I can move you, you gotta tell me - did he get your arm?”
Ren nodded; at least he still seemed to possess enough of his senses to nod. He pulled his hand away, palm bloody, and Iwai was able to get a good look at his arm. It was an instant relief to see through the torn shirt that the bullet had not gone through him, only grazed him. The wound wasn’t deep at all, just kissing his flesh enough to bleed heavily. But Iwai was well-trained - he could tell at a glance that the bullet was long gone and had not gotten close to any arteries. “Good,” he muttered. “That’s good.”
“It’s...good I got shot?” Ren asked, and Iwai couldn’t even begin to fathom what sort of thoughts and feelings were behind the laugh that leaked from his lips.
Not what Iwai had meant, though. He gave Ren a look as he tore the rest of the sleeve away and tied it around the wound. Just temporary. “Well, it DOES mean you scared this guy enough or took a big enough gouge out of his pride that he thought he had to use a gun to get you down.”
That, of all things, made Ren smile. Cocky kid.
Iwai hid their attackers behind the old worn-out bikes in front of his shop. Once the store was cleared out and Iwai made sure that no one was coming to check out that sound of that shot, he brought Ren inside and made him sit behind the register. The kid was still a little shaky and Iwai was pretty sure that once he had time to process what just happened, he would probably be a mess. For the second time in a week, he got out the first aid kit. “Before you came along I used this thing maybe once a year. Gonna charge you for a new one if you start using up all my supplies.”
“Sorry,” Ren said, fingers prodding near the wound. “Next time I’ll get shot somewhere else.”
“Good thinking. Alright, let me see it.”
He untied the sleeve and let it drop the to the ground. The bleeding had staunched a little, which was good. But still…” You want me to take you to a hospital?”
“No,” Ren, said, suddenly on edge. “No, no...too many questions at a hospital.”
The similarity to something Iwai himself had said to a friend, a long time ago - a lifetime ago - was almost enough to knock the wind from his lungs. He turned the sound into a laugh. “How many secrets can a kid your age have?”
“One for every year, it feels like.” Ren let him clean the wound and blood around it the best he could. “If we go to a hospital, they’ll know a bullet wound, they’ll call the cops, and if the cops find out I was near real weapons...let’s just say, probation turns to jail time real quick.”
Iwai’s eyebrows shot up so quickly that they nearly disappeared under his hat. “You? Holy shit, Ren. You’re a wild ride.”
Iwai worked steadily to do what he could for the wound. The responsible adult in him screamed ‘Take the kid to a hospital!' The wild part of him, from long ago, told him that this kid was going places. But it was the yakuza part of him that took over, the part that said you never rat out a brother, you help him on his terms, you don’t break his trust. He got Ren’s arm as clean as he could, then doused the wound in something green and anti-septic. Ren hissed at that and tensed, but otherwise took it well. The wound, once it was clean, was in even better shape than he thought before. No stitches, just a jagged cut that might mean a scar later. But Iwai saw thick scars on the Ren’s arms and wrists already, and had a feeling that adding one more wasn’t going to be the end of his world.
He took care to wrap the wound gently enough to avoid pain, but tightly enough that the last of the gauze-like bandages from his kit would be able to do their job. Iwai sealed the end with an X of white medical tape then looked into his eyes. “You’re gonna be fine, kid.”
“Yeah, Akira said. “Fine.”
But Iwai saw that look in his eyes. There was a storm brewing inside that kid, and Iwai was going to keep him there until it was over. Iwai left out the back way of the store and got them dinner, called Kaoru and sent dinner home to him as well. Maybe the time alone would jump-start the freak out this kid was bound to have. It didn’t matter how tough you were, or whatever other shit you had been through in your life.
No one reacts well the first time they get shot. Iwai himself had thrown up and slept for 24 hours.
He sat with Ren as they ate, pretty quiet, meals the same shade of blue-grey in the dim lights on the shop. At first, he thought Ren was eating with his right arm at his side because of the pain. But when Iwai moved around to grab some napkins, he could see that Ren was holding something clenched in his hand.
“What ya got there?”
Ren looked down, not even seeming to realize that he was holding something. “Oh.” He gingerly put it on the counter. A folding knife. “Leopard print had it. He cut me with it last time, too.”
Iwai shook his head, and was about to respond when Ren’s hand formed a fist on the counter. “He could have killed me.”
There was no answer for that.
“He could have killed me over something as stupid as money. He could have come after you, or Kaoru, or any of my friends, for money.” Ren dropped his gaze to look at his knees. “Holy shit, I was stupid to think it would go away on it’s own. I’m usually not that fu-”
“Don’t start that,” Iwai said. “If you’re gonna freak out, if you’re gonna throw up, if you’re gonna cry, fine. But don’t start holding all that responsibility for other people’s shitty choices on your shoulders. If you start doing that, you never stop.”
He thought of Tsuda and took a breath. “So what’s it gonna be?”
Ren looked at him, then leaned back in his chair and put his hand over his eyes. “This is so stupid. I use all sorts of weapons every day as a Phantom g-goddamn Thief, and one gunshot wound gets me like this?”
His voice was thick with tears, and Iwai was honestly relieved. Better to let out whatever bullshit was going on inside then hold onto it until it destroyed him. He sat by and let Ren cry, let him hide behind his hand. That was all that there was left for Iwai to do, anyways.
But when Ren leaned forward and put his head between his knees, Iwai knew that some dam had burst and everything his kid - Phantom Thief, under probation - was holding on to was ready to come out. He didn’t want to disturb him, didn’t want Ren to think that he had to contain himself, but Iwai couldn’t let this kid suffer alone.
“Hey,” he said, sliding out of his seat. When Ren looked up, Iwai took his protective earmuffs off and slid the hat off. He placed the hat on Ren’s head, brim pulled down low over his eyes. The earmuffs, he readjusted a little bit and clamped over Ren’s ears. They blocked out all sounds and would leave Ren with some semblance of privacy.
Iwai stepped back, but suddenly a hand was holding his jacket. Ren was looking down now, but he had the hem of Iwai’s jacket in a vice grip. He pushed himself forward and the wheeled chair propelled him just a couple inches. Iwai was wary, but let the kid throw his arms around him. Iwai didn’t think he had been this close to anyone in a long time, but he wasn’t about to push him away. Ren buried his face in Iwai’s stomach, arms tight around his middle. He was crying in a way Iwai hadn’t in years, but he remembered the feeling. Helpless. Hopeless. Vulnerable.
The shittiest feeling in the world. Iwai put his hand on the back of Ren’s head and let him cry it out. Tomorrow, when it was light out, when this all seemed grey and distant, when Ren was safe in school or at home...Iwai was going to make sure that he didn’t have to worry about those thugs ever again. He hated guys like that, who had huge egos and lost it when they popped, who took on only people they thought they could beat, who took advantage of people. They deserved to be knocked down a peg, and Iwai would make sure it happened.
He still had connections, after all.

my breast reduction experience
i'm back home from the hospital after my reduction and i'd like to share my experience for those interestedalso to vent a bit about my nice-but-also-hella-annoying bed neighbour.
i went in on thursday morning, to get prepped, see the doc and settle into my room i was given the choice to either stay overnight before the surgery, or come in at 7 on friday morningi chose to stay overnight, since i knew it'd be much easier if i could just stay in bed until they wheeled me in for surgery. rather than having to haul my stuff and myself to the hospital with the bus, high on adrenaline and panicwas the right decision, too early in the morning, a nurse woke me and i went to change into the very sexy piece of fishnet they use as panties and the butt-free gown thingi swear, those mesh panties are the worst.but, i got a dose of lorazepam to make up for it, and was wheeled downstairs and into the wake-up room, from which i was wheeled in for the anaesthesia prep.a very nice lady (i don't know if she was an anaesthesiologist or assistant or nurse....) helped me put on the hair net and put an IV into my hand, chatting a little with me, which helped with the anxiety. at this point i was glad for the lorazepam, because i was nervous as fuck, even with it. they didn't make me count or anything, just told me to breathe in all that nice oxygen, and then they told me when they inected the good stuff and - like with the two general anaesthesias i had before - i went under complaining about the pain XDit's like, the last two seconds before you go under, your face, or in one case, arms, get really bad pins-and-needles, and it's one of the grossest feelings ever, but it's literally just a second or two and then you're out. the first thing i remember after coming to, is people coming to my bed and telling me to take breaths, or to breathe in deeper.i had a little trouble with my oxygen levels for a while, but they put an oxygen tube thingie into my nose, with a piece of sponge around it to keep it in place, i also remember telling someone i was feeling nauseous, and i think they gave me some medication for that. i was in no pain at all, just super woozy and confused why it was already around 3 in the afternoon. surgery must've taken WAY longer than 2-4 hours, since they put me under at 7:30, and i came to enough to ask the time at 3 in the afternoon.back in my room i asked for my phone and sent a few typo-heavy drunk texts to my mom and my girlfriend to let them know i was still alivestill no pain, dizziness, overall "just trying to sleep"-iness. a nurse came in some time later, to help me get up and pee. i didn't think i needed to, but she told me they put five liters of whatever (saline, probably) into me during the surgery and after, and i do know that getting up is important after surgeryso, she hooks me under and butt-naked me (surgical bra and mesh panties only. sexy. comfortable. not basically literally ass-naked) shuffles over to the bathroom, nurse carrying the big drainage bottles.i could feel my ears rushing and hearing static the moment i stood, but i managed to sit down and do the deed. on the way back to the bed, i nearly passed out, but nurse and another nurse got me back safely and i could sleep some moreduring the night, i am woken up a few times, by a male nurse who comes to open my bra and check the bandages and palpate my new tiny tiddies for anything bad.it's a bit disorienting to be subjected to someone messing with your boobs when you're more asleep than anything, but the whole staff was super nice and gentle with me, on saturday, post-op day 1, i managed to somehow pull at my right-side drainage and the bitch gave me trouble for the entirety of its stay in my boob, and it's still the more sensitive side >_>my new boobs looked soooo teeny tiny! to be honest, while i was excited, i was also a little scared that they'd become too small, but that feeling came and went, and looking back, i know it was simply the shock of the /difference/. day one was mostly spent entirely in bed, since my circulation was still pretty bad, and getting up gave me big troublesluckily, the nurses all were very very nice and refilled my water bottle for me and helped me get to the bathroom and back, and iirc, in the afternoon, i managed to put on some real panties and a shirt. MUCH better!also, on saturday, my girlfriend came to visit and it was really nice <3as for pain, i wasn't in any mentionable pain, other than that bitch of a drainage tube. that shit hurt like hell, while my boobs themselves almost didn't hurt at alli was, and still am, quite surprised they weren't painful. (given, i was taking ibuprofen 600 3x a day) sore, of course, and tender, and feeling about ready to pop with how taut they were, but not painful, i didn't and don't feel the incisions or the sutures/stitchesi stopped taking any pain meds yesterday, which was post-op day 5, and i only needed one ibu on tuesday) sleeping on my back is lame. and waking up on sunday, i had a major headache, that even the ibuprofen didn't manage to helpi think it was a mix of my neck being overly tense, plus leftover surgery and anesthesia meds that messed with my head (i read that having migraines puts you at a higher risk of post-op headaches) sunday was the day where i started to get lots better. i could get up on my own for the bathroom, and even the little trip down the hall to the water fountain dispenser thingie, and in the afternoon/early evening, i even managed to take the elevator to the ground floor and grab some well-earned sweets from the little shop there. the headache was the biggest discomfort, other than the drainage tube pulling occasionally, and my petty room mate... boy... by that point she was getting SO annoying. she had had surgery the day before me, a procedure to put an expander under the skin of her face, to grow skin to remove a mark from her face (i don't know what it's called, in german, it's a fire's mark, basically a large, deep red/purple mark that's puffy and you're usually born with it)i think she's russian? she had a heavy accent, and the first pieces of conversations i remember clearly were of her complaining about refugees and how they have so many kids only to cash in on social child support money (which is a thing in germany, but, well, for citizens, not for refugees...) i tried half-heartedly explaining that refugees aren't here for shits and giggles, and no, they don't get child support money from the state. they get, if at all, a bare minimum to feed and clothe themselves.... i didn't want to antagonize her, because in my drugged-up, post-surgery state, i was having paranoia she would try suffocating me in my sleep. (which i was aware of was purely my anxiety talking, but, y'know, i didn't want to pick fights either way, and delicate topics are best discussed if you have the opportunity to leave.)next thing i very clearly remember her doing was antagonizing the nurse that wanted to put a new something into her iv. the thing was, the nurse sneezed. into her shoulder. before moving to continue with the tubes. roomie gives her shit about that. how it's unacceptable that she'd sneeze onto the needle and get her germs all over the place, and how that's unprofessional and why she wasn't getting new needles and all that the nurse calmly explained she wasn't sick, it was just a little sneeze and she didn't get anything onto the stuff. discussions ensue. nurse sents me an "is this really happening?!" look, and i just give a helpless grin-shrug, because, yeah, it was happening. nurse was clearly heavily annoyed, but managed to finish putting the iv thing into her before leaving a little louder than necessary.i can understand voicing your concerns about hygiene and your worries. that's good. not good is picking fights with the people taking care of you. like... i caught myself thinking, every single time lady next to me went to complain or whine about something (which she did... /quite/ a lot) that, if i am in a hospital, dependent on the care of the staff, that the LAST thing i want to do is being a bitch to them?i'll do my damndest to be polite at least, friendly whenever i can, so they know i appreciate the help. being nice to your nurse means your nurse will do their best to care for you, and maybe put in a little more effort than absolutely necessary (like offering to fill my water bottle for me) and if someone has to sit me onto the toilet becauce i can't pee by myself, the least they deserve is me not bitching. seriously, the lady was nice enough, overall, but man... she also was entitled and just that special little snowflake kind of person. complaining about her boyfriend not taking the day off work so he'd be available all day to pick her up whenever she was discharged... i understand the thought behind it, but i also understand you can't just leave work just like that. and she was better off than me, mobility-wise, she could've taken a taxi or even public transport (given, i wouldn't have, either) or just waited for him until he could leave work)aaaaaanyway, on monday, headache was getting better, and my surgeon came in to check up on his work, he finally told me how much he removed, and it was WAY more than i expected or he estimated before,he'd told me, he'd remove about a kilo of tissue per side, which seemed a good weight, (i'd weighted them before, and they were about 2 kilos each, according to my kitchen scale XD )and it ended up being 1,4 kilos per side... that's almost 3 kilos! that's, like, two whole chickens! i was pretty shocked, but also excited, because, for the first time i really understood how HUGE my boobs had been. and how reasonable and right my decision was. i have no regrets and even in between never had any, but i had my doubts about the necessity of this whole thing, a lot of the time, i felt like it was a mood, or a phase, something i wanted out of a whim, rather than that i really needed it. it was my idea, and i wanted it, and as such, as a non-essential surgery, i was scared that i was doing something wrong. that it'd end up turning out bad, simply because of my paranoia-driven fear of karmic punishment for wanting something like that without it being unavoidable (like my gallbladder surgery) but hearing how much he'd removed, and given how much is still left, and how i now have an average pair of breasts for a woman of my stature, it took some guilt off me. also, by monday, i was starting to feel the first effects of the weightloss. i could sit up without using my arms (which was still being a bitch, because it'd pull on the damn drainage), like doing a situp, and it was sooo easy!even right now, i'm still too overall sore/tender to really notice a direct difference, but indirectly, it's already so amazing! i'm sitting up straighter without even noticing, i can breathe freely, which is odd, but i keep noticing how free my chest feels, like i'm expecting it to feel tight or heavy, but it isn't,on monday, the drainage tubes were FINALLY removed and it was glorious!i could stay until tuesday, and it was good i got to stay another day, because walking around was, and is, still somewhat tedious.on wednesday, i had a bit of an emotional crash. i guess it's the physical shock of surgery/injury and the medication wearing off, coupled with the relief of being at home and knowing you can relax now, i was dissociating a little, on and off through the day, feeling weepy and alone and all thatbuuuut that went away, too, and today, post-op day 6, i'm still a little tender and weak, but overall, i'm doing pretty fine!i can wash myself on my own, even my hair, and i am in SO much less pain than i expected. like... i was preparing to be out of commission completely for the entirety of the three weeks vacation i took off of work, but if things continue like this, going back in two and a half weeks will be absolutely possible. i catch myself being a little too enthusiastic sometimes, like trying to reach up to open/close my skylight window and getting a little reminder NOT to stretch up my arms all the way. or having to take a break from walking up the stairs and having to sit a couple minutes in the house's staircase on the way up to my appartment (we don't have an elevator)the most uncomfortable thing right now is the itching. the medical bra rubs against the edge of the steri-strips, where my skin is taut and dry and it's leaving mild imprints and it ITCHES and it's driving me insane, but it doesn't hurt, and it doesn't seem to mess with the stitches, so i'm trying not to complain too hard. all things considered, and with how weak and sore i was, right now, as i'm typing this, i'd do it all over again. i don't want to jinx anything, so i won't jubilate, but overall, i'm pleasantly surprised by how well things have been so far. i like my tiny new boobs, and i hate the itching, i love how much longer my torso looks, and i'm looking forward so much to buying beautiful bras and all the pretty swimwear i couldn't before, because it would never fit my boobs....aah <3next week i'll go in to have my stitches removed (they're not the dissolving kind) and i'm a little worried how the scars will hold, but i'm also eager to start using lotions and all the good stuff to help the skin recover i will recommend this procedure to anyone that's considering it, and i'm so happy that the surgery went well and my new boobs look perfect! (if still a little crinkly around the scars XD )

JustEight Day One - Dear Horde
This is an original piece written for the #JustEight prompts that I posted a few days ago. Pure Draft 0/spontaneous writing here... apologies if it’s ridiculous and/or terrible, I’m tired and the weather radio is driving me insane.
Dear Horde,
Look, let's get down to bone tacks, shall we? I hate you. You hate me. But the moon hangs low in the north and the herds of fennybuza have come from the mountains to feed, so it's inevitable. In the next few weeks, the first so-called adventurers from the cities of man will descend upon our valley. As the forty-ninth chief of the Warsorrow line, it has fallen to me yet again to try and defend our lands against the invaders.
First things first, can you slagfraggers stop carrying so much gold onto the battlefield? I don't have time to go through a whole economics lecture for you, but there is one important concept we all must grasp. If we carry gold onto the Plain of Glory, and the humans slay a good number of us (which they probably will, as they have for generations), that gold can be turned into better weapons, stronger armor and curative items. We are quite literally stabbing ourselves in the foot!
Second, let's turn to tactics. Let it be clear, I am not a strategic genius. The Warsorrow Clan inherited the leadership role because of large fists, a proficiency with blunt objects and hygiene practices that might be called cursory at best. However, this blazfarn practice of patiently attacking the adventurers in small groups has to stop. Either we swarm all at once and overwhelm them, or we hold defensible positions. Everything we've been doing clearly hasn't been working.
Okay, I'm tired of being polite. Why in the name of Great Kriwukeg are we jobbing out to the humans every single spring?? It's not like there's a ton of mystery to the way the humans show up. Let's break down their usual forces, shall we?
Sword Guy. Sometimes he's wearing full armor, sometimes he's inexplicably just wearing a loincloth yet his skin is darn near flawless. Sometimes come in Praying Variety, which means they're exceedingly holy when they run us through.
Magic Man. These break down into Helpy and Hurty varieties. Both are annoying. They're usually wearing thin robes that somehow take multiple hits from swords, arrows and even fire. You can often tell them apart, as the Helpy ones usually wear white and object to the whole affair before helping to kill us anyway. The Hurty ones dress in darker colors, wear long beards they're always stroking inscrutably. Sometimes they have weird glossy skullcaps that I do not understand the physics of.
Arrows. Distance attackers who are way better shots than any member of the horde. Most of the time they're going on about communing with nature and feeling the voice of the forest. Usually high as blazfarn, Bows are always surprisingly effective, usually at the most dramatic possible moment.
Sneaky One. Because when you're invading a hostile environment, you need a guy who can pick pockets and sneak around like nobody's business. He's either standoffish and laconic or a quip machine that everyone else wants to chuck in a lava pit. Still usually manages to get in a dramatic strike when all seems lost.
Musicy Type. Whatever you do, when you see a human with a harp, do not take him out. He's probably annoying the adventurers. If you kill him, they will get stronger.
Your first takeaway should be: When an adventurer slams his impossibly large shield to the ground... ignore him and focus all attacks on the members of the party wearing white. There's no point hacking away at the sword people when some cheater in a white robe is undoing all your hard work.
Also, how is it that every year like a thousand horde troops fall to at MOST a half dozen humans? Please explain this to me, since my father is no longer alive to do so. How do they overcome such incredible odds every time? Why? WHY? With enough of our clan swinging a heavy club, we should be winning through pure dumb luck.
Finally, the following individuals are hereby assigned the role of protecting the latrines due to their performance during basic training.
Kigrok Strongscream
Wimivur the Whelming
Glaarub Hangnail
Tregurk Mammothbrow
Aogut Mousefist
Xoilet the Marginally Adequete
In closing, I'd like to remind all of you that I loathe your very existence, and despite the inevitable humiliating defeat of the upcoming raids, I look forward to them for having to see less and less of your inept carcasses. May the Great Vvanu curse you all.
Vokuhr Warsorrow
49th Scion of the Winter's Moon
Reluctant chief of the Northern Horde

Circus Baby Steps
Many thanks to @ryukodragon for help with the title!
It’s good, sometimes, to admit to one’s own mistakes and grow from them. It’ll help inspire other growth.
As much as it annoyed Ven that he would wander off while the artist was still in need of awareness to work on his commissions, Vincent insisted on going to check on the digital ghost living with Meera. Ever since the two of them opened the new Freddy's Pizza at the old location, Lucian had been acting oddly agitated. Vincent would be lying to himself if he said he wasn't worried despite the other swearing he wouldn't intentionally go after children.
Old habits die hard, after all.
So here he was at the pizzeria, walking around and past people who shivered slightly at his passing. Where was Lucian?
"Three, and two, and three, and four...."
Vincent blinked, hearing the other man's voice softly muttering not too far away. He looked around quickly, searching for the electric blue color of the digital ghost. Where was he? Would he be in the Circus Baby body, performing on stage? Vincent glanced towards the cheap wooden stage, mouth twisting at the sight of the stationary trash can with the balloon 'head'. No, Lucian would stay away from that mess. Despite his current choice of 'vessel' being built much lighter than his previous forms, Baby's figure would be counted as too heavy for that stage to support.
Baby was in the shop, anyway, being upgraded for easy switching of outfits and accessories.
"And five, and three, and three, and two...."
Vincent followed the voice and finally spotted him, the blonde leaning forward almost lazily against the counter of the pizza order station near the buffet bar. Ah, that's why he was overlooking him; the digital ghost had the ability to hard-light himself, appearing solid and 'real' to interact with the world and be seen by living people. In that instance the only blue on him would be his clothes as his skin and hair returned to the color Lucian had in life.
As Vincent headed over, sidestepping a child that ran by in happy screams, Lucian blinked slowly, then scowled.
"One. Puppet, get 'em."
An animatronic that looked eerily similar to the Marionette popped out of a gift box near the stage and floated along, targeting the lone child Vincent avoided walking through. He stopped and watched in concern, wondering what was going on. The Puppet continued floating along, following the lone child around like a puppy until the child's mother caught up and collected the kid.
The Puppet promptly turned away and floated back to the gift box. Vincent raised an eyebrow at the scene and looked back towards Lucian in time to see the man breathe a sigh of relief. "That happen often?" he asked and Lucian scowled again.
"Not as much as you're thinking. What do you want?" he returned irritably. Vincent shrugged, making his way to the station and exerting just enough force to be able to lean against the wall by the opening without falling through.
"How's business? This place looks pretty bare budget still," he asked instead, dodging the question. He wasn't sure himself what he wanted, or if he did know then he didn't want to face the knowledge just yet.
Lucian wrinkled his nose in answer. Vincent sighed softly; small talk wasn't going to work today. He looked the other man over, studying him a bit more. After making that mistake some time ago, he was determined not to let it repeat.
The blonde looked equal parts bored and tired, green eye glowing faintly as his gaze tracked children around the dining area. Now and then Lucian would look towards the stage, frowning at the sight of the cheap 'animatronic' attraction. Suddenly, Lucian's gaze snapped to him and Vincent jumped a little in surprise, eyes widening as his face heated up from the attention.
"Que estas haciendo?" the blonde grumbled, squinting at him. Vincent fidgeted; the context was easier to understand than the words.
"I just wanted to check up on you," he admitted with a slight shrug. Lucian gestured at the dining room flippantly.
"Everyone's still alive. You're welcome." His tone was both sarcastic and resentful, and Vincent winced. "Just admit you don't trust me around anyone. I'm tired of you pretending you're a better person just because you don't have anything to regret doing." Lucian shifted in place with a huff, lifting his arms up to rest his chin on his hands as he continued watching the crowd.
He wasn't entirely right; Vincent regretted holding his grudge against Lucian tightly enough that he lashed out at the digital ghost after he'd expressed regret for his crimes, apologized for his actions, and actively tried to atone for them. It made his attempts to repair relations between them so much harder, as Lucian internalized the fighting into a far deeper self-hatred.
"I didn't come to start a fight, Lu-," Vincent began quietly, cutting himself off at the sharp glare Lucian directed at him. Right, right. He had objectified himself to the point of rejecting his name. "Digi. I'm not here to fight. I just wanted to see how you were doing."
Lucian gave him a distrustful look before sighing and folding his arms back down on the counter, shifting in place again. "I'm fine. You can leave now," he replied and waved a hand at Vincent as if to shoo him away.
He frowned, still watching him carefully. Lucian leaned more onto the counter, as though making it bear more of his weight than usual. "You know," Vincent began cautiously, fidgeting with his fingers as the other man looked back at him impatiently, "there is something I regret doing, if I need to be honest."
Lucian raised an eyebrow and tilted his head the slightest bit. Interest, that's good. Vincent breathed a small sigh of relief; he was listening, not blocking him out, a step forward.
"I regret not accepting your apology that day, at your sister's grave." He thought back to that day, to the look of pain and regret in Lucian's expression as he knelt by his younger sister's gravestone. Where had his empathy been, that he refused to recognize those emotions as genuine? "After seeing what you did to help Miss Corbett in that facility, I should have given you a fair chance when you said you wanted to make up for your crimes. I didn't, and I'm sorry for that."
There was silence between them after that. Vincent studied his shoes as the moments ticked by, watching the light of the pizzeria play over the shiny black leather. Children ran by in happy squeals, pizza and cheap prizes in their hands. For all the worries about the Freddy's name bringing bad luck onto the place, it seemed like the restaurant was actually doing well and was safe for everyone.
Likely it helped that the only mobile animatronics in the place were Helpy and Baby, both of them created by Jeremy.
"Tired," Lucian suddenly said with a faint clearing of his throat. Vincent blinked, lifting his head in confusion and looking aside at the blonde. The other man shifted a bit more on the counter, arms folded on the surface. He looked faintly indifferent, gazing over the dining room with his usual bored expression.
"Excuse me?" Vincent asked. Lucian gave him a mild glare and a huff.
"You asked how I was feeling. I'm feeling a bit tired," he returned with a shrug.
"Oh!" Vincent blinked again, "That's... okay?"
Silence again, a bit awkward but it felt lighter. He wasn't sure what to make of that. At least he got a more honest answer to his question so... small victory there?
"And, uh, good... good job... there," Vincent added haltingly, managing a strained smile as Lucian gave him an incredulous look.
"For what?" the digital ghost asked. Vincent gestured vaguely towards the diners.
"Keeping everyone alive?"
Lucian narrowed his eyes and Vincent began wondering if he messed up in reminding him of his earlier words. After a long moment, Lucian sighed heavily, rolling his eyes and shaking his head.
"Este pinche pendejo quien me hace dueles en la cabeza," he muttered, pinching the little space between his brows in exasperation. Vincent laughed a bit nervously; some of the words were familiar enough in context that he could tell he was being talked about. "Por que me fastidias cuando siempre quiero hacer mi trabajo en paz?" Vincent smiled again, wide and still very strained with uncertainty. Would it be better if he just left? "If you're going to stay around and look at things like you're about to shit your pants," Lucian finally snarked at him, "then the least you can do while here is let me borrow some of your energy to keep from passing out. I've been in solid state since this morning."
Vincent stared at him for a moment, then broke into another wide smile, far more genuine than the others. "Yeah, I can do that," he agreed cheerfully and reached out as he leaned back more casually and comfortably against the wall.
"Hey, don't hold my hand like that! We're not dating or some stupid thing! Not on my shoulder, you're too close! Just... put your hand on my arm, okay? There! You get all handsy with me like you do with your little boyfriend and I'll smack you with the pizza pan. Why are you laughing? Is something funny? Tch, mira me con este pendejo loco...."

W. Foxy: Aw, look, the bat has appeared! W. Freddy: So says the man with one hand, jackass. Ennard: ...I now see why Goldie said to keep an eye on these two.
--
Whoa there cowboy! Three refs at once? This read-more is gonna be HUGE! We’ll start with the boss and go from there.
Withered Freddy! In FNAF2, the old bear can be confused by the Freddy mask, thinking it’s presumably Freddy Fazbear himself sitting at the desk... except he is Freddy Fazbear. So in my AU, the older Freddy model’s eyes are starting to go, and not only have they turned silver (haha book reference go brrr) he also carries around a sighted cane and... when not leaning on the arm of one of his friends, tends to stick to using that to get around.
It makes him a rather noisy animatronic during the night shift (the constant tak tak tak of the cane on the tiled floor gives him away) but he makes up for it with a... errr... thrilling attitude, as you can see here as he gives the old fox the finger. His top hat has vanished to parts unknown, so he doesn’t think he needs to keep up his usual tidy appearance, his hair sticking out in places and his jacket staying open and sometimes falling from his shoulders. He’s surprisingly laid-back now he’d stepped back from the spotlight, but that doesn’t make him any less threatening.
Withered Foxy!! Despite outward appearances... and a hand that may have broken off in the past and been replaced with just his hook, Withered Foxy is a kind soul. He does like teasing his boss, though, and calling him a bat. He looks not a whole lot like a pirate, but don’t let his looks decieve, this fox is a captain through and though. Much like his boss’ hat, Withered Foxy has misplaced his eyepatch and pirate coat and hat, but he doesn’t let that stop him. His eyes aren’t great, especially since Withered Bonnie may have scratched one of them in an altercation in the back room.
The reason why Withered Foxy hangs back from the office and lunges is he’s a little antsy about interacting with people. He’s a big scary fox, and parents used to guide their kids away from him during working hours. Over the years, it wore away his want to interact with just about anyone... Although the concept of scaring the pants off the night guard by running down the hall and jumping up on the desk is a hard bargain to ignore!
Ennard is last but not least, being not from FNAF2 in the slightest! He’s a mediator within the Sister series, more brains than brawn, but he’ll throw hands if prompted. His mask is mostly for show, but when he puts it on, he can leave his suit behind and move along in a sort of messy mash-up of endoskeleton bits, allowing him to temporarily fit into small gaps and sneak through where regular-sized and large-sized animatronics shouldn’t be able to go.
It limits his range to only so far from his suit before he can’t strain his range any further, but only Ennard can get inside and pilot his body, making him not quite a springlock-style suit like the others... But he can, if given the chance to, crawl inside other animatronics and pilot their suits regardless of if they are a springlock or not while they themselves are still in there. In the past, he’d have to settle for being repaired with whatever parts he could find, and his eyes change colours seemingly wildly across his early appearances... if he even had eyes in the appearance. His latest choices have been eyes taken from the part-piles of Funtime Foxy and Funtime Freddy, and his outfit more closely resembles that of one of the Funtime boys than any of the others at Circus Baby’s.
--
Poor Ennard was requested by Goldie to keep an eye on his old boss and old captain while he dealt with some stuff with the Sister Location, and... well... he sort of regrets agreeing to it so cheerfully. The Withered crew is a bit of a handful, all things considered, and no thanks to either of these old geezers teasing each other almost non-stop.
I also noticed all of the Sister-series animatronics that aren’t small-sized (so ones like Ballora, Funtime Foxy, and Ennard and not Bonbon, Minirena, or Electrobab) all have the “speaker” in their design on the front of their costume around the chest area, while the smaller ones don’t. Also, Helpy has the speaker on his costume, making him the only small-sized animatronic I can think of with the speaker. Funtime Chica has one... But it’s located slightly differently and is smaller. She’s almost the only regular-sized “Sister Series” animatronic without one!
One of these days I’ll explain the size-classes of animatronics... But not today!
Maybe after I draw out Nightmarionne. He’s a small-large size and I feel like at that point it’d be needed.

I am Machine: Chapter 5
Sleep didn’t come to Alec this time, he watched as Lefty and Helpy slept, they finally went to bed at 1:21am, while Alec was left think about what Lefty said.
That lock existed because a Lonely Freddy came into their room while they slept. Lefty knew they were already dangerous, he just didn’t know the extent of it until he met Alec.
Alec knew if they got rid of the Lonely Freddy when Lefty talked to “Mike” that he wouldn’t be here right now, but Alec didn't blame Lefty for this.
If Lefty had his way initially...... He would have unintentionally saved Alec.
This room wasn’t as cold as others Alec had been in previously, he did still wish he had that blanket he found, recalling it was most likely left at that guy's house. His name was Lewis Anthony, Alec remembered, he is the Music Man. Would be likely he'd get the blanket back? It was soft and great to lay on, his argument was despite being covered in fur now, he could feel the cold more intensely now, he hated cold, which is why Alec hated Winter.
The hours flew by and eventually Alec heard movement, he turned to see Lefty had opened his eyes and looked at the displayed time from the clock that sat on the desk where Helpy often worked.
"12:10pm....” Lefty mumbled pulling off his blanket and standing up, stretching out.
"Aren’t you.... Late for work?” Alec asked him knowing it was a few hours pass opening time.
Alec saw Lefty jump slightly, “Oh I forgot about you being here.....” He turned to him, “I'm only use to hearing Helpy’s voice when I wake up. Seems he still sleeping like a cat,” He looked over at the small bear who was all cuddled up against the blanket, looking so peaceful.
"So um.....” Lefty was trying to think of what to say to Alec, he knew Alec was most likely a bit emotionally unstable being in the wrong body.
"You obviously don't.... Want to stay this way?” Lefty knew what the answer was but he needed to hear it from Alec.
Alec huffed, “No, I don't enjoy being a perfect height for people to kick me.”
"I don't want a repeat of the kicking incident with Helpy,” Lefty grabbed his red hat from where it sat on his black bedside table and placed it on his head. He then lifted up the red ribbon and began to tie it around his neck as he spoke, “He was aching all day as was Freddy. Benedict had to delicately put back his spine into place, much like humans, if robots break their spines, we don't stand a chance unless it's all fixed up. I could've broken that teenager's spine if they weren't so many witnesses.”
He spoke about teenagers quite bitterly, that seemed to be his only real experience with a teenager.
“Really?” Alec asked. Alec had yet to tell Lefty his age so he was unaware he was speaking to a teenager at this very moment.
"Well I am strong enough to break a spine....” Lefty had adjusted his bowtie so it sat perfectly, “But I did at lease get to scream at the teenager for a solid twenty minutes for thinking it was funny to kick a small robot who didn't even provoke him, my voice was gone later but it was worth seeing that pathetic brat's face go white.. He was.... Scared.... Of what I'd do.....” Lefty frowned realising something, “Alec... I must ask and don’t think this is because I don't believe you...”
"You don't?” Alec asked sounding unintentionally very worried which Lefty immediately picked up on.
"No! No! I do believe you.... But this situation..... It's strange to me... I've never dealt with this.... I need to know this however, Alec how did Fred get you? In the sense of.... How did this happen? I’m still unclear on how.”
"I went into a backroom-” Alec explained with Lefty unexpectedly cutting him off with:
"You are not allowed in backrooms unless you work here. Customers are not permitted to roam in those areas for their own safety.”
It sounded like Lefty was reciting a rule that was well known, Alec wondered how often he had to repeat that one rule to remember it. Alec knew he broke that rule and didn't care now, so he answered “Obviously I know that.”
"I'm surprised you weren’t found by an employee. I myself roam those backrooms often when I'm not on stage, I'm surprised I didn't encounter you unless I was on stage for a long segment during that time.” Lefty responded.
“Can I continue?”
"Go ahead,” Lefty answered, “Wait, can you describe the room? Any props inside?”
"It had like... Old arcade machines.. Some broken toys...” Alec recalled.
“Oh yes, that's the south west backroom, we keep various props lying around in there,” Lefty nodded, “I have seen a Lonely Freddy in there about five months ago but it looked deactivated so I didn’t bother with it. I need to remember what Marionette has told me, which is “things are often not what they appear,” which is why I believe you, you appear as one of the deceivers but you are actually one who was hoodwinked.”
"Lonely Freddy approached me... It seemed normal at first, then he got extremely personal...” Lefty tilted his head confused so Alec had told him about the questions he recalled which were suspicious, “Asking who I admired, what would I do if I had to hurt someone I love, what I fear, and asking.... Asking... Asking...”
What's your biggest regret Alec?
A chill ran down his spine.
You are weak for telling him that. Pathetic.
"Alec. Alec. Alec! Hey!” Lefty had snapped his fingers in front of his face to bring his attention back, Alec blinked and looked at Lefty who had gone from standing in front of his bed to kneeling in front of him. He had been so out of it that he didn't see Lefty move.
"What exactly were you asked? I’d like to know,” Lefty prompted.
He felt like he was forced to answer, not because of that single golden honey colour eye staring at him to force an answer, but because Lefty needed the answer, “What’s my biggest regret...” Alec told him.
Lefty's pupil noticeably shrunk in shock, he had either heard that particular question before or was surprised it asked that question.
Could he have heard it before?
When he blinked, his eye grew to normal size, “Why didn't you run away? Lonely Freddy couldn’t have possibly stopped you. You could have kick it, I kicked one once and it went down easily.”
"I couldn't move.... Those eyes... Glowing...” It still seemed so hazy to him, yet very real. He remembered his panic, the disappointment of hearing his mom and Hazel so close by, yet unable to find him.
"That girl....” Lefty himself had recalled what he encountered and his face turned to rage, “It's the same thing!!!! You were put into a trance Alec, Lonely Freddy hypnotised you, by using known the well known method one, eye contact and possibly using his voice as some sort of lure....” Lefty spoke as a matter of fact, “An unspoken rule of keeping yourself safe from evil is to not look something strange in the eye if you don't know what it could do.”
"Hey I didn't know that! It's not my fault!!” Alec shouted.
"I was not blaming you! You did nothing wrong!” Lefty exclaimed, “So unable to move... Glowing eyes...... What happened next?”
"I closed my eyes and woke up.... He was gone... I notice everything was bigger.”
"You didn’t initially make a connection?” Lefty asked, “Lonely Freddy gone, the world looks bigger? Didn't you see the fact you had paws now?” Lefty had held out and extended out his own paw to show him.
Lefty had pointed out the obvious glaring issues that Alec overlooked, “No I didn't,” Alec answered, “I saw my reflection later and I knew what happened at that point.”
Lefty tapped his chin, “The fact your voice doesn’t sound like a Lonely Freddy and you have green eyes instead of blue, and you perfectly describe a very textbook case of hypnosis... It all adds up.... But why did you hide from me? From the others? I understand hiding from humans but if you came to me with the story sooner, I could have helped you, perhaps I could have tended to this as soon as it happened. I could have even stopped Lonely Freddy from leaving the pizzeria in your body.”
Alec could easily answer, “I was scared....”
"Scared of us?”
"I didn’t know what you'd do! You could have quickly turned on me-!!”
"You thought we'd kill you???” Lefty asked seemingly surprised at this.
"That guy Lewis said you hate Lonely Freddy-”
"I knew even at that moment you were listening to us! I didn’t tell Lewis because he would have immediately gotten hysterical, much like how you are. How old are you suppose to be?”
"Fifteen.”
"Oh you’re a teenager.”
"Why does that change anything?” Alec almost sneered at him.
"No it doesn’t, you're still a human, I sense it. You are not suppose to be a robot. I just didn’t guess you were a teenager... But now that I think.... It makes sense...?” Lefty looked around as he spoke, “A young child would have approached us regardless of what they appeared as. An adult wouldn’t even be here, they'd figure out a way to escape. A teenager would probably panic like you.”
"Are you insulting me?” Alec questioned.
"No, it's an observation,” Lefty answered.
"Speaking of that, why is it so quiet? The pizzeria's open... Isn't it?
"Our rooms are soundproof, behind three different tightly locked doors so we don't hear what's going on in the pizzeria, and also kids can’t accidentally wander in this area. It's good too because we all have different sleep schedules, me and Helpy usually sleep from 2:00am to around 12:00pm, but if I have to work earlier for a birthday that specifically requested me, I have a nap at about 2:00pm until 5:00pm. If Helpy works all night helping Mike, he's asleep from 10:00am to about midnight. It's easy for us to adjust our sleeping schedules.”
"Easy for you, humans don’t work that way,” Alec scoffed.
"You know if you have trouble sleeping.... You should try some Chamomile tea before bed. You're still able to eat and drink but it's not necessary to survive like humans,” Lefty replied walking over to the door, “Would you like to join me for something to eat or stay here?”
Alec thought back to that strange scrapping noise on the door last night, “I’ll come with you...” Alec walked to be alongside him as Lefty unlocked the door and opened it.
They walked in quiet, as Lefty wasn't as talkative as Helpy. Alec saw he was not even looking at him, he had a look on his face like he was mentally somewhere else. He'd be exactly like that when he was being lectured by his parents but the thing was when he wanted them to acknowledge him.... They ignored him.
He missed his family.
Lefty opened one door and stepped aside so Alec could walk through. Lefty then took the lead again and opened a door at the end of the hall. They arrived at a sort of small communal area there was a kitchen set up, an area with sofas.
A man was in one of those sofas, his back turned away, so he didn’t see them, Lefty realised the situation and shoved Alec along until he was hidden behind the kitchen island counter top.
"Otis?” Lefty asked trying to act as casual as he possibly could to not accidentally reveal Alec.
"Oh! I didn’t hear you come in! Good morning- I mean Good afternoon! It's afternoon....”
"It's okay, you on a break?”
"Lunch break, I'll be gone in ten minutes, I guess I could go now if I'm bothering you.”
"Oh no! You can stay Otis, there's no problem here....” Lefty replied, “Say.... I wanted to ask.... You once spoke about.... Something... Called the Shadow Puppet, he was in your story... Is he based on the legend I read about once?”
"Legend no, Shadow Puppet is real Lefty, apperantly he was once a friendly man but something changed about him and he changed for the worse, embraced the darker magic elements and used them for diabolical purposes. You know magic is suppose to be used for good intentions and those who use it for evil become disfigured..... Anyway why are you asking?”
"Hypnotising and Body swap are generally dark magic right? The evil side tend to use them to get an advantage don't they?”
"I don't like where this is going Lefty-” Otis looked disturbed by the topic.
"I’m asking because!.... Because!......” Lefty looked around the room then looked back at Otis, “Can you keep a secret?” His voice had lowered to almost a whisper.
"Sure!”
"This will not leave this room at any point,” Lefty said, he turned to Alec, then he kneeled down and lifted him up.
"What are you doing?!?” Alec asked extremely panicked because Lefty had lifted him off the ground and he knew a person was there who would see him.
"Calm down, Otis's as dangerous as butterfly,” Lefty assured him.
Otis's eyes widen, “My! Is that a Lonely Freddy? I thought all of them were gone!”
"This is Alec..... I was right Otis... He's suppose to be human like you, Lonely Freddy had hypnotic capabilities with a body swap tied to that, and it slipped pass all of us!” Lefty held Alec like a child, “Seems impossible when you consider you're a magician, Security is an anti-kidnapping measure that has always worked, I'm able to detect souls and anything suspicious, not to mention we have other staff who are almost always actively patrolling the pizzeria! It just seems so impossible yet it did happen... Now, do I have your permission to go to your house and look for anything that could help me, help Alec, go back to his normal body?”
Otis was thinking for a minute, “I see..... Does anyone else?”
"Helpy knows but Foxy saw him at one point, and as stubborn as he is, he's likely not to leave it alone so easily,” Lefty spoke, “He could be a problem.”
"You will probably have to at lease tell Freddy eventually, Alec can not be kept a secret especially if you, and I think you do, have any intention of returning Alec to his correct body,”
"I will tell him soon, but I don't want to find out you've been going around telling anyone else. No one else should know unless I told them,” Lefty said as he put Alec on the ground.
"How.... Do you know how it happened?”
“Only Alec really knows, it could be possible that his memory of that event is foggy like how some victims of hypnosis are, they struggle to recall the exact event but remember the before and after. I didn’t see it happening but apperantly it's remarkably similar to an incident I have seen but with a different outcome because I interfered in the other incident.”
“30 years have gone by without a single incident in the company’s history....”
"That’s why I have strong belief this isn’t a coincidence..... I think.... He's back, and he's trying something new..... He doing that in hope that we don't recognise his new signature, but it aligns with the whole concept of “Harvesting Soul Remnant”. I need a word with Security when they aren’t busy.”
"Him...? This is serious....”
"It’s also just a theory I have, but it seems very close to what he did apperantly... This could be someone new though, I do know Mr. Emily didn't build these things.... This is what I'll do, Alec will stay in my room, once I tell Freddy, I'll be fine letting him roam at night, but not at day. If kids see him, they'll go ballistic. If the staff see him, he'll be put out for good, I won’t let that happen until they're swapped back, then I'll give the real Lonely Freddy to Benedict so he permanently shut down the vile thing.”
Lefty looked at Alec as he spoke, “As much as I hate this situation because this is an area I've never explored in magic.... Alec is technically only still alive because this.... Is a vessel for his soul, self conscious, and memories. Mike won't give him a chance to explain... Alec you would be immediately shut down if you were found and that..... That would officially end your life, it's like turning off a life support unit,” Lefty explained, “My priority will be keeping you alive, I expect you to do all you can also to prevent being caught by the staff members.”
“Well you're talking about keeping me alive so......” Alec responded realising that all he had said made sense even if the whole thing appears quite grim.
"The only other human I feel safe to tell is Lewis, he'll understand this... I only told Otis so I could look through his stuff. I'd only tell Mike if I need to, I'd rather not tell him if I don’t have to...”
"Yes, yes..... Mike will mostly not listen to Alec because he can't see the truth....” Otis agreed.
"Hopefully now I know about Alec's situation.... I can come up with a plan.... Maybe we could lure the Lonely Freddy back here, or if that isn’t possible, I could ask Lewis to take me and Alec to Alec’s house and we'll swap back there with no one else knowing, it depends on what must be done and what me, Helpy and Security can do.”
Otis shook his head, “This is... Way beyond my understanding.... Do what you must Lefty! You can look through what I have! We must do the right thing and return Alec to his body as soon as possible before the Lonely Freddy does something desperate and undoable to stop your efforts!”
Alec frowned, what exactly would Lonely Freddy do to stop him from returning to his body? Nothing really came to him at that point other than how desperate would that bear get just to keep his identity indefinitely. Fred obviously would not want to blow his cover as an imposter and he obviously hadn’t done so yet if no one came to look for Alec.
Unless they don't know where to look for me.... His mind had said in that moment, Maybe if I asked... Lefty would let me see my house... See my family.
"Thank you Otis,” Lefty smiled.
"Oh Lefty, I wanted to ask you something.”
"Yes?”
"Your room is close to Bonnie's, I was in there last night before I went home because I had hit my head while working, did you... Happen to hear a strange noise last night?” Otis asked.
"A strange noise...?”
"It sounded like scrapping, like something snatching on wood. By the time I looked, the sound stopped and what ever was causing it was gone.”
"Maybe Alec made the noise? He fell over or something?” Lefty suggested.
"No I didn’t, I heard the noise too, and talking, quiet talking,” Alec said.
"Talking..... Helpy got spooked once and told me he was sure someone was outside our door talking quietly. I didn’t think much of it because we have a lock on our door and when I started practicing magic I put a “no evil shall breach” spell on the door, so anything that tries to break in with evil intentions, will be repelled.....”
"Is there anything we should be concerned about?” Alec questioned Lefty.
"Security did tell me once that if we hear barking outside at night we should make sure the doors are locked.... I thought it was funny initially, we aren’t close enough to any houses that we would hear any dog barking.... But then I heard barking a couple of nights ago and it sounded very close..... I looked later.... There were big paw prints in front of the pizzeria... Bigger than any dog that exists... It freaks me out, what happened to you freaks me out!”
Alec nodded, “I know.... It's still surreal for me... I thought this was a nightmare.”
"Lefty, you best hide Alec for now, I believe Fiona and Rockstar Chica are on break soon, and their reactions will... Draw attention...” Otis stood up and walked to the door, “I’ll see you later Lefty, good luck in finding a way to reverse this awful curse.”
Lefty nodded as Otis left the room, Alec looked up at him.
"Curse...?” was the only word out of his month.
"I guess this technically is... A curse,” Lefty responded.
"A curse...” Alec repeated, he had never viewed his situation as a curse.
“But most curses can be reversed! I'm sure there is a way to undo this!” Lefty exclaimed, when he heard Alec repeat it sounding terrified.
"But most people who get cursed deserve it.....” Alec knew that much, he then looked away, “Maybe I did deserve this.....”
"I can see into your soul and I know you did nothing bad enough to deserve this!!!!”
“That's because you really don't know me!” Alec exclaimed angry.
"And that doesn’t matter! I know what I need to!” Lefty yelled back at him with the same amount of rage Alec just had, “You are a teenager who needs to go back to his own body and I will find a way! It'll..... It'll just...... Take time.... It’ll take time to fix the mess you’ve gotten yourself into......” Lefty shook his head.
Alec was silent. He watched Lefty turn his attention away and grabbed the coffee jug from the machine, he then reached up and grabbed a black coloured mug with a strange jagged white stripe pattern that looked like lightning bolts.
Lefty was drinking coffee when Alec spoke.
"Lefty..?”
“What is it Alec?”
He wasn't yelling or ignoring him.
He was actually listening to him.
“I want to go home and make things right,” Alec said, “I’ve done some pretty bad things....”
Lefty looked at Alec, completely focused, Alec felt compelled to say this, “I hurt my sister, I made her cry, and I didn’t apologise for it. I was so angry at her, I thought she was a brat, but it was me, and this is my fault. I didn't mean to make her cry.”
"Oh Alec...” He put down his coffee mug and kneeled down, speaking directly to him, “We all do stupid things in anger, we're so determined to prove a point, when it goes haywire, we can lose our temper, I do it, I've seen Helpy lose his cool when things go wrong, everyone here has gotten frustrated.....”
"My sister.... I was awful to her.... And it was my fault, she wanted to be my friend and I ruined it for no good reason... I hated her for no good reason...”
"Honestly.... I've sometimes become frustrated with Helpy, but I always realise that he is just bothering me because I'm like his brother, and I can’t change that... I feel honoured Helpy considers me as such....” Lefty said, then gave a small smile.
“I’m certain, it is not too late to repair your relationship with your sister, let her be your friend, have a long discussion, tell her how you feel, make sure you let her speak too, be honest with her. I've had to fix my own relationships before, and I always believed it was too far gone to undo my mistakes.... But each time I was wrong, because there's two sides to everything. To me, it appears you were jealous of your sister, perhaps a conversation with your parents isn’t out of line? It might be good to also speak to your parents...”
“It seems your sister wanted nothing more than to be your friend. It's remarkable, true friends, will never be pushed away, even we try to shove them through the front door again and again, treat them as an unwelcomed guest, a nuisance... They always come back to make sure we're okay, because they care.”
"What if she likes the imposter more than me?”
"Lonely Freddy is not her brother. You are, I'm sure... Your sister-”
"Her name is Hazel,” Alec irrupted him to tell him.
"Hazel would rather want her own brother over Freddy any day, plus... I'm certain, he cannot keep up the façade forever... Something will slip, and Hazel may already realise that something is amiss. Lonely Freddy will have no idea how to perfectly mimic you, someone who truly knows you will see something is wrong.”
Alec has a very reassuring conversation with Lefty. Hope you enjoyed Chapter 5.

I am Machine Chapter 11
Here's to being human
Taking it for granted
The highs and lows of living
To getting second chances.
Alec was taking a chance.
He had been gone longer than he realised.
He was sitting on a bed they had gotten for him which was in the corner of the room in front of Lefty's bed, he watched Lefty in deep sleep, the lights were off but Alec could see everything, from the current time of 8:27pm on the clock on the desk, the titles of the books on the shelf and even the small writing on the post-it notes that Helpy scattered all over.
The key was hanging on a hook, on the side of the bookshelf, at such a height that only Lefty could grab it, most likely to stop Helpy from grabbing it, Alec huffed, but I need to get it now.
I have a chance.
Alec moved the desk chair, used it as a step, jumped up and reached his hand up.
Not good enough.
He climbed up the back support, slightly unsteady, shaking but he was now able to swipe the key with his paw.
He got on the ground, opening the bedroom door and walking away.
He kept looking around paranoid that Lefty would wake any minute and see the key was missing and instantly connect the dots, as he knew Lefty was intelligent. He didn’t like to think about what would happen, Helpy had more than once told Alec that Lefty had a bad temper and Alec had actually seen him nearly physically attacking Bonnie when he appeared saying: “You hurt a bloody child! If you so much as leave another bruise on him, you’ll pay with your life!!”
This needed to be as quick as possible. No one should see him.
His eyes looked at the Prize Corner, Security was off somewhere else, most likely with the other animatronics, so it was unattended.
He saw a skateboard.
That would do nicely.
It certainly sped things along, Alec was able to use a cardboard box (presumably it was a delivery box) to stand up and reach the lock, he jammed the key in and turned it in a anti-clockwise direction like how he saw Lefty do and the door swung out slightly. He looked behind himself to make sure no one saw him, even if someone like Helpy saw him, he’d immediately go tell Lefty what he was up to, regardless of him being asleep.
He was still for a solid two minutes until he decided it was safe to move.
Once outside Alec pulled the box outside and use it to step up again and relocked the door so Lefty didn’t know he left, even if he noticed he wasn’t in the room, maybe Lefty would reason he's hiding somewhere. He knew he needed to cover his tracks so no one would notice he left.
This was the first time he had been outside in months, because of how dark it was, his eyes had lit up in a green glow so he could see around even with the street light on across the road, the parking lot was empty and it was silent.
It was peaceful. No one in the streets as he managed to use the skateboard and he felt like it significantly reduced the time he was taking to go. Luckily he knew which way he had to go, he did see car headlights occasionally wash over him but it appeared they didn’t care enough to look at him, still he was wary, somebody could steal him and no one would know.
About halfway there, Alec started to wonder if Lefty was still asleep, he had that look often of being very tired even when he just woke up. He also thought about possibly never going back if he was accepted by his family, but he knew that Lefty was still actively searching for a method to swap him back into his body and he really didn’t love the concept of this body being forever. He had seen Lefty reading very complex looking books which Lefty had informed him they were in “Latin”, Alec did at one point studied French years ago in middle school because it was compulsory, he really didn’t see it necessary to learn Latin, which was also offered. He did tell Lefty this and he replied:
“I could teach you some basic Latin if you wish.”
Finally familiar sights entered his vision. He breathed relieved and lend to turn into Rylanders Street.
There was Marcus's house, that was Mr Simon's house across the street, the neighbour Lauren.
His house.
It looked the same. The light was on in the living room and kitchen, he turned to the driveway, and stopped, he dragged the skateboard behind him as he snuck quietly to the kitchen window.
There was his mother.
She was washing dishes in the sink, obviously from dinner. Wait. Somebody else was there.
Aunt Gigi.
It appeared she came over for dinner most likely.
“What do you mean? I don't understand why you keep insisting...” His mother was talking.
“Meg, I’m telling you one last time, something is wrong with Alec.”
“Just because he wants to help out more?”
“Something happened at Hazel's birthday party, he's acting different.”
“I think it’s nice, Alec is being more open with us,” His mother replied as she scrubbed away at a plate that was half submerged in the water.
“And one other thing, me and Alec use to talk frequently, we don't anymore and that’s very strange!”
He didn’t think about that. He could have gone to Aunt Gigi, she was most likely to believe him, believe this happened, his parents wouldn't believe him because there was no real ground to say he was the “Real Alec”, the imposter by this point most likely learnt a lot from conversation and was mimicking Alec perfectly. But if he convinced one person, it would make a big difference.
He wondered where Hazel was. Maybe she'd believe him too if he gave the genuine heart felt apology he wanted to give her, he could sneak in maybe, go into her room and tell her, but entering his house wasn’t going to be easy, everyone seemed to be awake still, and he was certain Freddy wouldn't give up without a fight, while here he was outnumbered by his family, Maybe Lefty could help me get inside the house at some point.
“He’s busy with school work..” He was paying attention to his mother again.
“For months on end?” Aunt Gigi asked, “Something is not right here! I had a dream that Alec was someone else! He was an imposter and the real Alec... well he didn’t look how he should but he was Alec alright!”
“That dream means nothing, maybe you’re just stressed because of everything....” His mother suggested.
“Maybe... But I swear a child doesn't storm off angry and come back like nothing happened, completely new!” Gigi got up from her seat, “Goodnight Meg,”
“Goodnight Gigi,” She replied as she disappeared from view, most likely leaving through the front door.
He pondered for a second, should he go to Gigi and tell her what happened? He could stay with her, maybe through her, he could convince his parents.
No, I shouldn’t, his mind decided. There were far too many risks with that.
He watched Aunt Gigi leave then he looked back into the window.
“Mom?”
Hazel. His heart stopped. She appeared. She was exactly as he remember, curly blond hair and light green eyes. He wanted to tell her how sorry he was for feeling hatred to her, he wanted to beg for her forgiveness, he wanted to be the brother she deserved. He knew now there was no good reason why he hated her, he was ready to make it right then and he hoped now, months later, that it wasn’t too late to do so.
“What is it sweetheart?”
“Could me and Alec have some ice cream?”
“Yes of course! You both did well at school recently! It's the first time your brother has gotten a B in a while.. Considering how he muddles things up.”
That should have been suspicious!!! Alec wanted to scream. His hand writing was usually messy and it was quoted by some to be “unreadable”, the teachers knew that!! His parents knew that! Well at lease he thought they did!!
“Hazel?”
He finally appeared.
If Alec could, he would strangle him. He felt engulfed by rage, why did he do this to him? Why did no one see what was wrong here? When he saw “Alec” smiling, he wanted to scream, “Imposter! Imposter! That's not me! That's not me! I'm the real Alec! I can prove it!! I can prove it if you would just listen me! Listen to me for once in your life please! I'm still here! I’m here! He stole my body! He stole my body!! I am Alec! I am!!”
𝒀𝒐𝒖 𝒘𝒂𝒏𝒏𝒂 𝒌𝒊𝒍𝒍 𝒉𝒊𝒎 𝑨𝒍𝒆𝒄? 𝑰 𝒄𝒂𝒏 𝒉𝒆𝒍𝒑 𝒚𝒐𝒖, 𝑰 𝒄𝒂𝒏 𝒌𝒊𝒍𝒍 𝒉𝒊𝒎 𝒇𝒐𝒓 𝒚𝒐𝒖, 𝒓𝒊𝒈𝒉𝒕 𝒏𝒐𝒘 𝒂𝒄𝒕𝒖𝒂𝒍𝒍𝒚. 𝑾𝒆 𝒄𝒂𝒏 𝒕𝒐𝒓𝒕𝒖𝒓𝒆 𝒉𝒊𝒎 𝒕𝒐𝒈𝒆𝒕𝒉𝒆𝒓, 𝒎𝒂𝒌𝒆 𝒉𝒊𝒎 𝒑𝒂𝒚 𝒇𝒐𝒓 𝒉𝒐𝒘 𝒉𝒆 𝒓𝒖𝒊𝒏𝒆𝒅 𝒚𝒐𝒖𝒓 𝒍𝒊𝒇𝒆, 𝒎𝒂𝒌𝒆 𝒉𝒊𝒎 𝒔𝒖𝒇𝒇𝒆𝒓.
He was watching what was going on, his rage was slowly turning into realising he was seeing his worse nightmare.
They love him more.
He slowly dropped down to the ground, he heard their happy laughter, a perfect family. That didn’t include him. He was the reason why the family wasn’t perfect and now he was gone, everything was good in the house.
“I thought they would love me for who I was.... And that’s not me...”
He was alone. More than ever.
On a dead end street, can't go back, can't go forward. Nowhere left to go.
Alone. Alone. Alone. No friends. No family. He was unwanted.
He really was just a Lone Freddy. Tears rolled down his face, nothing would be fixed. Nobody loved him or even cared he was gone. Lonely Freddy won and Alec was now left behind like a distant memory or children’s toy, it made him cry even more.
He now only realised he really did lose everything.
“Alec.”
It took him a minute to realise that was from behind him and not inside the house, he turned around and saw Lefty, he was wearing a cloak to cover himself but Alec saw his glowing yellow eye looking directly down at him.
“I knew you'd be here,” Lefty said, “As soon as I realised you and my key were missing. I knew you came here...”
“You've come here before...” Alec said realising.
“I did, I didn’t want to tell you,”— Alec should have been shocked Lefty just admitted that, but he honestly wasn’t. “I came here while you and Helpy slept about a week ago, found the address and I got curious. They looked happy... I didn’t want to tell you anything... That was wrong I know... I didn’t want to hurt you more than you already are...” Lefty told him.
“They don't love me anymore.”
“Yes they do, Yes they do love you,” Lefty tried to assure him. “They just don't realise that imposter,” Lefty pointed at “Alec” inside, Alec saw that he was making Hazel laugh. She was smiling.
“Isn’t you,” Lefty finished.
Alec felt like he was looking at a life that didn’t belong to him anymore, a life he never had in the first place. Lefty continued talking, “Your family love you, Alec, they only love you, if they ever realised that is not you, they would be heartbroken to learn that you're out there somewhere alone, without them at all, to protect you, to love you... I will make this right, Lonely Freddy will pay for what he did, and you will go home.”
“But what if I can't? What if this is all for nothing? What if there is no way to reverse this? I'll be stuck this way, I'll be a robot forever, and my family will never know. I could never go home...”
His voice chocked up as he tears intensified.
He felt like a child.
He was a child.
A scared, lonely child who just wanted to have his family back.
Lefty had immediately kneeled down and scooped him up, hugging him close.
Alec noticed how soft his fur was, then he recalled a conversation where Lefty explained his fur was super soft as a “sensory” thing for children.
“Even.... Even if we cannot undo this.... I will do everything I can, I'll talk to your family, explain everything... I'll find a way to make it work Alec.... Even if you aren’t human anymore, you still need your family. Your family would want only you...”
“But that's the thing, I'm not human... I'm a robot like you....”
“You have a soul that is a human..... You belong with your family.....” Lefty said.
“I'm out of place here... I just wanted to see them.... I'm alone.”
“But you aren't, I'm here right now and I came to find you out here...”
He was a friend.
He didn’t feel alone anymore.
CRASH!
Alec jumped in fright slightly and began to look around frantically.
“The storm! I forgot!” Lefty exclaimed looking over his shoulder.
“I was starting to think you lied about that to keep me away from here!” Alec exclaimed.
“No I didn't! I wouldn't lie about that!” Lefty answered, “We need to go back to pizzeria now!”
“We might not make it!”
“We have to try!” Lefty stood up, holding Alec close, as he looked around.
“Maybe we can hide in the garage!” Alec suggested.
“Won't we risk getting caught by your parents??” Lefty questioned him.
“I'm just scared we won't get back!”
Lefty thought for a minute, “Would it be locked?”
“I know where Dad hides the key,” Alec immediately answered.
Lefty was quiet again, “If you can get the key quickly, go.” He nodded.
Alec dropped down, they snuck around the side, Alec managed to climb up the back fence and opened the latch on the other side so Lefty could walk in. Alec approached the door to the garage from the back garden, he pointed up and Lefty saw a key hanging on a nail. He pulled it off and used it to unlock the door, they quickly stepped in and Lefty closed the door behind him.
“We have to be quiet, this connected to the house, Dad might look in here if we make too much noise,” Alec warned Lefty, who nodded.
“I suppose we can wait out the storm just as long as your parents or your imposter doesn’t catch us in here,” Lefty answered, “Is this your father’s car?” he asked as he pointing to the car in front of him.
“Mom’s,” Alec corrected.
“I’ve seen this car numerous times when I'm out and about,” Lefty nodded, “Is your mom a nice woman?” He asked not knowing a lot about Alec’s parents aside from their names.
“Yes.”
Lefty rose his eyebrow, “You sounded uncertain.”
“No! It's not like she's hurting me or anything if that's what you're thinking!!! Mom tried to manage my behaviour and I really hated it... She... She and Dad... they didn’t really listen to me most of the time... But she wanted to help me, and she was at the end of her rope as to how.”
“I said before that it would be good to sit down with your parents and talk,” Lefty reminded him.
“I feel like I've done a lot of bad things to them...”
“They love you Alec, they are your mom and dad.”
“I’ve... done so many bad things.”
Lefty argued, “But the future is unwritten and you dictate what path you shall take, Lonely Freddy will never change who he is... but you can change, you chose who you are in the end.”
“What.... What was the worse thing you ever did..? If you don't mind answering... How did it go...?”
“You're asking my biggest regret in life?” Lefty questioned.
“I’m curious... What would you have done that is bad? Surely you aren't perfect....”
Lefty frowned, “This may scare you.... But eight years ago... I hurt somebody on purpose.... I attacked a man in the bathroom, I slammed him against the wall and chocked him until there was no breath left in his body..... The man was hurting his kids... And they begged me to help them. I was so enraged that a father would hurt his own kids... I flipped out and lost my sense of judgement, I should have called the police on him... I nearly killed him Alec..... Somebody found him a couple of minutes after I left, they called an ambulance... He went to prison.... But if they found out what I did... I'd be deactivated. It happened eight years ago... I'm still wary someone will connect it back to me... They said someone attacked him but they didn’t know who....”
“Worse part..? Somehow, even after all these years... There’s a part of me that keeps telling me it was right. It did feel right at the time, like my purpose was actually to rid the world of scum... Alec... I wouldn’t hurt you if you're scared of that!!”
Alec had been told something major, he knew he needed to keep it a secret, “I understand why.... I didn't nearly kill anyone but I acted in anger with my sister... I regret hurting her.”
Lefty frowned, “That.... That actually could be why Lonely Freddy preyed on you....” Alec looked confused at him so Lefty resumed speaking, “Lonely Freddy might have gone after you because of your family relationship. How rocky it was, how emotional you were. Emotion is key to everything,” Lefty had poked his finger at Alec's chest, where the speaker was.
“Monsters often go after kids who are frighten of them, they will not waste their time on kids who won't feed into their hunger for fear. Lonely Freddy very well had already spied on you, saw you were a perfect candidate, a perfect victim to attack, and he waited until you were at your weakest, no witnesses, in a dark room, he entranced you, body swapped and left you in this body... Thankfully you seem to be the only one.”
Lefty looked strangely relieved by that, so Alec kept silent about his time in that bin, he didn’t want to make Lefty freak out, even if it sounded selfish to not tell him about it... about them.
“Speaking of which.... Could you tell me... What happened after you were swapped...? Like feeling wise and at exactly what point you hid from everyone. It could help me.”
“I didn’t realise initially, but then I saw myself in a mirror and realised what happened. It was like a nightmare...”
And we end here with Lefty and Alec hiding out in the garage....

I am Machine: Chapter 4
He completely forgot about Helpy.
And how small he was.
He easily got through the hole like how he did.
“Wow it's both extremely claustrophobic and homey in here,” Helpy stood up, looking around.
He was blocking the only way in or out.
No way to escape now. Helpy had cornered him.
“You know, the hole is going to be repaired soon,” Helpy told him, “And if you chose to stay in here, you'll be sealed away forever.”
“You care why?” Alec had spoke for the first time in a long time, his voice sounded so unfamiliar now, he had forgotten what his voice had sounded like. He didn’t see the need to talk until now.
“Because forever is a really long time!” Helpy exclaimed, “So anyway, I'm Helpy.”
“I've seen on the safety posters around the pizzeria,” Alec nodded.
“Customer safety is very important to us!” Helpy had clapped his hands together, “That's why some of us have particular features! Like Security Puppet stops kids from leaving without their parents! And well.... Lonely Freddy's use to be walking security cameras... But not anymore, because they started to act strangely, but you seem different!”
“That's because I'm not a Lonely Freddy!” Alec shouted at him.
“I don’t understand I'm afraid,” Helpy shook his head, “You can't really claim to be something your not! If you have no good ground for it, you look like a Lonely Freddy, so you must be one??”
Alec heard his voice was practically drowning in confusion, so he spoke, “I heard you and your black bear talking and I remember he mentioned an incident with a Lonely Freddy and a little girl.”
“Oh are you that Lonely Freddy?”
“No I'm not a Lonely Freddy! That happened to me!”
“You're a little girl?” Helpy sounded even more lost than before.
“No! No!” He shouted frustrated Helpy was constantly irrupting before he could really explain, “My name is Alec! I'm not a Lonely Freddy!”
“Oh okay! Alec is a boy's name! I get it!” Helpy nodded eagerly like he won a game.
“I don't think you do Helpy.”
“Then I'll need an explanation then!” Helpy said.
“Your friend talked hypnosis,” Alec had decided he was going to tell Helpy, he seemed friendly enough plus what could he really do? He didn’t look interested in fighting, he looked more like a curious child.
It reminded him of when Hazel was a toddler following him around.
“Lefty! Yes he did!! He's actually a good guy! He may sometimes act weirdly but he's my friend!” Helpy was beaming when he talked about Lefty.
“I was a 15 year old boy, but something happened and Freddy's in my body!”
“Wait, a mind swap.... Like he's in your body and you are in his... A real body swap scenario?” Helpy frowned understanding.
“I guess that’s an basic way to define it,”
“Oh sugar honey ice tea..... Maybe that's why Lefty detected something wrong with them.... He was so insistent that something was amiss but he said he didn’t know what, he described it as feeling like it would steal his soul if he looked it in the eye...” Helpy muttered, “So you are a human really?”
“Yes,” Alec answered.
“Prove it!”
“How am I suppose to prove it?!” He snapped at Helpy.
“Well humans don’t usually look like walking teddy bears. Then again.... Your eyes.... They are green. Freddy’s eyes have always been blue all the way from the 70s to the current day, always blue. The only green eyes in the pizzeria history include the newer variations of Bonnie, the original had pink eye, the first version known as SpringBonnie had purple eyes, kinda creepy..... It's unusual..... Considering what Lefty said and the history we have, this seems plausible you were, well are suppose to be human... There’s a certain amount of creditability to your story,” Helpy answered.
“What history?” Alec asked, as far as he knew, this place seemed as normal as possible, aside from the obvious. However the way Helpy had said “history” sounded like there was something more dark and twisted below the surface.
“Umm too much to explain, we'd be here all night! Now how about we both get outta here before Mike decides to find us, it'll be far more difficult to explain it to him,” Helpy looked around nervously.
“Your friend won't hurt me?”
“No, in fact I think he will want to hear this strange story,” Helpy nodded then turned around and crawled back through the hole, “Come on Alec! We probably shouldn’t let anyone else see you!”
Alec hesitated, Helpy then poked his head through, “Let’s go!”
“Where are we going?” Alec asked.
“Back to my room!”
“You share it with the bear,” Alec said.
“He won’t bite.... In fact I'd be more worried about Chica, she ain't a scared cat but I once saw her smack a rat with a guitar, she's not scared to hit things....” Helpy answered, he pulled his head back as Alec crawled out of the space. Helpy pointed back to the room and they walked away, Alec following Helpy, seeing truly how small the world was, even Helpy was slightly taller than him.
“This is the strangest thing I've ever come across, and that counts the time some awful teenage brute ripped the arm of a Yarg Foxy toy, kids are one thing, I don't hate teenagers, but.... They don’t particularly like me, I was actually kicked across the restaurant once by a teenager. I was actually kicked straight at Freddy who was performing on stage, we both had the wind knocked out of us... Lefty.... He was absolutely furious and started screaming at the teenager asking if he'd like to be thrown into the wall.”
Alec had paid attention and wondered if Helpy was talking about him unless there was another teenager who tore the arm of a Yarg Foxy. As far as he knew, Helpy wouldn’t have seen that happen unless he was quiet enough to see it but to not draw attention to himself being there, meaning he would have by some luck, had to avoid being seen by Alec, Hazel and both of parents, which seemed impossible. Maybe Helpy heard about it, then again, Helpy was small.
Helpy pushed open the bedroom door and they both walked in, Helpy then pushed it closed.
“Must be weird, you can’t reach a lot of door knobs now!” Helpy said making a remark on Alec's situation, Alec turned and noticed something he didn’t see before.
The door had a lock on it.
“Um Helpy, why is there a lock on the door?” He questioned trying to figure out why there was a lock on the door.
“Oh! Um... The lock..... Um.... It's to keep anything bad out. Lefty said something bad happened once when I was asleep...” Helpy sounded really unsure, “I don’t remember what exactly happened but Lefty seemed extremely worried about me for a while and he wouldn’t explain why, we lock the door when we are both asleep, otherwise our door is usually unlocked..... Admittedly.... I've heard... What sounds like some pretty vicious growling coming from outside.... Lefty almost is always paranoid something is outside, he wasn’t that bad until this “Marionette” started speaking to him in his head,” Helpy explained.
“Maybe.... He's just looking out for you..?” Alec suggested.
“Yea! Kinda like an older brother! He's my best friend, I guess he is my older brother.... Hey Alec, as a human, do you have any siblings?”
Alec didn’t expect that question but answered honestly, “I had... A younger sister.”
“What’s your relationship with her like?”
“I don't feel comfortable discussing that,” Alec frowned.
“Oh understandable.... I apologise, I’ve been told I’m not suppose to ask those sort of things, I’m not invasive! I’m curious about you Alec! That’s all! Helpy smiled, “Well.... Lefty'll be back soon.... You wanna do anything?”
“Like what?” Alec asked.
“I can go ask Mike for the tablet and we can watch some videos.”
“I've noticed, you mentioned Mike a few times, who is he?” Alec felt like he wasn’t out of line by asking that.
“Human Owner essentially....” Helpy answered, “He owns this place and does the work at night, apperantly, he's a night owl, he's use to being asleep during the day and awake at night, he's told me it's easier to do work here when it's quiet.”
“Could he help me out...?”
“No probably not, I'll be a minute, just stay here, sit on Lefty's bed until I get back!” Helpy said as he reached for the door knob and turned it, leaving the room and Alec alone.
Alec decided it was okay to wait for him, he climbed up onto Lefty's bed and sat with his back against the wall.
A few minutes passed, Alec tapped his feet together. He wondered when these guys slept, Lefty was performing usually from opening time to closing, which was ten hours on average, and he seemed to be awake between 12:00am and 6:00am, that left only eight hours for anything like sleep.
Alec then swore he heard a strange noise. Like scrapping.
He looked at the door, hearing the scraping from that direction, he then heard a snap and something winced in pain, it was then followed by a quite “ow”.
It wasn’t Lefty or Helpy.
“I can't get in again.” He heard a quiet voice speak.
Silences.
“Yea, yea, shut up I know you're angry again I can't get in! What do you expect?”
Why did it sound like it was having a conversation?
“Quit it. I'll get in eventually, you don't need to break in, otherwise the Puppet'll know we're watching again.”
Silences.
“Good one, yep he is exactly that. Tell our Master I'm coming back home, should be easy to do that.”
That didn’t sound good.
“Hey I brought the tablet!” Helpy opened the door, “Anything you want to watch? Funny videos? We can watch some cartoons! Maybe even a movie!”
“What exactly is there...?” Alec asked as Helpy got up on the bed with the tablet in his hands.
“Well let's see...” Alec watched Helpy open a application with videos listed, he saw a fee movie titles he recognised, he saw a tab that had a list names and numbers:
HELPY'S VIDEOS
230 MOVIES
20 TELEVISION SERIES
SERIES THAT MIKE AND LEFTY WATCH
34 TELEVISION SERIES
STUFF FOR EVERYONE TO WATCH
400 MOVIES
50 TELEVISION SERIES.
“Anything you recommend?” Alec asked him.
Helpy tapped on the list that had his name and the page loaded with video thumbnails and titles.
“Depends! You want a comedy? You want to watch a television series? An animated movie?”
The door opened and Lefty walked in, he locked the door behind him and looked at Alec.
“I see you've made yourself at home,” Lefty said in quite a monotone way, “Would you care to talk now or shall I continue to be suspicious about you?”
“He explained to me Lefty,” Helpy nodded, “Ummm... That girl with Lonely Freddy?”
“I don't really want to talk about it anymore-” Lefty pinched his nose bridge, shaking his head.
“It was a mind swap thing,” Helpy cut him off.
“You know that how....?” Lefty asked, his golden yellow eye glaring at Helpy, he was puzzled about how he could know that and what the concept even was.
“Because me....” Alec spoke.
Lefty frowned, staring at him, he didn’t understand. Then it struck him, this can’t be a Lonely Freddy. “Wait.... No.... No..... NO! God Security!!! Me!!! We failed to keep a kid safe!!” Lefty exclaimed grabbing the sides of his head, shaking, “It explains why I didn’t want to kill you and felt like I needed to hold onto you!! I'm programmed to protect children.... I sense your soul as a child.... That's why!! Oh no! How can I fix this?!?”
“Lefty! You don't need to worry!” Helpy yelled, “Calm down!”
Left crashed onto the bed, completely dazed, the two bears looked at him in confusion.
“I’m a failure to Mr. Emily, how did this slip pass me?” Lefty asked to no one in particular.
“We all missed this!” Helpy shouted, “This isn’t your slip up! It's our! Every animatronic here failed to stop this from happening, we have measures to prevent things like adduction, thief, hostage situations, murders, accidents, injuries... We never had something in place for this sort of thing!” Helpy was pushing his side trying to get him to stand up.
Lefty sat up and looked at Alec, “So you really are..?”
“Alec,” He answered.
“Alec.... Alec.... I need to check that name and find out exactly how long ago this happened to you... We write down every name in a book....”
“We don't need to do anything yet-”
“Helpy have you forgotten there is a rogue Lonely Freddy out there who looks human?!? And we have no idea what it's planning more importantly!!! Lonely Freddy's are the worse sort of unpredictable, you never know where they are and what they're doing! They don't act like the rest of us! They don’t socialise, they’re extremely invasive, and they don’t understand what’s wrong with the way they act!! Dam it Helpy I will not let that thing run free, they are cunning and manipulative! And that's why there's a lock on our door so they don't come in our room ever again!”
Helpy and Alec were silent.
Lefty looked around, realising what he said, his tone soften as he spoke again, “Helpy....”
“The truth Lefty,” Helpy spoke, “Why is that lock on our door? I honestly don’t remember what happened and I don’t know why! I have a great memory! Why won’t you tell me?? Is there something I should be scared of?”
“Helpy no! I will protect you from what’s out there!” Lefty exclaimed, “Human or Animatronic!”
“Lefty has a Lonely Freddy come in our room before? When we were asleep?”
Both looked at him for an answer, even Alec wanted an answer from him.
“I’m not answering that in light of this, it's unimportant,” Lefty shook his head, “However, Alec's problem is extremely serious, he needs to be a priority. He is trapped in a body that isn’t his...... Something tells me this far more serious than anything I'm programmed to do....” Lefty looked at Alec, his look was genuine confusion and concern.
Hope you enjoyed Chapter 4 AKA the Chapter "where it all comes out, Helpy figures it out quickly, Lefty has a mental breakdown and Alec is thinking why is there a lock?"

I am Machine: Chapter 8
One week had passed, Alec noticed Helpy seemed really excited about something.
“What are you jumping about for?” Alec asked him before he started to work.
“August 18th,” He replied, “It’s a great day!”
Alec was confused, did Helpy know...?
“It's the pizzeria's 50th anniversary, a big milestone,” Helpy continued talking, “The first location was opened August 18th 1970. It's also Lefty’s birthday.”
Of course, Helpy wouldn’t know, why did Alec assume?
Wait. Lefty’s birthday was on the 18th of August? He assumed they didn't celebrate anything like Birthdays.
“It’s Lefty’s birthday?”
“Yes, I don't know his real age, I've tried to guess but I never get it right!” Helpy huffed, “And he won't tell me!”
Alec couldn’t help but lightly laugh at that, that sounded like what Lefty would do. Over the last week he learnt a lot about Lefty and Helpy, Helpy did actually sleep talk so Alec saw why on that night Lefty believed he was just sleep talking.
“Hey! When’s your birthday? Mine is February 15th! The day after Valentine’s day! I apparently also share my birthday with some animatronic named Fetch! I never met him but I've seen pictures of Fetch! Of course, it's all old photos, he was made in the 1980s..... I think our history is interesting!”
“My birthday?”
“Yes, you said you're 15 when are turning 16?”
“This is really funny... My birthday is also August 18th....”
“Wow! You share Lefty’s birthday!”
“Well, I'd guess I'm younger than him....” Alec said scratching his nose.
“We can do something for your birthday too! Just because you're a Lonely Freddy now, it doesn’t mean we can't celebrate!”
"I don't know....”
“You only turn 16 once, plus as far as I believe you've never had a birthday here!”
“Well, I honestly don't have a lot of friends to justify it.”
“Why not? You seem like a nice kid,” Helpy said.
“I just... Don't get the chance, I don't talk to people a lot...” That was kind of true, he was notorious for not talking to people unless they started to irritate him, a good thing was the fact he wasn't targeted by bullies but he didn't exactly attract friends, he only had three guys at school who he considered friends.
He was almost certain he shouldn’t tell Helpy about them because they fell into the same crowd as him, so he said: “I use to have a great friend named Oscar but he moved away a couple of years ago after his father died... I've been wondering if I could get in touch with him...”
“Well, that's one of the first things you should do when you go home! Go and contact him! I'm sure he'll want to hear from you!”
When. It was nice Helpy was assuming he would get to go home and resume his life like nothing had happened.
“And hey I'm your friend now! So is Lefty! Lewis could be your friend too!”
“I never thought of that.....” Alec muttered.
“Well, I am! Hey, are you hungry? The pizzeria's closed today so we could go out into the kitchen and maybe we’ll find a pizza for lunch! We just have to watch out for the others and Mr Adams,” Helpy nodded.
“Mr Adams?”
“Our in-store technician, he's working in the back, doing repairs, checking the systems for bugs... We probably won't run into him...” Helpy walked to the door and opened it, Alec followed him outside and they went through the three doors that led them to the backstage area, then outside into the main dining area.
It was quiet.
“Why is it quiet?”
“Mike said some sickness is going around, so we need to start closing a few days a week for now,” Helpy explained, “We’re trialling being closed every second day... Might be good sometimes Lefty gets exhausted particularly on Fridays.”
Helpy and Alec walked around to the kitchen, Helpy looked inside, “Great! No one is here! Let's go!” They both stepped inside.
“Where is everyone?” Alec looked around feeling slightly anxious.
“I know Bonnie's in repair, you know Lefty is deep in research right now, Foxy is probably out the front, Chica is cleaning the party rooms I believe, Freddy is in his room I think, Security might be asleep, The Melodies and Lewis are..... Well, they're not working today so they’re at home today... Hey, we can visit Lewis! His house is close by! We just need to ask Lefty for the key to open the front door! The only thing is that usually, Lefty doesn’t like going out during the day because we could be seen... That's the only condition Mike told us when Lefty was allowed to have the key, he needs to be careful to not be caught outside, and Lefty must always relock the door when he comes back.”
“I see why you can't be caught outside..” Alec nodded knowing the most likely case is if someone saw an 8-foot-tall black bear outside the pizzeria, they would call the police.
Helpy walked over to the fridge, “Oh yes! There's still some leftover pizza dough that Lefty made! Lefty always makes the best pizza! We can put whatever we want on it!” Helpy pulled it out and walked to the kitchen island, no surprise there were steps on the side, so he was able to place it on the bench.
“Do you want anything interesting? I once made a dessert pizza and it was amazing.”
“A dessert pizza?” Alec rose his eyebrow.
“Chocolate and Marshmallows,” Helpy answered.
“Oh....”
“Let’s just have a plain cheese with some oregano...”
“Sounds good!”
Helpy had gathered everything except the oregano.
“I don't understand! It’s supposed to be here with the pepper and chilli powder!” Helpy was frustrated as he looked in the cabinets, he then groaned, “I really don't want to disturb Lefty unless I really need to... Maybe somebody misplaced it?”
Alec and Helpy looked in every cabinet, essentially they worked as a team, searching every place where it could be.
“Oh no don't tell me Pigpatch did it again....” Helpy groaned then stood on his tiptoes.
“Yup, he put the freaking Oregano on top of the fridge again! He knows I can't reach it without asking somebody! He's done it to deliberately annoy me!!”
“I’ve climbed on the fridge before, I can get it...” Alec nodded.
“Sure? Just don't fall... It's not a big fall to a human but to someone as small as you are now, you could break something,” Helpy said.
Alec had climbed into the bench next to the fridge, he used the container of flour next to it as a platform to get closer, he then jumped up and grabbed the edge. Pulling himself up to the top.
“Good job! I wouldn’t have thought to do that!” Helpy nodded.
Alec smiled, then he heard the door open, and looked, his heart dropped, he backed away so he wasn’t seen.
“Who are you talking to?”
“Oh just myself Bonnie!!” Helpy exclaimed, “I’m just saying I did a good job to solve a problem that’s been bugging me!”
“Good for you! Are you making pizza for lunch?”
“Yes, I'm giving some to Lefty.”
“Do you know what's going on with him? He's acting more jumpy than usual, and he was carrying around the book where we keep the names of all the people who visit, he keeps going into his room saying he's got a bad headache or feels sick or something... And Foxy keeps talking about how Lefty has the missing Lonely Freddy in his possession. That's not right, right? He hates them, he use to say they were Nosy, Foxy's saying Lefty is keeping one like as a pet or an experiment,” Bonnie replied.
They noticed Lefty was acting differently.
“No, I don't know...” Helpy lied immediately.
“Something isn't right here, Lefty only does practice at night then says goodnight and leaves... He's been doing it for about a week now...” Bonnie nodded, “Hey don't you usually have oregano?”
“I think Petey put on the fridge to be a jerk to me. I was debating if I should try and climb up there myself.”
“You could hurt yourself, let me grab it...” Bonnie's hand was in Alec's vision and he panicked, he couldn’t get down because Bonnie could catch him and as far as Alec knew, Lefty hadn’t told the others that he existed.
“Oh no! I'll get a chair don't trouble yourself!!!” Helpy exclaimed knowing Alec was in danger of being found.
“No, it doesn’t bother me! I don't want you to hurt yourself if you do it wrong!”
“Bonnie, I can ask Lefty! You just got repaired, go rest!”
Bonnie grabbed Alec's foot, “What's this?”
Alec tried to pull his foot away but Bonnie’s grip was stronger than he expected.
“Bonnie leave it! I can solve this for myself!”
“I got something strange!” Bonnie pulled Alec forward, he froze in terror.
"Bonnie no!!!”
He released him but it was too late.
