Verdant au!

Here are two short snippets from my Verdant au! (aka druid Scar, dragon guardian of the forest Grian, and nature spirit Mumbo). ~

“Okay, I’ll admit… this is getting a little out of hand.” Scar glances over the assortment of junk spread out on his front porch with a sort of helpless confusion. What is he meant to do with all of this?

There’s a small pile of colorful glass shards glinting in the morning sun, a shell, several dried flowers, a long stick, a few pretty feathers, twelve shoots of bamboo, a shiny polished bone, a single piece of lapis, three apples (two of which have bites in them), and what looks like a freshly skinned rabbit pelt. From the edge of the forest, Mumbo gives a self-satisfied “hm!” and wanders over to peer over Scar’s shoulder.

“You realize what this means, don’t you?” He asks the druid, who’s kneeling to poke through the garbage. “He’s accepted you as one of ours. He likes you and is trying to provide for you.”

“The only thing he’s providing is stuff to throw in the trash can,” Scar says, more bewildered than unkind. From the roof above the two of them hear an affronted gasp.

“Hey! That stuff is not trash!” Grian swoops down from where he’s perched, talons scrabbling along the tiles and scaly wings spread wide. He lands on the mailbox and pouts at Scar. “Don’t you like my gifts? Shiny treasures?”

Scar glances down at the pile, then back up at the tiny dragon-hybrid. “G, there’s a dead rabbit here.”

Grian’s cheeks puff out like a pufferfish. “It was eating your apples!” He says defensively. “Ugh, whatever, it’s fine.” He shifts into his smaller dragon form and climbs onto Mumbo’s shoulder, curling up around his neck with a huff. The tall forest spirit simply sighs and reaches up to stroke his back fondly, like a cat.

Feeling like it’s probably not a good idea to upset the dragon protector of the forest he’s living in, especially since he’s only just been accepted, Scar gingerly picks up the twelve bamboo and places them in one of his robe pockets. “I appreciate the thought, Grian.” The tiny dragon merely blinks one eye at him. He’s acting aloof, but Scar can tell he’s pleased. ~

Leaning over, Grian swiftly bites off one of the leaves growing from Mumbo’s shoulders, to which the other yelps. “Hey! What was that for?” The man asks, baffled.

The dragon noms on it unapologetically, then reverts back to his human form, with his arms around Mumbo’s neck as though he’s being carried piggy-back. “Wondered if you taste like veggies,” comes his mumbled response.

For your brand new Tarzan!DS AU, in regards to 'Also, baby BABY verdant William and jack can fit somewhere in there,' please consider: William is Wilson's Jane, except they are both very small so it's more a kindergarden crush than a whirlwind romance. They're here with their parents and their caretaker (aka, Wendy).

My original idea was different and has nothing to do with Tarzan so here it goes

For some reason (maybe a cheetah...) Baby Wilson is alone in the forest The spiders found him and they're like... This... isn't right. So they bring him to Webber, the protector/warrior of the forest or something Webber's paternal instinct kicks in HARD and adopts Wilson And like, it's the only opportunity for him to raise a child on his own so he does it in the... Most civilized way he can

He refines clothing, sends spiders to the nearest village to steal books and teaches Wilson everything he can as if he was any other kid. He does all of that to try to... be human again. Almost desperately trying to get back to what he lost when he became "Webber"

Wendy's a fairy (forgot to add the wings lol) and she raises William who's the spirit of said forest or whatever Abigail and Jack? uhh... Death? And that causes... Corruption or some kind of infection in nature cuz there's the other forest spirit missing so Wendy has to handle that, losing her family and raise William to be a good guardian or whatever

Maybe humans were the responsable so she hates them and doesn't like Webber for taking Wilson. But Wilson is William's best friend and it's best to keep them together so William can fulfill the charge and take care of them and the forest...

Maybe the codex is the responsible of Webber's transformation. He trows it and goes missing For some reason Wendy finds it Wendy and William arrive to the forest because of the codex... Maybe she wants to get the sister back? idk They're not a treat so they're mostly chilled after Wilson accidentally reveals to William until Webber sees Wendy has the codex and... idk, that's what I got

soooo, yeah... Sometimes my head comes up with ideas and sometimes I draw those ideas. AND sometimes I spend 2 days drawing 3 different pieces because of those ideas They make pretty drawings in my opinion so I'll let it be

I love the idea of Wickerbottom being a motherly (or grand motherly lol) figure to Wurt 🥺❤️

AU information under the cut👇

Wickerbottom is King Maxwell’s advisor and most trusted companion. She is one of the few citizens of the kingdom that has mastered magic. Her main goal is to tutor Wendy like she had with Maxwell when he was a fresher king.

Wickerbottom is hundreds of years old and was appointed as an advisor by Maxwell and Jack’s father.

There are rumors of a terrifying dragon living in the lake deep into the forest. Maxwell believes this dragon could be a helpful ally for his kingdom. He entrusted Wickerbottom to make a deal with the dragon and teach it the ways of their kingdom so they could use its power.

However, the dragon wasn’t fearsome at all. She was just a baby abandoned in the lake by her parents. Wickerbottom relayed this information to the King who told her to raise the dragon to become fearsome and powerful for the kingdom.

Wickerbottom did as she was told but slowly began to see Wurt as her own—She never had any children herself. She would teach Wurt how to read and write and attempted to teach her magic.

That’s where I’ll leave their story X) it’ll continue in either written or comic form depending on how I’m feeling >:)

Emma and Scott in an ice dance pose because they are figure skaters in this picture.
