Funguary week 4 and last! hosted by @feefal.

In the end I chose an unspecified "magic" mushroom, I used the photo at the bottom of the picture as inspiration.

Even now, I was inspired by the Czech language, a little. In Czech, we call these mushrooms Lysohlávky, which can be loosely translated into English as bald heads.

That's why the figure has a scarf on his head. Since it is "dark" color, it can be assumed that it is an older specimen, but other parts of its body do not indicate this.

The character smokes, releasing a specific smell into his surroundings, which makes these mushrooms "famous". They are easy to recognize by their smell, other mushrooms do not smell like that.

The inscription on her dress/t-shirt can be popularly translated into Czech as smaženice, from which the word smažka can be easily derived, which is sometimes loosely used as a slang term for drug addicts. - Yes, I get it, I'm building a  bridge of asses, but I thought it was funny…

You can also see some blue bruises on her body. Except for a few species, these mushrooms turn blue when injured.

Last but not least, these mushrooms are known primarily for the hallucinogenic effects of most of their species. Hence the drug allusions and the creepy eyes appearing out of nowhere.

PS: Only after processing did I realize that it would be best if the smoke moved as well, but I can't do that anymore. Maybe I'll redo it again sometime. My first if about animation in procreate. Yeah!

The first HWTF is done! These are just mini comics that tackle offscreen events, small questions about the world, and other junk. Everything I make has a little section dedicated to this side stuff on my official site, but I haven’t even started my other projects development wise so they’re empty…except for HWTF now! Yahoo!

Today’s comic is just a warm up for getting back into comic creating and experimenting with new styles, taking notes from my peers inspired by the same things I am and dropping the hatching for more line based shading. Here are some close ups since the expressions were the best part of drawing the comic and reading it over.

This Lemon and Thyme Peach Cake Bread … Thing … I made today? Absolutely worth all the hassle (yes, even the hassle of deep cleaning the kitchen). It came out so fragrant, and so flavorful. And the combination of flavors themselves are so interesting, too! I love it.

Definitely the best bit of Kitchen Witchery I've done in a long while- even if I'm still a little awkward at compiling prayers and blessings in "the new system" in the moment at the moment. But practice makes perfect on several fronts, right?
