SUMMARY:

Bio-warfare has rendered the world’s population infertile and struggling against the onslaught of walking dead. Those that survived are split into two separate factions - the Elite scientists at Sanctuary, and the untamed “Mongrels” squatting in the Slums.

In the midst of the chaos, a new breed of superhumans were cloned and bred. Their purpose - to protect Sanctuary against the zombie apocalypse and wipe out the unruly rebels in the Slums. They called the movement Project Angel, and it was led by the enigmatic soldier Castiel - “father” of all Angels.

The Slum launched their efforts to push the Angels away from their borders. They were led by a certain Dean Winchester - rogue enforcer who once served Sanctuary. With Castiel finally captured and imprisoned in the Slums, Dean struggles to rebuild his city and rally his people for the fight against Sanctuary - as well as his growing attraction to the Angel with blue eyes.

Damp and decay permeated the air as the inhabitants of the land wandered aimlessly through the empty streets and crumbling buildings. It was quiet for the moment as the Sun began its slow descent in the horizon. The shadows that formed sprawled across the ground - solemn and resolute like sentinels that once stood guard at the crossroads that separated Sanctuary and the Slums. 

Now there was nothing but walls standing between the two cities, the two warring factions muzzled and furiously repelled back into the safety of their borders by a disease that turned the dead into living monsters.

It seemed an elegant solution at the time. As the world imploded and scrambled for the last remaining fertile land, struggling to gain control of the last drop of fossil fuel, everyone - man, woman, child, and beast -  watched as the skies lit up with the fires of their own folly. Then the bomb dropped, right in the middle of each major city across the globe, spreading its toxic fumes that left a majority of Earth’s population sterile, sick or dying. Those that died - well, they did not stay dead and rose to chew and gnaw at those that could not escape. The entire world screamed its pain, its voice deafening before plunging into a sick silence, defeated. 

No one knew who created this mutated strain of virus - only that the price paid was too high. Life itself screeched into standstill as nations and their petty politicians collapsed in the face of a new world - impotent and helpless. A new world. A darker world. A world so hungry it would rip apart its own flesh to feed itself. 

It was this world that burned its existence into Dean Winchester’s mind as he stood within the white, clinically clean walls of the laboratory, his green eyes watching the scientists working feverishly for a cure.

Midoriya Izuku, AKA Dekiru, is just an internet reviewer that focuses on bad American comic books and terrible manga. Except he's not just that: he's also the Champion of Earth, the world's first line of defense against interdimensional threats. Together with his friends, he defeats eldritch gods of technology, creates memes, and harps on awful content.

Other details of the AU:

Superheroes and Quirks don't exist. Dekiru and his friends got their powers through exposure to bad media.

Inko and Toshinori often cameo on Dekiru's videos.

Aizawa Shouta, Code Name Eraserhead, is a former secret agent who lost both his partners in the field while he could do nothing but watch. He fell into a downward spiral until he was found wandering the streets by Izuku. He's lived with the kid ever since.

Kaminari Denki, AKA Pikachu, is Izuku's obnoxious roommate who's always trying to make it big as a youtuber without much success. He's smarter than he lets on, however, and he's a mechanical whiz. Later on he tries to change his nickname to Raichu, but everyone just keeps calling him Pikachu.

Hatsume Mei, AKA Dr. Mei, is a mad scientist who initially wanted to conquer the world and only teamed up with Dekiru to defeat Overhaul. But then they slowly became friends and she decided to work for the side of good.

Shouji Mezou is a ninja/professional dancer who never speaks but always ends up in trouble somehow. He lives with Izuku but is often on tour.

Takami Keigo, Code Name Hawks, is a government agent and spy, and Dekiru's liaison with the Japanese government. They're good friends despite the age difference, but for a long time neither trusted the other completely.

Shinsou Hitoshi, AKA Hitoshinsou, reviews bad horror movies with an absolutely dry sense of humour and plenty of fourth wall breaking. Best friends with Asui. Loves cats.

Asui Tsuyu, AKA Viridis Ranae, reviews bizarre low-budget movies with a peppy attitude and an equally bizarre sense of humor. Best friends with Shinsou. Also loves cats.

Kirishima Eijirou, AKA Manly Kiri, reviews video games across the whole spectrum of quality. He's very passionate about it, and the better a game is, the manlier he considers it.

Sero Hanta, AKA Sero, reviews weird news from across Japan, and sometimes outside of it as well. He considers himself a bit of an oddball among his friends, as he doesn't have special powers and doesn't go on adventures often. Easily the most grounded of the bunch. He eventually moves in with Dekiru after Izuku accidentally destroys his house.

Todoroki Shouto, AKA Icy-Hot, reviews mind-screwy, psychological movies with many layers of meaning. He is savvy both in academic culture and media analysis, and memes and conspiracy theories. Fans are split on whether his aloof, socially awkward self is a persona or his actual personality.

Uraraka Ochako, AKA SpaceGurl, reviews a lot of things, but mostly anime, manga and video games. She's a great dancer, and an even greater warrior. She owns a katana or two. She's yet to make a collab with Shouji, but keeps inviting him anyway. Dekiru's best friend and ally.

Aoyama Yuuga, AKA Yuuga-Oh!, is a flamboyant reviewer from another universe, who focuses on antiques and magical objects. Loves everything sparkly. He become a close friend of Dekiru, but eventually betrays him at thd behest of Midoriya Hisashi, Izuku's disappeared biological father, who knew the boy would become the defender of Earth and wanted to kill him at the peak of his power so he could finally conquer the world. Yuuga, who was raised by Hisashi in another dimension, ultimately double-crosses him and helps Dekiru defeat him.

Ojiro Mashirao is a Champion of an alternate Earth at war, who had to leave his world to collect magical weapons so he could arm the resistance. He's a great martial artist, but not a good conversationalist. He's initially stuck in Dekiru's universe with no way home, but he's eventually rescued by his girlfriend Tooru, the leader of his home world's resistance.

Tokoyami Fumikage, AKA Tsukuyomi, is a bird-headed demon who escaped from Hell and hid in Dekiru's apartment, tormenting him without meaning to. Once he and his 'twin', the spirit Dark Shadow, are discovered, they are granted official asylum in Dekiru's universe. Inspired by Izuku, they also become internet reviewers, with a focus on horror manga, comics, anime and movies.

Eri is the spirit of a little girl who was sacrificed so her blood and her hatred could be weaponized by an eldritch deity. She inhabits Dekiru's magic gun. She sees Izuku as her big brother, and develops a close bond with Aizawa, of all people.

Thank you so much for the ask!! :) I love talking about Viri. :) 1. What's their full name? Why was that chosen? Does it mean anything?  Viridana Revarre Dragoi.  Viridana means 'green,' ie, the Latin 'Viridi.' If you see an animal named Viridana _____, that animal is likely green. Like the Viridana tortix, which is a green moth.  There is a real name that is found in a lot of Spanish-speaking countries, Viridiana, which is derived from the same root of Viridi, but that is not Viri's name. She specifically has the one found in science. There's a part in An Open Affinity where Viri mentions she's lucky her parents didn't name her 'Oxygen' or 'Sleen' or something. She wasn't kidding. They were both scientists, and while they weren't as eccentric as, say, Talos Drelik, they were very enthusiastic about their work. They totally would have named a child after an element or an animal or something and not thought anything about it. 

Revarre is Viri's father's surname. He's from Naboo, so I was trying for something that had the same flavor as other Naboo names I've seen, like Nabierre.  Dragoi is Viri's mother's surname (that's right, she has her mother's last name, and that IS deliberate. And neither of Viri's parents took the other's name when they married). It's a Romanian surname IRL, and it just...came out of nowhere. As soon as she was Viri, she was Viridana Dragoi. It was her name and she just told me what it was. 

13. What is their least favorite food?  Any type of meat would probably fit here, because she doesn't eat meat. She also hates peppers and WILL pick them out of her food.  38. Viri admires qualities like confidence, intelligence, humor, compassion, loyalty, courage and strength in others. Viri wishes she was more creative. People who don't know Viri are afraid of her. When Viri was the Wrath and an apprentice, most people who didn't talk to her thought she was some kind of monstrous killing machine. Viri did a lot of good during those years, but she did it quietly, without fanfare, and thus, people usually only knew that she'd just taken out an entire regiment or killed a powerful Jedi or whatnot. People were extremely afraid of her, and the usual response when she walked into a room was to back up.  And for what it's worth, she has cultivated that public image so people won't fuck with her.  Now as the Commander/Peacekeeper, she's on camera a lot and people have seen more about who she really is, but there's still an undercurrent of fear a lot of the time, or at the very least, a knowledge that Viri is extremely dangerous. People who work with Viri generally like and respect her a lot, and see her as firm, fair, extremely smart and savvy. She is a good boss, and she respects her allies and colleagues. If she has a battalion of 100 troopers she will learn everyone's name. She tries to make sure everyone who works with/for her is very well taken care of.  People who know Viri very well see her as extremely smart, affectionate, loyal, secretly very vulnerable, and sensitive, but extremely frightening when she's got Wrath mode activated. They worry a lot about her when she's working, particularly Lana. Viri sees herself as smart, powerful, and shrewd, but secretly she has a lot of doubts and always worries everyone's about to leave her. 50.
