A potenial issue with the new voltron movie is s ship war between kallura vs allurance as both are the cannon ships of the franchise. Both ships also seem to be the two with still dedicated fanbases. My guess is the movie will go with kallura to distiance itself from VLD and WEP do seem to have kallura as their OTP. What are your thoughts on this.

This will become clearer when (and if) the film is ever cast. Still, the directives from everyone so far when they've discussed the film is "Legendary Defender never happened, it doesn't exist, and we are going through great pains to ignore its existence."

Lance might have had a chance at a romantic arc had VLD not existed and made the pairing radioactive. I could see an active competition between the two for the blonde space princess (that Keith wins) or trying to milk Lance's drama from other factors, like how in the original series his family died and his going to space was part of his efforts to cope with it. The Dynamite comics, as subpar as they were, played with the idea of a love triangle but it was poorly executed. Then again, those same comics showed Keith and Allura having sex, and if Transformers has taught us anything, sex/aggressive making out to celebrate victory is something directors find to be a satisfying end to an arc for surviving near death.

Which iterations of Kallura are your favorites?

That's a tough choice... Really depends on my mood. If I want some bittersweet pain or just pure angst then VLD. If I want something where they are comforting one another then a either VLD or Voltron Force 2011. If I want something innocent like simple snuggles without the struggles then Voltron Defender of the Universe.

They all have different dynamics to them yet they stay the same throughout the years even in the comics, especially the similarities between VLD and the daredevils comics where Keith sees himself not worthy of Allura while she thinks the opposite. I write comfortably in VLD because it's the first I watched but reading and writing all the other iterations are so fun to see the differences and similarities.
