Paste Magazine prematurely posted a review for 'This Is Why', they deleted it, but someone from reddit retrieved. here it is:
# This Is Why Is a Highlight Reel for Paramore's Many Eras. by Grant Sharples [@grantsharpies](https://twitter.com/grantsharpies)
Paramore is one of the few bands of their era that has withstood the test of time. Many of their fellow Warped Tour-adjacent compatriots dealt out heavy doses of misogyny, a defect that frontwoman Hayley Williams herself has acknowledged and expunged from the band’s music. Even within their own camp, they endured a homophobic guitarist and antagonistic bassist, the latter of whom departed the band twice and was inexplicably removed from the band’s 2013 album artwork last year.
*This Is Why*, the group’s sixth album, is the first in their catalog to feature the same lineup as its predecessor. Paramore has been through a veritable shitstorm, and they’ve emerged with a stronger resolve, steeling against whatever life throws at them with a hardened exterior.
“After 15 to 20 years of fighting like a bunch of brats in front of the world, you eventually learn some coping skills and communication methods,” Williams told *The Guardian* last fall. Now, the pop-punk powerhouse comprises three people: Williams, guitarist Taylor York, and drummer Zac Farro. Despite Paramore’s shifting lineups and disparate stylings across their discography, their influence on music writ large is palpable: from the hooky panache of Meet Me @ the Altar to the earnest songwriting of Olivia Rodrigo; from the iconoclastic pop of Billie Eilish to the plaintive belt-a-longs of Julien Baker. The Tennesseeans’ blueprint reigns supreme, so much so that Williams and ex-guitarist Josh Farro got a writing credit on Rodrigo’s “good 4 u.”
There’s no doubt that Paramore’s appeal reaches far and wide; they’re playing basketball arenas now, after all. It’s that cultural ubiquity that’s yielded them stages this big, yet it’s also due to their multifarious approach to art. *This Is Why* captures that interdisciplinary spirit with cohesion and flair.
***The title track*** kicks things off on a stunning note, playing like a blend of Williams’s 2020 solo album *Petals for Armor* and the groovy rhythms of 2017’s *After Laughter*, minus that album’s neon sheen.
***“The News”*** harnesses the punchy verve that makes for some of the best *brand new eyes* cuts, albeit Carlos de la Garza’s production feels abnormally thin, diluting what could’ve been acerbic and menacing.
But that misstep is compensated for immediately after: ***“Running out of Time,”*** like the title track, strikes a balance between atmospheric textures and syncopated buoyancy that is, simply put, really fucking fun. *This Is Why*, as its first three tracks show, accomplishes a feat that connects the band’s diverging sonic pathways without succumbing to whiplash. It encapsulates Paramore’s voyages into piercing pop-punk, glossy New Wave, heartfelt ballads and anthemic paeans.
Some of the record’s best moments encompass an amalgamation of these eras. ***“C’est Comme Ca”*** could’ve been an *After Laughter* single had that record contained more of a pronounced grittiness and Strokes-esque guitar tones. Hearing Williams try her hand at spoken-word verses is a total delight, too. But the song’s most affecting moment comes toward its sung bridge, with Williams’ soprano gradually unfolding into a shout: “I hate to admit getting better is boring/But the high cost of chaos, who can afford it?”
On the penultimate track, ***“Crave,”*** York’s guitar work summons the twinkling emo of their *Twilight* songs like “Decode” and “I Caught Myself” while Williams’s voice soars above the chorus, howling the song’s title and longing for simplicity.
She keeps up the momentum on the closer, ***“Thick Skull,”*** evincing her wide vocal range, shifting from a subdued lower register in the verses until she unfurls into her signature emo burst in the final chorus à la fan favorite “All I Wanted.” This concluding one-two punch marks the strongest run on the album.
However, *This Is Why* sags ever so slightly in the middle, namely due to the mawkish whims of its centerpiece, ***“Big Man, Little Dignity.”*** Though thematically potent and containing one of the record’s best lines (“You keep your head high / Smooth operator in a shit-stained suit”), its lukewarm instrumentation, evoking alt-radio fodder like Young the Giant and Walk the Moon, hinders its potential. There’s also the fact that Paramore makes little use of one of its greatest assets as a band: pure intensity. Occasionally, the trio reins themselves in for arrangements that signal hushed tastefulness, whereas catchy catharsis is what this band is known for.
Still, it’s not like they haven’t shown they can write compelling softer material, as songs like “Misguided Ghosts” and “26” demonstrate. Yet this album’s muted breaks leave little impact compared to the immediacy that’s been a major draw for revisiting Paramore’s work. Albums like *After Laughter* and *brand new eyes* were also punctuated with infectious adrenaline rushes, which Paramore does like no one else; *This Is Why* has fewer instances of drastic sonic contrast, lending it coherence and mild inertia all the same.
But the album revives itself with ***“You First,”*** an instant highlight that merges indie-rock and pop-punk in equal measure. “Turns out I’m living in a horror film where / I’m both the killer and the final girl,” Williams sings over Farro’s pummeling percussion and York’s discordant, post-punk guitar.
Throughout each of its 10 tracks, Williams navigates fatalism and a world where war, disease and climate change run amok. Whether she’s hiding from the public eye on “This Is Why,” lamenting the pervasiveness of a 24-hour news cycle on ***“The News,”*** or roasting chauvinists on ***“Big Man, Little Dignity,”*** Williams once again proves herself a formidable writer, and York and Farro are there to lend their craftsmanship to yet another captivating record.
After the seemingly endless volatility this band has weathered, it’s a miracle that they exist, still making incredible music. Here, they sound self-assured and steady, like a group that understands what they have and makes the most of it. On *This Is Why*, Paramore have found land after a years-long trip at sea, grounding their ship and claiming all the accolades they’ve accrued in their time away. They deserve them all.
**6.5/10**

Japan's All-Female Metal Band LOVEBITES Returns With New Bassist And 'Judgement Day' Music Video
Tumblr media
LOVEBITES, the all-female heavy metal band from Tokyo, Japan, has returned from its hiatus with a new member, a new music video and news of a fourth studio album coming in February 2023. The LP is also available to preorder today from JPU Records, and is available physically in three editions.
"Judgement Day", the fittingly titled album, will be the first to feature the band's new lineup, which includes bassist Fami, who was selected after an audition process and is just 20 years of age. The fast, melodic and heavy metal sound that LOVEBITES has excelled at since its debut is still burning strong, but has been sublimated further. Newcomer Fami also brings an added charm to the quintet, including her signature slap technique. The album contains ten completely new songs, mixed and mastered by Finnish masterminds Mikko Karmila and Mika Jussila, who have worked on all of the band's studio albums.
Fans can get a taste of the new LOVEBITES today with the release of the digital single and music video to the album's title track, available to download, stream and watch now.
The cover art for the album features a wolf, an incarnation of the band that has appeared on all of LOVEBITES's previous albums. This time, as the title suggests ("Judgement Day"),the wolf clutches scales that weigh good and evil within its jaws, and is captured sprinting between the sun and the moon. Further meaning from the cover art can be discovered in the title track's music video, and further details will likely be revealed in the future too.
"Judgement Day" will be released digitally worldwide on February 22, 2023, and released on CD from JPU Records from February 24, 2023. A video-on-demand and CD bundle is also available directly from JPU Records' web site. It features a documentary of the bassist auditions which includes interviews with the members of the band, as well as Fami while she was still one of the finalists — all with English subtitles. It also includes four studio sessions; "The Hammer Of Wrath", "Golden Destination" and "Shadowmaker" from the audition finals, and "Bravehearted", the first session with Fami as an official member of LOVEBITES. There is also a third edition that includes the CD, the video on demand content and a "Judgement Day" t-shirt. Additionally, 50 orders of this latter bundle will randomly receive a sleeve case that has been signed by the members of the band.
"Judgement Day" track listing:
01. We Are The Resurrection 02. Judgement Day 03. The Spirit Lives On 04. Wicked Witch 05. Stand And Deliver (Shoot 'Em Down) 06. Victim Of Time 07. My Orion 08. Lost In The Garden 09. Dissonance 10. Soldier Stands Solitarily

LOVEBITES formed in 2016 with vocalist Asami, guitarists Midori and Miyako, bassist Miho and drummer Haruna. The band's EP "The Lovebites" EP was mixed by Mikko Karmila and mastered by Mika Jussila, a team of talented Finnish engineers known for their work with NIGHTWISH, CHILDREN OF BODOM and AMORPHIS. In May 2017 LOVEBITES made their debut and released "The Lovebites" EP through London's JPU Records, followed by full length album "Awakening From Abyss" in October 2017 and had a series of shows in Japan and the U.K.
In 2018 LOVEBITES made their first festival appearance at Vans Warped Tour Japan 2018, as well as a headline show in June for mini album "Battle Against Damnation". In July they participated in Headstrong Fes.18 organized by ANTHEM, followed by performing at the world's biggest metal festival Wacken Open Air in Germany and Bloodstock Open Air in the U.K. They also toured Europe with X-ray Touring. After returning to Japan, LOVEBITES completed their second album "Clockwork Immortality" by the end of the year, and performed at Metal Mania, which also featured LOUDNESS.
LOVEBITES began 2019 by touring Japan, followed by supporting ARCH ENEMY on tour in China. First live album "Daughters Of The Dawn: Live In Tokyo 2019" was released in July, recorded at Mynabi Blitz Akasaka in Tokyo in support of "Clockwork Immortality". The same month the band toured festivals, including Download Festival in the U.K., Graspop Metal Meeting in Belgium, and Download Festival Madrid in Spain. At Download Festival in the U.K., Asami joined HALESTORM on stage to sing "Love Bites (And So Do I)", the song that gave LOVEBITES their name. When the band returned to Japan they toured Tokyo, Nagoya and Osaka before appearing at Summer Sonic 2019. They then joined DRAGONFORCE for their U.K. tour in November as special guests.
In January 2020, the band released third album "Electric Pentagram". It became the band's first album to enter Japan's Oricon Top 10 rankings, peaking at number nine. The band then kicked off tour of Japan in February and released "Five Of A Kind: Live In Tokyo 2020" in July, recorded at Zepp DiverCity, which reached number one in the Oricon Music Blu-ray chart.
In March 2021 they released mini album "Glory, Glory, To The World", which reached No. 10 in the Billboard general chart. Immediately afterwards the band began the "Ride For Vengeance" tour 2021, touring four cities across Japan. In August Miho left the band and it was announced that LOVEBITES would take a break. In the meantime, "Heavy Metal Never Dies – Live In Tokyo 2021" was released in the U.K. as a CD and video on-demand release, featuring the Tokyo show from the "Ride For Vengeance" tour 2021, followed by best album "In The Beginning: The Best Of 2017-2021".
In April 2022, the band held an audition for all nationalities, ages, and genders worldwide to find a new bassist. After a long selection process, fami joined in October of the same year, leading to LOVEBITES once again being composed of five members.

The Remade in Misery Tour PT 2 feat Memphis May Fire, Norma Jean, SECRETS, and SAUL
Back on May 2022, Memphis May Fire announced that they would be going on The Remade in Misery Tour with support from Ashes to New, Rain City Drive, and Wolves at The Gate. I was super excited to hear that the band would be dropping a new album before they had even started the first leg of this tour. This tour is actually named after their latest album Remade In Misery. I was initially bummed that, there wasn’t a date coming to a city near me. But earlier this year that all changed when they announced that they would be doing a second leg of this tour with support from Norma Jean, SECRETS and SAUL. One of the stops happened to be at The L, located in Horseheads New York. The last time we got to cover Memphis May Fire was at Vans Warped Tour in 2017. I cannot wait to see what these bands have in store for the fans during the second leg of the tour.
Saul is an American rock band from Iowa, they formed back in 2007. The band was initially started by two brothers Blake and Zach Bedsaul, originally called Sequoia which was just a cover band. Saul has 3 EPs and 2 Studio Albums. The band teased the release of their latest album by dropping a single called “A Million Miles”. Keep an eye out for some new music. This Is It...The End of Everything is their new album which drops July 28th. Saul also gained popularity in 2019 on SXM Octane which features their song “Brother”, which talks about the loss of a brother and the coping process. The band also collaborated with David Draiman on their song “King Of Misery.” I had never heard of Saul before this show. I’m glad that we were able to catch their set. I’ll be adding some of their songs to my playlists.
Secrets is a post-hardcore band that formed in California back in 2010; they also went through quite a few band members. The band started out their career strong, within a year of being formed the band was signed to Rise Records. Two of their albums The Ascent & Fragile Figures hit the top 200 Billboard Charts. The current lineup comprises of Richard Rogers, Wade Walters, Connor Branigan, and Connor Allen. To date, they have released 5 studio albums and 1 EP. Their latest album The Collapse covers topics on anxiety, depression, hope, and loss. This album was written pre-pandemic and also during the pandemic. The song "Fade Away" focuses on losing a loved one and pays tribute to Aaron Melzer. When the band stepped foot on stage, I got super excited and was ready for their performance to rock the house.
Norma Jean is a metalcore band from Georgia. The band has gone through numerous line-up changes since the band formed back in 1997 under the name Luti-Kriss, currently, there isn’t a single original member in the band. But that didn’t stop Norma Jean from dropping nine studio albums and receiving a Grammy Award nomination in 2006 for their second album O' God, the Aftermath. A remarkable fact about Norma Jean is that the band’s name actually originates from Marilyn Monroe since her real name was Norma Jeane Mortensen. In an interview with previous drummer Daniel Davidson, he stated that they also decided on that name because they “were looking at a book” and saw that “Norma meant pattern and Jean meant God's grace and mercy” So when you put it all together it creates, patterns of grace and mercy. When it was their time to perform, the crowd went wild. The band played a variety of songs, old songs like “I Used to Hate Cell Phones But Now I Hate Car Accidents” and newer songs off their record Deathrattle Sing For Me which was released last year. The fans kept crowd surfing back to back, eventually, the band wanted to step it up a notch, having fans open up a giant circle pit. Cory Brandan (lead singer) jumped off the stage onto the barricades at one point to get closer to the fans and sing their songs together. I absolutely loved their stage presence; each member used every ounce of their being to make sure this was an amazing performance during this tour stop.
Memphis May Fire is an American metalcore band that formed in Texas back in 2006. Since its formation, the band has released two EPs and seven full-length albums, the latest being Remade In Misery which was released in June 2022. The band has had some awesome accomplishments in their career. The band was nominated for the Artist Philanthropic Award in 2014, they also had their song “Ghost In The Mirror” from the album Sleepwalking in Saw VI. The current members are Kellen McGregor, Matty Mullins, Cory Elder, and Jake Garland. Before Memphis May Fire even set foot on the stage, you could feel that the energy in the air was even more special. It was extra special because it was also Matty Mullins’ birthday. Between songs, he said to the fans that they had set the bar high for the rest of this tour and that got the crowd even more excited for the rest of their performance. Before the other photographers and I were able to leave the pit, there was a crazy amount of crowd surfers showing out all their love for Memphis May Fire. The band also played a wide variety of songs ranging from their album The Hollow to their most recent album Remade In Misery.
Setlist:
“Blood & Water”
“Left for Dead”
“Bleed Me Dry”
“Somebody”
“The American Dream”
“Alive in the Lights”
“Heavy Is the Weight”
“Miles Away”
“Vices”

thoughts on when we were young festival
when we were young festival is the festival of every emo kid’s dreams. isn’t it? i, like every other kid, lost my damn mind when i saw the lineup. i didn’t think it was real until altpress reposted it. it’s like a resurrection of warped tour, just for one day. it’s almost too good to be true.
i think it is too good to be true, actually. one day? for over 60 bands? they can’t possibly expect to fit so many bands into 12 hours, on three stages. warped tour sets were about 30 mins, with about 15-30 mins in between sets to reset the stage, depending on the size of the band and how much gear needs to be moved around. in order to fit 60-70 bands into 12 hours on 3 stages, each band would barely even get half an hour, not including the reset time between sets. this isn’t even accounting for my chemical romance and paramore, the big-bill headliners, and the 5 other big names that should get longer set times. how the ever-loving fuck are they expecting this to work?
another issue that jumps out at me is the ticket prices and tiers. i wasn’t able to look at the festival itself’s website for whatever reason, but a nationalworld article gave a lot of details about the tiers of tickets. baseline general admission is a staggering $224.99. GA+ is $399.99 for tier 1, $409.99 for tier 2, and $419.99 for tier 3. GA+ for over $100 more than GA includes air conditioned bathrooms and a special entry lane. i’m sorry, but that’s fucking ridiculous. ridiculous. the ticket price for a warped tour stop in oregon in 2017 was anywhere between $29-49 from what i found, and that’s for access to the whole lineup, all day. there are ViP tiers for wwwf as well, with fun perks and extras. the top tier, a nice shady vip cabana with quick entry and other fancy perks, for 10 people is TWELVE FUCKiNG THOUSAND DOLLARS. WHAT? WHAT???
the festival is sponsored and organized by live nation, a well-known and pretty reputable company. however, there are speculations about disaster impending. it seems like an emo version of the fyre festival, a scammy disaster leaving people out hundreds, even thousands of dollars. live nation also organized astroworld, travis scott’s bloodbath festival that more or less went down in flames. i’ve seen jokes about the wwwf being a way for ln to recoup their losses after astroworld. this is entirely possible, honestly.
i’m usually a fan of live nation, i work with ticketmaster at my concert venue so i usually think highly of live nation. i’m skeptical though. it seems too good to be true, genuinely. i guess we’ll see.

There he enrolled in a private academy school specializing in arts, the school used some of L. Ron Hubbard's teachings.[17] Later he was home schooled at the age of 14 due to bullying. In 2004, he learned he was adopted[18] and dropped out of the program when he was 16.[19][20] While a young teenager in Los Angeles, Moore would attend punk gigs in Mexican American neighborhoods in East and South Los Angeles, and later at electro club raves in the downtown's Silver Lake and Echo Park neighborhoods.[21][22]

2004–2007: From First to Last
Sonny Moore in 2008 In 2004, Moore contacted Matt Good of From First to Last about playing guitar for the band on their debut album. After flying out to Georgia, Moore was heard singing by three studio producers, Derrick Thomas, Eric Dale, and McHale Butler, and was then made lead singer, with Good playing guitar. In June 2004, Epitaph Records released the band's first full-length record with their new bandmate, Dear Diary, My Teen Angst Has a Body Count. After performing on several successful tours, two being the Vans Warped Tour and Dead by Dawn tour, they began recording their second album, Heroine with producer Ross Robinson. The album was released in March 2006 on Epitaph. With high record sales once again, the band found themselves part of many successful tours, until Moore started suffering vocal problems, causing the band to resign from several tours. After going through a successful vocal surgical procedure, Moore informed the band he would be permanently resigning to work on a solo career. FFTL's last show performed with Moore was in their hometown of Orlando at The House of Blues while touring with Atreyu.
Moore announced he had left From First to Last to pursue a solo career. He then launched a Myspace page displaying three demos ("Signal", "Equinox", and "Glow Worm"). This led to Moore's first performance since his leaving From First to Last. On April 7, 2007, alongside harpist Carol Robbins, Moore played several original songs at a local art building. After months of releasing demos via Myspace, Moore played on the Team Sleep Tour with a full band. The tour also featured supporting acts Monster in the Machine and Strata. Moore made several demo CDs available on this tour, limited to about 30 per show. These CDs were tour exclusive and were packaged in "baby blue envelopes", each with a unique drawing by Moore or bandmate.[24]
2008–2013: Solo career and extended plays
Skrillex in 2012 In February 2008, Alternative Press Magazine announced the second annual AP Tour, with All Time Low, The Rocket Summer, The Matches, and Forever the Sickest Kids, as well as Sonny Moore. The tour started in Houston, Texas on March 14 and went through North America, ending in Cleveland, Ohio on May 2, with the majority of the shows being sold out. All bands playing the tour would be featured on the cover of Alternative Press Magazine's annual 100 Bands You Need to Know special, and would be interviewed on the Alternative Press Podcast. During this tour, Moore's line-up consisted of Sean Friday on drums, Christopher Null on guitar, and Aaron Rothe on keyboards. On April 7, 2009, he released Gypsyhook, a digital EP, which featured three songs and four remixes. Also included was "海水" ("Kaisui"), a Japanese version of "Mora". Physical copies of the EP were available at his shows. After going on tour with Innerpartysystem and Paper Route and opening for Chiodos on their European tour, Moore performed at Bamboozle on May 2. He performed on Bamboozle Left's Saints and Sinners stage on April 4. He toured with Hollywood Undead in April 2009 performing under the band name Sonny and the Blood Monkeys, with Chris Null (electric guitar), Sean Friday (drums, percussion, and beats) and Aaron Rothe (keyboards, synthesizers, programming, and turntables). Moore has stated that the album Bells will not be released.[25]
In 2008, Moore began producing and performing under the alias Skrillex at clubs in the Los Angeles area.[26] The name, according to Moore, has no meaning and was "a stupid old online AOL screen name".[27] Previously, he had been known on the Internet as Twipz.[28] On June 7, 2010, Moore released his official Skrillex debut EP, My Name Is Skrillex as a free download.[29] Moore provided programming and vocals for UK metalcore band Bring Me the Horizon on their third studio album, There Is a Hell Believe Me I've Seen It. In April 2011, Spin premiered "Get Up", an exclusive new track from Korn that was produced by Skrillex. Korn made the track available for free download via their Facebook page.[31] On April 15, 2011, KoRn joined Skrillex on stage for his set at Coachella 2011. On April 18, 2011, Sony Computer Entertainment (SCEA) development studio Naughty Dog released a trailer[32] for the multiplayer component of their PlayStation 3 game Uncharted 3: Drake's Deception, featuring "Kill EVERYBODY" from Scary Monsters and Nice Sprites.
In June 2011, "More Monsters and Sprites" was released on Beatport, an EP consisting of three original tracks, including "First of the Year (Equinox)" and two versions of his original track "Ruffneck". The track "Ruffneck Bass" had been leaked on the internet months prior which used the same sample as in the new "Ruffneck" tracks on the EP. Skrillex released a music video for "Rock n' Roll (Will Take You to the Mountain)" on his official YouTube page on June 20, 2011.[33] On August 17, 2011 Skrillex announced his label, OWSLA.[34]

The video for Skrillex's song "First of the Year (Equinox)" appears on the first episode of the Beavis and Butt-head revival.
On November 8, Skrillex stated that he intended to release an album, Voltage. Skrillex gave fans more info about Voltage in RockSound Magazine after a photoshoot for the cover and doing an extensive interview on his tour.[36] For unknown reasons, however, the album was never released, however on December 21, 2011, Skrillex unveiled the Bangarang EP for a Beatport release on December 23, then on August 12, 2012, his new side-project formed with Boys Noize called Dog Blood released an EP called Next Order/Middle Finger. On November 6, 2012, Skrillex released a limited edition triple vinyl box set.[37] Skrillex composed the song "Bug Hunt" for the 2012 animated film Wreck-It Ralph, as well as making a brief cameo as a DJ in the film's first act, and in December 2012, "Make It Bun Dem" is used in as a looped variant during the single-player mission 'Kick the Hornets Nest' in the video game Far Cry 3. On March 7, 2014, an App titled "Alien Ride" was put up on Apple's App Store which contained a secret folder with 11 hidden objects and a countdown ending March 10 at 6:30EST. Moore's website was updated with the App's picture on the front page and it was later revealed the folder contains Google Play and iTunes url's which eventually were revealed to be 11 new songs available to stream that comprised his debut LP, titled Recess. The album was made available for pre-order at midnight and was released on March 18, 2014.

On January 15, 2017, Moore tweeted "Happy Birthday" with a link to a new From First to Last song which featured Moore on vocals.[41] He later joined the band in Emo Nite LA for the first time in nearly a decade.[42] In 2017, he released the songs "Chicken Soup" with Habstrakt, "Would You Ever" with Poo Bear, "Saint Laurent" with DJ Sliink and Wale and "Favor" with Vindata and NSTASIA.

The full single was released on October 25, 2018.[48]
Skrillex, Poo Bear, and Japanese-American singer-songwriter Hikaru Utada collaborated on "Face My Fears", an opening song for the video game Kingdom Hearts III. The single was released on January 18, 2019.[49][50]

Influences Moore has cited Marilyn Manson, Nine Inch Nails[53] and the Doors[54] as early influences. Moore stated in an online interview that he is a longtime fan of Warp, a label whose roster includes notable electronic artists such as Aphex Twin and Squarepusher.[55] In an interview for Daft Punk Unchained, a 2015 documentary about the French electronic music duo Daft Punk, Moore said he was first exposed to electronic dance music after attending the duo's highly praised 2006 Coachella set.

I never post my personal photos on here mainly because I’m insecure, which is why I blocked out myself with microsoft paint and my sister because privacy. Keaton Pierce passed away and I’m heartbroken. He was one of my all time favorite singers and was so nice when I met him and the original TCTT lineup back at 2017 Warped Tour.

[ chrissy costanza. cis woman. she/her. ] that’s twenty-four year old eleonora vitale, who’s a junior, taking up music therapy. around briar university, people know them to be vivacious, but some say they’re also explosive. when people think of journals full of handwritten song lyrics, recipe books passed down from generation to generation, and a personalized pink volleyball duffel bag, they think of nora. they live in off campus house #6 and their favorite place on campus is the performing arts building. let’s hope they make the most out of their time here in briar university!
BASICS:
NAME: Eleonora Penelope Vitale
NICKNAME(S): Nora, Penny ( by her family )
BIRTHDATE: August 23rd, 1997
AGE: 24
ZODIAC SIGN: Virgo
BIRTHPLACE: Englewood, NJ
SEXUAL ORIENTATION: Bisexual
GENDER & PRONOUNS: Cis Woman & She/Her
YEAR: Junior
MAJOR: Music Therapy
TRAITS: Vivacious & Explosive
AESTHETICS: journals full of handwritten song lyrics, recipe books passed down from generation to generation, and a personalized pink volleyball duffel bag
HOUSING: Off Campus House #6
FAVORITE PLACE ON CAMPUS: The Performing Arts Building
FUN FACTS:
nora penelope vitale was born in englewood, new jersey to your everyday ‘average’ italian ( they’re very proud of that part ) family ! when she’s not on campus, she still lives at home with her parents, grandparents, and little brother, and she doesn’t care if you judge her for it ! family means everything to her !
she’s the oldest of two – having a little brother named nate who means the absolute world to her ! legit, she would die for that boy !
nora actually grew up as quite the tomboy ! she has an undeniable love for skateboarding and video games, but don’t let that fool you, she’s also incredibly girly at times !
at the age of 9, nora started playing volleyball on a community rec team and she’s been obsessed ever since !
there’s not a year that’s gone by that nora hasn’t been playing volleyball.
she tried out for the university team her freshman year and became co-captain at the start of her junior year !
she’s a massive music junkie ! it’s her second favorite pastime ! there’s rarely a minute that goes by where she doesn’t have some kind of music playing - whether it’s out loud or through her air pods !
she’s actually got a very beautiful singing voice, though she didn’t believe people at first when they would tell her that !
when she was sixteen, she and two of her best friends got together and filmed a cover video for one of their favorites songs and decided to take a risk and post it to her youtube channel ! sure, it was a long stretch to post on a personal channel, but she was willing to experiment and see what people thought about it !
much to her surprise, the cover ended up going viral, and after a number of people suggesting they do it regularly, the trio decided to form an official band, naming themselves ‘chasing ghosts’ !
instead of posting their covers to her personal channel, nora created a youtube channel strictly for their band, and they began to post a cover a week to their channel ! as of today, their band’s youtube channel has just over 1m subscribers !
chasing ghosts turned out to be quite the hit around new jersey and often did sold out local gigs in and around the state !
chasing ghosts even had the chance to be a part of the 2017 warped tour lineup, which is something that nora will never forget !
nora’s main focus in life is her education and volleyball, but she and her band still find themselves messing around in the music world when she’s on break from school back home in new jersey !
nora’s other passion ? food. after all, how can someone who’s family is always cooking not be obsessed with food, right ? her favorite ? pasta, of course !
nora’s not the best cook in the world, but her nonna is doing her best to teach her everything she knows, and she’s definitely getting better !
bit of a random fact, but if she was going to be in that ‘cinnamon roll’ meme, she’d be the ‘looks like a cinnamon roll, could actually kill you’ one ! nora’s super duper sweet and adorable, but is very blunt and outspoken ! don’t cross her unless you’re prepared to handle the aftermath of her wrath !
nora’s very much a people person ! she puts the ones she cares about above herself and will go above and beyond to make sure that her friends and family are taken care of and happy !
she’s also a massive empath ! other people’s emotions affect her greatly, even when she doesn’t want them to !
nora put her love for music and her desire for helping others together and is now working towards a music therapy major !
TLDR :
nora was born in new jersey and lives there with her family when she’s not on the ship. she’s a very proud italian who loves volleyball, food, video games, singing, family & helping people. she’s a tomboy most of the time, but she also has a bit of a girly side now and again. she started playing volleyball on a community rec team when she was 9 and has been playing every year since. she’s co-captain of the briar u women’s volleyball team. she has an incredibly popular youtube channel for her band, chasing ghosts, that she formed with two of her best friends when she was sixteen. chasing ghosts has performed a number of local gigs around new jersey. they even got to be a part of the 2017 warped tour line up. she’s slowly learning how to cook and will willingly feed anyone who’s open to trying her dishes. she’s basically the embodiment of the ‘looks like a cinnamon roll, could actually kill you’ meme. she’s a total empath and goes out of her way to make sure the people she cares about are taken care of. she’s attending briar u to work towards a music therapy major.

Welcome to my unofficial Warped Tour historical blog!
I'll be covering the history of the Warped tour, its lineups, individual bands, internet culture, and the history of the music scene that revolved around the festival. Join me in reliving my teen years in this retrospective, hobby blog, and maybe discover a band or two along the way.

What was the Warped Tour?
The Warped Tour was an annual summer music festival created by Kevin Lyman and Ray Woodbury. Running from 1995 to 2019, the tour hosted many notable acts ranging in a colorful array of genres such as ska punk, alternative rock, punk, emo, hardcore, rap, post-punk, pop punk, nu-metal, etc. Following a humble start in the USA/Canada, the Warped Tour quickly became an annual staple destination for misfit teens and adults alike, touring internationally. In 96' the tour adopted the name Vans Warped Tour in a long-time partnership with Vans. By the time of its death on its 25th anniversary in 2019, Warped had left a lasting impact on the music scene and the memories of those who attended it.

been talking to someone about how “alt tiktok” praises the same 5 bands (mcr, ptv, bvb, you get the idea) but so many other super influential bands like blink 182 and a7x hardly get talked about (at least from what we’ve both seen). it seems like people aren’t really exploring the scene and checking out other bands that they don’t listen to and just bouncing off other people who listen to the same 3 bands as them. i got into this in 2017 and i used to sit and watch mtv/kerrang practically every day and would ask my friends what they were listening to. half of my favorite bands i discovered through this. and i would check out old tour lineups (eg. warped tour, taste of chaos) and see who was playing to find new bands. this really got me into quite a few bands, underoath being one of the most notable. really shows how much things can change in a couple years
anyway sorry for kind of ranting a bit but this has been something i’ve been thinking about for a while

Anti - Flag Biografi
Tumblr media
Tumblr media
Pada awal 2002, Sane meluncurkan rekaman solo berjudul Life, Love, serta Pursuit of Justice lewat A-F, serta sejumlah besar berisi versus sonically striped-down dari motivation politik band intinya. Andil Anti-Flag untuk BYO Split Series keluar pada musim gugur 2002 dengan perpisahan mereka dengan Bouncing Souls, serta satu tahun selanjutnya mereka keluarkan full-length setelah itu, The Terror State, pada Fat Wreck. Empat lagu EP Live at Fireside Bowl tampil di Liberation. Dikeluarkan di tahun 2004, DVD Death of a Nation langsung merekam tour AS untuk memberikan dukungan The Terror State, serta di tahun yang sama, A-F mengeluarkan kembali lagi A New Kind of Army.
Penuh Propaganda
Tahun selanjutnya, band ini masuk studio dengan From Good to Last's Matt Good untuk merekam collection ke-2 belas mereka. Didahului oleh single "Christian Nationalis" serta "Detest Conquers All, " Visi 20/20 bermuatan politik serta sosial dikeluarkan pada awal 2020.
