Rereading the Starforged stuff and had this image of Wil's dad being either deceased or not Present/Great so as Philza realizes that Wilbur doesn't have a father figure in any real or positive way, he's like ".... I'm Dad now." And Wilbur's like "that tracks".

Oh boy star forged Wil uhhh what did I have about him

He's born into a rich family, noblemen, but they've always been very distant. Long line of militants and generals and the like, so they're a bit put off that Wilbur shows no interest in combat whatsoever. When he was four and he picked up the bow(Phil), the first thing he did was try to strum it like a guitar. Needless to say, his parents were disappointed, but Phil was instantly endeared. After generations after generations of soldiers who only wanted to use him for his supposed magical abilities, here was this little boy who wanted only to create. And he speaks, for the first time in centuries.

Wilbur does take up archery lessons, something he somewhat enjoys, but not as a sport. Kinda like a hobby thing, not for battle like his parents wanted.

People being like "Martin didnt verbally reciprocate Jon's affection!" As Martin hasn't spent literally four damn seasons being head over heels; people need to stop doing them so dirty; just because they're leaving the honeymoon phase in the middle of the apocalypse doesn't mean everything's a house of cards, built on lies and deceit. They're two desperately traumatized men with little to no experience with healthy relationships; it's a miracle they're as functional as they are!

ur absolutely right, we didn’t spend this long getting this ship built up for it to come unraveled 7 episodes into being canon. jonny is a better storyteller than that. i know a sizable chunk of the fandom binged the first 4 seasons so it doesn’t seem like it took that long to set up but. IT DID. THIS WAS YEARS IN THE MAKING. IT DOESN’T NEED TO BE OVERANALYZED AT THIS JUNCTURE. we can fucking stop trying to figure out every conceivable way for jonmartin to be set up for failure, and PLEASE trust jonny and alex and stop being  a n n o y i n g

Noah Fense to that anon but the implication that theres any parallel between Vivienne and Irving... like, correct me if I'm wrong, but Vivenne seems like she literally works within the system to change it, instead of working within the system to survive, like Irving. She intends not only to survive but to thrive and throwing apprentices under the proverbial bus would weaken the Circle and her rep as a Grand Enchanter.

Been thinking about Leon and Hop because there's so much untapped emotional potential there and just... the image of their relationship sort of... relaxing after Leon isn't the champion anymore. Sonia has so many stories about Leon being an utter dork that between that and Leon being less guarded post-Championship that one day Hop just... fuckin' roasts Leon. Just teases the hell out of him over dinner and Leon is like "I wish this wasn't so funny so that I could be offended"

Yeah, things get a lot better for their relationship now that Leon has more time to spend with Hop. Pretty much, Leon comes down to the lab to visit Hop and Sonia. Sonia’s telling Hop about the time she caught Leon eating sand in the Wild Area or smth and Hop’s like “that explains why he dresses like a sports clown.”

Leon freezes. He’s like “damn, but you’re right. But remember the time when you got stuck in Wooloo’s fur and couldn’t get out?”

Basically, Sonia watches the two brothers fight (playfully) for like 30 mins until she’s all “Okay, Leon, you’ve distracted my assistant for long enough. Get lost.”

When Leon leaves the building, he’s frantically texting Hop like “i was joking i didn’t mean it.”

Hop answers “i was joking too but that was fun”

And y’know, once you finally confront your brother about how he’s just copying you for clout, it’s all uphill from there.

Reminds me of that comic where Leon’s like “you’re just copying me for clout and i’m gonna ruin your career”. Wish I could find it. It was really funny to me.

YO SO LIKE I went for a walk and apparently RA is ON THE BRAIN because I had this idea of Halt and Horace taking longer to get to Skandia and Will and Cass basically organizing a slave revolt and by the time the H's get to Skandia, the revolt has captives and has executed several slavers and THERE'S WILL AND CASS, RIGHT IN THE MIDDLE OF IT and Halt's like "I've never been so proud and yet so deeply terrified for the fate of multiple nations." (And Horace is like "oh no they're hot")

Another thing about the contrasting hc!phil vs dsmp!phil designs is that dsmp!phil looks... smaller. Less broad. Which is likely an issue of clothing but it really emphasizes the difference in energy between the two characters: hc!Philza is young and new and building vast structures that change the fabric of reality. Meanwhile, dsmp!Philza is quietly building a house in the Tundra, with a water feature.

But yeah! Hc!Phil's design has the negative space on the chest and it gives an illusion of broader shoulders :D I thought a bit about design and stuff when working on his clothes and I really like design based storytelling haha <3

I'm not saying the hurdy gurdy is the perfect instrument for Dren in terms of just seeming very very appropriate but like... First impression is "Hilarious" because it's called a hurdy gurdy. Upon further inspection is an incredibly intricate instrument that makes some truly beautiful, haunting music. And it's roughly the same size and shape as a lute. It's also called a freaking hurdy gurdy.

MAN, agreed!  I dunno if the hurdy gurdy would exist in Tamriel (surely something similar?), but if it did, Dren would definitely take an interest in it, especially later in life when he starts getting really interested in the craft of music.

...That said, I’m never drawing a hurdy gurdy again aaaaaaaaaa

(pt2) Patrick Weekes' quote about how he views the Maker and faith in the context of DA:I, it makes it clear that he doesn't see belief in the Creators as a 'faith' in the same way as belief in the Maker. It's just one more spit in the face of the elves (and subliminally the people the elves are based off of) because their belief system isn't treated with the same respect as the Christianity analogue. Same as always.

Honestly, the treatment of Dalish beliefs v belief in the Maker is so common it's heartbreaking. I'm a witch that worships based on my Mexican heritage and ancestral Mayan practices, and indigenous practices are always just 'folklore' and 'myth'. Indigenous beliefs are rarely seen on the same level of philosophical importance as Christian beliefs. They're just a primitive peoples' attempt to explain science while Christianity is something deeper, a spiritual quandary. (cont)

Hope you don’t mind me bolding that part cause yeah, it sure would be nice if stories/legends/practices in Indigenous cultures were treated with the same respect as Christianity. Cause despite all attempts we’re still here and many of us still do hold onto these.
