Hey! i’m really into the dbch story and i was wondering if doc and xisuma ever tell bdubs the specifics of why etho lost his memories, cause if they do that is prime self blaming angst for bdubs

I’m inclined to believe they don’t. Actually (and maybe I should do a small comic for this so more people see it) I imagine, once a month or a few pass and they finally return etho to bdubs as reset, I imagine they are VERY serious about warning bdubs not to try to force Etho to re-deviate— they don’t go into specifics, but they probably tell bdubs that whatever happened had to do with something that was emotionally overwhelming, and that forcing him to redeviate/not letting it happen naturally could trigger the same error. They have no idea what could happen so bdubs needs to be very careful and let Etho find himself again on his own.

Whether or not bdubs gets impatient or can only go so long before he doubts it would be that bad if he tried pushing Etho in the right direction is another story.

But yeah. I don’t think Xisuma or Doc really… tell anyone that this happened. Etho’s error seemed like a very specific one-off scenario, so it’s not something the other hermits should be trying to avoid or be careful about happening to their own android friends, and the only thing telling people would do is make them worried about the situation. All they need to know is that etho was broken and that they need to be careful with him. I don’t agree with their decision to keep what happened to themselves but I understand it I think. This is funny to me becuz just a few mintutes before u sent this, I was on twt and stumbled upon literal visual representation LMAO????

It REALLY is as simple as this, safe for a few lucky instances it's not even funny 😭🤚 this fandom has no middle ground hands down, they either put Shou's canon potential to full use, or go with the traits and hcs the fandom hivemind decided would be a good thing. it's disheartening!!!!! to me!!!!!!!

Shou's canon is a story abt an anti-hero believing he has the ability to save the day and eventually failing, his morals are questionable his actions are malevolent and when taken out of context; his plans and goals are extremely simplistic and chaotic, it gives him an unintentional funny vibe which is very appreciated. That's for his manga version at least, anime studio bones boy is loud, jumpy, and animated to sound and look more like a naruto typa protagonist, and fanon took that boy and his "Chaotic" nature and downgraded his character to like a couple traits i can count on hand lmao, he has no real flavor anymore!!! Like any redhair fireboy you'd find all over media & movies & cartoons, goofy & loud & and on his way to burn ur house down for no reason ig!!!! NO HATE ON THE TROPE, it's just not Shou!! It's not who he is!!!
