Ok, so I was eating lunch when I got an idea: in the Were-Mon AU, do you think that, while there's a big difference between human form and Were form, some small things (both physical and/or mental) remain?

For example, those who have a form that is carnivorous or omnivorous might have lil fangs, while those who are fire-type or ice-type would suffer cold less than others...

That being said, those are not something you truly notice, so unless you have a sherlock holmes-level deduction or you're specifically looking for them in the first place, you won't notice them...

(And anyway, I imagined Nemona and Penny with the lil fangs and oh damn those fit honestly pretty well)

Welcome, all, to "Of Monsters and Miscellany", a blog dedicated to the theoretical ideation and realization of multifandom AUs, mostly Monster AUs but expect to see unrelated AUs pop up every now and then. This blog is run by Oxy and Shiki, each of us specialized in different fandoms to cover more ground (which in practice means sometimes only one of us knows anything much at all about the verse we're spinning an au for, and the other is mostly just cheerreading and being a sounding board). Hello, back at it again! To answer:

- Gym Leaders/Academy Staff/League Members are more likely to be/become Weremons, especially since they use TeraCrystals a lot... that can apply to the transfer students too, if they use Terastalization a lot/go to Raids like crazy.

- Yep, opens up a lot of drama and/or fun stuff! Especially since, while some know that they become Monsters, some are oblivious to the fact. A "drama" example could be that a weird creature was spotted around Paldea, extremely aggressive and seems to fight the vast majority of Pokemon and Humans around, luckily with almost no permanent damages to them... Nemona hears about it, and decides to go battle it, since it must be a strong foe, and brings the protag with her... but how can she fight herself? A "Fun" example could be that Levincia had a problem: lately, a spectral figure started to appear and pull pranks while travelling through the electrical grid of the town. Well, turns out that was just Iono, a WereRotom.

OHOHOHO I LIKE THESE IDEAS. Made a comic bc I have zero (0) impulse control

AU/Transformation fiction AU idea (Weremon AU)

This is an old idea I had forever, just with different fandoms. It focuses on lycanthropy, pokemon lycanthropy to be specific. Basically Ink or the other out!codes become Pokemon at night because a Pokemon lycan bit him/them. I haven't worked out the other ideas. I still have Metamorphica/the Ink TF fan series.

Decided to refer to this as were-pokemon Au or something silly like that.

basically - gijinkas each have a species they can turn into -> shapeshifting into a ‘civilized’ version of the pokemon (aka the more standard designs. here: in front.) These civilized-designs don’t appear in nature. only as people-into-pokemon. (in human form these gijinkapeople prob. don’t have very notable pokemon traits? shrug)

Then there’s the monstery-pokemon that are all big and spooky an fighty. Here: in the back.

Pokemonster huntering -> people wear armor made of the monsterypokemon parts that potentially align with their spirit-pokemon-species or something? muuh?

And since I am crazy, here's a Were!Non-canon idea I had: The Ruin Quartet are not only Legendary Mons, but in reality they were 4 people that were within the King's palace and via a mixture of Malice, Tera-Energy (wasn't discovered yet, that's why i said it's non-canon) and the Treasures themselves, they Mutated and went berserk. Were still sealed away after battles, but they remained alive for all that time... so imagine the surprise when the protagonist opens the shrines and, instead of a Pokemon, finds a confused and pissed off hybrid...

- Wo-Chien was probably a scribe, treated badly by the King until the breaking point;

- Chien-Pao could have been the captain of the Royal Guards, forced to slay innocents and whoever the king didn't like;

- Ting-Lu must have been a priest, who the king used to manipulate people with the excuse of Religion and faith;

- Chi-Yu might have been a kid thief, their people oppressed and abused by the King, who infiltrated the Palace and stole the Beads;

All of them are permanently transformed, but keep their sanity and mentality (Although initially corrupted by a veil of rage) but if the protagonist beats them, they might get a hold of themselves... maybe becoming friends too!

(Bit darker than the usual stuff I send Asks of, but I just had it and wanted to share)

THIS ABSOLUTELY SLAMS HELLO. I LOVE THIS A LOT. Werewolves who are permanently transformed is my absolute jam, and I think this concept fits with their lore super well!!

Henlo, back at it again! While thinking about some stuff, here's what i imagined for this AU for the Area Zero Squad:

- Nemona: Were-Lycanroc, a rather big monster with Nemona's battle love cranked up to 11. Once aggressive to everyone and everything with an impressive will to fight, gets "tamed" after the protag defeats her and gets recognized. Now less bloodthirsty and a big puppy (at least to her friends), although still wants to challenge everyone... Nemona doesn't know she exists.

Arven: Were-Skwovet, calmer than Nemona's Alter Ego, and usually won't attack... unless you have bad intentions or you look at Mabosstif funny. He's *really* protective of him. Can be found around Paldea stealing Berries and other food, although no-one knows what for...Arven knows of his existence, due to somehow remembering his transformations.

Penny: Were-Glaceon, an incredibly reclusive and shy monster, she only attacks if her personal spaces are invaded. Becomes a bit more outgoing after Penny's storyline, although only with her friends. Her Vees see her as a sort-of kin, for obvious reasons (and they aren't in danger). Penny knows of her existence, not because she remembers her transformations, but for other clues around her room (I mean, if i woke up with ruined clothes, a slight coat of ice on the walls and pawprints around the floor, I would have a few doubts)

The protagonist can be what you want, there's no specific mon for him/her!

Oh, and they're a pack, because it fits.

(Note: i still think that Arven's Mon is not the right one... any ideas?)

Drew the designs for Nemona and Penny!! Decided Nemona would be a dusk form Lycanroc bc Orange. Love all the stuff u wrote, I especially dig how some are aware they’re werewolves (awarewolves?) and others just have no idea. Makes for some really fun stories :3c. Didn’t draw Arven bc I can’t decide what he would be either. I’ll keep brainstorming!!!

Anyway some assorted headcanons:

- How animalistic u look is determined by how much tera energy ur normally in contact with. For people like Nemona who are constantly using a tera orb, their transformation is more dramatic. For someone like Penny, who rarely uses a tera orb and isn’t a paldean native (less access to environmental tera energy) the transformation is relatively mild. The professor? When they transform, it’s impossible to tell they were human at all

- Nemona hears about the terrifyingly strong beast in the forest and keeps going out to fight it, only to wake up on the ground all scratched up in the forest at sunrise. She starts to think the beast knows Hypnosis for its uncanny ability to put her to sleep. Somehow, despite the obvious connections, she never realizes she’s the beast in question

- Being a werewolf doesn’t change your personality or what you want, just your inhibitions and manners. Nemona always wanted to battle her heart out, but never could bc of various social conventions, so during her transformation all that pent up energy is released and she just goes bonkers. Penny transforms and no one knows bc she still never leaves her room

- Penny sets up a camera after the first transformation because she’s shocked a Glaceon so large could wreck her room without waking her up. When it happens a second time after the next full moon, she now has video evidence— only to realize it’s HER. She initially panics, then realizes all she does is eat leftover pizza right out of the box and hide under the bed the whole time which is what she would do anyway if sleep deprived enough. She elects to just lock all her doors and windows and never tell anyone, since she’s unaware that werewolves are a Thing in paldea

- Whatever Arven is, Mabosstiff keeps him in check. Also now that I think about it, maybe Arven is an artificial werewolf? His parent tried to get him to be a werewolf on purpose so he could better adapt to “paradise”, so maybe he’s a Cyclizar? With the professors being the ‘raidons? in that case maybe Arven has different transformation rules and stuff. I’ll think abt it more

- No one except the protagonist and possibly a few trainers (Geeta, some of the professors?) know the beast attacking people in the forest is a werewolf. Nemona is fast and her transformation is pretty beastly looking anyway, so in the thick of battle everyone thinks she’s just a really big pokemon. It’s only people who manage to defeat her / tire her out that can slow her down enough to see that she has a humanoid shape and might be more than just a Very Large Dog

- I’m lame and love emotion based transformations, so I think the adults can control their shifting to various extents but the kids can’t. The more emotionally well adjusted you are, the easier time you have controlling yourself, to the point where some adults even have control over their shifting during full moon nights

Hello! While i wait for my previous Ask, here's what i thought about Team Star's bosses:

First of all, I may say that only a few members and the bosses themselves know they're WereMons, and the formers mostly because of accidental sightings.

- Giacomo might be a Galarian Linoone/Obstagoon. Even when transformed, he always has his headphones around the neck... oh, and it seems that music calms it down a lot!

- Mela might be an Armarouge, and is sighted around her base, almost like she's keeping watch... Charlos knows of this form, and almost considers it a sort of "Big Sis".

- Atticus might be a Toxicroak/Greninja, and even when transformed he always keeps the costume... he is one of the least seen of the group, since... well... ninja abilities are definitively useful for that.

- Ortega might be a Dedenne/Wigglytuff, and is one of the more "known" WereMons compared to the rest of the Team. Small, but won't hesitate to beat whoever's annoying him (doesn't help that who knows of his form agree that he's adorable like that)

- Eri might be an Ursaring/Primeape, and could be almost to the likes of Nemona in terms of aggressiveness, although somehow a bit less than her.

In my opinion, they all consider themselves part of a "pack" with their fellow Bosses, and so very friendly with each other. Sometimes, the 5 might be seen as a group, having fun!

(At least, those are ideas... still a bit unsure on them, and you're free to tell me your own! And sorry for the disturb!)
