I go into Tumblr recommended a lot because that's how I find new people, new art, new interests, etc. But every now and then someone will add into the tags a long hate post about a creator/artist/write and how whatever it is that they are drawing/writing/describing makes them an awful person.

That the fiction they are creating for themselves is the very reflection of what that person is like and what their interests are, and that if dabble in gore, or sex, or anything problematic, that this person is a supporter of all the evil in the world that came before them.

And I sit there, HAVING to have read that because its in the tags of the show/book/fandom that I'm interested in. And I wonder. Why are you there? Why are you here in this place, writing this? Are you such an idiot that you can't tell that creators/normal people can write about those things and not be like that? That they aren't murderers, abusive people, cannibals (can't even believe I have to write that), etc? Or that they would even support those kinds of things in the real world?

Are you so online that you can't tell these two things apart?

i think one of my least favorite troupes in tf2 fanfics has to be scout finds x and y are dating and freaks out/starts being openly homophobic towards them because "canon typical homophobia"
