see I think the problem with clear card is that they wrote trc between ccs and clear card, and in trc syaoran's personality is completely different from ccs's, mostly in the sense that ccs syaoran, being an elementary schooler, is kind of annoying sometimes and he sucks at communicating because he's shy about his feelings and shit, while trc syaoran is older, more mature, and incredibly formal and polite towards others, and that personality overwrote ccs syaoran's and they just didn't know how to go back to that

#just thinking thoughts... #also if you're gonna say 'well they're middle schoolers now. they're mature now' #touya (high schooler) was literally ready to go toe to toe with syaoran on basically every occasion of brattiness so. #clamp was SO scared of writing conflict in clear card istg. 'oh my god we can't ruin our perfect couple with FIGHTING' #die. your stories have become convoluted and flat. #you've gone through the marvel cycle completely on your own #where you're scared that people will predict the ending #and so you twist it unnecessarily #ruining whatever thematic coherence your plot had. #and SOMEHOW!!
