Wardrobe: RT, when out and about, can be seen with a messenger hat, his usual yellow turtleneck, bell bottoms, dress shoes, and a leather jacket.

When in his Doctor gear, he ditches the horrid yellow boots and stuffy dress shirt and tie, opting instead for the turtleneck and dress shoes, keeping the jacket open. As for the glasses, why cover the money maker?

And, of course, he always keeps his Happy Face Mask on. Always.

Likes: Socializing, walks, music (any kind)

Backstory:

Before the war, Eugene was a salesman. He grew up in Wellington Wells, helping his family out with their general store. He was the one who would advertise for the store, posting ads on the billboards around town. He had a knack for selling people on products. Other businesses would reach out to him to help sell their products, for a price. Eugene thought nothing of it, since, even if the family business wouldn't be selling as much, he was still bringing in money.

This continued, with him advertising for more places, eventually making commercials for them.

When the first batch of Joy came out, he was one of the main people advertising it. As new batches came out, and Joy became rapidly popular, his ads were put on inbetween Uncle Jack - an easy way to remind people that they can get their hands on bottled happiness for the low low price of nothing.

With the rise of Joy Doctors, he was invited to join, as a way for the people of Wellington Wells, especially the working class, to be more accepting of this new force. The invitation was accepted.

Of course, the number one rule of sales is to know your audience, as well as your product. He was aware of the downsides of Joy - the memory loss, the withdrawals - and he, personally, wanted none of it. He had not been effected the way the rest of the town was by the Very Bad Thing. And he definitely didn't regret his choice of profession, no no he did not. So there was no reason to put himself through the negatives.

Besides, if you can't accept the negatives, how will you know what to leave out in your pitch?

Arthur:

Deadass doesn't know who he is. At all. They probably would get along somewhat (before he went off Joy), but RT would most likely find him annoying after a while.

Sally:

He is a client of hers, for Sunshine. They... don't really like each other. But business is business.

Ollie:

He knows who Ollie Starkey is, but couldn't care less honestly. If they ever did meet, RT would find him hilarious.

Further Info:

Alan is a simple man who doesn’t ask for much. He prefers being kind and civil rather than causing too much of a ruckus.

However, ever since his life partner- Carolyn Days -was taken from him for reasons he doesn’t know for certain, he has gained a secret interest in investigating and solving mysteries.

He has one vinyl record that plays The Make-Believes’s last songs they played together as a band. He also has an alarm clock that reminds him to take his Joy!

He dreams of becoming more than just an average person, but for now he’s content in his day-to-day life.

Hey! It’s Joy of @we-joyless-few here.

Welcome to my newest roleplay/ask blog! I made a different one recently, but I'm not feeling Enriched enough by playing just one character, so I thought I'd make a blog for several of my OCs! I will tag my characters (and others' characters) using the "oc:[name]" format.

I will tag similarly to my main WHF blog, with the exception of also adding tags for "story rp", "rp", “oc story” and "ooc", like I did on @average-wellington-wellie :) (+ “audio reply” for voice acted responses, “voice acting” for general VA stuff, and “redirecting…” when the recipient isn’t clear)

Rules: NO MINORS PLEASE. Please specify to whom you are speaking in asks. If you want to initiate a roleplay, please make it clear somewhere in your starting prompt which oc or ocs you want to RP with. No NSFW (unless it's the typical stuff you'd find in We Happy Few already). Suggestive stuff is fine though.

(Slight addendum/clarification: I’m fine with stuff that would be found in the M[Mature] category on AO3, but nothing too explicit please 😅) Other than that, I'm pretty flexible with stuff :)

(updating some color-related language to be a bit more descriptive) Misc OCs: Carolyn Days Limericks: Pronouns - She/her Appearance - Long, "golden" hair; green eyes; warm-beige skin with tons of freckles; soft, somewhat curvy build. usually wears sun dresses and big hats. Occupation - selling hand-knitted sweaters and water color paintings Likes - art in general(knitting, painting, music, writing, poetry); sunny days; cool nights; rain Dislikes - The Make-Believes's music; children; Alan Earl Days (disliked romantically) Additional Info - Her "kidnapping" was orchestrated by her and the local Constables to get away from her loving husband. she never loved him more than as a friend, and she couldn't stand lying to him about that (and about having a baby) any longer. She just couldn't bear telling him the truth, but she unknowingly caused a worse pain than she could have if she just told him how she felt.* *(outdated/false information! read "Average Morning, Average Days" and information posted on Alan's blog) Slate "Moss" Barns: Pronouns - It/its Appearance - messy taupe hair, usually dirty; brown eyes; tanned olive skin with some scars and scratches; skinny-ish build. unless it is outside of Wastrel territory, it wears a bandana, a pair of ripped jeans, a tattered jacket, a torn shirt, and a decent pair of shoes. Occupation - scavenger, hunter/gatherer for its people Likes - being outdoors; its village; Wastrels + Downers; animals; honey Dislikes - Wellies(more-so distrusts them); Bobbies/Constables; Joy Doctors; anyone who badmouths or tries to harm its people Additional Info - Born Wastrel, and was born not long after the other children were taken/killed. More akin to a wolf or creature than a person. Instinctively distrusts Wellies, Bobbies, and Joy Doctors. Refers to itself in the third person, using "we", or with no self-referentials, and cuts out some words while speaking to make speaking quicker and easier. (I have more to say about Moss bc I actually started a fic about it and drew a reference for it)

“Rockstar”: Pronouns - He/him Appearance - dark brown side swept hair; brown eyes; sensitive, scarred skin(color unknown, but likely warm-beige or slightly darker) with some faint stubble on his face; lanky build. usually wears blue or purple glad rags at gigs, but dresses casually when he doesn’t have to wear his façade. Occupation - “I’m a music man.” (he’s a singer-songwriter) Likes – solitude; vinyl records; birdwatching; dancing; remaining anonymous/unknown Dislikes – his job; his boss; obsessive fans Additional Info – He loved music and making his own songs while he grew up, but he didn’t choose to be a musician; his father knew a producer and forced him to become a professional singer-songwriter. In his down time, he reads, bird-watches, and lets himself enjoy the sounds of nature.

Daisy Kestrel: Pronouns - They/them, it/its Appearance - Medium-length brown hair, usually kept in a ponytail; blue-green eyes; freckled, golden skin with warm undertones; lean, somewhat muscular build. typically wears clothes made of breathable-yet-sturdy materials, in case they need to flee a scene or go into more nature-overrun areas (like Lud's Holm). Occupation - Field Journalist Likes - their job; going to the Reform Club; hot showers; nature; magic Dislikes - Bobbies; Joy Doctors; the government; violence; liars; not being taken seriously Additional Info - They have spent countless hours of their time dedicated solely to ensuring people can get their stories told and truths can be revealed. It has bravely gone into dangerous areas, such as areas where plague is prevalent, to get the information it needs. It sends out reports mostly anonymously in regards to topics that could get them hurt or banished (for example, things the Wellington Wells' officials have lied about). They secretly stopped taking their Joy one day because they hated forgetting the information they needed to remember for their job. (fun fact: they're inspired an old MLP OC of mine lmao)

“Dr” Marten Pines: Pronouns – he/him, it/its Appearance – messy brown hair; a brown right eye (he is missing his left eye); light-brown skin with a lighter patch on his nose; almost scrawny build. usually wears his hand-made flower-dyed raincoat, rain boots, and gloves. Occupation – Self-Appointed Doctor of the Garden District Likes – Roses of Gilead; helping people; collecting items- especially plants; pine martens and other weasel/ferret-like creatures; books Dislikes – his mental illnesses; being asked about his missing eye; being disbelieved Additional Info – His delusions cause him to believe he is a Doctor and also part pine marten- thus his typical drawn depiction gives him ghostlike/translucent marten ears and tail. Nobody alive knows how he lost his eye, and he dislikes being asked about what happened. He has fluctuating trust issues, in that he has people he can trust, but if someone new is introduced into a situation he becomes anxious. He likes to help people whether he knows them or not, however.
