everyone has been posting about their 2023 and how much jere and joker out have impacted their lives and i guess it's my turn now
this is pretty long and all over the place but... i have a lot to say, i guess
i'm a big eurovision fan but not to the point of watching all the national finals or preparties or anything. i'm pretty invested in it during may but prior to this year i haven't really gotten invested in any artists (at least not to this extent)
anyway, this year, for some reason, i ended up watching cha cha cha the day after the umk final and i was in love. i didn't even need to listen to any other songs - i knew right away käärijä was my 2023 winner. i decided to check other songs that were already out and... guess what other song i liked right away? yeah, carpe diem
and then the universe decided it'd be lovely if bojan and jere met and it fundamentally changed the trajectory of my year. their friendship made me so happy at a time of my life i was struggling so much in terms of mental health - and with their friendship, their music, their interviews, and the rest of the kä crew and joker out
i started lurking around tumblr again. i didn't feel comfortable enough to participate in fandom, but i did love seeing all the content and all the discussions everyone was having. i hadn't felt this excited joining a new fandom in... years, literally. and despite all the shitty moments i've had in 2023, both jere and joker out have helped me a lot and i've felt so happy thanks to them
when i got the ticket for the tavastia show, i spoke to non fandom friends, expecting them to tell me it was a silly idea to fly to the other side of europe just to see joker out (and potentially experience the next bojere reunion), but they all said the same - we haven't seen you this happy about anything in a long time. you should go. and it was one of the best concert experiences of my life
then i also booked an entire trip to dublin to see jere AND I GOT TO MEET HIM? and now i'm getting my first tattoo ever? and, sure, i also got covid for the first time in my life, but it was yet another AMAZING concert experience and one i'll never forget, both thanks to jere and everyone else i met in line. dublin will forever be in my heart. it's one of those experiences that seemed straight out of a fanfic and i can't believe it all happened to me
and finally, it was time to see joker out in madrid, which was a little bit of a birthday gift to myself. i was awake for 30 hours straight and i don't even know how i survived, but it was PHENOMENAL. i truly loved every second of it
after dublin, i made the decision to start being a bit more active around here and got to meet some more lovely people and... while i still feel a bit weird, because i'm not exactly the best at interacting with others and i often feel like i'm the kid who transferred schools mid school year and is still trying to figure out exactly how to fit in, i do love how wonderful this community is. our silly joint fandom has brought me so much joy and i can't wait to see how it'll be in 2024
i'm not exactly ending this year feeling great, in terms of mental health, and i've been feeling quite down about certain things both jere and joker out had helped me feel a bit better about - body image and my own writing being the two main ones - but i seriously believe the positive impact they've had on me will influence how i deal with this during 2024 and i do hope to get to a better place
i wish you all the very best and thank you for being a part of my wonderful fandom experience and making my days a little brighter 💖 and i guess this is a good moment to say that my messages/inbox are always open and i'm always more than happy to make new fandom friends! also, if any of you are going to milan, just let me know (and, yes, i'm still deciding on some more joker out dates for next year because i can't resist spending money on them, it seems 💀)

Fufu, looking back at the year, a lot has happened, hasn’t it? But just a blink of an eye, this year is going to its end.
Graduated from Yumenosaki, the time that I walked along with everyone from StarPro and ES has become one year of irreplaceable time.
Sometimes, something came forth out of expectation, but now I think back, all of them are filled with deep emotion. Don’t Producer-chan also think like that?
That’s right. To Producer-chan, your real work of ‘producing’ only starts for about a year.
We began doing ‘Feature Live’, and there are also a lot of other new jobs too. Thank you for your hard work.
To walk along your side in this one year, I too have a feeling I have grown as an idol. Of course, everyone from “fine” also feels the same.

What's one of your favorite childhood memories?
Hello, friend, good to see you, even if you do hide in the shadows. Hope you are well. <3
Let me tell you about a time I fell in love with storytelling all over again. I grew up on stories; I loved having my dad read to me when I was little (we read Narnia books, the Hobbit, the Lord of the Rings, Robin Hood, etc. I loved *all* of it). I loved the stories of found families and tight friendships like it was my bread and butter because I hadn't made any friends I could get closed to bc family moved around a lot (a decision I don't resent my family for now, but despised as a kid), and I wasn't really *that* close to my family either due to probably a variety of factors, not excluding mental health issues. I won't delve for the sake of length, you get the point. I was a sad and lonely child and my closest friends were imaginary. Anyway back to more concrete events:
We had just moved from Florida to Virginia, which is about 1000 miles away and over 13 hour drive (for context), and we had just started a new co-op (think like homeschool school, but it only met like once a week, it was one of the ways we'd start building up a new social circle or something). And one of the classes I took in was something music (more likely theater? related but that might have a different semester) and the first week of this co-op I remember they gave us a bingo card with a bunch of famous movie soundtracks and they told us we were going to identify the movie based on the song alone.
I got 2/20 or something bc I hadn't even heard of most of these movies bc i just hadn't been exposed to it. It was things like Batman, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, maybe spongebob- pop culture stuff that I just hadn't seen. So everyone else was getting excited and I was feeling more and more out of the loop and alone.
I swear this turns happy at the end, bear with me, anon. They play the final music track and I don't recognize it at all but it fills me with such great joy and a call for a new adventure that I hadn't even realized music could do that before (we didn't listen to a lot of our own music growing up, it was mainly whatever my parents found appropriate or what my dad liked).
It was How To Train Your Dragon. Test Drive. John Powell. And then like the musical scores, they showed the scene it was from. A boy and his dragon racing, flying through the air. And I fell in love With the characters arcs per se, but I could tell there was a deep lore there and a story of friendship that I craved so much. It was also right up my alley with stories my Dad had read me so there was also that. But like the music was fantastic, I really liked the visuals at the time (i usually hate most 3D animation films, HTTYD is the exception), and I craved the story behind it.
I saved up money from Birthday and Christmas and ended up buying it. And I watched it. And I fell in love even harder. Cause, in some sense, I related to hiccup too much. I was a creative person, like he was, I had very little friends like he did at the beginning, we had similar senses of humor at some points, and he was fascinated with knowing and learning things. And he had a big dragon friend and i again craved that friendship deeply. So he added to the crew of imaginary friends and I went on many imaginary adventures with Hiccup and Toothless and told myself so many stories that I wish I could remember now for writing inspo.
I ended up moving from Virginia to middle of nowhere Midwest US (not saying where in case the Fey Find Out), and I did end up meeting my IRL Toothless. A little bit scary on the outside at firsts, but with an actual heart of a silly, goofy, dragon. (brb, im getting emotional just thinking about it. It'd be about 7 years now? Coming up? I may be bad at math. I feel old and happy and content.)
So yeh, in short it was a very much right place, right time kind of story and film. I still watch it a lot whenever I need a comfort film that's not as long as LOTR or something. I love the soundtrack and all of the things about it. Sorry, this was probably way longer than it should've been but IDK how to describe my love for this story without giving you some context.

End of the year recap
2022 was a year where many things happened in both good and bad. Embracing and accepting both is part of moving on. I am grateful for all the experiences that made me who I am today. There was a long period of time where things didn't happen the way I wanted to but that's okay. I know this coming 2023 will be a year of major changes so I am going to be taking 2022 as a year of me preparing myself for 2023.
I have lost friends but at the same time I have gained some beautiful people in my life. I became a better person because of the experiences that I went through. There were some scary moments and some heart warming moments as well. I cried my heart out because I wanted to. I chose myself above all else and made my mental health a priority. I am still learning who I am as an individual. I have also learned that sometimes the people I thought who they were are not who they actually are and that sometimes I have to fight my battles all alone. I have learned that it's okay to let go of the person that you once loved because they are not the person who you thought they were. I have realized that sometimes people change and that change is good but when it comes in between everything you believe in and everything you stand for then maybe it's best to let them go. Moreover I have learned that if I don't prioritize myself then nobody else will.
Things I am grateful for:
Having found a community that makes me feel the most welcome. Finding good friends who make me feel seen and heard. Finding joy in Fortpeat/Prapaisky when life was getting tough. Grateful for my family by my side. Grateful for all the things that I have been given.
Mentioning these beautiful souls who made me feel so welcome and accepted within this community.

okay, I shouldn't even write this, but I feel forced since last night my phone EXPLODED with notifications. and it wasn't nice.
you should know that I am a person who brings a LOT of patience.
You won't find a more calm and patient person than me anywhere, but one user in particular made me explode with anger.
I haven't been using Tumblr much lately, I struggle to draw and invent new things, studying takes up a lot of my time and I'm not relaxed at all. I've lost two people very dear to me in the space of a year, I'm about to move, and my mind is elsewhere right now.
It's a fucking hard time, that's it. and we just missed being teased by a girl much older than me. this person started following me a few months ago, I know that she has some problems and therefore I let many things slide, however I understand why a loved one of mine has the same problem and oh well, okay.
I was patient when she made my askbox explode with inappropriate or senseless questions, I let it go when she commented on my posts in the same way, I let it go when she used my characters (Elizabeth and Margaret) without asking.
but when I kindly asked her not to use my characters in a certain way, because it completely changed their personality and made them depressed and desperate (and this saddened me, because one of my characters, if I don't decide it, can't be like that ), she told me that I can't distinguish reality from fantasy.
and there too I let it go, let's be patient, let's get over it, after all she didn't say anything special.
when she wrote under the last post of her story that I complained about this thing, that I was the bad one who forbade her from writing stories WITH MY CHARACTERS (whose permission she never asked me to use) I asked at least, at the very least, to apologize.
she made fun of me, after a very long, serious and personal message from me, replying "good luck and good luck to me too who am a little sick"
...
as I have already said and repeated, I have been very patient, I study Social Health, I know what it means to have certain problems, but as I have already said, she is older than me, and is capable of understanding and wanting because she makes sensible and intelligent speeches whenever she wants, otherwise she wouldn't be here. I'm sorry about that, I told her, but it's not the way to behave.
I blocked her for the good of both of us and she contacted me again this night, around two in the morning, with another user, reblogging and liking ALL my posts starting from 2020 (and there are many), she made me wake up moreover, just to get my attention.
I reblocked her, and I won't hesitate to block her again, because hers had become an obsession with my posts (which are nothing much after all), and I wish her all the best possible, but please, don't do these things. this blog is just my outlet, where I draw (when I can) what comes to mind, what seems decent, what I like. I'll entertain you for a few seconds and I'm pleased, I do it willingly. but I'm not stupid, having said that I hope you have a nice weekend, I wish everyone joy and happiness.

Anyway...
Hey everyone!
hi...Hi!!
I keep wanting to write something but the mood keeps turning to throat punchy so that's how things want to come out. I am arguing with myself wanting to be all cotton candy and rainbows but that underlying current of get the fuck outta my face simply isn't working for what I think I want to accomplish.
It is what it is so here goes.
It's been a year of being discarded, forgotten, judged, used, manipulated, scorned, emotionally/psychologically abused, burned, sucker punches, yellow cards, red flags, gaslit, kicked while down...
...here's the thing, though-- I'm used to all that.
No, really! And it's okay
(not okay that people do these things to others)
It is OK -I am OK- because it's what I've known and recognized as familial and friendship for most of my life. I needed to see and know it for what it is. It's where I come from but not who I am and certainly not what I want and will no longer accept.
It is okay. It's OK because the lesson was/is boundaries and how they come from inside me; not outside of myself. In facing myself and 'my demons' aka the bullshit I've allowed from *lack of* boundaries/self love/self worth, I have been able to **let go**.
Letting go - actually letting it all go- feels fucking amazing and in doing so
It's been a year of healing, understanding, recovery, discovery, growth, hope, turning the page, feeling my feelings, showing up, emerging, planting new seeds, weeding, gardening, planning, upgrading, acknowledging, shifting perspective, vibrating higher, continually forgiving myself, forgiving that which will never apologize, grieving, grace, humility, and dreaming.
Lost and Found/Perdue et Retrouvée, the continual process of doing more than just existing.
We are here to live.
I believe in the power of experiences (having, joining, and creating) I also believe in the powers of hope and love and know they are, in fact, more potent than any iota of indifference, misery, or hate.
Fun fact, my name means 'glowing' 'light' 'glittering' among a few other meanings (one is literally Queen or Queen Mother) but I don't mention that one often, however, it's time for me to know, show, and glow.
Looking forward to moving forward.
No longer interested in looking back, let alone returning to any of the neat, orderly, packaged memories with betrayal and harm being left behind, sitting & waiting for when and if their owners are ever ready to claim them. No longer my monkeys or my circus and none of it ever was.

Hi! Happy thanksgiving! We don’t celebrate it in Ireland (I wish we did!) but I think it’s such a lovely holiday and hope that everyone who does celebrate has a great day 🧡
My MC is grateful for:
Love. As generic it may seem, she is so grateful for Ethan. He makes her life better just by being in it and there’s nobody else she’d rather have by her side. As well as Ethan, she’s so grateful for the gang and of course her family. They’re a tight knit group and she wouldn’t want it any other way
Jenner! Her favourite golden ball of fur and joy. In my hc he lives with Alan in Providence but they visit often. Ethan always says that Jenner gets even more excited to see MC than him another reason he should be marrying her asap
Coffee. It is what keeps her alive and alert every day after all 😅 But as well as that, it’s one of the first things her and Ethan bonded over. Their first date to the coffee shop was one of the factors that changed their relationship from mentor and mentee to lovers. Now coffee is not only her favourite drink, it’s a chance for her to spend some quiet time with her man whenever they get the chance
Ethan is grateful for:
MC. Of course. The light of his life, the love he never knew he needed until it practically hit him in the face. She changed his entire world, opened his eyes and gave him a new perspective. He’ll always be so grateful for that. And as much as his past self would never have admitted, there is no greater joy in his life than being in love.
The hospital staff. The nurses, doctors, surgeons, physical therapists, cleaners. Everyone who plays a part in such a selfless, difficult career. Edenbrook prides itself in providing the best care for its patients and that would never be possible without wonderful people. Ethan acknowledges and appreciates every single member of staff in the hospital because it could never function without their hard work.
Naveen. His father like figure, his mentor, his best friend. How could he have survived all those years in Edenbrook without him. Much to Naveen’s denial, Ethan knows that he wouldn’t be half the man or doctor he is today without his guidance. Even if he’s retired now, Ethan still admires him as a doctor and I like to think Naveen still calls in sometimes to check on the chief. As well as that, him and MC visit him regularly. Including today to celebrate thanksgiving!
I’m grateful for:
Life, in general, and health. This year has been challenging in terms of my health and although it’s one of the hardest things I’ve had to go through I’m grateful to be alive and to still have the chance to live life to the fullest.
My friends and family. Where would I be without them, I don’t know! Through the hard times and the good ones it’s made me realise just how lucky I am to have the most amazing people in my corner. With my family, when we all come together there’s nothing more special. And of course I’m so grateful for my tumblr family! Everyone who interacts, posts and messages, you keep this community thriving and bring me so much joy. Grateful for every single one of you 🤍
Opportunities. Life is full of them and I’ve really seen that this year. The most important thing is to take them! The opportunities I’ve been given have been one in a million - I mean seriously, who would’ve thought little old me would get the chances to become a published author, work with the department of justice and be invited to join my county’s women’s assembly? Madness, but the best kind!

As we arrive at the end of the year, I find myself looking back to reflect. So many things have happened in 2022, both good and bad, and it’s wild to think that it all occurred over the course of 12 months.
This was a year of reflection in general. About who I was, who I am, and what place the person I want to be fits into all of that. Reminding myself and really internalizing that we are all just people trying to make it through this life and we all have our own struggles. Realizing that no one is imperfect, and expecting myself to be is an impossible task. I’m slowly attempting to mentally speak to myself the way I would speak to a friend.
I’ve had days where I’ve been stronger than I thought I could possibly be. I’ve had other days where I couldn’t imagine a tomorrow. It’s been a lot of hard work, but my inner voice speaks more kindly to me than it has even in any of my earliest memories. There are always rough days, just like everyone else, but I have felt a change. As I continue this new path of being requested to make health care decisions for one of my parents, I continue to realize how important it is for me to be in tune with my emotions and realize how they affect both me and those around me.
I am so grateful to my friends and loved ones for all of their support and kindness. To all of you who have listened to my joys and struggles, given me advice, or sent love and overall positive thoughts and wishes, I can’t thank you enough.
May 2023 be gentle to all of us.

2024 year of the Blue Dragon
[Happy New Year! I want to wish all of you a happy new year! Thank you for a really fun time on here. It has been interesting to say the least but I look forward to what more this new year will bring. To all those who write with me, thank you. Thank you for finding my silly muses interesting enough to write with.
To all those people who I just talk to, thank you for wanting to actually talk to me, the person behind the characters. Talking to each and every one of you has been something that brings me joy. I hope that this new year is filled with blessings for everyone. I hope that this new year is kinder to everyone.
I hope that even if the new year presents you with struggles, that you can overcome them and be proud of yourself every single day for the progress you are making. Remember, just getting up out of bed is something to be proud of. No achievement is too big or too small to celebrate. In this new year, I hope we can all be kinder to ourselves and to each other.
