🍅🥪 The Bear 🐻 In my opinion, The Bear is one of the best shows of 2022. I solely picked up this show for Jeremy Allen White (his performance in Shameless is outstanding), and I stayed for the brilliant story and the rest of the cast and their well-knit, strong dynamic and acting. I did not expect to witness a masterpiece when I started this show. The casting, direction, writing, and especially the camera-angle work are just brilliant. Thanks to the direction, pacing, and camerawork, the viewer is easily made to feel the tension and suffocation that the characters are feeling in the kitchen (and in their personal lives). The chemistry between each member of the cast is commendable and one of the strongest points of the show. The characters dealing with issues such as loss, grief, addiction, trauma, depression – paired with elements of dark humor in a turbulent kitchen workplace setting, while maintaining the tense, serious atmosphere of the show – is as unique as it gets for me. As mentioned before, the incredible and fast pacing of the show with high-tension drama will definitely make you a little anxious and uncomfortable. There’s virtually nothing to fault with this phenomenal show. I expect The Bear to butt heads with other top drama shows in next year’s Emmys. This show is pure emotional chaos. That’s how I can conclude this review. #thebearfx @thebearfx @fxnetworks #thebear #jeremyallenwhite #ayoedebiri #ebonmossbachrach #jonbernthal @jeremyallenwhitefinally @ayoedebiri #mollyringwald #joelmchale #letitrip #series #bestshowever #kitchen #chef #yeschef https://www.instagram.com/p/Cm7PjthNhGz/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=

First and foremost, the movie has a slow pace beginning before it gets to the actual horror theme. Although there is a strange and cringe worthy story the chef shares with all his guests before a meal distribution, it's a combination of the story and the meal itself that become odd and a bit concerning. After that is where the movie finally picks up the pace. The truth comes out as to what's happening little by little and one by one with each guest. They start to learn why they are there and what is going to happen. Slowly each guest has something happen to them according to what they did, said or role they played in the chef's life. Oh, but they're not the only ones that have their lives on the line. And I did enjoy the twist at the end. This was a bit of a slow burn but a good watch overall. #TheMenu #chef #souschef #food #foodie #foodporn #foodcritic #eatgood #fourcoursemeal #palletcleanser #critics #restaurant #restaurantcritics #horrormovie #horror #YesChef #RalphFiennes #AnyaTaylorJoy #NicholasHoult #HongChau #JanetMcTeer #PaulAdelstein #JohnLeguizamo https://www.instagram.com/p/CpBvIVnJpKx/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=
I made baby back ribs for the first time the other day. First, I trimmed away the membrane on the underside. Then, I combined Stubb’s dry rub with some smoked paprika and brown sugar, and patted it all over the rack before wrapping it tightly in plastic wrap and putting it in the fridge for three hours. Next, I wrapped it in foil and put it on a rack in a roasting pan and let it cook for 3.5 hours at 275. Finally, I opened up the foil and slathered it with Heinz BBQ sauce and gave it another 90 minutes in the oven. When dinner time came, it was tender, sweet, and complexly flavored. Even better, Karen didn’t like it and Hannah is a pescatarian, so I had it all to myself! This plate is from the third meal - today’s lunch - accompanied by mashed sweet potatoes and sautéed baby bok choy. Dinner at Home If you had the opportunity to cook for you and your friends, why shouldn’t you?! It was a cold winter evening and I was feeling particularly inspired to cook up a storm in the kitchen. I decided to invite a few friends over for dinner and show off my culinary skills by preparing a feast of lamb chops, caprese salad, brussels sprouts, and mushrooms. As I prepped the ingredients, I couldn't help but think about my travels to Valle De Guadalupe in Mexico, where I had sampled some of the most delicious wines I had ever tasted. I knew that I had to pair my meal with several bottles from this region. After marinating the lamb chops in a mixture of rosemary, garlic, and olive oil, I fired up the oven and got to work. The sizzling sound of the meat hitting the hot cast iron skillet filled the air, and the aroma of the herbs and spices wafted through the open windows, tantalizing my guests who were already starting to arrive. While the lamb chops were cooking, I turned my attention to the caprese salad, slicing ripe tomatoes and fresh mozzarella generously stuffed with black truffle, and arranging them on a platter with fragrant basil leaves. I drizzled the whole thing with a simple vinaigrette made from balsamic vinegar and olive oil, and set it aside. Next, I turned to the brussels sprouts and mushrooms, which I pan-roasted in a hot skillet until they were tender and caramelized. As I plated the vegetables, I couldn't help but feel a sense of pride in my creation. It was shaping up to be a truly impressive meal. Finally, it was time to open the bottles of wine from Valle De Guadalupe. I popped the corks and poured the deep ruby-colored liquid into glasses for myself and my guests. As we clinked glasses and took our first sips, the flavors of the wine perfectly complemented the rich, savory flavors of the lamb chops and vegetables. We sat around the table, chatting and laughing as we enjoyed our feast, and I couldn't help but feel grateful for the opportunity to share my love of cooking with those I cared about. It was a truly memorable evening, and one that I would always look back on with fondness. #yeschef #travellogue #somm @vinoslasnubes (at Del Mar Beach) https://www.instagram.com/p/CnH2OzUJRgn/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=

Setting the dinner table last night for the arrival of a special friend. Flowers from the garden… cooked lobsters from the seafood shop… corn from local farm stand… salad and Turkey sliders… Rose 🍷🍷🍷🍷 In the end a huge success! BTW we get to do this once in a blue moon. Wish it were more often. #littlerickyrecommends #richardmishaandesign #thebear #yeschef #🍽👨🏻🍳🙋🏻♂️ (at Long Island, NY) https://www.instagram.com/p/ChpHGz7gyD6Tnhuvgisf8tQxVc9z9wm0eb-qR40/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=
