I am finally allowed to share the art I got to do for the Red Spectre suit for #MarvelsSpiderMan2!
The idea was going for something that inspired me but also felt like Miles, so I went for an idea that combines streetwear and fashion!

I thoroughly enjoyed "Godzilla Minus One" from beginning to end. This movie showed a side of humanity that no other Godzilla movie has done before, especially the recent (Americanized) films. Honestly, this is a film that you must watch and enjoy. I honestly don't want to give anything away, at all. I'm glad that this Godzilla movie will be in theaters until January 2024. It gives everyone the time to go and catch it before it's gone.

This movie was garbage! I would rather watch "The Flash" (2023) all over again than to watch this flaming pile of shit. I feel sorry for the cast that was attached to this film, truly I feel for them. This goes to show that just because a director's name is attached to a film within their genre it doesn't mean it will be great nor good.
The movie came across as a modern day silent film. The only noises heard throughout this entire film were gun shots, grunts, screaming, dying and the use of drugs. Anytime a character was going to speak it was met with some kind of facial expression. It was as if the director thought that making a movie with a ten minute overview of the synopsis and a twenty minute training montage would be okay. Oh, and the last seventy minutes were filled with blood, gore, senseless violence, drug use and unnecessary slow motion scenes. And finally the last four minutes were spent with that main character having flashbacks of his child as well as "what if his son was alive" future flashes.
I was honestly upset with the use of Latinos as nothing but drug dealing, drug use, gang banging background characters while the main character is portrayed as this white savior who is out for vengeance after a gang shot happened in front of his house and killed his young child in front of him and his wife. And keep in mind that the wife was played by a Latina and so was the child. All in all it was upsetting to watch this movie and I walked out before the credits could roll.
I highly DO NOT recommend this movie.

Well...lets talk about "The Marvels". And yes, there will be spoilers because this film was not all that great to begin with. Now, to be fair, read a head at your own risk because I have a lot to unload.
First, I would like to say that the film wasn't horrible because of the actresses. They were phenomenal! The way this trio worked was as if all three of them had met within the MCU prior to this moment. Brie Larson (Captain Marvel), Teyonah Parris (Monica Rambeau), and Iman Vellani (Ms. Marvel) all did a great job as their characters. I honestly put this lack of a film, plot, script, character development, lack of twists and turns all on the Marvel Studio and Kevin Feige.
I called it from the very beginning. Once the films time duration was presented to the public as one hour and forty-five minutes, I thought that there was no way they could unpack this story in such a short amount of time. There was no way Marvel Studios could present everything that Carol Danvers, Monica Rambeau, and Kamala Khan were going through individually unless they skimmed over each of their stories, which they did.
This was so upsetting because of the following reasons:
1) Carol Danvers aka Captain Marvel, hasn't been seen since End Game. She has been mentioned in passing, but nothing else. Where has she been since the last battle against Thanos? Why hasn't she come to Earth? Why didn't she help the Guardians of the Galaxy?
2) Monica Rambeau hasn't even been seen nor mentioned in the MCU since Wanda Vision! Why? What has she been up to? How has she mastered her powers? Since she has known about others with powers, why hasn't she approached any of them? How long has she known about Kamala and her light based powers? How long has she been working for S.A.B.E.R.?
3) How long has it really been since the ending of Ms. Marvel and The Marvels because it seemed as though there was a change in time since Kamala and Capt. Marvel swapped. When did Kamala get good at fighting? She was still learning how to use her powers and fight in the first season. Where was everyone else, from Kamala's circle? Just her mom, dad and brother get the spotlight? And she briefly mentioned going back into time, but very quickly, in less than a minute.
This movie was upsetting because the first fifteen to thirty minutes I was ok with how the movie was playing. They used some of the imaginative drawings from Kamala, back and forth humor of Captain Marvel with Nick Fury, and they brought in Monica. After all of that it went downhill.
The villain of the film wasn't properly introduced. They showed the actions of what they were doing but that was all. Throughout the film we see that Dar-Benn (played by Zawe Ashton) is on two missions; to look for the second gauntlet which is similar to the one Ms. Marvel has, and to take the resources from other planets that Captain Marvel called home. All in order to bring life back to the Kree planet.
The most annoying, Disney princess bullshit that happened came via Captain Marvel being recognized as a princess on another planet. Apparently on this planet, that's about to have a resource taken away, they speak in "singing". Lame. It gets worse. At some point Captain Marvel magically changes into a princess dress, starts to dance with the prince and has a musical number where they sing. This scene was annoying and unnecessary for the film and moment. Granted, yes, it happens only for a few minutes, but it's Captain Marvel who cuts it off in order to get to the point of how the Kree are coming to the prince's planet.
Make it all make sense Marvel Studios! This is the same Captain Marvel that showed off her powers and went toe to toe with Thanos and she cannot take on a female version of Ronan?!
And how are you not going to go into the lore of how Kamala's grandmother came across the gauntlet or how it came to land on Earth? At this point we might as well connect Kamala's gauntlets to Shang-Chi's rings. That in itself becomes a headache on its own because apparently she's a mutant whereas Shang-Chi has mystic powers due to the rings.
Anyways...back to the movie...
How long has passed since Monica received her powers? It seemed to me that she still didn't have a grasp on them. However, before the end of the film she knew how to use them. She wasn't able to fly at the beginning, but at the end she could. She was wearing a space suit while doing repairs, but at the end of the film she was flying out into space to repair the space jump. She couldn't fly and hold things at the same time, and at the end did both to save Kamala. C'mon!
And why didn't we see Nick Fury's wife? Didn't she leave with him to go to the S.A.B.E.R. station after Secret Invasion? OMG! And that evacuation plan/scene in the film was a let down, yet kinda funny.
The end scene I kinda saw it coming, but it looks like we're getting a Young Avengers *sarcastic YAY*. Yup, in the end we see Kamala recruiting Kate Bishop (Hawkeye) for her new team.
And the after credits scene gives us Monica Rambeau waking up in a hospital to see her mother, Maria Rambeau, at her bedside. Unfortunately it's not her mother and she's not in our universe. Apparently she has woken up to see her and Hank McCoy (aka Beast). Monica is in the X Mansion and Beast mentions that Charles would like to meet her (Professor X).
Afterwards there was nothing at the end credits. Honestly, I would Wait until this comes out on Disney+ or whatever streaming service it pops up on.

I have now watched "Five Nights at Freddy's" at least five times since it came out on October 27, 2023. It was a great horror movie from beginning to the end. It wasn't so much a horror film in the sense of blood and gore but that of a psychological thriller.
The movie is loosely based on the video game of the same title. However, they do change a few things around such as the history of the game on how the dine-in pizza place came to be shut down. Some of the character roles are switched up and at the same time still played a major piece in the storyline. There is a lot of lore sprinkled throughout the movie as well as Easter Eggs to keep you on your toes.
Now for those that know nothing about the franchise of this game, you're fine. Honestly around my fourth or fifth watch I asked myself if I would understand this film if I knew nothing about the game. Yes, yes I would. If anything, knowing nothing about the game will make it that much more exciting.
This horror film had little dashes of "Nightmare on Elm Street" and "Scream". Maybe "SAW" for one or two scenes, minus the blood. You can even think of the "Shining" for other things. All in all I would recommend watching this film if given the chance.
Oh, and screw the Rotten Tomatoes critics! The audience has spoken!

It has been a few weeks since I watched "The Creator" and I must say that I did enjoy watching this film. There's something so satisfying about going to the movies to watch an original and well thought out movie these days. Especially right now with the oversaturation of comic related movies, reboots of different film genres, or films that are over-extended due to the director's namesake.
This film took the idea of us humans creating A.I. (artificial intelligence). Programming all A.I. to work for us and later they began to work alongside us. A.I. units then began to be a part of families or began to create their own families. Down the line there was a human error that led to some chaoss and destruction. At that point humans made the decision to point fingers at A.I. and basically say that all A.I. is bad and must be destroyed.
During that time a new updated A.I child was created. The power that the A.I. child wheels brings much concern to the government, so much so that they do so many dirty and underhanded things throughout the film.
There is more to the story than just the government versus artificial intelligence. There's a love story. There's heartache. There are questionable motives behind the government, artificial intelligent units, and the main character. The spectacular scenery and CGI blends so well together throughout the movie! I would recommend this film if people have the chance to watch it.

"Polite Society" was a great movie! I cannot recommend watching this movie enough. I actually found it on Blu Ray & Digital, picked it up and added it to my collection.
Think about this, there are two sisters in this film. The youngest wants to be a stunt woman, while the oldest is an art school drop out. These two sisters are living lives not deemed normal by the society standards (British-Pakistani). Unfortunately their mother takes them to a friend's home to meet her son. From there the movie becomes this strange marriage, mixed with espionage and some martial arts mixed with the Matrix kind of movie.
Honestly, I don't want to give this one away. Just take my word for it and watch it. Steam it, rent it digitally or buy it and add it to your collection. It's a must watch.

"Bottoms" was a mediocre attempt at a comedy film while poorly attempting to use new slang, unable to connect with the audience and was overshadowed by the lack of a story that was replaced by trying to be "woke". And at times it was uncomfortable to listen to things being said in the film. There were moments of putting down lesbians and women in general, there were threats made by football players to almost all the women, lesbians were called ugly and tossed aside, there was even an out of pocket fight between a steroid pumped football player against a teen girl in the middle of the basketball court during school time.
The side stories made no sense or connected. One of the jocks was sleeping with the mother of one of the girls. Another girl expressed that her father was an alcoholic abuser. Yet the two main girls were polar opposites, each wanting a different girl in the group. One for what she wanted and the other didn't. However The main story was kind of lost in the middle of all this lack luster comedic blunder of a film.
The only funny part of this film was Marshawn Lynch and noticing how high he was in each scene.
Now I understand that this was a fictional movie, but some of the things said and done were uncomfortable. I wouldn't bother with this film again. If you want to watch it wait until it's on one of your streaming services, or don't watch it at all.

"Strays" was such a funny movie to watch, from beginning to end and (maybe) a little after the credits. The back story of each dog that's introduced in the film, all of the side quests and main adventure was absolutely hilarious. Think of this movie as the Disney film "Homeward Bound" but add a lot of shit talking, alcohol and drug consumption. Pair that with epic voice actors that played all the different dogs and it makes for a hilarious film.
It's for sure a must watch. However I would say rent it or borrow the movie. I watched it on Movie Day, which made it cheaper to watch at the theater.

"Flamin' Hot" was a great movie to watch. Knowing that it's the true story of Richard Montañez, a man who had a difficult childhood and an even rougher upbringing as a young man. His childhood was littered with difficulties ranging from his father being an alcoholic and abusive man toward the family to becoming a reborn again Christian, who still blamed his son on his family's short comings.
As he got older, there were more hard times. Everything from having a wife, two kids, to looking for work with no education and a record. What made matters worse was when the movie was taking place. Latinos were shunned by society and looked at as lesser than others. They were looked at as hard labor workers and nothing else.
Thankfully in the film, Richard was given the opportunity to work for Frito Lay, the potato chip company. There he was a custodian, but learned how the factory worked through having a mentor named Clarence Baker. Clarence knew how the entire operation worked and managed the factory better than anyone else, so with Richard taking so much interest, he took him under his wing
Now from there the movie takes off with how the idea to create Hot Cheetos happens, marketing, the ups and downs of the marketing, having community involvement and ultimately a great ending.
Mr. Montañez had a truly inspiring story to tell. Some might say that the film was all too stereotypical. Unfortunately those people may not be Mexican/Latino, because personally, growing up around my big family there was never a shortage of stories that sound as similar to his. This is why that movie was eye opening and motivational.
I would say that everyone should give this movie a try. Watch it, listen and understand. Those were and still are tough times for brown folks out here. All we can do is wake up and strive for greatness.

¡ANIMO! The "Blue Beetle" movie was everything I wanted in a Latino superhero movie and more! If this is what James Gunn is going to be giving us, then I'm here for it. Funny enough, this was a well done Latino/DC/Superhero movie that I don't think Marvel would've developed as well as DC seeing their recent track record.
In my opinion every single actor and actress that was chosen for their role was well thought out. I'll be honest, I was a little iffy when I saw George Lopez in the movie, but even he did a great job. Those that played Jaime Reyes's familia (mom, dad, sister, tio and nana) were all loveable as well as relatable. The love interest, Jenny Kord, played by Bruna Marquezine was refreshing to see because of her strong character back story and being in the middle of the action and not just a damsel in distress.
Throughout the entirety of this movie there are topics that we as Latinos have gone through, understand or have seen/heard on the news. There's even the topic of gentrification, Latinos being seen as and treated like lower class people among the community and work force.
The movie overall was fantastic! The story of the scarab, Jaime's back story as well as his family, the development, the pace, the CGI didn't suck and the look of the hero and villain were pretty cool.
If I had to rate this movie I would give it an 8/10 ⭐

I recently watched an advanced screening of "Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem" and it was totally radical, dude! This is a must watch, hands down! This is for sure a movie that kids, adults or families can all go watch together. I thoroughly enjoyed it from beginning to end, and that's not all.
Without ruining the movie I would like to point out a few things that made this movie special. First and foremost it has to be the casting of actual teenagers for the turtles. Those youngsters did an amazing job playing the parts of Leo, Mikey, Donny and Raph. And Jackie Chan and Splinter was an excellent choice. The entire casting overall, but c'mon, Ice Cube as Superfly was hands down a highlight because I don't think anyone could've done better.
The creative liberties that Seth Rogen has over this film was amazing. We were given a different interpretation of the turtles, Splinter, their backstory, and how they came to be. The way work wasn't as bad as people said it was. You have to understand that the talent behind the animation creates "The Mitchells vs. The Machines", and both "Spider-Man into the Spider-Verse" & "Spider-Man across the Spider-Verse". In interviews they stated that they wanted the animation to look like art work teenagers would've done in their notepads while in school. It makes sense!
The overall story of the turtles and splinter is one that some people who were kids or are kids could possibly relate to, all while trying to save the day.
The soundtrack that played throughout the entire movie, yeah, I'm gonna need that like yesterday, ASAP! And they gave us a classic, original, Hip-Hop TMNT track that almost got all the adults in the theater standing up and grooving to it! The music went well with the entire movie. If you listen closely (and have played any of the old school NES games) you'll hear one track in particular that will remind you of those childhood days. Again, I need this somewhere, now!
Now the only thing I have a gripe with is the overall ending. I'm not going to ruin it, but it doesn't end how you would expect it to end. However, there is a mid-credit scene that leaves it open for a possible part two. No end credit though.
If I had to rate this movie, I'd give it an 8 out of 10. Now go watch it!

The Flash. What a horrible movie. It was complete garbage. The first fifteen minutes and anything with Michael Keaton were the only good parts of the movie. It sucked that Sasha Calle who played Kara Zor-El aka Supergirl and Michael Shannon who played General Zod couldn't be given more screen time or lines. The CGI was crap. DC/WB brought back Ben Affleck, Gal Gadot and Jason Momoa back for meer minutes and did nothing with them. We even got George Clooney which felt more like a slap in the face compared to what we were originally going to get. Such a poor DC film.

The Next Cinematic Universe is…?
Lets talk about cinematic universes and what looks to be taking place at this very moment (2023). First of all I’d like to mention that I may not touch on every good or bad universe but I would like to note that cinematic universes aren’t a new thing. No, it didn’t start with the MCU (Marvel Cinematic Universe) but if we look back at film history it can be traced to when it did take place which was in the 1920s. That’s right, the Universal Monsters which are licensed to Universal Studios were the very first to do so with such characters as; Dracula, The Wolfman, Dr. Frankenstein’s Monster, The Bride of Frankenstein, The Mummy, The Monster from the Black Lagoon and The Invisible Man. All of these monsters at some point came across one another or were mentioned throughout other films as time went on.
Fast forward to the 80s to about the 90s and early 2000s and there weren’t many cinematic universes being created, more like crossovers or brief cameos of characters in other movies. A great example of two different franchises that were consistently being asked to merge and make something happen was that of the Alien and Predator films to make AvP (Aliens vs. Predators) happen. The fans wanted this to happen after Predator 2 when the character of Lt. Mike Harrigan of the LAPD infiltrates the alien ship to see a skull of one of the Aliens. Since then there have been countless Alien and Predator films made but only two AvP films. Another dream film that the fans wanted to see come to life was Freddy vs. Jason. After the fans saw Freddy’s signature claw glove come up from the flames of hell to grab Jason Voorhees’s mask in Friday the 13th Jason goes to Hell, people knew it was only a matter of time. Since then we’ve been given the Kevin Smith Universe because it’s all tied to the two main characters Jay & Silent Bob or characters mentioning one another as well as crossing over to other films. There’s the Quentin Tarantino universe that connects all his films together by timelines, surnames, mentions of characters with subtle nods. And yes, there is a Pixar universe that many people have talked about, but that’s overly complicated in so many ways.
Now onto the two main universes that many people know about, the Marvel Cinematic Universe and the DC Universe (or DC Extended Universe). Marvel has made it pretty straight forward as of late (mid 2023). They have the movies and Disney+ shows that all tie in for context, prime example would be how Loki from End Game is the one we see in the first season of the show Loki. Yes, there are some complications and theories that get thrown around. The whole time and space plus multiverse combination has thrown it for a loop, but nonetheless it has been pretty straight forward. However, DC has had an uphill losing battle because the movies were all over the place and not so good. There is a reboot happening with James Gunn at the helm and now there are talks of DC shows taking place on the (HBO) Max streaming service. Again, we’ll see how that goes.
Currently we the audience have been given a glimmer of hope for another cinematic universe to take place. As people know Michael Bay created the worse Transformers movie franchise, that’s just a fact given by the fans. We’ve also been given horrible G.I. Joe movies with The Rise of Cobra, Retaliation and Snake Eyes. In the most recent years the Transformers franchise has seen a better reboot with Bumblebee and Rise of the Beasts. Now this is where the spoiler warning of the post comes in because it has to do with the ending of Transformers Rise of the Beasts. At the end we see that one of the two main (human) characters, Noah, going in for a job interview. There the person interviewing him starts to talk about everything that just took place with him and Elena in New York and Peru, with the Transformers. Stunned he doesn’t know what to say, but things look up as the man conducting the interview tells him that his company is going to take care of his brother’s medical bills and be seen by the finest doctors in the world, no questions asked, all because he saved the world. Shocked, Noah doesn’t know what to say and the man tells him to think about the job proposition and opens up a secret warehouse behind the office space and hands him a business card. The card shows an eagle symbol and reads below the logo G.I. Joe! Yes, the crossover event that every original and new geek and nerd has been looking forward to for many years might just happen. Collectively people are hoping for a clean slate and reboot of the G.I. Joe movies to steer away from the last three films to make something excellent happen.
Now you might be wondering, how can G.I. Joe and Transformers be a universe? Simple, they’re both owned by the toy company, Hasbro. IDW Comics also gave us a pretty good storyline a few years ago entitled Revolution. The story involved almost all the Hasbro action figure lines such as; Action Man, M.A.S.K., Micronauts, Visionaries, ROM as well as Transformers and G.I. Joe. I can honestly see them pulling from this film and building on top of it in order to construct the Hasbro Universe. If well thoughtout they can for sure bring Action Man and M.A.S.K. into this universe. Micronauts wouldn’t be impossible, but I don’t see them being something a movie studio can jump into so easily to create as they can with the previously mentioned films. Visionaries I would want them to steer clear of for the fact that the timeline puts them around more medieval times. However, ROM could work because the story behind the robot looking character is that it’s a space knight, and with the Transformers being aliens from a different planet this could very well work for this character and film adaptation. If the studios working on Transformers and G.I. Joe work well and bring Action Man and M.A.S.K. next, there’s no telling how big the Hasbro Universe can get.
