What will the future hold for SM, JYPE, YG, and Hybe in the next five years?

SM || ten of swords, eight of pentacles rx, the empress: So, either their artists will all stop renewing with the company (unlike what we've seen over the years) or we'll see some more public lawsuits/other legal issues/scandals coming for them. Their projects might start losing quality, too, and, as a direct consequence, receive increasingly worse results. The company's reputation is really at stake here. I would just be wary of them developing tunnel vision regarding some projects or ideas, since that can lead them to lose their grip and fall back into incertitude and lack of direction once more.

YG || the magician, the emperor, ace of swords: There are a lot of legal elements here, so they might either acquire or establish a new subsidiary OR they might merge with some other big company - something new will result out of this, for sure, but YG will still exist as it is; it's just an add on. I see them acquiring stronger leadership, looking to build connections that are more beneficial for them (financially, specially). The company will start relying a lot more on the internet and rise of AI, I believe, and could even look to go with concepts that are a bit more futuristic from now on. They might also pull some of the original hip-hop elements from their early groups, revamp them and create a whole new experimental, ultra-modern yet timeless image for themselves and their groups.

HYBE || the chariot, the sun, ace of wands: HYBE will keep on acquiring more companies or businesses as the years come. They'll still be at the top, setting trends, winning many accolades and coming up with the next "big thing". With the Sun here, it worries me that they might keep training and debuting younger teens - there's a feeling of them wanting to continue on with the fresh, youthful craze that NewJeans started for them. Their target demographic going forward seems to be younger people, too, and whatever they put out then will certainly influence that new generation immensely (in style, tastes, behaviour, etc.; even more than before).

I don't know anything about YG's plans for a new bg, but the 10 of swords is a pretty negative card, either these trainees don't have much hope in debuting or YG doesn't feel too confident about them.

There aren't probably clear plans? It's hard to say because I don't know if YG has male trainees right now or if they publicly stated any intention on debuting a new group.

The hanged man indicate uncertainty or even stagnancy. If YG has male trainees, they're probably pretty much parked there without any clear plan on a possible debut.

Two of wands usually suggests to keep your eyes open and value all opportunities. It can imply that it would be good for these trainees to consider changing company? As trainees, it's not like they are able to choose much, so I can't think of many things. Maybe some of them would benefit from focusing on other talents like if one of them is too focused on improving as a dancer, but they don't focus as much on singing or rapping. I have the feeling some of them actually need more training time.

Long story short, I don't think they'll debut soon, beginning or first half of next year seems impossible to me. I'm not sure if this will happen later, it will depend on how fast YG is able to set up a debut, but knowing YG, it's safer to think they'll get pushed back like they always do lmao

So I won't be shocked if we see not much coming. It seems like there won't be anything new coming. No new ideas. Very stagnante.

I'd say that mistakes will be present even this year and that many won't learn from the past. I don't see much improvement or difference in this year. It will kinda be like the last one.

However, I do see some difference behind the curtains. We, the fans, won't see much difference, but as for the companies, there might be some change coming till the end of the year.

Other than that, I also see groups/companies coming together. Maybe a lot of collabs. Maybe a lot of stages (at festivals?).

KPOP COMPANIES

Knight of Wands, The Star, Ace of Swords, The Empress, The Lovers R, Three of Wands, The Fool

This year seems to be very good for companies, especially for the ones that are trying to acomplish something and that are trying to get their name out there. A lot of luck this year.

I think they will be working on new things. Maybe we won't see new projects/groups coming this year, but the coming years.

Also, women might play a big role this year. Women working in these companies. Women establishing their own company this year. We will see a lot of influence coming from Women.

But there will be some disharmony in and between all these companies. So yeah, let's see.

Also we might see a lot of companies being more present in foreign countries. Tours, programmes all over the world. And I mean ALL OVER THE WORLD not only the us (and obviously asia).

So till the end of the year, I see them improving and having more ideas. Being more original. And free/open for new things to come.

Seeing their fans comments encourages them to actually work harder and push, but for some idols this could lead to them feeling trapped and feel some self hatred.

Some female idols get hyped up and feel like they have reached a really high level of success if kpop stans start attacking their groups. I think female idols actually sit together and read all the comments together and probably just laugh tbh. All the comments really rile the ladies up and somehow build thier characters.

this company doesn’t have any rules against dating. it seems they used to but it actually created more problems. it’s very much giving “if you can’t beat them, join them” - they’ve accepted that young adults are going to date or sleep around if they want to, so instead of trying to stop it completely they have gone in the complete opposite direction and they actually help their artists date. they’re taught which locations to go to, will even be driven around, are given safe sex talks etc. the company doesn’t expect to be told when their artists are dating and are fine being in the dark about what their artists are doing if they don’t wish to share. it’s really just a game of trust whether the artist follows the advice and uses the help they’re given or not. it would take a lot to be punished, though some idols may be expected to be more careful than others depending on their image. i don’t think trainees are allowed to date and can be punished.

super lenient, this company not only doesn’t care but may even encourage dating to a certain extent. they’re a “cool mom” company and give their artists a lot of freedom, the overall culture is that keeping their artists happy will make them want to work harder and stay longer. i wouldn’t be surprised if there’s even a lot of dating that has happened within the company itself. they’re given general advice and expected to use common sense but it’s not something that is seriously watched over by the company. i do get this has backfired sometimes though.

hybe:

they just let it happen, there’s not much to it. hybe is okay with doing work behind the scenes to protect their artists more so then making their artists behave a certain way. the artists are not immune to being punished though should they get out of hand or start slacking with their career responsibilities.

yg:

yg artists are allowed to date as they please, it’s super lenient. it might have been strict at one point or there were rules to follow where you were expected to keep the company informed at least, but right now the company sort of keeps itself separate from the artists and the artists can do whatever. the company isn’t happy about this but it’s just ended up this way.
