well i think it's finally happening

i think i'm finally starting to let go of pokemon as my main crutch of inspiration

I have grown too dissatisfied with it, and the stories i make are so detached from he primary concept of pokemon it has become too distracting for me, like my current set of characters barely look like the pokemon they are supposed to be lmao

for a while i've been thinking how i would translate my characters into my own lil world of dragons as a fun side idea, i kinda already did that with my current lizard trio plus Zack and Ylvi but now it has gotten to the point i wanna keep developing this idea more, smash it with the things i keep getting attracted to and run with it.

I don't think i'll immediately stop drawing pokemon stuff, i still like the way my characters look, but probably expect to see more drawings of them in my OG setting as i develop more of their world.

and as for the comic

I'll just take my L and all i managed to learn through the experience, and start again when the idea is solid enough |'D sad but every time i work on it, it keeps reminding me of all the things i don't like of its setting and there's already too many things i wanna fix about it to continue. at least i've managed to learn a lot through the process and i feel way more confident about my abilities to tell a story with the themes and concepts i like so it wasn't all in vain, it's just something i'm gonna have to accept

but anyways, i'm not really sure why i'm writing this down, thought you guys would like to know what's going on with me and my work, maybe hear what you think about it, i don't know!

I'll just be drawing my weird creatures and melodrama and current times with a fun splash of modernized fantasy

Well you know I gotta ask about my boy Zackary

Zack gets to have a much more laid back life style in this AU, he got to enjoy his childhood peacefully in a loving home with his parents and brother, and eventually growing up to become a professional fighter and getting to win a couple championships, his need to show off and getting praises still hanging around.

It was during his time around the arena that he got to meet Daisy and June, along with Salem and Luka (ah man the memories are blasting me kgnb) and most importantly, where he got to meet, and compete against Ylvi during his own time as a pro fighter.

At present time, he's past the glory and looking to settle down somewhere nice with Ylvi as his "roommate", possibly somewhere incidentally close to our current lizard trio.

"This is humiliating..." Minimus grumbled in embarrassment as he was kneeling in front of you, these cute matching green fox's ears on top of his helm and tail behind him.

"No, it's cute, not humiliating." You corrected him with a smile, "Big difference! Also, I doubt that foxes can actually speak?"

"Ah, pardon me," Minimus cleared his intake, ready and willing but stopped when he realized something very crucial, "Wait, what kind of sounds do foxes make?"

"Does it matter?"

"Yes, if you want this to be authentic."

"I don't actually know?" You said and Minimus frowned, "How can you not know? You're the one who picked my costume."

"Okay, okay, calm down, and let's use some good old-fashioned search machine." You said as you reached for your datapad that was resting on your berth.

You sat on the edge of the said berth and patted the spot next to you and Minimus took the hint and sat next to you.

You were typing 'What does the fox-' when you already got a ton of suggestions, but only one stood out the most.

"Huh, there is this human song called 'The Fox' by something called Ylvis?" You thought out loud and you opened the link to the video.

You and Minimus watched the video and it was weird.

"I... I can't believe this is real?" Minimus said as he processed what you both just saw.

"It has over 1,1 billion views, I think it has to be, right?" You asked as you looked at the video's info.

"Are you certain-?" Your lover was asking but then you showed him the comment section, "And look, all the humans are complimenting it! It has to be real!"

You and Minimus looked at the comments and sure enough, they were all pretty much positive. The two of you looked at each other and you grinned as you put the datapad away.

"Well, let's see what kind of sounds I can pull out of you, my little fox!"

And that was the only warning your green lover got before you bounced on him.

Just as the two of you were getting things going on, wonk, in your habsuite, Skids, and Getaway happened to pass by your room on their way to Swerve's bar and they heard some of the sounds you were both making.

"What the frag are they doing in there?"

"I don't know but based on the sounds it's either super kinky or someone is dying."

"Should we check?"

"What, and risk walking in on them doing something nasty?" Getaway shook his helm, "No thanks, I much rather hear later if someone actually did die."

"You're awful." Skids laughed as he and his friend continued onwards, leaving you and Minimus to make as much sound as you wanted.

What song would you pair with TEG!Soundwave if you had to?

This kinda question is always difficult for me, because when I think of characters, I think of all of their facets, and there's never a song that covers all the facets. Also, is it the lyrics that we're matching to the character? Or the background/music? These are rhetorical questions, of course, I'm not demanding answers from you xD Just trying to explain why this question is hard to answer succinctly. So I'll answer based on a few of SW's facets.

"I Can't Stop" Flux Pavilion - for Soundwave's relentlessness, his perseverance, for the things he can't stop [ideally the music would be more heavy metal but than relaxing/EDM/whatever this is considered]

"Desire" Meg Myers - related to the above, Soundwave's relentlessness is intertwined with his hunger, his desire for knowledge

"What Does The Fox Say?" Ylvis - or any other silly song xD For Soundwave's trolly gremlin-ness :D

"Vicarious" Tool - yeah this is the kind of sound I wish "I Can't Stop" had. idk man I'm scrolling through songs trying to find things that speak Soundwave to me. uhhhh this song goes "Vicariously I/live while the whole world dies" and Soundwave was so close to being that. he's slowly pulling away from it. I mean, I guess you could say he has successfully pulled away from it. "I need to watch things die/from a distance/vicariously I live/while the whole world dies" it just sounds like what the Soundwave of TFP would have done on 2938... it sounds like what he's working to move away from without even knowing it

1. who is/are your comfort character(s)?

That's an interesting question! I had to think for a while, actually haha. I think it's Amelie since I can see how she inspired me in one or another way. And also Eeyore from Winnie the Pooh (what can I say? we're both melancholic creatures)

21. something you've kept since childhood?

There are actually a few items I've kept since I was a child (so 'till like 9 or 10 years of age): a sweater we got when I was 8. It was in a very good condition despite being sold at a thrift shop. It still fits me even tho my body went through some changes (I guess it's due to the fact that it is loose fit type of sweater). Then a soft figurine of one of Teletubies my mom got me from Denmark when I was 9 (she went there with her choir) & a small Hello Kitty handbag my mom (again) got me when I was 8 or 9. If my memory serves me right she bought it in The Netherlands where she was with her choir (again! one thing you should know is that my mom has a very strong singing voice & used to be a part of a choir which was a part of folk ensemble... so she visited many countries in Europe & other continents). Actually I think I would still be able to incorporate it into my wardrobe 😊 (I'm serious)

34. is there a song you know every word to by heart?

I think the least surprising answer would be: about 80% of Depeche Mode songs. I'm not joking. But! Some random & more surprising ones: The Fox by Ylvis, Never Gonna Give You Up by Rick Astley, German theme song for Sailor Moon (I was in primary school, didn't know any German, but would perfectly recite the lyrics of a theme song lol)

Bård: I think for a long time I was very embarressed of that. I remember that during the first 10 years of our career we performed in front of elderly women in Tønsberg and did revue and things that no one at our own age had any relation to. I was very embarressed and felt a bit ashamed about that. Host: you did? Bård: yes absolutely When we called P3 as a first step towards reaching our own target audience, I thought when they heard the word "Ylvis" they kind of... they said that they didn´t think... Host: because you were the revue-princes?

Bård: yes they were like "you can maybe go to P1 and sing something there"

Host: that was the reaction you got? Bård: yes Host: Did you want to have your own show actually? Bård: yes we had changed our management and they had asked "what would you two like to do?" and back then we had been programmed to think that you can´t just do what you would like to do. You have to do what you get an opportunity for. And he, who still is our manager, was very good at asking "but in the best case scenario: What do you two really, really want the most?". And after a while we figured out that it would be fun to create a radio programme for people at our age. But we can´t do that. P3 would never let us in. He said "ok, then we do that." And we were like "no, no that´s so embarressing" So he called and said "Ylvis is interested in creating a radio show" and P3 answered: "we don´t think that is the right thing". - "yes but let them create a pilot" - "ok, one." and so we created a pilot and they were very excited about it. The content that we were allowed to talk about to the audience did fit very well. (...) I think that the reason why I don´t like the name is that I still feel a bit ashamed since back in the days. This part right here broke my heart a little bit 🥺. It´s not the first time that it was mentioned that they did not like what they were doing in the first few years of their career and that they felt ashamed of it. But knowing that this period affected Bård so much that he still has a negative relation to the name Ylvis til this day, that´s so sad. 😕 I think there is nothing to be ashamed about. They took advantage of a unique opportunity when they were younger and then at some point found their very own style, had the courage to make a big change and became extremely successfull, creating one piece of entertainment gold after another, filling big concert venues ect. Their story is inspiring, encouraging and fascinating. 🌟 An so many of us adore them for who they were and who they did become. I hope that one day Bård might be able to look back at their past and can feel pride about their progress instead of shame. ❤❤❤
