okay i hope we can all agree that tulip has some killer cheekbones

growing up, Annie and her siblings did a lot of sports and clubs. Annie partook in gymnastics and tumbling for most of her childhood, and she was actually quite good at it until her mom met some connection in Hollywood. it was all a stroke of luck, but Annie’s mother thought her kids had star power and sent their headshots to some people. Ba-da-bing, ba-da-boom, and her family is relocating. 

her family moved to Los Angeles when she turned 9 and they began introducing her and her sister into the world of Hollywood with small roles in film and TV. pretty instantly, Annie loved acting and gave up her gymnastics but her sister gave acting up fairly quickly.

Annie has had a lot of death in her life. her brother died at 13, when she was 12, in his sleep from an undiagnosed heart condition. their family was crushed, and this was when Annie quit acting and began to learn the guitar, because Kyler loved it. the family stayed in California but left the spotlight to heal.

Despite his very best resistance he’s always been pretty empathetic in nature, he tries to rule his emotions as well as he can but fails more often than not. He was always one of those toddlers that if another kid started crying he’d be right along with them, not because he wanted attention but because he just couldn’t not. A bit of a crybaby, honestly, has researched how to magically seal up his tear ducts. Obviously managed to keep the family’s flair for the dramatic there as well.

Just managed to scrape through his schooling with nearly all top grades, this isn’t due to him being an excellent student. He has always accrued information with a voracious appetite. Any knowledge he could find, even if most people would consider it entirely useless. His mind clicks into that place? You can’t keep him away. However, when there is not an immediate stir of interest on his approach to a topic he has to fight with himself tooth and nail to carry on. Predictably found exam season highly stressful, was never open about it but was quietly competitive and silently smug over his good grades. Could comprehend well above his reading level from an early age and would often look into experimental research and complicated magic but found himself lost in OWL level History of Magic when chapter upon chapter lay ahead of him about something that didn’t catch his interest.

Tends toward introversion and finds himself tired sometimes quite easily by a large amount of social interaction. Witty and big-mouthed when he feels comfortable or is in the presence of those that embolden him and very likely to get flustered and snap at people when things are becoming a bit too much. Especially if he feels however unjustly that someone is blocking his escape. Has matured slightly in this since leaving school but it happens still, he’s just anxious. Quite fickle and can at the drop of a hat decide that he’s done with you for the day once his Give Me Attention Meter is maxed. Could be an absolute bloody brat when he felt like it but feels he has grown out of it, which he mostly has.

Always been very, very aware of many people’s distrust of him and his family, he used to sneer and play it up if anyone tried to bring up his dad and go on the offensive but was genuinely affected quite deeply by it all. In his early school years, despite his weakness to the cold, he constantly had his sleeves rolled up to the elbow so that his blank forearm was bared as a statement to just about everyone. I am not marked, I never will be. Now he’s older he has more of a handle on things and can be diplomatic in situations where people are clearly discomforted by his presence and his family history.

Scorpius was in his seventh and final year when the Knights were first created and he spent a lot of his time patching people up and teaching simple healing here and there, wherever he could. It was a natural transition to become part of The Order once he graduated, he still kept in contact with members of the Knights but while he had no way to access the grounds at all it seemed ridiculous that he be privy to everything, especially as sharing such information could have been intercepted by the opposing side. He was absolutely horrified by Harry’s resurrection and his stomach rolls every time he even thinks about it.

Never produced much of a talent for offensive magic and wouldn’t resort to those methods unless he had literally no other choice, not a front line fighter by any means. His talents with strategy, healing and his perseverance with defensive magic meant that he was an ideal candidate, in his head, to have the singular daemon amongst the Order and to test all of their hard work. Then the prophecy was slowly unravelled, silver spool of damning words in a pile at his feet.

Is in a strange place in that he can’t simply stop loving people he’s always loved whilst working simultaneously to strangle any potential for more people to be added to the list as frantically as he can. Tends to just try and put the prophecy out of his mind otherwise he stares at Cleo for too long and his hands start to shake.

Very nearly lost his apprenticeship due to his intensity over developing and refining the magic of the patronus charm. It was an all-consuming obsession, he went so far into the zone that he was a bit of a liability for a while there. He would turn up at any hour to other Order members for their opinions on an obscure theory, an element of the magic, the importance of ritual and their thoughts on his experiments with dementors. Alot of people were like you’re a bit young to be doing this aren’t you love? And he was like I’m not going to tell you to fuck off, just explain that I will not let this go and if you exclude me I will continue working on it alone.

[ DEATH TW ] Although this can be said for anyone possessing a daemon, he is protective of Cleo to the point of neurosis, the magic was experimental at the time of her manifestation and he felt every single layer of his soul flayed away and the creation of atoms from a matter that he still doesn’t quite understand. Only that it came from him. They have managed to limit the bitter, burnt iron taste that lingered at the back of his sinuses for two weeks, the numbness of his fingers and toes and the burst blood vessels in his eyes on other subjects. Oh and the part where he stopped breathing for nearly an entire minute. By the time he performed it successfully he wasn’t sure he wanted anyone else to ever experience it, the spell basically consumed his life for several years and when the research was finally over he was stood there blinking owlishly with no real concept of where the last couple of years had gone.

Always had somewhat fragile health tending toward sickly. Hands are never warm. Bruises like a peach and scars so easily.

okay  ,  so  it  wasn’t  total  bliss  .  cliff  was  burnt  out  at  his  job  and  his  marriage  was  another  thing  that  began  to  fail  .  he  loved  his  wife  but  things  weren’t  as  they  once  were  .  they  had  both  changed  .  in  fact  ,  the  divorce  papers  had  been  signed  when  the  news  of  a  virus  outbreak  happened  .  cliff  didn’t  think  much  of  it  ,  until  pictures  of  the  deceased  began  to  surface  .  he  was  skeptic  ,  but  still  didn’t  believe  it  could  be  an  actual  zombie  apocalypse  .  only  when  one  of  their  neighbors  was  bitten  did  they  learn  the  true  extent  of  the  situation  .  not  knowing  what  to  do  or  where  to  go  ,  cliff  and  his  family  stayed  exactly  where  they  were  .  that  is  ,  until  they  completely  ran  out  of  supplies  .  a  few  months  later  ,  they  packed  their  bags  and  left  .

they  went  south  and  found  themselves  in  kentucky  for  nearly  an  entire  year  .  dawn’s  parents  had  still  been  alive  and  so  they’d  set  off  to  find  them  .  while  they  never  found  them  ,  they  did  find  a  community  .  a  safe  zone  with  a  dozen  families  just  like  them  ,  surviving  the  only  way  they  knew  how  .  it  was  an  abandoned  school  stocked  with  supplies  for  months  .  they  stayed  as  long  as  the  group  lasted  ,  until  zombies  invaded  .  cliff  ,  dawn  and  evie  escaped  without  a  scratch  .  that  was  ,  until  the  next  day  when  they’d  taken  shelter  in  a  nearby  home  that  dawn  revealed  that  hadn’t  been  the  case  .

she’d  been  bitten  on  her  shoulder  with  no  way  to  amputate  the  infection  ...  even  though  after  twenty  four  hours  there  wouldn’t  have  been  hope  regardless  .  without  informing  their  daughter  ,  they  spent  her  last  night  together  ,  playing  board  games  and  talking  about  the  past  .  it  was  only  when  they  realized  their  time  was  up  that  they  told  evie  what  had  to  happen  .  cliff  refused  to  have  her  in  the  room  but  did  let  her  have  her  own  personal  goodbye  .  it  took  him  hours  to  finally  get  the  courage  to  bid  his  wife  goodbye  .  

cliff  wouldn’t  speak  for  weeks  .  when  communicating  with  his  daughter  or  anyone  else  ,  he  would  sign  .  part  of  him  didn’t  intend  on  ever  speaking  again  .  in  fact  ,  when  they’d  eventually  found  themselves  in  virginia  ,  knocking  on  the  gates  of  an  unfamiliar  community  ,  he  wouldn’t  talk  .  evie  was  the  one  who  had  to  explain  and  convince  the  group  they  wanted  to  join  .  when  he  finally  spoke  ,  people  were  stunned  .  many  thought  he  couldn’t  and  others  thought  he  never  would  .  he’d  forgotten  his  own  voice  . 

in  the  beginning  ,  he  was  a  gardener  ,  content  on  harvesting  and  tending  to  crops  in  his  own  isolation  .  about  a  month  later  ,  one  of  the  leaders  was  bitten  after  going  on  an  important  supply  run  .  he  chose  cliff  as  the  one  to  take  his  position  ,  not  taking  no  for  an  answer  .  cliff  didn’t  want  the  job  but  grew  into  what  was  chosen  for  him  .  since  then  ,  he  rarely  signs  .  he’s  more  outspoken  and  willing  to  communicate  .  cliff  has  taken  his  responsibilities  and  made  them  his  own  .  he’s  found  a  purpose  again  .  maybe  that’s  all  he  really  wanted  .

PERSONALITY  .

usually  level  headed  and  rational  ,  though  can  lose  his  temper  under  pressure  depending  on  the  situation  .  will  choose  to  go  around  the  mountain  rather  than  climb  it  .  there’s  always  another  route  ,  another  way  to  survive  .  you  run  from  the  horde  ,  never  through  it  .  no  human  is  ever  left  behind  if  he  can  help  it  .  he  will  do  what  he  can  to  save  others  ,  but  doesn’t  have  a  death  wish  .  cliff  always  needs  to  return  to  his  daughter  .

he’s  working  on  his  people  skills  ...  the  ones  he  doesn’t  really  have  .  cliff  is  quiet  and  keeps  to  himself  ,  aside  from  his  duties  as  a  leader  .  he’s  doing  his  best  on  reaching  out  and  speaking  to  people  .  cliff  loves  being  at  the  rooftop  garden  ,  the  place  a  calming  memory  .  he  is  the  overhead  of  the  gardeners  ,  taking  count  of  what  needs  to  be  harvested  ,  when  it  needs  to  be  harvested  and  making  sure  the  garden  is  running  smoothly  .

I think it was a few day ago, but at the time of writing this I'm watching 'Formula One: Drive to Survive' on Netflix and it's almost got my like seven times already.

Do you have kids? If no, how many do you want?

I'm only sixteen, so don't have kids, but I do really want to have around 4 kids in the future and I keep having dreams about having babies and it's making me really want a child. But I'm just too young.

If you were another person, would you be a friend of yourself?

I'd like to think I would because I think I'm quite fun to be around, but I really like to find out what people thing about me when they first meet me and they always think I'm a bit of a b*tch. So in reality I don't think I would be.

Do you use sarcasm a lot?

Yes. All the time. It's hard to get a serious answer to anything from me and I'm scared that one day I will be in a 'boy who cried wolf' situation and will probably end up getting myself in some trouble

What's the first thing you notice about people?

Their body language and posture. I studied psychology for my GCSEs (that I was supposed to be taking this year) and body language was one of the things we learned about, so I always use that to determine someone's attitude towards me.

My eyes are blue with the slightest hint of green/brown in the middle.

Scary movie or happy ending?

Literally both. My mood changes so much honestly so I just go for what I feel like at that certain moment in time. Sometimes I want to have sleepless nights after watching a scary movie or I want to cry myself to sleep at how lonely I am. It really all depends.

Favourite smells?

A fun fact about me is that smells mean a lot to me. I hold certain special memories to a lot of different smells the same way that a lot of people do to music. It's a hard question, but if I had to choose I would probably choose the smell of my childhood teddy that I literally take everywhere with me. So when I'm away from home I feel relaxed an calm with the scent of the people I love always being with me.

What's the furthest you've ever been from home?

The furthest was about 3 1/2 hours away by plane with my family, but last year I went on a school trip to Belgium and France, so that's the furthest I have been without my family.

I'm probably the least talented person you will ever meet.

Where were you born?

I'm not going to say exactly where, obviously, but it is somewhere in south Yorkshire and it is absolutely terrible and the sooner I can get away from this place the better.

I'm on the cusp between Capricorn and Aquarius so I relate to both A LOT (my birthday is 20th January) and yes I do believe in it. But to be honest I believe in a lot of weird things. I legit have my own theory of the world is evolving so believe me when I say my mind is a weird place.

Writing. Reading. Writing. Reading. (and crying over random videos I find on the internet and also the 'Quarterback' episode of Glee)

Yes. I have two cats. One called Charlie and one called Oreo. AND THEY ARE THE CUTEST THINGS EVER!

My favourite drink is water because it's the only thing that allow myself to drink, apart from one day a week that I can drink what ever I want, so on the day it's Pepsi max (Pepsi is way better that coke, just saying). I physically choose a favourite animal as I love each and every one because they all have a purpose on the earth as do we. My favourite perfume is one I got for my birthday and it's from Hollister, but I can't remember the name of it for the life og me.

I have so many baby names in my notes on my phone and I love all of them so much. So my kids are going to end up having really long names or I'm going to have to have like 50 kids. But some of my favourites are: Aurora, River, Willow.

From year 7 to year 8 I played netball, but I quit because I hated my teacher and didn't play any other sports since apart from in PE (ew) and stuff.

Sebastian lives in an apartment in London, a regular run of the mill one that has muggle residents. He doesn’t mind at all and usually makes small talk with them if he sees them in the elevator.

He has a two bedroom apartment, he says one room is for Dude but it’s supposed to be his “office” although it doesn’t get much use as that. His apartment is a little snug but the perfect amount of space for him and his companion. It feels very homey and he always some kind of spicy candle burning.

He loves his home and spends a lot of his free time there, it’s just his time to unwind. His kitchen and living room are connected which is extremely helpful so he doesn’t leave anything burning while he’s watching his shows.

As soon as he feels like he’s being threatened he bristles up and is quick to get on the angry track. Sometimes he can be talked down but if he’s really ticked off, it’s hard to get him back to a calm state. Fighting skills/techniques: He’s a relatively skilled dueler but he definitely prefers an old-fashioned fist fight.  Special skills/magical powers/etc: He can do some basic healing spells but that’s only if he or his comrades need it. Describe their childhood (newborn - age 10): Sebastian had a very loving and normal childhood, something he wouldn’t change for the world. His parents spent almost every second that they could with him when they weren’t working. He’s their only child but he wasn’t spoiled by any means since they were just reaching middle class at the time. Not that, that was something Sebastian ever had any kind of thoughts about. He played with all of the neighborhood kids and was always coming home with a bruised knee, bloody elbow, but a huge smile on his face and something new to tell his parents. 

Describe their  teenage years (11 - 19): When Sebastian Thorne found out he was a wizard he just felt as if everything had fallen into place. Not to say he wasn’t absolutely terrified by the idea at first, as far as he knew nobody in his family could do magic and he had no idea how his parents would react to the news that their only son was apparently a wizard. Luckily for Sebastian, his parents were absolutely thrilled. They told him over and over again that they always knew there was something special about him and that he was destined to do amazing things. Which did scare him just a little bit since that was quite a lot to tell an eleven year old but it also did really inspire Sebastian to try his hardest when he was at Hogwarts.

While he was in school, Sebastian definitely got along well with a lot of the other students. He wasn’t Mr. Popular but he did have a solid group of friends there especially within the Gryffindor house. However, Sebastian wasn’t quite as popular with his professors since he wasn’t one to shy away from a fight or any kind of altercation. He was definitely one for defending any of his friends that were a little too shy to do it themselves. Even if it meant landing himself in detention with a black eye or a split lip. His parents told him time and time again that he could still support his friends without getting in fights to defend their honor but that never really seemed to stick in his brain.

But as Sebastian got older especially when he began his fifth year, he knew he had to change something. He knew he had to find some kind of career once he got out of Hogwarts and getting into fights and detention wouldn’t exactly help with that. When he was younger he was hoping he’d end up being a gifted flyer so he’d be able to play on a professional quidditch team. But as it turned out, Sebastian hated flying and was also awful at it. Which was when he discovered being an auror, he knew it’d requite a lot of work and focus but he was determined.

Describe their adult years (20+): Sebastian soon after was able to call himself an auror and he was over the moon about it. His parents were excited for him too, of course, although they weren’t particularly sure what his job meant. They tried to though and that was enough for him. Once Sebastian began his job it was definitely way different than he thought it was going to be, more paperwork and it was extremely dangerous. The first few raids didn’t exactly go according to plan but Sebastian couldn’t deny he loved the rush he got when they actually caught somebody. It was exhilarating and they were doing something good, a two for one.

But the longer that Sebastian was in his position the quicker he realized how corrupt the wizarding world really was. There were blood purists and Death Eaters working right under their noses, who looked so smug when the muggle bans were passed that Sebastian thought he was going to lose his job that day. He knew he needed to do something but what was there for him to do? That was around the time that Sebastian found the Crimson Allies, a group he really connected to on a deep level. He knew that joining them was the right decision and was the way to get the wizarding world to change.

if you grew up in north america, you have probably heard of the burgess family. hell, even if you didn’t grow up in america, you have probably heard of the burgess family. 

though they pride themselves on “small town family values” and “keeping the business in the family,” the burgess family has no intention of actually relating to small town america, to trusted catholic traditions, to family run businesses. 

true, the leaders of the multibillion dollar media conglomerate known as VVIO are all close friends of the family, if not actually family members, but that’s about where the similarities between the burgesses and middle class america end. 

Vvio is one of the largest media conglomerates in north america. think similar to cbs/viacom, they have news, movies, television, late night shows, streaming platforms ! whew.. 

their father, laurent burgess, known better as laurence in an attempt to americanize himself after emigrating from france in the 1960′s, is the ceo and mastermind behind Vvio. coming from a poor family from the outskirts of paris, laurence moved to america’s real capital — new york city, not dc — with big dreams and even bigger ambitions. 

in the grand scheme of things, Vvio grew into the multibillion dollar corporation that it is today rather quickly. by the time laurence was in his early 30′s, he was a millionaire. at that point, he was married to a woman he’d known in france, his “first love,” who he’d flown out from their small town to be with him in new york at the first signs of success. 

he was a multi millionaire, a drug addict, an alcoholic, a serial cheater. he fell in love with a young french model in the 80′s, and is having an affair for an entire year before his wife finds out. though they try to reconcile, they ultimately end up getting a divorce, and he marries the french model not even a year later. 

that french model was jacqueline black, felicity’s mother. they would be married for nineteen years before ultimately getting a divorce, which both can be blamed for, but it was mostly laurence and his inability to stay faithful or sober

the burgesses grew up in fairfield, ct. each of the siblings attended private school in the city, a near two hour commute each way for the best education possible. 

THE SIBLINGS: growing up, everyone was constantly fighting for the attention of their father. the eldest son, ambrose was “the fuck up,” but he’s a rich fuck up, so did it really matter? very george bush-esque — always drunk, doing coke, fucking prostitutes, but did he still get into harvard with no merits because of his last name? you bet. emile was their father’s pride and joy. which wasn’t necessarily a good thing, when all his siblings had daggers in their eyes thinking that he was just as much a fuck up as ambrose. it was true, fortune favors the fuck ups. felicity’s other older brother (wc!!) would be the obvious choice to take over. sure, he can be wild, reckless, and impulsive — but he’s intelligent, fiercely competitive, and a people person through and through. everybody loves him. except for their father, who seems not to notice all the areas in which he excels. felicity is “daddy’s little girl” which was nice as a kid, she was favored and loved and one of the few children in which he shows affection toward — but it quickly grew old as she grew up. intelligent and well rounded, never one to drunkenly throw herself off a bridge like her, or snort so much cocaine they can’t move their legs, or get in a car accident that needs covering up like her brothers. but no matter what, she was the little girl. kept away from the business and the politics, a fragile mind like hers couldn’t “handle it.” she spends so much time trying to prove herself again and again to her father, that she was just as intelligent and capable as her brothers, only to churn out the same goddamn result. her relationship with her step sister (wc!!) isn’t a great one, seeing as they are the same age, and have been in competition with one another since they became sisters at thirteen. but she has it lucky — she will never feel the need to fight for laurence’s attention.

PERSONALITY 

when felicity was three years old she wondered into the section of the house her father forbade the kids from going. included in that section was his library — an enormous room with high ceilings, covered ceiling to floor with bookshelves, lined with all sorts of books from academic papers to novels, first edition to signed copies, etc. she fell in love, and when her father found her in there, he decided to let her explore, expand her horizons instead of punishing her for breaking the rules (which probably would have happened had it been one of her brothers, rather than her)

it was the start of her love for all things language arts & literature. her father saw it early on, deciding to hone in on the skill, he allowed and encouraged her to pick one book from his library each week. while the jacqueline spoke to all their kids in french, laurence also decided it was best to hire tutors for felicity, who clearly had a knack for languages, and encouraged her to learn some of the world’s most important languages, as well as choose ones that she would like to learn based on interest alone (like greek, for example)

felicity is an academic through and through. not only does it come naturally to her, but she enjoys learning. unlike her brothers, going out and getting fucked up all weekend isn’t her idea of fun. she’s much more straight edge — enjoys sophisticated dinner parties with a glass of wine. if she’s hanging out with “the boys,” she’ll have a glass of scotch. she never drinks in excess, always seems very collected and poised, and is the first to call out her siblings for acting idiotically. not that they care, there never seems to be any repercussions in the burgess family, not legally at least — though their father’s disappointment tends to be one of the worst consequences imaginable. 

picking a weekly book from her father’s library continued until she moved to attend leopold university at eighteen. when she was thirteen, she came across a book on astrology, and was completely enamored by it. of course, she’d learned about zodiacs before, but never in depth, and it became a new project for her, learning everything about the signs and birth charts, planets and placements. by fourteen she was discovering her entire family’s birth charts, seeing how they each fit in and played a part. with one another. this eventually lead to other spiritual activities, such as tarot cards, which is now one of her biggest passions. she has a collection of different decks, but her favorite remains as the deck she’d bought for herself at seventeen, from a vintage, spiritual and healing store in the east village of new york. 

emile was the first of the burgess siblings to be accepted to leopold and handpicked by professor ellison, so that when felicity and the others decided to attend, he’d already had the burgesses on his radar. one of the most powerful families in north america, and even the world, it was no wonder that ellison had taken an interest in them. since joining the classics course last year, felicity has formed quite a special bond with their professor. her knack and knowledge of multiple languages has piqued his interest, and they often sit together in his office and discuss works of different origins and translations and compare the literatures together. professor ellison has been helping her in her quest to learn greek and also arabic, which so far she has almost mastered reading, but still needs to work on speaking. 

kind of has major daddy issues, thanks to spending her whole life competing for her father’s validation, which is where her strive for professor ellison’s validation comes from. she really seeks for his approval and favoritism, because it’s his validation that soothes the open wound that her father could never seem to fill with his empty promises and lack of approval

BIOGRAPHY

‘You look like your mother. If only you actually were her.’ Those were the last words her father said to Mari before she stormed out of their penthouse in the middle of New York City, about two years ago now.

Mari Elle Choi is the daughter of a rich Korean diplomat who worked for the Korean embassy in the US. Their home base was mainly in New York, but he traveled a lot, taking his home schooled daughter and her nanny/tutor with him. Before she came to camp, Mari had no actual place to call home, since New York didn’t seem much like home either. Paris, Los Angeles, Washington, Seoul, Amsterdam, New York, Beijing; every city she ever went to was just a passing acquaintance. The only two constants in her life were her father and her tutor, who was like a mother to her. Or at least more of a parental figure than her father ever was. Mari was a footnote in his life. Aphrodite had been the peak of his love life. She’d left him broken and with a child he didn’t want. After her, he’d searched for the goddess in every women he had an affair with, which were a lot. He didn’t spend much time with his daughter, Eventually even Mari’s tutor, probably the only person she was actually attached to and who had ever shown her genuine love and who she dared to love because she trusted the woman wouldn’t leave. That changed of course when her relationship with Elle’s father went south and so at 18, Mari lost the only real constant in her life.

All of this piled up made her lose trust in people. They always leave in the end right? The evening her father kicked Mari’s tutor out of their lives, they’d just come back from some fancy event that had to do with her father’s job. Mari’s father travelled a lot between Asia and America, but this particular time he’d been sent to Europe for about a week. Italy to be precise. Monsters are even more of a hazard there than back in the states of course. However, back then Mari had no idea she was a demigod. She got in a fight with her father about his affair with her tutor, and as a result she stormed out of their hotel suite onto the streets of Rome. All these years she’d been protected by always being surrounded by tons of security and changing locations so often. She’d never go out on her own, always having her tutor or a bodyguard with her. Now she ventured into the winding streets of Rome, only to be met with a trio of Empousai. She narrowly escaped, using the charmspeak that she had developed as a young child in a manipulative environment. She did end up with a scar, now a long white line running from her hip to just above her knee.

She had to go to the hospital of course, to the annoyance of her father. He’d never known her mother’s true identity, only that he’d never met a women like her. Ironically he had always described her as divine or a goddess. Mari also had trouble reconciling what had happened with the reality she knew. Besides, her father had always reminded her of the importance of keeping his image intact. They were supposed to play perfect family at any events, to the point where Mari told everyone her mother had died in childbirth. 

So when it came to telling people what had landed her in the hospital, she twisted it into something more easily to grasp for any normal human being, including herself. The story as she told it was that she was attacked by three random homeless girls, some sort of robbery gone wrong. However, a satyr who was disguised as a nurse at the hospital picked up on the plot holes in the story that didn’t make sense to anyone else, but where red flags to him. When Mari’s dad had left - admittedly not very long after Mari had arrived at the hospital - the satyr convinced her to come to camp, even if she was very sceptical at first. She mostly agreed because she didn’t want to stay with her dad anymore, blaming him for her tutor leaving. She told him it was some kind of boarding school and rehabilitation centre, and he agreed to let her go because well, he wouldn’t have to hire a new tutor or extra body guard in that way.

She got claimed by Aphrodite pretty much the moment she stepped into camp. Some kind of cruel irony, she had never thought much about any gods existing, let alone that she was a daughter of one of them. And then especially the goddess of love, she hated it. It only further made her believe true love is a sham. If there are love gods managing every move, plotting people’s lives? Then love surely just isn’t real. However, in the past two years she has learned that her mother stands for much more than just romantic love, and though she still doesn’t believe in love, she has become a bit softer towards other kinds of love. Her siblings, who showed her what family is supposed to be like for the first time, helped with that too. It’s still something she struggles with however, and also with the stereotypes attached to being a daughter of Aphrodite.

- Mari carries two knifes with her at all times. They’re made by the Hephaestus cabin, and she helped design them. They’re very thin and easy to hide under clothing, like the hemline of her skirts for example. If she has any more spots where she can hide weapons, she often adds a butterfly knife or other small blades. - This habit has originated from the attack that lead to her being brought to camp. She felt utterly out of control, terrified and helpless in that instant. Before that night, she’d just been a rich kid who hung out more with her father’s colleagues and bodyguards then people her own age. She’d never had to fight before. After the initial shock of arriving at camp had faded, she threw herself into a busy training schedule, and now she is very skilled at hand to hand combat. - She could be an assassin at this point, if she wanted to. She knows how to hide weapons, she knows how to use them so subtly that no one notices. She’s pretty deadly, but it’s not in her nature to actually go down that path. - Since her entire childhood was spend practically friendless, she has trouble interacting with people her age sometimes, though there are a few exceptions. Like the girl she met at a fancy event in nyc shortly before she moved to camp, who later turned out to be one of her sisters (cough amiria cough). It has also gotten better since she has arrived at camp and is surrounded by solely people under 25, instead of solely people who are 35 and older. - However, she is very well versed in pop culture, because social media. Duh. - She is fluent in English and French, and conversational in Korean, Italian, German, Chinese, Spanish and Dutch, just from overhearing it while visiting those countries so often. - Since she spend most of her life playing the role of the perfect daughter, and still has to take on that role occasionally when her dad drags her to events to keep up his image, she has learned to be very charming. This was also how she developed her charmspeak abilities from a young age. - At camp she often lets that facade drop however, and you’ll get a more straight-to-the-point version of her. - Besides being pretty badass, she’s still very feminine. She’ll kick your ass in heels and a skirt, basically. - If you wake her up too early she’ll kill you. Literally. She sleeps with a knife under her pillow after a certain instance of one of her eros cousins thinking he could bring her breakfast on her birthday. He regretted that.

They came closer after Johnny moved in and still live with each other now. Johnny feels thankful to Jaehyun for letting him move in.

Boys from the company that Johnny always hung around with. Doyoung and he always tease each other but he knows he’d be there for him no matter what. Johnny and Yuta always play pranks on everyone and are constantly being called little devils by others at the company. After an incident concerning Hansol and Yuta, Hansol moved without warning and fell out of touch with them. Johnny misses him a lot and wishes to come into contact with him again.

Johnny helped Kun out when he first moved as he couldn’t speak the language very well and often get rather shy and anxious around people and didn’t speak up. Johnny gave Kun lessons and the two grew close. One time during their lessons, Kun attempted to kiss the other boy but he moved away and denied it. It turned out that Kun had a crush on him and had for a small while but after finding out Johnny didn’t feel the same he decided to not push the matter further. The two didn’t let the unrequited feelings get in between them and still remain close friends, just friends, today.

Johnny has known Sehun since he can remember. The younger boy’s family actually attended an event that Johnny’s family did and Johnny and Sehun immediately came close after going on an adventure together and both ending up being stung by nettles and bees several times. Johnny didn’t go to Sehun after what happened to him because he was scared Sehun’s mother would contact his family to try and sort it out and when he told Sehun, he agreed with him but said he was always welcome at his home anyway. Johnny was one of Sehun’s best men at his wedding and he still can’t believe he has settled down. They still remain best friends despite not seeing much of each other.

Johnny calls Chenle, Jaemin and Yangyang the kids as his basically tries to be their father. He met Chenle through Kun after he arrived at the company, he also couldn’t speak much and so Johnny helped him like he did Kun. Johnny met Jaemin through Mark, he is the one he has known the longest, the two had known each other before Jaemin arrived at the company and Johnny absolutely found the boy adorable, even if he was a flit. Yangyang, he met through Jaemin. He was quiet and shy at first but after coming out his shell Johnny and Yangyang often joke around together and he really likes him. Johnny loves his ‘kids’ and is happy to see them growing up so well.

Mark’s family were like Johnny’s second family even before they took him in and afterwards they became even more so. They took him in with open arms and treated him like one of the family and still do today. Sunny did so much for him such as buy him new things he didn’t take from home and pay for therapy for him. Yeri acted as though Johnny was her real big brother and often teased him a lot. Min helped him through a lot of his trauma and was there for him. Johnny now considers them more his family than his actual blood family.

background:

For the first 10 or so years of his life, Johnny lived the high life. His parents were well off citizens in their small neighbourhood with good jobs and paid for Johnny to have a good education; which included a Sunday school as his family and town were highly religious. Young Johnny never cared about religion but obliged anyway, he never wanted to disappoint his parents. Johnny had wanted to be a vet since he was younger but his father told him to try and be a government man and focus on people rather than animals. On the fateful Sunday were Johnny and two other boys from his Sunday school decided to skip, his life changed. He got his puppy Flower taken away and all his privileges and became the target for his parent's anger. They stopped buying him expensive clothing and presents and didn’t give him dinner money, forcing him to go hungry at school. Johnny told his best friend Mark what was happening, Mark immediately informed his brother Min; someone who went to the same school as Johnny at the time, to take an extra lunch. Johnny was 16 when he left home, meaning he endured 5 or so years of being his parent's punching bag. He left home after his father slashed him with a cut piece of glass and allowed him to bleed on the floor. If it wasn’t for Mark walking in on that moment, Johnny would have died. Johnny spent 4/5 years with Mark’s family, even visiting their hometown of Canada with them, he truly became part of the family but after turning 21 Johnny thought he should start looking for a place of his own. During the time he was with Mark’s family, he became a part of their families entertainment company and became heavily interested in music and further developed his piano skills from when he was younger. It was there he met Jaehyun, and around a year later, he moved in with him after the boy complained about needing a roommate. After his aunts passing, Johnny used the money from her will to finally go to University and become a vet. Recently, Johnny has passed his final exams and has gained a job at a local vet he trained at while on his course. Right now, Johnny couldn’t be happier. He is in love and is surrounded by his closest and best friends.

“no ... i don’t like nicknames, but my mom calls me as ‘hoya’ sometimes.”

"i like everything, i don’t think i have a favorite— there’s too many options and so little time to weigh the pros and cons. however you can never go wrong with something like ... tteokbokki, gimbap or dakkochi ...”

“i have been to a lot of places in my childhood, so i feel like my options are limited even if i haven’t been to many places. i would like to go to greece and see their architecture, or even brazil to walk through the rainforest. taking a vacation to the bahamas sounds nice too.”

"it is okay to struggle; your feelings are valid. it’s okay to take a few days to yourself and step back from the situation, but just remember that you are not alone, and that there will always be someone who is willing to help you. you are loved and you will never be alone.”

“i speak english and japanese, and i would like to learn mandarin or something like ... french. i’d also like to learn hawaiian or greek if i get the chance.”

"yes ! i wonder if that sounds weird, but i really wanted to be a part of the entertainment business. i can’t imagine myself anywhere else, and my family liked that i knew what i wanted to do at a young age... they were more than willing to support me on my endeavours ...”

nine. why did you decide to become a trainee and idol?

"i wanted to make music. i realized this after attending my first concert that i wanted to perform for people. there was this feeling in the crowd that’s been unforgettable to me since then, and i wanted to do the same thing, you know? i liked the idea of being able to make people experience different emotions through music i would one day put out. i was really inspired ...”
