“Fractures and dislocations of the forefoot (metatarsals and phalanges) are usually straightforward to identify, so long as the potentially injured bone is fully visible in 2 planes. The contour of the bone cortex of all bones must be checked carefully.
Standard views:
Dorsal-Plantar (DP) and Oblique - are standard projections of the forefoot. If only a phalangeal fracture is suspected then DP and oblique views of the toe(s) can be acquired. Lateral views can also be helpful” (learn more).

Words cannot describe what I'm feeling right now. I'm so blessed to have the love that I have in my life. Today was magical! Neil had Landon give me a wooden egg during brunch at the addison. Inside the wooden egg was this gorgeous ring. 💍❤️ I'm so incredibly lucky to be marrying my best friend.

I learned a lesson today
An important lesson.
Today I found my limitations. I was reminded I was human. It’s insane to sit back and think of all the abuse by 5 foot 7 inch body takes for the sake of learning medicine.
Anywho now for the story. Today started like any other day: I awoke at quarter to 4:00am, rolled out of bed barely brushed my hair and I was on my way out the door before the sun arose. I went to study before being tutored before attending class. (Yes, that is quite a mouthful). After my class ended at 11am I rushed to the chief of neurosurgery’s private practice to shadow him and his PA for the afternoon. Half way through my shift my stomach turned, my back ached and I lost my sight for a good 15minutes mid c-spine examination. I kindly excused myself and before I could make it into the hallway I was seeing stars. My body was warm then went entirely numb. I awoke covered in sweat. & there you have it people …. ALWAYS be kind to your body remember to nourish and hydrate it. Or you will suffer the pain and embarrassment.
