He adores late night chats with his friends, he doesn’t need to have anything to say even but staying up with them makes him so happy.

He says goodnight to everyone before sleeping, unless he’s so exhausted that he passes out first (then everyone says goodnight to him anyway)

After every test, he walks out and brushes it off. It doesn’t matter if he did well or awfully, he completely believes in letting something be done once it’s done and hates worrying over what he can’t control (even though he can’t always help it)

real. he does not always want to go get snacks. he doesn’t have a drawer of candy. why have i seen these tropes in so many fics???

i’m not absolved from this myself, my favorite modern au job for him is a chef in a really high end restaurant and i didn’t even realize that that might be connected to him being plus size until this post. (to me that’s more like art associated with food, but i can still see potential issues it might have).

the best way to avoid fatphobic characterizations is to let your characters be human. pete’s allowed to like food, know that it’s not the only thing he likes. lily’s allowed to be a sweetheart, know that she has other emotions too.

the future's unwritten, the past is a corridor

James and Lily didn't want the perfect wedding, they just wanted one that felt like theirs. That's why they had to invite all their friends... even if they haven't seen one another in six years and everything ended on not-so-great terms. Surprisingly, everyone decides to show up.

Smoke Signals chapter one is out now! It’s around 12k words and begins with James and Lily deciding to invite all the marauders (and the slytherin group) to their wedding! It follows each person reading their letter that came with the invitation.

The fic has multiple ships: jily (established), wolfstar, dorlene, and bartylus. It’s a modern, no magic, AU. There’s lots of bonding and fluff and getting over the past, with just enough angst to hold you over.

It stemmed from a random thought of, "hey, hope ur ok by olivia rodrigo is so Remus Lupin coded!" and then I made this post on tumblr after I'd written one word in an untitled word doc. Everything spiraled from there.

I spent ages trying to come up with a title, scanning all of my favorite artists’ discographies to find what fit the aesthetic and also the content. Smoke Signals fit perfectly.
