After V8C10 showed us that Cinder is That Bitch who takes pictures of all her contacts whether they like it or not, I couldn’t stop thinking about what the rest of her contact list might look like.

The trailer had me eager to make some art, but I'm genuinely blocked and trying to figure out something angsty for these two.
"Without you... I am nothing." That line makes my blood run cold. <3

I Won’t Let You Starve
Part Three (END)
Do you ever wonder if Salem just sees Cinder as an extension of herself? Her way of seeing into the outside world? I have no idea what Salem’s plans are for Cinder, but we do love to think about it…
Well I did not think I would be able to complete this comic within three weeks, but I did wonder if it would give me the confidence to work on my own original story. And I’m going to presume it did, since managed to finish something again! <3

I Won’t Let You Starve
Part Two
Though the next and last part of this comic will be considerably dark, this was my favorite part of the comic to plan out and draw. Please give Astoria00 all the love for writing this breakdown.
Astoria00 and I decided to write out a little theory about the aftermath of Cinder’s efforts from Vol 7. And where that leaves her in the eyes of Salem…

Cinder kicks open Salem’s door and proudly boast that she brought back the lamp of Knowledge, only for her jaw to drop and face blush as she’s sees Salem having fun with a chained up Jaune~
Who is in Control?
Pairing: Salem x Cinder x Jaune
Genre: Angst; kinda dark
Word Count: 2.5k
Rating: Mature (18+)
Warnings: Non-Con, Dubious consent, Manipulation,
Cinder couldn’t help but to hurry up the broken stairs and floors of Atlas military base. Salem would have surely claimed Ironwood‘s office by now. She probably shouldn’t have laid low for so long...but...she had to calm down first. Her master always knew how she felt and if she had to own up to her mistakes it was better for her to go in as in control as possible.
Reaching the imposant metal door the maiden sighed deeply, straightening her back and forcing her face to go blank.
‘This is it.‘
The hour of truth.
Gripping the handle of the relic even tighter, she pushed at the door with all the fake bravado she could muster...and immediately wished she didn’t.
’What the...?‘
Frozen at the doorstep, Cinder‘s eye widened comically at the sight in front of her.
She had expected Salem to be there in whatever outfit she saw fit for all she cared...but the blonde boy...that failure with a death wish, being tied up, with what looked like grimm matter, against the general’s chair completely naked, wasn’t something she was prepared for.
“W-why...I-...I mean...“
She stumbled over her words, as her head began to spin and a blush crept up her face.
Salem rose one eyebrow in silent amusement, beckoning her closer with a mere come hither motion of her hand. Flushing even brighter Cinder stepped into the room, trying to avoid the chained up boy’s horrified expression.
Just what was going on here?
‘A lesson!‘
No...Salem wouldn’t...right?
Not in front of...someone inferior to her.
Coming to a halt next to her master, she weakly offered the relic to her, but Salem gave no indication she would take it, instead she lazily leaned against the desk behind her.
The dark night sky still offered enough light to illuminate the room, giving it a beautiful, yet eerie hue.
“Try again, Cinder.“
‘Goddammit!‘
Taking a deep breath, she tried to stop herself from grimacing while sinking obediently to her knees, still presenting the relic to the older woman.
“Very good“, Salem said as she finally took what was offered to her, letting the other hand run over the maiden‘s hair.
It felt...possessive of sorts.
Cinder didn’t dare to raise her head or even flinch for that matter, but the heat of embarrassment from being exposed like this to someone else...this boy of all people, that had build up inside her, deepened the red on her cheeks.
“S-stop...that...“
‘Huh?‘
The hand in her hair stopped abruptly, vanishing completely after only a second later.
Out of the corner of her eye Cinder managed to spot just who had been foolish enough to order her master to stop.
The boy...of course it was him.
The boy...with a death wish.
“How rude of me.“
Salem’s voice didn’t betray any kind of emotion, her expression unfathomable and yet her tone managed to cause a small shiver to run down her spine.
Motioning for Cinder to rise, her master leaned back once more, a pleased smile on her face.
“Cinder, this is Jaune.
I heard you two have already been acquainted with each other.“
Normally the maiden probably would have growled or retorted something haughty, maybe even with dry and bitter sarcasm, but the fact that she now had to stare at this boy...Jaune, in only his birthday suit made it kind of hard for her.
Salem reached for his chains and wound them tighter, the dark matter constricting around him, as she demanded with a dangerously soft edge to her tone:
“By all means, do repeat what you just said.“
“St-ugh...stop...to-touching...her“, he managed to groan out in pain.
What?
Was he crazy?
Cinder‘s gaze switched between her master and Jaune in anticipation.
If this was supposed to be a lesson, then she needed to pay attention.
“And why should I do that?
Does it excite you?“
Now it seemed to be Jaune‘s turn to sputter, his ears flushing a deep red, as his expression became somewhat troubled.
“Answer me, boy!“, Salem all but ordered when he failed to respond.
Something on Jaune‘s body twitched to life at those words, but Cinder still refused to lower her gaze for even a fraction.
“N-no! I- she...just doesn’t seem...to like it...so you should stop.“
‘...Oh?‘
Was he implying she was forced against her will?
Salem turned to her with a mysterious smile, her voice warm and inviting.
“Do you share his concerns, Firefly?“
Firefly...
It has been quite a while since she had last heard the nickname her master had bestowed upon her.
Another hint...another pull.
She could feel Salem’s desires curse through her, as she almost skipped into the older woman’s waiting embrace. Leaning in she stood on her tiptoes and placed a gentle kiss onto her older woman‘s soft lips.
Crimson eyes lit up and immediately deepened the kiss...their connection, sweeping everything else away. Only at the edge of her mind did she register her cape being swept aside, as her bodysuit opened wide enough to reveal her partially scarred emblem on her otherwise smooth skin.
Breaking apart, Salem rested her head on Cinder‘s shoulder, her next words nothing more than a whisper, allowed for her ears only.
“What do you feel, Firefly?“
Fire.
Hunger.
Burning.
Craving.
“You!“
Her master hummed contently at her answer, letting her hands trail over the maiden’s back lovingly, while kissing her neck. Cinder couldn’t stop the purr from escaping her throat.
She felt safe and warm, wondering why exactly Jaune’s presence had bothered her so much in the beginning. This was where she belonged.
Salem made her whole.
“Now would you look at that?
It seems like it does excite you after all.“
Blinking owlishly the maiden peered at the boy to figure out what her master was talking about. She was almost frustrated about the interruption when she finally spotted it...her gaze dropping to the proud embodiment of his obvious arousal. Her face grew hot once more when she realized the state of her own dress and how it related to the situation at hand.
“T-that’s just my...body, I-“, Jaune stuttered, desperately trying to close his legs in a futile attempt to conceal himself, his eyes meeting Cinder‘s almost involuntary.
Salem chuckled at that, still running her hand over the maiden’s bareback, pushing her closer to the chair, as if to put her on display.
“There is no need to deny your obvious attraction.
Cinder is a very beautiful girl after all.“
As if to accentuate her words, her master spun her around, revealing her supple breasts to the boy, causing her to gasp in surprise.
“S-stop that! You’re...you‘re forcing this on...her.“
And yet he couldn’t seem to avert his gaze from Cinder, his eyes darkening slightly, as he watched helplessly how Salem gently fondled her round mounds.
While trying to chastise him no less.
“You can’t possibly hope to grasp the full extent, the meaning of our relationship, boy.“
This time the maiden couldn’t suppress the whimper as her nipple was teased oh so lightly.
Why...why did Salem…?
“This recklessness of yours is the same that her soulmate displayed.
Needless to say she paid the price for that.“
‘Ah…‘
So this was about her again.
Jaune‘s legs twitched nervously, as he stopped himself from thrusting his hips, Cinder being so close to him right now that he may have been able to grace her with his tip.
With obvious hesitation he managed to tear his gaze away from the maiden’s breasts, focusing on her face.
“You‘re...soulmate?“, he all but whispered.
Something inside Cinder shifted, her gaze clouding over as she assessed the situation. Throwing a quick glance back towards Salem she spotted an all too familiar smile...one that made her absolutely drunk on power.
Oh how she loved feeling like this.
Being this connected…
Leaning forward she straddled the boys lap, running circles over his shoulder blades, humming softly at each suppressed moan she earned when she rocked against him.
“Do you believe in destiny?“, she whispered against his lips, nipping playfully at his lower lip. Her right hand trailed over his toned stomach towards his erect member, giving it a nudge, as she observed Jaune’s face being split between pleasure and horror.
“Oh, don’t look so shocked. Did dear Pyrrha never reveal the truth to you?
She was mine, all along all mine and yet I killed her.
I chose my own destiny and now I‘m living it...without her.“
Her hand closed around his shaft, pumping it up and down with each sentence, earning her a soft groan from the boy beneath her, whose hips moved slowly to match the movement of her hand.
“I-I...you must have felt something for her.“ He still tried his hardest to get through to her, even while in the throes of passion.
“I know Pyrrha, if you truly are her soulmate...then...you just must have...“
Do you believe in destiny?
For only a moment Cinder could feel herself falter, lost by the memories of Pyrrha‘s last words...the acceptance...the hurt...her soulmate…
Hers!
And because of her she was gone...forever.
“I...did…“, she murmured almost absentmindedly.
All of a sudden she had the urge to hug Jaune close, to hide, to cry...but as soon as she felt a cool slender hand on her back, every trace of that weakness was immediately washed away.
Curling her lips into a mean smile, her other hand massaging the boy‘s balls, causing his eyes to roll back and his breath to hitch, as he moaned loudly.
“I felt her warmth underneath my hand when I burned her from the inside out.“
She sucked at the tender flesh of his neck hard enough to bruise as she sped up her pace, both of her hands working in tandem. Even hearing those words Jaune couldn’t seem to stop his hips from chasing after every friction he could get.
“I felt her slip away and scatter through the wind like ashes of nothingness.“
Licking the outer shell of his ear she grinded her own core against his member, feeling it hot and pulsing against her abdomen, as it tasted the softness of her skin. The way Jaune’s hips jolted almost out of the seat only made her quicken the pace even more, her breasts pressing against his naked chest, as she rode him.
“I felt how the life was drained from her entire being and her forest green eyes glossed over.“
With a painful grunt, she could feel him stiffen against her, as his seed spilled out against his heaving chest, his eyes squeezed close, a relieved expression adorning his face...until his gaze found Cinder‘s once more.
With a quiet chuckle she sat back up, adjusting her clothes, while mustering her work.
“I took something from you that was never even yours to begin with.“
She didn’t even quite know what she was referring to herself…
The high slowly began to ebb away...leaving a somewhat hollow feeling in its wake.
“...you...you‘re a monster...“
You turned yourself into a monster just for power.
His words managed to shatter any remaining peace she still had left.
Why...where those tears?
What…
She wasn’t able to sort through her turbulent thoughts before Salem invaded her personal space again, massaging the nape of her neck.
“Better.“
Arching subconsciously into the touch she chased the doubts away, while listening to Salem’s soothing voice.
...of course, it may only be soothing to her in general.
“I believe he may have understood the foolishness of his demands now.
But did you?
Did you understand what I wanted to teach you with this?“
“Never underestimate the usefulness of others?“, Cinder couldn’t help but answer playfully.
Her master sighed, but the amusement never left her crimson eyes, as she shook her head.
“My terrible, defiant girl.“
With a pout she nuzzled against Salem‘s cheek.
“How...not to kill them?“
“Try again.
You know how.“
Sighing loudly she searched herself.
The reason, the lesson, her desires, Salem...it all mingled together.
The process wasn’t painful, but it was always leaving her disoriented afterwards
Cinder felt it, the moment their hearts followed the same rhythm, the moment individuality ceased to exist.
“Break“
“Correct.“
The voice startled the Maiden out of her concentration, as she peered up at her master with a weak smile.
“And you did it so effortlessly right now.“
Did she?
‘Yes...‘
But was that truly...just her?
She knew what she agreed to back then...still...sometimes it scared her.
If you so desire, I will save you, child.
He said it’s impossible though...
Nothing is ever truly impossible.
It only depends on what you are willing to sacrifice to see your wishes fulfilled.
With a quick, but tender kiss to her forehead Salem swept through the room, excusing herself amicably from the captive still bound to the chair.
“I hope you will rethink your priorities now and decide to take my generous offer. There is nothing for you to gain by refusing.“
She laughed cruelly, as she ruffled through his blonde hair.
“Maybe young Cinder wishes to play with you further.
I will see you in the morning.“
With those words she disappeared out of their sights, leaving Cinder, as bewildered as ever.
All of Salem’s lessons had that kind of effect on her.
She had no intention of playing with him like Salem had suggested.
She felt...
‘Drained‘
The maiden had avoided talking about her soulmate in general. It had been a sore subject between her and Salem for quite some time.
If she had only stayed out of her way at Beacon, the redhead would still be alive and Cinder...
Cinder wouldn’t need to feel-
‘Enough!‘
With a frustrated huff she turned towards the door as well. There was no use to ponder over such things. The past was the past.
“When I think of destiny, I don’t think of a predetermined fate you can’t escape, but rather some sort of final goal. Something you‘ve worked for your entire life.“
Cinder’s eye flittered back to the still crying boy in the chair.
His voice nothing more than a mumble, but she managed to catch it anyways.
“That’s what she, what Pyrrha believed.“
Of course, her soulmate...
’Again...‘
Clenching her hands into fists, she tried to find the same icy fire from before to destroy the boy in front of her, but she couldn’t quite grasp it.
“Then she was wrong!“
Her voice sounded more convinced than she actually felt, yet it did nothing to quell the sudden spark that returned to Jaune‘s eyes, as he slowly shook his head.
“I trust in Pyrrha“, he croaked out, his voice cracking, “If she tried to reach you, if you truly are her soulmate I will do so as well.“
‘What?‘
After what she just did to him?
How absurd.
Utterly ridiculous.
Wh-
The audacity!
Cinder’s aura flared up on its own accord, as her thoughts and feelings once again became a muddled mess, a cruel smile spreading over her features. Leaning forward she tilted Jaune’s head upwards, her next words spilling out before she could truly think them through.
“You are wrong, too!“

Headcanon time ^^
Salem loves to keep Cinder‘s hair short, because it reminds her of Ozma‘s when she runs her hand through it. When Cinder grew it out for her mission she was actually rather disappointed, but knew it was for the best. Once she got brought back to Evernight again though her long hair was still intact and entirely unburned...Salem decided to cut it anyway XD

Cinder isn’t sure she likes that XD

Author‘s Note: Writing request from @hoepunkausta ^^
The last time Cinder had been sick, she had hidden herself away. Showing any kind of weakness that was due to her body’s very own incompetence was beyond disgusting to her, but this time it was different. This fever was beyond anything she had ever to endure. Everything hurt, was aching with cold and exhaustion…and yet she felt like burning up.
She tried burrowing herself into her pillows, but it didn’t help.
A painful moan escaped her lips, as she struggled to breathe in deeply.
Why had she ever agreed to this stupid amputation in the first place?
This is your chance at freedom, Cinder…
Think of it as a fresh start.
Pathetic.
They both knew it had been an ultimatum for trying to rehabilitate her.
Now she was here, back in Mantle…and oh how she wished she could just burn it to the ground after all.
She whimpered pitifully, as she tried to curl up into a ball, thinking back to a time when being sick hadn’t been that bad.
When someone had hugged her close and kissed her forehead just right…had kept her warm and safe…secure…
‘I want to go home.’
“Cinder, you didn’t even touch your food.”
The concerned voice sounded way too grating to her poor ears.
Pyrrha just couldn’t leave her alone, could she?
Hovering over her like some sort of overprotective nurse, advocating for her freedom at every step and making her decide on how Cinder wanted to live her life now.
She should have killed her on top of Beacon tower…she should have…and yet…at the last moment her fingers had slipped, missing her heart and letting the redhead survive her onslaught.
Not that Ruby Rose had cared for that, blasting her with those godforsaken eyes.
Ultimately it didn’t matter now…now that everything was over…that Salem was…
Whatever may happen, don’t forget, you hold the key to our victory.
A sudden cool touch on her forehead ripped her from her sluggish thoughts, making her groan a bit.
“Your fever rose again.”
‘You don’t say.’
Cinder wasn’t really in the mood to think too much. It was hard and exhausting…and Pyrrha’s presence made her head spin even worse.
Her right arm wound tightly around her midsection.
Her orders had been clear.
‘Stay alive!’
How disappointed Salem would be if she saw her right now.
She whimpered quietly when Pyrrha withdrew her hand. Another sigh sounded through the otherwise silent room.
“Cinder…please”, the maiden could hear her plead, “you need to eat something.
Drowsily Cinder turned her head and immediately cursed herself for doing so.
The honesty behind the redhead’s emerald green eyes was overwhelming.
‘Destiny…’
It’s what tied them together.
An unbreakable bond predetermined before both of them were even alive.
Cinder hated it. The power it had over her.
She knew Pyrrha felt it as well. This pull.
That was probably even the reason she tried to rehabilitate the maiden in the first place.
It was disgusting really!
She didn’t need some heroic savior, especially if she came with a blonde dimwit who wanted to play Huntsman.
Yet…the dark haired girl couldn’t help but to answer, her voice sounding raspy and weak even to her own ears.
“I’m not…hungry…”
Well…that wasn’t entirely the truth, but she was in no mood to explain to Pyrrha that she hadn’t been able to contain any food she brought her inside.
She’d rather not eat at all than throwing it up all over again.
That had never happened when Sa-
‘No!
Don’t go there!
I need to endure this!’
“Cinder!”
Oh by the gods!
Why did this girl refuse to take a hint and leave already?
Cinder groaned again. This time more from the pain than any real annoyance.
She just wanted to be left alone and be able to sleep.
Instead, she found Pyrrha sitting on the edge of her bed, taking the bowl of soup the maiden had ignored into her hands, stirring it quietly with a stern expression on her face.
“You need your strength”, the redhead said firmly, holding a spoonful of the warm substance under her nose, as her eyes softened and her tone became almost pleading, adding a soft: “Please”, at the end.
The smell of the soup was overwhelmingly strong and made Cinder’s stomach churn unpleasantly.
Her eye widened comically, as she had to abruptly sit up, the horridly sweet taste in her mouth making her nauseous. Heaving heavily, she did her best to fight against this horrible feeling, ignoring Pyrrha’s panicked expression, who had jumped from the bed in a hurry.
The spoon hit the floor with a loud clang, only accompanied by the sound of retching when the dark haired girl vomited the rest of the meal she had been forced to eat last.
Tears shot into Cinder’s eye.
It hurt so much…
She just wanted it to end already…
A hand rubbing her back helped to ease the cramps wrecking her body, allowing her to catch her breath.
“I will get the doctor to check on you tomorrow.”
It was probably meant to show how much the redhead cared about her, but it did nothing to quell the sudden horror that gripped Cinder’s hard like a tightly wound snake.
Ripping herself away she stumbled backwards, glaring at the persistent girl that dared to call herself her destiny.
“I- I’m fine…”, she wheezed out in between gasps.
This outburst had cost her way too much of her remaining energy. Drained, she wavered back to the bed, almost immediately curling up under the blanket again.
She felt hot…feverish.
Her eye so heavy that she couldn’t keep it open any longer.
“Salem”
With that Cinder had fallen into a restless sleep, drifting in and out of consciousness, sometimes shivering madly from the cold, sometimes from the heat, sometimes even from…very weird shaky motions rattling through her body as if she was being carried far far away, but what really roused her from her slumber was a…familiar smell.
A feeling of…warmth.
Of…
‘Home?’
Her golden eye flew open.
Through her blurry vision she was able to make out…nothing?
Or to be accurate, she seemed to be buried against someone, obscuring her view, making it appear just as dark.
It was strange. Cinder should be panicking right now.
Who knows who got a hold of her and where she was hauled off to?
But…something about this felt…comfortable.
Even her fever seemed to have gotten down a bit, making everything so much more bearable.
“Is she going to be okay?”
The voice was rather muffled, but she was still able to recognize it as Pyrrha’s.
Did she drag her to a doctor after all?
A pang of fear rushed through her body, making her shiver violently.
She couldn’t-
They couldn’t find out…
“Maybe you should have asked yourself that before separating her from an integral part of her body.”
Cinder froze.
It couldn’t be…
There was no way…
“This horrendous arm you gave her had to go.
It was making her sick!”
Pyrrha sounded beyond mad at this point, but the dark haired girl was still too shaken, subtly straightening her back to make sure she hadn’t imagined the other voice in the…room?
“Are you so sure about that?”, the other person sighed, an action that Cinder could feel very well through her whole, tired body, along with a familiar hand caressing her dark hair.
“In the end it does not matter. The damage has already been done.”
The maiden’s heart skipped a beat.
Shifting against the person holding her, she entangled her right hand into black, soft fabric, possibly alerting them to her, but she didn’t care.
She needed to know.
To see…
“What are you even talking abou-?”
“Hush!”
The hold on Cinder’s hair slackened, as she was coaxed out of the deep embrace, finally laying eyes on the one she craved in her dreams above all else.
“How are you feeling, Firefly?”
‘Firefly…’
It had been so long since she last had heard that nickname.
“Am…am I…dreaming?”
Cinder’s voice was raspy and almost inaudible and yet lying in the arms of her beloved master was making that fact completely irrelevant.
“Cinder, you’re awake!
I’ve been so worried.”
She heard Pyrrha’s words, the relief in them almost palpable, but she couldn’t stop staring in disbelief at the person sharing the bed with her.
“Salem?”
All of Salem’s followers had been separated, not allowed any kind of contact between them, let alone knowing what had happened to their master…outside from being aware that she still had to be alive.
It was all part of their punishment and rehabilitation.
But here she was, Salem, her master, her…
With a knowing smile, Salem placed a hand against her cheek, caressing it lovingly.
“I was told you were being unwell, Firefly.”
Cinder’s hand flew to her stomach almost on its own accord, the redhead’s presence all but forgotten for the moment.
The more her consciousness returned to her, the more she also felt the addled pain it brought along, the burning of her eye and what was left of her left arm, the pounding in her head, the overall aching and sore throat…
“My arm”, the maiden managed to croak out, clinging to Salem for dear life, “they took my arm and they will take it too.”
Her voice became more and more frantic, as her mind began to paint gruesome pictures.
“They don’t care.
They’ll never understand.
We have to protect our-”
With a gentle finger on her lips, Salem stopped her jumbled chatter, making her roll on her back with a soft nudge. Turning her head to Pyrrha, she motioned at something Cinder couldn’t quite make out.
To be honest…now that she stared at the ceiling…she didn’t even know where she was.
A nagging part inside her chided her for not paying closer attention to the details around her so she could use that knowledge at a later time, but she was way too drained.
“Hand me that vial, girl.”
Hesitating shortly, the redhead did as she was told, stepping closer to the bed to give Salem what she asked for. She seemed rather uncomfortable to be here, her gaze flitting from Cinder to the vial and back again with very apparent concern in her eyes.
Did Pyrrha bring her here?
If so…how?
‘And why?’
Before Cinder had the chance to voice her questions the now opened vial was placed against her mouth.
“Drink, child, this will make your pain more endurable.
It will combat your fever and give you back your strength.”
Pulling herself up with her right hand, the maiden gulped the liquid down to its very last drop.
It strangely tasted like simple water, nothing special about it…and yet she immediately felt somewhat better. Out of the corner of her eye she could see Pyrrha narrowing her emerald green ones.
It was curious how contrasting they were to Salem’s.
Warmth flooded through her body, as pain ebbed away, making her sigh out loud contently.
She sank back against the pillows she had been laying on the whole time, robbing towards her master, seeking her warmth.
Salem would be able to fix this. Her trust in her was absolute.
She understood them, her, like no one else could.
Her vision clouded, as sleep tried to claim her once more.
Do you believe in destiny?
Red hair and green eyes flashed through her inner eye.
Pyrrha…
The invincible girl…who tried so hard to give her another chance at life…
Her soulmate…
She would never admit it, but…she felt safe in the redhead’s presence.
Cinder reached tiredly for Pyrrha’s hand, tugging on it weakly.
Following her wordless invitation, Pyrrha crawled onto the bed as well, running her thumb over the back of the dark haired girl’s hand carefully.
Managing a weak smile; Cinder whispered a breathless:
“Thank you.”
Before drifting off into a light sleep.
She only heard snippets of the following conversation, as she slipped away completely.
“What did you____?
And how? Did ____ ____ the consequences?
Was it even____?”
“I believe that is quite irrelevant, isn’t it?
We all know what will happen if the secret is revealed.
The real question is…what will you do about it, Pyrrha Nikos?”

Since she had regained consciousness several months ago, Cinder’s life had been filled with pain. The loss of her eye, the following amputation of her arm, her burned throat and now the foreign grimm arm stuck to her limb, refusing to listen to her commands.
She just wanted it to stop.
Even with pain numbing medicine a day was torturous to endure.
Was this supposed to be her life now?
‘No!’
Not again!
Never again!
Sitting on her bed she unwrapped the bandages from her left hand, revealing the stubborn claw it hid from the world. Placing it on her lap, the maiden couldn’t help but scowl.
She took a deep breath, focusing all her will to command it, to move, even twitch for all she cared. Just...something she had control over.
...nothing.
With a frustrated growl, Cinder tugged her feet underneath her body and leaned against her pillow. Grasping the grimm claw at its wrist with her right hand she tried it again and again...and again.
Her breathing became ragged and almost painful.
‘Why?’
Why wasn’t it listening to her?
She was a maiden.
She was powerful now, so why?
“MOVE ALREADY!”
It was as if a fire had erupted inside her. Her throat throbbed painfully, refusing to die down, as each new breath felt like thousands of tiny needles prickling against her sensitive skin.
At the same time her own grip had become less than gentle, violently digging her nails inside the black shadowy claw that was now supposed to be a part of her.
A loud scream almost pierced her head.
Something that wanted to escape...
Something that wanted to split her mind in half...
‘Hmmmm...’
She couldn’t help but whimper silently, drawing her limbs together tightly, as she curled into a ball, trying to soothe the persistent ache spreading through her body.
“That was a rather foolish idea, don’t you think?”
Salem!
Cinder felt her presence as soon as she had entered her room, but she didn’t dare to open her eye...
She already looked pitiful enough she imagined.
No need to embarrass herself any further in front of her master.
The sound of footstep drew nearer. The maiden tried to pinpoint their direction, but before she could successfully do so, she could feel the bed dip slightly and a soft, cool hand started to caress her forehead.
The touch didn’t do much to dispel the pain cursing through Cinder’s entire body, but it did help to quell the burning and screaming a bit.
A shuddered breath escaped her lips, as she desperately tried not to move or make a sound.
She didn’t want to inflame her throat even more.
“You really need to keep your temper in check, Firefly...at least for now.”
Salem’s voice was like an anchor, tethering her to the here and now, a world outside the flames that wanted to consume her whole.
Something shifted against her...something warm.
She was tugged towards it, a feat that almost managed to make her cry out in pain again and send tears into Cinder’s right eye.
If there was something Cinder couldn’t stand…aside from losing control, it was disorientation.
Hesitantly she opened her eye, blinking through her blurry vision…and felt her face flush hotly.
‘What in the-?’
If she had ever imagined herself to be on Salem’s lap, buried against her chest…this surely wouldn’t have been how it played out.
Adding embarrassment into the mix of pain that wrecked her body certainly wasn’t pleasant and her master’s quiet laughter only managed to send more shudders done her spine…
From the sound or the vibrations she couldn’t tell, she only knew it added to her discomfort.
“I realize now that my expectations of you were…unfair.
For you to master your new powers you need to be free of all ailments.
The pain only hinders your growth.”
Cinder listened intently. Being this close to her master was a tad distracting, and yet her back straightened on her own accord to manage to catch every word.
There was something about how she said it…
She couldn’t quite put a finger on it though.
Salem seemed to interpret her reaction as approval to continue, letting a hand run through Cinder’s unruly hair, while the other was…shifting and rustling something soft around.
She didn’t dare to try and spot what exactly it was she was doing.
Not that she could have even if she wanted to.
“I decided on a new treatment for you.
I am confident this will help you recover at a much faster pace.”
‘Faster recovery?’
The maiden would give anything to feel normal again…or as normal as she could right now.
She tried to make a sound, to use her voice despite the burning inside it, but Salem shushed her…almost gently and turned her face around, softly guiding against smooth, pale flesh.
‘Wh-ha-hmm??’
Blushing brightly, Cinder tried to squirm away subconsciously.
Away from her master’s exposed breasts.
Was she hallucinating?
Did the constant pain drive her crazy in the end?
Salem surely wouldn’t…
“Hush girl, be still.”
The older woman’s grip on her became firmer, holding her in place and yet there was a certain…affection to it.
“I need you to drink from me, Cinder.”
‘…DRINK?!’
The dark haired girl’s eye widened.
How could she…?
There was no way…
Her thoughts were a jumbled mess.
Salem had to see just how red Cinder was at that prospect.
Why would she suggest such a thing?
Was that even possible to…she couldn’t even finish that thought.
It was ridiculous…and yet Salem waited patiently for her to calm down again, keeping her close.
“I am aware this is unlike anything I ever asked of you, but this is the only other option I can offer. It is either this…or the actual healing period.”
The actual healing period…
A year and a half is what Watts had said.
A year and a half full of pain.
A year and a half without being able to vocalize her thoughts.
A year and a half of her being weak and frail.
Depending on others to get by, to clothe, to bathe, to walk, to…feed…
Swallowing harshly against the lump in her throat, Cinder’s eye rested on the dark nubs that build a stark contrast between the incredibly pale mounds surrounding them.
…should she really…?
“I won’t force you, Firefly.”
She could feel the grip on her loosen, the decision now resting solely on her shoulders.
Pain echoed dully inside her, promising a swift return at a later time.
‘I hate it!’
With a grimace, the dark haired girl nuzzled hesitantly against Salem’s right breast, liking her dry lips nervously. Squeezing her eye shut she darted forward, her mouth closing around a dark nipple, as she gave it an experimental suck.
Her master’s hand had found the way into her hair again, gently tugging at a few loose strands.
This whole situation was just too overwhelming!
She needed to get it over with…now!
Cinder sucked on the sensitive nub again, this time way harder than before and while Salem seemed rather indifferent to it, something…sweet hit her tongue.
Swallowing the strange liquid she repeated the motion.
The milk…if you wanted to call it that, tasted unlike anything Cinder ever tasted before.
The sweetness had something…addicting to it.
She took another sip.
Something…
She shifted against Salem, running her tongue over her nipple almost teasingly.
Cinder was hot.
The milk running down her throat felt heavenly, relieving her of the burning ache that had resided there, extinguishing it completely.
Her body felt light. Pleasurable shudders ran down her spine, making her back arch in tandem with the soft tingles traveling through her veins.
‘I…need…’
More!
She needed more.
Cinder shifted her position again, straddling Salem in the process, her hands pressing against her shoulders, as she confined her master to the pillows beneath her.
Releasing the nipple with a loud plop, the dark haired girl panted heavily, her eye glazed over, as she mustered the older woman with open hunger. Ignoring the clear amusement in those crimson eyes, her mouth descended on Salem’s other breast, lavishing on it with needy nips and bites.
“Hmmmnn….”
The soft purr let Cinder come to an abrupt halt, as she glanced up once more.
Salem had her eyes closed, a rather peaceful expression on her face.
The maiden couldn’t help but drink in the sight before her.
It was so fascinating…
So…
‘Beautiful.’
There was a storm inside her. A fiery one that made her dizzy with hunger.
A different kind this time.
She lapped at her master’s breast, desperately trying to elicit more such noises from her, while drinking as much as she could from her.
Her ears were ringing, any kind of pain long forgotten, as one of her hands trailed over pale, soft skin.
As soon as it came into contact with Salem’s other breast, Cinder couldn’t help but relish at the tender feeling, rubbing her thumb along the sensitive nub, which stood rock hard seeking attention.
“Hmmm…Cinder…”
The sigh filled the dark haired girl with a longing too hard to resist.
Without being able to stop herself she bit down on Salem’s nipple that still spilled its sweet milk into her mouth, causing the hand in her hair to firmly tug her away.
But instead of furious, crimson eyes there was only more amusement found in her master’s gaze.
“Now you are just being greedy”, she said, entirely too pleased with herself.
If these words were supposed to be a warning, they did nothing to dispel the fire inside the maiden. In a fruitless attempt to get back to the older woman’s round mounds, her left hand sneaked from her master’s shoulder, only to be intercepted by a gentle but firm grip.
Annoyance flashed through Cinder’s eye, balling her hands into fists, as she met Salem’s knowing gaze with frustration.
That is until she arched her right eyebrow and tapped lightly on the girl’s left wrist.
‘What does she-?’
Following her gaze a fresh wave of clarity hit her, when she examined the grimm claw speechlessly. She loosened the digits and watched in wonder when the hand obliged.
Just like that she was able to extort control over it like she never had before.
‘How?’
Her eye found Salem’s again, who observed her with something akin to a lazy smile.
“It seems like I was right in my assumptions after all.”
Her voice sounded far away and yet crystal clear as if it was originating from inside Cinder herself.
“Which is why you will remain by my side as we continue your treatment.”
Leaning forward, Cinder captured Salem’s lips. She had expected to be stopped by her master, to be chided again, but instead the older woman deepened the kiss, stilling the hunger that had eaten away at the dark haired girl.
This felt so much better than the pain she had had to endure for so long.
“Yes”, she rasped contently.
She would get back on her own two feet in no time.
Salem would make sure of that.

A Spark of Terror
It is not that Cinder expected to be forgiven right away.
She knew she would have to take responsibility for her failure at Haven…
For being blinded by her own petty desire for revenge.
So when she ran into Hazel, Emerald and Mercury on her way as she tried to track down that pesky little band of children, she thought she’d be able to rectify her mistake. But as soon as they lost any trace of half of their group, who had apparently gotten lost after they boarded a train to Argus, she knew her luck had run out…
…which also meant that they had to return to Salem empty handed.
She knew she couldn’t stall her punishment any longer…
She just never expected it to be the beginning of the end for her.
Being on her knees was not something she enjoyed, nor did she want to be used to it.
The stone clad floor always felt so unnaturally cold to her.
She didn’t dare to look up, not while she wasn’t being directly addressed. Closing her eye for a short moment, she tried to calm her racing heart.
This wasn’t the first time she had failed and would be submitted to some form of punishment.
It would be fine…
‘But you never failed this spectacularly before’
The thought crept up to her before she could stop it and threatened to take her remaining breath away.
No, she had to keep control, she had-
A muffled clicking sound interrupted the deafening silence of the hall.
Almost rhythmically, it grew louder and louder, and with each step that was heard, Cinder tensed more and more until it abruptly stopped…right in front of her.
Keeping her eye trained on the pitch black stone, she braced herself for the inevitable…
Only to hear a disappointed sigh.
“Just what am I going to do with you, Cinder?”
‘…what?’
In her surprise she nearly made the mistake to look up.
That…was an unexpected reaction for sure, but it only added to her bad feeling.
“I originally wanted to wait longer, for you to lose this childish, immature streak, but…you proved to me time and time again, that my teachings are lost on you in your current state.”
What…was that supposed to mean?
Cinder tried to suppress a cold shudder that threatened to run down her spine after these words.
Was this it?
Was Salem going to replace her now?
She almost flinched, as suddenly a white pale hand seized her chin and tilted it upwards, forcing Cinder to look into those unspeakable crimson eyes she had both, come to trust and fear.
“Do you still want the power I promised you?”
A loud gasp could be heard right next to her, causing the Fall Maiden’s gaze to flit to her subordinate. Unlike her fellow teammates who sat more or less comfortably at their seats, Emerald and Mercury had to stand beside her, as they were her responsibility, as Watts had pointed out. In reality he probably had only wanted to see her kneel before them…that old coot.
Feeling the piercing gaze of her master on her, she realizes with sudden clarity that she had been quiet far too long. Turning her attention back to the woman towering over her, she nodded softly.
“…of course…”
She hated how her voice sounded so small right now, but her answer, at the very least, got Salem to release her grip on her. Motioning for Cinder to rise, she slowly stepped around her, causing Emerald to fidget nervously.
“Then I believe it is time to show you your destiny.”
“My…destiny…”
‘Run!’
Stomping down her bad feeling, she got back to her feet, glancing at her seated teammates, who looked as puzzled by the whole ordeal as she was.
A small relieve.
“Wait!”
The moment that word, this command, left her lips, she froze.
She hadn't meant to give Salem an order...or well...to sound like she gave her one. Even her teammates stared at her with incredulous looks on their faces.
All aside from Tyrian who seemed ready to murder her on the spot now.
"You dare to raise your voice at our divine savior, you ungrateful-?"
"Enough!"
Salem's voice cut through the air, so sharp and clear that even Cinder didn't dare to make another sound, swallowing the lump that had formed in her throat when her master's attention veered back to her once more.
"Speak, Cinder", she said so impossibly soft, that it caused the maiden's hair to stand on end, "What concerns do you have?"
So much for her bravado. Cinder breathed in deeply, trying to keep her face as unreadable as possible, as she desperately thought of a convincing enough argument.
This is a rewrite from a Witchfire rp I did with @hoepunkausta. I might do more if it if there is demand XD
