What is a fandom?
Imagine that girl in elementary school that never stopped talking about horses in a class with 1700 other girls who are obsessed with horses in a class about horses

Love how tumblr has its own folk stories. Yeah the God of Arepo we’ve all heard the story and we all still cry about it. Yeah that one about the woman locked up for centuries finally getting free. That one about the witch who would marry anyone who could get her house key from her cat and it’s revealed she IS the cat after the narrator befriends the cat.

(I literally posted something like this before I saw you already did TvT)
Wylan became a part of the dregs a few months before the events of soc, so technically he and Matthias would be reversed, but it makes more sense for them to be in the order you put them in.
This is actually way better than what I wrote in the first place so thanks lol
Rereading that old crows rhyme and-

Three for a wedding
Four for birth
Five for silver
Six for gold
Seven for a secret never to be told

Grishaverse Characters as Song Lyrics Part 5
I wake up screaming from dreaming
One day I'll watch as you're leaving
Cause you got tired of my scheming
(For the last time)
It's me,
Hi,
I'm the problem it's me-
At teatime, everybody agrees
I'll stare directly at the sun
But never in the mirror
It must be exhausting
Always rooting for the anti-hero.
Kaz Brekker
- Taylor Swift, Anti-Hero

Story idea:
An angel falls in love with a demon. God, furious, casts them out of heaven, sentencing them to a human life on earth.
A demon falls in love with an angel. The Devil, furious, casts them out of hell, sentencing them to a human life on earth.
They move into the apartments across from each other.

I mentioned this vaguely a bit ago but I think each of Inej's six knives can be argued to all match up to one of the crows. You can probably swap a few of them and some are stronger than others, but:
Petyr: archers, reknowned for his bravery = Inej; 'the heart is an arrow', 'lovely and brave and better...', and it was her first knife, a gift from Kaz
Lizabeta: flowers and gardens = Matthias; the yellow tulips, laid out in the Van Eck garden
Alina: orphans and undiscovered gifts = Nina, who was raised in an orphanage and fought in the Second Army like Alina, and has a very new and undiscovered gift after parem alters her power
Marya: those far from home = Wylan, the runaway; plus his mother's name is Marya!
Anastasia: the sick = Jesper; there are many kinds of sickness, and both were grisha in hiding with their father after their mother's death
Vladimir: the drowned, unlikely achievement = Kaz, birthed (...) in the harbour, emerged to repeatedly achieve the impossible

Grishaverse Characters as Song Lyrics Part 4
I'm standing on a tightrope, alone.
I hold my breath a little bit longer-
Halfway out the door, but it won't close.
I'm holding out hope for you to-
Say "don't go."
I would stay forever if you say "don't go."
Say Don't Go, Taylor Swift
-Inej Ghafa, to Kaz
"Speak, she begged silently. Give me a reason to stay. For all his selfishness and cruelty, Kaz was still the boy who had saved her. She wanted to believe he was worth saving too."

The thing I love most about Kaz and Inejs relationship is how they know their worth. Inej knows her worth. She loves Kaz, but she will not offer herself to him without him returning it. She knows he cares for her, but she also knows he won’t touch her. And she’s fine with it, but if he can’t tell her why, then she can’t be with him. “I will have you without your armor, or I won’t have you at all” or smth like that. And Kaz. He knows, or should I say rather, he thinks, he’s not good enough for Inej. But instead of going, oh well I suck I’ll never be good enough for her tough luck I’ll just let her go, or saying I’ll still be with her, she loves me she’ll stay, he says I know I don’t deserve her now, or maybe ever, but I will work. I will fight for this relationship, for our love. I will better myself so that I can be deserving of her.
And I just love that for them.

Nina: Uh oh
Kaz: What?
Nina: Somebody’s in looooooove
Kaz: Yeah right, I just think Inej is cool. It’s not like I lay awake at night thinking about her.
Kaz, later that night lying awake: Oh no

i feel like "objectively bad" as a descriptor for media was supposed to be a joke term. wasn't it? because, you know, there's nothing "objective" about an opinion on a piece of art. but somehow that jokeyness has gotten lost in translation and now people just seem to believe that it constitutes real media criticism. like they'll sound smarter if they use it to qualify every opinion they have. "yeah, it's objectively bad, but I love it" how can you love something that is objectively bad? how can a piece of media truly fail if it is loved by someone? how can something created for the purpose of entertainment be "objectively bad" despite its ability to entertain? why are you so ashamed to love something?

maybe I'm reading into this too hard but... we clown on kaz for the sheer irony of “the trick is not to love anything, rollins", and considering this is not long after the bathroom scene, yeah lol, HOT bit of irony there. but... kaz said the trick.
yes, the overt meaning is the strategy, the way to do it, but... kaz said the trick, and this is kaz 'nothing up my sleeves' brekker, the sleight of hand magician. I think he meant that it only has to look that way. you'll see what kaz damn well wants you to see; he knows how to constantly turn up the face of the dirtyhands card while never letting you get so much as a look at kaz rietveld, even if he's somewhere in the deck. it's all about illusions, street magic, trickery! rollins' mistake was not loving his son, it was making it too visible, accidentally showing his hand. you only have to think the coin has disappeared; you can't see the coin, or the card, or the woman in the box, but they haven't really vanished. they're still there, somewhere, slipped away to maintain the illusion. kaz's love isn't visible, anymore... but that doesn't mean it's nonexistent.
(incidentally, what is kaz's greatest trick, if not finding the girl who seems to have vanished?)
