I agree that Dot would be one to show affection through touch more than Lance too, along with your interpretation in general.

About the reason for Dot’s trauma:

Throughout the series, we’ve seen Dot throw himself out there for his friends. During the Magia Lupus arc, he blocks the stone guys attack for Finn; For the Tri-Wizard tournament arc, he does it for Mash. In the training arc, he’s even said he isn’t afraid of death or being used as sacrifice.

Then there’s Lance. He’s strong, he’s never been put in a truly life threatening situation in the manga before this because he can stand his own ground. In the training arc, he doesn’t struggle; He never needed to.

Dot knows that Lance is better than him in every way; looks, grades, power, charisma, he has it all. Just before the fight, he asks Dot not to drag him down.

So why then did he sacrifice himself , throw himself out as a human shield for Dot?

If anyone were to die it should’ve been Dot, if anyone should’ve been fodder it should’ve been Dot. To the audience at the time, this is the second time we actually see someone die. Among all the other sacrifices, this was the one that looked closest to death. Hell, it was put into a cliff hanger for us and we assume that he was dead before Dot activated his power. To Dot, he cannot grasp why Lance would do this. This is a fight for Lance’s sister, it’s personal, HE’s dragging HIM down. If anyone should die, it should’ve been him. So why?

In the end of that fight, Dot genuinely didn’t know if Lance was dead or not. It happened in front of him, he saw the metal go THROUGH Lance’s body; and for what? Friendship that they barely knowledge?

Lance was saved by the pins under his jacket, how close is that ? He could’ve died here? They hurry to fight Doom, fight a little with each other too. Then after that was the Innocent Zero fight, where Lance has a minute hand PENETRATE THROUGH his abdomen . He bleeds out, Dot was there with everyone else, it’s the second time and he has no sister pins this time. And this time, there’s nothing Dot can do. He’s out of power, out of steam , this guy that he’s recently got closer with dies infornt of him twice. Mash went to heaven for a bit, but he comes back. This second blow to Lance was fatal, he had to wait for Ino Zero to revive him. He’s worry about all his friends of course, Mash fought damn hard to free the magic world.

But Lance would be more personal, simply because it’s happened twice in this short period of time and that the first one happened FOR him. Both of his sacrifices were bloody, just the fights were traumatic, what about the guy that died in front of him for him ?

I think Dot would be more affected by it than Lance would, but doesn’t mean Lance isn’t affected.

A major part of Lance’s story is that he’s trying to save his sister from impending death, which would happen either slowly due to her lack of manic, or if someone like Orter finds out (basically everyone in that society). There’s a sense to be brave for others to Lance, he has to be powerful for his sister, his friends. He’s good at everything and why is that? He has to, he has a strong sense of responsibility. Lance knows what it’s like to lose people, the fear of it. When at the threat of his friends dying, he jumps even with everything is at stake. But he doesn’t regret it, that’s not what he’s scared of.

I think there’d be a sense of “what if” that pops out every now and then, however even if he’s scared he’ll hide it. He needs to be brave.

Dot is the more vulnerable one between them, his confidence isn’t as high as it seems, he’s more emotional. The nightmares would hit Dot harder than they would Lance.

The dreams he have are… a lot , it feels like he’s there again but his . Legs. Wont . Move. He wakes up in a cold sweat, a frenzy. Just the first night he gets back to Easton, he’s tired but his memories are vivid, the lack of reassurance scares him. So he goes to the person who’s been with him through everything in this fight, either to just talk to or for reassurance … he goes to Lance’s dorm.

No one answers when he knocks on his room. He doesn’t go back into his room though.

Going back to his room where it’s quite felt… wrong. Mash fought a lot, he needs his rest; Finn, he’s improved a lot, saved their ass by acting a support and probably has a lot of catching up to do with his kinda estranged brother. But what about him ? Compared to everyone else what did he really do? Go around throwing a few bombs then getting his ass beat? Lance… does everything that he can’t. He’s a burden to even try to find him, yet he stays and sits in front of his dorm room. Social workers are probably an option in Easton, but he needs to talk to someone who was there. He feels like he needs to see Lance to make sure… make sure he’s ok, he feels partially responsible for the damage. There’s chatter in the halls now, where he’s waiting. Everything seems to have changed a little, but it’s good to be somewhere that isn’t so quiet, it’s comforting.

It takes a while for Lance to come back, having to visit his sister everyday now to check on her steady recovery, fill in some paperwork about enrolling her into Easton. The fight is still… tough, it’s fresh on his mind but… everything was fine now, his fight was finally over. It’s relieving at walk back through the hall to his dorm, some people wave at him but he’s tired too. Dot sits curling in on himself outside his door, he’s breathing is a little heavy, his eyes look scared. They don’t exchange words as Lance unlocks the door to let Dot in.

“…You look like shit, more than usual, are you ok?” Lance asks, he’s worried, and Dot lets the flood gates open . Lance holds Dot over and lets him sit on the ledge of his bed. He wanted to get herbal tea to calm Dot’s nerves but the other boy insists he stay, next to him. Dot cries quietly, just sobs and not the loud kind that he cried when they saw Orter again. There’s the occasional sniffle, but no speech, Lance only pats his back slowly. His hand slowly crawls up to Dot’s fluffy red hair, the sobs decline a little as he pulls him closer, Dot leans in and they just stay there for a while…

Eventually, Dot calms down. He goes back to his room and they don’t talk about it the next day.

But… he comes back. Dot craves physical touch and who is Lance to decline him this sense of comfort?

It’s one of the reasons they became roommates afterwards

Question for landot... would they cuddle?

I'm really asking cause I'm not surethey seem they would but wouldn't at the same time

I feel that dot would ( i feel it would be his love language) but wouldn't do it just in case lance doesn't like it. And I'm stuck on lance if he would let it happen or not he's kind yeah but the other side of him with dot seems like he wouldn't let it happen (I'm not sure what I'm going with this)

But maybe it would happen after the fight with eppend (I don't know how to spell) lance would go to dot room because he's not able to shake the thought of seeing dot one almost getting hurt I mean he knows he saved him and that he's alive (thanks to Ann) but what would have happened if he didn't that would be in his mind so he just needs to see dot's fine maybe that will clam his nerves so he walks up to his dorm and is about to peep when the door flies open and dot just looks at him his look was sharp looking up and down and walks off leaving the door open and walks up to a small table in his dorm (lance enters) and they just sit in silence not saying a word but enjoying (even if a bit of there company) each other's company. And somehow they end cuddling just like that but none of them say anything there just talking about the fight and how there friends did and lance just says something about him being glad he alive and dot just stops and think for a bit and says he's glad as well an-
