pairing: Simon "Ghost" Riley x fem!reader words: 3k tags: death. blood. cannibalism mention. zombies of course. AFAB reader. single dad ghost. there will be sex but it isn't here yet. slow burn!!! enemies to lovers. summary: After losing your companions, you run into a skull-masked man and his daughter. They are your last hope for survival.
"Twix."
Blue says your name in a single exhale of relief. You didn't expect her to be awake. She sits with her legs outstretched by a barely-there fire as you enter the cabin, the busted door groaning shut behind you. Fatigue sinks you to the floor beside her. You're about to curl your numb hands within the long sleeves of your new jacket, but the burn on your fingers makes you wince from the friction.
“You're filthy." She reaches for your hand, gently inspecting the burn. "And someone hurt you."
"Well, technically, I hurt them."
Blue shakes her head, the tone of her voice hardening the moment she drops your hand. "You shouldn't have gone."
"It was important—"
"It was stupid. You saw how those guys tried to kill us!" She huffs out a breath before snapping her gaze back to the flames. "You... you didn't tell me you were leaving. You didn't even say goodbye. I just woke up and you were gone.”
"I didn't want to wake you this morning because you needed rest,” you reason.
"That's a shitty excuse," she grumbles back, gesturing to the pink bracelet on her wrist. "I may not have a lot of friends, but I do know they're supposed to tell each other things like this."
Your eyes trail down from the burnt skin on your fingers, red and bubbly, to the cheap, plastic beads encompassing your wrist.
"You're right," you speak softly. "I should have told you."
A few minutes lapse in thick silence. In the midst of it, you swallow a few chalky pills to help with all the pain. You've been conservative in using them so far, but with your additional score of medicine, you figure you can afford some relief. There's no way you'll be able to sleep with your bitten wrist throbbing incessantly.
You're about to lean against the wall and let your eyes flutter shut when Blue speaks again, this time her voice so quiet you wonder if you're imagining it.
"You know, I was excited to go on this trip," she whispers, still looking at the fire. "I even secretly hoped we'd run into other people, just because—" she pauses to swallow, "—because I never get to meet any. And the ones we have met, my dad always kills. Except for you."
She drags her sleeve over her face and it’s now you notice she is crying. A knot forms in your throat and, after the day you've had, you struggle to find the right words.
"He kills them for a reason," you settle on, voice equally hushed. "A lot of people are—"
"A threat, I know." Blue repeats the words like a bitter mantra, then looks at her bandaged leg. "What does it feel like?" she asks after a moment, sliding her glossy eyes to yours. “Killing a person. Ghost told me it feels just like killing an animal or a Grey."
You inhale, then fix your stare to the dark ceiling. "No— I don't think it feels the same. It's much worse. I still get sick from it,” you admit.
"How many have you killed?"
"I don't remember anymore, but not that many." Certainly not as many as Ghost has. "It was always in self-defense. Always because I had to."
"I wish nobody ever had to," she says.
"I know. Me, too.”
With a sigh, she carefully scoots closer to you. "I'm sorry for getting mad. I just want to go home.”
"Don't be sorry. I’m the one who is sorry." You shake your head and offer her a shoulder until both of you have your backs against the wall. Her hair tickles your cheek. A small hand slips around your waist in a tender embrace, her fingers latching onto the fabric of the jacket. The sore muscles of your core flex instinctively from the touch before you finally force yourself to relax. It’s just Blue.
"Your dad says we're going back tomorrow,” you whisper, jaw grazing the crown of her head. “Sleep. It'll be a long day again."
"A long day for you maybe," she murmurs against your shoulder. "I get to ride on his back."
"Lucky you." You drape the heavy blanket over your bodies. Together you are warmer, if only by a little.
Tumblr media
Deft wind whooshes through the trees, kissing your wet skin. Splotches of wriggling orange and red follow the water's current, along with a trail of brown muck as you scrub your breasts, hair, and cheeks. The sight of fish makes your stomach grumble. It's been far too long since you've had anything but squirrel and deer and berries, but this is not the time or place to ponder a way to catch one. The blue wash of early morning lightens with each second that passes. You wring out your hair, rewrap your wrist, and put your clothes back on before carefully climbing up the slope, satisfied enough with your icy bath.
"Ready," you announce, blowing a white breath into your hands and rubbing them together. Ghost crouches down so Blue can teeter onto his back. The backpack full of ammo hugs his front. He appears exceptionally bulky with all the baggage, and yet, he makes it look effortless.
Together, you head towards the infamous bridge, if one could call it that. Silvery fog makes it hard to see more than ten meters ahead of you, but Ghost seems to have the area memorized. Your hands ball up in your pockets, feeling empty and useless. With no bow, you have to rely on Ghost to get you back. It's a weird thing. Though, you suppose if there's anyone you'd want to be stuck out here with, it would be him. His presence alone offers more safety than the measly knife around your ankle.
"Ghost, we should go behind her," Blue says when you reach the beam.
He steps aside to allow you on first. "Try not to go for a swim this time."
A flush of pink bites your cheeks, though you blame it on the cold. It's hard to believe just four days ago you slipped off this thing. With his hands preoccupied, Ghost can't hold onto your shoulders like before, but he lingers close behind and repeatedly orders you to keep your eyes on the bank.
Once you're all across, a calm quiet settles, a vast contrast to how talkative Blue was the first time around. It makes you absentmindedly pick the skin around your nails. By the time you reach the road, you've looked behind your shoulder at least ten times, half-expecting to spot a burnt face hiding among the trees. Squirrels prattle by. A starling calls above your head. But no people. You force your eyes onward and take a deep breath.
"So, uh, would you rather get mauled by a bear," you break the silence, stepping over a stray tire, "—or be struck by lightning?"
It takes a second for Blue to respond. "Oh. That's a good one. Do I have a gun while the bear attacks me?"
"No. No weapons. Just you and the bear."
"Then lightning." She pats Ghost's shoulder. "Could you take a bear?"
"On a good day, maybe," he answers.
"What about you, Twix?"
"No," you instantly scoff, kicking at a rock. "A bear would rip me apart. I would choose lightning because it'd be quick."
"Okay, I have one," Blue quips. "Would you rather be ripped in half, or fall off a tall building?"
"Ripped in half by what?" Ghost asks, tilting his head back.
"It doesn't matter." You can hear the roll of her eyes.
"It does matter. Might change my answer."
"Fall off a building," you interject. "The way down would suck, but I bet you don't feel a thing once you hit the ground."
"But you'd look like a dead bug," says Blue.
"I don't care what I look like. I'll be dead."
Ghost clears his throat. "My turn, then."
"No! You have to pick one," she exclaims.
"Building," he drawls. A shadow of movement passes to the right of you. You naturally flinch closer to them, but it's just a doe hunkering down tall weeds that reach out of the concrete. A chuff of breath leaves your lips as you look away, only to find Ghost staring at you. For a few seconds, his eyes flicker between you and the deer before he goes back to focusing straight ahead.
"Would you rather," he begins, "—chop off all your fingers, or take out your own eyes?"
"What do I use to take out my eyes?" Blue asks.
"Knife."
"I guess my eyes," she winces. "I mean, I'd rather get rid of two things than ten."
They both glance at you expectantly. A frigid gust of northern air takes hold of your hair, so you tuck the unruly strands behind your ears. "Uh, fingers," you decide after a moment. "I could probably live without them."
In the village, the air stinks enough for Ghost to come to a halt. Before, he was able to pass right through. This time, a group of fourteen or fifteen Greys seems to be trapped on the main street between a crumbled wall and a fallen telephone pole. He has to decide between expending ammo or time. It's not long before he nods to a small building and the three of you scale the rusted fire escape. From the safe distance of the roof, he takes out the Greys one by one with an accuracy that barely leaves a dent in the ample stockpile of cartridges. With the route cleared, he's saved at least an hour or two of precious daylight.
The fog lifts. The ambery sun tries to peek through the clouds, but the sky is bent on staying grey. By the time you are back, your blisters have blisters. Blue has fallen asleep, cheek smushed against the back of Ghost's neck. Relief, thick and palpable, tastes sweet on your tongue. The fence, the rabbit hutch, the much-cozier cabin; none of it is home to you, but still, it calls your name in a welcoming coo.
You have to aim Ghost's flashlight so he can unlock the gate. Blue stirs, but her eyes remain closed even when he pushes inside the cabin. It's shrouded in darkness. You prop the flashlight on the table as his boots scuffle against the floor.
He puts her to bed. As he does, you feel around for the sofa and nearly choke when your worn fingertips graze shabby fabric. Not icy water or solid wood or muddy ground, but something soft. You're about to sink into it, your bones desperate for the springy cushions, when he returns to the threshold of the hallway with an ugly, flannel sheet in his hands.
"Here."
It's hard to be certain if you thank him or not; your brain conjures up the words, but your voice doesn't seem to function quite right. One thing is certain: you accept the sheet, tuck it on with urgency, and then lay down, burying your face in the crook of the pillow and arm. You kick off your boots and let the darkness take you, swift and heavy. It could be a coma or death disguised as sleep, and you figure you'd still slip into it without fuss.
Tumblr media
Those first days back are quiet. Blissfully uneventful. You sleep and sleep. In fact, you don't move from the couch except to relieve yourself and eat a little. Ghost and Blue don't seem to do much, either. Or maybe you just don't notice.
At one point, you wake up to a small stack of shirts beside the couch. All black. One long sleeve, the rest short. You change into one and continue sleeping.
At another point, Blue hovers above you with a whisper that draws out a groan from you. "Hey. Ghost is making me skin some rabbits. Apparently, it's the only chore I can't get out of. Do you want to help me?"
"I think I'm good." You stuff the pillow over your face to make your point.
"You've been sleeping for three days, you know."
"I could go for another three."
She takes the hint and staggers away. Walking now. You hear her right leg drag a little.
The sleep is good until it's not.
On the fifth night, you're no longer fatigued enough to keep the dreams squandered. They start as whispers. Hoarse and gritty. Then they get louder and louder, shouting your name until they are so loud it feels like someone is screaming in your ear. Different voices blend into an indecipherable cacophony. One screams in pain; another in anger. You feel someone's cold fingers take hold of your neck and are finally pried awake, flying up against the couch with fiery pants burning through your lungs. But all that's there is a dark room.
Sweat clings to every inch of you. It feels like everything is on fire, and all you want to do is cool down. You haven't bathed since the river. Catching your breath, you swing your legs down and quietly pad to the bathroom where you hope a little water is left. Luckily, in the glint of moonlight, you find a bucket used for washing hands and scoop some to your face. Then, you comb it through your sweat-laced hair.
You unwrap your wrist and brush your fingers over the bite. You dab some water on it. You can't see well, but you feel the constellation of congealed scabs beneath your fingertips. Scars. Wounds. Your nostrils flare as a you wonder if one day you'll be so covered in them you won't even look like yourself. It's a good thing there is not enough light to spot the reflection of your face in the mirror, because you're not thrilled to greet the one now on your brow.
On your way out of the bathroom, something solid and immobile blocks your path. You startle backward, sucking in air as you peer up at a masked face. Ghost. It's Ghost. You haven't spoken to him since getting back, and in this moment, you long for the ability to push past him, but his wide shoulders consume the narrow hall.
It's silly to think you can avoid him when you sleep in the same space now. The thing is— you have no idea what to think of him. Before, it was easy to settle on fear of how easily he could snap your neck, and annoyance for how he treated you. And then, when forced to, you could engage in a pragmatic conversation about how to keep yourselves alive.
But now, you don't know what you are supposed to feel around him, and you have spent zero time reflecting on it so far.
"Sorry. I was just, uh, washing my face."
"In the middle of the night?" he rasps, tilting his gaze down.
You teeter back a step, keeping a healthy bubble of space between your bodies. You're not sure why he hasn't just moved out of the way, or what he would be up and about for at this hour, but briefly, you wonder if he is suspicious of you. If after everything you went through, he still thinks you're trying to do something and might send you back to the shed. The three of you relieve yourself outside the cabin since the plumbing doesn't work, so it certainly does seem odd that you'd be in the bathroom during the night.
"I was sweating a lot." Inwardly, you curse at yourself. "I mean, I haven't bathed since we got back, and I..." You trail off in a whisper.
"And you what?"
"I don't know." You fiddle with the hem of the oversized shirt he gave you. "I'm not trying to kill you or your daughter in your sleep, though, if that's what you're thinking."
He simply stares at you. It feels like he can see right through you, and your eyes drop to your wool socks. Then, he murmurs, “I wasn't thinking that."
"Okay," you reply carefully. "Could you... please move, then?"
Finally, he steps out of the way, but you feel the burn of his eyes on your skin as you brush past him.
"Twix."
You pause, looking back. "Yes?"
A shake of his head. And then: "Take a proper bath tomorrow. You could use it.”
You bite the inside of your cheek. "Will do."
With that, you crawl back onto the couch.

Heyo I'm here to request that Male Reader x Winter King you wanted-
Anyways, can you write for a male Reader that used to be Simon and Betty's friend before the crown and the Mushroom War, who randomly shows up in the Land of Ooo? As in, Simon thought that they had died a long time ago, alongside Betty, but the Reader had survived through some odd means and got reunited with him?
Lol, if that's too much, then I'm sorry. It could be a fic or Headcanons, whichever you prefer!

AHJFHJGSKHA HOW DID YOU KNOW I WANTED TO WRITE ABOUT SIMON?? I LOVE THIS WET CAT.
Winter King actually isn't this one, because I wanted to focus on Fionna and Cake ver. Simon
Male reader
Platonic/Romantic (I'm leaving it ambiguous, because I mean, c'mon. It's Simon.)
Type: Headcanons (With a drabble and oneshot mixed in)
Summary: An old friend shows up after a bunch of time-related shenanigans, and is finally ready to settle back down in Ooo. Though this sudden happening is quite a shock to Simon.
⠂⠂⠂⠂⠂⠂⠂⠂⠂⠂
-You used to be an old family friend of Betty's, and met Simon through her.
-Y'all were really close, and they invited you over for dinner every other weekend.
-But one day, you just...
-Vanished.
-Everyone thought you were kidnapped, and Simon and Betty were heartbroken.
-However...
-Through some odd means, you were kept alive for a thousand years.
-It all started one weird day when you bought a little doodad from a garage sale.
-the next thing you knew, you were in a big yellow cube with a pink wall guy.
-Apparently the little thing you bought was an item from another universe, and it was janking up Ooo.
-Aaaaand technically you just committed a serious crime by purchasing the little thing.
-And whether intentional or not, you now had to go on trial for this little accident. You tried to explain what happened, but you were found guilty.
-You were sentenced to a thousand years in some donked up time jail.
-Apparently, you wouldn't age in there, and a thousand years would pass on Ooo before you were set free.
-It was the worst thing that could've ever happened to you.
⠂⠂⠂⠂⠂⠂⠂⠂⠂⠂
-The time jail kept you from losing your sanity, and a thousand years later, you were released.
-You were teleported back to Ooo, which looked quite different than how you remembered it.
-It felt like an eternity since you've seen rolling green hills and a clear blue sky. An eternity since you've breathed familiar air.
-You heard something, about a hundred yards from you.
-You approached the loud noises to see some buff dude with a sick beard and robotic arm beating up some one-eyed monster.
-He punched the creature, and it was sent flying towards you.
-You ducked, and the dude noticed you.
"Ah, sorry man! Didn't see you there!"
-You assured him it was nothing.
"You're not from around here, are you?"
⠂⠂⠂⠂⠂⠂⠂⠂⠂⠂
You shook your head, then blinked confusedly. Well, technically you were. It had just been 1000 years. You tried to get your story straight, then told the guy.
"Woah, so does that mean you're technically a time traveler?"
You shrugged. Time travel hadn't been proven yet, has it? You weren't sure. You asked the guy his name, so you didn't have to refer to him as just 'the guy.'
"Oh, yeah. Name's Finn. Good ol' Finn the H."
"The H.?"
"Y'know, the Human?"
But you were human too. With all due respect, you asked him about his strange surname.
"Oh, uh.. My real last name is Mertens, but I like 'the Human' better. It's only recently other humans have started living in Ooo. So I'm kinda seen as 'that one human' y'know?"
You nodded, trying to make sense of what he said. what had happened that caused humans to leave Ooo? How was that even possible?
The two of you talked for a short while, and you learned a little bit about Ooo. You were used to knowing a lot, but you barely even recognized this place.
"Oh, you're from the 20th century, right?"
You nodded.
"I've got a friend from then, maybe you'd like to meet him? He's one cool dude."
⠂⠂⠂⠂⠂⠂⠂⠂⠂⠂
-You agreed politely, wondering if this 20th century man would help you adjust to life in whatever century this was. What century was this anyway? 30-something?
-Finn ended up taking you to a scrappy little bar filled with people that looked to be made out of candy.
"Anything you'd like to order?"
"Nothing for me, Dirt Beer Guy. Maybe he'd like one, but we're just waiting for-"
⠂⠂⠂⠂⠂⠂⠂⠂⠂⠂
"Simon?"
You stared in disbelief at the face of your old friend, who looked at you with the same expression. He was carrying something under his arm, but he dropped it in shock.
"No way, you know him? That's awesome!"
Simon slowly walked up to you, as if afraid you'd disappear at any second. Tears welled up in the both of your eyes, and you had to suppress breaking down right there. It hadn't occurred to you that this 20th century man could've been Simon, but now that you were seeing him, you realized you subconsciously wished it would be him.
He spoke your name softly, not much more than a whisper, as if anything louder would cause reality to shatter, or one of you to wake up from a dream.
"You... You're really here, aren't you?"
You nodded softly, not daring to say a word. Tears spilled out of your eyes, and Finn looked slightly confused.
"Do you guys, uh.... Wanna step out for a minute?"
You agreed, still quietly, saying it would probably be better to not make a scene. Finn gave you a thumbs up and shooed you out, saying he'd wait for you when you got back inside.
You stepped out of the little bar with Simon, realizing it got dark out while you were inside.
"So..."
"How about we take a walk?"
You nodded, falling into step with Simon as you walked into a nice little forest. The small stream rushing by provided ambient noise.
"How are you here..?"
Simon asked, with an air of disbelief. He blinked, wiping his glasses and rubbing his eyes. As if you'd disappear once he'd open them. You explained what happened, and suddenly gasped.
"If you're here, that means Betty must be here too, right? Where is she?"
Simon sighed, bringing his arms up to hold himself.
"She's..."
"She's not."
You decided not to pry, but you couldn't help but notice the sinking feeling in your gut. She was one of your best friends, and she was gone. But she was Simon's fiancee. It must have hit him harder, whatever happened to her. You'd ask later, when the emotional turmoil between the two of you wasn't so fresh.
You walked in peaceful silence between the two of you, listening to the sounds of the stream, or chirping crickets.
You took that time to study Simon, how his appearance changed, and things that stayed the same.
Same fashion sense,
same goofy circle glasses,
even the same walk you remember.
There was a white streak in his hair now.
Wrinkles on his face.
Something about him just seemed so...
Sad.
"You've gotten old."
Simon smiled, though it seemed bitter.
"We both have."
"I missed you, Simon. Not a day went by that I didn't think of you, Betty, or any of our other friends."
Simon stopped walking, and you copied. He seemed as if he was about to cry again. To be honest, you were too. Talking about all of this while looking him in the face didn't fare well for your emotional state.
He took off his glasses, wiping at his eyes. Simon smiled bitterly through it though. He seemed to be so lonely. You wondered where he lived now.
". . ."
He wiped his eyes again, then looked straight at you with an unwavering gaze.
"You have no idea how much we missed you. Even years after you disappeared, we still looked. Even when the police failed, we still-"
He inhaled sharply, breath shaking. He turned his head away, as if ashamed of his emotions.
You placed your hand on his shoulder, trying to provide comfort. Simon suddenly wrapped his arms around you, pressing his face into your shoulder. You returned the embrace, holding onto him just as tightly.
Simon's breath shook, and you softly rubbed his back. You had no idea what he's gone through, and you were genuinely unsure whether you were helping or not.
"Simon..?"
His grip on you loosened, and he looked up at you.
You said nothing else, but you gently rested your forehead on his. He sniffed, then took a deep breath. Your hands fell to his waist, while his rested on your shoulders. Simon closed his eyes, cherishing this small bit of comfort.
After a few moments, Simon pulled away, bringing his fist up to his mouth and clearing his throat.
"W- well, today was certainly... Eventful."
You laughed softly, agreeing with his remark. The two of you walked back to the little bar, realizing you'd gotten farther from it than you thought you did.
Simon cleared his throat yet again, once you reached the outside of the bar.
"Yeah, Simon?"
He thought for a moment, then spoke.
". . .Thank you."

Adult Education Part 7 | Hangman x OC
Summary: Jessica can't get enough of the comfort she feels around Jake, and he can't help but press her to define what they are doing. Everything feels heated and still sweet when they hang out for the day, and when she brings up the alumni event, he's immediately onboard.
Warnings: Fluff, angst, swearing, eventually 18+
Length: 3700 words
Pairing: Jake "Hangman" Seresin x Female OC
This story is part of the Beer Boy and Sugar universe but can be read on its own! Adult Education masterlist
Seriously, who let Jake on my masterlist!? Banner by @mak-32
Tumblr media
Jessica couldn't remember the last time she felt this comfortable and confident around someone else. She had grown into the understanding that her own company was the best company for her, and especially for the past year, she had kept contact with most people to a minimum. Keeping them at a professional arm's length as much as possible. But when she was with Jake, she didn't feel like she needed to be quiet and keep her head down to survive.
"I got pretty much every kind of snack for today," he told her as they stood in his kitchen. "Just because I don't know all of your favorites yet."
Yet. That was the second time he'd made her heart flutter like this. He also told her he was getting attached to her. And now his cheeks were a little pink as she picked up some chips and salsa.
"I told you I'm not picky as long as you have Sam Adams for me."
"I'll make sure I always have it," he promised as he took two bottles out of the refrigerator and followed her to the living room. "You relax and shout to me if anyone scores, okay?"
"Where are you going?" she asked from her spot on the couch as he set the beers down and left again. She noticed the stack of journals she'd given him were sitting near the corner of the coffee table.
"Just going to add everything to the crockpot so we can have dinner later."
Jessica settled back into the cushions and watched him walk away, his shirt hugging his broad shoulders. He was perhaps even more handsome than Brian Conley, which was something she would have never thought possible. When she and Brian were sleeping together, she thought he was the most attractive man she'd ever seen. Ten years older. Gray hair mixed in with chestnut brown. Icy blue eyes. But now she was coming around to the idea of someone her own age, with lighter hair and pretty green eyes.
When Jake returned a minute later and settled down right next to her, even though there was plenty of room, she asked, "How old are you?"
He took the jar of salsa from her hand and opened it as he said, "Thirty. I'd ask you how old you are, but my mom would be really disappointed if she ever learned that I did. So if you'd like to tell me, that's fine, but I'm not asking."
Jessica laughed as she opened the bag of chips and curled her legs up onto the couch so her thigh was resting on his. "How would your mom ever find out anyway?"
Jake scoffed as he scooped salsa onto a chip. "You don't think she's going to want to meet my girlfriend?" He shoved the whole thing into his mouth before grabbing more. "She'd get the information out of you somehow, I'm sure."
She sat there quietly and broke a chip in half before nibbling on it as she tried not to smile. She hadn't been in a relationship since right after grad school. Most guys didn't seem inclined to want to do more than sleep with her. Her brand of nerdy was a hard sell. She was smarter than almost everyone else, she was introverted, and she preferred playing Dungeons & Dragons or reading a book to going out. Well, excluding an evening at Chippy's.
"I'm thirty one," she said softly with a grin.
"Perfect," he replied, casually scooping more salsa onto a chip. "I also wouldn't be upset if you told me if you bought that green underwear you were looking at on your phone."
She started nibbling on the other half of the chip as Jake's arm rubbed hers. "Maybe." He was looking at her out of the corner of his eye before turning away from the football game completely to face her. "Okay... yes, I bought the set," she said, biting her lip. "You're missing the game."
"I don't really care about the game all that much. Like I said before, I think I've gotta be the world's worst Longhorns fan."
"You're terrible," she confirmed as he held out the jar of salsa for her.
His gaze dipped down to her lips. "Why are you so far away?" he asked softly.
She wanted to laugh, because she was practically sitting on his lap. Instead she leaned in and kissed his cheek as she said, "What was I thinking?" Jake's body was big and warm and cozy as he draped his arm around her shoulders. She snuggled in close to him with her cheek resting on his chest. She dipped a chip into the jar he was holding and teased him with it before she shoved it into his mouth.
"Thanks, Baby," he murmured as he chewed it up. Then she took the jar and the chips and set them on the table and grabbed the beers instead. They sat cuddled up, sipping the drinks, and Jake was actually less annoying when the Longhorns scored than she had anticipated. She just relaxed into him as the condensation from her bottle dripped occasionally onto his jeans, but he didn't complain, so she didn't move.
"You want another one now?" he asked, taking her empty bottle in the same hand as his and kissing her hair.
"No," she whispered. "And don't get up. I'm comfortable."
"Okay," he replied softly, leaning forward just enough to let the bottles drop with a thud onto the area rug.
Jessica pushed him back with her palm on his abs, and she bit her lip as she felt his muscles. "I said don't move."
"You're in charge, Reedy."
--------------------------
This was all wildly thrilling for Jake. He was with a beautiful woman who wanted to chill on his couch and run her hand back and forth across his abs while they watched football together. He never did this kind of thing. Ever. This was indulgent in a way he didn't usually operate.
When Jessica looked up at him through her eyelashes, he reached over and adjusted her glasses. Then he felt her hand dip inside his shirt and come to rest just above his jeans, fingers stroking almost to the point of tickling. And he wasn't even watching the game. Maybe it was halftime. He wasn't sure. It didn't matter.
Why did he suddenly want a girlfriend so badly that he kept thinking about it? He was thinking about how this could be a normal weekend for him. And how he could have Jessica curled up with him like this in bed.
He was staring. He knew he was. But so was she. And her small hand was moving across his skin in the most addicting way. "Reedy," he whispered, and that was all it took. She planted her hand with her fingertips inside his jeans, and Jake groaned as she kissed him. When her hand slid up his abs to his chest and pulled his shirt up with it, he wrapped his arm around her waist and pulled her until she was in his lap.
In the deepest recesses of his brain, Jake knew he couldn't let anything too wild happen today. Just kissing. Just like this. But when he let his hand trail down to Jessica's round ass, he realized the fabric of her leggings was thin and that he could feel her thong through it. It felt lacy. He wanted to know what it looked like.
He palmed her a little rougher, until she broke the kiss and rubbed herself against him. "Oh, Jessica," he groaned, taking in the sight of her wide eyes and crooked glasses. She was raking her fingers slowly through his chest hair while Jake squeezed her butt. He couldn't think straight as her lips met his again, and then his hand was up the back of her shirt.
Her skin was so damn soft, and Jake was not going to be able to conceal the fact that he was getting hard for her when her knee kept nudging him through his jeans. Her feather soft kisses were becoming more demanding as she brought her other hand up to ruin his tidy hair. And fuck if he could control himself.
In an instant, she was on her back along the couch with Jake on top of her. She let out a surprised giggle as her head came to rest on the cushion. "This okay?" he asked, kissing along her jaw.
Jessica responded by spreading her thighs so he could settle against her, and Jake had to keep reminding himself that this was a marathon, not a sprint. But her body was warm and inviting, and she was so responsive to his touch. Every gasp from her lips had him pushing his hands a little further up her sides and sucking a little harder on her neck.
"Jake," she moaned, rolling her hips up against him.
"Fuck," he gasped, one hand sliding between her back and the couch as he pushed himself against her this time. Her lips were parted, and she was digging her fingers into his shoulders. Jake moaned when she wrapped one leg around his hip. Her shirt was pushed up almost to her tits, and he wanted to taste all of her skin. But she pulled him close for another kiss, and Jake knew he had to pump the brakes.
He slowed it all down, easing his hand up to her back instead of her perfect ass. He let each kiss taper off until his lips were barely brushing hers. And then he felt her leg slide down from his hip as she took his hand and guided it further up her shirt until he was touching her bra. She chased his lips as he pulled away from her, and now she looked embarrassed.
"Jessica. Not a horny quickie on the couch. Not for our first time together."
"Okay. Right," she whispered, her fingers tracing along his neck. "Do you want to go to your bedroom?"
He kissed her cheek and said, "I think we should save it for another day."
As he slowly let his hand trail down her tummy, she turned her face toward the TV and laughed a little awkwardly. "Is it that obvious that it's been a long time for me? I'm sure that's not the case for you."
He didn't quite know what to say. "No, it's not obvious. And no, you're not wrong," he murmured, his brow creasing as he leaned closer for a soft kiss. Had it really just been two weeks ago that he brought someone home from the bar? "But it has actually been a very long time since someone mattered like you do. So the pacing is kind of important to me."
"You're sweet." A pretty smile touched her lips, and then he let himself kiss her belly before pulling her up so she was sitting and looking at him. Her hair was a little messy, and her glasses were crooked again, and Jake was suddenly afraid he was going to fuck this all up. She adjusted her glasses with the backs of her fingers and leaned in to kiss him one time.
It really was halftime now, and Jake watched her stand and look through the stack of journals on the table. Her voice was still soft and breathless as she glanced at him and asked, "Where's the one with my phone number? I wanted to show you something in the article I wrote."
Jake wanted to laugh or maybe cry. This woman thought he was smart. Well, he knew he was smart, but nobody else ever seemed to care if he was. "It's in my bedroom."
"It's in your bedroom?"
"Yeah," he replied easily. "I'm keeping that one for sure. You can have the rest of the journals back, but not that one. I worked hard for that phone number."
She giggled. "You really did. And you did great. Can I get it out of your room?"
He thought he was going to respond by telling her yes, but instead he suddenly asked, "Are you seeing anyone else?"
Now her expression was surprised as she came to stand between his spread legs, and he looked up at her. "Are you asking me if I'm meeting other men at Chippy's and during my office hours?"
Jake nodded and swallowed hard as she bent at the waist and let her hands rest on his knees. "Yeah. I'm sure Chippy would be delighted to see you with someone else."
"No," she laughed. "I'm not seeing anyone else. Are you?"
"Absolutely not."
"Good." Her hands slid up to his thighs as she kissed him, which was doing nothing to help him get rid of the awkward half erection he was sporting. "Is it cool if I grab the journal from your room?"
"Yeah," he grunted. "You'll see it in there."
When he watched her walk away, he groaned and sprawled out on the couch. He needed to pull himself together, or she would definitely be taking someone else to Chippy's soon.
-----------------------------
To Jessica's immediate delight, she found the journal on Jake's nightstand. It was even folded open to the page with her article and phone number. She picked it up and headed back to the couch where he was sprawled out now with his head propped up on the pillow. Hot, needy sex had sounded delicious twenty minutes ago when he was grinding against her, but when she looked at him right now, she knew that's not what she needed. She'd had plenty of that in Brian's office and the backseat of his SUV.
She didn't want to think about him. Not when Jake was reaching for her hand and pulling her down on top of him like she weighed nothing. He didn't even grunt or groan as she settled chest to chest with him. Her legs were tangled with his as he wrapped his arms around her, and she tried to keep the journal from getting smashed.
"What do you want to talk about? I think I have the whole thing memorized," he said softly, keeping his attention on her even though the second half of the game was on.
"I wanted to show you how I wrote about your Super Hornets," she said, unable to stop smiling now.
"Yeah, I saw that. You know more about the damn things than I do, Dr. Reed."
She laughed. "I'm Dr. Reed again?"
"Jessica," he whispered in that drawl that made her heart clench as he rubbed her back. "You ever been up in one before? You wanna fly with me one day?"
She let the journal slide to the floor as she gaped at him. "Would I be allowed? I've always wanted to!"
He shrugged. "I can investigate it. Or I could always sneak you out onto the tarmac after dark so you can sit in the cockpit."
"That sounds scandalous."
"It would be," he confirmed with a smirk. "You could sit on my lap. I could show my throttle. Teach you how to use it."
Jessica felt warm as she kissed him, his hands heavy on her lower back. But it was sweet and intentional instead of rushed even though she was straddling his abs. She was always at least slightly turned on when she was around Jake, and she was starting to suspect he felt the same way. But his restraint was sexy.
"I like this," she whispered between soft kisses as she ran the tip of her nose up along his.
"Me too, Baby," he replied, and when she bit her lip and pulled away a few inches to smile, he looked like he was in awe.
"What?" she asked.
He shook his head. "I just can't believe you're into me."
She rolled her eyes. "You're handsome. Everyone is into you."
"That's not what I meant," he said with a laugh. "And you're obviously better than everyone else."
Jessica had to reel in her ridiculous grin as she threaded her fingers through his soft hair. "Hey, can I ask you something? And feel free to say no, because it's probably going to be really, very dumb, and I won't be upset if you don't want to go-"
"Yes."
She stared at him for a beat. "I didn't even ask it yet."
"I know. Whatever it is, I'm in."
Once again, he was making her feel warm inside. And he still hadn't looked at the game. "So you'll be my date for a posh fraternity fundraiser for alumni weekend?"
He pushed her hair back behind her ear and said, "I don't think posh and fraternity belong in the same sentence together, but yes. I'd love to be your date. Since we're exclusive now."
"Oh, that was smoothe Lieutenant." She found herself tracing the lettering on his shirt as her cheek came to rest on his shoulder.
"I thought so, too," he whispered. Then she dozed off on him.
-------------------------
Jake held Jessica while she slept, her breaths soft on his neck while he watched the end of the game. He should really get up and stir the chili, but he didn't want to disturb her. If dinner wasn't edible, he would just order a pizza instead. No big deal.
She finally seemed fully comfortable with him. She was letting him hold her while she napped, and she wasn't shying away from the idea of them dating. He knew there was more to the picture with the way she made him work for it and the rumors Bradshaw's wife told him about. But she was so fucking sweet, Jake didn't care about what anyone else said. And it honestly turned him on when she made him earn his privileges with her.
She moaned softly in her sleep and wrapped her arm around him. He was going to have to ask Bradshaw or his wife what to wear to a frat party. That's somewhere he never thought he'd be caught dead, but he found himself wanting to make Jessica happy. So exceptions could be made.
Suddenly she popped up with both palms planted on his chest. "I can't believe I fell asleep," she mumbled, and Jake smiled at the mark on her face from where her glasses had been pressing.
"You want dinner?" he asked as she sat up straddling his hips. Her shirt had slipped a bit, and he could see the strap of her bra. And honestly, this position was enough to get him going, the way her breasts were clearly pressed together inside her A&M tee. When she nodded, he scooped her up as he sat and then stood.
She slid down his body with a little giggle, and soon they were both sitting on the stools at his kitchen island. He watched her dip a tortilla chip into her bowl of chili and take a bite. "This is so good," she gushed. "I don't know how to cook anything. You just put stuff in a crock pot? And it just cooks it into a meal?"
"Yep," he replied, trying not to laugh at the look on her face. Now he was thinking about buying her a crock pot. What the fuck was wrong with him? She took another bite and closed her eyes like it was the most pleasurable thing she'd ever tasted. "Baby, has nobody ever cooked for you before?"
"No," she moaned. "Unless you include my mom, and I only get to eat that for holidays. If I can manage to get back to Massachusetts."
He stroked her cheek with his fingers and said, "You want me to bring you dinner again this week? When you have office hours?"
She moaned again and climbed onto his lap to finish eating. Which turned into her straddling him again while he ran his hands all over her perfect ass again. And once again he could hardly believe he pumped the brakes so hard earlier, because eventually her lips were on his neck and her glasses were pressing into his jaw.
"If you come by on Tuesday, I'll wear something cute to work," she informed him, and his head tipped back.
"You always look cute."
"Then I'll wear something sexy."
Jake grunted. "Baby, you always look sexy." A few more brushes of her lips, and he found himself asking, "Do you want to spend the night?"
"Oh," she gasped, but she kissed his Adam's apple before pulling her lips away from him.
"We could cuddle. Make out," he clarified, meeting her eyes as she adjusted her glasses. "I could make you breakfast."
She bit her lip and then said, "See, this isn't fair. Now you know that the secret way to get me to do anything is with food. And I don't know what your secret is yet."
"Apparently it's girls with glasses."
Now she was laughing as she planted her hands on his shoulders. "I have a lot of work to do tomorrow at home. I need to start making up midterm exam questions."
"I could help you," he murmured, only half joking. "I solved your problem correctly the day we met, remember?"
"Jake, I will remember for the rest of my life how earnest you were the day we met."
He smiled, and he found his heart swelling with pride. "So you'll stay?"
"Next time," she whispered. "Next time I'll stay. And we can do more than cuddle and make out."
Jake pulled her a little closer with his hands still on her butt. "Yeah. Let's do that."
Eventually he packed up a container with the extra chili and linked his fingers with hers. He walked her to her car and kissed her until they were out of breath, and then he let her leave. But he missed her warmth and her hands on him. He ended up rereading her journal articles and looking up a recipe to make for Tuesday while he imagined just how sexy her outfit might be.

They are exclusive. She ordered the green set. She's dressing sexy on Tuesday. I'm ready. Thanks @mak-32 and @beyondthesefourwalls

Americano PT. 5 | Jude Bellingham x Reader
Tumblr media
What happens if two individuals who absolutely despise each other are forced to interact after unforeseen events occur?
A/N: pff, this was a long one, enjoy babes. A heads up in advance, I’ll be taking a break in the first week of April due to my exams 🫶
W/C: 4.558
part four
Tumblr media
"Come in here and bring your laundry hamper!"
"Just a second, dad!"
I jump out of bed, leaving my phone on the other end of it, and grab the pink hamper. I hold onto the handles tightly as I make my way out of my room.
I see him standing over the washing machine in the laundry room. I enter quickly, the both of us starting to sort out the dirty clothes and putting them in the machine accordingly.
"Did you finish packing?" My dad asks, glancing at me before grabbing the laundry detergent and fabric softener out of the cabinet above me.
"Yeah, just a couple basic things. It's like a 2-3 day trip."
He pours the blue liquid into the cap, checking the measurements before pouring it into the designated compartment. Doing the same thing with the fabric softener.
"Really? No fancy dress or anything?"
I look up from the washing machine, a sheepish smile forming on my face. I watch him shake his head in disbelief, a smile on his face as he turns the machine on.
"When I sent you abroad- I thought your aunt would raise you exactly like I would. But I forgot she probably raised you to love dressing up like her. You know, she used to terrorize me in my own room growing up, only because I had bigger windows and thus better lighting for when she did her makeup.." He shakes his head, chuckle leaving him as he reminisces.
I laugh at him, the smile on my face bigger now.
"I think packing something proper is very important. It worked out pretty well last Saturday when we went for dessert in Girona."
"Just stay safe when going out. It's a dangerous world, honey." He says, putting his hand on my shoulder.
I purse my lips at his words, remembering what had happened just a couple nights ago. He didn't know about the entire debacle, but since it was already dealt with, I didn't see a reason to bring it up.
"When are you getting up?"
"Not super early, like around eight? The match isn't until Tuesday, so no early flight."
"You know, it's almost twelve, right? Go to bed already, and don't go on your phone." He tuts, scolding me and pushing me towards my room.
"Alright, I'll go to bed."
"Goodnight, I love you." He says, kissing my forehead before he makes his way down the stairs.
"Love you too!" I shout as I watch him walk away while I stand in front of my bedroom door. The silence of the house surrounding me when I’m left alone.
Tumblr media
The team had finally wrapped up training for the day. We had arrived in Napels that morning, and they had trained hard until late in the afternoon.
This left us with some free time for the rest of the day, until we had to prepare for the match tomorrow.
"You've been doing your makeup for about 40 minutes now." I hear Luis complain, lying flat on his back on top of my bed.
"I could be meeting my future Italian husband out there! Come on, let me look cute for tonight."
I darken up my eye makeup, coloring my waterline with a black pencil to contrast my white dress.
I then drench my face in setting spray, fanning it dry with a random brochure, I found on the nightstand.
"Besides, you're wrinkling your clothes, stand up. I can't have you looking bummy! What if you find yourself a pretty lady?" I wink, struggling to hold back a laugh at the unimpressed expression he sends me.
I finally stand up from the chair, smoothing down my dress in front of the mirror, and adjust the slit a little.
"We can go now!"
Tumblr media
"Are you drinking?"
"No, not feeling it tonight." I mutter, eyeing the delicious-sounding food on the menu.
I look up, watching Luis flip through the menu.
"I'm going to order a pizza."
"Why pizza?" He asks, looking at me.
"We are practically in the birthplace of pizza. Are you judging me?" I ask, raising a brow at him.
"Just get it, I'm not judging you.." He raises his hands as if to surrender.
"You're so mean when you're hungry." He mumbles, closing his menu.
"Just appreciate the fact that I dragged you here. Look at how beautiful the view is.
I turn, admiring the view behind the glass panels of the restaurant. The Vesuvius mountain and the water are absolutely breathtaking, especially right now during sunset.
He sighs at me in agreement, looking around to find a waiter for us to finally order our food.
I watch him order for the both of us, getting distracted by the view, and turn towards him when the waiter leaves.
"If you get hammered, I'll leave you here.."
Tumblr media
"So, now you want to find an Italian girlfriend?" I ask Luis bewildered, watching him walk - no stumble in front of me.
The drinks he ordered were good, so good he felt inclined to ordered multiple of them. I didn't keep count, but he definitely had more than his limit, which made him the drunk mess he was right now.
"Of course, you're my best friend. We should each find a person to marry!" He slurs, walking towards the docks.
I sigh deeply, looking down at my heels, before jogging up to him, clutching onto his shirt tightly.
"You're going to fall into the water!" I shout, trying to hold him back from the edge, but he shouts in protest.
"It's fine, maybe one of these hot people will save me from drowning."
Oh my god
I look up to where he's pointing, seeing a group of people on an expensive-looking catamaran. I'm way too distracted to realize my grip on Luis has loosened, and watch him leave. I see him greet the partying people loudly. I close my eyes in embarrassment, wanting to jump into the water out of shame.
Who even parties on a random Monday evening?
I surprisingly hear someone shout something in what sounds like Italian. I turn my head, eyes searching as I turn my attention to the person.
My eyes meet the eyes of a tall, brown-eyed, beautifully sun-kissed man. His blue linen shirt halfway unbuttoned.
He looked like, and definitely is trouble.
I hear him say something again, and my eyes widen when they go back to Luis, who looks like he's having the time of his life with two girls.
"English?" I hear the beautiful stranger ask.
I nod, watching him walk towards the dock and then, interestingly enough, reach for my hand.
I would never leave Luis alone on this boat full of strangers. Therefore, I reluctantly grab the guy's hand as he pulls me onto the boat.
"Hi?" I greet, raising a brow. Quickly smoothing my dress down.
"Hello, and your name is?" He asks, eyes roaming up and down my body, definitely checking me out. The Aussie accent practically melting me on the spot, making it difficult for my jaw to stay closed.
He was the definition of trouble.
But I needed to get my mess of a friend off this damn boat and leave.
"y/n, yours?" I ask, pretending to be more interested than I am, sneakily glancing at Luis.
"I'm Chris. You're not from here, are you?"
Obviously not
"No, I'm actually from Valencia."
A white lie, he didn't have to know anything about me.
"Valencia, Spain? What are you and your friend doing here?"
"Visiting, for fun." I lie again, giving him a smile.
"Really? Having fun so far?" He smiles, his pearly white teeth blinding me.
"Yeah, a lot of fun." I reply, my brows raising in fake interest.
I watch him chuckle, his plump lips curling up. His arm going up to run a hand through his blonde locks.
"Care for a drink, then?"
As beautiful as this man was, I wasn't naive enough to accept a drink from him. Especially, since we were in a totally different country.
"I'm fine, actually. I'm leaving tomorrow, so I'm trying to not drink as much."
"Oh, you probably came to watch the Champions League game then?"
Got me, kind of.
I immediately pull a sour face, pretending to be disgusted.
"Of course not, I have better things to do than attend a Real Madrid match. If it wasn't for Valencia, I'd be for Barcelona anyway.."
That one physically hurt to say.
"Oh- don't get mad now." He teases, putting his hands up, his smile getting wider.
I had to leave hastily, at least before this man got me into his bed.
"You're fine. I'm just trying to get my friend and leave. You alright with that?"
"Let me get your number first. Don't think I'll forget you after tonight." He says, handing me his phone.
I was curving the man left and right, and he still wanted my number?
"I don't really give out my number. But I can give you my Instagram handle?"
"That's fine." He says, clicking on his Instagram.
I watch his screen, my eyes accidentally catching the number of girls on his explore page.
No way, this man was looking for something serious.
"Oh, I'll type it in. If that's alright?" I say, reaching for his phone. He nods, handing me the device.
I quickly type in my username, pressing follow.
To snoop a little further, I go back to the explore page, seeing more ass and boobs than I had prepared for. Pretending to be unfazed as I clear the Instagram tab and hand his phone back to him.
I mean, their bodies were amazing, but why the hell was he following them?
"That's it. Here you go. My phone is dead, so I'll talk to you later?" I say, fidgeting with my handbag. My social battery was dying even faster than normal tonight.
I watch him nod, his eyes on me, as I immediately make my way to Luis, who's now sitting with a random girl.
"Hi, sorry to interrupt, but we have to leave."
I grab onto Luis' arm, using all my strength to get him up. Noticing the amount of shot glasses and empty beer bottles in front of them.
How the hell did he manage to do that so fast?
Idiot.
"Wait, do you want his Instagram?" I ask the girl. She hesitates before nodding looking at us confused.
"Okay, well, let me spell it for you."
I spell his username quickly, turning away.
"Yes, that's it. We're not a thing, by the way- he's my brother. Bye!"
Another lie, but maybe it would help him in the long run.
"Let's go, come on." I groan, dragging Luis back to the hotel.
It was doable until he started leaning his body on me, making me slump partially. My heels beginning to hurt my feet more than ever.
After a good ten minutes of struggling, we finally enter the elevator of the hotel, his body weight starts to pile on me. Arriving at our correct floor I drag him out, a huge sigh of relief leaving my lips as I recognize some of our Real Madrid players.
"Help." I mumble, watching some of them recognize the fact that I was half-suffocating.
I watch Antonio, Aurélien, and Jude, of all people, walk towards us, getting drunk and passed out Luis off of me.
"Thank you." I sigh, fixing myself, watching Antonio comically throw Luis onto one of the seats there.
"What happened to him?" I hear Brahim say as I try to catch my breath and I readjust my grip on my bag.
"Long story."
"Let's put him to bed first." Antonio says, making me nod. All of our eyes moving to a passed-out Luis.
Tumblr media
"So, he got into a random boat?" Federico asks, looking at me.
I nod, trying to hold back a laugh while I drink my water. The cardigan I had retrieved from my room keeping me warm as we sat in the sky lounge.
"I would've partied." I look up at Cama, shaking my head.
"They were strangers, come on! But- one guy did approach me." I say, sending him a smug look.
"So you had some fun!"
"Look, he was cute. He offered me a drink, but I refused."
"That's it? Come on..”
"Why are you all up in my business?" I joke, being half-serious, hearing some of them laugh.
I finish my cup of water, beginning to stand up from my seat.
"It's getting late, I'm going up to my room. Don’t make it late, you guys need to rest well!" I say, waving after they send me off with kind words.
I press the elevator button, crossing my arms as I wait for it to arrive. The doors open a few seconds later, and I step in. I raise my head in surprise when I see an arm hold the doors open. Surprise turns into irritation when I notice Jude step in.
"Why did you follow me?" I ask, playing with the clasp on my bag.
"You know, not everything is about you." He mutters, a fed-up expression on his face. I sigh, closing my eyes in impatience, as I lean against the elevator wall.
The elevator makes a noise, and I check the floor number, getting out, hearing him follow me.
I start rummaging through my handbag for my room-key. Finally, fishing it out as we walk up to our respective rooms.
I arrive at my door, hearing Jude walk up to his own, his room interestingly enough being across from mine.
I go to scan my card but freeze, realizing my door is open by a small sliver.
"Why is my door open?" I mumble to myself, trying to subdue my instant panic.
"What?" I hear, seeing Jude walk up to me from the corner of my eye. His eyes darting in between me and the door.
"You left it open, probably." He responds, not an ounce of concern in his voice.
"You think?"
"Yeah, since you're so good with doors-"
"Okay, stop right there." I mutter, pushing the door open further. I flick the light on, looking around cautiously.
I hear him scoff at my behavior, and I turn around to look at him.
"Can you check the room?" I ask, trying to sound as nice as possible.
"No." He deadpans, giving me a bored look.
I hold back a string of cuss words, stepping into the room as he stands at the doorway.
"Stay here at least, before I get murdered."
"Would be a sight." He mutters, voice laced with humor. Though, I found it difficult to see this situation as funny.
"You're not funny. Are you aware of that?" I ask, punching into the curtains to check if anyone's hiding behind them.
"Find anything, detective?"
"Shut up." I whisper, going to open the bathroom door, hesitating for a moment.
Adrenaline starts pumping through my veins. I try to take deep breaths to prepare for a fight.
"What if someone's actually here?" I whisper, my eyes wide, as I turn to look at Jude.
I watch his expression harden, his jaw tensing as he looks at me.
"What do you mean?!" I hear Jude whisper back. His voice is hushed and more low than usual.
I take off both of my heels, ready to bash the possible intruder’s head in with my heels.
"Call security." I whisper, preparing to fight. I watch him take out his phone, before he raises his head again. His expression darkens for a moment before it changes into something- else...
"What are you doing, idiot? Come here." He says, and I can almost make out a vein popping out of his forehead.
All of the sudden, he makes his way over to me, grabbing my wrist and dragging me out of my room. Shutting the heavy door behind me, his hands coming up to my shoulders.
"What is wrong with you? You don't even know if they're with a weapon or anything!" He shouts in a hushed voice, his Brum accent more prominent than ever.
I continue staring at him, my lips parting in realization.
Damn, I was such a shallow thinker in times of crisis.
My mind turns blank, not acknowledging Jude's presence anymore. I can only hear him sigh and mumble something as security from both the club and hotel arrive at my room.
"Could you take her somewhere else, sir?” I hear someone say, feeling my wrist being pulled abruptly by Jude.
I follow him blindly, but I try to look back at my room. Wanting to see if someone would actually appear out of my room.
"Don't look." I hear, looking in front of me again as I’m brought into the hotel room across from mine. Nicer and bigger, definitely his.
"Sit down." He orders, pulling my wrist again and making me sit on one of the cushioned chairs.
I oblige without protest, too dazed to react in a snarky way. The silence in the room feels like hours when only being about ten minutes. It is finally cut off as Jude's phone starts ringing loudly.
I hear him speak for a few minutes before he hangs up. I watch him walk towards me as he sits in the chair next to me.
"No one was there, they checked the cameras as well. You left the door open."
I cringe, realizing my own initial mistake. A shudder runs through me as he explains.
"Oh, great!" I mumble sarcastically, feeling embarrassed, fidgeting with the fabric of my dress. Only now realizing I was barefoot, my heels probably fell out of my grasp when he pulled me out of the room.
I get up when he finishes explaining, walking up to the door. Pulling my soft cardigan closer to soothe myself.
"Where are you going?" I hear Jude ask. I turn and look back at him.
"Back to my room." I say, suddenly feeling the day's exhaustion take effect. My vision becoming blurry as I feel an ache make its way to my head.
This day alone probably took five years off my lifespan.
I hear him sigh as he walks up to me. Feeling him put his hand on my right shoulder.
"What?" I ask, looking him up and down. Trying to shrug his hand off of my shoulder.
I watch his jaw tense again, his grip on my shoulder getting tighter, though, not getting to the point of hurting.
I open my mouth to speak again, as he doesn't bother to answer my question. Unfortunately, I’m stopped by a sharp pain shooting through my head.
I groan in pain, placing my hands on my temples as I squeeze my eyes shut.
"What's wrong?" I hear him whisper, his other hand making its way to my left shoulder.
"I'm fine..." I dismiss, taking his hands off my shoulders. I reach for the door handle, pulling it down and stepping out of the room.
I tap my card against the sensor hurriedly and open my door, turning to see his door across the hallway already shut.
"Doesn't even care to watch me go inside." I mutter, ridding myself of my clothes and taking a much-needed shower. Trying to wash off all my stress and embarrassment.
When I'm done, I make a beeline to my bed, closing my eyes and forcing myself to sleep. I shift and turn, groaning in frustration as I turn my pillow around for the nth time.
It's like my sleep was robbed of me within minutes. My thoughts keeping me up. I check the time, realizing it was almost two in the morning.
I begin getting fully paranoid, my stupid brain making up the craziest scenarios imaginable.
I bury my face deeper into my pillow, forcing my brain to shut up. Finally, managing to fall asleep, too tired to keep my anxious walls up.
Tumblr media
"You look like a truck ran you over."
"Shut up." I snarl replying to Jude. Trying to ignore him further as I continue eating my food, Luis sitting across from me at the breakfast buffet.
I had gotten maybe five hours of sleep. My three layers of concealer weren’t doing its job today. It had creased within minutes of application.
I roll my eyes as he sits at the table next to us, probably to annoy me further.
“Someone get this weirdo away from me..” I say loudly, closing my eyes in prayer.
I hear Jude scoff, following it up with a laugh.
"Were you born insufferable, or do you practice in the mirror before going to bed?" I ask, poking at my food.
I hear him chuckle again, which makes my blood boil even more. I glance at Luis, seeing a grin forming on his face.
"You too?"
I had told him everything that had happened last night, him feeling embarrassed but finding it hilarious at the same time.
He did promise he'd make it up to me.
"Don't forget how I dragged your ass from the dock to the hotel. I could've easily left you there."
I threaten, looking at Luis as I shove another spoonful of food in my mouth.
I see Jude open his mouth, but I stop him with a hand as my phone rings. My dad calling me right at the perfect moment.
"Oops, sorry, too busy for whatever you want to say."
I realize how immature I sound, but I digress. I get up and answer the call. Chatting to my dad about the past few days.
Tumblr media
I signal for Luis to stop filming, patting his back to commend him for his hard work after the final whistle is blown. A nice 3-2 putting us on top of the table.
"They played really well."
I hum, posting the last social media post and turning to him.
"Right, if they keep playing like this, we'll definitely end up at the top of table C for sure."
"We'll go far. That's without question."
We make our way inside, trying to rush to get inside on time.
"Hugo is saying to interview both Frederico and Jude." I mutter, rereading the text message.
"That's fine, let's just wait here until they're ready." He says, both of us waiting in front of the changing room as they pile inside. Tired expressions on all of their faces.
"By the way, have you seen this one guy that's working here? He's so cute for you." I hear Luis say, looking up at him confused.
"Which one?" I ask, fidgeting with the cable of the camera.
"I'll show you when I see him." He says, and I give him a look.
"He better be cute, since you're making me wait."
Tumblr media
"Alright, that's it." I announce, looking at Jude. Finally wrapping up his interview.
"Thank you." He mutters, with less attitude this time. Probably way too tired to have a petty fight with me. I wasn't disappointed with that, to be honest. I couldn't stand speaking to him anymore.
"See you on the bus, man." I hear Jude say, giving Luis a handshake as he begins walking away. My eyes follow him, piercing into his back.
"See, that's the guy I was talking about." I hear Luis say, my head snapping towards the direction he was looking at.
"Which one-" I begin, shamelessly looking at the guy.
"What? No, are you serious?" I ask, appalled by the person he’s shipping me with.
"Yeah, he's cute for you." He mutters, giving me a smirk.
"You might be hungover still. Let's just get into the bus, please."
We pack our equipment up, starting to walk towards the team buses. Successfully helping fellow staff with the multiple suitcases and bags and stepping up into the vehicle.
We greet the players we make eye contact with, the both of us walking along the occupied seats until we finally find two empty ones next to each other.
"I'm tired..." I mumble, leaning my back against the seat, closing my eyes as I get comfortable. Leaving my phone on my lap.
"I can see that." I hear Luis reply, and I open one of my eyes to give him an offended look.
"How sweet of you." I reply, trying to take a quick fifteen-minute nap. Running around for more than two hours with five hours of sleep was not for the weak.
I was part of the weak.
I hear the sound of a notification, surprised it could be heard through all of the chatter and banter of everyone in the bus.
"Was that your phone?" I ask, leaning my head against the window.
"No, it was yours." Luis answers.
"Can you read it for me? You know my password."
I feel my phone being removed from my lap, a second of silence from Luis before he starts laughing uncontrollably.
"What?" I ask, getting curious.
What could be that funny?
"It's a DM from a Chris on Instagram."
"Who the fuck is Chris?" I ask, finally opening my eyes to take my phone back. My eyes roaming around the screen, reading a short message with a 'view once’ photo.
"Thought you repped Valencia?"
I read the message out loud, looking back at Luis, confused. Then I look at the profile picture.
"Oh my god! It's the guys from the boat!" I shout, embarrassed when I realize I was being louder than necessary.
"The one you talked about?"
"Yeah- wait, what do you think the photo is?" I ask, starting to feel squirmy.
"A dick pic." I hear Luis whisper.
"Who got a dick pic?"
I hear someone ask, looking at the row behind me. Jude peeking his head in between our headrests.
"Not you, so mind your own business.." I reply, moving my phone out of his view and returning to my conversation with Luis. Ignoring the daggers he’s sending me with his piercing gaze.
"No way, gross. He looked desperate, but no way."
"Well, click on it."
"No, now I'm scared. Why would you even bring that up?"
"Just squint."
I huff, leaning back against the widow, squinting as I press on the photo.
"Oh-" I exclaim, taking a deep, relieved breath.
Thankfully, it’s not an explicit picture, but a photo of me at the stadium we were just at, prematch to be specific. From the angle, you could tell the photo was taken from the stands.
"Wait- what the fuck? He was there? Ew, why did he take a photo of me?” I say, showing Luis the screen.
I watch his mouth fall open. He reaches over, taking my phone from me and screenshots the photo.
"That's why he sent that message. You lied to him about yourself, right?"
"Of course I did!" I say, snatching the phone from his hand.
"What do I say?" I ask, looking at him with a questioning look.
"Do you even want to speak to him?"
"Well- I'm bored?" I give him a grin, his arm coming to push me.
“I can’t stop you, but you said he looked like trouble, so ignore him..." He advises, squeezing my arm.
I nod at his words, taking them in. I swipe to press the mute button on the chat, and turn my phone off.

Tumblr media
What kind of caramel has a sour exterior yet a sweet centre? Is it worth the experience?
You sat in the passenger's seat while Jungkook drove to his parent's house. You were tense, he could sense it as well. From the begining you had tried to get along with your in-laws, something he thought was going pretty smoothly to be honest until Jungkook's mother crossed the line.
A silent gasp left your lips when Jungkook's hand rested atop your own. You looked at him only to marvel in his side profile.
"You are tense."
Your gaze lowered at his acknowledgement, you didn't want to speak just how much it bothered you had to go to his parent's residence in fear of making him angry or worse, to see you in a bad light you certainly weren't in.
His hand squeezed yours and you looked up at him only to meet his dark eyes for a second before his gaze returned to the front.
"I promise this is the last time we are going to my parent's house. I just need to sign some documents."
You leaned back on your seat, your eyes focused on the road as you let your mind wander around what had happened five days ago. You felt stupid to some point for doing Mrs. Jeon's will without consulting your husband. Not that you needed some kind of permission from him to do anything you pleased but more so as to include him in a decision that was going to affect the both of you as a married couple.
"I know, Kook."
You replied back in a soft voice, mind already lost in memories from that day and the following day you had lived next to your husband. The next morning after you told him your secret, Jungkook wasn't by your side and you felt how the world fell over you.
Fear took hold of you that moment, you could still remember how scared your had been when he wasn't in the bed, his side was also cold to the touch. You remember standing up in a rush, nearly tripping down with the sheets tangled in your body before you bolted out of the bedroom.
Jungkook was in the living room, his eyes lost in the horizon as the sun was painting the sky in beautiful hues of orange, pink and blue. He turned to look at you, his heart trembling at the distress drowning your (e/c) pools before he stood up and was quick to approach you.
You were in his arms the next second. Your face buried in his chest as you blinked back tears you didn't know had gathered in your waterline. Jungkook didn't say anything, he simply held you tighter when he felt you relax in his hold.
"You weren't in bed."
You said, matter-of-factly and he sighed, resting his chin at the top of your head.
"I woke up early, I didn't get much sleep."
You took a deep breath, inhaling in his scent, taking in his presence.
"I thought you had left."
The sound of your voice so fragile pulled at his heartstrings that a lump began forming in his throat. He pulled back only for one of his hands to cradle your cheek in his large palm while his eyes gazed into your own with countless emotions.
"Never. I could never leave your side."
You blinked and the memory dissipated from your mind like fog when the sun came out. You sighed, silently playing with Jungkook's fingers that were still in your hold, completely unaware of his soft smile upon your gentle touch.
"We are here."
His deep voice snapped you out of your little paradise where only you and your husband existed. He turned to look at you with gentle eyes that nearly melted you in your place. He smiled as if to comfort you; which it did.
"This won't take long, I promise."
You nodded before his hand left your own as he exited the car, making a sudden coldness invaded your body. You couldn't fully describe it but it felt as if your heart was enveloped around ice when you weren't near Jungkook, however the slightest touch or simple glance from him were enough to set you aflame.
He opened the door for you and you stepped out of the vehicle. His hand found home in between your fingers as he led you silently toward the front door.
"Young master, welcome."
Spoke the maid at the entrance. She bowed at Jungkook and you with stiff movements that made you take a deep breath. This is it. You thought to yourself as Jungkook gave the maid a simple nod before asking in his professional voice. He was here to deal business, nothing more, nothing less.
"Is my father in his study?"
"Yes, young master. He's waiting for you. Mrs. Jeon, would you like me to take your coat?"
You turned to look at the elegant maid with kind eyes yet your voice came firm as you spoke your next words.
"It's alright. We won't be here long anyway, but thank you."
The maid bowed down to both of you as Jungkook led you through the house and up the large staircase toward his father's study. His steps were determined, strong and confident. You followed next to him, your hand still clasped in his.
Jungkook had you as his equal in this situation were his future was on the line while you had him as support to the thorns that wanted to hurt your marriage with your sweet husband whom you loved so very much you feared your heart would explode with the amount of love you held for the man walking next to you.
The double doors were opened by two maids and you and Jungkook entered your father-in-law's studio hand in hand. Tension immediately rose in the room. You practically could cut it with a knife. Mr. Jeon stood up from his chair, a shiver ran down your spine but if it was due to the chilly room or the coldness of his eyes, you couldn't exactly tell.
"Welcome. This will be short, I only need you, Jungkook, to sign some papers and then this scandalous situation will be over."
You felt Jungkook's hand tighten around yours, his father's words spurring emotions in his heart he rather kept hidden. You squeezed his hand back in silent reassurance which made him physically relax a bit yet not completely.
"Where do I sign?"
Asked your husband in a detached voice. He was here for an entirely business deal. No emotion was carried by his voice and the tension rose once more in the room, like icicles trying to break the peace that surrounded your marriage with Jungkook.
Mr. Jeon sighed before his eyes lowered, his hands opened a file only for then to turn it upside down so that Jungkook was able to read it properly, he put an expensive black pen next to it and the coldness once more invaded the place.
Your husband let go of your hand as he walked toward the mahogany desk. His steps were large and precise, without hesitation. You found yourself admiring the control he had over his emotions, of his actions. Of how people viewed him. Even when he was in the presence of his own parents.
How sad it must have been for him to wear that mask required by society in front of his parents as well. It must have been tiring. The thought crossed your head before you could stop however, you came to notice how relaxed he was in his home with you. How domestic he appeared in your eyes. Then again, who said you weren't also wearing such a disguise?
You made eye contact with your father-in-law as the shuffling of paper echoed around the walls. You could read in his dark eyes the challenge he carried within him, the arrogance. The slight disappointment he had in Jungkook when he didn't divorce you. The frustration cursing through his veins was obvious to your eyes that only held love and support toward the man who had married you.
"So, according to this, I will no longer be the heir of the company?"
His father nodded, his hands clasped in front of him before he spoke in a monotonous tone.
"Yes, Jeon Enterprises will pass to your Cousin Marlene, I believe she is now in the States. She's already been notified of this."
Silence stretched in the room once more as your eyes focused on your husband. Your heart thumped in your chest ever so quickly you were scared the two men in the study could hear its frantic beating.
"You'll keep your current position but you'll work for us. Are you sure you want to do this, Jungkook?"
But your husband paid him no mind. He wasn't going to be controlled like a puppet. Not anymore. Not when his future, you, were on the line. Never. Jungkook signed the documents, the scraping of the pen over the paper reached your ears and your heart fluttered at his actions.
Jungkook put the pen aside and straightened back to his full height. His eyes pierced those of his father with no emotion at all.
"If that is all then we'll be on our way. My wife and I already have plans."
The older man let out a deep sigh, looking at his son with melancholy or disappointment, you really couldn't tell. Butterflies flew in your stomach when Jungkook called you like that. "My wife." His. You were his just as he was yours. Tangled with the ribbon of fate and tied with a knot of love.
"I'll let you know if there's anything more but for now, that is all."
Jungkook nodded, turning around and when his back was towards his father, he offered you a soft smile. Kind in its nature. Happy in its existence. You smiled back as he walked to you and his hand found home around yours.
"Let's go."
And with that, he led you outside of the study and through the hallway. Mr. Jeon was left in his expensive and luxurious study, pondering if what he had done had been the right decision. It wasn't his fault Jungkook had fallen in love with you and it wasn't your fault that you were sterile. Was it really worth it to discard the company from his son's rightful heritage only for a drama his wife made?
But there was no turning back. There was nothing to be done if he were to feel guilty about his choice. Because as the owner of Jeon Enterprises, Jungkook's father had in him the power to leave the company to whoever he pleased. Was it really worth it?
"Jungkook."
Mrs. Jeon spoke as she stood next to the large staircase. Her piercing eyes went from Jungkook to you and back to him. You squeezed your husband's hand in reassurance. You were next to him, just like every future time he'll have to face anything, you'll stand next to him as his wife.
"Mother."
You felt how the tension rose once more between mother and son and you straightened your back before saying in a steady voice.
"If you'll excuse us, Mrs. Jeon, there's an appointment we need to attend to. I hope we'll meet again under better circumstances."
She eyes you up and down and you feel how she scrutinised you with her gaze alone. But you weren't going to back down. You had your husband next to you and he had you as well. You sent her a polite smile and she nodded in a stiff manner before you turned to the staircase and pulled on your joined hands with Jungkook before he followed you down the marble stairs with his mother's eyes piercing the top of your head as if she could burn you with her anger cursing through her veins.
"You will regret this, Jungkook! You'll regret it for the rest of your life!"
But her words fell on deaf ears. Jungkook didn't need their fame, he didn't need their support anymore and there was no point in keeping a relationship with the people who brought him to this world if it was going to be so toxic he felt like he couldn't breathe anymore.
He had you know. Your presence, your existence was like a new and fresh breeze on a spring day. You brought him hope, you gave him your heart and with it, your love. Your trust. Your life was in his hands. Just as he had given you his heart ever so willingly; without an ounce of hesitation in his actions, in his words, in his thoughts about you. His lover. His wife. His (y/n).
Tumblr media
You stood in the lift as it went up to your shared apartment. Your hand was held in Jungkook's larger palm as his thumb ran delicate circles over your knuckles.
You still were surprised at how easily he had given up on his inheritance because of you. Because he loved you. Because he wanted you. He cherished you and gave you your place as his wife. You didn't doubt you would have done the same had you been in his shoes.
The feeling of your heart thumping against your chest for the man you had married made you smile softly. At him. At his love. At what had been built between you both where nothing existed, not a castle stood. A castle of love.
The elevator dinged and the doors opened. Jungkook's hand squeezed yours in an involuntary way but it made your cheeks heat as butterflies fluttered in your stomach. The both of you walked out of the lift hand in hand and down the large corridor that led to your shared apartment.
When you two rounded a corner, you had to suppress a gasp as you nearly collided with two other men who were walking at a fast pace from the other end of the corridor. You recognised them vaguely, as if you had seen them before but couldn't quite place where. Unbeknownst to you, Jungkook tensed ever so slightly at the sight of his friends and coworkers.
"Jimin, Namjoon. What are you both doing here?"
Now you knew where you had seen them. Both Jimin and Namjoon had attended the small wedding ceremony between you and Jungkook nearly a year ago.
"I... well, you see-"
"We visited a friend, Kook. I'm glad to see you, you haven't been at the company for some time now."
The shorter one spoke. Jimin, you remembered his name was Jimin. The man had a pleasing smile over his plump lips and you also noticed he had recently dyed his hair a sandy shade of blond that suited him perfectly.
Jungkook nodded, eyes going from Namjoon to Jimin and then back again.
"How are you, Mrs. Jeon? We haven't seen you since forever."
Spoke Namjoon and you smiled. Reminiscing how you both had shared talks about different books and art, you being a writer yourself he valued your opinion greatly.
"I've been fine, Namjoon. Thanks for asking, I hope everything's going well at the company?"
Your question made them nod and Jungkook bit his lip, this interaction was lasting more than it should have. To begin with, it shouldn't have occurred in the first place. This could totally ruin Jungkook's plans to spend the evening with you.
"Oh, yes. Please don't worry about that but do tell Jungkook here to stop pestering us about the monthly reports already! We have a big loan already!"
You couldn't help but laugh at Jimin's comment, the sound resonating across the walls. Jungkook sighed loudly, visibly irritated by his friends who teased him in front of you.
"Yeah well, keep going like this and there'll be no salary increase for you both."
Jungkook began walking once more, tugging on your joined hands as you laughed out loud at the scared face Namjoon made and the eye roll from Jimin.
"See you guys around!"
You were able to say that before Jungkook dragged you into the apartment and closed the door behind him leaving Jimin and Namjoon standing in the middle of the corridor.
"Do you think he'll do it?"
Asked the taller man as they both began walking down the hall and towards the lifts. His hands shoved into his trouser pockets and a relaxed expression over his face.
"He better do it."
Jimin pressed the button to go to the ground floor, a hand running over his hair as he frowned slightly.
"He better do it, hyung, or I swear I'll kill him."
Namjoon laughed and the elevator's doors closed. Leaving behind nothing but silence in the empty hallway.
Jungkook had taken your coat from you before he had disappeared into the kitchen saying he was thirsty. You sighed in content as you took off your shoes and placed your purse on the entrance table before you walked away from the door wearing your comfortable slippers.
"Kook?"
You asked, but he wasn't in the kitchen and you frowned at his absence. Silence engulfed the flat and you walked to the living room and the dining room but he wasn't there.
"He couldn't have just disappeared into thin air, now can he?!
You muttered to yourself as your feet carried you to your shared bedroom. The door was slightly ajar so you pushed it with your palm and gasped at what you saw inside.
"I thought it would take you longer to come here."
Jungkook said and you stepped forward, eyes roaming around the bedroom. The curtains were pulled to the sides, the mesmerising sunset painting the sky tinted the room in a soft orange hue it warmed your heart instantly.
There were red rose petals on the ground, and the bed was dressed in black sheets with white petals on it. Transparent balloons filled the ceiling as they floated up and you couldn't help the smile that graced your lips.
"Kook, what's this?"
He walked over to you, standing at arm's length as his eyes lost themselves in your own. His heart was beating wildly in his chest; he feared you could hear it. His hands were behind his back as he looked down at you.
"Jimin and Namjoon took longer than anticipated."
You laughed, so that was why Namjoon seemed so nervous at the beginning. The sound of your laughter made butterflies swirl in his stomach, the sight of you, bathed in the golden light of the sun, smiling up at him was enough to send him to heaven.
"(y/n),"
How delicious it was to hear your name coming out of his lips. You looked at him with a soft gaze he thought he'd melt right then and there.
"my beautiful wife."
You blushed at the compliment, breaking eye contact as you looked down in a futile attempt at hiding your flustered state. He chuckled, finding the situation so beautiful in its own existence. Wishing he could frame this precise moment and look at it forever.
His hands untangled themselves from behind his back, one was shoved into his trouser pocket while the other lifted your chin with the tips of his fingers. The moment your eyes met his once more, you felt like melting against him. It was perfect.
"I love you so much, sweet one. So, so much."
You swallowed, feeling his words through your heart as it skipped a beat.
"I love you as well, Jungkook. With all my heart."
He smiled. the bunny smile you loved so much. That smile that was the source of your happiness. That smile that was only his.
"We have faced so many things together."
His hand moved and cradled your cheek, the touch burning you while freezing you in your spot at the same time. You wanted him. In every sense of the word. He did things to you that you had never felt before. He made you feel loved like no-one else had done, he made you feel cherished, wanted, needed. And you could only hope he felt the same way. Because you loved him, you cherished him, you wanted him and needed him just as much.
"I wish we had met under different circumstances but that doesn't mean I am not grateful for what he has grown to be as a couple."
Your hand came up and covered the once that cradled your cheek, your hand over his sending tingles all over his arm and to his body he felt fuzzy, happy to just be with you. To just have you in this moment, exactly like this.
"I have grown to care for you like I have never cared for another woman in my life, (y/n). You are everything to me. Everything, sweetheart. I cannot imagine my life without you."
Your eyes began to water at the sweet words dripping from his lips. Coated in sugar, meant to wash away the sour taste left behind by life itself.
He sighed and took a step back, his hand left your cheek and you instantly felt cold at the loss of his touch. Jungkook looked at you with soft brown and big eyes before he knelt down on one knee. His right hand picked up a small box from his trouser's pocket and you nearly gasped when he opened it.
"We are already married and the promises I made to you on our wedding day are still fresh on my mind. I will fulfil them as my duty to you as a husband but this ring, love, this ring is a promise to you as your lover."
You bit your bottom lip, trying to stop it from trembling as a little tear rolled down your cheek at his words.
"I promise to love you until my last breath. I promise to cherish you as my wife. You will never need anything, your desires are my commands, (y/n). You rule my heart like a Queen rules her kingdom. Now, I ask you with all the sincerity in this world: will you love me as well?"
A sob escaped your lips before your hands went up to cover your mouth. You nodded fiercely as you tried to wipe your tears away. He smiled, standing up and taking the ring out of the small velvety box. His larger hand took your left one and he slid the ring on top of your wedding band. A seal to his love. The two rings even matched.
"Yes. A million times yes. I love you, Jungkook. I love you with all I have in me, with everything. Forever."
The next moment, his lips were on yours. Your hands rested on his shoulders as he cradled your face, his lips dancing with yours in the steps of love.
The kiss was sweet. As sweet as sugar. You poured all the love, all the longing, all the desire into that kiss while Jungkook let his emotions flow into that single act of love. He allowed you to feel how his heart beat for you, how his mind wouldn't stop thinking about you and how his hand itched to touch you.
Your hands ran to the back of his neck before they were running through his dark locks. A soft groan escaped his throat when you tugged on his hair slightly. You moaned as his hands slid down your cheek and towards your waist, pressing you against him.
Passion bloomed in that moment. Starting with a sweet kiss and ending with the promise of eternal love.
Jungkook guided you to the bed, the back of your knees hit the bed and he pushed you down on the mattress gently, hovering over you without breaking the kiss.
Perhaps sour caramels do have sweet centres after all.
As sweet as sugar. As sweet as love. As sweet as life.
Combined into a sweet marriage of eternal devotion and beautiful love.

PLEAAAASE WRITE SOMETHING ABOUT BAJI AGAIN!! the last one was amazing 🌹
Tumblr media
You stared at the multiple letters you had stuffed in your drawer, not sure how long it's been since this all started, a couple months probably. It all started that one afternoon, you found something jammed in your locker. After Struggling to open your locker, you found a neat light pink envelope. Your heart skipped a beat at the heart-filled letter inside the envelope, it was a love confession. You were surprised to say the least, but what you hadn't expected is that the next day, at the same time, you found a different letter but the same light pink envelope. This time, there was a snack with the letter. A smile tugged on your lips as you finished the last sentence of the letter,
"P.S. I know you missed lunch because of your mathematics exam, I got you a snack. I hope you enjoy them! <3"
You somehow felt safe, instead of creeped out or nervous. It felt as if someone was looking after you, making sure you've eaten and stayed hydrated. That snack turned into more and then into straight up gifts, whether it was a new pair of headphones because yours broke, a new book you've been wanting to read, or a cute stuffed animal with a small note as,
"This reminded me of you! <3"
It was the highlight of your day. Time after time, you hadn't realized that you'd fallen in love with a totally mysterious person. Suddenly, it was Baji's turn to be surprised when he was placing the-who-knows-what-number pink enveloped letter in your locker, when he noticed you had left it open this time instead of him having to bust it open like all the other times. He was going to place his letter, when he found a light blue envelope. In neatly written letters,
To whoever continues to give me those pink enveloped letters <3
Baji snatched the letter, he glared at it hard. Were you gonna tell him to leave you alone and not bother you any longer. He swallowed the lump in his through before gently opening the light blue envelope. He hated how you flustered him when you wrote how you appreciated and loved everything he has done for you and wanted to meet him more than anything. That caught him off guard...you wanted to meet him. Did you know it was him? No way, he made sure he was the sneakiest he could be. But even if you did meet him, would you love a dangerous and wild delinquent like him, also no way. He stuffed the letter in his pocket before remembering his reason for being here. He put the letter in your locker before the school bell rang, conveying the end of the school day. He left before anyone could catch him standing at your locker. That's how it was for the next few weeks that turned into months. You left your locker open in the morning after placing your light blue enveloped letter and waited for the pink enveloped letter in the afternoon. That's how you would say "communicated". It was late at night, you were running back and forth in your room looking for more blue envelopes. You had run out and forgot to get some, little did you know someone was also dealing with a similar problem.
Dammit, I ran out of envelopes. I gotta go to the store.
Dammit, I ran out of envelopes. I gotta go to the store.
You were surprised the store was still open at this hour. You didn't waste time, heading straight to the envelope, letters, and gift cards section in the store. You weren't alone. Your eyes scanned over the shelf until you found it.
"Ah, there they are."
You reached out for the blue envelopes only to bump into someone else's hand reaching for a similar envelope as well. You gasped and took a few steps back before lowering your head a little.
"O-oh sorry about that."
FUCK, WHY SHE HERE RIGHT NOW?!
He froze once he realized what truly happened. He couldn't utter a single word. You looked up at him, before tilting your head to the side,
"Uh, are...you ok-"
You also froze once you saw the similar envelope in his hands. You glanced at the envelope in your own and before looking at his again.
Oh, he came for envelopes too...pink ones.
"um, sorry again."
You felt a little nervous under his gaze but you turned around and tried to ignore how he eyed you down. You head to the cashier to pay for the new set of envelopes,
"Is that all for tonight?"
"Yeah, thank you."
You sunk into your bed unable to sleep though. The interaction with the boy at the store never once leaves your mind. That was Baji Keisuke. He acted like a nerd at school...well, he never really got good grades, he just looked like that part. But outside of school, he was a known delinquent. He was violent and wild. This was your first time seeing him outside of school. The pink envelopes he was holding, could it be? No, no, someone like Baji couldn't have a soft spot. It was simply just a coincidence that he was there, at the same store, at the same hour, at the same aisle, wanting the same thing. You could lie to everyone else, just not yourself. You rolled out of your bed and headed to your drawer.
Now, back to where we were. You were staring at the piles of letters in your drawer. The letters were from none other than Baji Keisuke. Now that you knew, you couldn't help but think about all the little details he shared about himself. His best friend, now that you know, he must've meant Chifuyu. The cat that sneaks onto his balcony, Peke J. Were you going to go to school and face him! After all the embarrassing facts you told him, your secrets, your everything! You'd rather die.
"Fucking hell Chifuyu, she found out AND in the dumbest way ever. She hasn't come to school for like a week also."
"It's okay Baji, Just try and focus on this meeting and get your mind off things for a little bit."
He couldn't focus on the meeting or anything for the past week. It had gotten so bad, even his mother was worried. He wanted to tell you in a proper way that it was him writing to you all the time, he wanted a proper way for you to know his fat crush on you. Baji snapped out of trance when he heard Draken's loud shout,
"THIS MEETING'S DISMISSED."
It's over this quick, damn I didn't pay attention to shit.
"Oh, also Baji, there was this girl asking about you before you came tonight. I think she's actually waiting for you down in the parking lot.
"WHAT?! DAMMIT, CHIFUYU WHAT THE HELL DO I DO?! SHE'S IN THE PARKING LOT DAMMIT! IT WAS YOUR IDEA WRITING HER LETTERS, HELP ME BITCH!"
"Wait what?"
Draken was confused to say the least.
"BAJI, I DON'T KNOW WHAT TO DO. I AM SORRY! M-MAYBE TRY TALKING TO HER?"
It was a shouting match between the both while everyone stared confused, but they both failed to realize that you heard them from the parking lot and had made your way to the shrine and facing the both of them. Well, Chifuyu noticed first and when he did, all the color drained from his face and he look like he was going to pass away, his last thoughts were
Baji's gonna kill me, Rest in peace me...
"Huh, why'd you look like that? Who's behind m-"
He turned around only to be met with the same fate as Chifuyu. He let him go and stared at you with a nervous expression only to shock everyone watching. Baji, The first division captain of Toman, is nervous because of this girl. A heavy cloud of awkwardness fogged the air between the both of you. You approached first before pulling out a neat stack of pink enveloped letters tied with also a pink ribbon.
"T-these...they're yours aren't they?"
You were flustered and your voice barely audible, you were standing in front of your all-time-crush. He looked away and scoffed,
"Yeah! So what if they're mine, I'll leave you alone if you want...I know you don't wanna mess with any delinquents and that type of shit. Why'd you come here anyway? If this is some prank from you corny ass friends I swear I am gonna-"
"Ohmygosh you talk a lot, just shut up."
You pulled him with both your hands cupping his face into a deep unpredicted kiss, It was almost his instinct to pull you closer. One hand pulled you in with a hug while his other hand found its way to its neck pulling you gently by your throat, wanting more of your lips, that tasted oh so good with your strawberry flavored Chapstick. You pulled away when you both needed a breath of oxygen. Your eyes locked, it was an unexplainable attraction that you both had for each other, it was a spark that you felt, all the way from the night you saw him at the store until now. It was a spark that flickered more and more the closer each step you took towards him until it fully flared when you pulled him into such a sensual kiss.
"Regarding your last letter. Yeah, I'd love to go out with you. <3"
-I'll write a part 2 w/ smut if you guys want, let me know please!

FUCK DAMN IT i have another angst im so sorry but its okay i... made it possible for a happy ending dw!!!! im finally talking about fragile!reader again
it has been months since you've fallen back into a vegetative state. teetering at the edge of life and death. inside a massive glass capsule that glowed blue as you float inside, preserving you, keeping you away from death. a futile attempt but... it's a must. he cannot work on you like he did before after his decision to kill off all of his segments...
his laboratory never felt so empty. only him, the buzzing of the machinery that kept you alive, and alone in his thoughts.
dottore hasn't been doing well... he hasn't showed up in meetings, nor accepted any visitation from other harbingers. he couldn't be bothered by them at this moment, not when he has almost lost you and now you're slipping from his fingertips.
going through your old stuff for comfort, he stumbles upon a very ancient contraption, probably something he made before for you. it was... a recording device it seems, though it is so outdated he had to reverse engineer it, as well as make another device that could actually run the recording inside it of. he didn't mind at all, it kept him busy, it kept him distracted.
and as soon as he pressed play, he regretted it.
-------------
the screen was nothing but white and black fuzz, white noise emanating from the recording, before it slowly began gaining color, and subtle form.
"gods, why does he make things always so complicated- this thing is so poorly engineered, did he really make this as a gift for me?"
your voice, high-pitched and young. annoyed as the recording glitches, loud thumps coming from the screen. the recording miraculously got fixed, albeit a bit glitched.
"there you go!" you smile, pointing the device at your face. "so, zandik got this for my birthday. it was very sweet of him actually, to make me something so cool!" you hum happily, walking toward somewhere the recording wouldn't see, "gonna use this to record some shit that happens on our everyday lives, so i can look back and laugh at everything happened when i graduate."
and so the recording showed dottore as such.
from your bickering, walking to the akademiya, recordings of his younger self rambling about something, funny moments like a concoction he made exploded and covered him with pink dust, experiments dottore long forgotten, your smiles, your laughs, you simply talking about your day, or ranting about your frustrations, to you talking about how much you loved him...
then, the recordings grew shorter. less lively. slow.
like you had when your illness first started showing signs.
the recordings grew less energetic, but more calm and soothing. whispers of sweet nothings, loving confessions, soft giggles, coughing here and there, holding his hand and calling him so many sweet nicknames, the view outside your window, birds flying and flora dancing along the wind...
then the last recording plays, and it was you, holding an instrument, with an iv drip attached to your arm.
dottore remembers this. it was when you first passed out due to your illness while you were out on an exhibition and almost didn't make it back to the akademiya for medical attention.
"hi zandik," your voice, still soothing despite the rasp in it, "for a while... i wanted to make you something... it was supposed to be a device but... i could barely hold my tools without dropping them after a while..." a small sad laugh slips past your lips.
"so i'll just give you this. something i made in my spare time... considering i've been doing nothing but rest on my bed."
and it was a song. with you tapping to pens onto a metal surface, a slow and steady rhythm, just enough for you to be able to play it with ease. it started off with a sweet hum of a tune he recognized, a tune you've been singing ever since you were young, and then you sang.
he could tell that you were struggling, shoulders shaking and taking in sharp shallow breaths in between your singing. but you powered through, singing with a heavenly voice.
it was all about him. and how much you loved him, how much you adored him and wished to love him even more. to hold him in your arms and call him yours forever and more, to kiss him, to hug him. you listened everything you liked about him, how you felt before you confessed, how you felt when you were with him, how you wanted to be part of his lips.
forever and more.
then you ended with a cough, blood dripping down the corner of your lips, face contorted in pain.
"ah... that was the best i could do..." you say sadly, turning away from the recording device, too ashamed to look. "im not sure if you'll ever see this, but... i really did put my heart and soul..." you look back with a smile, eyes teary and glimmering. "i trust that you will cure me, no matter what. and i hope you know i appreciate it, for everything you do to me. i know that you love me more than you'll ever admit, and i hope you know that i'll love you, even in this wretched fragile state...
you're my world zandik, i love you so, so much.
and if... if i pass on... please, i beg of you.
take care of yourself, i wouldn't want to see my lover become so miserable.
if you ever need reassurance, play my song. i like to think it's everything how i feel for you in a nutshell.
see you, my love."
-------------
some fatui soldiers, especially the new recruits, think that a section of the palace was haunted. specifically dottore's.
they say they hear the singing of a voice, it echoed through the silent, empty halls, for days, never stopping, only looping.
it was soothing, at first. before it became haunting.
it never stopped.
it just kept singing.
singing and singing and singing, filling the silence in the cold, cold palace.
and as you sing, dottore would stare onto your sleeping body. inside a machine, floating, with death looming behind his back.
he will save you, no matter what.
perhaps then he could hear you sing the song you made all those years ago from your lips.
sorry :) promise no more angst next time ,, im glad u like my writing smooches i love yours too,, ty for indulging my insanity 😭😭
KAIIII OH GOSH IT JUST KEPT GETTING MORE AND MORE SAD, IM CRYING 😭 You know what... i give you permission to keep sending me angst... it's so good but in a heart-stomping-crushing way 😍 I WILL ALWAYS INDULGE YOUR SANITY 😤😤❤️
Dottore wishes he was smarter.
It's an odd thing for a man such as himself to wish, in fact, him "wishing" for anything was entirely strange, for he was certainly one of the most knowledgeable people in all of Teyvat. But looking at you, having regressed back into a coma, he doubts it. He has paid a price for everything he's learned, and none of it has bothered him, yet none of it has been helpful in this endeavor. He's tried everything in all of his great minds, yet nothing. Dottore wonders what would the ultimate price to pay for knowledge would be, but he quickly acknowledges that he wouldn't care if it meant finally saving you.
He remembers the day when you simply fell back asleep. Dottore had thought that you would stick beside him for a while longer at least. To skip around the lab looking around, to bother him to take breaks. But one day it simply stopped. Zandik felt empty. Wasn't centuries of loneliness enough? Just when he thought he could revel in your company again, it was over in the blink of an eye? And he was truly alone. No longer did the thoughts of his other segments buzz in his mind or the lab. Without them, there was far too much to be done. Only him, you, and work existed. But really, you were no longer here.
With them and you gone, he realizes how truly tedious it is to be a Harbinger. No longer could he send a segment to the meetings or extra work, and no longer did he have you for comfort. But he doesn't particularly care right now, he'll just pass most of it off to random agents. You are far more important, yet no matter how much time he pours into his research, he seems no step closer to healing you.
Zandik decides to enter your room. He'd already gone through his own items of yours multiple times. It was completely untouched, the bed made up without a wrinkle, shelves collecting dust. It was very you, having planned out the decoration yourself with the clones helping you. He doesn't realize how much stuff you have stuffed into room, though he recognizes most of it as you always liked to show him your things. Until he encounters something that he knows belongs to an era long forgotten. The recording device looked as if it had gone through war, he almost thought it was broken until he decided to look more into it and give it a try using his own technology. If this was something of yours, it deserved that kind of treatment, anyway.
Zandik doesn't know what he was expecting, but it certainly wasn't this. As soon as he sees your face and voice come into frame, his smile drops. Your smile and words, so happy. Albeit a bit annoyed and sassy, but he loved that. He had almost forgotten what your voice sounded when it was like that, for you struggled to speak in that tone now. You're wearing the Akademiya's uniform, your mouth grinning from end to end. He faintly recognizes the dorm as the background, neat and tidy as you liked to keep it. A part of him knows he needs to turn it off, to turn it off right now, or else. But he's transfixed.
He doesn't know how much time goes by, but he watches it. All of it. Some of it is complete silence of you literally just recording him (he has no clue how he didn't notice some of this stuff). Some of it is you simply making silly faces at the device while his younger self's voice yells out in the background at you. Some of it is him cussing out former professors and students as you try to hide your cackles. Some of it is you holding him as he slept in your arms. And some of it is just utter nonsense and idle chit-chat. But all of his senses are tuned into it.
But it was easy to recognize the change. It had started slowly. No longer were you bouncing around all excitedly. The backgrounds of the videos were no longer very unique. It was mostly in the dorm, the Akademiya, or the forest on good days, the only places where your body could take you during those times. Your voice had grown more quiet, you struggled to quip back and banter with him like you used to. It seemed like you focused more on tender moments with him than before. Yet in one instance you accidentally dropped the device with a huge crash and a string of curses flew out your mouth, then soft apologies to him followed.
Zandik's face is expressionless when the last recording plays, but he is unsettled by how vividly he remembers that particular day. He was... scared for you. It leaves a horrible taste on his tongue, both the incident and the feeling. As you speak, he feels both dread and interest as to what your words will be.
And you sing. Out of all things, you sing. Now that he thinks about it, he remembers you scribbling onto paper with pen quite frequently when you were bedridden, but he didn't think too much of it since he was already too preoccupied with how he was going to save you. So you were composing. About him of all things. And you were in pain, so much pain from merely singing. And yet you looked happy, you were on the verge of hacking your lungs out but there was still a soft smile on your face, as you professed your love for him unabashedly and proudly. And even at the end, when you're crying and panting from all the effort, you're smiling. Normally, he likes seeing you smile, but this kind of smile is not one of them. If it weren't for his gloves, he would have surely drawn blood by now from how hard he was balling his fists.
Yes, he did love you more than he'd ever admit. And that was why this was not the end.
The older Fatui tell stories of when the second Harbinger's clones used to occupy the palace and lab, running about and bickering with each other. Yet the new ones can only tell tales of an eerie voice echoing throughout the corridor. The voice wasn't professional. But it was soothing, nice, good. But hearing it over and over again was starting to cause the regular agents to freak out.
No one could ever find out what or who it was, or where exactly it came from. Many came to accept that it was a normal occurrence. Especially Dottore. At least with this tape, he could never forget what your sweet voice was like, no matter if a century or two or three or more passed by again. He had every last word memorized in his mind, but it wasn't enough. Of course it wasn't, when the real deal was lying asleep in front of him, but it was a sufficient and lovely replacement for now.
As every morning and night passes by, a single thought constantly makes its way into his mind - 'I will save you.' And then maybe, you'll be able to sing that song without coughing throughout. A perfect rendition. Though, he would like to see if you could release a newer edition of it, considering how much he has changed.
I AM EXPLODING BC OF U KAI 😭😔😨😨🫠🫠

here's some art for this chapter!
Tumblr media
john egan was not made for college in the slightest.
he enjoyed the experience– the parties, the friends he made, the experimenting with almost every drug in the book– but the academics? not so much.
he wasn't even sure how he got in, honestly. he did all the paperwork when he was high one night, and he gotten a letter saying he was accepted. his momma was so happy for him.
he had skipped class a lot, opting to go out and meet up with a dude he matched with on tinder instead and fucking his brains out in a shady alleyway and ghosting him the next day. when he did attend class, he would sleep through it and miss almost everything his professor said.
he was bad with his assignments too. he never turned them in on time, always promising his professors via email that he'd get it turned in by the end of the week. and when he didn't, he'd just leave it be.
that's the thing about college though– unlike high school, there was no one to breathe down your neck to tell you to do your schoolwork. they expected you to fend for yourself because you were an adult now.
john honestly never had a reason to go to class. until last week.
here he was, in god knows what class listening to his professor drone on about square roots…something like that. did he even sign up for a math class?
whatever. all he was focussed on was the pretty blonde boy that had found a seat right in front of him. he had sleepy blue eyes and pouty pink lips that put every woman he’s ever seen to shame. his hair fell in ribbons over his shoulders, shiny and soft looking. he couldn't take his eyes off of him.
he showed up last week without a word, hair in a messy little ponytail and dressed up in a frayed jean jacket and leather pants. john was so happy he decided to show up to class that day. the minute that blonde beauty walked in, he perked right up, immediately gaining an interest in this particular class.
that entire day, he watched as he wrote line upon line upon line of notes, muscles in his hand moving dutifully.
god.
john had started waking up and walking to class everyday, even opting to get here early just to watch the new boy set up his little work station. he had plenty of pens and pencils and scratch paper to take notes on, but this week he seemed to have finally invested in a laptop for his notes instead– which was a shame, because he had pretty handwriting.
despite a week passing, he had only just text curt about the new boy today, telling him every little detail he’s remembered.
curtie 🖕🏻💚
‘hello???? you’re just gonna say all this and not send a picture???’
curtie🖕🏻💚
‘you’re evil’
bucky huffed out a little laugh.
‘i don't know if you've been told this, but taking pictures of people you don't know is weird.’
curtie 🖕🏻💚
‘ITS FOR SCIENCE’
‘NO curt’
curtie 🖕🏻💚
‘FINE. i’ll just come over there’
“oh god,” john sighed, letting his head fall forward onto the table in front of him, slightly embarrassed. he loved curt to death, but he acted like he was in heat sometimes- like he just couldn't help himself around a good looking guy.
he peeked at the boy again. today, the boy was dressed a little less flashy than the previous days– only wearing a simple white shirt and gray sweatpants.
he was hyperfocused on his laptop as he soaked up the professors words like a sponge, typing his words into a well organized word document with quick, nimble fingers. his glasses slid lower on his nose, making him take a hand away from his keyboard for a split second and push them back up to the bridge.
john was hypnotized by every movement of his. he seemed so calm, collected– calculated. he seemed like everything bucky wasn't. he was the type of boy that john had always fantasized about taking home and corrupting beyond repair.
fucked up, yeah, but the thought of taking this pretty, smart blonde beauty to bed and making him scream and yell and forget everything nerdy he was typing until he could think of nothing but john’s name– bringing him to filthy, low down clubs and having him take all kinds of things and then fucking him in his car while he giggled, just happy to be there…
god, what an image he created for himself.
“issat him?”
“christ–” john sputtered, startled as curt’s voice suddenly sounded in his ear, arm suddenly slung around his shoulder. “didn't think you were actually comin’.”
“you know me, bucky.” the boy smiled, eyes fixed hard on the blonde, scanning every single little detail. “i hear about a hot guy, i just can't help myself. it's a curse.”
“i gotta get you spayed or something,” he joked, tugging the shorter boy’s hoodie so that he was sat in the chair next to him. “siddown.”
they spent a good while just staring, before curt broke the silence with a filthy whisper in bucky’s ear.
“think he'd be down for a threeway?”
“curtis.”
“what? man, god knows what you're thinkin’ i’m just brave enough to say what i’m thinking out loud.”
“yeah, in a class full of people,” he hissed, flicking curt on the side of the head. “keep your voice down.”
“what's your deal?” curt huffed, rubbing at the spot john had struck him bitterly. “you’d be flirting with a guy this hot by now. it's like you're scared or something.”
“i’m not scared– you're just bein’ too goddamn loud.” john said, elbowing him in the side sharply. “besides, he seems like the shy type- so i’ll have to get him to warm up to me before i can even suggest anything, y’know?”
“ughhh,” curt groaned, falling back dramatically and clutching his chest as if he were dying. “i dunno if i can wait johnny-boy. i wanna devour him like thanksgiving dinner and lick the plate clean.”
“i know you do.” john mumbled, rubbing at his temples. “just try and be patient, yeah? don't you got other boy toys you can sleep with in the meantime?”
“none as good lookin’ as him.”
“down boy.” john teased. “i got this. just give me a week and we'll have him in our dorm.”
curt huffed and stood from where he was seated, shoving his hands into his loose pockets. “alright, but i’ll be damned if i wait a day longer.”
and there he went, striding out of the classroom like he owned the damn place, pants falling low on his hips because he'd lost his goddamn belt somewhere the week before. that boy was more of a mess than he was.
class came to a close, and john sighed and picked up his bag nonchalantly. he had been brainstorming a way to even approach the guy, seeing as he looked like the quieter type. he had a nagging feeling that if he tried to just go up to him and strike up a conversation he'd freak him out a little bit.
he must've spaced out. when he came to, the room was empty, save for the professor organizing his haphazard work space.
“i know you aren't gonna ask me any questions about the lecture, egan,” the frumpy old man said, glaring up at him. “you know where the door is.”
“gee, thanks.” john mumbled under his breath.
he turned to leave, bag slung lazily over his shoulder, only for something glimmering under the fluorescent lights of the room to catch his eye.
he turned to look at the object. it was a pair of glasses.
he practically jumped over the table to get to where the blonde was sat previously, taking hold of the thin-framed specs in his large hand.
perfect.
he dashed out of the classroom, hoping he could still run into him somewhere outside since class hadn't ended that long ago. he made his way into the hall, which was fairly vacant, and scanned for him almost frantically.
there.
he was standing near the exit door, fumbling through his satchel for something– and john hard a fairly good idea of what he was looking for. he took a deep breath, straightened his back and walked towards him, shoving the bifocals in his pocket.
“hey,” he started, obviously scaring the blonde a bit as his eyes shot up from his bag, meeting john’s. “lose something?”
“oh, uh,”
he looked caught off guard, but his face remained surprisingly stoic. the only tell that he was nervous was his stiff posture and twitching fingers.
“yeah, lost my glasses. think i left ‘em somewhere.”
god, his voice was deep– smooth and soft with a hint of a southern twang.
his plump bottom lip twitched slightly as he took his hand out of his cluttered handbag, letting them rest at his sides. he fidgeted with nimble fingers, picking at a loose string that stuck out from his frayed jeans.
he was so much cuter up close. john could really get a good look at all of his features– his sleepy eyes, his soft hair, his straight nose, the freckles that dotted his cheeks, and the musky, sandalwood-vanilla scent that wafted off of him. john wanted to devour him.
he pulled the aforementioned glasses from the pocket of his basketball shorts, presenting them to the blonde. “y’mean these?”
the blonde perked up.
“oh, yeah,” he said, quickly taking them and sliding them back onto his face, missing the way john jumped a little as their skin made contact for a split second. “thanks. must’ve dropped ‘em.”
“nah, left them in class, actually,” john informed, nodding back to the door of the now barren math room. “saw ‘em sitting on the table, so i picked ‘em up.”
“uh, thanks,” he said, hands moving to clutch at the strap of his satchel. “how’d you know they were mine?”
john chuckled and gave his most charming smile, cocking his head to the side slightly, just to add to the charm a bit. “couldn't forget a cutie like you sittin’ in front of me.”
the boy turned his head away at the words, but john didn't miss the way his cheeks flushed a soft, sweet shade of pink. he couldn't help but smirk.
his neck tensed, letting john see all of the muscles in a way that made him want to sink his teeth into him right then and there. he didn't miss how his shirt was cropped slightly either, a little bit of skin showing as he reached to scratch at the back of his reddening neck.
gotcha.
“oh. uh, well…thank you.” he mumbled, a nimble finger running up and down the faded strap of his satchel. “nice of you to return ‘em.”
“of course. who wouldn't? i’m sure everyone would want an excuse to talk to you,” john replied, smiling wider. “what’s your name?”
“oh– it’s gale.” he said, gathering himself and making eye contact with john once more. “gale cleven.”
“nice to meet you, gale,” he crooned, holding out a large hand. “i’m john egan. friends call me bucky.”
“nice to meet you,” he said softly, a slight smile crossing his face as he took john’s hand, shaking it firmly. “bucky.”
“good boy,” he said seamlessly, watching as gale’s face went a pale pink once more. “how about you grab a drink with me? i’ll consider us even for the glasses.”
“ah, i’d love to, but,”
he faltered, and john’s heart sank for a moment. he must've overstepped.
“i don't drink. even if i did, i’m 19, so i can’t legally get a drink at bars.”
john shrugged, playing off his miscalculation as he released gale’s hand. “a’ight. how about a bite to eat then?”
gale went quiet, lip twitching once more as he mulled over john’s offer. bucky worried his bottom lip with his teeth in anticipation.
“not today,” gale exhaled. “gotta study, y’know. but i’m free tomorrow?”
“okay. i’m counting on you to keep your word on this.” he purred, flashing him a sly wink as he walked past him, out the door. “see ya tomorrow, gale.”
—---------------------
“so, did you ask him?”
“curt, didn't i say a week?” john huffed, shucking his shirt off and tossing it aside. “you're real impatient, you know that?”
“he's hot.” curt said urgently. “god, if i got a chance to talk to him i’d–”
“i know, which is why i didn't let you talk to him.” john laughed, sitting on the edge of his bed. “you’d scare him off and he'd probably report us or something. it’s happened before.”
“no one's reported us.”
“yet.”
“whatever.” curt sighed, crossing his arms like a petulant child. “did you at least get a name? what color are his eyes? what’s he smell like?”
“gale. gale cleven.” john recalled fondly. “he’s got big baby blues, and he smells real good. like those ridiculously overpriced colognes you love so much. god– his voice is so deep too, curtie.”
“...gale sounds like a chick’s name.”
“curt.”
“what, it does!”
“and you think you’d be able to get him to agree to a threeway? with a mouth like that?” john huffed. “you're such a shit talker.”
“it’s not on purpose, i promise.” he said with a bratty roll of his eyes. “i just think honesty is the best policy. ain’t that a core value or sumn?”
“it is– but not if you’re thinking of telling a cute blonde guy you wanna fuck that his name sounds like a chick’s name.”
“are you gonna tell me it doesn’t? honestly?”
“you just–” john pauses, lips pressed into a flat line. “you shouldn't say it.”
“so you agree!” he cackles, falling back with the force of his raucous laughter. “oh johnny, you're such a hypocrite.”
bucky all but pounced on curt, relishing the little yip that came from him as he was pinned against the shitty little dorm mattress. john’s hand was gripping the front of his hoodie, lifting him up slightly so that their faces were inches apart, breath mingling with one another.
“you've got such a smartass mouth, you know that?” he hissed, staring curt right in his crystal-blue eyes, which were wide with an obvious mix of arousal and fear.
this is what curt got a kick out of- riling bucky up and making him manhandle him. this wouldn't be the first time they had gotten carried away in their little friendly bickering matches, only for john to end up on top of or inside of curt. it was a little arrangement they had. they’d known one another since elementary school, and they'd only grown closer as they grew up.
curt was there for bucky throughout his worst– the drugs, the relapses- he’d seen john at his absolute worst, and he stayed right by his side.
he'd also seen curt at hit lowest, dirty and covered in blood and other fluids that were from men that curt didn't want to name because he was sure ‘they didn't mean it’.
so much they've been through together. so many nights they've spent curled up together- crying, screaming, or just silent.
“yeah?” the boy exhaled, erection poking at the back of bucky’s thigh insistently. “why don't you shut me up then?”
he didn't need anymore permission. bucky pulled his half-hard cock free from his loose basketball shorts, shoving it roughly into curt’s mouth, laughing cruelly as the boy let out a little whiny sigh.
“didn't even gag. how many cocks you suck this week, huh? how many men you let violate your pretty mouth?”
another whine, tears gathering in the corners of his eyes as he began to lick and suckle at his cock weakly, hands grasping at john’s thighs.
the words were harsh, but he knew it’s what curt liked. he loved being talked about like he was an object- a little plaything for john’s personal gratification.
he rolled his hips forward, smirking as curt gagged slightly at the nudge of john’s cockhead against the back of his throat. spit was running down the corners of his mouth, creating a pretty, messy little picture below him.
“fucking hell, love your mouth.” he sighed, settling into a slow rhythm, savoring the feeling of curt moaning and whimpering around him like a pitiful little puppy. “love when i get to take you like this. you think gale would fill you up like this?”
a downright filthy groan left curt’s mouth at that, nails biting into the plush skin of john’s thighs. bucky laughed throatily. tugging at curt’s damp curls until just his tip was in the warm chasm of his mouth.
“hah….thought he had a chick’s name? bet you don't really care. you’d still moan for his cock like the whore that you are, huh?”
curt’s tongue licked at the weeping head of bucky’s dick, shuddering at the taste of precum drizzling over his pink little tongue. his chest was heaving with each breath he took, eyes almost rolling into the back of his head as john forced him to swallow his cock once more.
“want me to cum down your throat, curtie? gonna imagine that it’s gale?”
a garbled word that sounded like ‘fuck’ escaped the shorter boy’s throat, his nails scratching down his thighs and leaving bloody little marks that would be hard to explain– but he didn't care. his thrusts got sloppier, more frantic as that familiar warmth built at the base of his spine.
“shit–”
he pulled free from curt’s throat with a filthy wet sound, jerking his wet cock as he spilled all over curt’s scrunched up face. his cheeks were pink and wet with a mix of john’s precum and his own spit, which made such a beautiful little picture as his spend was added to it.
they both sat there panting for a bit, before curt shoved him in his chest.
“i said down my throat, asshole.”
john just shrugged, smirking crookedly. “i hear cum is great for your skin. just trying to keep you looking young.”
curt shoved him again, enough to make him stumble off of his chest and onto the floor, which made them both laugh.
“god, now i gotta shower again,” curt huffed, wiping at his face with his hand. “god, you're such a dick.”
“you're welcome,” bucky called out as curt shuffled off to the bathroom, shooting him the finger as he closed the door behind him. he was left laying there, cock still wet and messy with curt’s saliva as his eyes drifted shut. images of gale, spread out below him, flushed and fucked out flashed prettily like a homemade porno behind his eyelids.
tomorrow, he was gonna win that blonde boy over no matter what.

The day you were told you were pregnant was you and Dante's most exciting moment. You and Dante prepped and got everything ready in anticipation for the baby. Until one day, you awoke to the worst case scenario every expecting mother fears. Now you are unsure how to proceed in the aftermath. But your loving husband Dante isn't going to let you go through this alone.
You remember the day you told Dante to take you to the hospital after you woke up to throw up last night's take-out and realising your monthly was late.
You remember sitting nervously in the waiting room with Dante, anxiously biting your nails and Dante tapping his foot nervously as you both awaited results. Then the doctor called you both in.
You remember feeling nervous until the doctor told you the words.
"You are pregnant"
You remember looking at Dante, nervously. Then you felt joy at seeing Dante give you the biggest, most happiest grin ever and you both shared a joyful laughter as he picked you up and spun you around, holding gently on to you as you giggled.
Dante leaned forward and planted a big kiss on your head.
"I'm gonna be a Dad" Spoke Dante excitingly and softly.
"I'm gonna be a Mom" You Gasped, feeling the excitement bubbling.
"A badass Mom!" Remarked Dante winking at you as you giggled.
"And you, a badass Dad" You Replied back and kissed Dante with happy tears in your eyes.
Everything went great. Dante told Vergil and Nero about it, you told the girls Kyrie, Trish, Nico and Lady. Patty and Morrison stopped by to give their congratulations and you couldn't be happier.
The weeks flew by. You and Dante were building the nursery, Nico and Nero helping Dante build the crib. You didn't know what colour to paint the nursery.
"Pink!" Cried Patty excitedly.
"What if the baby's a boy?" You Asked Patty sweetly.
"Blue then!" Patty Replied.
"Yeah but we don't know if the baby's a girl or boy" Dante Remarked. You nodded as the baby's gender was still unknown.
"How about a different colour than the traditional colours? Maybe a nice bright yellow?" You Suggested.
"Or a flaming hot red?" Suggested Dante.
"How about green?" Patty Asked.
"Green? That actually sounds nice. Green is a lovely colour" You Replied smiling softly as Patty danced around excitingly. For an 18 year old, Patty was still full of beans as ever.
Kyrie took you shopping, picked out cute baby clothes and maternity clothes. Looking at the purchased baby shoes, your heart raced excitedly as you thought of the baby, waddling around in these shoes.
You and Dante attended appointments with the doctors and made sure to take your prenatals. Everything was going great. You and Dante were looking forward to the day you'd meet your child.
It was all going well......until it wasn't. One morning, you woke up to blood staining the bedsheets and pain shooting through you. Panic immediately set in. It was too early, far too early for the baby.
You were rushed to hospital and down the hospital's hallways as Dante held your hand throughout. You turned to the doctor, begging for answers.
"Doctor, it's too early for the baby! It's too early! Is something wrong?!" You Cried, panicking.
"Everything's all right, we're gonna help you" The Doctor would say but you didn't feel reassured. The doctors wheeled you into the room and Dante was made to wait outside the room.
After a hour or so, the doctor came out and told Dante the most heart crushing news no expecting father to be has to hear.
"Your wife has suffered a miscarriage. I'm very sorry Mr. Sparda. This is a very difficult situation and I understand if you need a moment or two" Explained the doctor.
Dante's heart sank. The child you and Dante made together, the child you both were eager to meet, was gone. Not even beginning to live and already their life was snuffed out.
And Y/N? Oh god was she okay?
"My wife! How's is she? Please tell me she's alright" Asked Dante tearfully.
"Your wife's condition is stable. She'll be alright. Though this unfortunate news will not be easy to take in. Let her rest first, in the morning you can go in to her. She'll need you when we tell her the unfortunate news" Explained the doctor.
And Dante was there, holding your hand as you screamed and cried upon hearing the news. Dante held you close as you sobbed into his chest, your heart utterly broken. Dante's eyes welled up with tears and he too quietly sobbed with you. But there was one thing you wanted to know.
"Was it a girl? Or a boy?" You Asked tearfully.
The doctor looked at his notes and looked at you with sympathy.
"It was a girl" Answered the doctor and a wave of hot tears came over you and Dante as you both held on to each other and cried.
When you were cleared to go home, you felt like a zombie. You'd walk past the nursery and see the crib, empty and cold. The green paint and design of the room mocked you, the toys you received from friends and family, taunting you. Worst was holding the shoes you picked out for the baby, it's small size making your heart shatter all over again as fresh tears welled in your eyes as you clutched the baby shoes close to your chest and sobbed.
"This wasn't supposed to happen! We were supposed to be a family! Why did this happen to us? Why?" You Sobbed loudly.
Dante came upstairs and took you into his arms as you both sat on the floor of the nursery.
"I'm sorry Dante" You Whimpered.
"Hey, don't say that. Don't ever apologise for something that we couldn't control. You did everything right, you ate good and took your prenatals. We went to the appointments, we did everything we could" Explained Dante as he held you in his arms.
"But why? We were gonna be a family. We were gonna have a little girl" You Sniffled.
"I don't know why babe. I wish I knew, some people would say it wasn't meant to be but I honestly don't know what to say to make this better. Maybe there's nothing to say to make this all better. But i know one thing. I love you Y/N and I know this feeling won't heal overnight but I promise I'll be here by your side. You don't have to go through this alone. We'll do this together, I promise you Y/N" Declared Dante.
You both looked into each other's teary eyes.
"We'll get through this" Dante Assured you.
"Together?" You Asked, feeling so much love for your husband in that moment and even though the pain will not go away overnight, you knew you didn't have to go through this alone.
"Always" Replied Dante and together you both shared a comforting embrace, tears falling from both each other's eyes.
That was 3 years ago and looking back on that terrible moment, you were thankful for your husband. Friends and family came together for you two and with their support, your recovery from this traumatic chapter in your lives began. It was a slow recovery, there were times where things got hard but you and Dante had each other and slowly you both pulled through.
To help with copying with the loss, You and Dante kept the pregnancy scan photos, along with a pink hair ribbon, a pair of baby shoes and a small teddy in a decorative box on the mantlepiece, a sort of memorial to the little girl you and Dante were hoping to meet. You both named her "Danielle".
3 years on and you both pulled through, stronger and closer than ever. You looked over to the mantlepiece and smiled softly.
You then turned to the window and smiled when you felt Dante's arms wrap around you.
"Hey babe" Purred Dante happily as he nuzzled your neck lovingly.
"Hey honey" You Replied and turned to kiss your husband's scruffy cheek. You both chuckled and continued looking out the window, deep in thought.
"Something on your mind?" Asked Dante softly.
"Nothing much. Just....." You Began but stopped yourself. Dante frowned, confused.
"What's wrong babe?" Asked Dante turning you around to face him. You felt unsure how to tell him what you were thinking.
"It's just......" You Began.
"Go on" Spoke Dante softly.
"I wanna try again" You Answered.
Dante looked shocked, then surprised.
"You mean, try for a baby?" Dante Asked nervously. You nodded.
"I think I'm ready. But if you're not, we can always wait Dante" You Assured him, smiling softly.
"Only if you are sure you're ready babe" Said Dante.
"I am" You Confirmed, confident.
"Alright then. Shall we take this upstairs?" Asked Dante, smirking. You giggled softly and let Dante carry you upstairs.
"Yes, my darling husband" You Remarked and you two proceeded upstairs.
A few weeks later, you were confirmed to be pregnant. Naturally you and Dante were nervous, given what happened 3 years ago. But soon it was apparent, this time was going to be different.
9 months later, you gave birth to a beautiful boy. You and Dante named him Julian. And you both promised little Julian that when he grows up, you will tell him about his sister who went on to become an angel and watch over you, Dante and baby Julian.

❤️‍🩹Okay, so that was a lot of angst. And I due to the subject of the story, I decided to put in a happy ending for reader and Dante. It would feel wrong of me to leave it here without giving it at least a happy ending❤️‍🩹
Thanks again for the request👍❤️

Home At Last.
Tumblr media
Warnings: none, just fluff. Maybe some sad undertones at first
Word Count: 1.8K
He was finally home, except it didn't quite feel the same. Not the way he left it. It felt like he was coming back to something that wasn't his anymore, or simply wasn't for him anymore. A house built on blood money that contained a life far softer than he deserved, or maybe he was too defiled at this point to be welcomed into such a thing. The sunlight that shone through countless windows was too bright. The house was so quiet. Silky sheets were soft against his skin, rougher than when he left, smooth against scarred. And while that bed—his bed—should be comfortable, he lied so rigged every night. Dark and fancy clothes did well to cover up the last traces of torture and near death, but they couldn't hide the blue glow that still seeped through. His nobility didn't quite fit anymore.
He wasn't sure if he was more nervous over the soft light or his first outing in months. Ahem, his first date in months, as you'd so lovingly referred to it as when you asked a few nights ago. Maybe he was just nervous to look as good for you as he did before, or maybe he was nervous to find himself in a crowd again, especially as he read through more and more golden-printed cards and golden-hued whiskeys. Would this many people be so eager to turn his way? Who even were they? Would they have been so eager to send out these welcome home gifts after cutting off their money maker? He was sure his point was proven through every cookie-cutter font and press, and maybe even through the questionable bottles of expensive alcohol. Were these orchids even real? Or maybe you'd so carefully kept them alive for whenever he'd finally decide to sort through the gifts that were starting to take up space on the glass table in the living area. He can remember standing here events prior, feeling so appreciated and loved, but now this full array of stuff felt empty. It was just social graces to keep up relations. His home wasn't inviting, and his people weren't welcoming. He wasn't sure if this was the same card he'd been staring at or the next, sidetracked in remembering why he hadn't checked through them all this time.
He was already tuned in to the sharp clack of heels echoing from the stairs, but, for the first time since he returned, he didn't feel the need to turn at the sound of approaching steps, or flinch away from the hands smoothing over his jet-black suit jacket before arms loosely wrapped around his waist from behind. He didn't even need to hide the contents in his hands from prying eyes when you rested your cheek against his arm. A change he hardly acknowledged, but for you, it made all the difference. So you carried on like normal.
"Finally going through the pile?" You kept your voice soft, but your arms tightened around him a little more, and you nuzzled into his upper arm. As much as you loved just breathing him in again, you missed the scent of vanilla and sandalwood that accompanied him on special occasions. You opened your eyes at his half-interested hum, dragging you from your trance.
"A little," he mumbled, flipping the card over in his hand. He looked it over like there would be a secret message hidden on the back.
"Anything good?" You chimed in again. Truthfully, you didn't care much about the card in his hand or the gifts on the table. Your attention was on the tired eyes that scanned over the table and the pursing of his palish pink lips.
"Not really." Tony's halfhearted reply was just as quiet as his last. You watched him fold the card closed before tossing it onto the table. A now free hand circled around your wrist, but he still wouldn't meet your patient gaze. Instead, those brown eyes flicked down to the welcoming arms around him before he turned to look out the nearby wrap of windows. The bright lights of crowded civilization broke the night sky even from atop this hill of isolation. For once, he realized he felt safe behind these walls again. Even when those bright lights were nearly breaking through the dimness of the room, your body moving around him was here to keep him safe, and your hand on his cheek drew him away. Your eyes were also bright, but warming rather than warning. He didn't want to drown them out with the harsh lighting out there. He needed to learn how to be home first.
"What if we just stayed here tonight instead?" He asked lowly, tone meek. That honeyed tone was so innocent where it was usually so sensual. He felt panic rising when the light behind your eyes faded, and your soft smile failed to hide a frown. It made the already low lighting darker, darker than he preferred it. "I know, I know," he quickly apologized in acknowledging disappointment. Hands carefully drifted over your arms.
"But you look so handsome," you cooed with a (mostly) playful pout, smoothing over his suit and gently tugging at the hem. A shy grin spread across his face at your words, and he looked down for a few seconds to find his composure. But even when he looked back up, flickering eyes still had trouble maintaining contact.
"And I'll keep being handsome," he quipped back, brow raising as he followed the tug on his jacket. A smile tugged at the corner of your lips, both excited to be playing with him again and excited to see him playing at all. You carefully ran your hand through the flop of hair over his forehead that was a little too long now to stay put, tucking it back as best as you could before cupping his cheek again. You didn't hesitate to lean in, softly bringing your lips to his. He let you stay as long as you wanted this time, frozen in place but relaxed in your kiss. He almost wanted to chase after you when you pulled away, opting out with a longing glance to your lips and a breath of air.
"Okay," you finally said, giving in to his request. You could be patient for a little while longer. You hadn't had much fun in this house lately, anyway. Still pressed against him, you rested your hand on his shoulder for leverage, drawing his curious gaze when you shook off your heeled shoes. "But I'm not going to keep these heels on." He chuckled, watching you kick them away. He followed your lead, slipping out of his pair of black dress shoes and carelessly sliding them across the floor, leaving him in a pair of tall black socks. He looked back at you after doing so, his self-satisfied grin making you giggle. Without another word and a slight shake of your head, you rested your forehead against his chest, its soft blue glow lighting up behind your closed eyes. Just as your arms wrapped around his neck, his tentatively wrapped around your waist. He felt you shift, slightly panicked when you rested your cheek against the unnatural hardness of his new centerpiece, but you didn't seem to mind. The pressure sent an ache through his chest, but he wasn't going to let his haunts ruin any more than he'd already let them. In a house where he'd been too scared to find peace again, you instead brought it to him. Or maybe he just finally let it in.
Just as he settled into your embrace, nuzzling into your hair and desperately pulling you just a bit closer, your voice broke the comforting silence. "Your heartbeat sounds different," you whispered, unthinking. You'd made the observation before and kept it to yourself in fear of his self-consciousness, but maybe it was time to confront it. It wouldn't go away, after all, but that wasn't a bad thing. He wasn't a bad thing. You felt him go stiff again.
"Does it?" He asked, even though he had just gotten the answer. Even shrouded in dim light and cloaked in fanciful threads, he still couldn't hide it for you. "I'm sorry." His apology carried no emotion, a sincerity beyond even despair. He was confused at your huff of laughter and the slight shake of your head. "It's okay," you reassured him, cozying into him to prove your point, "I'm just glad to hear it again." Even though he wasn't exactly the same, he was still your Tony.
A hand drifted up your spine to get lost in your hair, and the long kiss to the top of your head communicated for him. Even with the slight aching, he kept you close, but it wasn't the pain that made him tremble around you. So, as he always did to quell his energized emotions, he kept moving. He swayed with you, from side to side, similar to soothingly rocking a baby. Something about it felt silly in this dark and quiet house, but by now these steps had long been imprinted into the wood beneath your feet. You weren't sure how long you stayed that way, but it could never be enough time to make up for his absence, nor make up for how long he kept closeness at bay.
There was a fiery sound, immediate warmth from a crackling blaze. While you simply turned to your other cheek to inspect the gas-powered fireplace, Tony flinched in the opposite direction. He stopped, but he never let go. You lifted your head, watching him inspect the harmlessness of the stone-walled hearth, still finding new fears to overcome even at home. At least he didn't flinch at the sound of the culprit explaining his good intentions.
"I thought you two were having a moment," JARVIS' apologetic voice filled the silence, "as Mr. Stark would say." As if to hammer home the point, or to ensure he could create "a moment," that disembodied voice was replaced with slow music, a melody you couldn't quite place, but probably something you'd danced to before at a ball or event. Something close enough. You chuckled, biting at your lip when Tony smiled, too, still staring into the flames. You quickly pecked the cheek facing you, bringing him back to stare into your eyes instead, brighter again. And maybe it was just the warm light nearby, but his seemed brighter too. The hand in your hair found one of yours on his neck, lacing his finger with yours. With a deep breath and the courage to move on once more, he continued along. Your bare feet followed in step with jet-black socks.
Now this felt like home.

Things she thought were murdered along with her best friend, things she thought went missing with her boyfriend. Things that followed her to Quantico, Virginia. Previous Chapter~ Next Chapter Chapter Warnings: Return of the Note, also I know some of the things I say are made up but it's my creativity. ;)
________________________________________ Emily joked while still heaving with laughter, I shook my head and walked to the register and paid for the paper weight. They followed with small smiles and light chuckles. We walked out of the store and headed to the exit so we could go back to my apartment, when we got to my car we put our bags in the trunk. I went to open the front door when I noticed a note on my windshield, I grabbed it and flipped it. Another "See you soon" note written in blue ink with a drawing of Y/F/F. I grabbed it and balled it up throwing it away before getting in the car, "What was that?" Emily asked, "A business card." I lied. She nodded and we headed back to my apartment, we spent the last couple of hours left in the day eating dinner and gossiping. And soon after they left and I decided to turn in early for the night. ________________________________________ 9 years ago ________________________________________ Today was my first day at the BAU as a member of the team, no longer a trainee. Derek was waiting for me when the elevator doors opened, when he saw me he looked down at my outfit and I immediately felt insecure and afraid that I was over or underdressed. "What? Is my outfit that bad?" He smirked and shook his head and out of the corner of my eye I saw Penelope coming towards us. For someone in six inch heels she's walking really fast. "Whoa Y/N! You look amazing, I really love that color shirt." I was wearing a dark blue blazer with hints of sky blue on the cuffs of the shirt, black button dress pants that very much accentuated my hips, butt and legs and black boots. "Thank you. But are you sure it's not too much?" Derek looked at Penelope's print pink polka dot dress and six inch pink heels and big pink glasses before looking back at me with a 'Really?' look on his face. I nodded and he walked beside me before leading me into the bullpen, a blonde woman spotted us and walked over,. "Hey you must our newest team member, Y/N right?" I nodded and she stuck her hand out, "I'm JJ nice to meet you." I shook her hand smiling, "Nice to meet you too." She pointed over to a dark haired woman facing her computer, "That's Emily Prentiss, and that's Spencer Reid." She said pointing over to the tall man staring at me. "Hello!" I said loudly and Emily looked up from her computer walked over to us giving me a handshake and welcoming me to the team. I pointed at Spencer, "You like Doctor Who?" He nodded and Derek interrupted him before he could speak, "Yeah brainiac over there is the nerd of the team." I shot him a dirty look, "I remember there was a time when you were the nerdy one Derek. Or have you forgotten your phase?" His expression changed quickly and I smiled. "As you were saying before you were so rudely interrupted." I say looking back at Spencer with a smile, "Oh yeah did you know that Doctor Who was originally created as a children's series?" I shook my head surprised, "No I didn't you should tell me more." I walked over to him and sat on his desk, while he sat in his chair and told me more facts about Doctor Who. "Well there's something you don't see everyday." Someone walks over to me and Spencer and places their hand on his shoulder, effectively shutting him up. I frown and look at the man, "Is our boy genius boring you with his facts?" I shook my head, "No I asked him to tell me more about his Doctor Who facts, because I love that show." He nodded and smiled, sticking out his hand. ""David Rossi." I smirked and shook his hand, "I know. I've read all your books." He smiled. "It's what made me want to become a profiler." Derek made a noise of shock, "I thought I was the reason you wanted to become a Profiler?" I smirked and looked at him, "I lied." His jaw dropped and Emily started laughing and the unit chief, my new boss, exited his office. "I see you all have met Agent Y/L/N, while I'm glad you have introduced yourselves we have a case." I noticed the stern tone in his voice which meant our fun was over.

Romeo to my Juliet.
Pairing: Austin!Elvis x black reader
Warning: Time-era racism, Forbidden Love, Fluff, First kiss, Racial slurs, and Angst.
Summary: being in a world where blacks and whites were separated from one another, it was 'wrong' to love a different race but that didn't stop you and Elvis. The world didn't agree, your parents didn't agree but you didn't care he was your Romeo.
Tumblr media
I remember when I met Elvis I was but a little girl and I will never forget him, for he was one of the first white folk I've ever met. Not a lot of those folks moved to this small town of ours.
We were inseparable and we still are even though we both moved to Memphis, Tennessee. Sadly we couldn't live in the same neighborhood because of Separation laws but that didn't stop Elvis from sneaking over to my house like now.
Elvis and I sneaked up to my rooftop, the stars shined bright. Elvis lay beside me with his hands behind his head as he told me about the Hayride.
"I tell you them girls went crazy once I started to feel that music" He chuckled at the memory, I can't blame them..Elvis is one of a kind, charming and stunning I know I shouldn't be thinking like that but I've loved Elvis since we were young. "I wish you were there, blueberry." He turned to look at me with a sad look.
I wish I could of been too.
"I know but I'll be right here if ya ever need me." I smiled at him, it was no use being sad over something that won't change, well, for now, he smiled that blinding smile back, and the world faded away, it was only him and me, I looked between his rose pink lips and his sky blues. We both inch closer and just as his mouth was about to touch mine a booming voice yelled "YOU BETTER GET DOWN HERE GIRL!" we parted like we were burned by hot iron "Coming!"I replied back and looked at Elvis one last time and whispered a goodbye, I rushed into my room and downstairs where my daddy and mother was.
Silence lingered in the air, my mother sighed breaking it "I got this DL." she kissed my daddy's cheek before she takes my hand and sat us down on the worn-out couch, Daddy not far behind. "Sugar..you need to stop seeing that white boy." My mother spoke up "what?" I asked in disbelief "She said we don't want you to see that greaser"My father tell me firmly " He ain't good for you and we know about your 'little feels' for him. I forbid you from EVER seein' t-that cracker" He orders me "DL!" My mother hissed "What Tamara?! I said what needed to be said" He storms off.
My mother sighs again "What your father meant to say was, Baby we're worried about you..this ain't a fairytale and this is a white people world we live in..They would kill you. Now I even know that boy is destined for something great and if you're on that ride you'll get hurt. Your daddy and I don't want that" She rubs my shoulders to assure me "Stay away from him and forget he ever existed. Ok?" she looked down at me and I nodded and looked at my lap as I hear her walk to where my father went.
Once I heard her footsteps leave and were out of earshot I ran outside, tears flowing like rivers down my cheeks. I sat down on the beat-up pouch with my head in my hands "Blueberry?" Elvis whispered looking at me with a soft look in his eyes, I stood up and tried to wipe the tears away but they just kept coming "Blueberry are you ok?" his hand meets and holds my cheek "I heard yelling" he continues. "how much did you hear?" I asked looking at the dirt ground.
He lifts my chin with the hand that was holding my cheek "Everything" 'no God no..' I open my mouth to try to explain but I didn't get the chance to for Elvis placed his lips on mine. It was like fireworks were shooting out around us, his hand was on the nape of my neck and my arms wrapped themselves around his neck.
"GIRL!!" My daddy's voice breaks out of the silent night, Elvis parted from me and gazed back at the house. " I have to go." "n-no please." I begged, "I have to, wait for me ok?" I nodded hopelessly. He kissed me one more time with so much passion it left me a little dazed. Elvis rushed to where he had parked his truck and as he started to drive away he looked through the review mirror at me and I waved goodbye.
.....
I haven't seen him since that night, I waited and waited, and it has been 3 years since, last I heard he was drafted into the military, I tried to write to him, but he never answered, not once.
I was now 23 and had gotten my own home, My mother pushed me to find a husband but I don't want to, and I don't think I ever will, I can't see myself marryin' somebody else. I sighed as I walk out of a Boutique on Beale Street, I couldn't find a single dress for my cousin. I continue to walk down the street when I bumped into someone "I'm so sorry mister-Elvis!" I gasped in shock, he looked just as gorgeous as before he left, his hair shined a bright black and his eyes were sparkling blue, a smile on his face. A smile.
"You..you! How dare you smile at me, I waited Elvis as you want me to! I was so lonely-" I barked I stopped when I saw Elvis drop to one knee with a small box in his hand. He opens the box and a beautiful ring was staring right at me "Now I know it wasn't right to have left My blueberry alone. But things happen so fast that I didn't know what to do but there is one thing I really know is that I love ya. I have since I was a boy and I don't give a damn what people have to say about us. So will you marry me?" He asked a smile still on his face, a nervous and hopeful smile.
I nodded my head speechless with tearful eyes as I watch him get and put the big diamond on my ring finger. I look at it in disbelief "Do you not like it? I can get another one" I didn't answer instead I pulled him into a kiss, my hands holding his cheeks and his arms around me, we only broke the kiss when we heard clapping surrounding us but all we saw was each other.
Looking into his eyes I agreed with him, I don't care what people think or say. I loved him and he loved me, he was my Romeo and I was his Juliet. It will always be that way.

tell me what friendship means to you
i think they are as fleeting as they are forever.
i remember being young, only four or five. the kid i played with the most moved away. i still think about him sometimes, i hope that he's doing well.
i remember being young, i remember going over to a friend's house so many times, til one day i decided i didn't like hanging out anymore. we were so young. i can't piece her face together anymore. i still have a keychain from her house. i stole it the day we never came back again. it's blue and pink and purple flowers. i stole it to remember her by.
i remember girl scouts, i remember being on the robotics team. i remember their faces, i remember long days spent trying to build something that would amaze. i remember that night where one of us broke down and mother took me and left, sending a message later to a parent on why. (we didn't hang out with them any more after that.)
i remember being young, i remember first being allowed online. it has been years since all but one of these people has come back. i still miss them, of course i'd remember the people i threw my future away for. it was for nothing. they are gone. i left one final post, hoping they'd come find me, hoping we could reconnect. it's been silence for years.
i remember feeling soaring hope one day thinking that i might be near one of them, that perhaps we could meet; but it was wishful thinking at best and foolishness at worst.
i'm happy i was able to hang onto one of them, but i don't know if we're still friends, not after what happened. it was my fault (i either care too much or care too little and here, i did both) and i haven't stopped replaying it all in my mind. i want to get out of the theater, i want to watch something else, please.
i lost them and found them and lost them again and found them again and it's a cycle that feels like i'm breaking apart every time.
i remember meeting so many people online, platonically adoring them, getting so swept up in the wonder of connection that i forgot it had to end.
i moved to another site, and it didn't help. i got lonelier, because at least i had been making connections previously. this place was ripe with life and yet it felt like i was in a deadzone. i had only got it for another friend, and i miss them so much now.
it's not like i didn't meet people there. but it didn't last. it wouldn't last and i think i knew that much better this time around.
and yet i got attached. it has been 1395 days, 20 hours, 32 minutes since a friend of mine went on hiatus, and i just hope they're doing alright wherever they are. i don't think i'll ever forget them.
to the friend i did keep from there:
i love you platonically, and i'm so happy we've stayed in touch. i miss what we had, but i'm glad we still have something at all.
i'm glad we met when we met. i think you needed it.
i care like a dagger, i love like a trap. i sink my teeth into you and you sink yours into me. everyone i have met, i remember. we make ourself permanent as if we are scars; we are like glass shards, adding to each other, changing each other irreversibly. how many make us real?
(trick question; we always have been.)
you have a scar on your palm and i one on my chin. trace it. it's the echoes of us. you won't forget me, and i won't forget you. we haven't talked in years. i still think of all we built. where are you now?
i trace my chin. right here.
i'm glad i have those who have known me for most of my life. we talked every day and then we didn't and then we did. we have stories we created that we'll only know, tears that only we shed. jokes we'll always tell.
i knew you when we weren't young enough to know better and now we're looking back and laughing.
i know the layout of your house like my own, i remember your laugh, your hair, how you hold yourself.
you're a wound and a scar and i couldn't ask for you to be anything but. red is a pretty color, i'll gladly let it flow.

you too - matt s.
chapter one (intro) ; mystery boy
Tumblr media
chapter 2
chapter 3
chapter 4
in which;
living out of an apartment in the city, it's your second year of university and things are going smoothly. one morning, your best friend annie tells you about a new boy attending your university; matthew sturniolo. he's hot, smart, and exactly your type. you don't think much of it, but once you meet him yourself, you can't seem to get him out of your mind- or your bed- and neither can he. but how long can you keep matt's triplet brothers, chris and nick, from finding out?
warnings - none (for this chapter !)
6:45am
my eyes slowly open to the sunrise slightly peeking through my window and the sound of birds chirping as i roll over, tap 'snooze' on my alarm, and sigh when i see what time it is. i rub my eyes and try to fight the tiredness flooding my body. as much as i love being to able to study literature at my dream university, waking up this early for lectures sucks.
today is tuesday, meaning i have almost 2 hours with my least favourite professor; mr bryan. luckily, my best friend annie, short for annalise, is picking me up afterward for brunch at starbucks. i would drive us there but unlike me, annie got her license the second she turned 16. i tried to get my license three times but didn't pass once and am way too scared of failure to re-try it. we're both 19 now and she's basically been my personal Uber for the last few years.
i rub my eyes once more, pulling the sheets off my body and standing up. i instantly walk to my bathroom and splash a hand full of cold water onto my face to help wake me up.
as I start to brush my teeth, i decide the silence in my apartment needs to be broken with some music. i walk back into my room and grab my speaker off the top of my dresser as well as my phone, opening spotify and clicking shuffle play on my liked songs.
valentine by COIN starts playing as a smile is suddenly plastered on my face.
"perfect.", i whisper to myself, turning the volume up by a few and walking back to the bathroom.
~
7:42am
blue.. or pink?  i tilt my head at my reflection and struggle to decide which long-sleeve shirt to wear.
"y/n? you there?"
screw it. i'll just wear a hoodie.
"...y/n?"
"sorry! i'll meet you out front in 5.", i apologise, remembering i'm on facetime with annie.
"ok.. don't take too long, i have something to tell you. and it's literally freezing out here. love you!"
"bye! love you too, annie!", i exclaim, making a kissy face at the camera before hanging up. i place my phone in the back pocket of my jeans and pull my favourite grey hoodie down from my dresser, sliding it slowly over my head so i don't mess up my hair too much. i grab my airpods and a random lip gloss from my bedside table and stuff them in my bag with my macbook and textbooks. glancing in the mirror once more, i hear a honk outside followed by annie impatiently yelling my name. i quickly turn my speaker off and rush into the kitchen, snatching my apartment keys off the counter and walking out the door.
~
as i stumble down a few steps and almost drop my bag on the concrete, i finally reach annie's car. i pull open the passenger door and hear bodies by dominic fike blaring. i get in and throw my stuff in the backseat as annie quickly turns the volume down and turns to face me.
"you're not gonna believe what happened this morning." grinning from ear to ear, annie turns back to face the road and puts the car in drive.
"ooh what is it? has mr bryan finally retired?", i reply with a giggle.
"better."
"better? no way."
annie giggles too and continues driving.
"well? tell me!", i say.
"there's a new boy. and he is definitely your type."
i roll my eyes sarcastically and look away from her. she says my name and i look back at her with half-fake annoyance plastered on my face.
"annie, you know i don't want anything to do with guys right now after what happened with the last one."
"just pleaseeee trust me on this, y/n! seriously, he's so hot."
"that's what you said last time! and the time before that!", i smile at her effort to hook me up with this mystery-boy.
"no this one's different! he's cute, and funny, and genuinely smart. he's studying filmmaking!", annie says in an attempt at being convincing.
"ok ok, what's his name then?". i try to hide my slight intrigue when she mentions film making; i was originally going to study filmmaking but chose literature instead as i felt i had more of a passion for writing.
"matthew - well, matt. i don't think anyone really calls him matthew. i mean, besides his triplet brothers when they make fun of him.", annie giggles.
"triplet brothers?"
~
before reaching our university, we drove for another 15 minutes listening to music and talking about this 'matt' boy - who i was slowly getting more and more excited to meet..

hello! could i request a reader that clings onto kunikida when they feel insecure? like after a bad day they just tackle kunikida out of the blue and wrap their arms around him HAHSHA idk i just really want kunikida to comfort me
thank you if you decide to write it!! but don't pressure yourself into doing it if you don't want to :) thank you again in advance huhu
a/n: hi! i tried to finish this asap since it feels a little urgent but it still took wayy longer than anticipated :') thank you for your patience!
Your sudden but no-longer-surprising cuddles were one of the spontaneous things that Kunikida loved. Despite his seeming nonchalance (and even annoyance at times), every embrace meant so much to him. He'd let you cling onto him even if he was shuffling through papers or revising his schedule; how could he ever deny affection from you?
But this time was different. Your arms were snaked around his waist and locked so tightly that he thought he'd be forced to sit like this on a bed all night. From that alone he knew something was up. However, once he felt the slightest shiver in your grasp, it was all but confirmed.
"What's wrong, Y/N?"
"It's nothing. Let's just stay like this... please."
Was it really nothing? Usually he'd simply obey without question, but now was different. Unable to shift his focus back to whatever the heck he was doing, he put aside his notebook and slid down until your faces were nearly touching.
"It's not okay," he said in a voice that softened as much as his eyes. "You know you can tell me, Y/N."
You knew that. You knew that well. But now that you're facing him like this, you weren't sure if you could bring yourself to be honest.
"It's something stupid. I-I don't-"
"If you're affected by it then it's not stupid."
Your troubled eyes hesitated to meet his, afraid that all they'd see would be exhaustion from the day's ordeals. It was unfortunately a common sight, and the last thing you wanted to do was add to that in any way.
Instead, you were met with such tender concern that it felt impossible not to give in.
"Of course, if you don't want to talk about it then it's fine," Kunikida added as he gently pulled you in for a tighter embrace. "I just don't want the weight of it all to crush you."
Funny thing is you were the one who said those exact words to him - in a different context, in a different light. Not once did you think it would ever apply to you. Yet here you were, just about to fall for those words the way he did back then.
Your thoughts flowed out much more smoothly than you expected. The doubts, the insecurities - everything. And he simply lay there patiently by your side, not letting go for even a moment.
"...so that's what's been bothering you?"
"I told you it's stupid," you repeated but with less than half the force from earlier. "Especially since you already showed me that portion in your notebook before... I don't want to discredit you or anything. It's really just... ugh."
You were referring to the few pages dedicated to you in his notebook. Things he loved about you, things he wanted to remember about you, etc. It nearly made you cry the first time he showed it to you.
As expected, he stiffened when you mentioned it. Agh. Maybe you shouldn't have brought it up-
"I suppose there's no choice, then."
Kunikida stood up and left the bedroom for a bit, leaving you wondering what he was doing. His trusty ideals were right on the nightstand, so why did he leave?
It didn't take long before he returned with a different notebook. It was larger and of a different type from what he normally used.
"I remember the night you read those original pages," he said calmly. "With how much you cried, there were so many splotches on the pages that I told myself I had to rewrite them."
Your cheeks turned pink at the memory. Alright. Yes. You didn't just nearly cry that night.
"I was going to continue them on the next pages of the ideals book, but there wasn't enough space. I was wrong to consider that in the first place, though. A few pages would never be enough."
He handed you the new journal with no hesitation this time. You quickly scanned the pages, overwhelmed by what and how much was written in it. It was basically an expanded version of that portion of his notebook and so much more.
Finally, you landed on the very first page - which really should have been the first thing you read - which made your watery eyes widen even further.
On it was a picture of you smiling, and below it was written: "Keeping Y/N Happy."
"I-I guess it's a bit, uh, what do you call it..." his face was turning red yet he did his best to maintain his composure. He cleared his throat before he spoke once more. "But seriously, the purpose of that is exactly as it's written there. If you want, there's an activities section that you can read and choose from - we can do that tomorrow."
You silently followed his suggestion while Kunikida, unable to contain his own emotions, continued.
"You may doubt yourself sometimes, and that's normal. You may even doubt me when I say that I genuinely trust you and your capabilities - and again, that's normal. The important thing is that you don't let it take over. That's why that," he pointed to the notebook in your hands," exists. To dispel the many uncertainties you may have with the few certainties that you do have. One of them being my love for you."
He gently took your hand and squeezed it firmly. His hands were cold.
"I love you, Y/N. I'll never get tired of reminding you that. If you need help with anything I'll find a way - we'll find a way. So trust me, okay?"
...what was the point of holding it in anymore?
You immediately wrapped your arms around him once more (after putting away the notebook gently, of course). The suddenness took him by surprise, but Kunikida quickly returned the gesture and placed a soft kiss on the top of your head.
"I love you too," you said between sobs. "Thank you so, so much. Sorry for making your shirt wet."
"It's fine."
"Also sorry for making your other notebook wet. I won't do it again, I promise."
"Don't make promises you can't keep," he replied lightheartedly. He wouldn't mind if you did get them wet unintentiona-
"On second thought," flashbacks from previous incidents of 'unintentional' water spillage suddenly stung him. "Make that promise. Please."
