The Black Trowel Collective, a group of American archaeologists, claimed there are suggestions that many historical cultures had more than two genders and so archaeologists should be "wary of projecting our modern sex and gender identity categories onto past individuals".
The group claimed scientists have a "long history of imposing modern patriarchal gender and sexual norms onto the past".
"Human gender is highly variable and... human beings have historically been comfortable with a range of genders beyond modern 'masculine' and 'feminine' binaries," the group wrote in a blog post.
The Daily Mail claims that some academics are beginning to label ancient human skeletons as 'non-binary' or 'gender neutral'.
The idea has been criticised by historian Jeremy Black, who said gender is key to understanding history.
"It is an absurd proposition as the difference between genders, just as the difference between religious, social and national groups, are key motors in history," he told the Daily Mail.
"This very ideological approach to knowledge means that we're in danger of making knowledge itself simply a matter of political preference."

Life continues to imitate parody. 🤡
"projecting our modern sex and gender identity categories onto past individuals"
Current gender woo is the invention and imposition of bored, modern first-world academic elites, which makes this absurdly ironic.
"we're in danger of making knowledge itself simply a matter of political preference."
This is literally the postmodern, social constructivist belief and objective.
No one ever needs to respond to this deranged ideology with anything other than "no."

We're enjoying Great Expectations. I am sure that, one day, there's going to be a role that Olivia Colman doesn't nail, but doesn't look like this is it. She's truly menacing as Miss Havisham.

Anon hot take: SK can't write the aristocracy/ financial upper class at all.
Either he doesn't care or he is purposefully satirical.
Churchill, May, Mosley, Mitford, Tatiana + the Russians aren't only caricatures but littered with mistakes.
Even how Tommy's staff act is blatantly wrong, like him calling his housekeeper by their first name? They would be OFFENDED by him reducing them to the same treatment as maids.
He doesn't have the faintest clue of how to write them and doesn't seem to care to research it and it's embarrassing
I don't thinks he's being satirical 😂 Mosley and Diana (i think that was the bitch's name in season six) were so BAD, that was laughable (but those are laughs on SK expense) and so cringeworthy. And there was so much idolatry with Churchill all the way back to season one, that it made me wonder if SK knew anything about the world and the negative influence the dude had on it 🤷🏾‍♀️
Now, i think Tatiana (just her character, not all the Russians) and Frances were meant to symbolize other things outside hierarchy. For example, Tatiana is supposed to show him what a man with his ambition should act and expect to be treated and Frances was supposed to show how he can't have that kind of strict boss/employee because he never stopped being a low class citizen. But maybe i'm wrong in my interpretation.
But in what way May acts out of what her character was supposed to be? I never caught up on that and i would love for you to explain it to me ☺
Send m an anon ask with your Peaky Blinders hot takes!
