As someone who’s old enough to not harass teen celebrities for fun, I’m genuinely glad that Aidan Gallagher isn’t as active on social media as before (knock on wood). I think he’s still posting regularly since he’s a zoomer but in 2019-2020 it was insane, like how did this 15-16 year old kid post like 50+ stories on his instagram every single day and interact with every fan theory he came across on twitter while also communicating with hundreds of fans on discord? no wonder his public image(??) kind of…… you know

It’s still a shame since he would’ve only heard nice things about himself and his work if he hadn’t been on any social media platform ever, but what can he do at this point other than act his ass off like he has been doing so far, right?

Genesis Rodriguez: It’s pretty great.

Tom: It’s great. Cause it’s such a— it’s so different to the Ben that we knew as the Umbrella so, I think it’s just such a great shift in the show. And it brings a whole new dynamic to, to— well also, to your, your— as an actor, as well, I think it was brilliant. You know, working with, with Justin this year was— it was so much fun. And uh, yeah, so I can’t wait for people to see it. It’s gonna, it’s gonna be good.

Felicia: Sloane Hargreeves on Twitter asks, David, how many knives do you think Diego owns?

David Castañeda: 17.

Emmy: Oh, hm.

Tom: Sparrows and Umbrellas?

Emmy: Yeah.

Tom: Both? All siblings?

Felicia: Oh yeah I think we could open it up, you could open to all people, yeah.

Emmy: Um, I mean I, I think I would probably say Lila, right? Because she’s a chameleon and she can take on any power. So you’re always gonna be matched by your equal if you go up against her which is pretty dangerous.

Felicia: Pretty great.

Emmy: Yeah.

Felicia: [unintelligible] on Instagram asks Aidan, do you think you would get along with your character this season?

Aidan: Uhh, I’m way too silly for Five. He would have none of me.

*Emmy laughs*

Felicia: As we just saw with the knife conversation. He would not put up with that.

Tom: I would love to see that, I would love to see that conversation.

Emmy: *laughs* Same!

Aidan: He'd wait for the coffee to arrive, he’d enjoy it, and then he’d calmly walk out. If I didn’t annoy him too much first and then, you know… I don’t think he’d like me.

*Emmy laughs*

Aidan: He’d be, he’d be curious like, who’s this guy who looks exactly like me? Are we twins who, this other one didn’t have powers and is just…? I don’t know.

Felicia: *laughs* Captain Caitlin on Twitter, for Justin, how does the Umbrella Academy respond to this very different Ben?

Justin: Oooo, they’re very conflicted because obviously he looks like their Ben but he acts very differently. And there are many looks shared throughout the show, uh, especially in the first few episodes, where they sort of see their Ben but it’s not who they think he is anymore.

Felicia: Yeah that must be hard as an actor, where you guys have worked for so many years together being one person, for you to remove yourself from them and be a completely different person.

Justin: Absolutely but on the flip side, as, as was pointed out, it was nice to finally look my fellow actors in the eyes for the first time.

Tom: Yeah, likewise, yeah.

Justin: It was, it was really nice.

Felicia: Liam on Twitter for Genesis asks, what is your favorite episode you filmed for next season?

Genesis: Ooooo, I can’t, I can’t—

Emmy: No spoilers!

Justin: No spoilers.

Genesis: See, I know, I can’t really say.

Undine's Child

Her watermark was creeping down her legs. Each day, another scale. She slathered lotion on, hoping to prevent the itch as it replaced skin. She showered daily, seeking the soothing sense of water.

Her dad had warned her. Going to college so far from saltwater might be a problem, but she'd dismissed it. Surely, she could spend a semester away from the ocean.

And she had, her first year. And her second. But her first scales had started showing up before Thanksgiving this year, hidden only by jeans to be washed away when she went home for Christmas. Now, April was around the corner, she had a month left of classes, and her scales would soon peak out of her workout capris.

They always started on the back of her thighs, hard to see, hard to scratch. Better than her hips, where waistbands would chafe, or other more obvious places. There was a lot of space on her thighs, and they were easy to hide, but they'd hit the back of her knees this morning and they'd continue down the back of her legs.

Spraying saltwater on them hadn't worked. Nor soaking in a salt bath. She needed the ocean, her legs needed the relief of her dad's home, but she needed to pass her classes. Needed her degree.

Give me five weeks, she prayed. Five weeks to hide what I am.

And then the summer to figure out how to deal with them for all of next year.

Aro Books For Aro Week

It's Aro week! I've read more ace books than aro books, but I did want to share a few.

1) Common Bonds. This is an anthology where each story features an aro characters - how cool is that? https://bookshop.org/books/common-bonds-a-speculative-aromantic-anthology/9781775312970

2) A Promise Broken by S.L. Dove Cooper. This is the first aro rep book that I read, so I'll always remember it just for that, but it's also a lovely tale about grief. I will say it's a very active read - the reader has to put together a few clues about the story because the narrator is mostly an unreliable child. https://dovelynnwriter.com/books/a-promise-broken/

1) The Lady's Guide to Petticoats and Piracy by Mackenzi Lee. Felicity is aro/ace and I love how up in your face her aceness is. A true integral part of the character. You know right away she'd rather pursue science than marriage & then whoops! She's tangled with pirates. While it's the second in a series, they're world series so there's no need to read book 1 to understand this one.
