Spider-man x Batfam Prompt's

Ok so lately I have seen a lot of "Spidy goes to gotham and gets adopted fics" probably cause of Dark Matter by mysterycyclone cause like, duh, that fic is a goddamn masterpiece. But I feel like a lot of them are sort of the same thing with diffrent fonts ans it feels a bit saturated. Not all of them...but most of them.

Am I saying that there needs to be less of these fics? Hell no! Keep writing them please. I just feel like there could be more variety is all.

I suggest maybe try one of these ideas out

1: Peter going straight to the Batfam or other heros (dosent always have to be Batfam) and they try to work together on how to get him home, while slowly realizing "omg, your life is terrible! We want to help you, we do, but maybe we shouldnt and try to give you a better life here. Then its just a moral delema on what to do as they get to know the spider child.

2: maybe another Spider-man is the one that goes to Hotham like Andrew or Toby. Insted of being sent home at the end of NWH, they where accidentally sent to the DCU. Or maybe one of the Spider verse characters or a cartoon version of the character. Dosent always need to be Toms Spider-man.

3: on that same note. Please give more love to What If...Zombies Peter. You guys have no Idea the amount of angst and "haha, my world ended and im fine" potental there is. And you can have the other surviving member also be there as they look for eachother (characters that "survived* (no one survived that episode) are Peter, King T'challa, Scott Lang+cape, and Ig Bruce Baner/Hulk, and Bucky Barnes since we never saw them get turned or eaten) just think about Spidey and the Batfam investigating a lab or sometbing and all of a sudden they find floating head Scott in a crate. Everyone if scared shitless while Peter is crying tires of joy as he moves to hug the floating head. Think about that and tell me Im not on to something here.

4: Have the fic start our like halfway through. Maybe skip him getting to Gotham and have him be there for a few months already or something. This will help with adding more crack fics.

5: Maybe have the fic be that Peter is there for a while, he knows everyone, they know him, they might or might not know the identitys but they trust eachother. And Peter has been looking for a way home and he finally finds it! But... he accidentally brings some of the Batfam with him. So now its the Batfams turn to learn to live in the MCU with help of Spidy and they finally understand so much about him, how he lived, and vigilanties he knows (team red!) As they learn the history and pubilc opinion or Spider-man and the world.

6: Just a react to fic. Yk, those fics where they're stuffed in a room and forced to watch something? Yeah. Have the Dark Matter cast stuffed in a room and watch some MCU clips. It dosent even have to be some magic forth wall bull shit if you dont like that. In chapter 44, Peter and co. are said to be going back to the cave, and Peter still have is suit. Canonically, Karen records everything. Maybe Peter ends up so tired he dosent even want to try to explain everything. So he just hooks up Karen to the computer and and has her show them everything from the suits recordings to security cameras and news reports, to the memes and videos spiderman fans have made.

7: have the Justice League get involed cause "Hes to bright to be one of yours Bruce!" And have him be a honorary member of the league of have them put him on Young Justice. Peter gets adopted by Batfam? Yes. Peter becomeing Bffs with the Young Justice kids and actually forming normal relationships with kids his age? Also yes.

Do I have more? Probably but Im too lazy for it rn

Pretty sure all of mine are going to be Steve/Bucky lol...not only because I've written most of my fics in that fandom by a long shot but also boy oh boy do I miss that huge, active fandom life from like 2014-2016.

Most Hits: just say you do, Steve/Bucky, T Steve just wanted a job. He wasn't expecting a marriage proposal. And he certainly wasn't expecting to accept. This one is my most popular fic by every metric in any fandom ever lol. It was the perfect storm of a big, super engaged fandom and all the tropes everyone loves: fake marriage, hurt/comfort, bed sharing, found family, a big oh feelings realization at the last minute, the whole nine yards.

Second Most Kudos: scandal, Steve/Bucky, G Two boys are caught "getting fresh" in the Captain America exhibit, and Steve has to make a statement to the press. He doesn't quite stick to Pepper's script. I think this was my first "big" fic that got popular and I have to admit it is...not my favorite. I don't dislike it! I just think some of the characterization is not as good as I'd like it to be.

Third Most Comments: a marvelous gift, Steve/Bucky, T Bucky Barnes has a curse: he has to obey any orders he receives. It gets more complicated when he becomes best friends with Steve Rogers--the prince who will one day be king. The Ella Enchanted fusion! This one was pretty fun. Bucky having Ella's curse fit really well with the Winter Soldier storyline.

Fourth Most Bookmarks: Bucky Barnes Defense Squad, Steve/Bucky, G Steve is astounded to find Bucky's gone down in history as a bad boy. He makes it his mission to fix it. Aka Steve is mad that people don't know Bucky was a nerdy square mama's boy and he wants everyone to know that YES Bucky was sexy but NO it's not because he was aloof and sullen and a bad boy!

Fifth Most Words: Milestones, Steve/Bucky, T Continuation of "Shyest"; all the important steps in life with two super-soldiers raising a kid. The sequel series of one-shots to my "Two Supersoldiers and a Toddler" fic. My first series to get popular. My kid fic despite saying I don't like kid fic. 😂

Fic with the Least Words: war was just a game, Steve/Bucky, T "Let's play soldiers," Steve said. Bucky didn't want to, but he'd play because Steve asked. Not my favorite and it's very weird. I think I must've been going through something when I wrote this lmao. But I also wanted to make myself write exactly 500 words, so mission accomplished.

Hi!!! I'll answer generally, but if you had a specific fic in mind, I wouldn't mind adding to it! From this ask meme

5: What is a piece of lore that didn't make it into a fic?

In Of Kings and Monsters, there was a lot of lore that didn't end up getting included! The fic was initially going to be much longer but I wanted to get the hot springs scene out for AU week. Maybe one day I'll go back and write the whole thing.

1) Bucky is chosen to find Sam because Steve, typically Sam's protection but currently hurt, bets his own life that Bucky will find Sam and bring him back if the king releases Bucky from prison. It's based on the bargain Proteus makes for Sinbad in the 2003 Sinbad movie.

2) Bucky is infected by the Hydra. He has to hide it from Sam. It gives him all the benefits of the serum but can turn him into a monster if it's triggered. There was going to be a scene where he turned into the monster in his prison cell and another where he drags himself away from Sam to protect him in the middle of the night. (Which then leads to a fight in the morning, because of course, miscommunication, assumptions, and letting yourself be hurt to protect someone else)

3) Speaking of Bucky being in prison, his treasonous act, brought on by the Hydra poisoning and using him, is actually the murder of another spy in the castle. The double edge to the act is why he is not immediately killed himself and why the king allows Steve to make the deal for Bucky.

4) There is a whole entire rationalization and logical explanation for why Sam is going to become king before his father dies. It has to do with the lack of wars, the fact that Sam isn't forced to marry, and the Wilson family magic. Sarah could have also taken the throne if she wanted. I literally rewrote the paragraphs explaining it all like seven times before just scrapping it.

5) The Hydra messes with the psyche. It induces nightmares, memory distortion, and phantom pain. It is blind but has acute heat sense, which is how it hunts.

Sebastian is so fucking good at any genre, damn! As silly as it was, that scene worked, it is funny. Like everything landed perfectly which is hard to do in comedy. I’m excited for the comedic spy movie!

YES. I couldn't agree more, he really is fucking incredible. He is the king of understated, he does flirty and romantic like no one else, he can do all-out dramatics and heart-wrenching tragedy AND he's got brilliant comedic timing! There's literally nothing this man can't do, I admire him so, so much 💗

And you're right, that scene was actually really funny, and Sebastian nailed the timing and expressions, so damn good. "That's motherfucking Bucky Barnes" is hilarious 😂 I can't wait for the spy movie either, it's going to be epic!!!!

I don't really do angst. Even my major character death fic had a happy ending with a reunion in the afterlife

Not directly. I don't think I've had anyone reply to a fic of mine with hate. People used to bitch about me and my writing on Livejournal back in the day (ah the Supernatural anon meme my most loathed), and someone in the Smallville fandom once accused me of plagiarism because I posted a fic with a vaguely similar theme to theirs (and everyone shut her down for being an idiot).

9. Do you write smut? If so, what kind?

I have done, but I don't think I'm very good at it so I tend not to bother anymore. Fade to black works just as well for my style of writing

10. Do you write crossovers? What's the craziest one you've written?

Oh, please let me talk to you about the crossover I co-wrote with a friend which was Lex Luthor from Smallville paired with a character named Rodney (also played by Michael Rosenbaum) from a short web series he did called Shear Love. Obviously I can't stop you from seeking it out but I will warn you it has dubcon and mpreg. It's the weirdest thing I have ever written and the fact that it's not my least kudosed fic still baffles me

11. Have you ever had a fic stolen?

There's an orphaned copy of one of my Supernatural RPF fics on AO3 so I guess whoever stole it abandoned it?

Yes! Someone translated one of my MCU fics into Chinese While Phil Was Sleeping

Yep in a bunch of different fandoms. I'm pretty sure me and @bambiesque wrote Buffy fic together, and I've co-written in Smallville, Supernatural and DMBJ

Don't make me choose one of my children. They are all special to me.

15. What's a wip you want to finish, but doubt you ever will?

My Untamed Hotel AU. Occasionally I think 'maybe' but that ship has sailed now I think

Dialogue, I think. If I could get away with just writing a script without having to describe scenery and what people are feeling I probably would

Although some are probably just Kiku projecting lol. ☺️ This especially true for any characters that don't speak in their source material (Link, the hero and the luminary, Frisk, ect) and Kiku also like to headcanon chracters as semi/nonverbal because there not a lot of representation (Julia from Sesame Street and Renee from Loop make Kiku so happy☺️).

Their host, who happens to be the King of Wakanda. Sure, Sam spent plenty of time in this country as an international fugitive, but he's never been formally invited to Royal Dinner before.

He stops hissing annoyed jibes through the side of his teeth and offers T'Challa his most winning smile.

"Everything's fine."

Bucky glowers. Like he's been doing for the last three hours. Sam wishes one of them had had the power of prophetic vision or something, so he didn't have to open his big fat mouth five minutes after the talon fighter got into the air and he was trapped with the most betrayed version of his best friend in a tin can in the air for a hundred minutes at a time.

T'Challa raises a single eyebrow. Sam aggressively nudges Bucky's unfortunately unyielding arm with his elbow and tries not to wince. 

Bucky says, "Fine," through the most obviously gritted teeth in the world.

"Hm," says the Queen Mother. Of literal, actual, Wakanda. Sam could be cranking up the charm right now, getting his flirt on, but no, he's having dinner with the giant White thundercloud hovering at his now-bruised arm. Vibranium and discrete elbow nudges do not mix, which Sam finds personally offensive. "How are the plantains, Captain Wilson?" asks Queen Ramonda. "Have you tried them? Chef Thebe is trying a new recipe, and I understand you know something about cooking."

"A little, yeah," says Sam, trying not to make it too obvious that he's rubbing his elbow.

"James?" prompts Queen Ramonda, pointedly.

"The plantains are obviously great," Bucky grits out, as brightly as a person possibly can when their whole face remains in a determinedly distraught position.

Sam pushes some food around on his plate. Ramonda tilts her chin and takes a long drink of wine from her glass. T’Challa, clearing his throat lightly, opens his mouth –

"A lot of things in life should be obvious," Sam says, before he can stop himself.

King T'Challa's other eyebrow joins the first, and Ramonda pauses with her fork halfway to her mouth. Sam regrets every decision he's ever made as Bucky's bottom jaw drops open like a real life version of that dumb Pokémon meme Sarah's kids love so much.

"Obvious? We’re talking about a betrayal of trust here, Samuel." 

“I was encouraging your hobbies! That’s a thing good friends do!”

“You just sat there, and watched me – we had multi-national video calls with that fucking thing in the background –”

"It was a joke, man!" Sam splutters. He figures spluttering is a perfectly acceptable response to this. "I thought you'd have figured it out in like ten minutes! How did you not figure it out in like ten minutes!"

"That’s not the point!" Bucky says, crossing his arms and looking miserable. "No way! Six months! Six months. You watched me mist that thing for six months --"

“Excuse me for imagining that the most dangerous assassin of the twentieth century would’a noticed the physical makeup of a gag gift his dumbass friend bought him. I thought you were playing along!”

“For six months?!” Bucky says, now red around the ears. “God I can’t believe you. I can’t believe –”

“It was a funny joke. It was a funny joke, okay? I thought we were both in on the joke! You’re acting like I killed your cat or somethin’ –”

“Who also watched me mist that plant for six months!” says Bucky, more aggrieved now than ever. He waves one hand in the air in a very New York-flavoured gesture of emphasis; T’Challa visibly chokes over a bite of his appetizer and has to bring a napkin up to his face to hide it – “She probably thinks I’m some kinda giant idiot now –”

Which is just unfair, and Sam wishes more than ever he hadn't said anything in the first place but Bucky'd been so clearly concerned that he was leaving his slow-growing windowsill collection of plants unattended for more than twenty-four hours --

“Gentleman,” says the King, recovering from his recent brush with near-asphyxiation; his voice is slightly strained, though Sam can’t say that isn’t from the poorly concealed amusement dancing in his eyes. “Perhaps you would like to desist from airing out any embarrassing personal stories in the minutes before Shuri arrives to dinner.”

Sam’s mouth snaps shut with an audible click and Bucky’s eyes widen comically in alarm.

Ramonda says,

“Fa, you are not serious, I know what this must be. Mahlubandile. Surely this is not about the little plastic house plant that sits on your window ledge in calls.”

"What?" Bucky chokes.

She turns with regal innocence to Sam. “I see it every so often when he has conferences with Shuri or the Dora. I did not realize it was a gift, Captain. The pot is quite beautiful.”

There is a long moment of stunned silence that is only broken by T’Challa, when he gives up all pretense and begins laughing properly into his lap, his napkin held between pinched fingers against his forehead. Sam brings a slow hand up to hold against the bridge of his nose. Bucky looks nothing short of poleaxed.

This all happens just in time for Shuri to flounce into the room, out of breath and skidding.

“Sorry I am late, uMama! What have I missed?”

“Nothing important,” says Ramonda severely. “But really, Shuri, to work this late when we have guests. Tcha. Sit, and behave. Now, Captain, you were telling me about the food in Louisiana. I am sure it is most flavourful …”

hello! welcome to my original character that’s been a couple years in the making either in short stories, imaginings in my head or a meager attempt here til i got the courage to really DO this. please read below for a tl;dr rundown of an introduction or bop over to my links for more a more in depth look at this guy! 

who this? seance alder is horror based with cross-overs welcome in any fandom that i’m familiar with. even most that i’m not. my main cross-overs would be marvel, the walking dead, far cry 5, and anything paranormal, ghost hunting, psychological horror or horror related. basically, toss me your ideas and let’s plot! as i dig in, i will flesh out his au’s that will include in depth marvel, twd and other verses. as for now, his default verse is set in moon/moon township (or pittsburgh), pennsylvania or nyc. but with his travels, he can be about anywhere your muse may be.

status: he is divorced (of which i am open to plotting exes with mutuals if you’re into that thing and we mix on ideas!) with no kids, bisexual and demiromantic. his age range goes from 35 to 46 and as such, any romantic partners should be 25+ with a preference for 30+. other relationships are open to plotting whether it be platonic, one night stands, etc. but heavy ships should be in those age ranges with no real limit on how much older the muse is than him. he’s open to that.

novelist: seance is a well known novelist in the horror genre. think clive barker and neil gaiman had a baby and stephen king got to be the babysitter. his stuff isn’t for the weak of heart and it’s pretty dark. he’s ventured into fantasy a few times. but it always leads back to horror with him. his series that he is most famous for revolves around a 1920s setting his hometown and carries the name of where it was ‘birthed’ under each heading. and if you want to learn more, write with me!

college: an alumni of johns hopkins university, he returns there often to lecture on writing and psychology. also taking the time to tour other universities as a guest speaker as well as appearing at writing and horror conventions when he has the time or interest. the latter is difficult at times seeing as how he can be quite a recluse when the mood hits him.

cross-overs: mcu (a very vocal critic in publication against the avengers once their damage began to cost human lives, he has published several articles that are widely known as some of the worst against the heroes to date. let him be your canon’s critic, let’s get some tension going!) twd (a member of alexandria, he has been there since the beginning and helped build and craft the town before it all fell. as the others began to splinter, seance went off on his own and is later seen outside the commonwealth, avoiding joining the city and sticking to his own means until he’s not given much of a choice) and more to come!
