part one
part two
He's not panicking.
Just because he knows Eddie had court at 9am and they had plans to talk at lunch, and it's now 7pm and he still hasn't called.
Nope, definitely not panicking.
He isn't pacing the apartment either. No, he's just taking a leisurely stroll back and forth across his living room. There's just nothing good on TV. He isn't panicking, there's no reason to panic.
He had texted him at 1 and, after getting no answer, again at 5. He picks his phone up where he'd thrown it not even five minutes ago face down on the couch. He swipes his way to his messages.
Nothing.
He clicks "💖Edwardo💖" and scrolls through their messages from the last couple days. He sighs and clicks the text box.
Hey, I'm gonna stay up until I hear from you, so call me whenever.
He sends it and throws the phone to the side, collapsing against the back of his sofa. He picks up his laptop, clicks on the video chat app, and stares at the stupid picture Eddie had chosen as his icon. The edge of his mouth lifts in spite of the sick churning in his stomach. "Eddie fucking Kaspbrak," he mumbles with a shake of his head. He's still looking at Eddie's picture when he starts to doze off.
He has no idea how much time has gone by when he's woken up by the sound of a call coming through his computer. His vision's blurry, he pushes his glasses back up on his face, and sees Eddie's smile way too close to the camera. He accepts the call. "What the fuck, man?"
"Richie!" Eddie cries. "Did I wake you? You said you were staying up."
Richie stretches and yawns before picking the laptop up and putting it on his coffee table. "Guess I fell asleep." He narrows his eyes. "Where are you?"
"Out! With Matt!"
Richie wants to ask who the hell Matt is but the camera is on the guy before he gets the chance.
"Look, Matt, it's my boyfriend," he hears Eddie say, "the guy I was telling you about!"
Richie has a moment of disconnect. "Uh," he says cleverly.
Matt leans closer. "Wait, holy shit, you really are Richie Tozier." He grins. "When Eddie said he was dating a celebrity, I didn't believe him."
"Fuck you!"
"Uh, hi?" Richie says. He's still reeling from 'boyfriend' and 'dating.' "Sorry, who are you again?"
Eddie turns the phone back, his face swims into view unsteadily. "My new manager! I hired him last week, he's gonna manage the New York branch when I leave."
"Okay, you're screaming."
"I'm celebrating!" he yells, raising a glass. He knocks it back and drains it to prove his point.
It's loud, Richie can hear the sounds of other people talking and laughing. He guesses they're in a bar. "Can you go outside or something? I can barely hear you."
Eddie's nodding as he gets to his feet. "Shit, yeah, sorry," he says when he swallows. "Matt, I'll be right back."
"Take your time, boss. Nice to meet you, Mr. Tozier!"
Richie makes a face. "Did he just call me Mister Tozier?"
Eddie laughs. He leans against the cool bricks of the building once he gets outside. "Yeah, he's like that."
"So," Richie starts after a beat, "how'd it go?"
"Oh! We found a place!"
"A place?"
"Yeah, an office building," Eddie replies excitedly. "Matt found it on the computer. And! He put up an ad for people to email me their resumes. It was so much easier than I was making it, big shocker there, right."
Richie tilts his head for a second. "That's fantastic, Eds, but what about court?"
"Oh, oh! Richie!" Eddie's smile splits his face. "She signed the papers! She dropped everything she was asking for, a share in the company, all the alimony. She told me on the way out it's because she's already engaged, and all I could think was 'that poor schmuck." He laughs, open and cheerful. Richie doesn't know if he's ever seen him so happy.
"Wow, that's awesome. Congratulations."
Something in his voice must give him away. Eddie's eyes soften and his smile fades. "Oh, Rich, I'm so sorry. I was supposed to call. I was just so excited to get everything done, we worked right through lunch. I'm booking a flight to LA tomorrow. Richie, we're going to he together before the end of the week." His eyes are so bright and happy, Richie wants to drown himself in them.
"That's- Wow, Eds, that's amazing." He pauses. "You're amazing." Eddie's eyes start to water and Richie figures he must be way drunker than he's letting on. "Wait, how are you video chatting from your phone?"
Eddie blinks. "Oh, there's an app for it."
"Yes, I know there's an app for it. How in the hell did you know there was an app for it? The only app you have on your phone is a calculator."
"Matt downloaded it for me. I saw your text and mentioned I needed to call you, so he showed me how to do it."
"That's great," Richie says flatly. "Matt's great."
"Yeah, he really is a whiz at the technology stuff."
"That's what happens when you hire a 20 year old."
"He's 25." He considers Richie a moment. "Wait, what was that?"
"What was what?"
Eddie eyes him. "That tone was hostile and, like, jealous. Are you-"
"I'm definitely not jealous."
Eddie's eyes widen. "You're lying! That's your lying face!"
"I have a lying face?" Richie asks, raising his eyebrows.
"You do, and you're making it right now. Why would you be jealous of Matt?"
"I'm not!" he protests. He sighs. "I dunno, man, it's just like, the most important day of your life and that's who you're celebrating with."
"Richie," Eddie says. His voice is gentle, like trying to coax a wild animal into a cage. It makes Richie want to punch a wall at how ridiculously easy it is for Eddie to turn him to mush. "I would rather celebrate with you than anyone in the world. But, baby, you're not here."
Richie's mind short circuits so hard over the word 'baby' that it takes him a full 30 seconds to process the rest of that sentence. He scoffs a laugh, completely humorless. "Yeah, and whose fault is that?"
Eddie's face crumbles and he looks down and away from the camera, like he's ashamed. Like Richie is embarrassing him.
He instantly feels like a jackass. "I'm sorry, Eds, I'm not trying to rain on your parade. I was just worried, when you didn't call."
"I said I was sorry. I got busy."
"I texted you three times," Richie replies. He feels like a petulant housewife who spent all day cooking a dinner that her husband never came home to eat. He guesses that's exactly how he sounds, too.
Eddie turns his sad eyes on Richie. "I didn't even look at my phone until like fifteen minutes ago. I called as soon as I saw them."
"I know, I know." He shakes his head. "'I'm sorry, 'm being a dick."
Eddie smirks. "Imagine that."
Richie breathes out his nose and wills himself not to be angry. Always understanding, never upset. Always with a joke but never with a complaint. How he's been all year, all his life with Eddie, if he's honest with himself. Never too emotional or serious, just in case it overwhelms. "I'll let you get back. Just let me know when you book your flight, I'll clean the guest room."
"The guest room?" Eddie's face falls. "I have to sleep in my own room? You're that mad that I forgot to call?"
"No, it's not- I just didn't want to assume-"
"Or is it because I'm out with Matt?" Eddie continues like Richie hadn't even spoken. "Because I barely even know him, Rich. I was just in a good mood and we both needed to eat. It doesn't- I don't know if he's even gay."
Richie feels green. "He's cute," he says neutrally. "He's there. You're drunk."
"Richie."
He shakes his head, rubs his palms against the denim on his knees. "I know, I know. I'm being stupid because I miss you and I missed today and I- I'm sorry."
Eddie eyes go big and wistful. "I would never- Rich, I've spent the entire time since I've met him waxing poetic about you. Besides business shit, you're the only thing we've talked about. He's probably getting sick of it, honestly."
The sudden leap of his stomach makes him want to puke. "It's okay, Eds, you don't have to-"
"Richie," Eddie cuts him off. He pulls the phone closer to his face. "Richie, I'm crazy about you. You know, sometimes-" He laughs, blushes, glances away for a second. Richie wants to look at him forever. "Somtimes after we hang up, I jerk off to the memory of the sound of your voice. It's kind of pathetic. I'm completely gone on you, is the point I'm making."
"I-" he stops himself. He'd sworn at least a hundred times over the passed year that he wasn't going to say it until Eddie is in front of him. And he's going to keep that promise. "You're- you're everything, sweetheart. I- You know how I feel about you, don't you, Eddie?"
Eddie's smile is blinding. "Yeah, I think you waiting on me for almost a year while I got my shit together is a pretty big clue."
Richie grins back.
"I have to go settle the tab," Eddie says after a moment.
"You could call me," Richie tells him, "when you get back to your room. Jerk off to my actual voice, instead of the memory. I could say something worth jerking off to."
Pink rises on Eddie's cheekbones and flushes down onto his neck, right where Richie wants to bite him. "Thanks, now I have to go back in there at half mast."
"Oh, you are so very welcome. No need to thank me. The pleasure's all mine, really." The sad thing is, he isn't lying. Nothing gets him going faster than the mere idea that Eddie wants him. The evidence of it, the confession, has him rock hard in his pants already.
"You're insufferable."
"Insatiable, Edward. The word is insatiable."
Eddie rolls his eyes with a chuckle. "I'm going to call you in 45 minutes," he promises.
Richie nods. "I'll have my script ready. The never ending list of things I'd do to corrupt the pure and innocent Eddie Kaspbrak."
"Insufferable!" He pauses, still smiling even though he's griping. "45 minutes."
"I'll be here, Eds." He flushes with the honesty of it. "I'll always be here."

summary:  Eddie has a bad day and Richie does his best to cheer him up.
check out my ao3
It’s just Richie’s front door.
But no amount of convincing worked for Eddie’s mind as the sight of it warped into the small door in the sewer...With the grotesque face of the leper staring back at him. As he stared at the Tozier’s oak door he swore he saw a thick trickle of blood seep from the threshold and hear the sound of sickly, rasping breath from inside the hollow door. Just a few more moments and he’d be face to face with It..
It’s dark out, he told himself. That’s why I’m seeing things. But I’m here, Richie’s here. I’m safe. No need to be scared.
But that didn’t stop the nightmares that assailed him all night long—ever since they defeated It—keeping Eddie wide awake and strangled in worry for what could be lurking in the murky blackness outside. Eddie’s mother had caught on to his insomnia since the first week, making him take all sorts of supplements and medicine claiming to be a “sleep aid.” They did nothing to keep the images at bay. The noises. He only slept well on nights when Richie snuck over, or when Eddie drove to his house.
Richie could never know.
Eddie shook his head and knocked again. His eyes searched the window with its drawn curtains. I did tell him I’m coming, right?
But then the lock swung back and the door opened, showing the face that soothed all his worries. Richie grabbed Eddie’s arm and brought him in for a hug. He was suddenly pulled into Richie’s open chest and the familiar stink of cigarettes and black tea consumed him. It was a bold and comforting smell, one that Eddie loved. It made his nerves settle and for Eddie was unmistakably Richie Tozier.
“You look like shit, Eds,” Richie held him tightly, “On the phone you said it was a bad day, right?”
Eddie nodded against his shirt and they pulled away. I’m not entirely wrong. It was a bad day. He just doesn’t need to know exactly why. And that was the great thing about Richie: he didn’t need an explanation. He was more than happy to let his boyfriend curl up in his arms, his face still burning from fearful tears while Richie whispered little jokes or Voices in his ear until Eddie wiped his eyes and laughed. Most of the time they weren’t even funny.
“That’s alright, Eds. I’ll fix us some dinner, yeah?”
“You can cook?” Eddie followed Richie into the kitchen and sat on an island chair.
Richie pouted at him, his lower lip sticking out. “Don’t be hateful, sweetheart. Of course the Trashmouth can cook.”
“What’s on the menu then, Chef Tozier?”
“You’ll see.” Richie laughed and rummaged through the pantry.
Eddie glanced around the empty kitchen, not a single sound filled the house—except of course for Richie banging around looking for a stove pot.
“No parents?"
"Nope. My folks are out of town for the weekend, some family thing.” Richie said, dismissing the idea with a wave of his hand.
“And they left you alone?” Eddie asked, unable to help the smile that drifted into his voice.
“I’m seventeen. I don’t need constant supervision.” Richie growled.
Eddie pointed to him. “Yet you were about to pour marinara sauce into a pasta strainer.”
“Okay, scratch that. I’ll always need you, Eddie my love...Plus I promised them I wouldn’t burn the house down.”
“What on Earth are you doing with all that?” Eddie caught sight of two boxes of macaroni, lettuce, and red sauce.
He tried to stifle his giggling, but it was useless. “Rich, are you trying to make spaghetti?”
“Maybe.” He replied defiantly with an embarrassed blush.
“With iceberg lettuce?”
Richie inspected his ingredients again with his eyebrows raised, his eyes looked more doubtful now from beneath his glasses. “..That’s a thing, right?”
Eddie sighed and joined him at the counter. “You’re hopeless, Richie. Give me that ladle,” He loosely gestured to the wooden spoon next to him while putting back the lettuce.
“This is the wrong type of noodle.” Eddie held up the box of pasta while the marinara sauce simmered on the stove—the one thing Richie had done correctly.
Richie snorted and put his hands on his hips. “Not everything can be perfect like you.”
Eddie rolled his eyes and let Richie’s arms snake around his waist. “Okay, fine. Macaroni it is.”
He waddled over to the sink—with Richie still attached from behind—to pour water into the pot. As he let the faucet run Richie bent down and kissed his bare neck softly, his glasses poking into his skin.
Eddie stiffened. “What was that for?”
“For helping me with dinner. For being cute. Why, can’t I kiss you just because?”
“Of course you can. You’re just..distracting.”
“Oh? You mean like this?” Richie laughed and placed a trail of teasing kisses up his neck, making Eddie grip the handles of the pot tighter while he fought to breathe. He knows just where to kiss me.
“Am I distracting you now?” His mouth rested just above the space between Eddie’s jaw and earlobe, his warm lips and breath tickling him. One of Richie’s hands drifted down toward his pants and Eddie stepped on his bare foot.
“Cut it out Richie,” Eddie gasped. He realized in his daze that the pot of water was about to overflow and quickly shut it off. He carried it to the stove and set it to boil, then poured in the macaroni noodles.
He turned to him. “You’re gonna give me a heart attack one of these days.”
Richie returned his hands to his sides and smirked. “Awe, shucks. To think I have that effect on people.”
“Only me, dipshit.”
“And that’s just fine,” Richie pecked his cheek and hugged him again.
“Feeling any better, Eds?”
“After some dinner I will be.” Eddie replied while wrestling out of the bear hug to set two plates on the tile counter. Richie drained the pasta and Eddie turned off the burners.
“Like mother, like son.” Richie said philosophically at the sink.
“Be quiet,” Eddie gave his chest a playful shove and handed him the food. They sat at the table on opposite sides, and just as he was about to eat Richie stuck his fork at him.
“What are you doing?”
“Letting you try some!” Richie pushed the fork further towards Eddie’s mouth.
“I have some right here,” He gestured to his own full plate, “And you’ve been eating off that already.”
Before he could pull his fork away a few stray pieces of macaroni slipped off the fork and fell across Eddie’s shirt, staining the front with oily red sauce. Richie’s eyes widened, and he drew the fork back guiltily.
“Gross!”
“Oh, shit. Sorry Eddie! I’ll go get one of mine!” He hopped off the chair and dashed up the stairs. Eddie took the chance to eat some of the “spaghetti” before Richie returned with a fresh shirt.
“I am not wearing that,” Eddie said firmly, picking the noodles off his lap and into his empty plate.
“Just take that off and put on mine. It’s mostly clean, don’t worry. I’ll wash yours.” Richie held his shirt out to him, waiting with closed eyes for the dirty one. Eddie diverted his eyes and pulled his shirt up over his head. He threw Richie’s on hurriedly, his face was red the whole time. God, it smells just like him.
“Okay, you’re good.” Eddie told him and he opened his eyes. Richie examined him wearing his own clothes then flashed a grin.
“Why do my clothes look better on you? And the Cutie Award goes to..”
Eddie thrust the stained shirt at him. “My ass.”
“He’s not wrong, folks!” Richie shouted into the empty hallway as he went back upstairs to the laundry room.
“You want me to clean this up?” Eddie called. Richie had left a trail of dirty dishes and stray pasta noodles in his wake as they had cooked, not caring to pick up.
“Just come up here! We’ll do it later.” came his reply. By “later,” Eddie knew he meant “tomorrow.”
Eddie headed up the stairs and sat on Richie’s bed, waiting for him. Even without him there—just for a few seconds—the thoughts came racing back, like a flip of a switch, no matter if things were happy and easygoing minutes before.
He was no longer in Richie’s room. He was on the burning asphalt with a broken arm, he was running through the yard of the Neibolt house, desperate and out of breath. He was staring directly in the face of Henry Bowers, his entire arm engulfed in flames as searing as a hot iron with Patrick’s spit stuck in his eyes. He was reliving every memory.
“...Eds? What is it? What happened?” Richie appeared in the doorway but Eddie could hardly see him through the haze; he only heard his footsteps thundering in his head as he came to his side, taking his face and forcing him to look into his chocolate brown eyes.
“Eddie? Talk to me, please,” Richie was pleading, sitting down next to Eddie and keeping his hands placed firmly on his shoulders, helping to relieve his staggered breathing.
“It hurts,” Eddie said weakly but his words got choked up in a fresh wave of tears.
“Where, baby? Where does it hurt?” He searched his face and scanned his body frantically.
“God, Richie. My head..the memories, it hurts so much. They never went away,” He cried, truly feeling every ounce of that childhood pain. Richie grabbed his sides and pulled him into his lap, his face set into a hard, serious frown that left Eddie startled.
He’s always been there for me.
“N-no,” Eddie tried moving away, “I’ve been crying..It’s gross, Rich. Let me go wash my face or something.” He sniffed loudly.
“Shhh,” Richie shook his head and held him more fiercely, Eddie could feel the beating of their hearts together against his chest. He closed his eyes and counted each rhythmic thump of Richie’s heartbeat until he could breathe again.
He brought his face to Eddie’s cheek, wet with tears, and kissed him.
“Let me make it better,” Richie whispered. He moved his lips to tenderly kiss every spot on Eddie’s face: each tear, his pink nose, his eyelids.
“It’s gone, we killed It, everything’s alright now,” He kept his lips pressed to Eddie’s temple, and as he did the ache there subsided, “You’re safe with me, Eds.”
Eddie let out a shaky laugh. “You’re such a sap, Richie.”
“Only for you.”
They sat in silence for a few minutes with Richie running his hands through Eddie’s hair. He loved when Richie did this, when his gentle fingers sent shivers down his spine. His comforting touch made different tears slide down Eddie’s face.
“Is it still there? Did the nightmares go away?” Richie asked with another twinge of concern when he felt Eddie crying quietly again into his shoulder.
Eddie tucked his face into the crook of his neck to hide the embarrassment and mumbled, “No, they w-went away.”
“What’s wrong? Why are you still crying, Eddie?” Richie leaned against the headboard so he could see the smaller boy’s face and he cradled the back of his hair.
“I’ve never had someone be so..kind to me before. Not like this. No one would ever do the things you’re always doing for me. I-I don’t think I deserve it.”
Richie lifted Eddie’s legs up higher so he was more comfortable and the smaller boy snuggled in. He spoke with his chin resting on top of his head, “I know I’m kind of an ass most of the time, but I don’t mean to be. I’m always looking out for you Eds, even when you think I’m not...It’s cause I love you.”
Those three words silenced everything and left Eddie blissfully calm—despite his frantic heart.
He loves me?
Eddie questioned it as soon as he said it, but after thinking it over he knew Richie wasn’t lying.
Who else would clean me up after a panic attack, or wake me from a nightmare, even if I was covered in sweat and tears and who knows what else? Who else would hold me the rest of the night, even if it meant he didn’t sleep?
“I love you too,” Eddie said against his neck. And then, after a thoughtful pause,
“But don’t call me Eds.”

Eddie Kaspbrak was running short on both money and patience. He was only just over a month into his second year of nursing school, and he was already struggling to pay his rent. And sure, rent in New York City was never easy to pay, but he’d been saving, he’d had a plan. The problem was that pretty much all of his money had unexpectedly gone toward his tuition when his mother had refused to pay for a second year at school.
At eighteen, Eddie had left his small hometown in Maine and moved to New York City to start college. He had just barely convinced his mother to let him go, and to help with his tuition as long as he covered his own rent. He was required to call her four nights a week, and he had to go back on the “medicines” he’d disavowed around age fifteen (all of which he routinely flushed down the toilet), but the physical distance had been amazing—at first. Soon, though, it wasn’t enough, and his mom started demanding he call her every night, accusing him of being reckless and taking advantage of her. When he’d told her he wasn’t coming home for the summer, she’d exploded into hysterics, crying and telling him he had to come home. It was when she began rambling on about how Eddie was probably running around with dirty New York City girls and catching all sorts of horrific sexual diseases, demanding that he come home so that she could keep an eye on him and find him a nice girl when she decided he was ready for one, that Eddie had snapped. Though it had been the result of years of pent up frustration and rage, he had stayed calm as he told her that he wasn’t missing her calls because of girls, but because of guys—because he spent his weekends getting fucked by men. “Sorry Ma,” he’d said, his voice cool as steel and even as could be, “but I can’t really pick up the phone when I’ve got some guy’s cock inside of me.” It wasn’t exactly the coming out his friends Bill, Ben, and Mike had been gently running by him, but he was angry, and it had felt good; he figured she’d have had the same reaction no matter how he said it, so what the hell, right?
Still, it stung when she’d told him she wasn’t paying for his college anymore. He hadn’t really believed her at first, as she was still hounding him about his sins and how he needed to come home, but sure enough, when emails about tuition began rolling around, they all went to his school email and explained that his name was the only one on his account, that his mother had bestowed the loans onto him and given up the account. Eddie nearly vomited when he’d received that email. As soon as the room stopped spinning, he blocked his mother’s number.
He already had a job for the summer tied down, but it was just an internship level position filing in a medical office, and it was only four days a week; there was no way it would cover tuition and rent and food, among other expenses. So he was forced to take on a second job as a waiter at a new restaurant a few blocks away from his apartment, then a third job working at a mechanic shop on Fridays and Saturdays. On top of all of that work, he had to completely redo his FAFSA and reapply for loans given his new financial circumstances. His school and the government did give him a bit more, but not enough to drop any of his jobs.
By the time classes rolled around, he had paid his tuition for the semester, but he’d had to dip into money he’d been saving for rent. Now, in early October, he was still working Fridays and Saturdays at the garage and was waiting tables Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays, and Saturdays. He had a night shift shadowing a nurse on Tuesdays, which left Thursdays and Sundays as his only free nights, nights which he largely spent doing homework. All of this work, and he had still been eating Cup Noodles for the past two weeks.
It was a Friday night, and everything had been going wrong. In the middle of his shift at the garage, he’d gotten a notification from his school’s site informing him that he’d gotten a C on his most recent test, one he’d lost sleep over studying. Then work at the garage had run over and he barely had time to eat dinner before making it to the restaurant in time. He was tired and upset and feeling badly about himself, not to mention missing a party all of his friends were going to, so all it took was one baby boomer yelling at him over a mixed up order for him to excuse himself to the back room and start bawling. Thankfully, his manager seemed to be understanding and let him cool off. “I’ll take that table until they leave,” she told him, to his immense relief and gratitude. By the time she came back to check on him he had calmed down considerably and was staring into the mirror in the break room trying fruitlessly to pat down the puffiness around his eyes, trying to will away the redness that lingered. “Hey,” his manager said, “you wanna take table four?” Eddie sighed and nodded, trying out a smile. “Atta boy.”
He took a deep, steadying breath before heading out for his new table. His eyes fell on a table of three: a woman with dark red curls that fell to her shoulders, a man with truly impeccable posture, and the hottest man Eddie had ever seen in his life. And he was unabashedly looking Eddie up and down from behind a pair of thick rimmed glasses as he approached. “Hi!” Eddie greeted them, his big, bright customer service smile finding its way onto his face like it was possessing him. “I’m Eddie, and I’ll be your server tonight. Can I get you guys started with some drinks?”
“You got me started already,” the hot guy said. Then, meeting Eddie’s eyes, his brow furrowed. “Have you been crying?”
Luckily, Eddie didn’t have to respond to that, as the guy’s much more refined friend chimed in, “I’ll have a gin and tonic, please,” just as the redheaded woman was letting out an exasperated, “Richie, oh my god.”
“One gin and tonic,” Eddie smiled, his cheeks burning. “Anything else?”
“Could I have a martini, please?” the woman smiled kindly up at him.
“Martini, got it.” As he jotted it down, he prepared himself to face the hot guy—Richie, apparently. When he did, he was struck by the depth of his blue eyes. He was surprised by how warm they were, and they glittered as he smiled up at Eddie. “And for you?”
“What do you like?”
“Oh, I’m not old enough to drink,” Eddie flushed, letting out a small laugh. With a joking smile, he added, “The Shirley Temples are great, though.”
Richie laughed, his eyes never leaving Eddie. “A Shirley Temple it is.”
Eddie’s gaze didn’t waver either, and he put on his best innocent, big-brown-eyes look as he asked, “Virgin or dirty?” He had to fight back a smirk when he saw Richie’s eyes darken.
“Dirty.” The way he said it sent a thrill down Eddie’s spine. “Pretty please, with three cherries on top.”
“You got it,” Eddie said with a wink. Though the day was still weighing on him, he was beginning to feel better already. He might have even swayed his hips a little more than necessary as he walked away. He told himself it was because he could tell this Richie guy was into him, so he was aiming for a nice tip, but really Eddie loved the attention itself. With his schedule, he no longer had time for the hookups he spent his freshman year indulging in. So he couldn’t be blamed for preening under the attention of a hot older guy. Honestly, it was the pick me up he’d been needing for months.
The night went on, all three of them being incredibly kind to him, with Richie throwing in not at all subtle flirtations any chance he got. Eddie didn’t miss the three knotted cherry stems on Richie’s napkin when he brought their food and offered to refill their drinks.
He was almost sad to see Richie go, but he was grateful for the small smile he had on his face as he went to collect his tip and clear the table. At first he went to simply slip the cash into his pocket, but then he realized there was a note on the napkin beneath it: a name, Richie Tozier, with a phone number under it. It was then that Eddie realized he was holding five hundred dollars in his hand. He quickly stuffed it in his pocket, an embarrassed flush running from his ears down his chest as he hurried to clear the dirty dishes and bring them back to the kitchen.
The cash burned a hole in his pocket all night, all the way home. What the fuck? he thought to himself. Because seriously, who leaves a five hundred dollar tip on a meal that was barely over a hundred? Eddie locked his apartment door and placed the money on his dresser, staring at it. Five one hundred dollar bills. Who carried that around? What if they were counterfeit? Eddie pulled out the napkin and studied that as well, deciding to Google the name Richie Tozier. His jaw dropped when he did. There his face was, with his big glasses, cocky smile, and fluffy, dark curls. Apparently the guy was on SNL and had two Netflix comedy specials. He was also twenty-eight, nearly ten years older than Eddie. His net worth? Five million dollars.
Eddie sat down on his bed, his mind spinning. The place Eddie worked was nice enough, but it wasn’t exactly frequented by millionaires. Still in his work clothes, he dialed the number, figuring there was no way it would go through.
He picked up on the third ring.
“Hello?”
It was his voice. “What the fuck?” Eddie blurted out.
He heard a bright laugh on the other end. “Is this Eddie?”
“Yeah, it is, and seriously, what the hell? Five hundred dollars?”
“You looked upset,” Richie said. He sounded like he was trying to be nonchalant about it, but his voice had softened noticeably.
“So you gave a stranger five hundred dollars?” Eddie was honestly more confused than upset. Sure, maybe his pride was a little bruised, but to be honest he was touched. And kind of turned on.
“Just redistributing my wealth,” Richie joked. “I’ve got more than I know what to do with, so I figured giving it to a pretty boy who was having a bad day was a pretty good way to spend it.” Eddie flushed at that—pretty boy. The way Richie said it, so casually, yet with a joking tone that made it almost teasing, had Eddie’s pants getting tight. When Eddie stayed silent, Richie continued, “There’s more for you where that came from, if you’re interested.”
“What?” Eddie said, blood rushing in his ears. Was this guy serious? Was this actually happening?
“I’d be happy to help you out if you need it. A college kid like you should be partying on a Saturday night, or taking a fucking nap, not crying at a minimum wage job.”
“Like a sugar daddy?”
Richie laughed. Eddie loved the sound of it. “Yeah, like a sugar daddy, baby.” The pet name made Eddie shudder, made him feel like he was glowing. But still, he didn’t want this guy getting ideas.
“I’m not gonna have sex with you.” Even as he said it, his cock was hard, and the memory of the way Richie had been flirting with him made his skin hot. But he wanted to make explicitly clear that he wasn’t into selling himself.
“That’s not why I’m offering. Seriously, I just wanna help you out. And sure, maybe you’re ridiculously cute, and maybe I want to get to know you, but mostly I wanna help you out. Pay for your rent, give you time to study and party and be a college student.”
And how could Eddie turn that down? As much as he was struggling with it, with his pride and the stranger danger anxiety that his mother had ingrained in him, he seriously doubted that a hot millionaire would come around again offering to pay his rent.
So Eddie agreed, and soon he was sending Richie his Venmo information. Two minutes later his phone screen glowed with a notification: Richie Tozier sent you $2,000.
It had been hard to get used to at first, but cutting his work schedule down to just Monday and Wednesday nights at the restaurant and just Friday afternoons at the garage felt amazing. He finally felt rested, could finally give his schoolwork the attention it needed.
“You know, you really don’t need to work at all if you don’t want to,” Richie told him one night when they were having dinner together.
“I know,” Eddie said to his food, “but I like the independence of it. And working with cars calms me down, it makes sense to me.” He didn’t mention the real reason he kept both jobs: the big Just In Case that loomed over him. This seemed like a fairy tale situation, like an extended, intricate prank, and he was terrified that something would go wrong. He wanted to be prepared if Richie suddenly pulled out for some reason.
However, as the months passed it became pretty clear that even without sex Richie wasn’t going anywhere. And that started complicating things.
It was late in December, which meant finals and holidays, which meant lots of stress. It was the first Christmas Eddie wouldn’t be spending at home, and that made him feel sad in a way he didn’t understand; he was incredibly happy to be free of his mother, but there was something so final about it. He supposed it was still a loss, even if it was a welcome one. On top of that, his days were plagued by the anxiety that she might get a new number, might start calling him again, might show up at his door and whisk him back to Maine. So it was just negativity on top of worrying on top of sadness. Under all this stress, he found himself spending more and more time at Richie’s apartment, more and more time talking to Richie, wanting to get close to him.
So far, things had been pretty professional. They got meals together once or twice a week, often in Richie’s apartment due to fans of his popping up everywhere wanting pictures. Mostly they hung out because Eddie liked it; Richie was always reminding Eddie that he didn’t owe Richie anything, but Eddie genuinely liked his company.
Also, he was still ridiculously hot, and he fawned over Eddie like he was the one getting paid.
Seriously, Richie was so amazing to him, it wasn’t just the money. When someone at work pissed him off, Richie put on one of Eddie’s favorite shows and offered to hire some people to beat up whatever asshole customer had yelled at him. When Eddie complained that the construction outside his apartment was affecting his studying, Richie let him study in his apartment, and even brought him hot chocolate and rubbed his shoulders.
Now it was a Thursday, and Eddie had finished his last final. He had just gotten home from saying goodbye to Bill, Mike, and Ben for winter break when Richie called. Like always, the loneliness that was threatening to creep over him began to ebb as soon as he heard Richie’s voice. “Hey! How’d your test go? We still on for dinner to celebrate?”
Eddie appreciated the offer, but a fancy dinner wasn’t what he wanted just then. “Can we do dinner at your place tonight?” he asked, his voice worn and small.
“Of course, anything you want.”
Richie’s driver picked Eddie up, so he didn’t actually see Richie until he was knocking at his door and falling into his arms. Richie, with his roughly nine or ten inch height advantage over Eddie, easily scooped him up and brought him to the couch. “So would it be tone deaf of me to ask how the exam went?” Richie grinned, settling down with Eddie resting against him. Eddie tucked his feet under his legs as he leaned into Richie’s embrace, finding the relief he’d been needing all day once Richie’s arms were around him.
“The exam went okay,” he sighed. “But Bill, Ben, and Mike all went home today, and I won’t see them for like a month.”
Richie shifted so he was leaning against the arm of the couch, facing Eddie. Eddie naturally moved closer, like a magnet was pulling him toward Richie, and he ended up practically in Richie’s lap. He let out a small, happy sigh as Richie stroked his hair. “I could send you on a trip somewhere, take your mind off of it.”
But it wasn’t just the location that was the problem. Sure, he wanted something to do, but mostly he wanted someone to do things with. A specific someone, if he was being honest with himself.
Eddie looked down and ran his hand lightly over the stitching on the pocket of Richie’s button up. It was covered in a Pac-Man pattern, but Eddie knew it was more formal than his normal look. The idea that Richie had dressed up somewhat for dinner with him made him smile. And it should have calmed him down as he prepared to ask Richie his next question, but his heart was still racing as he took a deep breath and looked up into Richie’s eyes. “Will you come with me?”
Richie’s eyes widened just barely before a smile broke across his face. “You thought I’d miss out on buying you souvenirs?”
Eddie beamed. Richie looked so beautiful when he smiled, and his hand was a comforting weight on Eddie’s hip. The thought of travelling with Richie, of sharing a hotel room with him—sharing a bed with him—made Eddie glow. “Did you have any destination in mind?” he asked.
“Anywhere you want.”
Richie’s voice was soft and low, Eddie felt like he could melt into it. He ran his hand up Richie’s chest, cupped his cheek, and watched Richie’s eyes dart over Eddie’s face, clearly trying to get a read on the situation. Eddie had been thinking about crossing this line for a while. He’d been holding back for months, and as the months moved by, his hang ups had begun to feel less and less important. Sure, the money made things different. But, did it have to? Did it really? Richie was here. Richie was holding him without expectation. As Eddie watched Richie lick his lips, as he felt Richie’s hands on him, he couldn’t remember a single reason he’d come up with to not dive headfirst into what they both so clearly wanted, what they had both wanted since the moment their eyes met for the first time.
So he leaned in, the tension that had been building for months coming to a head and taking his breath away. But just as their lips were about to come together, Richie murmured a soft, reserved, “Eddie.” Eddie’s heart caught at his tone, and he pulled back a bit, trying to figure out what was going wrong. “You know you don’t have to do that.”
“I want to do it,” Eddie huffed. He was pouting now, and moving to straddle Richie’s hips. “I want you, so bad. I’ve wanted you ever since I met you.” He took Richie’s hand in his and kissed his knuckles. “No one’s ever treated me as well as you do. The way you take care of me, the way you look at me... I’ve never wanted someone this bad before.”
Richie studied Eddie’s face, his eyes softening, darkening. He unfurled his fist and held Eddie’s jaw in his hand, ran his thumb over Eddie’s lower lip. “Fuck, you deserve the world, angel.” Eddie flushed at that. His heart was racing at the light, teasing way Richie pressed down on his lip. Just as he was about to wrap his lips around Richie’s thumb, Richie slid his hand into Eddie’s hair, holding it noticeably tighter than he normally would. “Tell me what you want, baby.” His voice was low and rough in a way that made Eddie wish he would just bend him over and fuck him senseless already.
But Eddie didn’t mind being coy, didn’t mind pulling the tension as tight as it would go, seeing how much he could tease before Richie snapped and took him the way Eddie wanted him to. “I want you to kiss me.” His nose was bumping against Richie’s now, and he could feel Richie’s shallow breath on his lips. Richie’s eyes were dark and didn’t move from Eddie’s face. Eddie took Richie’s hand and guided it from his waist to his hip, just barely on his ass. Biting his lip, he whispered, “I want you to fuck me, so bad.” He put on a pout and continued, “I fuck all these college guys, but none of them are you. They aren’t as tall as you, their hands aren’t as big as yours.” Eddie watched Richie’s jaw clench. “They can’t fuck me the way I know you could.”
“Fuck, baby,” Richie nearly growled. Eddie gasped when Richie grabbed his ass, hard, and tugged his head back. “Did you think about me while they fucked you?” he whispered in Eddie’s ear, his warm breath sending a shiver through Eddie.
“Every time,” Eddie said, gripping Richie’s shirt in his hands. “Wanted it to be you so bad.”
Richie nuzzled against Eddie’s neck, still not kissing him, still making him wait while he groped his ass. “I know, baby. You needed more, huh? You need your daddy to take care of you.”
Eddie let out a surprised little noise of pleasure. No one had ever said that to him before. He wasn’t expecting it, and he certainly wasn’t expecting how much he would like it. It made him so hard he got dizzy, completely pliant in Richie’s arms. “Yes,” he breathed, already pathetically desperate. “Yes, daddy, need you so bad, please, please.”
Richie cursed under his breath and grabbed Eddie by the jaw, pulling him in for a bruising kiss. Eddie couldn’t help but let out a little whimpering moan when he finally, finally felt Richie’s lips against his. They were just as soft as they looked, and so full. As Eddie sank his fingers into Richie’s thick, dark curls, Richie sat up a bit and pulled Eddie closer against him, grabbing him by the hips and pressing their clothed cocks together. Eddie gasped and buried his face in Richie’s shoulder at the feeling. He mouthed at Richie’s neck, moaning at the way Richie smacked his ass. “This is mine, got it?” he said, his voice smooth and low. “None of those little college pricks are allowed to fucking touch you. Understand?”
Eddie moaned at Richie’s sudden possessiveness. All he wanted was to be Richie’s, for Richie to claim him and show him who he belonged to. “Yes, daddy. ‘M all yours, just wanna be yours.”
“Good boy.” He tugged at Eddie’s hair again, pulling his head back so that his neck was exposed. Eddie yelped as Richie licked a stripe up his throat and sunk his teeth into Eddie’s throat, sure to leave a dark bruise. Eddie squirmed in Richie’s lap as he sucked on his neck, hard and intentional. With a final kiss to the bruise, Richie said with a satisfied grin, “Now everyone’s gonna know you’re mine.” He chuckled and nipped at Eddie’s neck again when Eddie moaned. “Yeah, you like that baby? You like when daddy takes what’s his? You want everyone to know what a good little slut you are for your daddy?”
“Yes,” Eddie sighed, already starting to feel like he was floating. After finals and classes and work and months of controlling himself around Richie, this was exactly what he needed. It felt so amazing to just let go and let Richie take control, knowing Richie would take care of him. He couldn’t believe how good this was and none of their clothes had even come off yet. He fumbled with the buttons on Richie’s shirt, but Richie just chuckled and grabbed him by the wrists.
“That’s cute, baby. Daddy decides whose clothes come off and when, yeah?” Eddie whimpered and nodded. Richie slid his hands back under Eddie’s ass and stood then, lifting Eddie up. Eddie instinctively held tight to him, wrapping his legs around Richie’s waist and his arms around his neck. Richie kissed Eddie’s hair as he walked them to the bedroom. “Just let me take care of you, sweetheart.” Eddie’s heart soared as Richie sat him down on the edge of the huge bed, the duvet soft and cool under him. His legs dangled off the side. Richie’s eyes softened as he stroked Eddie’s hair. “You doing okay?” he checked.
“So good,” Eddie nodded enthusiastically, his hands fisted in Richie’s shirt.
Richie leaned down and kissed Eddie’s forehead, and by the time he straightened up again that look that made Eddie shiver was back on his face. Still cradling Eddie’s face, he asked, “Can I get a little rough with you, baby?”
Eddie’s eyes widened. “Please,” he moaned.
A dark, mischievous grin pulled at Richie’s full, dark pink lips. “That’s a good boy,” he said with a kiss to Eddie’s jaw. “Arms up.” Eddie quickly did as he was told, eager for Richie to strip his shirt off for him. “Fuck, baby,” Richie groaned as he tossed Eddie’s shirt aside. He ran his hands up Eddie’s sides and teased his thumbs over Eddie’s hardened nipples, making him gasp and grab at the sheets. Richie’s hands looked even bigger wrapped around Eddie’s ribs. It made him press his legs together, his cock throbbing desperately in his jeans. “Aw, you don’t need to be shy, kitten,” Richie cooed, forcing one of his legs between Eddie’s and pressing his thigh against Eddie’s crotch. Eddie moaned at the contact and desperately started grinding against Richie’s leg. “Fuck, you look so pretty grinding on me like that. Think you could come like this?” Richie pressed his thigh harder against Eddie’s cock. “Think I could make you come in your pants?” Eddie cried out as Richie pinched his nipples.
“God, yes,” Eddie moaned, rolling his hips. And he could, he could feel the pleasure building and building. But just as his moans were getting breathier, just as he was really desperately rutting against Richie’s leg, Richie pulled away and tugged Eddie up by his belt loops so quickly Eddie got dizzy and fell into Richie’s solid chest. “Wh-what,” he pouted, looking up at Richie, who was smirking at him.
“Aw, baby, we’re just getting started.” Still dazed and whimpering and achingly hard, Eddie held onto Richie as he undid Eddie’s jeans. Richie then dropped to his knees to pull them off. He helped Eddie step out of his jeans, running his hands reverently over Eddie’s legs as he did so. “Oh, sweetheart, you’ve been keeping these thighs from me for months?” Richie kissed them, making Eddie quiver and flush. “Fucking tease,” he murmured into Eddie’s skin before biting down hard on the inside of Eddie’s thigh. Eddie cried out and grabbed at the bed for support. “Look at these fuckin’ things, you basically wore panties for me.” Eddie gasped as Richie playfully tugged at Eddie’s light pink, silky briefs with his teeth. He’d mostly worn them to feel confident during his exam, but he’d be lying if he said he hadn’t thought of Richie when putting them on, or if he said he hadn’t bought them with money Richie gave him. Eddie leaned back as Richie spread his legs, lifting one up to get a better angle to suck marks into Eddie’s skin. The sight of Richie’s head between Eddie’s thighs, combined with the knowledge that his thighs would be covered in bruises by the end of the night, had a wet spot forming on the front of Eddie’s briefs. Richie nuzzled his face into the soft material, just barely grazing Eddie’s cock. He looked up at Eddie, his blue eyes nearly totally eclipsed. “Did you buy these with daddy’s money, baby?” Eddie nodded, blushing. Richie smirked at him. “Is this how you spend your allowance? On slutty little panties?” Eddie moaned at that and grabbed at Richie’s hair, rolling his hips forward and meeting only air. Richie chuckled. The condescension of it went straight to Eddie’s cock, which visibly twitched in his tight little briefs. “Aw, you like being called a slut, don’t you? You like it when I call you out on being a spoiled little cocktease?” Eddie yelped when Richie bit down on the inside of his other thigh.
“Daddy, please,” he whimpered. “Need you.”
For a moment Richie just hummed and kept sucking marks into his skin. But then, finally, he dragged Eddie’s briefs down and off his legs, leaving him fully exposed. Before Eddie could process what was happening, Richie was standing and spinning Eddie around and bending him over the bed, his face pressed into the mattress as his feet once again dangled over the floor. He let out a broken little moan as he felt Richie pull his cheeks apart and run his tongue over Eddie’s hole. After Richie had set a rhythm, lulling Eddie into a pleasured haze, he suddenly felt Richie’s hand come down on his ass. He moaned at the feeling, the slight pain that left an amazing stinging sensation in its wake. “God, you make the prettiest fucking noises,” Richie groaned, once again lapping his tongue over Eddie’s hole. He circled the ring of muscle a few times before pulling back. Eddie was just about to push his hips back when he felt Richie spank him again, harder this time, then felt him spit on his hole. Eddie let out a long moan; it was degrading and possessive in the best way. Eddie tried to rut against the bed, to relieve some of the desperate need that had his cock throbbing, but he couldn’t really do it with the way his feet were hanging off the bed. He heard Richie laugh behind him as he spanked him again. “Aw, you like that, baby? You like when daddy spits on you?”
Eddie let out a muffled, pathetic little, “Yes.”
“I know, it feels good, doesn’t it? Bet you wish you could get off right now.” Eddie’s desperate writhing was confirmation of that. “Don’t worry, kitten, daddy’s gonna fucking take you apart.” Eddie gasped as he felt Richie slide his tongue inside of him, setting a rhythm of fucking and swirling and teasing that had Eddie squirming. He rocked his hips back, letting his mind go fuzzy from the pleasure until suddenly Richie was pulling out and lifting Eddie up again. As disappointed as Eddie was to have Richie’s tongue no longer in his ass, he was more than happy to let Richie toss him around and lay him on his back, his head falling against the luxuriantly soft pillows. He felt so small in Richie’s bed, felt so vulnerable under his gaze—he loved it. Richie ran his hand all the way from Eddie’s throat down to his hip, taking his time before squeezing Eddie’s hip hard. “God, you look so fucking good like this, baby.” He made quick work of the buttons on his shirt, shrugging it off and tossing it aside.
Eddie let out an involuntary little moaned, “Fuck,” at the sight of Richie’s bare chest. He sat up and ran his hand over Richie’s soft, pale skin, admiring his freckles and the slight muscle definition. His shoulders looked somehow even broader now as Eddie traced his fingers over them. Richie only humored him for a moment before pressing Eddie back down and kissing him, deep and just the right amount of forceful.
Richie’s hands roamed all over Eddie’s body. “God, you’re such a pretty little boy, baby. Can’t wait to see what you look like when you’re getting fucked.” Richie bit down on Eddie’s lip, sending a thrill of pleasure through his body. “I don’t want you fucking leaving this bed for the next week, gonna bring you everything you need. Gonna fuck you so hard you won’t be able to walk, and then I’m gonna do it again, and again.” Eddie moaned as he felt Richie’s finger circling his slick hole. “Gonna keep you nice and full of my cock whenever I can, gonna take such good care of you. You won’t need to worry about anything, gonna be my pretty little pillow princess. You just lie there and be a good little cocksleeve and daddy will take care of everything else.” Eddie preened at the thought of Richie fawning over him, of Richie doing everything for him so that all he had to do was lie back and take Richie’s cock. It had him squirming under Richie as he grabbed at Eddie wherever he could reach, surely leaving handprints all over Eddie’s body as he glided his tongue over Eddie’s. “Can’t wait to get my cock inside you, baby.” Richie sat back on his heels then and eyed Eddie’s hole, rubbing at it teasingly.
“Please,” Eddie moaned, trying to rock his hips onto Richie’s finger.
“Shh, baby, soon,” Richie soothed, leaning over to kiss Eddie again before reaching into his bedside table. He pulled out a bottle of lube and covered his fingers in it. Eddie moaned at the sight; he didn’t think a day had gone by where he hadn’t thought of Richie’s fingers since the first time they met. They were so long, and he could only imagine how amazing they would feel inside of him, fucking him, stretching him open. Richie chuckled when Eddie instinctively opened his legs. “I know, sweetheart, I know.” He tossed the lube aside and ran his clean hand over Eddie’s thigh, holding him still before slowly sliding a slick finger inside of him.
Eddie gasped and threw his head back; one of Richie’s fingers felt like two of his own and reached deeper than he ever could have by himself. “Fuck,” he cried, “your fingers are so big, oh my god.”
“Yeah?” Richie grinned, cocky and dark. As he slowly began sliding his finger in and out of Eddie, he slid his other hand up his chest until he was cradling his jaw and running the pad of his thumb teasingly over Eddie’s lips. “One finger and you’re already a mess, huh? You like the way I fill you up, baby?” Eddie moaned as Richie slid his thumb into Eddie’s mouth, effectively silencing any response Eddie could’ve made. He let out a contented hum and eagerly sucked on Richie’s finger, holding onto Richie’s forearm with both of his hands as he bobbed his head. “Fuck, that’s it, baby. Such a good little slut for daddy.” Eddie moaned again, rocking his hips as Richie began to finger him faster. Eddie cried out as Richie thrust deep inside of him, making him see stars. “Yeah, you like how deep I can get inside you, baby?” Eddie nodded. “I fucking love it too, angel. You’re so tight, so small and sweet.” He slid his thumb out of Eddie’s mouth and pressed his palm to Eddie’s throat. Eddie’s eyes widened for a moment, and he tilted his head back, giving Richie better access. Richie pressed down slightly under Eddie’s jaw on either side of his throat, moaning at the blissed out smile that graced Eddie’s face. Richie only pressed down a bit, only for a few moments at a time, just enough to get Eddie’s cock leaking all over himself. He let out breathy little moans as Richie finger fucked him, the wet sounds filling the room.
“Daddy,” Eddie moaned. He met Richie’s eyes as he begged. “Please, please, fuck me, daddy, want your cock so bad.”
“Oh, sweetheart, that’s cute” Richie grinned, his voice low and condescending in a way that made Eddie’s cock throb. “I need to open you up a little more before you’re ready for my cock.” As he said it, he pressed another slick finger inside of Eddie, stretching him out. Eddie felt so full already from just two of Richie’s fingers; his cock ached at the thought of how big Richie’s cock would feel inside of him.
Eddie was pulled out of his thoughts as Richie spit on his chest, sliding his free hand over Eddie’s nipples, getting them nice and wet as he played with them. “Daddy,” Eddie began, but he cut himself off with a scream as Richie curled his fingers inside of him, making electric pleasure shoot through him. He moaned and squirmed and grabbed at Richie’s hair, at the sheets, anything to ground himself as Richie leaned down and sucked on his nipples, still relentlessly fucking Eddie’s hole with his fingers. “Please,” Eddie gasped, “daddy, please.”
“You sure you’re ready, baby?” Richie teased.
“Fuck me, please,” he whined, clearly getting impatient. “I can take it!”
“Oh yeah?” Richie asked, pulling his fingers out. He had a look on his face that had Eddie’s blood pounding in excited anticipation. “Okay, baby. If you think you can take it.” He stood up off the bed then, and Eddie sat up a bit to watch. With rapt attention, his eyes followed Richie’s every movement as he dragged his jeans off his legs, then stripped off his boxers.
“God, daddy,” Eddie whimpered, drooling over the sight of Richie’s cock. It was thick and heavy and hard, and so fucking long, Eddie couldn’t believe he’d been keeping himself from a dick like that for months. It was even longer than any of his dildos or vibrators. He needed to feel it down his throat, he needed it.
Seeming to sense this, just as Eddie began to move toward him Richie lightly shoved him back down. “Stay where you are, baby.” Eddie whined but reluctantly complied. The way Richie tauntingly stroked his cock just out of Eddie’s reach had him debating whether it was worth it to be bratty if it meant getting his throat fucked. But his cock was throbbing between his legs, his hole pitifully empty, and watching Richie roll a condom on and lube up his cock made it hard to think about anything other than getting fucked. “Maybe if I’m feeling generous I’ll come on your face,” Richie mused, almost casually as he climbed back onto the bed and spread Eddie’s legs, settling naturally between them. Eddie moaned at his words and melted back into the bed. The sight of Richie above him, the way he touched him, had Eddie completely pliant. He felt warm and buzzy, almost liquid as Richie ran his hand reverently over Eddie’s thigh. As he teased the head of his cock over Eddie’s hole, he took Eddie’s hand in his and entwined their fingers. While Eddie nearly moaned just at that sight alone, at the way Richie’s hand engulfed Eddie’s own, it was also incredibly endearing, and it made something stir in his chest. Guys didn’t normally hold his hand when fucking him, and if they tried it was just weird, as he pretty much only did hookups. But with Richie… it felt different. The way Richie looked at him was different. Like he didn’t want to miss a single thing Eddie did.
Richie’s voice was low and rich and brought Eddie back as he asked, “Ready?” Eddie bit his lip and nodded. As Richie pressed himself inside of Eddie, careful and slow, Eddie squeezed Richie’s hand. His mouth dropped open in a silent cry as he felt every inch of Richie’s cock filling him up. Once he bottomed out, Richie let out a low groan and rested his forehead against Eddie’s, pressing kisses all over Eddie’s face.
“Holy… holy shit,” Eddie panted, letting his body adjust. He’d never felt this full before, had never had anything so deep inside of him. “Oh my god.”
Richie chuckled in his ear as he kissed Eddie’s neck. “What’s the matter, kitten?” he teased.
Eddie couldn’t even be bothered to take the banter bait; everything felt too good, his mind was numb. “You’re so big,” he said dumbly, saying exactly what was on his mind. “No one’s ever been this deep inside me before, holy shit.”
“I can tell,” Richie hummed. “So fucking tight for me, baby, it’s fucking amazing.” Eddie let out a small whimper as Richie sucked on his neck. “Does it feel good?”
“Yes,” Eddie sighed. “I just, I need just a minute.”
Richie nuzzled his nose against Eddie’s and pressed a soft kiss to his lips. “As long as you need.”
As Richie kissed him, sucking gently on his lower lip, Eddie slid his free hand into Richie’s hair, admiring the way his curls felt between his fingers. Then, experimentally, he lifted his legs a bit, pulling them toward himself. They both moaned at the movement, and Eddie felt Richie squeeze his hand. “Oh my god,” Eddie moaned. He grabbed Richie’s face and kissed him desperately, pleading into his lips, “Fuck, I’m ready, please, please fuck me.”
Richie grabbed him by the hair and held him down, lifting himself up with his other arm. “Yeah?” he said, voice breathy as he pulled his hips back. He looked amazing, dark curls wild as they hung around his face, his blue eyes dark and hungry behind his glasses, his lips slick and red from kissing Eddie. He squeezed Eddie’s hip hard and asked, “You wanna get fucked, sweetheart?”
“Please,” Eddie whined. He hooked his hands under his knees and pulled them up to his chest, spreading them nice and wide for Richie. He watched Richie’s eyes go dark and begged, “Please, need you to fuck me, daddy.”
Richie snapped his hips forward with a sharp, “Fuck,” making Eddie cry out. He pulled his hips back again, until just the tip of his cock was buried inside of Eddie. “Say that again.”
Eddie met Richie’s gaze with glassy eyes and whimpered, “Please, fuck me, daddy.”
Richie cursed again and thrust into Eddie, this time setting a more steady pace. “God, you feel so fucking good on my cock, baby.” Eddie moaned and rocked his hips, his hands falling to grip the sheets beneath him as Richie began fucking him faster, harder. “You look so good like this, so pretty when you’re moaning for my cock.” Eddie flushed; Richie’s words had precome pearling at the head of dick, dripping onto his stomach.
Richie’s thrusts were getting hard enough to rock Eddie’s body back and forth, moving him so easily as Richie fucked him. Eddie loved it, loved how effortlessly Richie could toss him around. He loved hearing Richie moan as he fucked him, loved knowing that Richie felt just as good as he did. He loved the idea of Richie using his body to get himself off. The thought had him letting out little high pitched moans with every thrust. The pleasure left his mind in a haze, and all he could concentrate on was how good Richie’s cock felt inside of him, all he could say was a desperate string of, “Fuck me, fuck me, fuck me,” broken up by wordless moans.
“Fuck, you take it so well, baby,” Richie praised, running his hand over Eddie’s chest. “So fucking good for me. You like getting fucked like this? You like being all spread out for daddy? Just lying back and taking it while daddy makes you feel good?”
“Yes!” Eddie cried. “Yes, yes, yes, daddy, oh my god, ‘s so good, fuck.”
“God, you’re so beautiful,” Richie marveled, leaning down to kiss Eddie. The new angle shifted Richie’s hips, and suddenly Eddie was seeing stars, every nerve in his body coming alive and fizzling like a sparkler. He cried out and clutched at Richie, nearly screaming from how amazing it felt.
“Fuck,” he moaned, his voice high and desperate. “Right there, yes, oh my fucking god, don’t stop, please, please, don’t stop.”
“Aw, sweetheart, does that feel good?” Eddie nodded frantically, his moans becoming shouts as Richie’s cock brushed against his prostate over and over, the pleasure so deep and all encompassing. He couldn’t think about anything else, all he knew was that amazing feeling, all he knew was he needed more. He wanted more and more and more, he could feel it building, was vaguely aware of the fact that he was digging his nails into Richie’s back hard enough to leave scratch marks.
“Daddy,” he slurred, “gonna c-come.”
“Fuck, baby,” Richie groaned. He spit generously into his hand and reached between them to stroke Eddie’s cock. Eddie’s back arched, pressing himself against Richie. The new contact had pleasure rushing through him, and with a few strokes of Richie’s hand on him and a nearly growled, “Come for daddy,” Eddie was coming undone. Pleasure exploded through him, wracked his body as he came all over himself, all over Richie’s hand, Richie fucking into him the whole time. Beyond the noise of his own moans and screams, he could hear Richie cursing under his breath, telling Eddie how good he was doing.
Eddie panted as he came down, blinking his eyes open slowly. Still buzzing, he watched as Richie carefully pulled out of him and rolled the condom off before leaning further over Eddie. He spit into his hand again and began stroking his own cock, a sight that made Eddie’s spent cock twitch in interest.
“Open your mouth, baby,” Richie moaned. Eddie happily complied, sticking his tongue out and closing his eyes. Moments later, Richie’s moans were filling the room, as was the slick sound of Richie stroking himself, and Eddie moaned, small and content as he felt Richie’s warm come painting his chest and cheeks and lips.
He blinked open his eyes once he heard Richie let out a heavy sigh. He looked amazing, sweaty curls clinging to his face, blue eyes hooded as he took in the sight of Eddie beneath him, covered in come. Eddie made sure to meet Richie’s gaze before he swallowed the come on his tongue, then licked more off of his lips. “Fuck, you’re a fucking angel,” Richie grinned. He swiped his fingers over Eddie’s chest, spreading his come over Eddie’s nipple before bringing it to his lips. Eddie hummed happily as he sucked on Richie’s fingers. He still felt like he was floating. Richie leaned down and kissed him, deep and lingering, before saying, “Let’s get you cleaned up, baby, okay?” When Eddie nodded, Richie climbed off the bed and headed for the bathroom. Eddie watched through the open door as Richie waited for the water to warm, then wet a washcloth under it before walking back over to the bed. Eddie preened as Richie cleaned him, pressing soft kisses all over his face as he gently ran the warm washcloth over Eddie’s cheeks and chest and stomach. “That was fucking amazing,” Richie said. Eddie hummed in agreement. He felt like he was glowing when he felt Richie smile against his skin. “You’re so beautiful, Eds. So fucking good for me.” As soon as Eddie was clean and the washcloth was tossed in the hamper, Eddie wrapped his arms around Richie and pulled him down against him, nuzzling into his neck.
“You’re amazing,” he murmured softly into Richie’s skin. They lay like that for a few minutes, just holding each other and pressing soft kisses against each other’s skin, until Eddie let out a small, “Richie?”
Richie sat up and met his eyes, sensing the shift in his tone. “Yeah?”
“What… what is this? Like what are we, I guess?” he asked, tracing patterns over Richie’s skin with his fingertips.
Richie smiled softly down at him and stroked his cheek. “Same thing it’s always been. Whatever you want.”
Eddie huffed. “What do you want?”
Richie bit his lip, his eyes flickering between Eddie’s. “I want you. All the time. I wanna take you on vacations and buy you gifts and flowers and dinner and watch movies with you. I wanna date you, Eds,” he said with a weak huff of a laugh. “I wanna give you the fucking world.”
Eddie grinned up at him and pulled him down for a kiss. “I wanna date you, too.”
After a few moments of chaste kisses, Richie murmured into his lips, “I also wanna fuck you in every position on every single surface I can think of.” Eddie rolled his eyes and smacked his shoulder, but he was giggling, and he couldn’t say he hadn’t been thinking the same thing.

Little Dashes of Doom
“Eh-Eddie, your phone is r-ringing,” Bill says. It’s the tenth time in the last half hour.
“Just turn it off, Bill. I’m not going to answer it.” Eddie doesn’t look up from his computer.
“Buh-But it’s your ma.”
“I know, Bill. I already told her when I was coming home. She can chill.” He sounds tired, and Bill just wants to wrap him up in a blanket and make him relax between him and Richie. This semester had really kicked all of their asses.
Bill watches the phone as it stops ringing. It dings a moment later with a voicemail. Bill picks it up and turns it off. He kisses Eddie’s hair as he sits it on the table next to him.
“H-How’s the puh-aper coming?” Bill asks as he opens up the fridge. Bill himself had just finished his own last final just a few hours before.
“I hate fucking Shakespeare,” Eddie growls.
“Th-That good, eh?”
Eddie doesn't respond while Bill looks through the fridge. He finds a beer and heads to the couch where Richie is playing on their shared Switch. His legs are spread awkwardly, one up and over the back of the couch, the other hanging down by the floor. Bill sits in between his legs, pulling Richie’s leg into his lap.
“Hey, babycakes, you ok?” Richie asks without looking up.
“I’m ok.” Bill takes a sip of his beer. “You ok?”
“Yeah, fine. Why wouldn’t I be? Shit! I just fucking died!” He sighs and lets the Switch fall to his chest. “What are we doing for food?”
“We have l-leftover p-pizza,” Bill says.
Groaning, Richie sits up and tugs himself closer to Bill with his legs. He leans close and kisses Bill’s neck.
“I am so tired of pizza.” Richie scrapes his teeth against Bill’s chin. “Maybe I’ll just have you for dinner. How does that sound?” They giggle and Eddie huffs from the kitchen.
“Ugh, rude of you to start without me,” Eddie grouses, but there’s no real heat to his words.
Bill and Richie giggle again.
“S-Sorry, E-Eddie!”
“We were just discussing dinner.” Richie kisses Bill’s neck again.
Giggling, Bill pushes him away. “Shhh… St-Stop.”
Richie just pulls him closer and they giggle again.
“If I fail my final, it will be all your faults!” Eddie yells.
“Wh-What d-do you want for d-dinner?” Bill asks.
Eddie is silent for a minute. “Surprise me.”
Bill turns and kisses Richie. “We’re guh–nna go p-pick up dinner.”
“We are?” Richie asks. Bill nods. He holds his hand out and Richie takes it. They go to the door, tug on their coats and boots. It’s cold outside, but Bill just holds tightly to Richie’s hand.
“Where to, Big B?” Richie asks after they’ve climbed in the car.
Bill shrugs. “I don’t care.” He thinks for a minute. “Wh-Where do you—”
“I already told you what I wanted.” Richie winks.
Leaning back against the passenger seat headrest, Bill smiles at him. “Ok, b-but like a-actual food, Richie.”
“Ugh, you’re no fun,” Richie says. They talk for a few more minutes and end up going to the local diner. They get pancakes, fries, salad, and pie. Sometimes Eddie has trouble eating when he’s stressed, and they want to make sure to get him something he’ll eat.
When they get back, Eddie’s computer and his books are in a neat stack. The bathroom door is closed and they can hear him screaming at someone.
“I am working on my finals, mommy!” Eddie screams. Richie and Bill hesitate in the doorway. They look at each other but creep in. It’s been a while since Eddie had gone off like this. When they’d first met him a few years back, he’d yelled a lot more. Richie liked to tease that he was a feral chihuahua until Eddie’d absolutely lost it and tried to beat Richie up. It hadn’t gone well; Richie was so much taller than him and he had just pulled him into a hug, apologies sliding off his tongue. He promised to never do it again. After that, there were less and less explosions until there were none.
“No! No! You listen! I’m doing my work. I’ll be home in three days. Three! You have my–” Eddie pauses. “Please, would you just–”
Richie puts the food on the table and Bill clears away Eddie’s school work.
“God damnit, mom! They are not my roommates, they are my boyfriends. We have been over and over–” Another pause. “Well maybe I won’t come home then!” There’s another pause followed by a loud banging sound and then Eddie begins to sob.
Bill and Richie look at each other as they sit there listening to Eddie cry and yell at himself. Bill can’t quite make out everything he’s saying, but he knows it’s not good. He hears things like pussy, and coward, and little bitch. Things that he’d been told his whole life. Things Bill had thought he’d worked through.
Bill had apparently been wrong.
“I’m gonna go get him,” Richie says, and gets up. Bill catches his hand, and shakes his head. They sigh.
“Wuh–ne m-more m-minute.” He swallows hard. Richie sits back down slowly. Bill hates this just as much as Richie, but he doesn’t want to push Eddie too hard.
Slowly, Eddie’s sobs lessen. Bill wants to get up and go to him, but still he hesitates. Richie leans into his space and rests his head on Bill’s shoulder.
“Can we go get him now?” Richie asks.
Bill licks his lips. He’s about to say yes when they hear the bathroom door open, and Eddie sees them as soon as he looks up.
“Oh,” he says softly. His eyes are red and puffy. He swallows hard several times. “I-I–” And then tears fill his eyes, and his face crumbles, and Richie and Bill go to him, pull him close and let him cling to them as he cries.
“It’s ok, Eddie, we’ve got you,” Richie murmurs into his hair. “We’ve got you.”
“L-Let it out, b-baby,” Bill whispers.
Eddie’s fingers dig into Bill’s shirt as he sobs. His whole body is shaking and Bill wishes he could find Sonia Kaspbrak and give her a piece of his mind, but he tries to push these thoughts away as he kisses Eddie’s hair.
They sit on the couch, and it takes a long time for Eddie to calm down. Even after he’s stopped crying, he still clings to them. He whines when Richie pulls away.
“I’ll be back, my love, just going to get you some water,” Richie says as Eddie grips his shirt hem.
“But I–” Eddie’s hoarse, and Bill can’t help but feel sorry for him.
“I-It w-will help,” Bill says. He reaches out and pulls Eddie’s hand free. “It will help.” Slowly, Eddie lets go and lets Bill lace their fingers together. He leans back into Bill and closes his eyes.
After Eddie drinks his water, he looks around at them with heavy sad eyes. He’s cradled between them, both of them pushing into his space.
“I’m–I’m sorry,” Eddie says.
“What for, love?” Richie asks. He strokes Eddie’s hair, kisses his temple.
“Because I–Because I’m such a freaking mess,” Eddie whispers.
“Yo-You’re n-not a m-mess.” Bill kisses Eddie behind his ear and Eddie’s eyelashes flutter a little.
“Your mom is a fucking cunt,” Richie says.
Bill frowns at him. Eddie usually freaks whenever someone says something bad about his mom.
“Yeah, she is,” Eddie says.
Bill and Richie make shocked noises. Bill squeezes him.
“I’m just so tired of her. She’s...” His voice waivers and takes a deep breath. “I have to use the bathroom.” Eddie gives them each a kiss before he gets up.
Once the door is closed, Richie looks at Bill, scowling.
“What the fuck is that bitch’s problem?” Richie growls.
“I d-don’t kn-know.” Bill sighs. He scoots closer to Richie. “I h-hate her so much. It’s been s-such a l-long t-time si-since–”
“Yeah, he’s been doing so good.” Richie huffs. “I just wish I could meet that bitch just one time so I could–”
“Trust me, you don’t want to meet my mom,” Eddie says. Richie and Bill jump, neither of them had heard the toilet flush. “C’mon. I’m hungry.”
Sharing glances, Richie and Bill get up and follow Eddie into the kitchen. He’s sitting at the table, pulling the food out of the bag and frowns at the fries.
“Aww, fuck, they’re cold.” Eddie’s lip trembles a little. “I’m sorry. I should have waited to call. I just finished my final and I–”
“N-No, b-baby. It’s ok. Th-The fries w–ill heat up,” Bill says.
“Yeah,” Richie agrees. “That’s why God invented microwaves, right?” He picks up the container and throws it in, pushing buttons quickly. “See? It’s fine.”
Sniffling, Eddie wrinkles his nose. “Nuked fries taste so gross.”
“I think we got some cheese and Ranch. That will help.” Richie goes to the fridge as Eddie looks at the rest of the food and looks up at Bill.
“You two are the best, do you know that?” Eddie asks. Richie kisses his hair as he wraps his arms around Eddie’s shoulders.
“N-No you,” Bill says.
Wrapping his fingers around Richie’s forearms, Eddie kisses his inner arm. “I love you both so much.”
“We love you, too.” Richie pulls away as the microwave beeps.
After they eat, they curl up on the couch to watch TV. They’re all crossed limbs and elbows in stomachs and pulled hair, but they don’t really care. Eddie just lets the others hold him close, pet his hair, kiss him.
“Are you doing better?” Richie asks after a bit. Eddie shrugs.
“Wh-What happened?” Bill asks.
Eddie shrugs again. “Just the usual. I finished my paper like right after you left, so I decided to call her before she called the police like she did that one time, and she said since I was done with my finals that I needed to come home right away. When I said I want to stay with you two, that my ticket is nonrefundable or exchangeable, she said she didn’t care about the cost, that she’d pay and…” He sighs. “She just wouldn’t listen. She kept saying, ‘You may be an adult, but you’re still my child.’” He huffs. “I’ve been financially independent from that old bag for over a year. She has no right to say shit like that to me any more.”
“N-No, she doesn’t,” Bill agrees.
“Honestly, she never should have talked to you that way, ever,” Richie says. Eddie leans a little closer to him. He plays with the strings on Bill’s hoodie.
“I know,” Eddie whispers.
Bill can hardly believe what he’s hearing. His heart fills with pride and he pulls Eddie’s legs into his lap and cups Eddie’s face in his hands before kissing him so, so gently. When they pull apart, Bill pushes his forehead into Eddie’s forehead.
“L-Love you,” Bill whispers. When he pulls back, Richie presses his own kiss into Eddie’s temple.
“You know, you don’t have to go,” Richie says. “You can come home with us.”
“O-Or we c-could go wi-with you,” Bill says.
Eddie shakes his head. “It will be ok.”
Sighing, Richie shakes his head, no. “You shouldn’t have to deal with her alone. Let us come with you.”
“I couldn’t ask you to do that,” Eddie murmurs.
“Y-You d–idn’t. We’re t-telling you. We’re coming wi–th you,” Bill says. Richie smiles at Bill.
“You really don’t–”
“Eds, you may as well give it up. We’re coming with you, and if your mom can’t deal, well, fuck her, and we’ll leave early.” Richie pauses. “In fact, plan on it. We’ll all have to change our tickets, call our families, but we’ll split up the break evenly. It will be fun.”
“We can’t afford that!” Eddie protests.
“Y-Yes we c-can! I just got p-paid for th–at piece I wrote a why-while back,” Bill says.
“No, Bill, you were going to use that for a new computer!” Eddie says.
“I’ll j-just st-steal yours.” Bill strokes his arm.
“You’re ridiculous,” Eddie murmurs, but there’s a small smile on my face. He sighs and leans into Richie. “You guys are the best, do you know that?”
“N-No, you.” Bill laces their fingers together.
“Yeah, spaghetti, you’re the best.” Richie kisses his hair.
Eddie closes his eyes, and settles back.
“We d-don’t have to m-make any d-decisions tonight,” Bill says. “W-We can t-talk t-tomorrow.”
“Ok,” Eddie says. He sighs again and sits up. “You guys wanna do something?”
“Like what?” Richie asks.
“Play Mario Kart?”
“Only if you don't cry when I kick your butt!" Richie says as he pulls himself free and gets up to set up the Switch. Eddie scoots around and leans into Bill's side.
"Yeah, we'll see who cries, Tozier!" Eddie teases.
Bill knows it is a toss-up between the two; they are both really good. It's Bill that's going to be the loser, but he doesn't really care. He's terrible at video games, but he loves being with his boyfriends.
He sits there listening to them argue about who is the worst player and waits to be handed a controller. He loves listening to them bicker like this, and he knows Eddie bickering is a good sign. Licking his lips, Bill leans into Eddie, eyes closed for a moment.
"You ok, Bill?" Eddie asks as Richie's attention falters. He's fighting with the cords and cursing under his breath.
"Yeah, I'm good." Bill takes a deep breath and lets it out slowly. "Love you so much."
Eddie squeezes his hand. "Love you."
"Got it!" Richie says triumphantly. He tosses a couple of controllers at them and sits near the TV. "You two losers ready?"
"Shut up, buttmunch," Eddie says. "Get ready to eat my dust!"
"Bring it!" Richie says.
Bill struggles with his controller and gets settled. He knows the next couple of weeks are going to be hard. Eddie had agreed tonight that they would change their winter break plans, but that doesn't mean that it isn't going to be a struggle. He knows Eddie wants to break free, but Bill knows it isn’t easy; Sonia has a firm grip on her son.
Bill is not looking forward to the back and forth that is inevitably coming, but he decides there is no point in worrying about that now. Right now, Eddie is happy, Eddie is safe, and the three of them are going to have a good night. Tomorrow is future Bill’s problem, and tonight all he has to worry about is not driving the wrong way on the track. He knows everything will be ok.

Sincere and Dignified
“Eddie's twenty-first birthday + The entire Losers' Club + Las Vegas + Being in love with your best friend = Well, exactly what you'd expect.”
[read it on Ao3]
(or here)
Eddie’s birthday is in November. Which makes him the youngest member of the Losers’ Club. Which makes him the last Loser to turn twenty-one.
Which means they go all-out to celebrate, since it’s the first time they can all (legally) celebrate together. And because they’ve kind of forgone “proper” twenty-first birthday festivities for everyone else, so no one would ever feel left out. Finally, no one needs to be left out of it.
They’ve all been living together for over three years now, they’re all getting close to graduating from college, and they all saved up for this one, because this is pretty much it. The last big, fun, tangible milestone in their young lives. The last “new” thing they’re earning the right to do (legally) after driving and voting. You bet your ass they go ham on Eddie’s birthday plans.
That’s how they end up in Vegas. Several long weeks of planning, lots of money they scraped together into jars over the last few years ready to be spent, checking and double-checking every class syllabus to make sure no one misses anything important on Friday (they have to be at their hotel in time for check-in or, between Stan and Eddie, someone will pitch a fit). Then they’re all piling into Ben’s station wagon with as little luggage as they could manage to bring for a weekend trip (the station wagon is “spacious”; it is not a fucking miracle vehicle).
Roughly ten hours later (five hours for driving, two for check-in plus cramming all their crap into the motel room and then attempting to organize it, one for figuring out and agreeing on where to even start with the partying, two more for getting ready) Eddie Kaspbrak has his first legal drink as a proper twenty-one year old, on this night of November third, and there’s no aftertaste of guilt like usual. He’s got Richie pushing shots into his hands, Mike making sure he’s eating some snacks once in a while so he doesn’t get too trashed too fast, Bev directing bartenders to make the most delicious fucking drinks he thinks he’ll ever taste in his life (Porn Stars, or something else inappropriate like that).
He has Bill, the oldest, practically under oath to stay sober (at least for tonight) so there’s one semi-coherent Loser present to keep the rest of them safe and sane until he can drag them all back to the motel.
He has a wad of cash in his pocket, a chunk of his savings from the past year, ready to blow on booze and gambling and whatever the fuck he wants, because it’s his birthday, so he’s allowed to do whatever the fuck he wants.
It’s safe, and more importantly, it’s legal, and most importantly, it’s Vegas. He never thought he’d ever have the balls to set foot in a place like this -- the kind of place his mother would demonize when he was a kid. Drinking, before he left Derry and his mom and the vice grip she had on his life, was completely out of the question, let alone getting hammered in a casino in Sin City, of all fucking places, under the care of the “evil little shits” he calls his best friends.
He more than lets loose. He lets twenty-one years of virtually non-stop anxiety unwind in one night.
When he wakes up the next morning, hung over for the first time in his life, it’s almost worth it. Bill’s the only motherfucker awake already, being that he’s the only one who doesn’t have several bottles of vodka et al. to sleep off, and he’s draped across the ratty arm chair in their ratty motel room, channel-surfing with the television volume as low as it can get. The light burns Eddie’s eyes, still, when he lifts his head and -- instead of turning, his head just kind of lolls on his shoulders until he can look at Bill properly.
He wants to ask him to end his suffering, which he can only assume he has yet to see the worst of. Suddenly he understands why aspirin exists. He wants Bill to pump him full of painkillers until he stops feeling like he’s made of electrified cotton. Instead, he says, articulately, “Guh.”
Bill turns his attention from Scooby-Doo to where Eddie is half-lying, trapped under the weight of Richie’s arm and half his chest. Richie is snoring away, glasses askew on his face, a cooling puddle of drool soaking Eddie’s shoulder. It’s gross, but he can’t really complain at this point. He’s accustomed to it by now.
    “Ah, he lives.”
    “Ugh,” says Eddie.
“I bet,” says Bill. “So, do you want a recap of the events of last night, or did you keep your promise and remember every life-altering decision you chose to make?”
Bill’s voice, which he’s hardly putting much effort into keeping down -- owing to the fact that all his effort is being channeled into trying not to laugh, and Eddie can’t even begin to fathom what’s so funny -- is causing the other Losers to stir. His splitting headache doesn’t want him to try to figure out what’s funny. He must have fried a metric shitload of braincells with all those Porn Stars last night, or whatever the fuck sugary booze Bev was pouring down his throat before everything went hazy.
“Life-altering?” he repeats after a few moments, as Richie’s arm finally stops crushing him. It’s the only word that really stands out to him in the jumbled mess of hangover discomfort his brain is fighting, and it should cause him anxiety but he’s more worried, right now, about drinking some water. Richie sits up beside him, yawning.
Bill hums. He looks terribly pleased with himself, which can be good or bad depending which side of the story you’re on, and Eddie’s got this sneaking suspicion he’s on the wrong side, here. “Yeah, that life-altering thing I tried to talk you two dipshits out of for longer than the actual ceremony took?”
“Ceremony?” Eddie asks, trying to feel back through his poor, poor brain to remember anything after slot machines and vibrant chatter and deceptively sweet beverages being passed to him. Richie’s head drops onto his shoulder as his arms wrap around Eddie’s waist. “Guh,” he says into the fabric of Eddie’s rumpled shirt. Habitually, Eddie reaches up to pat him consolingly on the head. Richie’s not one for mornings.
“Why don’t you take a look at your ring finger, birthday boy?” Bill says, but Eddie’s already frozen, because there was a flash when he raised his hand and he’s not entirely sure he’s believing what he’s seeing, and where the fuck did he even get the ring anyway, let alone a ring as nice as this? “Or, sorry, I should say: Mr. Tozier?”
Eddie... mostly ignores him, in favour of smacking Richie a few times on the skull to get his attention, hangovers be damned. “Richie,” he hisses, heart going a mile a minute. “The fuck did I do?”
Richie grumbles some kind of complaint, lifting his head from its safe space on Eddie’s shoulder, and when he follows Eddie’s gaze he lets out a kind of... laugh? More of a squawk, really. His left arm jerks off of Eddie’s waist lightning-quick, and then he’s holding up his own hand beside Eddie’s to show off their matching rings. “Oh my god,” he says, quiet (for Richie). A little bit of tension melts out of him. Then, “I think you mean, ‘the fuck did we do?’”
“Oh my god,” Eddie squeaks, and Bill loses his battle and dissolves into peals of laughter, remote slipping out of his hands and landing somewhere on the floor. “Bill, you were supposed to be babysitting.”
It takes a while, but Bill manages to regain his composure long enough to say, “Well forgive me, but you were a man on a mission. I distinctly remember a lot of, ‘we’re practically dating anyway’ and ‘no time like the present’ and ‘Bill, if you don’t step the fuck off I’m gonna shove this ring so far up your nostril you’ll be sneezing gold until you’re ninety.’ What was I gonna do about it?”
“Oh my god,” Eddie says again, red-faced, mortified, heart still going-going-going. They aren’t dating, though, is the problem, and yeah, he’s always had this stupid little idea in his stupid little head that they might as well be, but he’s never asked, because he wasn’t sure if he should. Wasn’t sure if it was safe. Wasn’t sure if Richie wanted something proper or to just stay very, very close friends until the grave. They weren’t dating, and now they’re married, and ohJesusMaryandJoseph why did he let himself get so drunk last night?
He doesn’t expect Richie to be resentful or anything, but he’s also an anxious mess by default, and post-drunken-haze Eddie is a different, apparently less chill person than mid-drunken-haze Eddie, because he doesn’t remember having this freakout last night.
He doesn’t think that Richie will be pissed about it, necessarily, but he’s terrified that Richie’s going to want to... undo this, somehow.
    He expects regret.
He doesn’t expect Richie to slide his hand against Eddie’s so that their rings clack together, letting out a soft little, “Aw,” as he does so, or to press his scratchy, stubbly face against Eddie’s cheek to plant a kiss there, or to say, just as quiet and soft as ever, “We’re married, Eds.”
“Is that okay?” Eddie asks, heart in his throat, wondering if he somehow forced Richie into this when he wasn’t in full control of his faculties.
“More than okay,” Richie says. “Is it okay with you?”
Eddie nods dumbly, staring at their rings again, wondering what the fuck possessed them to make such a rash, life-altering decision like this, yet understanding all too well that his love for Richie is too big to contain and it has to spill out in little doses like this, or it’ll probably kill him, or make him go crazy. “Yeah,” he says finally, nodding perhaps too fast. “Yeah, Richie, it’s more than okay.”
He turns in Richie’s arms to kiss him properly, apparently not for the first time, and just the action brings a couple snippets of last night’s escapades abruptly to the surface.
*
“$25 Weddings,” a pink neon sign outside a squat white chapel proclaims, “Sincere and Dignified.” And below that, in smaller, baby blue lettering: “Can provide: Flowers, Rings, Witnesses, Transportation, Attire...” The list goes on. It’s a wonder Eddie is coherent enough to read it, let alone comprehend it, but he’s rounding on Richie, whose arm he’s hanging off of, with the best fucking idea already leaping from his lips.
*
“Ffffffuck Kaspbrak,” Eddie slurs as a reluctant Bill helps him slip on a suit jacket, fiddling with the purple clip-on bowtie Richie threw over the divider at him. “Fuck Kaspbrak, right, Rich?”
“Right,” Richie says enthusiastically -- probably too enthusiastically -- from the other side of the thin wooden divider that separates their “changing rooms.”
“Fuck that name,” Eddie decides, nodding to himself. Bill takes the bowtie out of his hands with a sigh, and Eddie lifts his chin to let Bill fasten it to his shirt, grumbling all the while about how stupid they both are. “And fuck my mom.”
“Fuck your mom!” Richie shouts. There’s a beat of relative quiet, then, “Not, like, fuck your mom, obviously. Fuck... you, maybe?” And then Bev’s raucous laughter echoes through the whole room.
Eddie can’t help laughing with her, even though Bill’s insisting he stay still “so you can at least look semi-presentable for your pictures, c’mon, Eddie, this is a big moment for me, too.”
*
“How are you the bridezilla, here, Bill?”
“Could you please just work with me here, I swear to-- agh!” (More laughter from Bev. Stan saying something incomprehensible but loud and boisterous. Mike trying to shush them.) “I’m just trying to make sure this is actually special since you absolute buffoons refuse to just wait and do this right.” Is Bill fucking crying?
*
Richie’s tongue down Eddie’s throat, over and over and over: in the chapel; in a bar; in front of the bar; just before Bill drags them away from the casino they’re trying to sneak back into and instead towards the station wagon he’s doing his best to herd the Losers to; in the station wagon; in front of the motel.
Bill prying them apart with minimal assistance from a piss-drunk Ben who insists he’s “helping,” telling them once again that they are not allowed to consummate their fucking marriage in public, and especially not allowed to do it in the motel room all seven of them have to sleep in--
*
He hears Bev’s little “aww” behind him somewhere as he and Richie break apart, and Stan’s grief about how fucking early it is “for this shit.” Eddie can hear something like a smile in his voice, if not just plain old amusement.
“We’re married, Rich,” Eddie repeats incredulously, and Bill is saying something about their marriage license in his wallet because neither of them can be trusted, but Eddie couldn’t care less about licenses or whatever, because Richie’s smiling down at him in that way that makes his heart feel too full. And he doesn’t mean to, but a choked noise bubbles up out of him, almost a sob, maybe a laugh. Tears burn in his eyes.
But that’s alright, because Richie’s crying already, and he wraps himself bodily around Eddie, rolling them over so he’s squishing him into the mattress while he kisses all over his face and his throat until Eddie’s squealing with laughter despite his agonizing hangover. He almost feels too good to care about it now, but he’s definitely getting some water and painkillers into his system the second the weird high he’s feeling subsides.
“Okay, okay,” says Stan, standing above them suddenly, swatting at Richie’s shoulders. “You’ve had your fun. Noisy assholes. We were too drunk for proper congratulations last night. Move over.”
All the Losers squeeze themselves onto the queen bed, somehow, and water bottles and aspirin get passed around. At some point Bill gets up to start the coffeemaker and comes back with (good fucking lord) their “wedding photos” in a crisp manila envelope. They’re just as gaudy as he expected. Leave it to Richie to find the ugliest possible outfit for his literal wedding.
Eddie gets hugs and shoulder-squeezes and cheek-kisses from everyone, over and over, and Bev actually cries for about ten full minutes while she holds him, then at least ten more while she holds Richie, and then Ben cries, and... well, they all end up crying all over each other, but it’s awash with joy. “We’re happy for you,” they keep saying, and Eddie’s happy for them, too. He didn’t expect to accidentally do things this way, but he has to be glad it happened.
“God,” he says a while later, shaking his head as he sips sugary coffee from the mug he and Richie are sharing (this room is meant for four people, max, not seven, and is equipped accordingly). He’s still examining a picture of Richie attempting to give him a piggy-back ride out of the chapel. Bill is visible in the background, eyes red and puffy, a wad of tissues clenched in his hand while Mike tries to console him. Eddie has been making fun of him for about half an hour now. “My mom would flip if I told her about this.” But the thought doesn’t scare him. He doesn’t get scared of her anymore. Not like he used to. Not when he’s so far away and he feels so safe with these six idiots who bring so much joy to his life.
Richie’s thumb rubs over the skin of his lower back where his hand has crept up Eddie’s shirt. “Good thing you don’t have to,” he says, and that familiar mantra of “You never have to see her again,” bleeds through, plain as ever.
Eddie hums. Passes the coffee back to him. “I know. But... I kinda want to. Just to watch her head explode,” he says with a shrug and a grin, earning a chorus of easy laughter from his friends. He stares at the ring on Richie’s finger as Richie throws back the rest of their coffee, something warm and familiar blooming brighter in his chest.

Feels Like Summer by Weezer a Reddie au
be warned…this gets sad
Climbing up the tower, just a boy and his computer
I'm still in my bathrobe, hiding in the shadows
I'm not used to losing, bye-bye, sugar blue eyes
You're home with the angels, thank you for being so kind
Richie made his way up the tree outside Eddie’s bedroom window before very graciously crashing onto Eddie’s floor. He had a blush on his face from biking as fast as he could.
“Jesus, Rich. Did you nearly pass out on your way over here?” Eddie asked with an eyebrow raised. Richie felt the sudden urge to kiss that eyebrow. He shook his head.
“Can’t keep my spaghetti man waiting, can I?” He pushed himself off the floor and plopped beside Eddie on his bed. He was fresh out of the shower and still in his fluffy robe. Richie rubbed his head into his shoulder and pretended to purr like a cat.
“So soft.” He hummed. Eddie laughed and pushed Richie off of him before standing up to get changed.
“I didn’t know you get here so fast. I haven’t even put clothes on yet.” Richie tucked his hands behind his head and crossed his legs, relaxing against the wall.
“We’ll don’t mind me.” He grinned. Eddie threw a pair of socks at his face.
“Shut the fuck up Trashmouth and close your eyes.” Richie cackled and laid his head back, resting the pair of socks on the bridge of his nose.
“Change away, spaghetti. I can’t see a thing.” Richie waved his hand and smiled to himself as he heard Eddie shuffling around. After a few moments, there was a punch to Richie arm and he blinked open his eyes. Eddie was standing over Richie, hands on his hips. Richie knew he should come up with some kind of funny remark but he was lost in Eddie’s eyes. Richie swore if you tried, you could see them sparkle like sugar in the light.
“Hellooooo. Earth to Trashmouth.” Eddie waved a hand in fron of Richie’s face. He shook his head to clear his thoughts and sat up. “Where’d you go?” Eddie asked, crooking his head curiously.
“Excuse me, my dear Edwardo. I must’ve zoned out thinking about your sweet mother in my bed last night.” Eddie groaned and shoved Richie for the second time that afternoon.
“Beep beep, Richie.”
“Anyway! What did you wanna show me?” Eddie got up and pulled out a grey box-of-sorts. He unclipped two sides that folded out and set it on the floor. Grinning at Richie excitedly, he exclaimed,
“I’ve got my very own battleship! Mama let me get it at a garage sale because it was so cheap.”
“Sweet!” Richie jumped up and went to kneel down at the game. “You’d better prepare yourself, Eds. I’m not used to losing.” Eddie grinned in response.
“Just you wait Tozier. When I’m done with you, you’ll be home with the angels.”
I’m holding on, and I don’t wanna let you go, woah
Richie held his grip tight as Eddie thrashed against him, water flying around them. Richie laughed at the way Eddie scrunched up his nose.
“You’re not getting out of this one, Eds!”
“Just you watch me, Tozier!” Eddie managed to free one wrist and turned to swim away, but Richie just reached out around him and pulled him into his chest. He could hear Bev’s snicker behind him, but he didn’t care. Eddie was huffing loudly but his muscles started to relax as he realized he wasn’t going to win this fight. Right smiled and tucked his head over Eddie’s shoulder.
“This isn’t so bad is it?” Richie cooed. He couldn’t admit it, but he loved the way Eddie felt him his arms. Eddie was small enough that Richie felt like he could wrap him all up in his gangling arms and legs. Plus, Eddie was always warm. Richie really liked that about him. Just as Richie was getting comfortable enough to dream about staying in that position forever, he received a swift kick to his legs.
“OW! Jesus, Eddie!” In his surprise, Richie let go of Eddie, who was able to swim away, hollering triumphantly.
“I told you I’d get out!” Riche couldn’t help the dreamy smile that painted his face as he rubbed his throbbing shin bone.
Yeah it feels like summer, yeah it feels like summer...
When s(he) was a lover to me
Eddie had fallen asleep next to Richie in the middle of the movie they were watching. He’d had a particularly stressful day with his mom, so Richie had invited him over for a chill afternoon.
They’d picked out snacks and a movie to rent at the local video store and been in Richie’s bedroom all afternoon. Looking, down at Eddie’s face now Richie felt an overwhelming sensation. His chest was warm and floaty and before he even knew it, the words slipped out of his mouth,
“I love you.” It was barely above a whisper, and Eddie didn’t stir from his sleep, but it scared Richie to admit. It made him think of the clown, but he shoved it down. He would not let that motherfucker ruin the way he felt about Eddie. Eddie was too special. He was loud and argumentative, but he was goofy and caring and gave off a warmth that made Richie feel like it was always summer when he was with him. Richie Tozier loved Eddie Kaspbrak, there was no doubt about it.
Which way is the graveyard? I’m an iceberg with a warm heart
I’m spiritual, not religious. I’m a libra, if it matters
Richie pulled a yelling Eddie behind him through the darkness.
“Richie! Where are we going?” Riche wound around a tree and held Eddie closely to his chest, quickly putting a hand over his mouth just in time to hear the jeering calls of Bowers in the distance, egging them to make themselves known.
After a few minutes, they heard an engine rev and a car speed off, and Richie released the breath he was holding. He gently took his hand off Eddie’s mouth.
“Sorry about that, Eds. I saw the headlights and just ran.” Eddie nodded.
“Don’t call me Eds.” He looked around slowly. “Why a graveyard, Richie? This place gives me the creeps.”
“If it scares you that much, you’re welcome to hold my hand, Eddie.” Richie teased.
“Yeah, no thanks, your hands are always freezing. It’s like holding onto ice.” Richie feigned hurt at Eddie’s response.
“You wound me, Edward!” Richie gripped his chest dramatically, “at least my heart is warm! Unlike your cold, stone one.” Richie glared at Eddie in faux-anger, who just rolled his eyes in response. There was a sudden snap of a twig and Eddie’s hand darted out to hold onto Richie’s forearm. His eyes began to widen and he pulled on Richie.
“C’mon, Rich, let’s go. I don’t wanna stay here any longer.”
“Why not, Eddie? Afraid the ghouls will get you?” Richie teased, but he moved anyway. He could make fun of Eddie all he wanted but he wasn’t so mean as to force him to stay somewhere that clearly bothered him.
“Beep beep, Richie. Do you even believe in ghosts?” Richie shrugged as they made their way into a familiar street, Eddie’s still pulling Richie forward by his arm.
“I guess I don’t know. I’m not very religious. I did recently find out that I’m a pisces, though.”
“What the fuck does that mean?”
“I have no idea.”
June bright, shine so bright
Flowers in (his) hair but it just ain’t right…
We look good together, aw yeah
The summer sun shone down on the losers club in mid-June. They were all dressed up and getting ready to take photos in the backyard of Bill’s parents house. The Derry high school had some unfortunate flooding right around the time that prom would normally happen, so it got pushed into the summer. As the rest of the losers were all getting ready to take some parentally-mandatory photos, Richie couldn’t stop messing with his tie.
“Why do these damn things have to be so tight?” Richie pulled on his tie again, finally getting it to loosen. He went to undo the top button of his shirt before he felt slender hands batting his away.
“Stop ruining your suit, Richie.” Eddie’s hands took the place of Richie’s as he carefully fixed his tie. Bill’s mom had set up a mirror against the house while she went to find her camera so they could do last minute touch ups. While Eddie was finishing up, some fluffs from a dandelion has blown into his hair. Before Richie could think to stop himself, he reached up delicately to pull them from the chocolate locks. Eddie’s hands stilled on Richie’s chest and he looked up into Richie’s eyes. There was that sparkle again.
“Sugar.” Richie whispered. Eddie’s eyebrows quirked.
“Huh?” Richie shook his head, finally tearing his eyes away from Eddie’s to make sure he’d gotten the last of the fluffs out of his hair.
“Oh, nothing, Eddie my boy.” Eddie nodded, retracting his hands from Richie’s chest. Richie tried to ignore how it felt heavier without Eddie’s hands on it. He turned Eddie around to face the mirror just so he could put his hands on some part of him.
“We look pretty good together, Eds.” He grinned at them into the mirror, slinging an arm over Eddie’s shoulders and pretending not to notice the blush on Eddie’s cheeks as he nodded.
“Yeah, I guess we do, Rich.”
Yeah it feels like summer
Yeah it feels like summer, when s(he) was a lover to me
The dry August hair pushed his way through Richie’s tousled curls as he stood on the curb next to his truck. It was packed full of all of suitcases and boxes, ready for his move out west. Maggie Tozier wouldn’t stop fussing, trying to make sure Richie had everything he could possibly need.
“Ma, it’s fine. We’ve checked and double-checked the list. If I really need anything I’ll call when I get there and you can mail it to me.” Maggie nodded tearfully before pulling Richie into a tight hug.
“I can’t believe my baby is all grown up!” She cried. “I love you so much, Richie.” Richie smiled and rubbing his mother’s back soothingly.
“I love you too, ma.” Just as he pulled back he saw a familiar shape over his mother’s shoulder. The rest of the losers had already left for their respected destinies but Eddie would be the last to go. Richie tried to ignore the prickle he felt at the corners of his eyes at the thought of not seeing Eddie tomorrow. Eddie made his way up to Richie somewhat slowly, hands in his pockets. He looked a little uneasy. Maggie went inside to do one last sweep of the house as Eddie finally made his way up to Richie.
“Spaghetti! You came to say goodbye!” Richie scooped Eddie up into his arms. Eddie didn’t have enough time to get his hands out of his pockets, so his arms were pinned to his sides. He laughed anyway before Riche put him down.
“Yeah, I figured I couldn’t let you leave without one more of these.” He reached up and punched Richie in the shoulder.
“Ouch, Edward! You wound me!” Richie held himself dramatically before grinning up at Eddie. Eddie couldn’t help but smile back. The only thought running through Riche’s brain was IloveyouIloveyouIloveyou. They fell into a small silence before Eddie broke it with a sad, scared voice.
“Do you really think we’re all going to forget each other?” He said so quietly Richie almost missed it. “Just like that?” Richie stiffened. The question he’d been avoiding asking himself for weeks. Before he thought about it too much and gave himself too much time to let the tears well up in his eyes, he pulled Eddie into another hug. He splayed his hands across Eddie’s back whose hands made their way up past Richie’s shoulders and into his hair.
“I don’t know how I could ever forget you, Eds.” He felt Eddie nod lightly and give a little sniffle.
“You know I love you, right, Rich?” Richie nodded fervently and cleared his throat before croaking out.
“Yeah, ‘course. Love you too, Eds. Love you most.” The pang in his chest flared as he heard his mother’s footsteps on the porch and he let Eddie go. He rubbed furiously at his eyes.
“Well, Richie. I guess you’re right. I couldn’t find anything else to that looked like you’d forgotten.” Richie looked up and plastered the widest grin he could muster on his face.
“Told ya, ma.” He glanced between Eddie and his mother before clapping his hands together.
“Well, it’s time for Trashmouth Tozier to hit the road! Won’t get rich and famous just standing here.” He forced himself to keep the grin on his face throughout the rest of the goodbye and only allowed the tears to finally stream down his cheeks when he could only see the faint outline of Eddie waving goodbye in the rear-view mirror.
Let me see the smile, stay with me a while
I cried for you, you were the song in my life
Richie scrambled over to Eddie’s frail body.
“No, no, no, no please no.” Richie’s voice broke into a sob and he held the love of his life tightly against his chest. He put his forehead against Eddie’s and another sob broke through his aching lungs. Eddie’s skin was so cold, too cold. He felt the same temperature on his cheek as Eddie’s hand made it into his hair like when they were kids.
“It’ll be okay, Rich.” Richie shook his head furiously.
“No, no it won’t.” He gripped Eddie tighter and added his hand atop of Eddie’s. Eddie feebly nodded to try and reassure him, but Richie just continued shaking his head.
“No. You have to stay with me, Eds. Okay? We’re gonna get you out of here and we’re gonna save you and everything is going to be just fine.” Eddie gave Richie a broken smile.
“Don’t call me Eds.” A broken laugh escaped Richie’s mouth at the ridiculousness of it all. He could hear the rest of his friends fighting the clown in the distance but he didn't care to help. The only thing he cared about was Eddie right here in his arms. He felt Eddie’s arm go limp but Richie only pressed the cold hand into his cheek harder.
“Please don’t leave me. Please.” He cried. Eddie took a labored breath.
“Rich, you know I... I..” and Richie felt the last breath leave his body. He couldn’t stop himself from watching the life leave Eddie’s eyes and Richie felt the world was crumble around him. He chest felt ripped open and raw as the sobs racked his body. He pulled Eddie’s limp body tight against his chest and pressed his lips to his ear.
“I love you, I love you. I love you, Eddie, please, please come back to me.” Richie never stopped trying to get Eddie to come back. Even when his friends peeled him off his body and dragged him out of the sewers. He cried and kicked and screamed. He felt like he was drowning. And he wanted to. He wanted to go back into the sewers and die with Eddie. So that just maybe they could be together that way. But he didn’t. Instead he cried and cried and he turned his back to the summer sun that refused to go away.
Didn’t the sun know how much it hurt Richie? How it reminded him of the memories he promised himself not to forget? The sun was too warm and Eddie’s hand on Richie’s cheek had been too cold. Richie wanted the sun to go away forever.
The next day the sun was still too much. The heat was harsh and biting against Richie’s back and he lightly traced the letters. R+E forever etched into the bridge and into his heart. Hot, heavy tears made their way out of Richie’s eyes again as he cursed sun and the summer and the wood under his fingers. The real warmth in his life had gone.
Yeah it feels like summer,
when he was a lover to me...

“Are you sure this is a good idea?” Richie asked, running a hand through his hair as they walked up the path towards Eddie’s front porch. It had taken a lot of convincing, but Eddie had finally managed to get Richie to agree to meet, and have dinner with his dad so he could introduce him as his boyfriend officially. “He’s a cop Eds…”
Eddie sighed and stopped them, turning around to face Richie as he bit down on his bottom lip, “If you’re still unsure we don’t need to do this, but I promise, my dad is not going to pull a gun out on you or anything. You’d have more chances of that happening if you met my mother.”
As the words left his lips, Eddie winced. He didn’t talk about his mother much, even though he was still in contact with her. When he was seven, his parents divorced and his dad was granted full custody after a tough court case. Eddie still spoke to his mother on occasion, like her birthday and christmas, but they weren’t very close.
Richie must have noticed the sad look on Eddie’s face, as he stepped into his personal space and took his face into his much larger hands, “Hey, baby, look at me,” he tilted Eddie’s head up so their eyes locked. “I’m sorry, I know how much this means to you. I know you’ve wanted me to meet your dad for a while, so I’m going to go into that house and prove to him that I’m the best person for his son to date.”
Eddie’s face broke out into a smile and he pushed up on his toes to press a kiss to Richie’s lips, soft and sweet, before he pulled away to lace their hands together. “Shall we?”
It was a bit of an odd pairing, Eddie and Richie. Richie was quite a popular guy amongst his peers thanks to his charisma and ability to crack a joke at anything. He also seemed to grow into his looks, making him one of the most attractive guys in his school year. Eddie on the other hand, liked to keep to himself, was very quiet and studied way too much. According to the social school hierarchy, the two of them should never have even mixed with one another, never mind date.
Yet it happened. Richie was having a little trouble with his algebra course and Eddie was passing the class with flying colours. This was in sophomore year and it became a routine of theirs to meet up in the library to study as well as pair up for projects whenever they could. It was in the middle of junior year, after being friends for a year, that Richie asked Eddie out on a date and Eddie had agreed with a flush on his cheeks. They had never looked back.
God, was Eddie in love with Richie. He was the best thing to ever happen to him, always right there by his side no matter what. They were a team, and even Richie’s closest friends seemed to warm up to Eddie pretty quickly. They were almost ready to graduate, the end of senior year just around the corner and Richie still hadn’t met Frank officially.
Slowly, Richie nodded his head at Eddie’s question and they made their way up the porch and into the house. The place was quiet, save from the noise coming from the television in the living room. Eddie kicked off his shoes and Richie followed suit, never letting go of his hand. Eddie had to stop himself from smiling at how clammy Richie’s hands were, his boyfriend was always the confident one so it was strange for the roles to be reversed.
“Dad, we’re home!” Eddie called, tugging Richie towards the living room. They stepped inside just as his dad stood up from the chair, a smile on his face. “Hey dad, good day?”
Frank nodded his head, pulling Eddie into a short hug, “Of course, most days are good days.” He grinned and then turned to Richie. “Richie, right? Eddie’s told me a lot about you. Glad to have you for dinner.” He held out a hand for Richie and he took it, entering a firm, yet welcoming handshake. “Take a seat, I’ve made lasagne so it should be ready any minute now.”
As his dad disappeared, Eddie turned to Richie with big eyes, “What did I tell you? That wasn’t so scary was it?” He asked and grinned as Richie shook his head.
“Looks like I need to listen to you a little more huh?” Richie asked, bashfully, rubbing the back of his neck. “Nice place, makes a change from us always being at my house, doesn’t it?”
Eddie raised an eyebrow, “Richie you’ve been in my room before.”
“Well yeah, but I’ve never seen the rest of your house! Richie scrambled, just as Frank walked back in with a smile to announce that dinner was ready.
They all made their way to the dinner table, where Frank had plated up the food and they took a seat. For the first few minutes there was nothing but silence as they ate, until Frank spoke up, smiling, “So Richie, do you have any plans for after school? College or anything?”
Eddie watched as Richie stared at his plate for a moment before looking up to address his dad, “I’m not sure to be honest, Mr Kaspbrak. As you probably know, my mother is a nurse and my dad is a dentist so my family are hoping I’ll go down that route, but I don’t really know, I think I might go into drama or something? Comedy maybe?”
Frank sat his fork and knife down and looked at Richie seriously, making Eddie a little nervous for the first time that evening. “Listen to me, no matter what jobs your parents do or what your family wants you to do, the only person that gets to make that decision is you.” He smiled then, “If you want to go into comedy or drama? Go into Comedy or drama. This is a choice that will set up your whole life, you might as well do something that makes you happy.”
“I-” Richie cleared his throat and for the first time that night, he smiled genuinely, “Thank you...you’re the first person, other than Eddie of course, that’s actually put my feelings into consideration. I love my parents, they are amazing, but I know that they sometimes don’t get me. It’s not their fault, of course, I am strange. Sometimes I wonder why everyone at school wants to be my friend.”
At that, Eddie turned his attention to Richie, placing a hand on his thigh, “Because you’re amazing and friendly, that’s why. You’re not fake, and everyone appreciates that.”
All three of them fell into a comfortable silence, and dinner was finished a few moments later. As Frank went to relax in the living room, Eddie and Richie focused on washing up and cleaning the kitchen. “Hey, Eds?” Richie whispered as he dried the plates, sitting them to the side. “I love you.”
Eddie looked up at Richie, a watery smile on his lips and he leaned over, pressing a light kiss to Richie’s mouth. “I love you too, so much.”
Richie went quiet and Eddie tilted his head to the side as he watched him, clearly in thought. Before he could ask if everything was okay, Richie turned back to him, eyes wide and hopeful. “I know that this might be kind of obvious, and I promise that I will ask you properly but...will you go to prom with me?”
“Richie…” Eddie breathed, drying his hands off on the towel before stepping closer to Richie, wrapping his arms around RIchie’s shoulder’s, pushing up on his toes. “You never even had to ask, but if it makes you happy, then yes. I will go to prom with you.”
With a grin, Richie wrapped his arms around Eddie’s waist, lifting him off the ground as he spun him around, extracting a giggle from Eddie’s lips. As he was set back on his feet, Richie ducked his head, bringing their lips together into a much deeper kiss, but not too deep as his dad was still in the next room. “Love you, Eds.”
Eddie beamed, “Love you too, Richie.”

Step Away (Teen!Richie Tozier x Teen!Kaspbrak!Reader)
Tumblr media
Plot: Richie is fucking both you and your brother Eddie, though he’s dating you and only fucked Eddie once. Eddie ended up telling you about it, and then you go to Richie’s a few day later and confront him about it.
Warnings: swearing, mentions and descriptions of sex + fighting w/ lots of yelling, bi!Richie, gay!Eddie, and mentions of cheating.
——————————————————————————
“But (Y/N), Richie is so good with his dick,” Eddie said nonchalantly, blushing as he saw the side eye you gave him after you looked up from the book you were reading. “Like, I didn’t expect him to be so good. I thought he was bluffing.” He scoffed and sat up on your bed, ruffling his hair to get it out of his eyes.
“Sounds great, Ed,” you whispered back, sighing as you felt tears burning your eyes as the threatened to fall down your face. “I’m getting kind of tired.” You sniffled softly, looking up to your twin brother who laid across your bed as you scrunched up by your pillow. He looked back at you, a gleam of sadness in his eyes that showed you that he wanted to tell you more, but instead, Eddie nodded sadly.
“I thought we were going to have a movie night while Mom’s gone for the month.” Ed furrowed his eyebrows at you as you shrugged.
“We’ll...we’ll do one tomorrow, okay? I just, I’m just really tired,” you confessed. “I’m sorry.”
He smiled at you and shook his head, waving his hand in a way that told you to dismiss your apology.
“It’s okay,” Eddie replied, getting up and giving you a hug. “Goodnight. Love you.”
“Love you too, Eds.” You watched him leave the room, shutting the door behind him with a soft click.
You brought your knees up to your chest, feeling the tears you had been holding back run down your face in a silent heat. You were going to kill Richie the next time you saw him.
—————————-
You marched up to the front door of the Tozier residence, knocking more urgently than usual but not so hard you alarmed his parents. Mrs. Tozier opened the door, greeting you with a soft smile and a hug. You and Richie had been together for a few months, and she became your “sane mother”, as she put it. She let you in the house, and you waved at Mr. Tozier who you could see was doing the crosswords in the newspaper in the dining room to the right of you.
“He’s just up in his room,” Maggie said, pointing up to the top of the steps. “Would you like to stay for dinner? It should be ready any minute.”
You thought for a second. Eddie was at Stan’s for dinner tonight, so you would’ve been alone anyway. You nodded with a smile.
“I’d love to join you guys,” you replied. “Thank you very much, Mrs. Tozier.”
She kissed the top of your head before walking back into the kitchen through the dining room. You walked up the creaky wooden steps, taking a right turn deeper into the upstairs. You knocked on the door softly and turned the knob when you heard a soft “come in.” Richie saw you and smiled, coming over to wrap you in his arms. You avoided him, scooting to the side quickly. He looked at you confused, and you walked around him to sit at his desk.
“Hello to you, too,” Richie murmured sassily. “What’s got your panties in a bunch? Are you horny?” He raised his eyebrows up and down while you scoffed.
“You should know what my fucking problem is,” you snapped, shrugging your shoulders and folding your arms.
“What the fuck does that mean?” Richie practically yelled back. There was a bite in his voice, one you’d never heard.
You were about to answer when his mom yelled up the stairs that it was time for dinner. You stood up first, going down with Richie hot on your tail. When you guys sat down at the table, Maggie looked at you with what seemed to be remorse.
“I completely forgot to offer up the telephone so that you could call Sonia and tell her where you were here,” she admitted, a hint of nervousness in her voice. “I know how she gets.” You shook your head, taking your knife and fork and cutting the lasagna on your plate.
“Don’t worry about it. She isn’t home anyways. She left Eddie and I for the month so that she could visit family in Augusta.” You sighed, putting a piece of food in your mouth and chewing it throughly. “And Eds is at Stanley’s tonight anyway. He went to go help him work on his car I think. So I would’ve been alone. It’s all much appreciated.” Maggie smiled at you, and then looked over at Richie who snickered.
“You okay, Rich?” Went asked, reading his wife’s mind.
“Yeah. It’s just that I don’t think Eddie is at Stanley’s. I saw him at Keene’s a little over an hour ago.” Richie shrugged his shoulders as he finished his prattle.
“Well, he had work today, too. He’s been working a lot lately,” you said spitefully, continuing to eat your food as the table went silent.
You took a sip of your water and eventually finished up your food, thanking Maggie again as you and Richie retreated back up to his room. When you were both in, he shut the door and sat across from you on his bed. He tried to reach for your hand, but you pulled away.
“Baby, what’s going-“ You slammer your hand against the bed, a soft thump coming from the motion.
“Don’t fucking call me ‘baby.’” You stood up angrily, pacing before looking back at the dumbfounded boy who sat in front of you. “Fucking my brother, Richie?! Behind my back?! When we’ve been dating for months!”
Richie’s eyes went wide, and he cursed at himself internally. He didn’t mean for it to happen, but when Eddie slept over the other night, one thing lead to another, and suddenly, Eddie had Richie’s dick in his mouth and was begging for him to fuck him. You saw the way Richie’s demeanor changed and you smirked bitterly, emitting a huff from your nose.
“Did you think I wouldn’t find out?” you said loudly through gritted teeth. hoping his parents didn’t hear you. “He’s my brother, Rich. My twin brother, for that matter.” You felt tears welling up and falling down your face.
“I-it was an accident, (Y/N)!” Richie stood up, trying to grab your hands as you flailed them to avoid him. Eventually, he pinned them at your sides, causing you too look at him. “One thing led to another, and before I knew it, we were naked laying in my bed. I want you, not Eddie.”
You shook your head, looking him directly in his eyes with malice coursing through your veins. “You can’t accidentally do anal with my brother. That makes you sound like an idiot. Honestly, you are one, but not that idiotic. We’ve been together for months, Richie. Why would you do this to me?”
You yanked yourself out of his grasp and walked over to look out his window. It was starting to get dark, and you checked your watch, seeing that it was almost 8 o’clock. You shook your head and turned back to Richie.
“Him or me,” you yelled. “It’s either you keep fucking him or you keep me. You can’t have both. I’m not gonna give you all the cutesy sides of dating when he gets to fuck you.”
Richie stammered as he looked at you, his mouth opening and closing like a cod fish. You nodded your head, grabbing the sweater you had discarded on his bed when you walked in. You stormed out of his room, and his heavy footsteps followed you.
“(Y/N), come on,” he begged, trying to walk next to you on the stairs, but you just moved faster. “Baby!” You ignored him, peeking your head into the living room to say another thank you and a goodbye to the Toziers. They watched as Richie followed you outside, and they shared a knowing look.
“Stop fucking following me,” you screamed, scaring him into silence. “You had the audacity to tell me you loved me, you told me you fucking loved me Richie, and then you go and have sex with my brother.”
The streetlights were starting to turn on, and you knew you were probably disturbing family dinners or the people that were on their late night walks with their dogs or kids, but you didn’t care. Richie was a scumbag.
“I fucking told you that I wanted you,” he screamed back, his voice cracking. “I fucking told love you and I still do. What happened between Eddie and I was a mistake, I’ll admit it, but with you it’s so much more.” He wiped tears off of his cheeks as he jabbed a finger at you. “I love you. You’re my everything. Fucking Eddie was wrong, and I regret it. Deeply.”
“Eddie doesn’t,” you answered, your voice had dropped to a scary volume, slightly above a whisper. “He wouldn’t stop going on and on about how good you felt when he was telling me about it. And I’m all for Eddie figuring himself out, believe me, but not with my boyfriend, Rich. I love you, too, but I can’t be with you if you’re gonna fuck other people.”
Richie’s heart sank even further into his chest, and his breathing picked up. “Don’t break up with me. Please.”
He walked closer to you, testing the waters as he reached out for you. He wrapped his arms around your waist, and you let him but fought the urge to hug him back. Richie was crying into your shoulder, leaving small kisses on the junction where your neck connected with your shoulder.
“Please,” he whispered. You felt his hot years on your skin, and you couldn’t help but hug him back. “Please don’t leave me.”
“I won’t,” you sighed out. “But, you’re going to tell Eddie you’re done with him and tell him it didn’t mean a thing. We’re going to come clean about us being together to everyone, even your parents.” You pushed him away from you so you could look him in the eyes. “And don’t think I’m going to forget about all of this. We’re going to take a break, I don’t know how long, but I need time to think on this.”
“Eddie is gonna be so pissed at me,” Richie mumbled to himself, gripping your waist tighter. “He’d kill me for breaking your heart and then resurrect me to kill me again for breaking his.” You shrugged, bringing your hand up to tuck a strand of the mess of curls that sat on top of his head behind his ear.
“You did this to yourself,” you softly responded, pulling away fully. “You’re going to tell him in person, too. None of that pussy bullshit.” He nodded, looking down at his feet as he sniffled.
“And when I do it?” he asked, hoping he’d get the answer he wanted. All Richie wanted was for you to be his.
“You’ll wait until I say we can get back together.” That wasn’t the answer he was looking for. “You hurt me. I need time to heal.”
“What if when you heal, you don’t love me anymore?” he whispered, a new string of tears falling down his face. “What if you forget about me?”
“I’ve been in love with you since we were 12, asshat,” you replied. “I’m not just going to stop so suddenly.”
“I’ll tell Eds this weekend,” Richie said, biting his lip. “And then I’ll call you. After that, you’ll get your space.” Richie went to reach up and cup your cheek, but you shook your head ‘no.’
“Don’t make it even harder,” you whimpered, tears steaming down your face as you started to retreat down the sidewalk back home. “Thank you. I’ll see you, Rich. I love you, seriously. I really do.”
He sniffled and nodded, watching as you made it halfway to the sidewalk before he yelled back at you. “I’m so fucking in love with you, it’s going to kill me!”
You shook your head, looking back over your shoulder, to see him standing with his hand tucked into the pockets of his zip up hoodie and a huge grin on his face. You smiled back softly, the love you held for him running through your head.

“Good to know I’m not the only reason behind your frown lines.”
Richie leaned against the doorframe of Eddie’s office, watching him scowl at his computer. His husband looked up, ready to lash out at whoever was interrupting him but his expression softened when he saw Richie.
“Hey Rich. What are you doing here?”
“Well, I had that meeting with the dudes from Netflix and I thought I’d stop by and pay my adorable husband a visit.” He said, stepping into the office and closing the door behind him. “I even brought you lunch.” He held up a paper bag with Eddie’s favorite restaurant logo.
A soft smile curled along Eddie’s lips. “You didn’t have to do that.”
Richie shrugged, walking towards the desk and leaning over it to give Eddie a kiss. “You told me you’d have a busy day and usually when that happens, you forget to eat.“
Eddie’s stomach grumbled in that moment. “Fuck, you’re right.”
Richie gave him the bag and Eddie pulled out his (gluten-free) pasta tossed with roasted vegetables and (dairy-free, soy-free) parmesan, giving Richie a grateful smile before digging in. Richie perched up on his desk, telling Eddie all about his meeting while he ate.
Once the food was gone, Eddie went back to glaring at his computer while angrily typing an email, shoulders hunched and tight in a way that seemed uncomfortable and unhealthy.
Richie jumped down from the desk, moving to stand behind Eddie’s chair.
“What are you doing?”
“You need to relax, Eds.” Richie said, brushing his fingers over Eddie’s shoulders. “My back hurts just from looking at you.”
“Your back hurts because you’re old.” Eddie snorted, eyes glued to the computer.
“Spaghetti gets off a good one!” He laughed. “But I’m serious, you need a short break.”
“Rich, I can’t.”
“But Eds, how can I find my poor husband so terribly stressed and leave him like that?”
Eddie hummed distractedly until Richie started rubbing his shoulders, kneading the stiff muscles, causing him to groan in pleasure.
“Oh.” Eddie’s hands fell to his lap as he relaxed back against his chair. “Okay, maybe I can take a minute.”
Richie chuckled, applying more pressure while Eddie let out soft sighs. Making a bold decision, his hands moved on to Eddie’s chest, trailing down his front, careful not to mess up his shirt and tie.
Eddie didn’t make a big effort to push Richie’s hands away until they started playing with his belt. When they did he yelped, whirling around in his chair to push a sharp finger against his chest. “What do you think you’re doing?”
“I’m just helping you relax, baby.” Richie said, leaning on the armrests and slowly peppering the skin of Eddie’s neck with little, urgent kisses.
“Richie, we can’t.” Eddie said, but he tilted his head back, granting Richie more access. “Seriously. There’s people here⎯ I have a meeting in twenty minutes!”
Richie bit down on Eddie’s earlobe, whispering against his ear. “Then I better hurry up.” He flashed him a cocky grin before dropping to his knees in front of him.
Eddie cursed under his breath when Richie palmed him over his slacks, feeling how his dick was already half hard. “Shit Eds, I haven’t even done anything.” Richie gasped, watching Eddie thrust his hips against his hand.
“Shut up.” Eddie muttered, starting to blush.
He reached down to undo his belt but Richie clicked his tongue, slapping the hand away and doing it himself. "I got this baby, just sit back and relax.”
Richie stroke him over his briefs, seeing a wet spot start to form where he was steadily leaking precome. He couldn’t resist leaning forward and giving it a few kitten licks, causing Eddie to whine and grip the armrests.
“Rich, we don’t have a lot of time.” Eddie muttered, voice strained and needy. “Stop teasing me.”
Richie would love to keep teasing him, he could do it for hours, but the last thing he wanted was for them to get caught before he could make Eddie come.
“You’re right.” Richie said, hand slipping inside Eddie’s briefs and pulling his cock out. “Fuck, you’re so hard already.”
Eddie bit his bottom lip trying to keep from crying out as Richie’s hand moved slowly over him. “Richie, please.”
He smirked. “Okay, okay. Let’s see how quickly can you come.” And with that, he took Eddie in his mouth, earning a choked moan from him.
Richie had to reach down to adjust himself in his jeans. He was hard just from watching Eddie, and having his dick in his mouth only made him harder. He sucked him off in earnest, doing everything Eddie liked to bring him to the edge.
“Fuck, oh fuck.” Eddie groaned as Richie teased at the slit with his tongue, before taking him as deep as he could. Eddie weaved his hand through his hair. “I’m close, Richie.”
Richie pulled back, a string of saliva connecting him to Eddie’s dick, Eddie reached down to run his thumb over his wet lips with a hungry look.
“I got you, Eds.” He said, playfully biting Eddie’s thumb before his mouth returned to his dick. Eddie was biting his lip, trying very hard to stay quiet as Richie picked up the pace until his chest was heaving and his eyes were screwed shut and he was desperate to come. Richie could tell he only needed one last push so he slid his hand down to cup and play with Eddie’s balls.
“Fuck Richie, oh fuck.” Eddie moaned, fingers tightening in Richie’s hair as his orgasm hit. His mouth stayed on him until he’d swallowed everything and Eddie had relaxed back against his chair.
Richie wiped his mouth with the back of his hand, sitting back on his heels to stare at his husband. His head was thrown back, an arm slung over his eyes and a dark flush spreading from the tips of his ears all the way down to his chest. He looked sinful, sitting there with his dick out, spent and glistening with spit⎯ Richie was sure that if he reached into his own jeans in that moment, he would come after one single stroke.
“Stop staring at me, you perv.” Eddie said, opening one eye to peer down at Richie. He had a lazy, satisfied grin on his face and his eyes were shining with affection.
“Who are you calling perv? You’re the one who let me suck you off in your office.”
Eddie wrinkled his nose, glancing down at himself like he only realized that now. “Can you get me some tissues from the first cabinet?"
Richie nodded, crawling towards the desk and retrieving the tissues. Eddie cleaned himself off and tucked himself back in his pants.
When Richie stood up he hissed, feeling the fabric of his jeans drag against his erection.
Eddie’s eyes darted to Richie’s crotch. "Do you want help with that?”
Richie really wanted to take Eddie up on the offer but it was probably not a good idea to push their luck, especially since he knew that he would be way too loud if Eddie did as much as touch his cock.
“Don’t worry babe, you can return the favor when you get home.” He said with a wink. “Besides, I’d probably blow my load the moment you touch my dick and I doubt you’d appreciate a come stain on your suit."
Eddie snorted, he looked a lot more relaxed than before and it made a pleased smile appear on Richie’s face.
"I’ll make it up to you.” Eddie said, wrapping his arms around Richie’s waist. “Thank you for bringing me lunch. And⎯ for the other thing.”
“Anytime, Eds."
Richie wanted to lean down and kiss him, but he knew that Eddie would scrunch up his nose and whine about Richie not brushing his teeth first, so instead he pressed his lips to his forehead. Eddie hummed happily, his hands squeezing Richie’s sides.
In that moment the door opened and Tara, Eddie’s secretary, popped her head in.
"Mr. Kaspbrak, they’re waiting for you.” She said before she noticed that Eddie wasn’t alone. She gave them an apologetic smile. “Oh. I thought your husband left already, I’m sorry."
Eddie gave Tara a strained smile. "He was just leaving.” He said. “I’ll be there in a minute.”
She nodded and slipped outside, closing the door.
“Before you say anything⎯”
“You didn’t lock the fucking door?!” Eddie whispered yelled, slapping Richie’s chest with a horrified expression.
“Ow! I’m sorry, I thought I did.” Richie said, holding his hands up in defense.
Eddie pinched the bridge of his nose. “You’re lucky I love you."
"I am.” Richie nodded, grinning. “Very lucky."
A soft smile curled along Eddie’s lips, he tried to hide it from Richie by pushing him towards the door. "Go, now. I have a meeting. I’ll see you at home.”
Richie ducked his head down to press a kiss on his cheek but before he could, Eddie was tilting his head so their lips slotted together instead, taking Richie by surprise. Especially when Eddie’s hand snuck between them to squeeze Richie’s dick through his jeans.
Richie’s eyes widened and he moaned against Eddie’s mouth, dick growing hard again. “What the fuck, Eddie?"
"That’s for almost getting us caught.” Eddie said, pulling back and flashing Richie a playful smirk. “Enjoy the walk home, Rich."
"You little devil.”
Eddie simply shoved him out of his office, waving playfully at him as he closed the door.
Still facing the door, Richie took a moment to adjust himself, swallowing a groan at the touch. Then he turned around, giving Tara a shaky smile on his way to the elevator.
And if Tara noticed that he was walking a bit funny, she was kind enough not to mention it.

IT CHAPTER 2 SPOILERS
Tumblr media
Being in the town of Derry felt more surreal than anything. It didn’t seem real, actually being in the town your father grew up in. Richie didn’t talk about Derry, in fact, he never once mentioned his childhood. In the fifteen years you’d been alive, not once was Derry mentioned. The first time it had ever been mentioned had been the night he came home and started packing.
***
It hadn’t been that long since you’d gone to bed, 1:30 am most likely. Usually, you went to bed earlier, maybe 10 pm or 11 pm, but on nights when Richie had a show, it would be hours till you went to bed.
It was a tradition for you to watch every one of your dad’s stand up shows, and hope that some of the jokes you had written made it in. Richie made it his mission to have at least one of your own jokes in his set.
Tonight, he had included three of yours, which all went down well after his hiccup at the start. One of yours got the biggest laugh, and you could see Richie’s proud face through the screen.
You switched off the TV after the show ended, and as usual, crashed on the couch. When Richie got home, he usually carried you back to your room, but that night, he made no move to pick you up, pacing around their rather large home instead.
“Dad? What’s going on?” You wiped the sleep from your eyes, as Richie thundered around the house. It was around 2 am, a regular time for Richie to come home after a show, but usually, he tried to be quiet to let you sleep. Tonight was not one of those nights.
“Oh, sweetheart, I’m sorry, I tried to be quiet, I did. I jus-”
The empty suitcase in his hand rang some quiet alarms.
“Dad? Where are you going?”
“Home. I have to go home.”
“Take me with you.”
Richie thought it over. He couldn’t in good faith leave you home alone for as long as he would be gone. Surely you’d be fine if you did what he said. After all, he promised you all those years ago, when one of his late-night flings left a baby girl on his doorstep, that he would be the best damn father around.
“Only if you promise to not leave my sight.”
You held up your crossed fingers and crossed those fingers over your heart.
“Right well, get packing, sweetie. We leave as soon as we’re done.”
***
The drive to Derry was a combination of obnoxiously singing along to the radio and you catching up on some sleep. The sign welcoming you to Derry sent a shiver down your spine, not going unnoticed by Richie.
“You okay, sweetheart?”
“W-what? Oh! Yeah, yeah I’m good.”
He didn’t believe you but didn’t bring it up again.
The car pulled into the parking lot of the Jade of the Orient, a Chinese restaurant. Your dad seemed almost shocked by its presence. Clearly, this wasn’t in Derry when he was a kid. Richie spotted two other people off to the side and seemed to recognize them.
“Big Ben? Bev?” You trailed behind him, a few meters behind, somewhat out of sight.
“Richie?” The woman asked, not noticing you as you peered at the two adults. The taller male made direct eye contact with you, a confused expression forming. You stepped closer, not caring if they saw you at this point.
“Uh, Richie, you seem to have a fan.” ‘Big Ben’ said, gesturing behind him. Richie whipped around, only to be met with you smiling awkwardly at him.
“Oh, no, actually this is my daughter, Y/N.”
The pair had extremely shocked faces. You felt a bit more offended than you should have at that comment. The pair seemed to notice but didn’t backtrack on their comments.
“I’m Beverly, it’s lovely to meet you.” Beverly held out a hand for you to shake, which you took happily. Ben simply greeted you with a smile.
“Well, let’s go meet everyone else. I wanna see how they react to Y/N.”
The whole vibe of the restaurant felt normal until you stepped into the reserved room for what you had heard was called “The Losers Club”. Your dad, being your dad, hit the gong on his way in, causing three heads to snap towards where the four of you were standing.
The three pairs of eyes stared at Richie, Ben and Beverly, before instantly snapping to you. Their expressions were similar to Ben and Beverly’s.
“Richie, Ben, Beverly.” One of the men at the table stated, trailing off as he looked at you again.
“Right, I’m starving. Let’s eat.” Richie cheered, and everyone else just accepted that Richie was not doing what they expected. And for some reason, they felt like that was what they expected.
“Hey, Rich, would you mind explaining who that is?” Another man asked, nodding in your direction.
“Oh! Right, this is my daughter.” The three men who weren’t Ben and Bev all dropped their jaws.
“It’s lovely to meet you all, I’m Y/N.” You smiled, feeling less nervous as they smiled back. Going around the table, they all introduced themselves as Mike Hanlon, Bill Denbrough and Eddie Kaspbrak.
You immediately noticed a strong bond between all of them, even if they had only reconnected less than an hour ago. It was a similar bond that you and your father had; family.
You also noticed a different bond between Richie and Eddie. It wasn’t news to you that your father wasn’t straight. And this Eddie man, no offence to anyone, did not give off straight vibes.
It was strange, how well you felt you fit in with the group of forty-year-olds. You and Eddie found many a common interest, including joking around and teasing Richie. The more Richie remembered, the more he realised that you were basically a baby Eddie, save for the hypochondriac-ness.
It brought a smile to his face as he watched the two of you mucking about like toddlers from beside him.
Dinner continued on, and eventually, one of the waitresses brought out a bowl of fortune cookies. Everyone eagerly took one, cracking them open.
“Huh, mine just says ‘Could’. These cookies are bullshit.”
You looked at your slip of paper, and something about the words written caused that shiver to once again run down your spine.
Welcome to Derry, Y/N! Why don’t you stay forever?
Your hands were shaking, quite violently. Richie glanced over at you and immediately rushed to your side. He took the paper, reading it quickly before ripping it up. He hugged you tightly, comforting you like he would when you would get nightmares.
“You’re alright, sweetheart, you’re gonna be alright.”
***
You felt guilty, honestly. Richie had made you promise to stay in the hotel, not to set foot outside, but you didn’t listen. After finding yourself in a brand new town, so much different from your hometown, writing new material for your dad seemed bland.
Exploring the place your dad grew up in seemed way more fun. Plus, it was a small town, what could really go wrong?
In your journey to the centre of town, the only thing that went wrong was the kid who almost ran you over with his skateboard. Aside from that, you were yet to run into the other adults or anyone for that matter. The Canal Days fair was drawing in quite the crowd.
Turning the corner, you froze.
Something about the abandoned cinema in the middle of the town drew you in. It ran in Tozier blood to love the movies. Finding a hole through the newspaper, you pushed the door open. It was incredibly dusty, and you felt your throat constricting. Eddie had warned you earlier about how gross this town could be.
The hallway that led to the cinema was lit up, and the smell of popcorn was on the verge of overpowering all your senses. Something told you to run, walk, do anything in the opposite direction. But your body wasn’t listening, and you found yourself in the screening room in no time.
The screening room seemed harmless, but nothing in this town really was. You turned to leave when the sound of a projector turning on echoed through the empty room. Turning around slowly, every bone in your body trembling, you were met with the blinding white glow of the screen.
Your eyes locked with the harmless, yet frightening screen, panic settling in.
The white screen wrinkled, and two beady yellow eyes opened. A scream latched itself in your throat, unable to escape through your dust infected lungs.
“Well, well, welcome to Derry, little Miss Tozier.” The face shrunk, smaller and smaller, and became a clown. At this moment, you wished your feet would just move, but alas, you remained glued to the spot.
The clown’s glowing eyes pierced your soul and reached out a gloved hand, grabbing the screen. The screen began to tear. The scream you were holding in escaped, causing the clown to laugh. Once the screen was entirely gone, the clown made his way towards you, leaping over the seats.
Your feet, much to your dismay, remained glued to the ground. This wasn’t happening. This wasn’t real. You would pinch yourself, open your eyes, and be back at home, watching some crappy movie and bullying it to death with your dad.
It wasn’t working. No matter how hard you pinched, no matter how many times you whispered that “it wasn’t real”, you kept opening your eyes to see that fucking clown.
Your entire body was shaking, all senses except sight seemed to disappear. The clown was only two rows away. One row away. Here.
A gloved hand clamped around your neck, your already constricted throat growing tighter. The clown smiled, never breaking eye contact. Drool dripped from his mouth, as he growled lowly. His face contorted, turning into Richie.
“You’re useless. A burden. I should’ve left you on that fucking doorstep. You’ve done nothing but hold me back. I never even wanted a child. Your mother was a drunk mistake, and so are you. I might as well leave you here to die.”
Tears rolled down your cheeks. No, your dad would never… Is that really what he thought? Had he spent fifteen years blaming you in secret? No, no, he promised that he loved you. He swore on his life that you were his everything.
Maybe it was true… after all, would any gay man want to live with and raise a reflection of someone who he never wanted to be with?  No. You had to push the thundering thoughts aside. No.
“N-no.” Your voice was weak, only just loud enough to hear. “Richie” tilted his head, a sad expression on his face. His skin was reverting to the pasty white of the clown.
“No? Poor Y/N doesn’t want to accept that no one truly loves or wants her. Not even her own father.”
“Y-you’re not r-r-real. You c-c-c-can’t be real.” Words struggled to form, and those that did struggled to escape. The clown dropped his Richie facade and in a terrifying turn of events, smiled at you.
His grip continued to tighten, and you could see black dots forming in your vision. The sensation of trickling blood set your mind ablaze. You didn’t know where it was coming from, but it was there, and the clown was the cause.
In your last seconds of consciousness, you heard the thundering sets of footsteps coming down the hall, but the clown had sensed them first. You felt like the world was spinning before everything faded to black, your father’s panicked, fearful face the last thing you saw.
***
“Fuck, shit, shit, fuck!” The five other losers sat, heads hanging as Richie stormed around the building. They didn’t know what to do. Who would, in this situation? Bill was the only one who was close to understanding what Richie was experiencing.
“I’m a terrible father.” His pacing stopped as his knees gave out, collapsing onto Eddie, who caught him with ease. He held Richie tightly, letting him sob into his shoulder.
In the minutes since Richie had been too late, he was already struggling to come to terms with the gap of silence where you used to stand. It wasn’t right. It was unnatural, unheard of,  unorthodox.
He couldn’t speak, the wave of guilt and despair pulling him out to sea.
“Richie, I wholeheartedly promise you that you are the best damn father ever. We are all going to get Y/N back, and we will stop at nothing until we do.”
Richie wrapped his arms around Eddie, and one by one the losers joined in. Y/N Tozier was a loser now. And losers never left a loser behind.
***
The sewers were cold, wet and extremely uncomfortable. It was impossible to tell how long you’d been stuck here, but you did know that you’d walked through what felt like thousands of tunnels. You just wanted your dad back.
You couldn’t shake the tiredness that weighed you down. Closing your eyes wasn’t an option. You couldn’t let your guard down, not for a second, unless dying at the hands of a killer clown was on your bucket list.
The clown hadn’t shown his face since he took you. Part of you felt relieved, you didn’t have to fear for your life yet. But God knows what he was doing on the surface. You could only hope and pray that your father and his friends were okay.
Tears cascaded down your cheeks as thoughts of your dad filled your mind. All you wanted was to be held in his arms again. Your dad was your everything, and you were his. This was most likely the longest you’d been away from each other.
You threw a small pebble up and down, catching it over and over again. Your trajectory was off on one throw, and it bounced and rolled its way over to the wall. Building up some courage, you scampered over to where the rock was, but your mad dash back to the “safety hole” was cut short by an echo.
“Come one, we gotta squeeze through that hole. We can all make it through if we try hard enough.”
That was Mike’s voice. They had come to save you. Somehow, no matter how far below Derry you were, they found you. You ran to where Mike’s voice was coming from, tripping over the smaller spikes on the ground.
“M-M-Mike!”
Said man’s jaw dropped and he ran towards you, and you grasped onto his jacket. Having a physical being to cling onto was calming. As you stood there, clinging to Mike for dear life, more people came through the small gap, the first being Beverly. She ran to you too, her hug even tighter than Mikes. She was the only loser who knew exactly what you had just experienced.
As Bill and Ben appeared, you could barely see them from between Mike and Bev’s arms. But they were there, and they were real and they were everything you needed right now.
“Y-you found m-m-me!” Bill looked at you surprised as you stuttered over your words. Your stutter wasn’t simply a stutter of fear, it was like his. He knew the causes of a stutter very well. And looking at the causes, he could cross out genetics and prayed he could cross out a brain disorder. Which left emotional trauma. Psychogenic stuttering.
As you remained surrounded by the four losers, quiet bickering drifted into the cavern.
The four stepped aside as Eddie and Richie came through the hole. Eddie froze, his dropped jaw widening to a smile while Richie remained frozen. There you were, alive, seemingly unharmed, surrounded by all his closest friends.
“Y/N. Holy fucking shit, Y/N!” Eddie exclaimed, hugging the girl close to him. They had only known each other for a few days, but they were already extremely close.
Richie still hadn’t moved, so Y/N and Eddie took the first step, sending Richie into a crazed sprint as he ran to hold his daughter again. Tears blurred everyone’s vision as father and daughter reunited.
If Richie had an option, he would have chosen to never let his precious baby go.
“Richie. We have to perform the ritual. It's now or never.”
***
The Ritual of Chüd didn’t work. Mike hadn’t been telling the whole truth. And also, a spider-legged demon clown was chasing and tormenting the Losers Club.
Each loser had run off in different directions, Richie and Eddie both pulling you with them as your eyes lay transfixed on the evil entity. The sewer’s tunnels were long, windy and tight at some areas. They seemed never-ending.
Until you came to a sudden stop.
Standing in front of the three doors, Richie, Eddie and yourself contemplated what to do. In this sort of situation, nothing was to be trusted. Flinging open the ‘Very Scary’ door, you all found an empty closet.
“O-oh. Well, this s-s-s-seems harmless eno- oh what the f-f-fuck?” You screamed as a pair of disembodied legs ran towards you. Richie pulled you behind him as he slammed the door shut.
The next door they opened read ‘Not Scary At All’ and at this point you were highly doubting that. From behind your barrier of Eddie and Richie, you could see a small dog staring at you all. It also seemed harmless at first, so you waited for it to fuck around and scare the shit out of you.
“Aww, it’s actually kinda cute.” Eddie cooed, leaving you a tad confused. Richie seemed to agree, telling the dog to sit, which it did.
“Aw, that’s precious.”
The dog twisted into a beastly creature, which was truly inevitable, wasn’t it? Your father and Eddie screamed as if they hadn’t been expecting any of this. The door slammed shut, and you quickly found yourself running out of the cave, back to where this whole mess started.
As you stepped foot into the cavern, bright lights drew you in, and you couldn’t feel anything. You were numb to the world around you. The screams of your father were nothing but faint echoes.
You could feel yourself succumbing to the lights. You let them decide your fate. This was how it all ended.
Until the lights disappeared, and you came crashing into Richie. You blinked slowly, adjusting to the darkness once more. Richie cradled you to his chest as Eddie stood off to the side, amazed at what he had just done.
IT lunged a clawed limb at the Eddie, but he ducked in time for IT to get trapped in the rock walls. It was a chance to escape.
On your feet once more, you ran to meet all the losers. Clambering through the hole once more, you used the time to think of a plan.
“We n-n-need to bring IT d-down to size. If w-w-we can lure IT in, IT’ll h-h-h-have to shrink to f-fit through that h-h-h-hole.” You muttered, mainly to yourself, as you contemplated your options.
“That just might work,” Bill announced, bringing you out of your daze. “But I don’t think we have to lure IT out here…”
Bill had a plan.
Crawling through another entrance, you mentally cursed yourself for coming back to this hellhole. Bill stood before the clown, who loomed over you all.
“You’re just a clown.”
Physical pain flashed across IT’s face.
“A clown!”
“You’re a sloppy bitch!”
“You’re nothing!”
The clown’s spider legs weakened, collapsing slightly. The insults continued being thrown, and IT continuously grew weaker. As IT staggered backwards into the centre spikes, IT grabbed the smallest loser, pulling her towards itself.
You fought against IT’s arm, yet somehow still found yourself powerless. Even now, IT was too strong for you.
“Put me d-down. You’re just a clown. Just a motherf-f-fucking clown!”
With a final punch to the clown’s stupid red nose, IT let you go, deflating into an ugly baby-looking creature. You ran to Richie and Eddie, the pair making another protective barrier around you.
You all moved towards IT, and Beverly kneeled down beside IT. IT’s expression was pure fear.
The beautiful irony of it all.
She reached into IT, yanking out a rotten, yet beating heart. Each loser placed a hand on the heart, and IT seemed to be begging for mercy. For forgiveness.
You all squeezed the heart, crushing it and watching the life drain from the monster that had tormented Derry for millions of years.
IT had been defeated for good.
***
Driving away from Derry was therapeutic. It was a breath of fresh air. For the first time in far too long, you felt safe.
On your way out, Richie pulled over on the bridge and got out. Walking over to the wooden rails, you followed behind him, not noticing the other car pulling up too. Richie traced a pair of letters on the wood.
“R + E.” You murmured, much louder than intended. Your dad spun around, catching you just in time to make the connection. His eyes drifted behind you, to the man standing beside his car.
“It was a-a-always you and E-Eddie, huh?”
You kneeled beside him, hugging him tightly. You knew how long it took your dad to accept who he was, so seeing him recarving the faded ‘E’ into the wood, with ‘E’ standing not so far behind meant the world to you.
“Can you just go kiss h-him, for god’s s-s-sake?” You whispered into his side, making him laugh.
“I just might, so you better close your eyes.” He covered your eyes with his hands, making you laugh loudly.
“And miss s-s-seeing my dad happier than e-ever? I could never.”
His smile held so much love and appreciation for the beautiful girl he had raised that people all across the USA could feel it.
***
“Dad! These are our s-seats.”
Your dad followed behind, making sure you were reading the right part of the tickets.
“Yep, these are them.”
You sat down first, leg bouncing in anticipation. You had wanted to see this live for years and finally, you could get into the show, with adult supervision.
“It s-starts in three m-minutes!”
If it weren’t for the sheer fanciness of this building, you’d be bouncing off the walls in excitement.
Three minutes passed quickly, and the announcement was made that the show was starting. You stared at the stage, a huge smile on your face.
He walked out on stage, and the applause was thunderous, but you knew you were the loudest.
“Yknow, my husband is a bitch and I love him so much.”
Looking at Eddie’s jokingly hurt expression, you burst out laughing, harder than you ever had in your life.
***
It was around 2 am when you all paraded back home. It had been a long, carefree night, only made better by the pure joy radiating off everyone in your family. Eddie fumbled for the house keys, eventually unlocking the door, only to be knocked down by their surprisingly strong Pomeranian, Stanley.
A minute after you walked inside and kicked off your shoes, you passed out on the couch. Stanley curled up beside you, licking your face.
Eddie and Richie shared similar expressions as they gazed at the adorable sight. Not once had either of them believed their lives would come to this.
Richie Tozier never believed he’d be a world-famous comedian, married to his best friend that he’d been in love with since childhood, with the most amazing daughter anyone could ask for.
Eddie Kaspbrak never thought he’d escape his never-ending cycle of letting an emotionally abusive woman control his life, marry the man of his dreams and have a daughter.
Y/N Tozier-Kaspbrak truly believed that no other kid was as lucky as her. No other kid had a perfect, unbreakable pair of parents like she did.
No other family was as beautifully perfect as the Tozier-Kaspbrak family.
Not even close.

Thank you for the prompt! I’m sorry it took so long, but uh... it’s a whole ass fic! Lol.
Weep Little Lion Man-- on ao3
***
Eddie stumbles into his apartment, totally exhausted. All he wants to do is fall onto the couch and sleep for 27 years, but he can’t. Richie is staying with him and he’s going to want food.
“That you, spaghetti?” Richie calls. Eddie doesn’t even have enough energy to be annoyed at the stupid nickname.
“No, it’s the Zodiac killer, come to eat your guts,” Eddie calls back. Richie comes out of the bedroom and pulls Eddie into a hug.
“The Zodiac killer wasn’t a cannibal. You’re thinking of Hannibal Lecter,” Richie says. Eddie bites at Richie’s pec, and Richie winces, laughing. “How was your day, my love?”
“Ughhhhhhh!” Eddie groans. Richie kisses his hair.
“That good, huh?”
“I can’t wait for the divorce to be over,” Eddie says. “I want to live in LA and be with you all the time already.” They are in New York in a small ass apartment that Eddie is renting month to month. Richie is there for a few weeks having just gotten off tour.
“Soon, babes, soon.”
“Myra is such a bitch,” Eddie mumbles.
“I know, love, I know.”
“I just hate how she’s insisting on dragging this out,” Eddie mumbles. At first he’d offered to give her whatever she wanted, ready to move on. Myra had gotten mad, saying he would tell all their friends she’d taken advantage of him. Eddie offered to give her what she came with, and a small alimony check, but it wasn’t enough. Splitting everything was too much. It felt like nothing would be good enough, and Eddie is about 3 seconds away from dropping everything and just running.
“The meeting went that well?” Richie asks.
“Sorry, Rich, I’m just tired. Let me go take a shower and we can go grocery shopping.” He kisses Richie’s cheek and starts to pull away.
“Why don’t you just take your time in the shower? I can go,” Richie offers and Eddie bristles.
“No. I’ll be quick.”
“Eds, you had a long day. I don’t mind,” Richie says softly.
“I said, ‘no.’” Eddie snaps. “I’ll be quick.”
“Are you sure? Cause I don’t mind. Really.”
“Beep beep, mother fucker. I’m perfectly capable of doing my own grocery shopping!” Eddie yells. “I’m not some pathetic baby! I am a grown ass adult. I know I’m a fucking mess right now, but it’s not like I can’t fucking grocery shop!” Eddie doesn’t even know what he’s saying. He doesn’t know why he’s so angry.
“Whoa, Eds!” Richie takes a step back holding his hands up in the air.
“My name is Eddie! What the fuck dude! You know how much I hate it when you call me Eds. It’s such a child’s name, and I am not a child!” He’s nearly screaming now. “And let’s say I do let you go grocery shopping? Do you even fucking know what brands I like? What foods I can eat? Do you know what I’m allergic to? Do you?”
Richie doesn’t say anything, just lets Eddie rant.
“Are you going to say something, Richie? I asked you a question. You never fucking shut up, and now I ask you a question and you can’t fucking say anything?”
Richie licks his lips. He’s about to say something, but Eddie doesn’t want to hear it so he just pushes past the taller man.
“You don’t have to coddle me, Richie! I’m capable of doing my own errands!” Eddie leaves Richie by the door and goes to take a shower. His hands shake as he undresses. He gets frustrated with the buttons on his shirt, and one of them pops off. When he’s naked, he leaves his clothes in a pile on the floor and jumps in the shower.
He takes his time, washing his hair and body vigorously, his mind racing. What the fuck is wrong with him? Richie was just trying to be nice because he loves Eddie and knows how completely overwhelmed Eddie is. Eddie know Richie is nothing like Myra or his mother, but Eddie can do his own fucking grocery shopping.
When he gets out, he’s still angry, but he feels mostly in control until he sees Richie on the couch watching TV. He’s still wearing his sweats and a sleep shirt.
“Are we going grocery shopping or what?” Eddie snaps and Richie jumps.
“What the fuck Eddie!” Richie says. “I thought you wanted to go alone.”
“I didn’t say that,” Eddie says. “When did I say that? What could have possibly lead you to the conclusion that I wanted to go alone?”
“Um, maybe because you keep yelling at me when I’m just trying to be nice?” Richie says.
“Fuck you!” Eddie yells. “I don’t need you to be nice to me. I’m perfectly fine!”
“Clearly,” Richie says. Eddie rubs his face.
“Just fucking get dressed.”
“If you yell at me in public, we will end up in the tabloids.”
“You say that like it’s a bad thing. Doesn’t that just give you fodder for your failing comedy career?” As soon as the words leave his mouth, Eddie’s whole body flushes. He feels like garbage. He and Richie tease a lot, but this doesn’t feel like teasing, and he hates himself for it.
“Eddie, stop,” Richie says softly. “Just talk to me.”
“I am talking to you.”
“No, you’re screaming at me,” Richie says.
“I’m fine, Richie! I just need you to get dressed! I’m tired and hungry.”
“Why don’t we just order something?” Richie asks.
“Because, Richie! I like cooking! And I want to cook you a fucking nice meal. But I need to go to the fucking store.”
“So go!” Richie says. “I’m not stopping you!”
“Fine!” Eddie goes to the door and starts to put on his shoes, but his hands won’t stop shaking. Tears fill his eyes and he slumps into the door.
“Eddie!” Richie says. He gets up and kneels next to Eddie, hesitating.
“Richie-” Eddie gropes for Richie’s shirt and pulls him close. “Oh, God, Richie. I’m so fucking sorry.” Richie pulls Eddie close, stroking his back.
“It’s ok, Eddie, you’re ok,” Richie whispers. Eddie just cries. He cries and he cries and he cries and he cries.
He cries until he feels empty and then he just lays limply in Richie’s arms while Richie kisses his hair.
“You’re ok, my love,” Richie says. “I’m here. I’ve got you.”
“I’m sorry, Richie. I- I don’t know where all that came from.” Eddie sits up and wipes his face with his shirt.
“You’ve been under a lot of pressure lately.”
“But that doesn’t make it right to treat you like shit,” Eddie says.
“I know you didn’t mean it, Eds-dee. Eddie.”
Laughing softly, “It’s ok. You can call me Eds. I don’t mind. Not really.”
“I just didn’t want to upset you again.”
Taking a deep breath, Eddie leans against the door. “I- I think I got upset because I actually like shopping. It was one of the few times I got to be alone when I was married and-” He takes another deep breath. “I’m sorry, baby.”
“It’s ok, really,” Richie says so gently, so softly. Eddie’s eyes fill up with tears again.
“You don’t have to do that.”
“Do what?” Richie asks.
“Be nice. Act like I deserve it.”
“But you do deserve it,” Richie says. He scoots a little closer to Eddie but doesn’t touch him.
“I don’t.”
“You do. I love you, and you deserve to be treated nicely.”
“Even when I’m a little asshole?”
“Especially when you’re a little asshole,” Richie says, and Eddie leans into his shoulder. They fall silent. Eddie is still hungry, but now he’s more tired than anything, and he’s wondering if Richie will still order them food.
“How do you do it?” Eddie asks eventually.
“Do what?”
“Love me. You love me like I deserve you,” Eddie says. His throat is tight with emotions, he can barely get the words out.
Richie tugs Eddie into his lap and grabs Eddie’s face in his hands. For the first time that night he looks angry. Really angry.
“Edward Kaspbrak,” Richie growls, and Eddie’s eyes go wide. “You do deserve me. You are such an amazing person, and I love you so fucking much. I- What-” He stops and closes his eyes. He’s trying to get himself under control. “Your mother and your wife-” He stops again, biting back tears.
“Richie-”
Opening his eyes, Richie says, “You deserve everything you could ever want in the world, Eddie. Everything. You are so amazing, and sweet, and loving, and funny, and real. Yeah, sometimes you’re an asshole, but that’s ok. We all have our moments. If you need to let off some steam, that’s ok. You’re allowed to be angry and hurt.” He pauses. “There’s still so much that we don’t know about each other, and it’s hard to know what’s going to set one of us off. Today I set you off. Tomorrow you’ll probably set me off. So long as we talk about it, it’s going to be ok.”
He pulls Eddie close, and kisses him so, so gently. He kisses him like Eddie’s worth Richie’s whole attention, like there’s nothing he’d rather be doing, even when Eddie has spent the better part of the last hour screaming at him about nothing. It’s too much for Eddie, and when they break apart, he’s crying again, but so is Richie.
Neither of them say anything for several minutes. They just sit on the floor in front of Eddie’s door, foreheads pressed together as they hold each other and cry.
Eddie can’t believe this is happening. If this had happened with Myra, he would have left for the store and when he got home, they would have fought some more. Eddie might have cried, but he would have done it alone, in the bathroom or on the couch after Myra had gone to bed. When it got late enough, he would have curled up in bed next to Myra and try to make himself as small as possible, wanting to make sure Myra couldn’t touch him without making an effort.
But with Richie. Richie is right there. He’s holding Eddie, talking him through it, telling him it’s ok. And Eddie believes him. He really does. He knows everything’s going to be ok. It is just a bad night, but Richie still wants him close. Not like Myra would have, not in a way that he wants to control Eddie’s emotions. Richie wants Eddie close so he can help Eddie through whatever lies his brain is telling him, to make sure he knows he’s loved and supported.
After a bit, Eddie kisses Richie again, and they get up slowly. Richie orders them take out, and they spend the evening curled up on the couch, just holding hands and watching something stupid on TV. When they go to bed, Eddie curls up into Richie’s arms, and falls asleep on Richie’s chest. They sleep the whole night through.

A Regular Fuckin’ Frank Sinatra
“Some day, when I’m awfully low, when the world is cold, I will feel a glow just thinking of you, and the way you look tonight…”
“Holy shit.”
Eddie Kaspbrak whirled around, skillet in hand, fried onions spilling out over the side and landing on the floor with a splat.
“Fuck, Richie, don’t sneak up behind me! The last time that happened, an alien made me a human fucking shish kabob.”
Richie Tozier blinked, gaping at him as if he was somehow a charitable intruder that had taken it upon himself to cook them dinner in his kitchen.
“Sorry,” he mumbled eventually, his cheeks flushed as he cleared his throat, “you uh…you can sing.”
Eddie, who was busy wiping up the mess off the floor, straightened up, brow furrowed.
“What?”
Richie moved so fast he practically teleported across the room, gesturing wildly.
“You—you can fucking sing, Eddie! How—how do I not know that about you? I know fucking everything about you.”
“You do not.”
Eddie flushed as he thought of that one big thing in particular Richie absolutely did not know.
“I did,” Richie insisted with pointed finger, stepping even closer.
Eddie held his ground, tilting his chin up.
“Back when we were kids,” Richie continued, something indistinguishable in his gaze, “I knew you inside and out, dude. How the fuck did you hide the fact that you’re a regular fuckin’ Frank Sinatra?”
Eddie turned back to what remained of his onions.
He shrugged.
“I can…hold a note, Richie. That doesn’t mean I can—”
“The fuck it doesn’t! Have you heard yourself? Fuck Kelly Clarkson - you’re the American Idol, man. Shit, I gotta tell the oth—”
“Don’t!”
Richie stopped dead in his tracks as Eddie grabbed his shoulder, his fingers digging hard into his skin, through his shirt.
“Why?” He asked, his back still turned.
Eddie slowly let his hand drop.
Richie’s stomach flipped at the loss.
“It’s…embarrassing,” Eddie spoke to his shoes, “I don’t…I don’t sing for other people. Just, for me. It’s…mine.”
Richie nodded, understanding passing between them as he moved to lean against the fridge, his arms crossing over his chest as he watched Eddie get back to his dish.
“I still can’t believe I never knew you had the pipes of an angel.”
Eddie winced, adding a pinch of salt, “How do you make everything sound like a sex joke?”
“Natural talent,” Richie shrugged, rubbing the back of his neck, “but seriously, man. You…you’re talented.”
If Eddie’s face felt a little hot, he could blame the oven rising the temperature in the kitchen.
“Thanks.”
Richie gave a heavy sigh, letting his head bang back against the fridge door as he lamented to the ceiling, “I just wish 13-year-old me could have heard baby Spagheds belt one out.”
“Sounds like another sex joke,” Eddie wrinkled his nose as he stirred the sauce, “and besides, I could have been singing karaoke every damn day, but you were too busy belting out Eddie My Love to hear anything over your own crowing.”
Richie gave him a gentle punch to his shoulder.
“Fuck you! I’ve the voice of—”
“Cameron Diaz from My Best Friend’s Wedding, only sadder and drunker.”
A beat passed where they listened to the pan sizzle.
“That’s…fair.”
They laughed, Richie opening the fridge to take out a beer.
“Bill wants his gross craft shit. I don’t get it, man. It tastes like fucking piss and gasoline had a one-night-stand produced a disgusting love-child.”
Eddie hummed at his friend’s theatrics, beginning to dish up the food, letting his eyes rake up and down Richie as he turned his back to grab another beer that, despite his protests, Eddie had zero doubt was for him.
Richie had dressed up for dinner. One of their biannual Losers reunions that they, as roommates of four months, were hosting this time around.
The navy shirt and black slacks fit him like a glove.
Eddie shoved an extra roast potato onto Beverly’s plate. It was the least he could do for her invaluable fashion choices.
“Never, ever change…keep that breathless charm,” he sang softly under his breath as he began to turn everything off, hyper aware that the only sound now was his voice, “won’t you please arrange it? ‘Cause…I love you, just the way you look tonight…”
He could feel Richie watching him out of the corner of his eye, but he kept his own gaze forward, his heart hammering against his rib cage.
“I…I thought it was just for you?”
Eddie shrugged, still unable to look at him and instead focused on arranging the seven plates to his standard.
“Yeah, well. You’ve always been the exception, Rich.”

Home Again//2019!Eddie Kaspbrak x Daughter!Reader
Tumblr media
A/N: Requested by @thoughtfullyyoungduck, I hope this was close to what you wanted.
Warnings: Verbal berating of the reader and a brief but graphic scene of violence against the reader
Prompt: Ever since your mom left when you were five it had just been you and your dad. You were each other’s only family. But when he brings you back to his hometown of Derry you decide it’s time to meet your grandmother.
The house your father grew up inside in Derry, Maine didn’t look like it had been touched much since the 1980s. Most of Derry still felt small and quiet like the rest of the world forgotten it. As you drove through town to your hotel yesterday your dad kept shaking his head and remarking on how everything still looked the same. You knew he’d be furious if he found out you came here but you couldn’t help yourself.
You had never met your grandparents before and your dad never talked about his childhood. Could he really expect you to pass up the opportunity to ask questions he never answered? This morning he said he had to go meet some of his old friends, the ones you had met last night at dinner, and he explicitly told you to stay in the hotel room. You rolled your eyes thinking about it. Your dad had always been overprotective. Maybe it was because he was just an anxious person? Always on you about being home before dark and getting your flue shot. Maybe it was because your mom left when you were five and it was just the two of you? You knew it was hard on him trying to take care of both of you all the time all by himself. Or maybe it was just because he worked nights so often and he worried about you being home alone? Either way it was always getting on your nerves. You’d long gotten use to sneaking out when your dad was gone, and sneaking out of the hotel was easy.
The old Kaspbrak house looked like most other houses on the street. It was small and white with a decent porch. The only real difference was that the lawn was shaggy and in desperate need of a mowing and the curtains were all drawn, keeping the light out of the house. If it wasn’t for the station wagon in the driveway you would have thought there was no one home. You took a deep breath before starting up the walk and climbing the stairs. You hesitated before bringing your hand down on the door in two quick knocks.Glancing behind your shoulder you took in the empty street. It was a Sunday morning but there was no one in the streets, no children playing or dad’s mowing the lawn.
“Who are you?”
You jumped and whirled back around, coming face to face with a much larger old woman. You couldn’t help but gasp at the sight. She wasn’t much taller than you, her hair was dark brown with grey roots showing, and there were prominent wrinkles around her eyes, the same shade of brown as yours and your dad’s. Sonia Kapbrak looked you up and down with distance, studying you closely. You cleared your throat and took a small step back.
“I’m, uh, are you Sonia Kaspbrak?”
“I am.” She crossed her arms in front of her.
“Well, my name is Y/N Kaspbrak. My father is Eddie Kaspbrak. I’m your granddaughter.”
You don't know what kind of reaction you were expecting, but Sonia staring you down through squinted eyes that hid in her full face and made them look black in appearance was not it. She stared at you hard, looking you over from head to toe as if sizing you up. It made you shift nervously from foot to foot in your spot. Was she like this when your dad was a kid? Your entire life your dad had always looked happy to see you when you came home from school or walked into the kitchen in the morning, he always smiled at you warmly. Even when he was mad at you, you never got a look like this one. But now you could picture him as a little kid getting in trouble and getting stared down on this same porch. What was she looking for?! You folded your arms across your middle and fought back a flinch when Sonia smiled at you.
"Oh, really? My Eddie Bear is a father?! I'd be surprised he never told me except he never calls me at all anymore. You raise them up as best you can, and then they run off and leave you, never to call, never showing any gratitude!" She threw her hands up in the air then shook her head. "Please, why don't you come inside?"
You opened your mouth to decline, suddenly not too sure about this whole thing but Sonia looked at you expectantly and the words died in your mouth. Wordlessly you stepped into the house and were surprised to find the darkness that had surrounded the house had moved inside as well. Sonia didn’t seem bothered by it though as she didn’t move to turn on any lights when she led you to the living room. The blinds were cracked in the living room, allowing dim rays of light to enter the room and work with the old boxed, bunny eared TV to shine enough light to make the room dim but light enough to see.
“Go on, have a seat.”
You sat down stiffly on the edge of the sofa, so far that you were almost falling off.
“Would you like a drink? I have sodas or bottled water? You can’t drink the stuff from the tap anymore. Too much lead and chemicals in it.”
“Oh, no I’m fine, thank you.”
Sonia nodded and sat down in her recliner next to the couch and smiled at you. A flash of red caught your eye. You glanced over at one of the windows and caught a glimpse of a red balloon floating by. You narrowed your eyes as you watched it go.
“So, Y/N, you’re my granddaughter?”
You turned back to Sonia and nodded, forcing a smile. “I have so many questions for you! My dad doesn’t talk about Derry very much.”
Sonia hummed, “Well I’m not surprised. Eddie bear hasn’t so much as called since he left me here. I suppose he’s done alright for himself though?” She looked at you strangely, sizing you up again. “Tell me, what’s your mother like?”
You swallowed hard, “I’m afraid I don’t know much.” You cleared your throat. “She left us when I was five. We haven’t kept in touch.”
You could practically see Sonia’s ears perk up. “Really?” She laughed humorlessly, “Well, I guess I can see why.”
Your jaw dropped. “Ex-, Excuse me?”
“Well obviously it couldn’t be my Eddie’s fault she left so it must have been your fault.”
“You don’t-”
“Of course I know dear!” she shook her head, “I knew when you stepped on my porch. Look at you? Your filthy just like your mother, holding my Eddie back, keeping him anchored with a child to take care of on his own? You should be ashamed.”
A cold dread filled your stomach and gripped your body. You had heard these words before, your own brain screamed them at you in your bed at night like a flashing sign. Somehow Sonia was on the same wavelength as you.
“Why are you saying these things?” You choked out, willing away your tears.
“Because it’s the truth isn’t it? All alone with a child to take care of, how could you do anything but hold your father back! Just think of all the things he could do if he wasn’t stuck taking care of you.” Sonia shook her head pityingly, “I suppose that’s what he gets for leaving me all alone here though. A disappointment of a daughter like you.”
You shook your head at her, “I think I should go now.”
“Oh, dear, you’re not going anywhere.”
You stared at Sonia, eye brows furrowed. Sonia smiled. You jumped up from the couch and raced for the door faster than you had ever moved in your life. You didn’t expect Sonia to be able to move fast enough to grab you but she did. She grabbed you by your hair and pulled you back into the room, tossing you to the floor. She smiled down at you, rows and rows of sharp, pointed teeth showing.
You screamed and ear splitting scream, crawling back on your hands until your back hit the wall. Sonia smiled wider and rushed towards you. Your foot connected with her face with a sickening crack as her head shot back. You watched in horror as she slowly righted her head and snapped it back into place. You screamed and screamed when Sonia crouched down in front of you, grabbing your hand as you tried to shove her away. She brought your hand closer to her mouth before-
“Y/N!”
You and Sonia’s eyes both flicked back to the front door that you could hear your name being screamed and the front door shaking as someone tried to knock it down. Sonia turned back to you and smiled through thin, yellow eyes that made you flinch. Her grin widened, showing off every one of her sharp teeth, and with a shake of her head she let go of your hand and stalked backwards from you before disappearing into the kitchen.
You stared at the spot where she had disappeared through in horror when the front door was kicked in and your father, Richie, and Mike all came running into the room, Beverly, Ben, and Bill trailing behind.
“Y/N?! Y/N, baby, oh my God!” Your dad rushed to your side and dropped to his knees in front of you. He grabbed your face in his hands and pulled your gaze from the kitchen door to look at him. “Y/N? Are you okay?! Are you hurt?!”
You continued to stare at him, shock and horror still playing on your face as he ran his hands from your face to your wrist, checking for broken bones. He looked so worried as he checked you over that Sonia’s words rang through your head again. “Just think of all the things he could do if he wasn’t stuck taking care of you?”
A sob escaped your throat, “Dad?”
He paused and looked from your wrist where Sonia had squeezed up to your face. He saw your bottom lip tremble and felt his racing heart break. “Oh, baby.” He pulled you to him and hugged you tight. As soon as he did this you began to cry against his shoulder, clutching his jacket in your fist. “It can’t hurt you anymore Y/N. I’m right here, I’m not going to let it hurt you again.” He squeezed you tighter and kissed your forehead.
“Dad, she-, it-, it’s teeth...”
Eddie swallowed back the memory of those teeth inching in on his at the Nesboit house. He realized you had been in that same position and felt sick. He pulled back to look you in the eyes and nodded.
“I know. I’m sorry Y/N, I never should have brought you back here with me.”
“It’s gone Eddie, we better get her out of here.” Richie spoke softly, placing his hand on Eddie’s shoulder and squeezed reassuringly.
Eddie looked up at him and nodded. Carefully he helped you to your feet and led you out of the house, his arm wrapped around your shoulder protectively.

Of Scales and Sea Glass

~
Eddie jolted upright in bed at the sound of screaming, Richie screaming.
“EDDIE!” Richie shouted, “EDDIE”.
Eddie threw the covers off of him and jumped out of bed. Adrenaline pumped through his veins as he ran to the bathroom.
Someone’s in the house, someone’s found Richie, he got out of the tub somehow, his wounds opened up again, his scales fell off, he broke his glasses-
Eddie’s entire being froze at the sight of what was in his bathtub.
He has legs. HOLLY SHIT HE HAS LEGS, AND HE’s- oh god he’s naked, so naked…
“What. The. Fuck.” Eddie’s jaw was on the floor, eyes wide with shock.
“You can say that again! I’VE BEEN DECAPITATED!” Richie shouted, obviously confused and angry.
He was still in the tub, and his upper half hadn't changed, no that was the same…. But it was his lower half. Instead of a long blue tail that flopped over the edge, Richie had long pale legs. They were as smooth as a baby’s butt, with feet and toes and everything. Eddie’s gaze flickered over to his hands that were running up and down his new legs. The human noticed the lack of claws and webbing that once connected his fingers. And there were no scales whatsoever.
“Holly shit,” Eddie gapped, unable to form any other sentence that wasn’t filled with pure and utter shock. He felt like he was gonna pass out.
Richie has legs. Like- actual legs, no tail or scales, just legs, human legs.
“Eddie fucking Kaspbrak what the hell did you do to me?” He demanded, his eyes still as blue as ever, but now there was a fire that burned behind them.
“ME? How is this my fault?” Eddie demanded, crossing his arms over his chest. Something inside him warmed at the continuation of their iconic banter.
“Who else could it have been? The damn tooth fairy?” Richie ran his hands through his hair, suddenly the anger replaced by fear. “What happened to me?” His voice grew quiet.
Eddie grabbed the shirt he’d gotten from Bev and tossed it at Richie. “Cover that up,” he gestured to his privates.
“EDDIE THIS IS SERIOUS!” Richie tried to sound serious but now he was kinda over being shocked. “How did this even happen…?” He closed his eyes and pushed his glasses up his face so he could rub his eyes.
Eddie began investigating the tub for some magical crab or weird potion, instead he found the red button had been pushed. “Fucking hell…” He turned to the mer, “Did you push the button after I explicitly told you not to?”.
Richie’s face went blank, “Maybe…”.
“You dumbass! That button drains the water from the tub! The lack of water must’ve caused all this,” Eddie vagley gestured to Richie’s new legs.
“HEY! How the hell was I supposed to know what’d happen? God- fuck can you just get me out of the damn tub? I don’t wanna be in here longer than I have to be.” Richie held his arms up and did the little grabby motion with his hands.
“You’re sooooo needy,” he dragged out the O in an over dramatic tone. “First put the fucking shirt on so I don’t have to keep staring at your junk,” Eddie ordered as he crossed his arms over his chest. He looked the other way to give Richie some privacy.
Richie sighed, “And you say I’m the dumbass. I’ve never worn a fucking shirt before!” Richie threw the shirt at Eddie’s head.
Eddie began to laugh as he yanked the shirt off his face, “Oh god. We’re so sad.” He shook his head.
Richie couldn’t help but join in, Eddie’s laugh was contagious. “Whatever, I’m sorry Spaghetti, just please help me,” Richie said, his tone was not serious but the message was.
Eddie got Richie to lift his arms over his head and the human pulled the shirt onto the mer. He fixed the arms as Richie looked down at the design and scoffed. After Eddie wrapped an arm around Richie and helped him up and scooped him out of the tub. Once Richie’s feet were flat on the bathroom floor, he leaned on Eddie and straightened up, standing tall. Eddie’s stomach dropped as he noticed the height Richie now had over him.
It didn’t take too long for Richie to catch on, and when he did, a devious smirk played over his lips. Looking down at Eddie he cooed, “Hey short stuff.”
“Hey chicken legs,” Eddie retorted, staring down at Richie’s bony legs.
“I don’t even know what that means,” Richie smiled at his human.
Sure it was a struggle but Eddie got Richie into his room and helped him into a pair of his bigger shorts. Even though they were big on Eddie, they were a little tight on Richie, but even if he did mind, he didn’t mention it. They were red and rode half way up the mer’s thighs. Eddie would be lying if he said he didn’t stare at the view for the first few seconds when Richie initially put them on. But he snapped himself out of his little horny trance as he knew they both needed to eat.
Let’s just say that going down the stairs while supporting someone who’s taller than you, who’s also never walked before, is hard to say the least. But once they finally made it into the kitchen, Eddie sat Richie down in a chair and went to go start making food.
After brunch, Eddie was determined to help Richie learn to walk, or at least stand on his own. Since Eddie was not going to be able to withstand much more of all this physical labour, he could already feel his bones aching from the amount of lifting he’s been doing lately. So they started with the basics: standing.
Eddie helped Richie off the chair and held onto his hands (while ignoring the heat in his cheeks) as he let Richie find his balance (which he didn’t have a lot of). The mer wiggled and wobbeled before he was able to straighten his knees and tilt his chin up. Eddie took a step backwards, in hopes of getting Richie to follow, but instead it ruined his center of gravity and Richie began to fall forward.
The two landed on the kitchen floor with a big thump. They both moaned and groaned.
“We’ve gotta stop meeting like this,” Richie mused from where he laid, on top of Eddie.
“Heh… Yeah,” Eddie agreed, but in all honesty he kinda liked the closeness (aside from the sprouting pain in his back). Richie was all warm and clingy, a new side he’s been able to experience since he’s gotten legs.
By the time dinner rolled around, Richie was able to safely say he could stand on his own, and walk slowly. This made it a hell of a lot easier on Eddie when it was time for them to head upstairs for bed. Instead of Richie leaning all of his weight on the shorter male, he simply kept one arm on the banister and the other around Eddie’s waist.
“Okay, so I’ll grab a pillow and a blanket and sleep for you for the tub-” Eddie began before he was interrupted by Richie.
“What? No way in hell am I going back to the tub,” Richie complained from where he stood in Eddie’s room, watching Eddie rifle through his closet.
“Fine. You take my bed while I go sleep on the couch in the living room,” Eddie offered, finally finding a spare blanket, he flung it at Richie.
The blanket covered Richie’s head, he yanked it off, messing up his hair (Eddie found it adorable). “What? Eddie, no. This is your house, you take the bed,” Richie insisted as he balled up the blanket in his hands.
“Whatever you say Trashmouth, you want the couch you get the couch-”
“No- holy shit you’re clueless. Eddie, sleep with me.”
Eddie stopped, dropping the pillow in his hands. “W-What?” His voice shook.
“There’s clearly enough space for both of us in your bed, so I don’t see why we can’t just fucking sleep togeher,” Richie wildly guestured to Eddie’s queen-sized bed.
Of course that’s what he meant. It’s not like he’d want to actually sleep with you…
“Oh! Um- If that’s alright with you,” Eddie scrambled to grab the pillow he dropped.
Richie scoffed, finding flustered Eddie cute. “I’m the one that offered.”
Eddie mentally slapped himself. “Yep, right, sorry,” he stumbled on his words.
I sound like fucking Bill.
With that the two boys got ready for bed, Richie simply staying in the clothes he’d been wearing as they were comfy and still clean. While Eddie scurried off to the bathroom to change into a pair of flannel pajama pants and a vintage Voltron shirt. The two shuffled into bed, Eddie stayed on the very edge as he worried he’d internally combust if he continued to be so close to Richie. While Richie tossed and turned in an attempt to find a good position.
“Goodnight Eddie,” Richie said before a yawn escaped his lips.
Eddie looked over at the beautiful boy in his bed and smiled to himself. “Goodnight Richie.”
~
Eddie opened his eyes, and he couldn’t see. The water that engulfed him blurred his vision. He wasn't sure how long it had been since he last took a breath. Maybe that’s why his lungs burned like the fires of hell. Suddenly he couldn’t stop himself, and he opened his mouth, determined to breath, but instead was met by a mouthful of cold, salty water.
“Eddie!” A distant voice called out to him.
Something glowed off in the distance, it came into view as Eddie’s vision began to haze. It wasn’t just a fish, it was a mermaid, his merman.
Richie.
“EDDIE!” The voice was now louder, closer.
Suddenly Eddie was gasping for air as someone shook his shoulders.
His vision cleared and he saw Richie leaning over him, eyes filled with concern. “Eddie! Hey, are you okay?” His voice trembled as he hesitated to let go.
Eddie had trouble forming words, the nightmare still fresh in his mind. Then, he became aware of the thick layer of sweat covering his body, and how oddly wet his face had become. He’d been crying. He didn’t know what to do, what to say. So instead of answering he simply wrapped his arms around Richie and buried his face into his neck.
Richie immitaly hugged Eddie back, rubbing soft circles into his back with one hand while the other held Eddie’s head as he softly sobbed. “Hey… It’s okay. I’m here now, you’re safe,” Riche cooed, softly stroking Eddie’s hair. The two had been sitting up for a while, so Richie slowly lowered them down to lie on their sides. The mer held his human and whispered sweet nothings to him until they both drifted off to sleep.
Eddie woke up to find an arm draped over his torso as he huddled close to Richie’s chest. As much as his thoughts told him to move, to go make breakfast, to not get attached because of the inevitable, he stayed there. He stayed in Richie’s arms and let the world turn around them.
“‘Morning Eds,” Richie croaked.
Eddie melted at the sound of Richie’s morning voice, low and gravely. He tensed, about to slither out of Richie’s grasp before he could let go, but instead of letting go, he held Eddie tighter. Eddie melted even further, thankful for the warmth the mer brought him.
“How was your sleep? Better?” Richie asked, running his hand through Eddie’s messy morning hair.
“Better” Eddie confirmed.
Eddie was a bit distant for the next couple of days. His eyes couldn’t properly focus on anything and his mind was all hazy. Richie noticed and tried to ask him about it but Eddie just disregarded him, saying he was fine even though Richie could tell he clearly wasn't.
Eddie might act oblivious but he knew well enough. He knew that everyday he spent with Richie would only make his feelings stronger, making it so much harder to let him go when the time came.
One night after dinner, Richie had fallen asleep on the couch. When he woke up again, the house was dark, and Eddie wasn't beside him.
“E-Eds?” Richie groaned as he slid his glasses on. He sat upright and looked around the silent house. “Eddie!” he called out again.
Carefully, Richie stood up from his seat on the couch and took a couple steps towards the kitchen. He was halfway there when a cool breeze blew past. He looked in the direction of the wind and saw the screen door was open. Richie let out a sad sigh. “Eddie…”. He grabbed a blanket from the couch, wrapped it around his shoulders and proceeded to shuffle towards the door.
Another gust of wind blew past as Richi stepped out onto the back patio, he shivered under the warm fabric of the blanket.
Eddie sat on the first step of the patio, knees pulled closed to his chest, his arms folded overtop and his head down. Neither of them spoke as Richie sat down beside him. He felt Richie scoot a little closer, their knees bumping against each other and their shoulders brushing each other.
Richie didn’t ask if Eddie was okay, because the answer was obvious, so instead he asked, “Are you cold?”
Eddie simply responded, “No”.
Richie huffed. “That’s such bullshit”.
In response Eddie let out a breath of air from his nose as his lips smiled a sad smile. Without another word, Richie got as close as he could, and wrapped a blanketed arm over Eddie’s shoulders. Eddie unwillingly melted into Richie’s touch, leaning a head against him.
“What’s been going on with you lately?” Richie rubbed Eddie’s arm.
Eddie didn’t meet Richie’s gaze, nor did he answer the question. Instead he looked out into the ocean that sat before them and asked, “Do you miss it?” his voice weak and distant.
“Yeah, Eddie, I do. I spent my entire life there.” He paused to collect his thoughts. “But that doesn't mean that’s where I wanna spend the rest of my life. It means that I like spending time here, here, on land, with you,” Richie elbowed Eddie slightly.
Eddie stiffened and pushed away from Richie so he could turn to look at him for the first time during their conversation.
“What does that even mean?” His face scrunched up in confusion.
“I mean what I said, Eddie! I like it here, I like you, I thought all the hints were kinda fucking obivious,” Richie turns red as he gushes.
Eddie’s breath hitched with the sudden wave of emotions that hit him. “Y-You like me…?” Eddie asked quietly.
“Yes, Eddie, I-I do. Like, a lot” Richie stumbled over his words as he began to worry that he said the wrong thing. “Sorry- I, um, that was stupid, I should’ve just kept my mouth shut-” Eddie shut him up by leaning in and kissing his lips.
The kiss lasted a couple of seconds, a spark ignited in the two as they pulled apart. “I like you too Rich, like, a lot,” Eddie admitted, quoting Richie.
Richie giggled like a little school girl, “Cool…” he blushed. “Can we uh- kiss again?” Richie requested sheepishly.
“I’d be pissed if we didn’t kiss again,” Eddie raised his eyebrows as Richie put a hand behind Eddie’s head and closed the distance between them.
This kiss was different from their first kiss, when Richie needed it purley to gather what he needed to be able to speak, but now there was more emotion in it. Something pure and raw that filled both of them with a warm feeling in their chests. Their lips moved insync, as if they were made for eachother, two puzzle pieces finally getting together.
Eddie broke away from Richie, his breath shaky as he spoke. “Richie we can’t do this. Y-You’re gonna leave one day-”
“One day,” Richie confirmed, “But not today, so please, can we just live in the moment? We don’t know when that day will come, but we’ll deal with it then. For now let’s just makeout, okay?”
Eddie thought about the hundreds of times he wished Richie would say that, and everytime he blocked the thought out, knowing one day Richie would leave. Today was not one of those days. For once, Eddie allowed himself to be happy and feel the emotions as they came. So that’s what they did, they made out.
~
“Okay we’ve gotta go shopping,” Eddie declared as he plopped down on his bed beside Richie, who was lying on his back, reading a comic book.
Richie dropped the comic onto his chest and looked over at his new boyfriend. “I have no clue what that is,” he said with a smile, excited.
“It’s when you go buy new clothes,” Eddie informed Richie as he laid down beside him.
“Why do you need new clothes?” Richie asked, turning onto his side to admire Eddie.
“Well we need to go shopping to get you some clothes. You can’t keep wearing my small clothes-”
“But I like them, they smell like you,” Richie whined as Eddie turned over.
“Well that won’t be too hard to fix now will it?” Eddie smirked as he slid closer to Richie. “I was thinking, this could also be a good chance for you to meet my friends,” Eddie suggested, nervous of the answer he’ll receive. It’s been about 3 weeks since Richie first washed into Eddie’s pool and one week since Richie got his legs. Since then, the mer has actually gotten pretty good at walking. Maybe not the best at running and dodging obstacles, but baby steps. Sure he still leans on Eddie sometimes but that’s more because he’s clingy and adores his short human.
“Wait- serious?!” Riche perked up, propping himself up on his elbows and looking down at Eddie, “That’d be so cool, I’ve been wanting to meet them for, like, ever,” Richie smiled.
“Really?” Eddie’s eyes widened in excitement.
“Yeah of course! Any friends of yours are friends of mine,” Richie smiled warmly, leaning down and giving Eddie a quick kiss.
~
The next day Eddie and Richie got ready and waited for Bill to come pick them up. Eddie wore a light blue tee he tucked into his jeans and he leant Richie another outfit of his, this time it was an old shirt his mom had bought from Freese’s that was too big on Eddie, yet it almost fit Richie like a crop top (and Eddie was loving it). Accompanied by a pair of old khaki shorts. The hardest part was when Eddie showed Richie what shoes were.
“Over my dead body,” Richie crossed his arms over his chest in protest.
“Well that can be arranged,” Eddie grumbled, jokingly.
Richie smirked and leaned down, wrapping an arm around Eddie and leaning his head on top of the short male’s. “What was that babe?”.
Eddie looked up at him. “You literally can’t go out without them.”
“I’ll wear them if I can be the small spoon tonight,” Richie stuck out his lower lip and widened his eyes, a face Eddie dubbed his sad puppy face.
“You’re so sad,” Eddie kissed him quickly before tossing the shoes at him.
It was a struggle but Eddie finally showed Richie how to tie his shoelaces. They both stood up at the sound of Bill honking his horn.
“Oh, it feels like my feet are in boxes,” Richie deadpanned as his knees wobbled again, just like they had when he first learned to walk. Immediately he stumbled, leaning on Eddie for support.
Eddie turned and looked at his boyfriend with concern. “You okay Rich?”
Richie nervously laughed and stood on his own, slowly finding his balance. “Yep! I’m all good.”
Eddie led Richie out and to Bill’s car, opened the back door, and slid in, beckoning for Richie to follow. Bev was already inside, she and Bill talking about something Georgie had done recently that resulted in him shooting milk from his nose.
“Eddie is this the dark and mysterious man you keep ditching us for?” Bev asked as she turned to face the two in the back seat.
Of course The Losers had picked up on Eddie’s constant disappearances, and Eddie couldn’t lie to save his life, so he admitted he met someone, an internet friend from out of state of course. He wanted to tell them the truth, he really did, but he didn’t feel right doing it without Richie beside him. So he did his best at lying, making up some elaborate story about how Richie was someone he’d met online and was moving to town and needed a place to stay. Also that he had social anxiety and needed time to settle in before he was ready to meet anyone. Eddie also sprinkled in the fact that said friend had some weird physical thing that meant he had trouble walking sometimes. Surprisingly, everyone bought it.
“Yep! Here he is, the elusive Richie,” Eddie laughed nervously.
Richie grinned and stuck his hand out. “Richie Tozier the honour is all mine.”
Bev reached out and shook his hand and Richie pulled her hand closer and kissed her knuckles, making her blush. Eddie couldn’t shake the twang of jealousy that shot through him.
“Beverly Marsh,” she introduced herself. “I’ve heard lots about you.”
“All terrible I assume?” Richie said in a british accent, he smirked and nudged Eddie.
Bev joined in, placing the back of her hand on her forehead. “Ah yes darling, terrible, absolutely wretched.” She swooned in a matching accent.
“I’m Bill,” the third male smiled warmly from the driver's seat.
Richie kept going, this time switching to a weatern accent. “Well howdy hey Big Bill. How’re you doing on this fine morn’?” The two shook hands.
“H-How’ve you been settling in?” Bill inquiries.
“Me? Oh I’m doin’ fine. Just livin’ my best life with my whittle Eddie.” He gave Eddie a peck on the cheek as Eddie stilled and Bev gasped.
“Eddie you didn’t tell me the site you met Richie on was a dating website?” Bev asks in shock at the sudden show of affection.
“N-No that’s not where we met-” Eddie started.
“What’s a dating webs-” Richie cut in.
“But YES! We’re dating” Eddie concluded, not wanting to dig himself into a hole or reveal too much about Richie.
“Wow E-Eddie didn’t think you were lo-looking for a relationship,” Bill winked at Eddie through the rearview mirror.
When the foursome arrived at the mall, Eddie jumped to get out of the car. He ran around to Richie’s side to help him out. Richie had never been in a car before, or in shoes. The last thing Eddie needed was for him to trip and fall flat on his face. As they walked towards the mall’s main entrance, Eddie kept a firm grasp on Richie’s hand. Yes he loved the physical affection but he was also determined to stay beside Richie so he didn’t get lost or kidnapped or something.
Let’s just say the mall blew Richie’s little fish brain. It was a little overwhelming. He almost fell over a couple of times, but he had Eddie to lean on.
As the four Losers walked into the main area of the mall, three of the four stiffened at the sound of a loud laughter that erupted from behind them. Richie almost kept walking until he felt Eddie’s hand tighten around his own. He stopped and looked around to see the other staring at something, someone.
“Well if it isn’t Derry’s resident Losers Club,” Henry Bowers called out as he and his goonies approached them.
“Fu-Fuck off Henry,” Bill hissed, steping infront of his friends in a defensive manner.
“Su-suck my d-dick Bu-Bu-Bill.” Henry’s friends laughed as he mocked Bill’s stutter.
Eddie looked up and shot Richie a worried glance.
Henry caught wind of their silent conversation and addressed it. “Well look at this, does little wheezy finally have a faggot boyfriend?”
Richie’s blood boiled at how much pleasure this brought the Bowers Gang. He drowned out their comments and focused on the drinks they held in their hands. Richie took a step back, pulling Eddie with him only moments before the drinks exploded, soaking the bullies in their sugary beverages.
The Losers didn’t wait to see Henry’s reaction as they used the explosion as a distraction to bolt from the bullies. Bill led the way with Bev in tow, Eddie pulled Richie along as they darted past stands and zig zagged between customers.
“That was amazing!” Eddie hollered, shooting Richie a proud grin as they finally slowed down.
They met up with the rest of The Losers Club at the food court.
Mike waved them down when he saw them enter. “Hey guys!” he greeted.
“Hey Mike,” Bill smiled and took the seat beside him.
Ben got up from his seat and offered it to Bev, she gave him a kiss on the cheek and took it, Ben stole a chair from the other table.
“Wait, where’s Stan?” Eddie questioned as he took a seat with Richie, across from Bill and Mike.
“He went to grab a smoothie,” Ben informed him.
“Okay I wanted to wait but guys, this is Richie, my uh-” Eddie hiestated, “boyfriend.”
“Hello,” Richie grinned and waved.
“Your what” Stan suddenly appeared behind Mike.
“Hey! Stanley’s here,” Eddie piped up.
“Yes, and he’s very curious. When did you two become an item? I thought you were online friends,” Stan handed Mike a smoothie and took the other seat beside him.
Richie opened his mouth to respond but Eddie spoke. “Yeah we’ve been online friends for a while, and when he came to stay with me, we realized we had feelings for eachother.” Eddie became tense, lying always made him nervous. Richie noticed and put a hand on his knee, relieving some of the stress. Eddie let out a breath.
The group went to various stores, Bev dragged them to makeup stores, Bill dragged them to bookstores, Mike (politely) dragged them to a kitchen appliance store (he likes cooking and needed a new whisk). Then they stopped in one of the big clothing stores and made a mutual agreement to go and look in their own sections as everyone had different styles.
For a change, Eddie let Richie pull him around as he wanted to let the mer choose his own clothes. After jokingly picking out a jockstrap and a D cup bra, he finally decided on a variety of Hawaiian shirts with loud prints, some shorts, a pair of jeans and an array of T shirts (Some plain, some graphic tees). Eddie showed him to the changing rooms and waited outside for Richie to change.
Richie carefully stripped and replayed the memories of Eddie getting dressed in hopes that he’d be able put everything on correctly. His first outfit was a Hawaiin shirt that was covered in pastel pink and blue flowers and a black muscle top, paired with a pair of black shorts. He stepped out of the changing room and shyly turned to Eddie who was now blushing at the sight of seeing Richie in something other than his own clothes.
“How do I look?” Richie asked, worried about the amount of colour.
“Richie you look really good,” Eddie smiled in approval.
Richie blushed but covered it up as he struck a pose, stroked his thigh and asked, “You like what you see?” He wiggle his eyebrows seductively.
Eddie covered his face with his hand, now red as a tomato and sighed. “You’re so weird.”
After a long Richie Tozier exclusive fashion show, he decided on the items he wanted to buy. He went back into the changerooms and put his normal clothes back on. When it came time to put his shoes on, he took a seat on the bench in the corner of the room and mindlessly itched his ankle. Something felt off.
Glancing down, Richie’s entire being froze at what he saw. A small patch of skin around his ankle had become tough, hard, and almost blue. Richie snapped his eyes shut. This cannot be happening. His breath hitched as he carefully traced the rough area with his fingers. If he focused hard enough he could feel the vague outline of scales.
He moved the hand from his ankle and raked it through his hair. He could feel tears biting at his eyes as he grimaced. “Fuck,” he weekly whispered.
“E-Eddie?” Richie quietly called out from the changeroom.
“Yeah, Rich, everything alright?” Eddie asked from outside the door.
Richie exhaled and asked Eddie to assist him with his shoes. Eddie wasted no time and slipped inside and did Richie’s shoes. Once they were both up and on their feet, Richie wrapped Eddie in a hug.
“What’s this for?” Eddie asked.
“I… I just really like you,” Richie breathed. One hand on Eddie’s neck while the other was in his hair, he held him tightly, as if he were about to pop a tail and get swept off by the tide.
“I really like you too Chee,” Eddie knew what he’d done the moment the word left his mouth.
Richie stopped and slowly, dramatically pulled away from Eddie, holding his shoulders tight. “D-Did my Eddie Spaghetti just create a nickname for me?” he gasped joyfully. He released Eddie’s shoulders and looked to the ceiling, fanning his eyes as if he was about to cry. “looks like miracles are real.”
“Oh god,” Eddie groaned as he hid his face in between Richie’s neck and his shoulder.
“Say it again! Say it again!” Richie begged as he pulled Eddie away so he could look at his face.
Eddie let the moment last, anticipation rising before letting out a soft. “Chee.” He watched his boyfriend literally melt at the words.
Richie leaned down and kissed Eddie, and in that moment there was nowhere else they would have rather been.

Reddie; Rewind.
The fight with Pennywise ended a brutal one. With Eddie barely surviving, Richie felt broken inside as he and Bev sat in the waiting room of Derry Town Hospital. Bev had pieced together Richie's feelings - and had since claimed that she knew from the beginning. Richie dismissed that however, his voice low and husky - and his eyes on the verge of tears. A nurse in a white smock, and holding a clipboard emerged from the hallway, and Richie stood up suddenly - almost like clockwork.
"Mr Tozier, Ms Marsh?" The nurse began, "He's ready for you,"
In the blink of an eye, Richie had rushed to Eddie's hospital room. Bev traipsed slowly, remaining in the doorway of the room and watching the two men quietly. Richie stood over Eddie's bed in silence, as Eddie's vision cleared and he saw Richie standing over him.
"Rich-" Eddie began, before being shortly cut off -  in a whirlwind of words, emotions and sobs.
"Ed's, I'm sorry," Richie said, removing his glasses from his face, "I'm sorry I couldn't help you before this happened to you, and I'm sorry I ever forgot you. You were and are the best thing in my life, Edward Kaspbrak. I love you,"
Eddie sat up suddenly, elbows pressing against the pristine white pillows. Eddie took Richie's head in his hands and pulled him closer, closer - until their lips were touching. They moved with each other, passionately, and longingly. The two were only interrupted by a slight squeal from the doorway.
Bev remained in the doorway, standing stock still - with a hand slapped across her mouth, giggling ferociously, as if she were a teenager again.
"Really, Ringwald?" Richie laughed, peeling away from Eddie's grip and holding Eddie's hands in his. Bev's eyes widened as she ran back down the corridor and out of sight. Richie turned back to Eddie, who had a wide grin plastered across his mouth.
"You know," Eddie said, "For a Trashmouth you aren't that bad of a kisser,"
Eddie laughed softly, and the sound was music to Richie's ears. Oh, how he had longed to hear Eddie's euphoric laughter - to the point where it pained him. Eddie stopped laughing as it turned into a wince and he held is wound tightly. Richie cupped Eddie's head in his hands, and placed another kiss against his lips.
"I love you too, Rich," Eddie said softly. Richie held Eddie's hands tightly, and didn't ever want to let go. Ever again.
Years later, and Richie was still holding on tightly to Eddie. The two had quickly fled the dreaded town of Derry - and Eddie's divorce with Myra was hurriedly finalised. Every waking minute Richie spent with Eddie, he felt himself falling deeper and deeper into love - he barely believed such a state of pure nirvana was possible, yet here he was. Richie had plans for his future, plans which had progressed since the first fight with the entity known as It. He longed for a family, and to start a family with Eddie - and that all came down to one thing, that Richie had sworn to himself he would achieve.
Eddie arrived home from work late one evening, and came home to a slight surprise. The apartment was sparkling clean, every nook and cranny glinted with polish. He felt his insides warm as the sweet smell of candles wafted in from the kitchen. Honeysuckle and cherries. Coffee and chocolate. His mouth watered as he walked further into the house, carefully hanging his coat on the wall - to not effect the pristine state it was in.
The kitchen was, empty? A single post-it-note lay on the table, with a small note written on it - in Richie's familiar, messy writing.
Come find me, Ed's :)
Eddie spun around quickly, to find another note, hanging from the doorknob of the broom cupboard.
Look inside :)
It said simply. Eddie opened the door gently, which was also empty. He let out a deep sigh, and turned around - hoping to find another post-it-note. Instead, he found Richie on one knee, a small velvet box held open in his hand, with a glistening diamond ring placed inside of it.
"Ed's, Eddie Spaghetti, Edward Kaspbrak," Richie began as Eddie's eyes glistened with tears, "You're my light, my love, my everything. I don't know what I'd do without you, I couldn't live without you,"
Eddie let out a loud, unattractive sniff - which made Richie laugh aloud.
"I want you, for now and forever, Ed's. Will you marry me?" He finished, almost toppling over as his knee began to quiver and numb, letting out a small, "Fuck,"
"Richard Trashmouth Tozier, I will marry you," Eddie finally squealed. Richie let out a loud sigh, standing to his feet and almost falling backwards as Eddie launched himself into his arms. Richie held Eddie close to him, and buried his head in his shoulder, placing butterfly kisses up his shoulder and to his jaw, before placing one upon his lips. Richie slipped the ring around Eddie's thin fingers, and placed a kiss upon his hand.
"I can't wait," Eddie giggled, linking his pinky finger with Richie's, whom of which he held tight. Eddie had been planning his wedding since he was a small child. He wanted blindingly white butterflies, fairy lights and glittering stars. He wanted his soulmate standing at the other end of the aisle, and his friends sitting patiently in the crowd. He wanted his FairyTale kiss, and FairyTale happy ending. And Richie was his FairyTale prince.
Eddie got his FairyTale wedding. He walked down the aisle slowly, as a twinkling wedding march played. He looked to his right, and then to his left. Beverly Marsh and Ben Hanscom sat hand in hand, as Bev used her free hand to wipe away tears. Bill Denbrough and Audra Denbrough set, smiling widely. Stanley Uris and Mike Hanlon sat, eyes glistening slightly as they watched their forever best friends be united, forever.
Richie and Eddie kissed under the moonlight, as the twinkling stars shone above them. The only butterflies were within Eddie's stomach, and they were flying like crazy. They pressed their heads together, breathing deeply. They had made it.
Soon after, they moved out of the apartment. After many complaints from their friends, they finally concluded the fact that they were moving to New York, and they bid The Losers Club farewell. The house they had invested in together was a home. The tinted glass windows sparkled with colour as the golden sun shone through them. The marble stone counters glinted as the sun reflected off of them. The balcony overlooked the city, which ran for as far as the eye could see. Richie and Eddie Tozier were truly happy, and nothing could stand in between them.
"Daddy!" Delilah giggled endlessly, as Richie blew a raspberry onto her stomach, "It tickles!"
"Exactly the point, my love," Richie replied, placing a kiss upon Delilah's freckles nose. Her golden brown locks flowed over her shoulders as he pyjama onesie sat, buttoned up to her neck loosely.
"Daddy's a bit silly," Eddie said gently, entering the room and taking a seat on the bed where Delilah lay, "It's past your bedtime, baby,"
"Oh no, daddy," Delilah pleaded, softly tugging at Richie's sleeve, "One lullaby please,"
Richie feigned a sigh deeply, before giving Eddie a wide grin - to which Eddie rolled his eyes, despite the wide smile plastered across his face too.
"There's a song, made specifically for pretty little ladies like you," Richie said, poking Delilah's nose gently. She giggled.
"Sing it,"
"Hey there, Delilah
What's it like in New York city?
I'm a thousand miles away
But, girl, tonight you look so pretty
Yes, you do
Times Square can't shine as bright as you
I swear, it's true.
Hey there, Delilah
Don't you worry about the distance
I'm right there if you get lonely
Give this song another listen
Close your eyes
Listen to my voice, it's my disguise
I'm by your side,
Oh, it's what you do to me
Oh, it's what you do to me
Oh, it's what you do to me
Oh, it's what you do to me
What you do to me,"
Richie sang softly, as Delilah was swept off into a deep slumber. He pressed a final kiss to her forehead, and to Eddie's before leaving the room in silence. Eddie kissed Delilah's forehead, too - before turning on her galaxy nightlight and closing the door with a soft chuk.
Eddie's FairyTale dream had come true, and Richie's childhood dream had come true. The two were truly happy, in a constant state of euphoria.
This was to last as they grew old together. As Richie teased Eddie about his sixty-ninth birthday. As they lay in bed together, steadily growing weaker - yet still together. The love lasted until they passed in each other's arms, Delilah sitting by their side still, softly singing Hey There Delilah as they drifted off into an eternal slumber.
