Hi all! Man, I really need to stop getting ideas when I dog/house-sit for people. However, I will say this was originally an idea I had for my Arrow/Chicago Med/Titans crossover. I just wasn't meant to post or write anything for it until the first fic in this series was posted and honestly, I'm not sure if this is the way Team Arrow (And Team Flash) finds out about Sarah. So here's a quick little two-shot of a what-if scenario.

Rating: Mature

Summary: Mockingbird was a memory. Mockingbird was her past. A ghost that lingered from Gotham and Bruce. A ghost that was ash and soot now. So why was it staring her in the face now?

The Same Little Breaks in Your Soul

Sarah stared mutely at her reflection as it paced the length of her cell in the pipeline of Star Labs in Central City. Only the term reflection wasn’t quite accurate either because Sarah-the one that wasn’t locked up-was alert and awake. Nor did she have the jagged scar that ran down the length of the other Sarah’s face.

“What do you call her?” She wasn’t even sure who she was talking to; there were too many people in the lab. But her gaze found Clark’s. Then she found Connor’s-her boyfriend, not Superboy. He had slipped off the bloody gloves and washed his hands, but the brunette could still see the other Sarah’s blood on his hands from where he had to sew the stab wound in her stomach.

It was Barry Allen, still in his Flash suit, who answered her though. “Like we explained before the universe is actually a multiverse and there are-”

“Fifty-two Earths. Yeah, I got that.” Sarah held up a hand to stop the lengthy explanation, “But what do you call her? Because she isn’t me.”

Yet, the woman pacing around her cell was Sarah Athena Grayson. Same as she was. She could tell from the way the other Sarah held herself. The way she shifted her weight from foot to foot. The downward turn of her lips and the way she wrinkled her forehead. But the faraway look in her eyes? That was all Bruce. If she was being honest though, maybe she was just seeing that look because of the bat-suit and cowl she wore. An exact replica of the one Bruce had made and unveiled on hers and Dick’s eighteenth birthday. A suit she’d rather burn than wear.

Too bad she hadn’t been able to make it to Gotham the night she burned her Mockingbird suit.

“Doppelgängers,” it was Barry again, “They’re us, but just different versions of us.”

Sarah fell silent. Nodding once more, before her eyes shifted to study the other versions of her little brothers: Jason, Tim, and Damien. This was confirmed by three phone calls she made earlier. Her Jason Todd and Tim Drake were in Gotham while Damien Wayne was still in San Francisco with Dick.

Connor was still staring at her; she could tell from her peripheral vision, with that same guarded expression he had been wearing since he saw her dodge a punch Superman and Superboy came at her with and blew kryptonite dust that she kept on hand because old habits die hard, in their faces, before she backflipped and rounded a kick into the younger kryptonian’s chest while launched a punch at Superman.

“How did they get here, if they’re from another Earth?”

“They had to breach here somehow. But another question to ask is why are they here?” Cisco Ramon answered, typing on a keyboard and the footage of the doppelgängers disappeared and was replaced by some kind of security video.

In the video, it was dark and quiet. Nothing had happened yet. Then a large orb-like portal appeared. A second later, Sarah stiffened at the sight of The Joker. He laughed maniacally before he threw something sharp into the portal. Then he took off in a run as the other version of herself fell through the portal. She was clutching her stomach where a dark red maroon spot was forming. She fell. Her prone form on the asphalt of the alleyway.

“Turn it off,” Sarah flinched, even though she knew the other woman would be alright. She, Connor, and Dr. Snow would make sure of it. “Please.”

The footage instantly vanished and it was back to the sight of her reflection pacing the length of her cell once more.

“They were chasing the Joker.” Cal-El slurred his words a little, probably still feeling dizzy from the effects of the kryptonite dust she blew at him and Superboy. She nodded before glancing at the crowd around her, “How closely do these other Earths resemble ours?”

“It varies from Earth to Earth but there is no true way of knowing unless we talk to them.” Barry answered again, “Why?”

“Because Joker is dead on our Earth. Batman killed him after an…emotional breakdown.”

“Are you sure about that?” Oliver asked. He sounded skeptical. Sarah shot him a look, but he didn’t waver in his question or his stare. It was easy to see through his playboy facade now and in its place was something darker.

The Green Arrow and Connor’s brother was The Magician, Information she was given as they rushed to Central City to help save the other Sarah Grayson. (Though no one knew that at the time. All they knew was the call Cisco made to Tommy requesting for his brother because “Caitlin says she needs help with the surgery. She’s never done one.”) Two people who like her, were wearing a version of themselves as a mask. It made her wonder how she missed it. When she didn’t answer, he added: “It’s been my experience that unless you see a body yourself, there is always a chance that the person is still alive.”

The brunette knew the tone and had heard Bruce use it many times before. It was a hard tone that scared people off. Made people not want to question him with an air of finality. But Sarah had grown up with Bruce Wayne as Batman since she was thirteen. She didn’t get scared as easily as some people.

Folding her arms, the brunette stood up straighter and walked a few steps forward so she was directly in front of Oliver.

“Besides the fact that every news outlet in Gotham did a story about it, body included by the way or what was left of it anyways. Batman left my-” she started icily before she caught herself almost revealing Dick’s identity, “-the original Robin with a bloody crowbar. It was filled with the Joker’s blood. Too much blood to be surviveable. So yeah, Oliver. I’m sure.”

“What are you?”

“Excuse me?” Sarah questioned hotly. Connor stepped forward, inserting himself between the two of them.“Oliver. Enough. Come on, it’s already been a rough day.”

“No, it’s not enough. Because she knows way too much about Batman, who’s an urban legend by the way for a normal person. She blew kryptonite dust, something she had on hand, on Clark and his kid with Clark’s disguise in place. Not to mention the way she rounded that kick and made that punch perfectly as if she had been trained to do that. Then you have her.” Oliver pointed a finger at the screen to where the other Sarah was still pacing, “Wearing a suit looking like a Batwoman.”

“Oliver, maybe Connor’s right-” Tommy stepped forward now, keeping a hand between his twin brother and best friend.

“Batman,” Sarah interrupted before she could think about it because Kate deserved that recognition. “There’s already a Batwoman. Both of whom, are not urban legends. Ask the Man of Steel or The Heir to the Demon if you don’t want to believe me.”

Now the Merlyn twin brothers both turned to look at her with the same guarded expression Connor wore earlier in both of their eyes. But it was Tommy who asked quietly, “How do you know about the league?”

“I’m telling you something isn’t adding up about her,” Oliver told them with his voice low and menacing as he shook his head, his gaze narrowing on her. As if the single look would force her to tell him.

“Oliver,” Clark stood up and moved, probably to stop the fight that was brewing between Green Arrow and her. “It’s okay, I can vouch for-”

“She’s the Mockingbird.” Nyssa Al Ghul announced to the room and up until this point she had been ignoring Damien’s aunt, until now Sarah turned to glare at the other woman.

“Al Ghul shut your mouth-” Sarah warned in a snarl, but she knew the damage done. The Fucking League. She hated them almost as much as she hated ninjas.

“Mockingbird as in Batman, Robin, and Mockingbird?” Barry asked, looking from Sarah to Nyssa. His gaze slightly lit up as he eyed Sarah with a renewed interest. But Sarah got the sense it was more of a fanboy moment than lust in his gaze.

“Yes, Mr. Allen.” The heir of the demon inclined her head to the man in the flash suit as she continued to speak. “And Batman’s chosen successor to the cowl but she never accepted the honor of taking the mantle.”

The honor of taking the mantle…More like horror.

“But I thought…Mockingbird was dead? Because they only found the charred remains of her suit in San Francisco five years ago.” Felicity questioned softly as her eyes turned on her.

Sarah flinched again and stepped back from the prying eyes. Yet that didn’t help. She still felt like…like before. Like she was drowning and no matter how hard she swam or tried to keep her head above water, a weight kept weighing her down. Like when her parents died or she put on the suit for the last time.

“You could be a better Batman than me.” Bruce with all of his expectations. The Titans broke up after Garth was killed and…now this other Sarah wearing the Bat cowl.

She was getting sucked back into this world of masks, superheroes and vigilantes. She could feel it. Helping out Dick sporadically over the last few years was only the tipping point back into the world.

“Air,” she muttered to no one in particular because she needed to do something, anything to get away from this drowning feeling weighing her down, “I need air.”

Then, before anyone could say anything to her, Sarah darted out of the laboratory.

Kara stretched while sitting on the sofa in the living room of Wayne Manor. She was currently sitting next to Barry while Diana, Bruce, and Oliver sat on the chairs opposite of them.

Barry yawned and said, “I am kind of surprised that Damian wasn’t the first one here. He seemed really excited about the prospect of playing.”

“I can assure you I have been here the entire time Flash.”

Barry yelped as Damian suddenly appeared behind Barry.

After catching his breath, Barry turned around to Damian, frowned and asked, “Where the hell did you come from?”

Damian smirked and said, “Don’t be mad that you didn’t suspect my presence.” Damian patted Flash on the back and said, “Maybe if you are nice I can give you pointers on stealth.”

Barry rolled her eyes while Kara chuckled.

“You have the stealth thing down Damian. I was barely able to detect your heartbeat which I am not sure if that is something I should be amazed or worry about,” said Kara.

Damian smirked and said, “One day I will surprise you Supergirl.”

Kara smirked and said, “I look forward to the challenge.”

Damian turned to his father and asked, “Father, did Drake, Todd, or Grayson say when they will be here?”

Bruce nodded and said, “They just finished up a mission and will be here in about 15 minutes. Why?”

Damian smirked and said, “It will give Supergirl, Flash, and me a chance to talk about strategy. I see that you brought the heavy hitters with you, but I suggest you take the time we have to do the same.” Damian turned towards Kara and Flash and said, “Come. We have much to discuss.”

Diana and Oliver stared at the trio startled as Kara and Barry shrugged their shoulders and followed Damian out of the living room.

Oliver turned to Bruce as with a raised eyebrow and said, “When you told me about this, you said it would be a nice game of paintball. Why do I have a feeling now that it will be something similar to war games?”

Bruce sighed and said, “Knowing Damian it is or it could be a dig at the fact that I have lost every game night since we started this about a month or two ago.”

Oliver bursted out laughing and asked, “Wait….you’re telling me….the great detective….hasn’t won anything yet. You can’t be serious.”

Bruce pinched the bridge of his nose and said, “Please don’t make me regret asking you to come tonight.”

Oliver wiped a tear from his eye and said, “I’m sorry. I just didn’t see that coming is all.”

Diana chuckled while patting Bruce on the back and said, “Don’t worry. We will make sure that this isn’t another losing streak for you.”

Bruce leaned back into his chair, sighed, and said, “I hope so.”

Kara and Barry sat on Damian’s bed as they watched Damian go through his wardrobe in search of something.

Barry yawned and asked, “So what is this secret strategy that you want to discuss so badly.”

Damian turned around and carried a box to his bed. He opened the box and smirked while looking at the contents inside.

Barry looked at Damian hesitantly and asked, “Whatever you have inside the box isn’t alive, is it?”

Damian scoffed and said, “You have an overactive imagination, Barry.”

He looked back down in the box, grabbed two gift bags, and handed them to Barry and Kara.

While peeking inside the gift bag, Kara asked, “What are these for?”

Damian smirked and said, “To win, we need to show team spirit. I thought a good start of that was having a team uniform.”

Kara and Barry looked down at the gift bags in surprise. Each gift bag had several clothing items: a black shirt with the words “Worlds Finest” with their logos directly underneath it (Supergirl symbol, lightning symbol, and a bat symbol), a baseball hat with the same imagery as the t-shirt, black pants, and black gym shoes.

Barry looked back up at Damian shocked and said, “These are really nice. You didn’t have to go through all this trouble.”

Damian looked down while grabbing his uniform from the box and said, “I know I didn’t have to, but we should go in as a united front if doing this. It will help with morale.”

Barry and Kara turned to look at each other and smirked.

Damian frowned and asked, “What is that look for?”

Kara smiled and said, “It is nice to see that you care is all. This is very sweet of you.”

Damian scowled and said, “It isn’t that big of a deal.”

Barry chuckled and said, “Dude, just take the compliment. I know that I will be wearing this a lot after today.”

Damian looked up surprised and asked, “Really?”

Kara chuckled and said, “Of course. I can’t wait to wear it and show it to Lena later.”

Damian looked down while rubbing the back of his neck and said, “I am glad that you guys like the items.”

Damian cleared his throat and said, “Anyways…” He walked over to his nightstand and grabbed out his laptop while Kara and Barry chuckled among themselves. They enjoyed seeing a little vulnerable side to Damian.

As Damian started typing on his laptop, he turned it towards the duo and said, “I found out that we will be playing in the bat cave. I went out and took photos in order to make a 3d rendering of the space. I thought we can discuss which spaces in the cave would give us the best advantage points.”

Barry raised an eyebrow and asked, “Isn’t this supposed to be just a friendly game between peers?”

Damian scowled and asked, “What rock have you been living under? This is a test to prove myself to Father that I can go back into the field. He is trying to make this extra difficult since he requested the assistance of Arrow and the Amazon princess.”

Barry sighed and asked, “Don’t you think you are being a tad bit overdramatic? The more likely reason why he asked Wonder Woman and Green Arrow here today is because Bruce got tired of being in last place all the time.”

Damian gave Barry a deadpan stare.

Barry rolled his eyes and said, “Fine. If you really think this is some conspiracy of people being out to get you, what do you suggest our course of action is?”

Pov. T/n convince Dick a prendersi una vacanza.

t/n entro nell'ufficio di Dick alla centrale di polizia e si sedete sulla sua sedia e resto lì finche la porta dell'ufficio si apri ed entrò Dick.

"tesoro cosa ci fai qui pensa che fossi con le ragazze?" disse Dick. "lo ero poi ho deciso di venire qui ma prima sono passata da sturbucks e ti ho presso il tuo Frappuccino preferito." disse t/n e gli diede il frappuccino. "grazie tesoro, ma penso che ci sia altro." disse Dick.

"hai ragione sono qui anche per dirti che hai bisogno di una vacanza." disse t/n. "tesoro." inizio Dick, ma t/n lo interruppe "tesoro niente Dick stai lavorando troppo non dormi più di tre ore ormai da due settimane devi prenderti una pausa e su questo non si discute." disse t/n testardemente.

Dick sospiro e annui "bene aspetta qui vado dal capo e mi prendo una settimana di vacanza ok." disse Dick. t/n annui sorridendo. Dick usci dal suo ufficio per andare a parlare con il suo capo. Quando torno nel suo ufficio trovo t/n che girava sulla sua sedia.

"tesoro." chiamo Dick facendola fermare. "si ?" chiese t/n. "sono ufficialmente in ferie" disse Dick. "bene andiamo a casa." disse t/n saltando in piedi e battendo le mani. i due uscirono mano nella mano dalla stazione di polizia.

Il giorno dopo

Dick e t/n scesero dall'aereo e presero un taxi per andare all'albergo che avevano prenotato. i due entrarono. "finalmente siamo arrivati alla Hawaii." strillo t/n. Dick rise "sono felice che ti piaccia tesoro" disse Dick.

"lo adoro mettiamoci il costume e andiamo al mare non vedo l'ora di andare a fare una nuotata e poi al pomeriggio andiamo alla spa e sta sera ristorante." disse t/n. "va bene tesoro una cosa alla volta mettiamoci il costume e scendiamo in spiaggia" disse Dick. t/n e Dick si misero il costume e scesero giù in spiaggia e si tuffarono in mare.

Al pomeriggio

"sbrigati Dick abbiamo la prenotazione per la spa alle 16:30 e sono già le 16:25 dai che se no arriviamo in ritardo." disse t/n. "tesoro sono pronto andiamo" disse Dick. Dick e t/n arrivarono alla spa dell'albergo. "buon pomeriggio signori avete prenotato?." disse la receptionist. "si abbiamo prenotato a nome Grayson." disse Dick.

la receptionist controllo il computer. "bene allora questi sono le chiavi per gli armadietti cambiatevi e andate alla stanza 22 per i massaggi e poi la stanza 33 per l'inizio del percorso rilassante." disse la receptionist. "ok grazie mille" disse t/n prese le chiavi e prese la mano di Dick e li porto agli spogliatogli.

Dick e t/n avevano appena finito di fare il massaggio e il percorso rilassante stavano tornando nella loro stanza d'albergo. "la spa e il massaggio è stata l'idea migliore della tua vita mi serviva proprio." disse Dick. "te l'avevo detto che avevi bisogno di una vacanza" disse t/n. "ti giuro che non dubiterò mai più delle tue parole." disse Dick. "ti conviene" disse t/n lanciandogli un finto sguardo serio che fecce scoppiare a ridere tutti e due.

La sera

Dick stava aspettando che t/n fosse pronta per la cena mentre si guardava allo specchio. "tesoro sei pronta." urlo Dick. "si, sono pronta." disse t/n uscendo dal bagno. "allo che ne dici." disse t/n girando su se stessa. Indossava un abito nero elegante.

"tesoro sei magnifica." disse Dick. "grazie anche tu sei stupendo." disse t/n baciando Dick. "è meglio che andiamo a mangiare se non vuoi che cambi idea tesoro." disse Dick. "hai ragione andiamo a cena che sta sera ti aspetta il dessert" disse t/n. "oh mi piace quello che sento." disse Dick. T/n rise "andiamo." disse t/n. "prima le signore." disse Dick aprendogli la porta.

I only saw, like, a couple episodes of Arrow... Please tell me what it is about that specific 'verse that has you hooked? (Genuine ask, permission to gush and rant granted.)

lol okay this will probably be long so rant after the cut :)

so my first foray into the Arrowverse was actually Titans which I feel like is more Arrowverse-adjacent since there's like no crossovers with that show. I started watching because I'd just rewatched 2003's Teen Titans and wanted more content about my beloved blorbos, particularly Dick Grayson, and boy was I impressed! I finished the first two seasons within like a couple weeks I think? which is big for me cause I'm really slow at going through shows lol and then while I waited for season 3 to come out I decided I'd watch Supergirl and I also immediately loved that show though it's significantly lighter than Titans, Kara is absolutely lovely as a character and I really enjoy Melissa Benoit's portrayal of her. also Alex??? I feel her in my soul, she's basically me if I was a cis lesbian lol

fell in love with Barry in the crossover episodes (he's so adorable and genuine how could I not???) so my next show was The Flash and omg season 1 was just great can't get enough it introduces almost all my favorite characters and it's just so fun!

overall the characters in all the shows are super endearing, the plotlines while sometimes a little shaky are usually at the very least fun and suspenseful, and I'm always a sucker for watching heroes learn how to balance being a hero and normal everyday life

I still have yet to see Arrow, Stargirl, Batwoman, or Doom Patrol; considering I hate the actor for Ollie I dunno if I ever will actually watch Arrow but I do like Felicity so it's up in the air lol my advice for anyone wanting to watch Arrowverse shows: pretend they all end after season 4. seriously, every Arrowverse show I've seen sucks after season 4 and it's so disappointing lol

I do love giving personalities and lore to my ocs parents. Like it just adds more depth to my ocs and is generally pretty fun? And not just my ocs, some canon characters too. And I'm gonna talk about my two favorites ( next to Jazz, Soul and Grayson)

Felicity and Hop's mom ( I FORGOT HER NAME AND I'M MAD ABOUT IT) are both grieving widows who have to balance taking care of their kids while keeping things afloat. I feel like neither of them properly grieved over their lost husbands.

Hop's mom especially, since I feel she immediately started to stress over work and stuff, as well as taking care of Leon and Hop. The best way I can describe her is a more stern Camilla from TOH. She cares deeply for her sons, and genuinely want them to be happy and thrive, but there's also this....barrier between them. A lack of understanding? Hop clearly craves an affection that's different from how Leon and his mom shows it, for one. And I also feel like the loss of her husband kinda made her just a bit emotionally unavailable? Only a bit, she's not as bad as Cassandra ( Carol's mom) who always had a sense of apathy/ resentment towards her child. But for Hop's mom, I feel like it would be hard for Hop to talk to her about things? Both Hop and Leon, especially Leon with kinda being what keeps them afloat. In general, the Ramírez family's ( the surname I have them btw) situation is very messy and complicated. There's not much clear communication between them. And let me be clear, Mama Ramírez loves her babies. She would do whatever it takes to make sure they are happy and healthy. But even with all that love, she's prone to make mistakes. Mistakes that can- and kinda did- cause a rift in her family. Post Swsh, I definitely see her making steps to better help her boys and herself, since again, she never properly grieved over her husband. She never let herself be emotional about what happened, or a lot of things really. Hell, I bet the darkest day was the first time in a long time Hop and Leon ever saw their mom cry. Openly. What I'm saying is that this family needs therapy.

Felicity by comparison almost seems like the more sweeter of the two? She isn't as stern as Ms. Ramírez, and is more in tune with her own emotions. But Soul's death really affected her. Not in the same way as Naomi, where she got Cursed-Chosen, but in how she worries. A lot. Naturally, it's fine to worry, but when it comes to Naomi her worrying kinda hinders Naomi's growth. I don't think Felicity is the cause for Naomi's meekness- she has always been shy and anxious - but she didn't help with it either? I feel like Felicity inadvertently made Naomi feel like she couldn't go past what she's used too. She doesn't mean for it to be that way, obviously, she wants her daughter to grow and become who she wants to be, but her actions kinda make it hard? I don't know how to really describe my thought process here. Felicity isn't strict, she doesn't make Naomi follow hard set rules ( minus the wields thing but that's kinda universal among the town) and she does her best to encourage her when trying new things. But she's also kinda... restrictive? I don't know how to describe it. Just that parental worry getting in the way, I guess ( and I know that it's fine for a parent to worry, just maybe she's doing it too much? Again,idk).
