#396. In Pokémon Black and White, Players are required to capture their respective Reshiram or Zekrom at N’s Castle in order to progress.
However if the Player has a full Party and no space in the Pokémon Storage System, they will be forced to defeat said Pokémon, causing them to disappear, the story will still progress though.
If this occurs Players can actually rebattle the Pokémon at Dragonspiral Tower after the end credits to prevent permanent loss of the Pokémon.
In Generation 6 and Pokémon Sword and Shield, a Storage Box is locked off until Players have caught Xerneas or Yveltal in X or Y, Rayquaza in Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire, and Eternatus in Sword and Shield. (X)(X)

The Eternal Flower Files: Sacred Geometry
Tumblr media
Eternal Flower Floette is the mysterious, special Floette that AZ inherited from his late mother. It wields a strange, ancient red flower that holds terrifying power:
"Terrifying energy is concealed within its ominous flower, but Floette still swings it about innocently." (UltraMoon)
So. What is the Eternal Flower?
We associate flowers with the cycle of life in general - they bloom, they wilt, and then the plant grows again. When it comes to the symbolism around Eternal Flower, we see this theme of "life, death, and rebirth" over and over, likely referring to Floette's resurrection.
Tumblr media
Flowers are a prominent symbol in Sacred Geometry. In some New Age beliefs, the ancient Flower of Life pattern symbolizes life, death, and rebirth, as well as the interconnected universe. The pattern maps onto the Eternal Flower pretty well.
Tumblr media

Certainly Eternal Flower Floette is powerful and significant in the lore, but this connection might suggest that the Eternal Flower itself has broader powers than just destroying things.
Many flower symbols are drawn with overlapping circles, which represent a continuous, eternal cycle. When writing about the Flower of Life, people often compare the progression of each phase of the pattern to cell division. What Pokemon do we know that represents cells?

Another major flower symbol is the triquetra, an ancient trinity symbol that comes from three overlapping circles. (Shown in the third phase of the Flower of Life diagram.) The Eternal Flower is made up of three triquetrae, really emphasizing the number three:

In many Christian denominations, the triquetra symbolizes the Holy Trinity. In Celtic tradition, the triquetra, or the trinity knot, can, again symbolize the cycle of life, death, and rebirth. There is also a stylized triquetra on either side of AZ's Ultimate Weapon:

My approximation of the Ultimate Weapon symbol.
This is yet another connection between the Eternal Flower and the Ultimate Weapon - besides the fact that it blooms into a giant version of the Eternal Flower. Did AZ use the power of the Eternal Flower to build the Ultimate Weapon?
The Flower of Life pattern also seems to point to a strong relationship between Eternal Flower Floette and Zygarde. It's actually an effective symbol for Zygarde, considering how people compare the phases of the Flower of Life to cell division. Also, each individual bloom in the of the Flower of Life pattern is hexagonal.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Zygarde pic from Bulbapedia.
Every inch of Zygarde is a hexagon. Imagine, each of them as a continuing Flower of Life pattern the same way a palace wall is covered with it.
If Xerneas and Yveltal symbolize life and death, then Zygarde fittingly represents rebirth, as a collection of cells that can take a number of forms. This also fits the title "Z-A" which many fans have taken to mean "the end, and a new beginning". That begs the question: what is beginning? What is being reborn?
...
Check out my theory that Zygarde used to be the Tree of Life, as well as my other posts about Pokemon Legends: Z-A here:

Serena from Pokémon X&Y! (Journeys Outfit)
Tumblr media
Another colored pencil drawing and this time it’s Serena! This is her Pokémon Journeys outfit from JN105. I actually have another one of her though I like the ears here a bit better.
I think the neck, ears, and body to head proportions are definitely wonky here. Notice how I drew the hands behind her back. I don’t feel like drawing hands right now lol.
Also, this is my current profile pic for @jollyreblogs which you should check out as I reblog many amazing artists there.

I love Kalos, and I love Mega evolutions. I truly thought they were a natural progression for the series as a whole, and not just a gimmick. Their disappearance and replacement was upsetting.
Just one problem.
Are we supposed to just forget that in Gen 7, Pokémon decided to villify Mega Evolution, and told us in the pokédex that using it is akin to abuse, and is sometimes even LETHAL to them???!

Professor Sycamore???
Tumblr media
Professor Sycamore has a Ryu Number of 2.
(explanation below)
As is typical of Legendary Pokémon, only one of Yveltal is presumed to exist and can be encountered in any copy of Pokémon Y without external assistance, and Yveltal can also be seen in the background of the Prism Tower stage in Smash for 3DS.

#369. In a cutscene in the ending of Pokémon X and Y, a 6th form of Floette is seen, the Eternal Flower Floette.
Although not seen at any other point or in any other game, full data for a usable Eternal Flower Floette exists in the data of Generations VI and VII, including sprites, shiny sprites and a menu sprite, its own unique cry, base stats different to regular Floette, the ability to learn the exclusive move Light of Ruin at level 50, and in Pokémon Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon, its own Pokédex entry separate from regular Floette. It also cannot evolve nor can it produce eggs. (X)(X)

Pokemon Legends: Z-A: What is Λ?
Tumblr media
Lo! It's a Λ!
When you take the Z off of Z-A, you're left with Λ, or the Greek letter lambda. So what does this lambda mean? What is the Λ in Pokemon Legends: Z-A?
This Λ is most likely the symbol for the Infinity Energy coming from AZ's Ultimate Weapon.  Infinity Energy is the reoccurring power from Generation VI. It's sometimes created from the life energy of Pokemon, but not always. Some fans like BirdKeeperToby use the term to refer to the energy, power, or magic that Pokemon use in general.
In the real world, Λ is tied up in all sorts of equations of radiation and light, so it fits perfectly with Infinity Energy.  The most powerful and prolific energy associated with Λ is dark energy.
Now, a disclaimer: I'm not a physicist, so I might get some of this wrong. I'll try my best to stick to the sources.
Albert Einstein used the letter Λ to symbolize the Cosmological Constant, a hidden factor in the universe that counteracted the force of gravity and kept the universe static, neither getting bigger or smaller.  Except, he miscalculated.  The universe wasn't just expanding, the expansion was accelerating.  (Source: LiveScience)
Tumblr media
Image from HubbleSite
In the 1990's, scientists named the hidden force dark energy.  It's the hidden factor that is pushing against gravity, causing the universe to expand.  And while it's invisible to the eye, and accelerating too far to access, some scientists believe that in billions of years the expansion could rip apart the universe. (Source: LiveScience)
It feels like a very anime idea, like something from Gurren Lagann. An overload of crazy, accelerating energy (three-fourths of the universe!) that expands the universe beyond its limitations.  We could liken dark energy to the untapped potential of Pokemon. Pokemon have special powers and abilities, but in certain circumstances, they can unlock a special potential within them that allows them to evolve their limits.
Tumblr media
Mega Stones were created when the blast from the Ultimate Weapon irradiated normal evolutionary stones with Infinity Energy. When a Pokemon Mega Evolves, it reveals within them a potential that was hitherto unknown, energy that lets them expand beyond their limits, just like dark energy expands the universe past the force of gravity.
Of course, there are other things that Λ can symbolize.  Lowercase lambda (λ) symbolizes half-life, and radiation is tied closely with Pokemon evolution itself.  The Mega Stones were "irradiated" with Infinity Energy.  λ is also used to symbolize wavelengths on the electromagnetic spectrum, including light, which works well with Lumiose City's Prism Tower.  (Wikipedia) Lumiose City is after all, based on the Paris, the City of Lights.
While I find Dark Energy the most exciting explanation for the Λ on the cover of Legends: Z-A, our big green Λ probably incorporates multiple concepts of energy and light into the idea of Infinity Energy.  Infinity Energy is the connective tissue of Generation VI, so it's very likely that it will appear in Legends: Z-A again.  While this doesn't tell us much about the game itself, it might give us an idea why GameFreak used the letter Λ.
