I'm moving over to focusing on my more longform fics! But I have a bunch being planned, so I wanted to know which one had the most interest!

It's Not Really a Secret - The continuation, and completion, of the already long ago started Merlin fic. Uther discovers Merlin has magic, but Merlin discovers he's immortal. I've got a further 5k words written for it already!

Title-less Good Omens x MCU Spider-Man crossover - Post s2 Crowley needs a change of scenry, and with the help of some friends, he finds himself living in a shitty apartment owned by a shady landlord. Post NWH Peter is struggling with his new life, but at least he's not homeless anymore even if his apartment is odd and his landlord is shady to say the least. (It's a neighbours crossover basically)

The Misadventures of Rose Tyler - A series of 17 3-8 chapter fics following an immortal Rose Tyler as she tries desperately to return to her birth universe. Hijinks ensue in other universes, sometimes crossover hijinks.

Peter Parker, Totally Not a Half-Blood - Peter Parker is perfectly ordinary, he's not sure why so many people seem to think he's not. His spider-like nature is entirely because of the spider-bite. So what if he already had spider-like allergies before the bite? Or a love of high places? Or weaving? He's not, despite what so many may say, the son of Arachne

Title-less Doctor Who x MCU crossover - The Doctor and Rose find themselves stranded in an alternate universe. Despite their best efforts, the Tardis refuses to move, at all. They have no choice but to blend in. Rose get's a job at Midtown School Of Science and Technology, and gets pulled into chapheoring on the school trip to Stark Industries. Along with helping out with that, her and the Doctor have figured out that Spider-Man is young and feel the need to help him out.

Married Life - A Doctor Who Series 2 AU with the Doctor and Rose being married, featuring episode rewrites, original adventures, and plenty of hijinks

Title-less Hells Belles x MCU crossover - When the blip happened, half the entire universe ended up in the grand lobby of the after life. Several volounteers and employees of the Front Deathsk had watched parts of the blip happen. The blipped don't count as dead, and as such can't face universal judgement. Between the hellp desk, the front deathsk, and several blipped heroes, they figure out a pocket dimension for half the universe. In this pocket dimension, on it's Earth, Peter reveals his identity as Spider-man, mostly because he'd already spent days wandering around in the ruined suit helping out. When the blip gets reversed, the majority of the blipped Earth resiednts keep Peter's identity secret, those that try to reveal who he is aren't believed. When his identity is revealed, the blipped try to help him out. This one is the most convoluted and would take a lot of planning!!

End of year wip round-up

Time to look through my files of notes and see what plots I have still waiting attention, and perhaps assess where they are in the scale of projects. Colour coded for riddlebird, hattercrow, wahsbands or octogoblin. I'm always open to questions on my projects. In fact, please do ask if you want to encourage them to be written.

Starting with some I have posted as unfinished works.

OTT (LEGO Batman) : I intend to post a second chapter for this, showing how well Riddler's plan turns out.

Gay Attorney (Gotham/Ace Attorney) : This is supposed to have multiple chapters with the various 'witnesses' taking the stand.

Little Bird (Batwoman) : Not sure where this is heading but a follow up chapter seems necessary.

P.I. Riddler (DC comics) : I have an outline of the idea for this but not sure how many chapters it will require to complete.

Urban Legends (Batman - all media) : There is going to be a continuation here with other rogues making an appearance.

What Is Reality? (Btas) : I already have a second chapter started and a concept of where its going, including a 'final' scene.

A few extra Mahou AU story ideas.

Killer Croc vs Jonathan (Arkhamverse) : This is an interesting conflict I'd like to write.

Grown up Ed gets powers (Burtonschumacher) : We only saw one half of this duo in my first story so it seems fair to bring in Riddler.

Take A Chance on Me (Arkhamverse) : Pitting the pair against the machinations of Hugo Strange.

Oz mentors Ed (The Batman) : Does what it says on the tin.

The Curse of Alice (1960s) : Again an interesting development I'd like to explore.

Future Hattercrow (Gotham) : Not sure about this but considering this pair twenty years further on.

The Telltale series.

You Only Live Twice : Oswald is being mentored but demands Edward treat him as an equal if he truly respects him.

For Your Eyes Only : Edward gets trapped by the Agency and suffers their virus before returning to Oswald.

The Spy Who Loved Me : Oswald helps Edward through the aftereffects, unwilling to lose anyone else to madness.

Live and Let Die : Riddler is planning his return to Gotham, letting Oswald into the secrets of his past to convince him.

The Living Daylights : A continuation of the story arc.

New stand alone ideas.

Babysitter : Wario is cajoled into babysitting Bowser's kids and calls Waluigi in for reinforcements.

Sherrif Wario : Waluigi rides into town and immediately gets called a trouble maker by the Mario bros. Wario makes his own assessment.

Good Omens : A friend suggested Alfred Molina as Aziraphale and Willem Dafoe as Crowley which is a fantastic idea.

Fate Or Something Like It : I really wanted to consider the timeline after Norman got back from No Way Home. How he might try to save Otto from his fate.

Old Friends, Bitter Enemies : I watched the Spider-man PS game and love the dynamic of Norman and Otto. It would be worth playing with.

Skyscraper : Basically a PWP. Be fun to write.

Misunderstandings : Oswald overhears Ed saying something he shouldn't.

Batman vs Dracula (2004 cartoon) : A re-write of the film except bringing Riddler into the story.

Halloween Topsy Turvy : A fancy dress party at the Lounge causes feelings to run high.

Streamer Ed (btas) : Ed works as a streamer, with Jon and Jervis as mods, and a habit of review Iceberg Lounge promotional videos.

Gotham Gossip (Gotham) : Newspaper column style fic charting their rising and falling relationship. I still like this concept but am struggling with the media.

Kids museum meeting (comics) : A look back at how they might have met as children.

Secret Admirer : Where both Oswald and Ed are the other's secret admirer.

Tattoos (comics) : Oswald has tattoos - Ed is intrigued.

Olga My Queen (1960s/Gotham) : What if the Queen of Cossacks was Oswald's maid?

Gotta Shape Up (Harley Quinn series) : ngl I lost impetus with this show but I still like this idea - Ed having to step up with Joshua after Oswald's demise.

The King Is Dead : Similar concept in that it looks at how Riddler might react in the wake of Penguin's demise.

Wrap You Around My Finger : Ed is new to Gotham and thinks it'll be easy to cajole favours from Penguin. He is wrong.

Western AU : I wanted a fic with Jonathan on a horse thus this idea was born.

Are We Friends? (Gotham) : Ed struggles to pin down just what their relationship is during Oswald's eye recovery period. Again, not super confident writing in this media now.

Rogues Go Skiing (LEGO) : Cutesy vacation style slice of life.

Arkham sitcom : Exactly as it says, chapters done with mini plots happening, all within Arkham asylum.

Bookshop (1960s) : Penguin owns a book store and has suitors competing for him - Riddler vs Bookworm

Pre-Arkham : What if Jon and Jervis met before either became rogues?

Trans Oswald (The Batman) : Not actually a romantic fic but more angsty, considering what if he'd had a child in his younger years.

Merman Oz (2004 cartoon) : I just like the visual of him as a mermaid.

What You Love Most (Arkhamverse) : Another angsty piece where Ed doesn't realise Oswald's feelings.

Drive-in Movie (Batwheels) : Simultaneous riddlebird and Ducky/Quizz.

Music Meister (Arkhamverse) : Don't tell me the concept of Oz being forced to sing isn't hilarious.

Rumour Mill : Jonathan steps in when rumours spread about Jervis.

Trans Ed (Arkhamverse) : I wanted to write Oz facing his own transphobia but I'm not sure I can do the topic with the required sensitivity.

Hypnotism : As a hattercrow fan, its almost a rite of passage to write Jervis using his powers on Jon.

Merry Little Batman : I'm always drawn to new media variations.

La Passe-Miroir/The Mirror Visitor ask game: give me a character's name and I will give you three headcanons + an AU! one for them

Blasius

1 - Whenever there is an insect, a spider or a scorpion in the house, he doesn't kill it (not because he doesn't have the coordination for it nor because the smell of freshly killed arthropods is unbearable to his Olfactive nose, but because he doesn't want to kill animals if he can help it), he uses the glass + paper method and releases it outside

2 - He began practicing yoga, hoping it would help him less clumsy; and while it didn't do miracles for his coordination (he regularly falls in the middle of asanas), he kept practicing because he felt better afterwards

3 - He can tell when a dish is done cooking only by the smell (to his parents' dismay, his powers are the most efficient when it comes to food)

AU! - His parents wanted him to follow their steps and become a nose for luxury perfume brands, just like them; so they were réal mad and disappointed he didn't nothing of the sorts and began working in a library because the smell of books was one of his favourite

Wolf

1 - He isn't a morning person, he is definitely a "don't talk to me until I've had my coffee" (nor after the coffee for that matter) type

2 - He easily gets freckles when he spends too much time under the sun (which never happens given he spends his time scooped up at the Secretarium, the Good Family, his home or Blasius')

3 - He is secretly a cat dad (yes, the irony to not like canines when you're named after one) and can't resist petting cats, even if it means spending half an hour picking all the feline hair out of his black garments

AU! - He would totally be a military historian and, convinced what actually happened around the Tear is a heavily curated version, would be spending his time trying to get special exemptions to consult the relevant archives.

Wolf/Blasius

(because why not, we need moar content for them!)

1 - It's no secret that Wolf is perpetually grumpy, even around Blasius; hence the latter's surprise, when he realized that Wolf almost always smiled when they kissed ( when he pointed that out, Wolf blushed a bit and grumbled an unintelligible answer)

2 - The first time Blasius went to Wolf's, he saw a black cat on the doorstep and immediately began to wonder if it was a bad omen. Turns out, it was just a stray cat that hangs in the block and that Wolf often feeds and pets (and despite his wariness of cats, discovering Wolf was a doting cat dad just made Blasius fall a little more in love with him).

3 - Wolf never once complained about Blasius' clumsiness, no matter how many times he got harmed or his things got damaged as a result

AU! - They'd be both into alternative music: Wolf more into hc punk and black metal, and Blasius into post-punk/wave/goth stuff (Wolf makes a whole show of groaning every time before going to a goth/alt night with Blasius, but once there he actually enjoys himself there and eventually began to two-step on certain Sisters of Mercy songs)

OUR SUN SETS — tour reflections edition

Hello darling friend, Whoaaaaah it’s been a minute since I wrote. Something died inside my laptop, and I’ve been putting off the repair for a few months (stubborn refusal to form a relationship with another bit of tech?), but the realisation that I was actively not doing my job due to not having one made me bite the bullet. How have you been??? Last time we spoke I was in South America, just about to turn twenty six, at the tail end of a big year of shows. Got off the plane in New Zealand and torpedoed straight into bed with a fevery cold, emerged a week later into the chaos of December, typically the start of the beautiful summer days here, instead that of several months of storms and humid rain. I wrote this, back then: “I’m playing this song my brother showed me, Mariella, over and over. It sounds like how I feel these days, soft with some pain, the voice of someone who’s touched a lot of beautiful things. This year has wrung me out. I’m a rag. I’m the t-shirts and underwear I hand-washed in so many hotel sinks. Christmas is a tall wave and I haven’t bought anyone gifts.” Always amused by the drama of the past self! Had some lush swims between the storms, cooked a lot of fish, set off on the Aus/NZ tour feeling relaxed and unwound.

A couple days ago, we played the last official sundial-and-eight-band-members show for Solar Power, the last of 70 shows in 20 countries (!!). I feel actual pride in myself, something that’s extremely hard for me to let myself feel, not just for completing it but for loving it, relaxing into it, feeling really open and free and not tight and fearful like tours past. I want to thank you for your part. I’ve always felt that pop music is a collaboration between artist and audience, that a pop song isn’t truly finished until listeners add their voices to it, and I think the same goes for your participation in the show. You show up and you sing every word, and all of our voices is what we all hear. At this stage in the piece I feel there are no casual fans, just people singing extremely loudly and clearly for 100+ minutes, and the commitment and generosity of this is not lost on me. The final show in Perth was an encapsulation of how special and right this tour has felt. We played at a beautiful grass and stone amphitheatre outside the city. I cried at soundcheck thanking the crew, overwhelmed by the love and care behind this group of people working so hard to get it right for me. At showtime the stars were clear and you could smell eucalyptus mixing with the smoke machine. We did the show for the last time looking over at one another and smiling, savouring all the last times we’d do things. I took my place for Royals and in the first flash of white light I saw a silk thread. In the next flash I followed the thread down to find a thick black spider, maybe an inch and a half long, two feet away from my eyes. I gasped and drew the microphone towards me, watched it slowly travel all the way back up the truss. Some kind of special omen.

Touring this record changed how I heard and saw the album — I wonder if you felt this too? — showed me that a work is constantly shifting and in progress, the definition changing all the time. Looking back yesterday at some of your pictures from the show, sourced by the very dedicated and special twitter account Lorde_fix, I realised that you give me the opportunity to see myself in states of power, glory, grace, sides of myself I don’t think I’d be able to access or see as clearly if not for these nights together.

I said onstage that night that making and touring this album has set so much right inside me, I truly think it’s bought me decades in this bizzzzniz, can’t wait to show you what I mean. I finish this chapter feeling for the first time not like I need to get away from the world but like I want to get deeper inside it, more countries, more flavours, more life. Okay but in my head I’m imagining Cellbit + the Brazilians + the French all being “newer” gods as in like the second generation. The og islanders + the “New Guys” from the ice prison are the older gods and they’re kinda just chilling

So Cellbit, new god, was probably human before he ascended into godhood because I think that’s Neat. Same logic as Heaven Official’s Blessing maybe, where you become a god if enough people believe in you. And a lot of people believed in him when he was on earth because he. Kinda killed a lot of people in a Big Human War.

But he isn’t worshipped because he’s a killer. He isn’t a war god. He’s a cat god because he was famous for his soft spot for animals, especially cats. You’d see an entire city devoid of human life, but the cats would still remain.

He used to be a little bitter about this but he’s kinda mellowed out over the past several thousand years and now he’s like “Yeah, I’m the cat god. No, I don’t kill people, the knife is for aesthetic”. That being said, some people still pray to him in hopes of winning a battle and, if too many people ask for help killing people, maybe he gets a little caught up in the bloodlust himself and has to be brought back under control before he starts stabbing gods (again)

Anyway so one of the gods he got closest to early on was Roier, one of the ogs, because the god of spiders is a war god in some parts of the world- spies, mostly, but covert operations and guerrilla stuff. Back in the day, he used to hang around Roier both to learn how to actually be a god (they’re both patrons of animals, they have pretty similar duties) and because maybe he himself used to worship the god of spiders as a human and he lowkey still does. Maybe.

Long story short, they fall in love and become the first gods to marry and together they get some kind of joint title like you suggested. Goth people love them

9 People You’d Like To Get To Know Better

I was tagged by @weethreequarter, who for some reason I can't properly tag back. Though while I was trying to figure out why, I discovered that somehow tumblr had randomly un-followed them for me (so helpful, tumblr is!) so I'm glad to have fixed that!

Last song: I mostly only listen to music in the car, so according to my playlist randomizer, the last thing I was listening to was "Sweet Dreams (Are Made of This)" by the Eurythmics.

Favorite color: It's hard to say. Blue was my favorite color for a long time, but it was red for a while, too, and I'm super fond of, like, peacock blue-green and rich purples. Mostly I just really like jewel tones.

Currently watching: Not really anything at the moment. I finally got around to watching Staged (just S1) but I binged that all in one night; before that I'd seen S2 of Good Omens (and am still processing the heartbreak) and the second half of S3 of Witcher.

Last movie: In the theater? It was either Across the Spider-Verse or Honor Among Thieves (the D&D movie); I can't remember which order I saw them in. On my laptop, @monobuu and I co-watched No Reservations because she had an AU idea.

Currently reading: Fanfics, pretty much entirely. I've been poking back through my older bookmarked fics and re-reading them, and keeping up with new/ongoing fics as they hit my notifications.

Sweet/spicy/savory: I'm a massive wimp when it comes to spicy things, though I like a little bit of spicy from time to time. And my sweet tooth has been forcibly dialed back over the last year or so because sugar is one of the primary triggers for my heartburn, which is not just unpleasant but super painful when it hits my stomach ulcer. (But I still really like sweet things, I just hit the "okay I've had enough now" limit a lot sooner than I used to.) And savory is nice, too. Look, I just really like food.

Relationship status: divorced, officially 10 years next month, actually. I sort of wouldn't mind dating but I don't want to put any actual work into finding someone to date. Anyone want to be my extremely low-effort long-distance significant other? 😂

Current obsession: Good Omens is currently front and center, but it's not like I've stopped obsessing about my favorite ships in other fandoms (Dreamling, Geraskier, Winteriron)

Last thing I googled: How to do a thing I was trying to do LibreOffice. Before that, looking up whether some minor health issues I'm currently having might be related to oncoming menopause.

Currently working on: Teaching myself some bookbinding, and a cross-stitch project. I have several writing projects open in their tabs, but every time I look at them, my brain says, "....nah, not feeling it."

Fluff and shenanigans!!!!

• When Spider was a toddler he used to cry on and on into the night, you would've thought he was getting murdered if you heard it. The other scientists tried everything but nothing could work. Not hot milk, not being rocked, not being given a stuffy, not even promises of being able to go outside the next day could calm the tiny toddler down. Excepttttt Norm! It took everyone including Norm himself by shock when a very very tired Norm just kinda went into Spiders room and laid down with the toddler in bed. Hugging him close as both Norm and surprisingly Spider as well fell asleep in each others embrace (Spider denys this ever happened)

• Norm was the one to teach Spider how to cook, he taught him how to make one of Spiders favorite foods (P.s its cherry pie)

• Norm does adopt Na'vi children and when Spider first met them he was practically vibrating with excitement (he was young when Norm adopted the kids! I also have names for them but that will come later) and the kids were just as happy to meet him too.

• Aungia and Spider are the closet in age with Aungia being only one season older than Spider (He uses this against Spider all the time)

• Fwäkì and Spider get into all sorts of shenanigans despite Fwäkì being two years younger than Spider

• Letswal'herwì is very shy but gets along with Spider none the less, though she typically is the one to tell them to calm down and not hurt themselves or eachother despite her being the youngest

• Norm loves all his children equally! (Jk his favorite is Leswal'herwì)

• Aungia means Sign, Omen while Fwäkì means Mantis and Leswal'herwì means powerful snow

• When Spider was taken all Norm wanted to do was storm into Bridgehead and kill anyone or anything that came in his way, he didn't know what to do with this feeling because he never had it before. He also felt rage, rage so deep he could feel it in his bones. Rage that Neytiri and Jake didn't go back for his son, that they just let him be taken. He had to wait though because if he acted too hastily he would risk Spiders life and he would never forgive himself if anything happened. And he never did when he found out what they did to his son, his poor brave son who even though he was left to get tortured didn't give up any information on where the high camp was and anything about the Sullys or him. He never forgave himself and he never will, he knew he should've just gone to get Spider when he first heard he was kidnapped but he didn't and now he had to live with that fact

• Aungia just shut down, he didn't want to talk to anyone, he didn't want to get up for food, he didn't want to go outside. He wanted his brother back but knew he couldn't do anything and that left a great deal of pain for him to deal with

• Similar to her father Fwäkì wanted to go to where the demons were and rip out each and everyone of their throats to get her brother back safely but unlike her father she didn't think of what might happen if she just stormed into Bridgehead, what could happen to her brother and her, so she made up a plan and was going to go through with it. She had gathered a few other kids who loved Spider and they made a plan to get her brother back

• Leswal'herwì was the most confusing one of all of the siblings. She carried on with everything like normal but if you knew her well you could tell she was in a great deal of pain but she wouldn't talk. No matter how much she wanted to. She was also the reason that Fwäkì and the other kids didn't initiate their plan sooner

Unimportant ramblings v

Time stamp: Jul 15? Heeeeey. Hello. So I did take a break from art till like last week, but uh, the health has been a roller coaster-

I kinda cleaned the whole house compulsively multiple times. I dunno what to say about that. Went from the compulsion to be Always Drawing to Always Doing Chores, so it wasn’t really a break? It felt amazing for a little while, but I am so stressed inside ahagfhkhdf. Anywayssssss.

I realized that promising to do the art requests Later is just me returning to old behavior, like just... keeping it on the line so I /nobody gets a direct answer *when* it will be done. That makes my brain think it’s in the clear while the other artists are worried and unsure what’d happen. Andddd even though I did have the motivation to do animated group projects for a little while, a small thing completely knocked me into dropping everything else.

I know I *could* try to join more projects or do more requests, I’m not in a safe headspace where I wouldn’t be set off, and nobody should risk their project’s deadline for that-

TLDR I’m going to Try and fix things up on my end and stop myself from joining anything (that depends on Every artists effort). Even if I feel alright *now* I know there’s a lot of risk for *later*- just don’t let me in anything big and important even if I ask, please- for at least a year-

[cackles evilly] Ink Demonth Ink Demothhhhh- this is the furthest I’ve ever gotten in an art prompt month ever! ...even though I’m technically not on theme (Fallout instead of Batim). Trying to pace myself by alternating between a simple and detailed style. Hrrrh the yeehawgust prompts (cowboy theme!) look so cool but I won’t double up- but I will try to participate in the September AI-less-Whump month. (gore and dark subjects! I’ll tag everything properly of course.)

Also I’ve come to a realization- A dream of mine has been becoming famous for my art/animations, but uh- One, it isn’t realistic, and Two, posts getting like 200 notes freaks me out cfjhxfgh- Well, doing stuff for friends and others is just as cool. Y’all are awesome ^w^

Oeghhhh.... too many ideas, not enough time. So many comic ideas. And I gotta tamp down my love of angst dvhkdfbnsf, make sure it makes sense first!! Decided to keep the aus separate. Normal Game Stuff is happening in the Badlands mainland, uh, I don’t know what ending we’d go with but anyways. ....hm. Maybe there’s no sosu and the factions are not making any progress. But probably’d lean towards Institute ending if I had to choose now.

Hm. Well. Maybe I did not think. Uh well in the other au Kiley’s with the Minutemen, and Nate’s with the BoS, so... well I’m not sure how this is gonna go- I’ll keep drawing memes till I think of something cool.

Well uhhhh. I dropped the October art challenge pretty quick, unfortunately. I’ll continue in December maybe? I said I’d do a few days of Halltober, and I don’t want to go back on what I said.

I keep continuing and dropping the au stuff, but that just proves I can continue a project! Maybe!! Maybe. It’ssss a comedy, so uh I’m not worried about making a Deep Story or anything. It’ll be fiiiiine. Just little slice of life stuff.
