I'm cracking up because I feel like as a writer here on Tumblr, I've finally "arrived." I've "made it" so to speak. I managed to be left alone for literally years, here in my corner just doin' my thing while you and/or others like you went around harassing other writers over things that have zero bearing or impact on the real world and the problems in it.

Normally, I would block and delete this cowardly anonymous ask, but I'm feeling charitable this fine morning on three hours of sleep, so I will gladly go into a discussion about this.

I hope you're prepared, anon. I have a lot to say about this subject since I've thought about this before back in the 2020 days of Tumblr.

First thing's first, I'm curious what spurred this...? Most of my writings DO focus on "adult" characters (Dabi, Chisaki, Nighteye, Aizawa, Gojo...). I've written for the "younger" characters a handful of times, usually small romance bits that others have requested or that I felt inspired to write because I felt it would make a good story. However, that's neither here nor there, since I have no problem writing the "younger" characters as aged-up adults engaging in adult situations and experiences (and yes that includes *gasp* sex!).

Why all the quotations around "adult" and "younger" you might ask? Because the simple fact is this: it's all fictional. None of these characters are real. So, in that sense, their age (physical, mental, emotional) is flexible, particularly when it comes to creative/artistic interpretations that expand beyond canon (friendly reminder, ALL fanmade material deviates from canon no matter how well drawn or how well written).

This means I'm able to look at a character and age them up in my mind utilizing my imagination. Why would I even want to do that in the first place, you might ask? If I'm willing to "age them up" then it means I'm attracted to them as they are portrayed in canon first, as teenagers, correct? Wrong. First off, if I were attracted to them as teenagers, then I would WRITE them as teenagers. See how I'm not doing that? Let's use Bakugou as my example for this. When I think of writing Bakugou, I'm not writing 15 year old Bakugou who's constantly loud and shouting at everyone aggressively to the point of comedic relief. I'm writing a 20- or 30-something Bakugou, who's still got that undercurrent of aggression, but he's learned to temper it over time; I'm writing a Bakugou who's been forced to grow up a bit through having failures, and or dealing with the loneliness of his single-mindedness around being "the best."

What I AM attracted to is the character "type." This includes their design (i.e., how they look), their personality/archetype (e.g., cocky asshole, aggressive pomeranian, aloof silent type), and their backstory/circumstance (e.g., daddy issues, self-esteem issues, past traumas, etc.). I'm basically borrowing all of these things when I write a character into my own fanon universes.

There's this little not-so-secret 'secret' within the fanfiction community: the canon version of a character and a fanon version of the character are NOT the same character. They look nearly identical (i.e., same appearance but aged up, so broader shoulders, taller, etc.); they share the same backstory/experiences (i.e., what makes them who they are); and similar mannerisms. We like to PRETEND they're the same, but in reality they're not. The character stops being a canon version of himself when I, a writer, get my hands on him. He's no longer a teenager when I write him; he's an adult, and he has new experiences that have transformed him into a new characterization that I'm utilizing for my own benefit. The canon still exists of course, but my rendition is a little bit removed from that just by the nature of creative license.

That is what, I as the writer, am attracted to. I'm attracted to that character "template" and the personal modifications I've made to it. It allows me to play with character concepts in way that I'm comfortable, including changing a canonically teenage character to an adult so that it aligns with my personal morals and comfort levels.

So for me, I have no interest in writing NSFW stuff/adult themes for characters as teenagers because I'm not attracted to teenagers. I've written some soft romance short stories (e.g., my very first BNHA fic was a prom-night first kiss with Kirishima) because it makes for a good romance story; and quite frankly, there's nothing wrong with writing that. Love is something you can write about no matter the age; writing about teenagers finding love does not equal perversion/pedophilia; and if you think it does, then never read a YA book again, since those are, well, all written by adults (you're welcome).

What I DO have interest in is exploring characters in non-canon situations. What would Pro Hero Bakugou be like? How would he approach a villain that he's attracted to? Or how would he handle almost losing someone he fell in love with that he was supposed to protect on his watch? And yes, that includes exploring sexual themes as well, such as what kind of a lover would he be like? What kind of kinks would a character of his archetype and backstory enjoy?

"But why utilize canonically under-age characters?" you might ask. "Why not use one of the canonically adult characters to explore these things?" And the answer is likely because maybe that character archetype that I'm drawn too for this particular idea/story isn't available in an adult form within the canon story. Stories that have a large cast, and particularly a large number of adolescent characters, have a wide variety of character archetypes to choose from that may not be as available with the adult characters. In short, it's because that particular character type fits that particular creative idea/thought. It's all about imagination and play.

So, long story short, if you have difficulty with extending your imagination beyond canon, then please, by all means, don't read or write aged-up fics because you won't be able to suspend your disbelief, and all it's going to do is gross you out. That's a you problem, not a me problem. I have no moral concerns with myself at all. I know for for a fact I have no romantic or sexual interest in teenagers either in fiction (thus why I age up) or in real life when they cross my path.

The TL;DR: You can "age-up"/imagine a canonically teenage character as an adult simply because the character is just that - a character. It's not real. You're taking an archetype, a template, and you're modifying it so you can use it to tell your own stories, stories which are important to the creator for a variety of reasons - sometimes the writing is therapeutic to process/explore sexuality and/or trauma; sometimes the writing is simply because it's fun, because we enjoy the stories we imagine and we want to share them. There is a refreshing flexibility and freedom in it that allows us creative folk to modify and play to our liking without having to create characters and worlds from scratch.

This is NOT the same as someone looking at a real-life teenager and "imagining" them as an adult or thinking they are sexually available because "they're so mature" or "they'll turn 18 soon" and treating them inappropriately for their own personal gain. Real grooming, real pedophilia, impacts a real, flesh and blood person. That person will STILL be a teenager, despite what an actual groomer might like to think or pretend. No amount of sugar coating or grooming talk will change that fact, and it will be the teenager that gets hurt.

Izuku has spent his entire life working for Katsuki. Now in their late 40's he still wants Katsuki to notice him…or love him

That is until Ochako starts working for Katsuki, and he is soft for her only

And Izuku realizes he will never get the love he wanted

Notes: Inspired by that tiktok that goes: 'Everyone wants an older, colder man with a soft spot, until that soft spot isn't for you'

--- When you live with someone for 40 years you tend to see the way they care and love you. When they lose the love they had for you

Izuku knew the exact moment it happened when he saw someone younger with so much energy join his job He knew he was fighting a losing game when he chose to stay

Izuku was born for a generation of personal butlers and main caretakers for the bakugou family, although you could choose to do a different career choice you were heavily shunned by your family and you'd have nobody if you were to truly quit so the thought would never cross on izuku’s mind, until now

He was old—well 40 isn't exactly young is it? And the nonstop work and stress made him age faster He had wrinkles, his hair stopped being shiny years ago and he needs to take more supplements for his back. He has bad eyebags and his fingers tend to tremble often

Katsuki somehow got the good stick of it, still having those Mitsuki and Masaru genes on him that made him look 30 or at least late 30’s. He still had his wrinkles but they fit more for his face and made him look like he was aging with wine

Both were raised together with a clear intent. Izuku will die working for him, being in the background of photos and portraits—and he never minded! I mean sure it hurts being put in this position of never being able to fall in love with your childhood friend but back then it used to be the two

Just them two…izuku used to put sticky notes and smiley faces on the pages of his reports It used to be the two in that lonely manor, two old men ready to live the rest of their lives like that or until katsuki gets married

Then new maids and staff arrived, once a year Katsuki would mass hire any staff that was low on numbers and she was one of the maids, Ochako Uraraka She was in her early 20s, poor family, and had been working hard all her life.

She was everything izuku wasnt Lively, and young, her bones didn't hurt when she leaned down. A woman. And—of course, izuku was just a man, it was forbidden to even think about being gay in this household

Izuku felt like he was in one of those stories where he’s meant to be the bad guy, she is the protagonist who works hard and somehow ends up in the eyes of the headmaster, spoiling and courting even if she was just a maid

He’s not meant to have his happy ending. Just to stare from the outside and he’s afraid he’s too old to find love meant for him

** “Kacchan…your online meeting with your mother will start shortly” izuku informs, reading into his clipboard will all the due dates and schedules, he often stays up late to make these

He looks up when he gets no response from the blond to find him staring out the window where ochako was pulling out the weeds in the summer sun “Who even told her to do that” he muttered “It may have been the main gardener—”

“Fire him. Nobody should be working this hard in this heat. What if she gets a heat stroke?” “Fire the head gardener? He’s been working here for years im sure with a warning—” “Fire him” katsuki spat nonchalantly and izuku gripped the board trying not to look hurt

He looked like he cared—hell, he cared about her. “Yes, sir” izuku mumbled, giving him a low nod

“Tell them to bring her water and to sit in the shade” Im sure she’s old enough to know when she's close to passing out, she’s an adult. Izuku thought but kept his mouth shut

“…Yes, sir” he repeated “I swear, young people always think they can do everything. It's annoying”

But he didn't /look/ annoyed at all, instead, a small smirk tugged at the end of his lips as he went back to his papers He finds her amusing, something new to see and observe

Izuku wouldn't lie, she was a hard worker, she listened, and never had an attitude towards izuku so he felt even worse for being jealous of her

Is it selfish for him to have wanted something he knew was impossible to have?

To keep Katsuki’s love for himself, even if it'd never be the type he yearns “What are you waiting for? I want him out of my property now, and just to be sure pink cheeks are not going to randomly combust call Chiyo to do a health check” “With all due respect, she’s fine—”

“How do you know that?” katsuki asked sharply and izuku flinched “She’s just been out for 30 minutes and there is a breeze, she has an unlimited amount of water in the kitchen that's 3 minutes away from her and people are working alongside her If they find she not—” “I gave you an order, it wasn't an actual opinion, /Deku/” he spat and the green hair gave him a low nod

But he used to, he used to care about what he thought, about what he cared about and his ideas. He used to care Now he could give two shits about izuku

“Of course kacchan. I—I’ll do what you ordered me to” izuku bowed and walked out He was too old to cry to things like these like a teenager in love but it was hard not to, he’s always been a crybaby

It hurts to know you spent 40 years with this person, having a crush you knew it was never going to work but stayed anyway in the name of tradition and find you have been replaced by someone younger

He dreads what is about to happen, he doesn't think ‘because you let her out in the sun for half an hour' will sound reasonable for losing the work youve been doing for far longer than ochako has been alive for

Approaching Torino, who was meticulously trimming the hedges near the rose garden, Izuku cleared his throat and called out, "Mr. Gran, may I have a word?"

The old man turned turned, wiping sweat from his brow with the back of his hand. "What can I do for you?"

Izuku hesitated for a moment “It's about your employment here. Master Bakugou has requested that I inform you…" He trailed off, struggling to find the right words.

Toshiro's eyes narrowed "Inform me of what?"

Izuku took a deep breath and continued, "I regret to say that Master Bakugou has decided to terminate your employment, effective immediately."

A stunned silence settled over the garden as Torino’s face contorted with a mixture of shock and anger. His wrinkled hands clenched around the garden shears "…Fired?”

Izuku's gave him a slow nod "Master Bakugou didn't provide a specific reason—” he knew exactly why, but what would it be the point of telling him? “ —He simply wishes to make this change."

Torino’s face flushed with frustration, "I can't believe this," he muttered, more to himself than to Izuku.

Izuku knew the gravity of it. He had no family to rely on, and this job was his livelihood

The old man got out from the ladder

"This is your doing, isn't it, Midoriya?" Torino accused, his voice laced with bitterness. Without warning, he swung a fist at Izuku, the pain caught him off guard.

Before Toshiro could land another blow, several of the garden workers rushed forward, intervening to prevent a further altercation. They circled Toshiro, trying to calm him down while casting worried glances at Izuku, who was still recovering from the first punch.

Torino struggled against their hold, his face twisted with a mix of anger and sorrow. "I won't stand for this injustice! This is my life, my livelihood!"

Izuku slowly got to his feet, holding a hand to his throbbing cheek, but he made no move to retaliate. “…Kick him out” izuku ordered and the others nodded

He needs to see Chiyo for bandages and…what is he saying? She is busy tending to ochako. The green hair hisses when he touches his bleeding cheek and swelling near his eyes, it was a good thing he didn't get any ideas with his scissors

He wants to go to katsuki to show him how he looks, but he's going to guess he's also busy attending to her needs…

He hopes kacchan cares when he sees those bandages

“What's up with your bandages” katsuki pointed to them at dinner “I had a complication with Torino” izuku mumbled, closing his eyes in pain when he spoke

"Ah," Katsuki responded with a nonchalant shrug, not even bothering to show a flicker of concern, let alone ask for details. It was like he couldn't care about anything.

There was a knock on the door and it opened to reveal…ochako “What…is she doing here?” izuku asked katsuki and he shrugged

“Thought she deserved to eat here” “Katsuki, the workers have their own dinner room—” “So you want to join them? Shes staying here, want it or not” izuku gripped his fork and said nothing otherwise

“This used to be a place just for us..” izuku whispered

Everyone wants an older, colder man with a soft spot… Bakugou glares at him and izuku winces, not once has he ever been looked like that until now

“Oh quit it. You sound like you're 10." he snapped "Dont sound like you're hurt"

How could he not? His heart is /shattering/. It's breaking with every decision he takes that makes him realize how he doesn't matter to him

He gave all his life to this man, and he does not care

"And move her to be one of my personal maids, to clean my room and all that. Less work for her."

Ochako sat in the seat in front of katsuki with her food

“…I think im going to go,” izuku said, grabbing his food and noticing the way ochako stared at him, he ignored it “Okay,” katsuki said, turning his attention back to her

Until that soft spot isn't for you

If he leaves…would Katsuki ever chase after him or leave him the same way he did now?

King Bradley (FMA) X Katsuki Bakugou (son of Kimblee)

Gotta fiddle around with FMA a bit to make it work.

But tell me that Bradley and Bakugou don't have similar views.

From the FMA wiki on King Bradley:

Bradley has openly expressed his disbelief of God, believing the concept as a tool to inspire fear and order in society. When Ishvalans claim that God will punish him for his crimes, Bradley scorns them, asking how long their God would wait and how many more lives Bradley would take until he'd finally take action, urging the Ishvalans instead to use their own strength to try and stop Bradley if they so wish.

Another big bonus is seeing just how loving and proud Bradley is of his wife.

Since his entire life was planned out for him and he rarely if ever got to make his own choices, Bradley takes great pride in his wife since she was the woman he chose to marry, openly expressing this to Riza.

Now make his wife be Bakugou.

Basically I read in this one BNHA FMA crossover fanfic where Mustang misunderstood that Bakugou's father was Solf J. Kimblee and that Bakugou is the product of rape between Kimblee and some Ishvalan woman (just a misunderstanding ).

So I would like to propose a story where Kimblee really was Bakugou's biological father.

Kimblee has explosion alchemy, loves fighting (and killing), has a Bakugou styled grin, red eyes...

Evidently this means that Amestris is a country in the BNHA world: a isolationist country that works to keep alchemy in its borders (and within its military structure or government).

I dunno. Maybe Kimblee was once sent out as bodyguard for some Amestris diplomat to Japan or maybe elsewhere. He visited a foreign nation were Mitsuki was modeling in, banged her, and out popped Katsuki 9 months later.

Katsuki spends some time in Amestris - he's got a dual citizenship. Plus his mom Mitsuki is now dating some dude (aka Masaru), so Bakugou would rather be out of the house and country while they do their lovey dovy stuff.

Okay, back to King Bradley. Currently old King Bradley I is in power. He has a young "son" Bradley II. Both are actually the same Homunculi (so Bradley aka Wrath) can stay in power.

Anyways, due to how unpopular the Ishval Civil War is proving internationally, Bradley I "steps down" for his son to take power. So the whole (and Bakugou) doesn't find the age gap so... gross and suspicious. Because Bakugou is dating Bradley II, the teenage son of the current leader, not an immortal nonhuman.

Also there's the added benefit that then Mustang wouldn't necessarily want to be Fuhrer if he knows that the current king (Bradley I) will soon be stepping down for his 20 year old son (Bradley II). And Bradley II has been touting about peace rather than the warmongering policies of Bradley I which makes the Amestris citizens (and the international globe) less... unruly. Less likely for political instability and for the quirked countries to send in their heroes to interfere.

How does Bradley II meet Bakugou? Bradley II is trying to recruit Bakugou into the military. He can see that Bakugou would be a powerful addition militarily and politically seeing the destructive powers of Kimblee and how fast said man was promoted through the ranks. And to fight against the old foxes already in power, he needs his own supporters since he no longer has his old supporters from when he was Bradley I.

As Bradley talks and interacts with Bakugou, he finds Bakugou startling intelligent. He's not intimidated by Bakugou's loudness. He also can see Bakugou for what he is - an insecure kid who needs some loving and sweet words, and the kid will bend over easily.

Yeah the relationships started out with less than pure intentions. But what else did you expect from Wrath who's planning on killing millions of people? LMAO.

Bradley II is like, gotta put a ring on it so no one else can steal Bakugou away once they realize what a treasure Katsuki is. So Katsuki is engaged at 15 years old.

(This is a the same military that will take Elric in at the age of 14 without batting an eye by the way. So that shouldn't be a surprise.)

Bradley would marry Katsuki immediately if he could, but politically he can't just yet. So engage is good enough.

Back to Bakugou growing up in Amestris:

Kimblee gets arrested when Mustang is like, 23 and it's the peak of the Ishival War.

The country wants to keep an eye on the Bakugou in case he follows his biological father in going around killing people like crazy. So that's how Bradley knows of Bakugou's existence. Bakugou is like... 12 years old here? 3 years to build a solid relationship with Bradley II.

Bakugou also trains his quirk like crazy because he sees the war going on. He lives in japan most of the time for school but spends his free time and school vacations in Amestris.

To Bakugou joining the Amestris military is basically the same as becoming a hero. So he doesn't care too much either way.

Katsuki still ends up in UA though.

Maybe Mitsuki found out about the engagement and by Japanese standards, that was fishy. She thought Katsuki would need some distance from Bradley to rethink everything.

Maybe it's Bradley II who sent Bakugou away since it's going to be great media chaos as Bradley I officially steps down in power and Bradley II becomes the new king.

And Bakugou hates media attention, so he doesn't protest too much about going to UA. UA is one of the world's top high school anyways.

Shit's going to hit the fan if UA still ends up tying Bakugou to the podium. It's going to be a full on international diplomatic disaster of a shitstorm. And people are going to be more "understanding" of how fiercely Bakugou fights when they hear that he's from the barbaric Amestris that just came out of a terribly long Ishival War.

Maybe Bakugou already has the Amestris state alchemist position but is just officially on a sabbatical for extra education. Yay for nepotism accelerating approval for his leave faster.

Yep that means Elric Edward joins the military when Bakugou is 19-20 years old.

Accidental Fix It:

AFO has heard of rumors of philosopher stone(s) from Amestris. He has the LOV kidnap Bakugou to barter for one (or the method of making one) from King Bradley II.

Bradley II sends in the homunculus to rescue Bakugou. Oh boy, they decide to use Japan to make their philosopher stone now... I mean, accidental fix it fic for Amestris? I wonder if having a quirk = more powerful stone. In which case killing AFO and using AFO's soul (since he has like hundreds or thousands of quirks) could be enough to be a short cut to making a stone. AFO + other villain's souls + the residents of kamino = one shiny red philosopher stone.

(sorry Kamino)

And Bradley basically Bakugou saved before the heroes can mobilize. But here's the thing: the homonculus have killed the LOV and AFO. Still, they pretend to be the LOV to keep killing and gathering more souls for the stone.

Yeah, this explains why the other cities in japan still got bombed out like in canon. Then King Bradley II "kindly" sends in his army and the villain problem is a problem solved. Japan owes Amestris lots of political favors

All's well that ends well.

When a childhood love shows up after being lost to time, it's unnerving to be presented by something so familiar yet different. Deku, lost to his own love and presented with the stresses of life and unrequited love, it isn't easy to see the world with an unbiased gaze.

A/n: First off, this last part, please read with caution. There are a lot of serious topics in this one that can be triggering to some people. This feels really weird to post ngl, I was actually planning on posting the entire thing in 1 part but it was ridiculously long and the pacing was so incredibly slow. After editing it down and proofreading, I'm extremely proud and glad I made it a 3 parter. So, again, read with caution, enjoy the story, and I hope you cried.

He came to your café a little bit more often now, there was a fear inside of him that he wouldn’t be able to save you either.

He didn’t know from what, where, or when. But after the two innocent girl’s life was taken away from them just because they were in the wrong situation. He felt a little bit paranoid at your own safety.

But almost every time he inquired you to get extra precautions, your boyfriend would always assure Deku that you were safe with him. And Deku trusted him.

Deku would constantly talk to you about whatever topic came into his mind, he wanted to talk to you more and love you even more even if it hurt him. Call him a masochist he didn’t care, love to him was a drug he couldn’t get enough of, even if that very thing giving him so much love can’t receive it from him, because you were receiving it from someone else.

His pink tinted eyes now growing red from the sheer amount of love he had for you. It grew cloudy and red, to the point where he found everything you do close to perfect.

He saw you as a beautiful goddess.

As the days slowly change from Summer to Fall, he saw more of the red flowers he found in the cemetery growing near your café.

When he asked you if you wanted to get rid of them, you laughed and brushed it off with what he thinks was a sly smile.

He wanted to believe that you actually started blooming them around the café since you knew he found them fascinating. Of course, there was no proof to this theory of his, but something Deku liked to do was a dream, and right now he dreamt of you giving hints of your love.

Then one day, he walked by the café just as it was closing on his way home and found your boyfriend yelling at you. You yelled back at him in retaliation and brought your hand up, only to get it caught by your boyfriend. For the first time, Deku finally saw how tight his grip was when he was mad.

He was sure it was going to leave a bruise on your skin. But he didn’t want to interfere.

When your boyfriend left, he finally revealed himself and comforted you. He told himself he was doing this not because he liked you but because you were his friend. He asked you what the argument was about but you looked up at him and smiled.

There was something weird about your smile, something he couldn’t quite place.

“It’s fine. He broke up with me.” Your smile didn’t match the tone of your cracking voice, and he had to stop himself from tightening his grip on you when you pushed him slightly away and begun walking back home.

He saw the red flowers around you bloom brighter than they ever had before, and he thought if it was a sign from her subconscious asking him to prod further. But he won’t, he can’t.

His rose gaze along with the sweet image he has of your boyfriend prevented him from going further.

After all, he was a hero, he knows best when to prod further. Even if he was biased in the situation.

Deku looked at his phone and found his text messages unanswered and ignored. He had just gotten accepted to UA, he wants to share the news with you.

But you had moved out from your parents’ house to go live alone in a different city with the school of your dreams. He confirmed this by asking your parents, though they did seem slightly worried over you he expected that of such caring parents. He thinks it was just because you were finally living alone.

But he wasn’t sure why there were so many unanswered texts, why you had completely left his life.

He felt his heart crashing into a million pieces.

It took him a rather long time to get over you. An even longer time to forget about the lasting memories of you.

On his daily run in UA just after getting into his 2nd year, on the road, he found a red snapdragon flower. It was radiant and beautiful. For a split second he got reminded of you, and your strange love for red flowers, though he thought it was just due to your unique quirk.

Not wanting to feel any more pain towards the coming memories, he dropped the flower and continued on his jog.

For some reason, he chose the exact same route the next day, this time he found the snapdragon dried and dead. The seed pods in the fallen stem were terrifying. They looked like miniature skulls and he shivered at the thought of something so beautiful being able to die so quickly.

Finally reaching his third year, he readied himself to become a fully-fledged hero as it was just a year away.

He found himself re-living some of his old memories though, Bakugou had asked him to go back to the forest they used to play as a child. It was his way of apologizing to Deku after all the years of torment.

In their path, they found a red camelia tree. The flowers were beautiful and Deku again thought of you.

Just in cue, Bakugou laughed, “Remember when I made Y/n cry because I smashed one?” Deku laughed at the thought but Bakugou grew quiet, “You know, they never respond to my texts ever again. I never told you that, but we stayed close even after I began bullying you. At the time I didn’t see them as a worthless quirkless person like you.”

Deku rolled his eyes, “Thank you Kaachan.” He said rather passive-aggressively.

“No that wasn’t my point, my point is when you told me they disappeared from your life they disappeared from mine as well.”

Deku shook his eyes, forcing the memories back down, “I don’t want to remember it Kaachan, you know I had the biggest crush on them. They must’ve found better people now.”

Deku pushed the memories down and didn’t let them resurface.

After all, if he was to become a hero, he couldn’t have old memories dragging him down. Even if it meant denying he still had feelings for you.

Deku checked his phone repeatedly.

20 unanswered texts, 10 unanswered calls since last week.

Fear bubbled up in his stomach.

What if you decided to leave him behind once again???

What does Deku do when he was stressed?

Drown himself in work.

He opened his laptop and begun reading and replying to hundreds of emails, even reading a lot of spam emails from his admirers. One did catch his eye though.

It was filled with videos. He opened it and from the thumbnails of the videos immediately grew even more panicked.

He clicked on one and watched through it. His eyes widened and fear washed over him like a tide in the sea.

He clicked on another one hoping his hunch wasn’t through.

He clicked on another and another.

He finally accepted it.

All of the videos you sent to him were your recordings of weekly diary entries in the form of video. Each of them you were covered in bruises, tear-stained cheeks, and ragged breathing. Your desperate pleas of not being able to break up with your boyfriend.

He quickly realized your boyfriend was not who he said he was, and that all his actions were just acted. He was a manipulative son of a bitch who trapped you in his spider web. He was the spider stringing a beautiful butterfly in his web. Slowly but surely wrapping you in silk, trapping you, suffocating you.

When he finally finished the last one he quickly ran towards your place. Begging to whatever god there was that you were safe.

“Did you know Izuku?”

Your words in the video echoed in his mind as he ran and ran.

“The flower you gave me were actually Red Spider Lilies.”

He lived rather far away but he couldn’t stop, he won’t.

“I’m surprised you didn’t know what they were nor what they symbolized”

His legs ached and burned but he continued on running.

“They’re symbols of death and moving on, sometimes even reincarnations.”

He finally got to your city and ran to your café, hoping you were there.

“They symbolize the change of seasons from Summer to Fall, truly beautiful flowers.”

When he saw the café closed with neither you nor your boyfriend in sight he continues running to your apartment.

“I never told you this about my quirk, but you know they predict my emotions? I think they can predict my future too.”

He felt like a rabid dog with tears flowing down like waterfalls.

“The spider lilies growing through my subconscious around the café were proof of that theory.”

No, no NO, he won’t let this happen. He won’t let you leave him once again.

He won’t let his rose-tinted gaze show him only your best parts, making him deny all your bad sides all your woes and tears.

He immediately barged into your apartment only to be greeted by the sickeningly sweet smell of flowers.

The room was dark, despite it being 1pm.

He walked slowly through the entrance and found a scatter of red flowers blooming everywhere.

He called your name, no answer.

He screamed for your name, no answer.

But he did get his answer when he arrived at your living room.

The entire room was almost covered from ceiling to the floor with red spider lilies, and the lushest areas where they grew the densest were in the middle of the room.

Deku screamed in agony as he held your hanging body close to his chest.

It wasn’t blood that now stained his fingers nor his clothes. It was the red petals falling down from the ceiling to his hair that taunted him.

It mocked him.

It told him that you gave all the signs, you showed him everything, and yet he was too drugged in the most addictive drug of them all, love, to even notice your hints.

And now he was paying the price.

After all, he was a hero, he needed to be responsible for his actions. Even if it meant finally accepting that you were gone… forever.

BnHA Chapter 165: The Baby-Sitters Club

Previously on BnHA: The kids began their supplementary lesson for the day. Tired Mera (upgraded to his final form from just plain old Mera) introduced Camie from Shiketsu and said she would be joining the lessons moving forward. Gang Orca showed up and flung Bakugou, Todoroki, and Yoarashi around some just for the hell of it before announcing that the three of them plus Camie would have a special assignment for the day. Cue the arrival of about 25 screaming children. They immediately set upon the lot of them and stole Bakugou’s grenade gauntlet and piled onto both Todoroki and Yoarashi and we’ll probably never see either of them again. Present Mic got all hyped up and stole Mera’s mic to start narrating all of the action. Meanwhile, Endeavor quietly asked All Might just how the fuck one goes about being a Symbol of Peace anyway.

Today on BnHA: The babysitting squad struggles to figure out how to “win the hearts” of this vicious group of six-year-olds. Bakugou proposes that they single out the kids’ leader and break their spirit to establish dominance. Inasa tries to bond with them. Todoroki tries to show the kids what kind of person he is by giving a five-hour oral presentation of his entire life story up to this point. Shockingly, none of these approaches is very effective. Meanwhile Endeavor opens up to All Might (I know guys, shit’s crazy) and says he’s obsessed his entire life over trying to be stronger than everyone else, but he knew from the start that he would never be able to top All Might. All Might says that he simply wanted to be a symbol the people could believe in to give them hope and help them not to be afraid. He says that he and Endeavor are different and that Endeavor should try to find his own way of doing things. Meanwhile the babysitting mayhem continues as the kids face off against the young heroes and activate their quirks.

(As always, all comments not marked with an ETA are my unspoiled reactions from my first readthrough of this chapter. I’ve read up through chapter 187 now, so any ETAs will reflect that. I accidentally spoiled myself for something huge related to Deku and I’m so mad lmao. so now I’m going off on a frustrated reading binge and so help me god I will catch up with this manga if it kills me.)

this boy fought off six grown villains at once, and yet he has been completely outmaneuvered by four preschoolers in a matter of minutes

and yet, please note how even as he tries to get this under control and also finds the time to yell at Todoroki (who makes an excellent point btw), he effortlessly dodges this one kid who was trying to sweep his legs

Camie is all “I have no idea what to do next” and over in what has now become the announcer booth, Present Mic is all “I can just tell they have no idea what to do next”

now he’s handing the microphone over to the sobbing kindergarten teacher so she can clarify what exactly the hero kids’ task is here

and that somewhere out there is an alpha kid “who sets the mood for the rest of the class” and they just have to find them

he says sometimes you need violence to “put ‘em in their place” and that’s how he was raised

oh boy. so this is why everyone is all “Mitsuki is abusive”, isn’t it

goddamn you Horikoshi and your throwaway lines. does this mean I’m gonna have to do a Mitsuki meta after all

well for now I’m just gonna say that I don’t believe this line is meant to imply that Bakugou is being seriously abused at home in any way. it’s like... this, to me, is the same as when they had him all chained up on that podium at the end of the sports festival arc. something that was done for comedic effect. like, yes, if this was real life, that would be pretty fucked up and would definitely warrant some looking into. but this is a shounen manga where they had children battle each other to the point of unconsciousness for sport, and everyone was cool with it and cheering them on. when Bakugou says he was raised in a violent household, it’s clearly meant to be comedic sitcom violence where no one actually gets hurt. I’m not saying it’s not something that can’t be interpreted more deeply, because that’s half the fun of reading a manga. but I’m just saying that I myself am choosing to take it in the more zany/cartoonish tone in which I believe it’s intended, because in this case I think reading too deeply into it would lead to projecting issues onto Bakugou’s character that I don’t actually think are there. giving him angst I don’t think he actually has, in other words

I don’t think I’m doing a very good job of explaining this, though, so like I said, I really will end up having to post that meta I think

Endeav says he’s entrusted everything to Shouto

he says that he had already climbed to the number two spot when he was only twenty years old, and that he immediately understood that number one would always be out of his reach

okay, gonna press pause for a second now here. so just a reminder that we know Endeavor is 45 years old. maybe 46 now, idk. anyway though, so this means that he’s been the number two hero for 25 years. and that means that All Might must have been active for at least the same amount of time, and that he was already number one even 25 years ago. not just that, but he was well-established enough that Endeavor already knew he would never be able to beat him

so the question is, how long do we think it took All Might to become that established. could he have done it just two years after graduating U.A.? I think in all likelihood this means he’s probably a little older than Endeavor. I really can’t see him as any older than 50, though, so it’s hard to say. maybe he just ages like Paul Rudd. at any rate, he has obviously been around for quite a while

(ETA: to add onto this, we know from chapter 185 that no one had ever reached the top 10 as a teenager before Hawks did. so at minimum All Might would have had to be at least 20 years old before he became #1. so yeah, I’m gonna go ahead and say he’s definitely older than Endeavor by at least a little bit. honestly would it kill Horikoshi to go ahead and give this man an official age already.)

anyway, Endeav says he didn’t just want the title (which is obvious enough, given how he reacted when it was just handed to him following All Might’s retirement). otherwise he could have just gone around “foolishly smiling at everyone” the way All Might did

okay man, if you’re seriously trying to change your ways though, you might want to start with reconsidering that particular part of your attitude there

(ETA: though it seems his fans don’t like when he does this lol. no one wants a friendly neighborhood Endeavor apparently)

anyway, so yeah, he says he wanted to be the strongest

All Might’s saying this isn’t like Endeavor at all, and Endeavor is all “>:( JUST TELL ME THE ANSWER ALREADY”

All Might says he has no idea what to say to him. but All Might is a fucking liar, because you just know he’s about to go off into inspirational speech mode though

basically he just tried to be a good, strong hero who could reassure people that everything would be okay. he won their trust. the reason why Endeavor is struggling is because no one trusts him in that same way. he’s just not a reassuring guy. people don’t feel safer just with him being there. he’s strong, yes, but more in a don’t-mess-with-this-guy way than a putting-your-mind-at-ease type of way. he doesn’t comfort people, he puts them on edge

anyway. while I went on my little tangent, All Might was continuing, and he mentioned how he ended up pushing away most of the people around him, and that was the path he chose

and there’s a flashback to Nighteye, and Endeavor is actually picking up on that

All Might says he know what kind of situation Endeavor is in and what people are saying about him

yeah we just got a nice demonstration of that less than a chapter ago

he says people keep comparing the two of them, but that they’re different

hmm

part of me is like “because he already has another successor in mind lol”

but he’s saying that Endeavor simply needs to find his own way of doing things. “and there’s no need to rush it”

wow, where did this chill, no-worries attitude come from all of a sudden I wonder. I seem to recall the six-years-ago All Might shouting at Nighteye that he had to continue carrying on even as a wounded Symbol of Peace, because even a small interim without that symbol would be disastrous

but now we’re all “it’s cool man, you just do you and you’ll figure it out, no rush.” it’s not like there’s a whole league of villains out there plotting or anything

though on the other hand, All for One is currently behind bars, and as for Tomura, All Might currently thinks of him as “Shimura’s grandson, so he can’t be that bad! I just have to get through to the misguided little tyke.” so maybe we’re not on the same page right now as far as urgency goes

now Mic’s commentary is drawing their attention back to the Baby-sitters Club over here

this is it, Shouto. all eyes on you my man

I have no idea what’s about to go down, but Endeavor is again aggressively showing his support

honestly, it’s very possible that even if Endeavor had actually not been a dick this whole time and had actually tried to be a good parent before now, Shouto would have still come out of it traumatized. Endeavor strikes me as the kind of guy who would have signed Shouto up for Little League and worn a shirt with his face on it to every single one of his games. “THAT’S MY SON!!! SHOUTOOOOO! DO YOUR BEST!!”

is that your dad, the other kids ask. in mortification, baby Shouto creates a little igloo with his quirk and ends up just hiding in there and refusing to come out for the rest of the game

Ezekiel -

Ezekiel is a higher up arch angel who is in charge of the Japanese district of heaven. He personally takes part in training new angels into carrying out their duties to protect and guide the living on a pure life and to avoid letting them into the hands of hell. Ezekiel is a proud and determined man with a usual sexy smirk and a kimono undone to see his chest however when it comes to training the newbies of heaven he always ends up drawing the short straws and getting the people who never gets the hang of it or messing around. That's why 80% of the training involves him face palming or dramatically sighing in resignation. So you could say he's the hot dad that has given up on his children-

Ezekiel had died early in his 20's due to an accident. The "royalty" of Japan at the time were holding an open event for the public to visit, it was mainly for socialising and making connections. He had attended mainly for the free food, but during an interaction with a member of royalty an unstable chandelier snapped and fell from the ceiling. Ezekiel had enough time to push the person he was conversing with out the way but not quick enough for him to avoid getting hit. The man was crushed and sent to heaven as a result for saving a life.

Nolan -

Nolan was born as a half breed, his mother had a romance with a high ranking demon that resulted in an unwanted pregnancy. His father wanted nothing to do with it, demanded she were to get rid of Nolan or he would do it for her, if it wasn't for his mother fleeing from her country and learning to make charms to keep the father away then chances are he wouldn't be around. Unfortunately his kind is very rarely accepted by neither humans or demons, perhaps that's why he became the edgy angry man he is today but despite this he cherished the love that his mother had given him and the friendship that Emmie-Lou, a fellow demon offered. Emmie Lou understood Nolan's feelings for she was a succubus that left her legacy behind to live with a human whom also accepted Nolan as a friend, because of this after his mothers passing he wasn't alone and for that he is grateful. If anything, Nolan likes the human world much more than that of the demons realm which he happened to visit out of curiosity about who his father was, let us just say he regretted his choice and received those scars on his face.

Shin -

Shrine spirit | Pan | 300+

Shin has been a shrine spirit since he could remember , at first he never took his job particularly seriously and more than often played pranks on those who say prayers but leave no offerings. He still plays pranks but 300 or so years later? He's become more mature. The shrine woman he had been so fond of had passed away and so until someone takes up her role, it was up to him to write down each prayer made, to make talismans and clean the shrine to it's best standards on top of guarding it from evil. Now he has what people would call the qualities of a man, and he takes each prayer to heart trying to help those who make them in any way that he can manage. It warms his heart particularly to see that even in modern ages people still come to the shrine even if it isn't in masses anymore. He's a curious being though, wondering what's beyond the shrine, what he has missed over the hundreds of years. It's not all bad though, he often shows himself to those who visit and bring offerings regularly as well as children, the affection that they show him and their thankful attitude more than makes up for being alone at other times not to mention he loves to watch the snow fall. Making snowmen was one of the first thing he and the shrine lady had done together when he arrived and so he makes it a tradition to make one each winter. When the days are quiet and the visitors are low he makes the extra charms to leave outside as well taking well earned naps.

Rigger -

Male | Taurus | 36 | Bisexual Rigger was a French Plague doctor who died in his 30's due to being struck around the head down an alley, reasons to why he was hit was unknown. However Rigger didn't completely die, his good services had been rewarded, a reaper offered his life to be immortal on the condition that instead of saving lives he were to take them - only when their time had come of course. As a result of coming back to life, Riggers left eye became blind, the scars across his face a mark of his contract to become a living reaper. Rigger took this offer, being bought back to life to live and breath as a 39 year old forever. He takes his job seriously, taking down sinners with no mercy, being kind and delicate with children too ill to carry on living, careful and gentle with the elderly. Each person he treats how they should be, although he has got stuck in cases where the elderly with poor sight mistake him for their grandchild, he once was mistaken by an elderly lady and he hadn't had the heart to tell her no - spent over a year pretending to be 'Tommy' the sweet boy who hold her ball of wool while she knits and shows off ugly sweaters to the rest of the oldies at the care home. It took another reaper to take her soul. Rigger is generally very grumpy to normal people, although when he's grumpy the man is still kind and gentle. He secretly adores flowers, children and doesn't actually mind wearing ugly sweaters or hanging out with the elderly, he likes their stories and the sweet attitudes they have. Lady manipulation or rather Elissa is a licensed hero that graduated from UA High, her quirk is the ability to manipulate the environment and material around her whether she makes something grow larger or change shape and form. The marks on her arms to neck glow whenever she activates her quirk. She can make the ground move, and turn it into an arch or even a sculpture, she can make anything into weapons or protection. However the larger the manipulation the shorter the time she can keep control over it. Once her time runs out it can take 10 - 30 minutes before she can use the same material or environment again . She works under a not particularly well known hero agency with a partner known as animorph, a man with the quirk that lets him turn into animals though he often favours the wolf. She's a rising hero in the world and she actually see's Aizawa as her hero/inspiration.

After a particular fight with a villain that she once knew as a friend, her entire image soon changed due to the villain's confrontational words getting into her mind. Now she keeps her hair short and changed her uniform and her hero name. Elissa tries her best to cut the ties with the villain particularly when they had once captured her heart in the past and though it is a struggle, Animorph is always there to help and support. The woman is a very happy person that no matter what happens always wears a smile and insists that no matter how bad things are she's always hopeful and grateful for what she has. Of course she's insecure about her looks or that she'll never do a good enough job to inspire kids she'll still put all her effort in, when she's not on duty she likes to try different ethnic foods, read manga or show off her art to her pet chicken Diego. She also has a long term affection for Bakugou, not that she would ever dare act on such a thing without reciprocation, for now she enjoys their explosive arguments.

1. How did you come up with your username and what does it mean?

I discovered Tumblr while I was searching a place where I could talk and enjoy my fave anime and shows without being judged or anything else because I’m a nerd, socially awkward etc. etc. I wanted to create a safe space for myself and then for others. Nobody except two people knows about this, so I felt like I had a secret hideout -> I felt like an agent undercover.

2. Which fanfic of yours has the most feedback? (Bookmarks/ Subscriptions/ Hits/ Kudos)

Surely the ones I used to write in Italian, I reached the 1000 XD Now that I write in English I’m sort of an underdog. I have some popular posts or ask. As in for proper ff, it’s Confetti

3. What is your AO3 profile icon and why did you choose it?

Uh I still don’t have one. At first, I created the account only to follow my fave authors and to comment, I didn’t think I was enough good to post my works. I’ll probably put the same one on my blog, Iwa-chan. As I empathize greatly with Oikawa, I admired Iwaizumi a lot; plus, the image is a lot calming and beautiful.

4. Do you have any regular/favourite commenters?

I love everyone who spare their time to comment. I don’t have “regulars” on ao3, but here on tumblr @jenasisity , @ru-cchi and @secret-fujoshi-diary have been with me from the start. @mhioislife is always there for MatsuHanaIwaOi and I love her blog. And I go crazy when people, especially artists, I admire comment positively in my posts (ex. my lovely @nyciel )

5. Is there a fanfic you keep going back to read again and again?

I have a good memory for stories, so I don’t re-read many of them. Coffe King by Oiivkawa and few others are my exception.

6. How many stories are you subscribed to? How many do you have bookmarked? I subscribed to nearly 100-105 ff and bookmarked 99.

7. Which AU do you find yourself writing the most?

I LOVE AUs, I’D LIKE TO WRITE MORE. I love Uni/College Au (being a uni student too), Soulmates Au and Fantasy/Historical but I have barely written for them here.

I’ve been requested more than once (and I enjoyed them greatly) Zombie!Au, HarryPotter!Au, Bodyguards!AU and Spy!Au. I also love Crossovers.

8. How many people are subscribed and bookmarked to you in total?

9. Is there something you’d like to write about but are afraid of people judging you for it? (Feeling brave? If so, share it!)

I’m scared every time I write in English, terrified. I’d love to be more confident and being able to finish my projects, since I get discouraged easily when I don’t have feedback. (I was spoiled when I wrote in Italian, but I’m working on it) I’d love to write more AUs, even small shots!

10. Is there anything you’d like to be better at? Writing certain scenes or genres, replying to comments, updating better, etc.

MY ENGLISH. I WANT TO HAVE A FLUENT ENGLISH. And I’m not comfortable with explicit smut, so I avoid it. (and updating with frequency, but my studies don’t let me)

11. Do you write rarepairs or popular ships more often?

I usually ship popular ship...i think? It depends on the anime. My OTP are IwaOi, KuroKen, BokuAka, AoKise, GaLe and KiriBaku.

I have some rarepairs: I’d die for AoKawa (Aomine x Oikawa, Crossover), BakuShimaNari, TodoDenki, my OT4 MatsuHanaIwaOi and (idk if it’s rarepair) BoKuroo

13. How many stories do you have saved in/ with your writing program? Like WIPs?

HAHAHAHAHAH. Only stories, without headcanons or scenarios? 104

14. Do you write down story ideas or just keep them in your head?

It depends, I’m constantly creating stories, especially if I’m bored, and always before sleeping. I think at least one or two a day so…no, I write down the only ones I project to write or to which I’m particularly attached to. Otherwise I keep them in my head.

15. Have you ever co- authored a story?

Yep, more than once. It’s fun and motivating if you manage to get along.

16. How did you discover AO3? I was searching a new base to read fanfiction from, in English this time, and I stumbled upon it.

17. Do you consider yourself to be a popular or famous author in your fandom(s) on AO3? Nope, no really. I was in my Italian fandoms XD Now I just enjoy sharing small things and reading beautiful ffs.

18. Do you have a nickname or fandom name for your readers?

Survivors. (jk, I don’t have one) I call everyone “dear” or “sweetheart” since I don’t want to offend anyone by assuming things.

19. Was there an author who inspired or encouraged you to write?

In general? Probably my father when I was little, but it was spontaneous. I’ve always created stories, I just needed a way to let them out and…puff, I started writing.

20. What writing advice would you give to a beginning author?

Everyone starts from the basics, making mistakes, receiving few appreciative comments or kudos…don’t let this discourage you. First, because practice makes you better. Second, because even if it’s one person who reads it and leaves a “like”, it means you have made them happy. You don’t know how important for them your story has been, you can’t know, so don’t sell yourself shortly. I’ve been saved over and over by the most unexpected stories.

And, always write something you love.

21. Do you plot out your stories or do you just figure it out as you go?

Both! I have a vague idea and some scenes I’m sure of, but while I write it I understand all the rest. Arguing and discussing with the characters also helps. Half of the time, for most of the short stories, I start writing without having any idea of what I’m doing and they come up on their own.

22. Have you ever gotten a bad comment on a story? If so, what did you do?

Not really, just corrections or correct observations, especially about my grammar or the logic flow. I thanked them, correct the ff and learnt from my mistakes.

Ah, but I’ve received today my first hate on my character analysis of Bakugou Katsuki and…nothing, I’m bothered and a bit annoyed, but haters who have decided to not even try having a dialogue are not worth bothering. It’s just toxic. I tried to focus more on the positive or/and constructive feedback.

23. Is there a certain type of scene that you have a hard time writing? (Action, smut, etc)

Nearly unable to write real, explicit smut (I get embarrassed and I don’t know the real dynamic sooo….) and action is also difficult if you want to describe a specific style of combat.

24. What story(s) are you working on now?

I’m always working on my first book, I’m editing it. I also answer asks for fun (even if I’m horrible slow) and works on Confetti and Hell Mission (I, II)

25. Do you plan your new projects before you finish your current ongoing story(s)? I'm thinking of trying to write an otome.

26. Do you have a daily writing goal set for yourself?

HAHAHAHHAHA NO I WOULD KILL MYSELF. I only set them for my book, for the rest I do it for pleasure and to relax.

27. Do you think you’ve improved as a writer since you first started? ABSOLUTELY YES.

28. What is your favourite story that you have written?

My book, some old Italian fanfictions and…I have some favorite posts: Fantasy/Heian Iwaoi, Star Child, (okay, nearly everything IwaOi and MatsuHanaIwaoi) my Aokise Zombie!Au (Red Sunset, Finally), my AkaMido The Ballad Of The Robin and my AoKawa Series (especially Shooting Stars)

29. What is your least favourite story that you have written?

Usually, if I write or publish something, it means I love it. I often re-read what I’ve written, even if it’s embarrassing seeing how bad it was.

30. Where do you see yourself (as a writer) in 5 years?

WITH A BOOK PUBLISHED I HOPE. Still writing fanfictions too, I like people smiling.

31. What’s the easiest part about writing?

The spontaneous thinking part, during the first moments of creation, when the ideas come up to you; or when you have that five minutes flow where the words write themselves. The rest is pure hell, from the start to the end.

32. What is the hardest part about writing?

Editing. I correct over and over the same parts, especially in lengthy stories. Deciding what to cut or not for me it’s torture, I want to keep everything.

It’s also difficult creating new, consistent, realistic, congruent characters.

33. Why do you write?

It’s the thing I love the most in the world, I don’t know what could I do without it. I need it, it has saved me. And I love making people smile, I’m trying to do what other books and authors have done for me: Give me reasons to go on, hope, warmth, acceptance, a smile…I want to be able to do it.

It’s also my way of thinking and expressing myself since I’m socially awkward; it’s my way of communicating.

And, well, also a ways to have fun and relax when things get tough :3

1. How did you come up with your username and what does it mean? My tumblr username obviously comes from Aizawa from BNHA. He’s one of my favorite characters and he’s voiced by one of my favorite seiyuu’s, Junichi Suwabe. My old username novocaine-sea (which is novocaine_sea on AO3) came from a song by the band Senses Fail! The lyrics go “I wanna drown in a sea filled with novocaine” I had that username from my bandom days and couldn’t part with it

2. Which fanfic of yours has the most feedback? (bookmarks/subscriptions/hits/kudos).

Fruitless has the most of all of these things, over 200 bookmarks, 726 kudos, almost 9000 hits and 100 subs! But as for active fics Side Effects is the second best with 90 subs!

3. What is your AO3 profile icon, and why did you choose it?

My AO3 icon is a sleeping Bakugou cap from the anime bc he looks like such an angel I love him so much

4. Do you have any regular/favourite commenters?

Yes!! My fav commenters are @vairenna, @emotabek and @mirikiri93 but i also love every single person who comments on my stories anyway because they’re all so lovely and supportive and I cherish every single one of them

5. Is there a fanfic that you keep going back to read again and again?

Right now I’ve been going back and reading Feathers Are the Least of These by mousapelli (I’m unsure if they have a tumblr account). It’s a Tokoyami x Deku fic and it’s really wonderful I love it a lot.

6. How many stories are you subscribed to? How many do you have bookmarked?

I have 830 bookmarks (it’s a mess I had more but went through and deleted a bunch one day, I need to do it again) and I don’t know how to see the exact number of works I’m subscribed to but there are 5 pages worth, though half of them are most likely completed

7. Which AU do you find yourself writing the most?

Well I tend to keep coming back to serial killer AUs, are AUs that are particularly blody. I think I have at least one planned for each fandom I’m in, and have already accomplished that with Haikyuu. Though I do wanna write more.

I have a, uh, cannibal fic planned? Which I feel like a lot of people wouldn’t be cool with so I’m gonna keep it to myself for now lmao

10. Is there anything you would like to be better at? Writing certain scenes or genres, replying to comments, updating better, etc.

Fluff mostly. I’m not very good at it and i feel like compared to my angst and smut even it comes out really lackluster

I really love rarepairs, my favorite pairs are SemiSuga and MatsuAka, but lately I’ve found myself writing IwaOi which is strange bc they’re not even one of my main ships. But I love both rarepairs and popular ships equally!

Okay so my AO3 says 56 but I’ve deleted at least 5 or 6 from it so it’s more in the 60s.

13. How many stories do you have saved in/with your writing program?

Oh god I don’t even want to count but I have at least 5 WIPs for Haikyuu, BNHA, and YOI respectively

14. Do you write down story ideas, or just keep them in your head?

I do the bad thing of keeping some of them in my head but I really try to write down a lot of them.

15. Have you ever co-authored a story?

I have not! But I was planning to cowrite something with my friend Erin! I think it would be fun to cowrite with somebody :)

My best friend Faith made me read this one Teen Wolf fic called “DILF” and I’ve been on AO3 ever since!

Oh no not at all

19. Was there an author who inspired or encouraged you to write?

A lot but I would credit @thewiselearnfromhistory as my biggest inspiration. Idk where she disappeared off to but she’s a wonderful friend and an amazing writing (she’s ConesofDunshire on AO3)

20. What writing advice would you give to a beginning author?

Write what you want to see. Don’t try and copy other writer’s style; develop your own while reading their works. It’s okay to be inspired by other people’s writing.

21. Do you plot out your stories, or do you just figure it out as you go?

I’ve done both! I had a really intense outlie for Fruitless but it ended in a way that was not plan. Half of what happened in the fic was not planned until I actually wrote the completed chater. I really thik it’s fun to let the fic take you where it wants to go. Currently I’ve planned out all the chapters of Side Effects but they’ll probably end up being scrapped, at least half of it.

22. Have you ever gotten a bad comment on a story? If so, what did you do?

Yes! I have been told that my grammar is awful and the story would have been more readable and enjoyable if I had a “better grasp on my grammar.” I’ve been told that the way I write certain characters is extremely OOC. I’ve been told that characters would never do that because they’re monsters and not kind souls. But the amount of positive comments I’ve gotten outweighs the bad ones tenfold

23. Is there a certain type of scene that you have a hard time writing? (action, smut, etc..)

I’m really bad with action scenes but I’ve been writing BNHA which is an action packed series so I’ve been trying to use that as my “training” I guess

24. What story(s) are you working on now?

My biggest priority right now is Side Effects as that is my main work on AO3 right now. But I will return to Untucking and the TodoMomo fic eventually. I am also working on some Kacchako secret Santa stuff!

25. Do you plan your next project(s) before you finish your current ongoing story(s)?

Lmao yes it’s an ISSUE

26. Do you have a daily writing goal set for yourself?

No but my only goal right now is to finish Side Effects chapter 23 because it’s been giving me issues so that’s my goal every day right now

27. Do you think you’ve improved as a writer since you first started?

Oh my fucking god yes. I read the UshiOi smut that I have posted on AO3 and I cringe SO HARD. My friend told me that,that was their favorite fic of mine (or one of them at least) and I was like why... please....

28. What is your favorite story that you’ve written?

I would say Fruitless, but I also really love Golden. IT evoked a lot of emotion from me and I really love that piece of writing. But also Side Effects. And Wisteria. I can’t pick a favorite

29. What is your least favorite story that you’ve written?

Ahhhh the UshiOi story aforementioned. And anything I’ve deleted from AO3

30. Where do you see yourself (as a writer) in 5 years?

I hope to still be writing for fandom because I do enjoy it, but I also hope to be writing my own original work and maybe have a short story or two published? I think it would be nice to get into a fandom zine too!

31. What is the easiest thing about writing?

I think putting intense emotions into the characters and everything around them is my strong suit. I love breaking characters down and getting to the root of their problems

32. What is the hardest thing about writing?

Keeping things happy! I always return right back to the angst and I need to fucking relax with it it’s bad

33. Why do you write?

I write for myself, to get my ideas out there, and hopefully write something that other people love and enjoy fully. I write to make friends and to meet people who will inspire me and who I can inspire too. I love the way writing and art in general in fandom connects people. It’s really special :)

hi. hello. this is a bit embarrassing but i'm trying to buy my bf a tablet sort of thing so he can draw his arts. he's been wanting one forever but hasn't rly shown me which one he wants. i want to surprise him n buy a good one worth the money n was just curious if you had any suggestions. i've looked into wacom products, but i'm just such a noob to these things n was hoping you can help... i understand if this is silly, you don't have to reply! ur just so amazing, ur opinion is trustworthy 😅☺️

Okay, so, this is just my opinion and since it’s based completely on personal experiences it’s gonna possibly be incredibly different from other people’s opinions, so I just wanna make clear from the start that this is a personal preference and isn’t in any way meant as an absolute truth

Anyway, as far as I’m concerned when you’re just starting out you don’t need anything fancy at all. As an aspiring digital artist your bf might have looked up tablets and cried tears of blood over how much he’d like a cintiq or anything similar, but my very personal opinion is that fancy stuff is gonna be pretty much useless to you and be generally a waste of money? You’re just learning, you don’t need anything more than the basics. My suggestion is that you pick something simple and easy to use - I own this wacom intuos, had it for a long while and I like it a lot, but there’s also less expensive options you can go for too that people seem to like just as much! I’ve lately read on my dash about the Huion H610, they say it doesn’t cost much at all but it’s just as good as the Intuos, that could be a good option for you~

Aw anon I’m super happy you like my stuff for those three but as of now inspiration in that department is... super low... and tbh the haikyuu fandom is being incredibly unresponsive and non-vocal about their appreciation of fanworks in this period so even when I do have ideas for that fandom I sort of. Let them go. Or just sketch them out and never finish them.

Like, you know the whole deal about having to draw for yourself and not for others? That’s what I do 100% of the times when I’m starting a drawing, but to draw for myself I don’t exactly need to finish a drawing, you know? Sometimes there’s a scene I wanna see and I sketch it out in a super rough way and as far as my personal desire to see it goes I’m satisfied with that, and everything after that - the cleaning and lining and maybe even coloring - I put the effort in it because I want to share it with people. And the deal with the Hq!! fandom lately is that they don’t share my excitement for it. They either only like it, or don’t comment on it, or comment only to complain about this or that thing. In the worst case posting hq!! only ends up with people asking me to draw something else (ie I feel like drawing Karasuno so I draw it and post it and no one comments/rb/says anything about it but there’s 20 asks in my inbox asking me why I haven’t drawn any bok*ro lately)

When I think about posting stuff for hq lately I automatically compare it to posting stuff for bnha where I could draw a background character that appeared once 120 chapters ago and there’s still gonna be people that go “yes! that character!! I love that character!!! can’t believe there’s actual art for it oh my god!!!!” - that’s... that’s the sort of reaction that makes you wanna share stuff

I dunno, maybe I’m just expecting too much out of the hq fandom. But anyway, sharing for bnha makes me way happier and glad I decided to finish a drawing lately, so I guess that’s what’s happening there.

I did read it!!!! And yeah the fandom used to be way bigger, but honestly I’m glad it’s just the couple dozens people it is. Like a small town where everyone knows everyone else. No drama, no discourse. Everyone ships what they want and we all pass each other tissues to dry the tears. The only argument that happens regularly is people complaining about the relase schedule and the old fans telling them to let Hoshino live. A good place, this fandom’s a good place.

DGM was my playground for most of my experimenting as far as creating art goes, I really did reach in all directions with it through the years and it helped me shape myself a lot, so I really want it to stay quiet and nice and peaceful, that’s my dream for it haha smaller fandoms have a better chance to keep that freedom

Review: To Stand by Your Side

Alright, this is a LONG one. That’s what I get for waiting until I’m 22 chapters into a story to review it. LOL Well, here we go.

Completely opposite of the last review I posted, we have To Stand by Your Side by aeronines. This time it’s 16-year-old UA student Bakugou Katsuki and 19-year-old Pro Hero Midoriya Izuku.

Chapter 1

The story starts off with a twist on the sledge-villain attack, hinting at Izuku’s canonical attempt at saving Junior high student Kastuki. But as a Pro Hero the monster is no challenge. In this telling Izuku’s hero name is “Valiant” and Katsuki later gives him the nickname “Deku” after meeting him in the hospital post-villain attack. In his traumatized state, Katsuki makes a promise that he’ll one day be strong and stand side-by-side with Valiant as a hero.

Chapters 2 - 3

Katsuki's now a UA high student and getting settled into his new routine. He's still fanboying a bit about Valiant under the guise of Valiant being his inspiration. And then his class has special group battle training and against three Pro Heroes that happen to include Valiant. Katsuki's pride gets the better of him and he goes rogue against his group mates to try and prove how strong he is. He ends up really injured after going toe-to-toe with Valiant. Valiant gets out of hand playing the role of villain and hurts Katsuki way more than he meant to and is almost blocked from returning to UA as a trainer/mentor. Izuku never understands his own strength. Katsuki was totally embarrassed. He let his team down, they lost and (he thought) that he looked like a fool to Valiant. After some tears and a heart-to-heart talk he was reminded that Valiant/Izuku never looked down on him. That he's a supporter that wants to see Katsuki grow and get stronger.

Chapters 4 - 7

Izuku has a domination kink and wakes up from a wet dream about Katsuki. That totally freaks him out because he doesn’t want to think about Katsuki that way. The annual Sports festival comes up and he attends with Ochako and Kirishima and he’s Katsuki’s biggest fan. Izuku does have a moment of disgust and frustration as he becomes sexually around during he festival. At the same time that Izuku is battling these thoughts, Katsuki is becoming more attracted to him. Seeing him as more than just “his hero.” Camie recognizes what’s going on and gives him a Valiant themed dildo as a gift for the sports festival. Horrifying!! LOL

Chapter 8

It’s final time and the scene is reminiscent of the the canon final of Deku and Bakugo against All Might. Valiant (like All Might) against Todoroki and Momo. The finaI was on Izuku’s birthday and I felt really bad about Ochaco and Kirishima forgetting Izuku's birthday. I've been there. His best friends should have known and not have to be reminded. Izuku's been working himself too hard. So hard that Katsuki can tell just by looking at media coverage. He gave Izuku a very thoughtful and personal birthday present (spa coupons and note with his phone number). After thanking Katsuki with a hug, Izuku starts to realizes that he's in love with him.

Chapters 9 - 12

Izuku gets injured in the line of duty due to him overworking himself. There were casualties that he blames himself for but there’s no real way of knowing if they were caused by his actions or if they died coincidentally while he was hurt. Either way, the downtime forces him into counseling and into confronting his depression that existed before the accident. And into repairing his friendships that fell to the wayside. And to develop a friendship with Katsuki as they text everyday and talk on the phone almost as much. Also, the two are awkward and ridiculous with flirting. I laughed so hard when Izuku dropped his phone and screamed when Katsuki sent him a heart emoji. LOL

Chapters 13 - 14

Ok, these dorks and their non-dates/dates. LOL

The Culture Festival! First, I don’t know how ANY classes can come to a consenus and pick an event theme. It’s always chaos and this description killed me. “Yaoyorozu looked dead tired, and Todoroki, dead inside.” LMAO Poor Todoroki. And I laughed out loud when Izuku called Katsuki and he flew up the dorm stairs to take the call from his room. These cinnamon rolls are so adorable and ridiculous.

Katsuki is a ballsy one, though. Planning a “not-date” to take izuku around during the Culture Festival. But first he had to make it through prepping the desserts for their festival bakery and I’m with his classmates, what the hell did he mean? “Someone competent better get me the very basic stuff I’m asking for, before someone loses all their basics!” LMAO “And of course I’ll be able to get this all done. Look at these little shits. Fuckin’ gorgeous. You better sell ‘em all.” GUFFAW!!! Each interaction between Katsuki and Izuku that morning was embarassing and awkward and so damn funny. I had to take my glasses off and put my head in my hands when Katsuki’s brain shorted out and he asked Izuku if his outfit made him look hot. The tears. All the tears!!! LOL And bless Camie’s heart. She is Katsuki’s ride or die wingman. Where would be without her?! Her theory, though, about them going to a haunted house and Izuku being afraid saying ‘Oh Kacchan, you’re so amazing!’ tickled me. I love aeronines’ allusions to canon actions and the fact that it was the total OPPOSITE inside the haunted house. Poor Katsuki and his pride, trying to not be scared when he knew that didn’t like scary stuff.

Training on the beach. Izuku was SUPPOSED to be coaching Katsuki through his training but Katsuki was so blatant in his attempts to show off his body. Kacchan, I’m gonna die if you keep trying to show off your tits. *snort* Katsuki was so FLIRTY!

And we get to Christmas. Katsuki asked to meet Izuku to “hang out.” Not a date. LOL I was so happy for these that they were able to carve out a little time together even though Izuku already had plans. Izuku is head over heels and GONE! Already planning out how to interact with Katsuki even though they weren’t dating. “I… I won’t push for anything right now. I can’t. Even if he wants it… no kissing till he’s seventeen. And if we even get that far, no sex til he’s eighteen.” And like the bulldozer that he is, Katsuki ended their non-date by kissing Izuku on the cheek. Izuku’s gonna have a heart attack dealing with that one. LOL

Chapter 15

Chapter 16

Katsuki turns 17! They’ve definitely gotten closer and feel comfortable now with hugs. After training Izuku invites him over for a birthday dinner and Katsuki’s overactive brain kept thinking about wanting to live with him in the future. Katsuki got the best gift ever. Mindblowing kisses from Izuku. Confirmation that he wanted him, too. It made my heart flutter!

Chapters 17 - 19

Now, this damn chapter! I was all in my feelings with this chapter all the way to chapter 19. Izuku and Katsuki had JUST made progress. Literally only a few hours before Izuku had to abruptly leave for an emergency. Hours away with no cell service. Hours away dealing with death and destruction. Hours away not knowing when he’d be able to come back home. It tore Izuku apart, threatened to unravel all of the progress he’d made in therapy dealing with his depression and anxiety. And poor Katsuki struggling to get information, any information at all to know how Izuku was doing. My heart hurt so much. Finally, finally Izuku gets to go home. On his 21st birthday. After the fiasco a year before, this would be a birthday that he would never forget. Kirishima and Ochako made sure that he was cleaned up and had a small get together at his place with their friends. And the piece de resistance was Katsuki making a surprise appearance. And Katsuki asked him out. To be official! And Katsuki stayed the night with the agreement that there would be NO sexual activity. We have lift off ladies and gentlemen. LOL

Chapter 20

MAKE OUT CENTRAL! If they weren’t making out they were eating. if they weren’t eating they were making out. Katsuki and Izuku spent the whole day other “sucking face” and it was so cute and fuzzy. Katsuki did have a little stumbling block where he had to process the fact they he and Izuku wouldn’t be able to be in public together as a couple in any near future. One Katsuki is still a high school student, even though he’s a second year by this time, and two because Izuku keeps his life very private and his hero persona is a single man who has no intentions of being in a relationship. Heroing comes first.

Chapter 21

An incognito date! Camie came up with a brilliant idea that Izuku and Katsuki could have a public date if they disguised it as Izuku chaperoning Katsuki, Momo and Camie. Game on. It went well until izuku and Katsuki were almost caught making out in the bathroom. That put a damper on he enthusiasm. And an interaction with an overeager “fan” set my teeth on edge. I actually tweeted Aeronines after I read the chapter and said that I was very suspicious of this “fan.” LOL

Chapter 22

This was a hard chapter. I was right about the “fan.” He was in fact a villain who had been watching Valiant/Izuku and learned that he was close to Katsuki. He used his chameleon quirk to hide and sneak attack Katsuki while he was patrolling during his internship. He left him with severe injuries and taunted Katsuki (and later Valiant) with his knowledge of their relationship. Of course, Katsuki took this very hard. He never wanted to be Izuku’s weak spot. He always wanted to be strong enough to protect himself and not have to make Izuku worry. His pride was on the line and he didn’t feel like Izuku believed in him. They fought and Katsuki left. The poor babies. :( How will the next chapter go? I’m interested but also apprehensive about finding out.

BnHA Chapter 176: Delaware Smash: Air Force

Previously on BnHA: Class A finalized their preparations for the culture festival. Deku realized that the rope he was going to use to dangle Aoyama above everyone like a twinkling car air freshener was dangerously frayed. So he was all “looks like I’ll have to go buy a new one tomorrow morning at the store that’s conveniently right next door to where the villains will be having tea.” So he did. And conveniently ran into the disguised villains on his way back to U.A. To make a long story short, Deku offhandedly said something about tea, and Gentle got all excited and was all “DID YOU SAY TEA?!” and then Deku recognized his voice from the Youtube video that he had seen only a few days earlier. So now they’re gonna fight, because Deku has his cool new gloves that Mei made for him, and he’s not about to let any dumb villains ruin class A’s performance and Eri’s special day. So yeah. Go fuck him up, Deku.

Today on BnHA: Deku confronts Gentle, who sheds his disguise and tells La Brava to start filming. He then reveals his quirk, which can transform anything he touches -- even air -- to make it elastic. So he starts bouncing Deku all over the place, but then La Brava belatedly recognizes Deku from the sports festival and is all “holy shit Gentle, we don’t want to mess with that kid, he’s fucking crazy.” Deku is indeed fucking crazy, and he thinks back to all of his excited classmates who are looking forward to the festival and have worked so hard to prepare. With new determination, he takes aim at Gentle and fires his new attack, Delaware Smash: Air Force. He then leaps at Gentle and violently bodyslams him into a nearby construction site. Sorry about that, Gentle, but La Brava tried to warn you.

Deku’s looking around, but since it’s early on a Saturday morning no one else is in the area

and apparently there are no hero offices near U.A. (which makes sense, since U.A. itself is basically a huge hero office), so he probably isn’t going to get any reinforcements

this isn’t the first time that I’ve thought to myself that the kids really need some sort of panic button/emergency beacon/batsignal they can use to call for help if they need it. it really wouldn’t be that hard to do. something with a GPS that they can quickly tap and it sends out an encrypted SOS with their location. what with them running into villains every other week it’s basically a necessity at this point

you could always try texting Todoroki again in the meantime though lol. or just shout really loudly for someone to dial 110 which I believe is the Japanese emergency police number

(ETA: in all seriousness, him making a deliberate choice not to call for help creates a lot fewer plot holes than him not being able to, so good call there actually)

Gentle is quick to adapt to this new development, and tells La Brava to start filming

I don’t think I’ve ever seen a mangaka have as much fun with names as this guy does.)

so he should basically be able to fly with his quirk, no? just bounce around on air all the livelong day. that plus a built-in shield with offensive-defensive capabilities like what we just witnessed. this old man has got some skills y’all

apparently he didn’t even mean to go that hard, because he and La Brava are kind of staring now in shock

I guess Deku was coming at them more intensely than they realized, so the rebound was stronger

anyway so now they’re booking it because they realized how strong he actually is

so we’ve got villains who are looking to attack U.A., and a pissed off Deku who by now should be realizing that he can’t get in close, but who fortunately has JUST developed a brand new long range attack! oh my, kids. strap yourselves in

but Gentle says that’s out of the question

and now he’s touching the ground and unleashing another attack

lol it’s a trampoline attack and Deku is flying into the air

what was that you were saying earlier Gentle? about how he catches on quick? eh...

now Gentle is telling Deku that when he was a young lad he poured his heart and soul into school events, and he understands that Deku probably feels the same way

however, “this old beard and spirit of mine will not be denied today”

he says this mission will inspire a story for the ages, and he’d appreciate it if Deku didn’t interfere

it’s like if Aoyama and Gai-sensei had a baby

and now La Brava remembers where she recognized Deku from, and that he’s the crazy kid who busted up his hands at the sports festival

and meanwhile Deku is still up in the air, and I’m wondering how he’s planning to land. and also how Gentle knew that he’d be okay. because that does seem pretty damn violent, just launching him 70 feet up in the air and being all “well, good luck, bye now”

especially since all they know about his quirk is that it involves breaking a lot of fingers. so for all they know he’s about to be a splatter on the ground. smdh

so during his 20 minutes of free fall, Deku is having some flashbacks! Eri-related flashbacks! the most adorable kind!

and now Mirio is spinning around in a circle

and he says that after Deku is done performing on the big day, the three of them should wander around again

and now I’m thinking back to one of Horikoshi’s interviews, where he said that “a hero is someone who brings reassurance”

and basically, fuck yeah. this is why Deku has to start winning some of these types of fights. because that’s the goal here. that’s the endgame. win the day to save everyone

anyway, I got totally swept up in the “save Eri!!!!” feels, but the flashback is actually still continuing and now Jirou is coming up to Deku and asking how he organizes his hero notebooks

and he’s nerding out and he’s all “JIROU YOU HAVE A HERO YOU ADMIRE TOO??” lol

but she says no, she just meant that she has trouble condensing her own notes to make the important points easier to read

my god Jirou I can relate. try summarizing 15-18 page chapters in a single paragraph on the daily lol

anyways, Deku is looking at the notes she prepared for the other band members, and d’awwwwww
