Loki X Reader
Summary: Loki saves you from President Loki and then falls for you.
Warnings: none, just fluff.
Tumblr media
Loki sat down with the other variants, still confused he listened to each one of them, their lives, how they ended up where they ended up but something had struck Loki. They all spoke of Y/N, how beautiful she was, how kind she was, how equally mischievous she was and Loki felt a bit left out. In his timeline, there was no Y/N, he hadn't even heard of the name till just now.
"She was beautiful, the sweetest little mortal I had ever seen.." Classic Loki said with a smile, but his smile faded. "I never knew what became of her after I abandoned her on earth, I imagine she must have passed by now." He said earning sympathetic looks from the others. Boastful Loki chimed in now to say that his Y/N was equally as beautiful and sweet but when he killed Captain America and Iron Man she had left him.
"I didn't have a Y/N" Kid Loki said, Classic Loki turned to him and explained that he most likely would have met her when he was older. Even Alligator Loki had a Y/N! This was a lot to take in for Loki but he wondered, how come he didn't have a Y/N? Of course, he had lovers yes but never a companion, a wife, especially not a mortal one. For a moment, he felt saddened by this almost, as if he missed out on something he never knew he had. As time had gone on, Loki had devised an escape plan, of course nobody was willing to help with this plan of his so he was on his own but when he had left the hideout, he was met with another Loki, of course.
President Loki, arrogant, mean, selfish and narcissistic. With an army of other Loki variants by his side and the betrayal from Boastful Loki who had been helping President Loki, this was all too much. It seemed like an absolute nightmare.
In the midst of all the chaos, Loki noticed something or rather someone by President Loki's side, a beautiful girl in a tight fitted and very revealing dress and large heels that she had honestly looked uncomfortable in as she wrapped her arms around herself, her face filled with dismay. Loki watched her, watched as she shifted uncomfortably when President Loki spoke, until finally, his own army had betrayed him causing him to use this girl as a shield. Loki watched as President Loki's army heisted with their weapons now.
"Let's all just calm down, shall we? We wouldn't want to hurt Y/N would we?" President Loki said in a manipulative tone, Classic Loki glared at him and the rest of the Lokis did the same. Y/N whimpered slightly as a dagger was held to her throat, tears in her eyes. "Please..." She said in a raspy voice, President Loki shushed her harshly and attempted to back up slowly but another Loki held a knife to his back, President Loki sighed before pushing Y/N forward harshly making her fall to the ground with a loud thud, chaos ensued as now all the Lokis were fighting each other. Loki watched all this in horror and confusion before looking at the ground and seeing Y/N, she was going to get trampled if she stayed on the ground any longer, so Loki acted quickly, he ran over and with his magic pushed everyone away from her, before grabbing her bridal style and quickly carrying her away. Classic Loki looked at him before yelling "Get her out of here!" And so he did.
Once safely away from the others, he put her down gently and just stared at her. She was beautiful, like the other Lokis had said, but she seemed freighted, tired and was covered in bruises. "Are you alright?" Loki asked finally, Y/N looked up with a fearful look in her eyes, tears swelling up and she slowly backed up. She was scared. He noticed this right away and tried to reassure her everything was okay. "I promise you, I'm not going to hurt you." He said, but after he said it he was sure she had heard that one before and he was afraid he had made himself seem more threatening. Y/N shivered as she stared at the ground, not saying anything. Quickly, Loki conjured up a blanket for her that warmly wrapped around her shoulders. Y/N looked at it in confusion before her face softened and she looked at Loki with a small smile. "Thank you" she said quietly with a small smile, he smiled back. "No problem, I imagine you must be freezing in that." He said referring to her tiny revealing dress, her face saddened slightly and Loki was afraid he had messed this all up again, why was he getting so nervous? He had never acted like this before.
"it's what President Loki wants, so it's what I have to wear." She says sadly, Loki gave her a sympathetic look. "Well, I'm sure you won't have to worry about him ever again. I can conjure you up a new outfit if you'd like, just tell me what you want." He smiled. Y/N smiled, asking for pants and a shirt and some shoes, she didn't mind dresses, just not the ones President Loki liked. Y/N thanked Loki but soon went quiet again now making Loki awkwardly go quiet, she seemed like she had her guard up, still on the fence about Loki imagining he would betray her at any second.
"I'm Loki, by the way." Loki said stupidly in his attempt to calm Y/N down, she turned to him and giggled. "I figured." She joked sarcastically, Loki smiled, a light blush on his face. Why was he acting like this? On Asgard, he had many and it was easy for him but now, here he was making an absolute fool of himself. "I'm Y/N." She introduced herself putting a hand out for Loki to take and he did, her soft warm hand warming up loki's very cold hand making his heart do a strange little beat. "I know, I've heard a lot about you." He once again stupidly, or so he thought. "Well, not of you specifically but just, versions of you?" He said in a confused tone. Y/N smiled and finally began to start talking and getting more comfortable. Loki had explained how he got stuck in The Void and she explained the same.
"You sacrificed yourself for your Loki?" He was stunned, he could not imagine anyone sacrificing themselves for him. Y/N nodded her head. "Yes, and I was relieved to not be dead but I'm not sure if trapped in a void with millions of other Loki variants is really a step up, no offense of course." She joked. "None taken." He smiled. And there began their friendship, Loki traveled and protected Y/N wherever they went in his attempt to get back to the TVA, he had conjured her new clothes everyday and did everything to make her comfortable and it was then that he understood why all the Lokis had their own Y/N and loved her so dearly because he himself was beginning to fall for her.
As the days had gone on, they had found Kid Loki, Classic Loki and Alligator Loki and began traveling with them as well and they were all happy. They had their own hideout now and they all in their own way adored Y/N, especially Loki who had begun to fall for her more and more every single day but refused to say anything until Classic Loki had had enough.
"Uno!" Y/N giggled, Y/N had made Loki conjure up an Uno deck for them to play together, she taught him the rules and he quickly understood, truthfully, he had been letting her win this whole time just to see her smile and arrogantly, but of course jokingly, taunt Loki. Y/N yawned afterwards. "Alright guys, I think I'm gonna get some rest, I'm exhausted." She smiled and said all her goodbyes, but as she turned to Loki, she gently for a second put her hand on his and smiled as she told him goodnight. "Goodnight, Y/N." He said softly with a smile, as she turned to walk to her bed Loki's face was almost saddened, like he couldn't stand to be away from her. Kid Loki looked at both Alligator Loki and Classic Loki with a smirk. When Y/N was finally away where she couldn't hear anything, that's when the teasing began from Kid Loki and Classic Loki.
"Goodnight Y/N." Kid Loki mocked, Loki turned his gaze to Kid Loki and gave a slight scowl. "What?" He said, "You're in love with her! Why don't you just tell her already?" Kid Loki said, and oddly, Loki tried to deny it. "I am not." He said, it was now Classic Loki's turn to chime into the conversation. "Of course you are, Loki's love their Y/N's and you are no exception. Besides that, you're making it fairly obvious." Classic Loki said making Kid Loki snort before completely dying of laughter and mocking Loki. Even Alligator Loki found this all amusing. Loki shot them all a glare. "I have no idea what you're all talking about!" He said defensively but even he didn't believe his own words.
"It's best you just tell her before it's too late," Classic Loki said, his expression turning serious. "One thing about Loki's and Y/N's is that it's destined for tragedy." Classic Loki said making Loki not feel very confident. "Don't let that tragedy be you not telling her your feelings and regretting it later on." Now this was more convincing and so that was Loki's plan, he was going to tell her! He stood up out of his chair with a big smile on his face.
"What are you doing?" Classic Loki asked as he looked up at Loki, "I'm taking your advice and telling Y/N my feelings towards her." Loki said in an almost confused tone, "Not right now you fool, let the poor girl sleep first." Classic Loki said, Loki had completely forgotten she had just gone to bed. "Right." Loki said before sitting back down, Kid Loki rolled his eyes and shook his head.
The next morning Y/N woke up early, she came out to see all the Loki's around just talking. "Good morning everybody!" She smiled, Classic Loki and Kid Loki said their good mornings with a smile, Alligator Loki moved his tail around with what looked like a smile and Loki avoided eye contact which was strange and Y/N noticed it immediately. So, she walked up to him specifically. "Good morning Loki." She said, he finally turned to her and looked at her almost frightened. "Hi." He said simply and awkwardly, Kid Loki and Classic Loki sighed in the background. "Hi?" Y/N said raising an eyebrow staring at Loki suspiciously, something was wrong with him.
They stared at each other, the silence in the hideout was uncomfortable and awkward so Y/N excused herself and went outside for some fresh air. Once gone, they all turned to Loki with a look of disappointment. "Hi? Is that the best you could come up with?" Classic Loki asked, "I panicked okay?!" Loki said running his fingers through his hair and sighing, he shook his head and tried to think.
"Just go talk to her like you normally would." Kid Loki said, that was great advice. "Talk to her like you normally would." Loki repeated to himself, he nodded his head before leaving the hideout and immediately seeing Y/N there laying in the grass, wind blowing in her hair and her arms wrapped around herself, Loki once again conjured her a nice warm and cozy green blanket, it startled her slightly as she looked down at it before turning her head behind her. Loki sat down next to Y/N and smiled. "Thank you." She smiled, "Of course." He said.
The awkward silence had returned once more and now Y/N was beginning to wonder what was wrong, was it her? Whenever President Loki had gotten silent with her it usually meant that she had done something to upset him, was Loki upset at her? She frowned and turned to him.
"Did I do something wrong?" She asked suddenly, Loki stared at her with a look of confusion. "What?" He asked. "Did I do something wrong?" She repeated "To upset you, because if I did I'm sor-" Loki felt horrible, had he made her feel bad? "What?! No, no not at all it's just.." he paused and Y/N stared. Loki sighed wishing the words would just come to him. "It's not you, it's me." Loki said, Y/N raised her eyebrows in surprise. "Oh jeez thanks." She said sarcastically and Loki cursed at himself, he put a hand on Y/N' s shoulder gently.
"Y/N, I didn't mean it like that. Look, what I'm trying to say is." But he couldn't, he had never felt such an anxiety before but Y/N had never been more confused.
"Loki-"
"I love you."
Y/N blinked, the words not really registering in her brain. "What?" She said, Loki sighed. "I...I love you Y/N, I really do and I've been lying to myself for awhile now but I can deny no longer." It was now Y/N's turn to go speechless and awkwardly silent which only made Loki's anxiety worsen. With every passing moment of her not saying anything, Loki felt his heart breaking.
"Y/N, my dear, please say something-"
"I love you too Loki."
"What?" He said not believing the words he was hearing. "I love you Loki, I think from our first interaction I really fell for you and I just didn't think you'd feel the same." She confessed and Loki was stunned by this. "How could I not? I mean, you're sweet, intelligent, cunning and absolutely beautiful. I absolutely adore you and everything about you Y/N." She blushed at this and rested her head on Loki's shoulder, he wrapped an arm around her and pulled her closer resting his head on hers.
"Well, look at that, now you have your own Y/N, now you're not missing out." She joked, Loki chuckled and could feel his heart beating faster, his face turned a bit serious and he looked down at her.
"Do I?" He asked.
"Do you what?"
"Have you?" He clarified, Y/N knew exactly what he was asking, in his own words and smiled. "If you want me, I'm all yours." She said, Loki put his hand gently on her cheek. "Of course I want you Y/N." He said staring into her eyes lovingly, he smiled when she smiled. "Then I'm all yours." She said and Loki's heart soared. Loki couldn't help but look down at her lips, and she did the same until finally, they connected in a sweet and passionate kiss.
"Finally!" They both heard making them break the kiss, they turned their heads to see Kid Loki and Alligator Loki staring at them with smiles.
"Go away!" Loki shouted back, Kid Loki put his hands up in a fake surrender. "Sorry," he said with attitude, "I'll leave you two to your makeup session then." Kid Loki said before going back into the hideout making Loki sigh and Y/N giggle.

Chapter 8: For Now
While stranded in Iceland, you and Loki share an intimate moment, finally deciding to surrender to your feelings. In England, Sylvie tries to get The Doctor on her side.
CHAPTER WARNING (18+): smutty descriptors, semi-public nudity, the sex in this chapter isn't descriptive (I wanted to keep it tamer this time, it's all written poetically and at the very end)

Your head was spinning, throbbing, completely thrown into a sensory nightmare as it made attempt after attempt to recalibrate and reground you.
Where am I?
Currently? Sitting upright on a bed, in what appeared to be a small, well-kept suite. You were conscious of a pillow propped up behind your neck.
Where is here?
Inside a hotel somewhere on the coast of Iceland, though nowhere near any major population hubs like Reykjavik.
Who is here?
Loki was sitting beside you, a cup of water in hand. Joey was perched at the end of the bed, doing research on his beyond-cracked phone.
What’s happening?
Your boat sank, leaving you stranded like Mary Ann and Gilligan with no way off the island.
Now what?
You had no idea.
“Water?” Loki asked.
You gently shook your head. “I’m fine. Just a little lightheaded still.”
“Lokes, can I ask you something?” muttered Joey, his voice low.
“Yes?”
“How have you been feeling? Any more signs of the timelines caving in or whatever?” he asked.
Loki bit his lip and looked at you with concern. “I can’t imagine your bodies would be capable of noticing yet, but the air is getting denser, and there’s this….”
Taking out his time stone, it was shining brighter than you’d seen it yet. All three of you leaned in to observe it.  “...it won’t stop glowing now. It’s as if we’re moving toward something that’s empowering it. I think it’s a good sign, but I wish I knew for certain.”
“But you can’t, like, use it?” Joey suggested with uncertainty. “Touch it and make a wish?”
“You don't think if I could I would have?” Loki twisted his lip with just a twinge of sass. “It would have saved us a sunken boat and two weeks of sailing with that rather bitter couple.”
Your brother shrugged and looked around. “Yeah, they’re not happy right now. Glad those two got their own room.”
“Yeah,” you agreed, joining the conversation. “But how long are we stuck here? Need I remind you both, we aren’t exactly here legally.”
“Carrie and Shane are going to salvage the yacht in the morning, then we’ll know. The family that owns this place has the equipment, and they’ve already offered to help,” Joey explained. “You were kind of leaning on him the whole discussion, though…” he said, indicating Loki.
“Sorry,” you moaned, lying back, “I’m kind of blacking out intermittently. I don’t even remember how we got up here, or what even happened after Loki and I--”
You trailed off, realizing that your last member was of his face pressed against yours, lips entwined. You felt yourself go hot all over.
“Then we’ll all go to bed,” Loki proposed, breaking the tension. “But you should finish this off first.” He held out the cup of water in his hand. You sighed, taking it reluctantly and draining it with one long sip. Not caring that you were still in your clothes, you rolled under the bedsheets, which were much softer and cooler than the ones you’d grown accustomed to on the boat.
When Loki didn’t move to get in beside you, you gave him a sad look. “Perhaps you should take the whole bed tonight, if you’re still ill.”
You shook your head a little too quickly, and it took everything in your power to hide how much the jerky motions sent your vision blurry. “I want you here, next to me. You saved my life.”
He looked at you with sympathy, and perhaps with more. Joey awkwardly cleared his throat as he pulled two earplugs out of his pocket. “Good thing I swiped these from the first aid kit.”
You gritted your teeth in annoyance. Loki looked unconvinced, but he agreed and slipped in next to you. Joey flipped off the lamp between the two beds, shoving the foam buds into his ears and turning away from you, facing the window.
“Y/N,” you could hear Loki whisper, inches away from your ear, “there’s something you need to understand--”
“--I know,” you cut him off. “I can’t be allowed to feel like this. I know that you can’t stay here with me forever.”
He didn’t answer. You carried on. “But maybe this doesn’t have to be about forever.”
You felt the sensation of a single finger begin to run up and down your face, followed by a shallow sigh from your bedmate. “Loki, never in my life would I imagine that you would be here, saving me from drowning, jetting halfway across the world. I’ve decided that I don’t want to waste this crazy chance encounter.”
He still wasn’t replying. Your heartbeat was beginning to pick up, which he must have sensed, for her cupped your cheek in his palm, as if to quell your nervous shakes.
“Loki…can I just love you for now?” you asked meekly, your voice cracking with insecurity.
A single word from Loki finally cut off your monologue.
“Yes.”
“And maybe you could…” you weren’t sure if you wanted to finish your sentence. “Maybe you could love me for now?”
You held your breath for several seconds, until the cool, soft lips against your brow broke the tension.
“Please, let me say one thing before I answer,” Loki asked. “Things happen to the people I open up to…bad, bad things. Some of them can defend themselves, but--”
“--I just hit my head on a rock and nearly drowned at sea,” you interjected. “I’m thousands of miles from home and in bed with a man who doesn’t exist. I think I’m at least a little aware of the dangers you’ve brought down upon Joey and I.”
You could hear him chuckle under his breath. “Yes, I suppose so.”
You could tell his thoughts were drifting away from you, perhaps toward some of those ‘others.’ Like Sylvie.
“Whether I’m in your arms for a day or a lifetime, it’s where I want to be,” you said quietly, letting yourself smile as Loki ran a gentle thumb over your lower lip. “I can feel you’re fighting it, Loki, but the way you kissed me tonight…what did it mean to you?”
“It meant that I nearly lost you, and was relieved enough that I kept you...”
Your heart dropped, until he amended his answer.
“...and that I wanted to kiss you.”
He kissed you again, but this time you could barely feel it.  “However, you’re still recovering from a head injury. Now isn’t the time for an illicit tryst.”
You pouted, grateful that at least he couldn’t see your frowning face. “Then, when is the time?”
Feeling a long, strong arm slip itself under your head, you rolled onto your side, leaning your head onto Loki’s shoulder.
“Tomorrow.”
Tumblr media
“Tomorrow?”
“Tomorrow!”
The Doctor was still unsure he was understanding Sylvie correctly. She was a God. A God from a Parallel Universe called Asgard, much like the ancient stories from Norway. In fact, she was an altered version of the Trickster God himself, Loki, here to collect him and bring him back to fulfill some grand purpose that would save the timelines and send everyone back to where they came from.
And she wanted to go out into the world to find this Loki tomorrow? It would take him a week to figure out what was going on in the first place, and why this was involving him at all! This mysterious woman had only appeared hours ago, and the communication barrier between the two of them was no closer to being breached than it had been when she’d arrived.
“Doctor, he’s the cause of all of this!” Sylvie insisted, still intrigued somewhat by the box of enormous temporal anomaly.”He could be anywhere in the Realms!”
“What Realms?” The Doctor muttered, throwing several crumpled paper maps leading to various places and planets across the TARDIS console.
She’d spent the entire night attempting to explain it to him. Well, in the way she saw things, anyhow. It had been very fortunate that her stone had worked, once she’d seen how it shot Loki clear through the air and at the Loom, where he’d disappeared into nothing. Hopefully, OB’s theory had held, and the stones would attract one another, leading Sylvie to the same timeline that Loki had wound up in.
This Doctor fellow was also a foreigner to this reality, it seemed. However, his understanding of time and space did not match any that she’d ever heard of. Her already-short fuse was burning through just listening to his mile-a-minute blather. He was worse than Loki. At least Loki took breaths between his sanctimonious soliloquies.
“Does this timeline have only one?” she asked.
“Well, maybe, some parallel worlds might count, but those are just different threads of time running alongside one another at different speeds and outcomes,” The Doctor reasoned. “It seems closer to my reality than to what yours sounds like. My reality has a big fat time rift running through Cardiff, but not this one. Just my luck,” he mumbled, lowering his voice in disappointment, “I land in the one universe where literally NOTHING FUN EXISTS!”
Sylvie took a step back and raised an eyebrow at his sudden, brief outburst, which left as quickly as it came on. The Doctor returned to his smiley, pleasant default.
“Sorry about that,” he said quickly. “But you did say this was Loki, right?”
“...yes.”
“Ahhh!” The Doctor began thinking out loud again. “Loki, Loki’s a figure of lore and legend around here, but he’s somehow real! Sort of like…like…” he stood up and looked at Sylvie with amazement as the wheels turned in his brain. “Me!”
“You?” asked Sylvie, rolling her eyes and wishing he’d slow down for five minutes.
“Oh Sylvie, you and Loki aren’t the only legends that came to life on this planet!” The Doctor said. “The realities are beginning to ensnare…YES! I can feel the stickiness in the air now…it’s unsettling, can’t you feel it??”
The Doctor grabbed Sylvie’s wrist, dragging her out of the police box and into the pre-dawn breeze. Indeed, she could feel as if the currents around her were a little heavier, a little more difficult to ignore.
“We’ve fallen through the knots in the time streams, Sylvie! We’re reality where we belong, but only stories here, because with the infinite universes that can be created and destroyed with a single decision, surely there are some where our very existences are contingent on the creative processes of--”
“--oh, do shut up!” Sylvie groaned. “Why can’t we go looking for him?”
The Doctor stopped his thought, looking a little saddened that his dramatic, exciting epiphany was halted in its tracks. This newcomer was helping him figure things in his head, but she wasn’t exactly the most pleasant presence. While in his eye, ambition usually painted a lovely picture, he couldn’t help but imagine that Rose would be asking questions, suggesting something different…letting him finish his speeches, at least!
“Where? WHERE do we look, Sylvie? Do you even know the topography, the geography, the physics, ANYTHING about this world?” He looked at her with desperate intensity.
She knew the answer, but she could never admit it, even to herself.
“The stone could help us,” she suggested. “He has one as well. Besides, I’ll know when my alternate self is nearby.”
“He has one? You didn’t mention that!” The Doctor plucked the gray/green time stone out of her fingers, holding it less than an inch from his eyeball.
“Yes, but it’s stronger than this one…and bright green.”
As if on cue, the TARDIS gasped once, and the dim gray light within yielded to the very same bright hue.
“...like that, Sylvie?” he asked, pointing at the light through the open TARDIS door. “Like that?”
She nodded silently. “Exactly like that.”
The Doctor ran back inside, Sylvie trailing and closing the door behind her. He looked over the dashboard and licked his lips, making countless calculations and theorems on the fly in the time it took Sylvie to reach him.
“Oh, perhaps we don't have to meander far at all, my friend,” The Doctor whispered.
Sylvie leaned in, reaching over for the time stone that he still held. He didn’t mind when she snatched it back, and the room went dim again. “What do you mean?”
“I mean, the TARDIS has been trying to tell me something in spite of the time vortex blockage…it’s been doing this for oh, about three weeks, and it did it again when you showed up, only to match your colors.”
“Get to the point?” Sylvie asked, her patience officially gone.
The Doctor shrugged and leaned back. “Sylvie, I don’t think we have to go searching for Loki at all...I think Loki’s making his way to us.”
Tumblr media
You were much better after eight hours of sleep, which brought you to late-morning. Loki had clearly been awake for hours, as he was just coming in the door with Joey when you stirred for the first time.
“They retrieved the yacht already,” Loki announced upon seeing that your eyes were open. “Has a lovely hole in the side of it.”
“It can be ready the day after tomorrow if Shane and Carrie work on it all day,” said Joey. “There’s not nearly as much damage to the boat as we thought. It just happened in the worst possible spot! Ugh, I need to shit--”
“Thanks for sharing,” you mumbled, your last word rolling into a loud, long yawn. Joey proceeded into the bathroom, slamming the door a little too roughly.
Loki chuckled under his breath before sitting down next to you on the bed, twisting his side so he could lean over as you sat up.
“Hey,” you said.
“Hey,” he answered with a sweet half-smile. “How’s your head?”
“Better.”
Was last night an invention in your scrambled brain? Or did you confess something to Loki in bed last night, encouraging him to allow you into his heart, if just for a few more days?
“Your brother mentioned a hot spring on this hotel property,” Loki mentioned. “Not an artificial pool mind you, but a natural hot spring--”
“--yes, they’re all over Iceland,” you said, shuffling down the mattress to perch next to him with one of your thighs brushing his. “They don’t have volcanoes and earthquakes and all that shit in your universe?”
“Oh, I wasn’t expressing amazement,” he insisted. Taking your hand, he gave it a squeeze that was enough to shoot adrenaline through your system, making you instantly hot.
“I was just about to remind you, it’s ‘tomorrow’ now, which means it’s time to discuss that illicit tryst.”
That was it. You could’ve died where you stood, the immediate rush of heated ecstasy betraying you. “And you wanted to…go in the spring?” you encouraged him, trying your best to ignore the sweat beading your brow and your quickening breath.
Loki nodded. “I’ve been awake for hours. There really isn’t much else around here to put us in a romantic way.”
You wanted to snort at the odd wording. Being ‘put into a romantic way’ sounded as antiquated as being ‘in the family way.’ God, just say it, Loki! We want to make out! Christ! Did all of Asgardians really speak like a Kenneth Branaugh production all the time? You imagined for a moment how exhausting that would be. No wonder the Asgardians were so strong.
“Where is ‘here’?” you asked. “I never saw a sign.”
Joey called out gracelessly from the bathroom. “SOME LITTLE NOWHERE TOWN ON THE SOUTH COAST!”
You rolled your eyes. “At least we aren’t near a major population center,” you mumbled bitterly. “The less attention we attract while we’re here, the better!”
Tumblr media
It had been a long day. You decided that in order to get the right ambience for your, as Loki put it, tryst, it needed to be dark, or at least twilight. However, in Iceland, the summer sun didn’t set until well after 11pm. You had an entire day to kill, so you all did so by helping to restore the SS Stormbreaker. Joey had already been asleep for hours when you and Loki snuck out the door to visit the spring.
The hot spring was on the farthest edge of the hotel property, behind a maze of wooden fences that wound about this way and that, providing privacy to the guests. Even in the open summer air, you could feel the added humidity as you and Loki found your way to the center of the labyrinth. The spring was a light blue, naturally carved into the bedrock, hot and fizzing. It was roughly the size of a health club’s pool, but not quite as deep. All around were deck chairs, small tables, and fairy lights strung across poles illuminating the air around you.
“Oh, wow,” you said quietly, not expecting something quite so posh. “And it appears it’s all ours!”
Loki smiled. “This reminds me of the springs on Asgard. From eons ago when I was a boy.”
You looked up at him and began to fiddle with the sash of your terrycloth robe. “Tell me about it, Loki. Please.”
“You don’t know about them? But my life is an open screen to you,” he muttered, a slice of bitterness mixed in with the usual tone.
You shrugged and took a breath before letting the robe drop, showing that you were bare underneath. You could have sworn Loki’s eyes bugged out the moment he saw your flesh under the rising moonlight. “The films only show us what the writers see. Tell me what you see.”
It was as if seeing his positive reaction to your body embolden you, and you took a step toward the steps leading into the spring.
Loki dropped his robe, revealing his own body, but you weren’t looking back just yet. You took a step, and the mild, bubbling water kissed your ankle, causing you to emit a soft sigh of relief after a long day working on a boat.
“What I see…” Loki began to walk up behind you, “...is more stunning than any film could show me.”
Finally, the surface reaching your hips, you turned to take in the one thing that even your wildest dreams couldn’t produce for you. Loki’s form was flawless, every curve gracefully defining his musculature, every ankle pointing the way to his best features. For his svelte figure, you didn’t expect so much actual muscle bulging under his skin. Of course, his member was longer when flaccid than any mortal man’s you’d ever seen before when fully erect.
Damn, Loki, that thing could impregnate an entire convent with a sneeze! You couldn’t wait to feel it for yourself.
“Shit,” you mumbled, “You really are a god. Sure you aren’t Heracles?”
Loki lapped up your earnest adoration and did a slow model’s turn, showing off a rock-hard ass to go along with his massive…everything else. “I assure you, that bubble-brained club-thrower can’t compare.”
“He’s real too?” you asked incredulously.
He shrugged off your awe. “Of course! My parents forced my brother and I to entertain Zeus’ kids whenever they were in the Realm on a diplomatic visit. The Olympians, I’m sorry to say, are all brawn. Not a creative thinker among them. At least the Iceni can teach you interesting battle styles.”
You rolled onto your back, letting the water take you into the center of the spring with a slow backstroke. Loki pursued you, though even in the deepest part of the pool, he was exposed up down to his navel.
Choosing to dip himself under and swim beside you until you found the far wall, Loki watched you with soft, appreciative longing. It occurred to him for the first time since Sif reminded him of their own brief sexual interlude, Loki had been celebate for an inordinately long time. Even kissing Sylvie had been different. It had been a distraction, a last-minute thought. Loki realized as he watched you swim naked that his need for you was solely on his own terms….for once. He wanted to touch and worship you.
“Y/N…” he backed against the wall and spread his arms over the side, beckoning you to fold into them.
“Please tell me about those times,” you bade, resting your head against his shoulder and wrapping your far arm across his torso. “The ordinary times. I’m sure they will still be magical.”
“None so magical as right now,” he whispered, drawing your chin up with a finger, extracting a gentle kiss from your lips.
As before, when Loki was telling you about his adventures with Mobius, Sylvie, and the TVA, he wove his tales like Arachne weaving a web. The rich, vivid images he painted sent you into his nostalgia, which was held aloft with golden spires and grand throne rooms. It was easy to drift away in his arms to those amazing places you could never see. Every story, from the time he convinced Thor to dress as a princess to trick an evil dwarven prince out of marrying Sif, to the smaller tales of the times his mother taught him magic, sounded like their own film, perhaps a missed opportunity by the corporate yuks in Hollywood to show the real Loki to this world.
“Mmmm I wish you could take me with you,” you sighed sadly.
“Mortals don’t last long where I come from,” he replied. “Even if you could come with me, I wouldn’t allow you to see--”
“--see what?” you asked, sitting up.
He’d spoken too much. There was no way Loki could tell you what he knew awaited him once The Doctor saw to his return. You would be crushed, devastated, and helpless to save him. It was entirely possible, after all you’d done for him, you would try and follow him, likely dying in the process. Loki wasn’t sure you could even survive the way he was tossed through the timelines.
In his mind, the best way for this adventure to end was him quietly slipping away to make his move to save time and space, wherein he would sacrifice his freedom and friends for the rest of eternity to sit upon a stone throne and hold the whole of creation between his fingers, alone and unable to move from where he sat. For you and Joey, the best epilogue would be a return to your normal lives, with you sitting down every weekend to ‘visit’ with Loki through the filmed stories he’d left behind, like a haunting memory that echoed a little too strongly.
Loki looked at you and smiled, taken in again by how you appeared under the dim glow of the string lights. How could he have ever foreseen that the most beautiful being he’d ever met would be a human? He leaned in for a kiss, and despite how he was obviously diverting your attention, you chose to ignore it and relish instead.
The first time you saw Loki on screen, your life changed. Of course, it had started as a girlhood crush on someone you knew well enough was a movie star with an image to unhold once he took off the leather armor and garish helmet. You knew you were one in a sea of millions who felt the exact same emotions as you left the theater time after time, watching every Loki appearance as if it were a Super Bowl.
You’d even cried before the opening credits of Avengers 3, having watched Loki die in heroic sacrifice. You couldn’t stay for the rest of it. It was the first time you’d walked out of a Marvel movie…yes, you’d even stuck around for Iron Man 2.
But every moment of that short night, as Loki made glorious work inside you, that younger woman’s broken heart soared above the stars. Your inner voice sang praises to the forces of fate, or God, or whatever it was that brought him to you as a birthday gift. Every thrust of his hips, caress of his fingertips, lick of his tongue against your neck, was a new hymn.
If only you could stop time itself with your duet. Sadly, two words kept echoing like annoying little taps against your apartment wall:
For now.
Every dream was only for now, even the ones worth chasing. This intrusive thought only made you hold onto Loki’s shoulders and press your cheek against his chest harder, refusing to let him go.
For now? For now…

YOUR HCS ARE GREAT, SUN. IMAGINE READER DATING SHIDOU RYUSEI AND THE PARENT FIGURES FIND OUT OF THEIR RELATIONSHIP WHEN SHIDOU MAKES A COMMENT IN THE MIDDLE OF TRAINING ABOUT READER.
HELLO ANON DID YOU LOOK RIGHT INTO MY BRAIN WHILE I WAS ASLEEP OR HOW DID YOU KNOW I WROTE SOMETHING LIKE THIS FOR MYSELF WITH MY BLUE LOCK OC AND NOA LITERALLY 2 WEEKS AGO???? Also if you like Shidou here's some relationship headcanons I posted about him recently!!!
Also thank you very much!!! I'm so happy people are enjoying my headcanons!!!
Masterlist of the father figure series (I recommend reading at least the first part before this)
Tags: gn!reader, reader is dating Shidou (based), father figures are confused and concerned (also based), I love Shidou so much thanks for letting me write him indirectly, occasional swear words, I get very feral over Shidou so my writing style is less in order in this one, Shidou my beloved cockroach (can you guys tell I love Shidou very very much? Please request more with him)
Noel Noa
-how did you and Shidou end up together? No fucking idea but it's Shidou so let's not ask too many questions alright?
-Bastard München vs PxG match. Shidou says something. Uh. Well. Something Shidou would say. RIGHT WHILE LOOKING INTO YOUR DIRECTION.
-Noa is playing on the field right now. And when he realizes what Shidou said was directed at you. Uhm.
-let's say Noa had to hold himself back from fouling him
-as soon as Noa leaves the field he walks to you and asks if you're alright and if you're uncomfortable by what Shidou said and. AND. THEN YOU...
-you tell Noa you and Shidou are dating and he can barely process the information. How? What? WHY??? All that running through his head
-despite the match still going on, Noa starts asking you all sorts of questions about Shidou. He tries to stay calm and you can hear his voice is a little more strict than usual
-he's so concerned that out of all Blue Lock players, your boyfriend is FUCKING SHIDOU RYUSEI
-but you reassure him it's okay and the relationship is going well
-get used to that reassuring because Noa will ask literally EVERY DAY multiple times about your relationship
Chris Prince
-Manshine City vs PxMatch, halftime break
-Shidou comes up to you and says something Shidou would say to you, while Chris is standing a few meters away, talking to Loki
-"LOKI YOU LET YOUR TEAMMEMBER SPEAK LIKE THAT???"-Chris, probably
-then the overprotective dad mode kicks in
-Chris walks over to you and Shidou, giving him a death stare. Shidou just grins
-to you, the whole situation is kind of funny so you burst out in laughter while Chris starts telling Shidou he should NOT say things like that about you
-"Oh, but they like it."-Shidou.
-Chris then looks at you and. Honestly, you're slowly getting embarrassed. You tell him Shidou is your boyfriend
-Chris is so confused because??? How??? So almost as an instinct his response is an immediate "no he isn't" which causes you to get more embarrassed and Shidou to laugh his ass off
-when the halftime break is over, Chris goes on the field to play and he's playing more aggressively than usual, which confuses you a bit
-later, when you're back in your room Chris starts asking you all sorts of questions about your relationship and it takes you a while to get him to calm down and not be overly worried about you anymore
Lavinho
-FC Barcha vs PxG match
-Shidou said all sorts of stuff during the match, and afterwards, he came to you and says something like "all of that was dedicated to you" AND LAVINHO CAN NOT BELIEVE HIS EARS
-probably starts yelling at Shidou for a solid minute while you try to get Lavinho's attention
-you calmly explain that it's okay because Shidou is your boyfriend and-
-Lavinho can not believe his ears (part 2)
-he takes you back to your room and makes you explain yourself. Most importantly he wants to know why you didn't tell him earlier about your relationship
-"Shidou said not to tell anyone because he thinks it's funnier if everyone finds out on their own."-you (took this directly from my OC x Shidou thing HEH)
-honestly Lavinho thinks that's funny as well so it's okay for him
-he'd like Shidou's sense of humour I think?? So he actually comes to terms with you and your boyfriend quite fast

Marvel at the beginning of the show: So this show will be about Loki learning to love himself and not being afraid of being lonely anymore.
Also Marvel: completely ignores Loki‘s trauma and tries to make him an evil narcissist** (Mobius is not qualified to make that assessment, especially since according to the TVA, Loki was supposed to do the bad things he did) at the beginning, tries to stick him with a Thor light version of himself, and has him end up alone, where once again, very few people will know or care when he did something heroic.
I liked season 2 a lot better than season 1, but that ending was whack.
If you don’t feel like reading a long rant, feel free to skip below. If you disagree with me and want to make your own long answer, write your own post. I’m mostly here to express my opinion, not get into long debates.
**Marvel doesn’t seem to understand much at all about mental health. I wish we could get whoever wrote Moon Knight to write everything about mental health in the MCU as they handled it in a decent way for a TV show. The last guy they tried to call a narcissist (Tony Stark) literally either tried to or sacrificed himself to save the universe more than once; as did Loki and his variants. Loki was set up to fail since the beginning of the timeline; and while obviously he’s far from innocent, acting like it was all his grievances were in his head and “imagined slights” or just a function of a narcissist is a pretty awful message to send about trauma. We know for a fact there’s a shit load wrong with Asgard, and an amazing slew of double standards in the MCU. It would be a great way to explain it to say it was all part of a timeline that was meant for somethings to turn out a certain way, but I’m not sure they’ll do that. But that’s my head canon anyway, based on what we saw in the What If series. There we see that when certain events aren’t set up and happen differently, heroes can go off the trail and villains can be just fine.
They conveniently showed Loki how Odin “loves him”, but not that he literally kidnapped him and lied that his birthright “was to die”, and just basically let everybody else off the hook including people who have done worse than Loki.
I understand if they didn’t want to use another actual mental health term, but instead of “narcissist” they could’ve just gone with Loki having “severe attachment issues” or something more vague like that, but then they might’ve actually had to talk about how he got them. Because I guarantee you when the majority of people hear the term narcissist they think of the worst kind who have all the worst full blown traits on the spectrum, not of the fragile kind, who do have self-esteem issues, share a lot of traits with BPD, and are said to be more rare. They most definitely don’t think of people who would sacrifice themselves.
I personally see Loki as Borderline with some narcissistic traits (who wouldn’t have them being raised a royal in a place like Asgard). With Tony I think some of his supposedly worst traits were him trying to cover up his trauma. Sorry Natasha, but an assassin/spy who works for a shady government organization is not qualified to make a mental health assessment. Neither is Mobius.

Chapter 3 - The Council
Series Masterlist
<- Chapter 2
Summary: Loki meets up with the council for the first time and gets confronted with his past doings.
Warnings: internalized racism, a bad reference to the sex-pollen trope, cringey writing
Word count: 2.640
Tumblr media
You had walked through the icy streets for a while. Everything here reminded you of medieval markets at the renaissance fair just on ice. The houses that were planted without a specific pattern rose around the, what you assumed, marketplace.
As you walked by some stands, Jotuns hastily packed up their goods. You smiled at one of the market traders, but she only rewarded you with a cold stare.
“Can I ask you something?” you quietly asked Loki.
“If it’s not a pun.” he huffed as he stomped through the snow. “…it’s not a pun.” you glared at him for ruining the perfect opportunity to lighten the mood, “I was just wondering why the Jotuns seem to-“
“Despise us?”
“Despise is such a strong word. I would’ve said that they seem wary of us.”
“Admit it, you wanted to say ‘icy’ in the first place.” Loki raised his eyebrow at you.
“Tsk, I would never.” you feigned innocence, “And stop deflecting my question.”
“Jotuns don’t like other beings. If you do not look like them, you are simply beneath them. They hate each and everyone, even their own kin.” Loki explained reluctantly.
“But why?”
“Because Frost giants are primitive beings who oppose any rules and generally create havoc and hassle.” you could hear the bitterness in Loki’s voice.
“So that’s where you got your mischievous side?” you chuckled out loud but regretted it instantly. Loki stopped dead in his tracks as he looked down at you sternly.
“I’m not like them.” he pressed through gritted teeth. Silence fell over you heavily as you continued your stroll.
“I didn’t mean to insult you…” you whispered sheepishly; your eyes glued to the path before your feet.
“Let’s just get back to our rooms.” Loki changed the topic. You walked in silence for a while when you arrived at the gardens before the palace. Your gaze wandered over the uneven path as you tried to navigate your feet around all the icy lumps and clumps that got denser the closer you got to the garden.
At first, you hadn’t even realised that the weird-looking clumps on the floor were flowers but as you got closer the icy clumps emerged into intricate flowers that glistened in the setting sunlight.
“Woow, look at these! They look like ice.” you gasped and let yourself fall onto your knees, right in front of the flowers.
“Don’t touch them!” Loki hurriedly exclaimed.
“Why? Are they poisonous?” your pulled back your hand instantly.
“No… but I don’t think you’d like their effect on you.” Loki hummed and hawed.
“Why? No… are you for real? Are they like these aphrodisiacs you hear of all the time?” you asked with a cheeky grin.
“Well.. yeah. Kind of.” Loki rubbed his neck awkwardly, “But they won’t bloom until spring if not disturbed.”
“What would happen if you’d touch them,” you asked with curious eyes.
“Y/N, I’m not going to explain this in detail. I believe you can imagine it without my help.” you could see a faint tint of red spreading over Loki’s cheeks. You loved teasing him, especially when you succeeded.
“Man, I never realised how prude you can be. This isn’t about anything nasty. I just wanna understand the science behind it. After all, I’m here to learn more about Jotunheim.” You shrugged innocently.
“Maybe another time. I have to meet with the council in a bit. I don’t want them to wait for me… in the end, they’ll plot against me if I don’t show up on time.” Loki cleared his throat.
“You really are something… so distrustful.” You shook your head slightly, “Try going into this a bit more positively. Might change how they’ll welcome you. This is strange for both sides Lo. All they know is, that you suddenly showed up. They don’t know for what.”
“I know these people.” Loki remarked almost sad, “All they know is to stir up conflict. I’m just trying to think ahead of them.”
“Maybe they’ll surprise you… in a positive way.” you shrugged.

His fists were clenched tightly as he approached the courtroom with long strides. His footsteps echoed through the icy hallways, bouncing off the walls. When he entered through the tall doors, he could feel the tense mood that lay over the room as he walked to an empty seat that was close by the socle in the centre of the hall. All the while he was closely monitored by a dozen of ruby eyes.
As one of the elders stepped onto the socle to begin the conference, he could hear hushed whispers all around him. He knew he wasn’t welcome here, that’s why he didn’t want to come back in the first place. The last time he had interacted with Jotunheim it hadn’t ended well. Loki’s attention was quickly pulled back to the present as the voice of the elder resounded through the icy hall.
"We are gathered here today as one to speak about the future of our nation. As we have known for a long time, the winters have become harsher and the…" Ymir, the elder suddenly began to hesitate for a moment as if he was searching for the most diplomatic words possible, "external influences have hastened the decay of our great nation. That's why we have come together to find a solution as a union of Jotunheim and… Midgard." Ymir drawled the last word, "Our rightful King has returned to assist us in our efforts and mend the relation between our nation and Midgard."
As diplomatic as Ymir tried to sound, Loki could still tell that the appreciative-sounding words were spoken with a hint of indifference towards Loki's efforts. He didn't seem to be convinced of the King's motives yet, probably assuming that Loki wouldn't pull through with his assistance.
“We don’t need a traitor to help us!” a voice suddenly disrupted the order, heads turning and chatter starting to erupt. Loki's eyes snapped away from the elder, scanning the crowd as to make out the instigator.
“Silence!” Ymir boomed sharply, “This is a court of order not chaos.” he scolded sharply.
“But the people are right, Ymir.” another Jotun raised from his seat, standing up to Ymir, “We are making progress already without help from any other tenuous realm. We don’t need their pity.”
Loki’s face twitched. How dare this arrogant Jotun to think he was too good to get assistance from outside this god-forsaken realm, let alone from Loki. If anything, he wasn’t worth Loki’s time or effort. Especially if he didn’t even want help in the first place. Loki glared at the impudent Jotun, his jaw clenching as he stared him down.
“We have everything under control. We don’t need help.” The Jotun grumbled deeply, shooting Loki a scornful glare.
“Yet your population is still shrinking alarmingly with each passing day.” Loki found himself sneering as he got to his feet before he even processed what he was doing.
“You helped decimate us in the first place.” The Jotun spat back, taking a menacing step towards Loki who didn't budge the slightest.
“But I have returned to help.” Loki continued sternly, “What more do you want from me?”
“How? Will you do to us what you have done to your father? Will you wipe us out like the other Frost Giants when you directed the Bifrost directly at us? Why should we trust you?” the Jotun growled with bared teeth.
Loki swallowed thickly. He knew that it wasn’t a smart idea to come here again. It was just a matter of time for the Jotuns to lunge at him for his past doings and end his life for goof. His body tensed up, bracing for the inevitable attack. What would they do to you once he was incapacitated to protect you?
He jumped a bit when the elder Ymir chimed in again, stepping between the two placidly.
“I know the emotions are still running high on either side of this conflict.” he began calmly, addressing the Jotun directly now, “But we have gathered to find a solution, not to stir up another war between the realms. King Loki has returned, despite his wrongdoings in the past, and he is here to help us as a nation to overcome the shortcomings that were caused by the conflicts of the past. We do not ask you to forgive him, but we urge you to think of the future of our kind. Your parents, brothers and sisters, children and all the coming generations. Think of them and what you could provide for them if we manage to overcome these trying times.”
Loki was surprised by Ymir’s words. Since when had the Frost Giant developed a sense of community or even empathy? And since when were children, not a mere necessity to continue their bloodline, devil-may-care? He was actually talking of families and lives and how they could improve their future, not just how to maintain the mere existence of their race.
Loki and the Jotun exchanged one last glare before sitting back down again, the session progressing more proficiently. The conference continued till late into the night as the Jotuns described their predicament in great detail to fill Loki in.
“Elder Ymir.” Loki approached him once the discussion had ended, the other Jotuns already leaving. “Thank you for-“ but before he could finish his sentence, the elder raised his hand to quiet Loki.
“If I may give you advice, your highness…. maybe if you did not oppose to your own skin as much you could be able to reach their hearts.”  he looked deep into Loki’s eyes as if to reach Loki’s own heart with his suggestion. Loki felt taken aback by his request, his nose flaring as his throat constricted.
“I’m not opposed to anything.” he lied, trying to keep his voice steady.
“Then it surely won’t be a problem to take a step towards your kind and get closer to a compromise, would it?” the elder remarked slyly.
“No… I supposed not.” Loki replied small as if he was taken back to being a young boy being led kindly in the right direction by his father. An odd feeling, Loki had to admit.
“I’m sure we’ll be able to come to a solution, sire.” Ymir gently patted Loki’s arm, “Just give your people time to process what’s happening. They’re scared, overwhelmed and wary. Give them some time to adjust… to build trust.”
“I will try my best.” Loki nodded.
“Thank you, your highness.” a small smile played on the lips of the elder, “Let’s get some rest and continue our negotiations in the morning.”
Loki nodded and as if he was under a spell, he parted ways with the elder, walking back to his chambers. On his way, he started to gradually snap out of his trance, as if he had been so shocked by the elder’s kindness, that he had forgotten all his effervescent emotions that wanted to spill over his lips during the discussion. Loki still didn’t like the idea of having to change into his Jotun form, but he argued with himself that this diplomatic mission would go over quicker if he’d make the first step towards reconciliation and show up as one of them to earn their trust. Even if he didn’t want to earn anything because he had nothing to prove to anyone... it wouldn’t hurt to get what he wanted quicker if that meant tricking Jotuns into believing he was one of them. After all, these daft creatures would eat from his hands in no time. Loki was sure of that.
Tumblr media
Days passed quickly as Loki started to find his rhythm. During the mornings he could chat with you while having breakfast together while you talked about all your plans for the day. You had already managed to make friends with the young Maid Aria that had brought you to your room on the first day in Jotunheim. Loki envied you for your open nature and the ease you had to make people feel comfortable around you. Loki had been wary of Aria at first, but she had turned out as an exception to any Jotun he had ever met. She was timid and kind, always looking for ways to make him and you feel more welcomed and comfortable around the palace. And if you liked and trusted her, Aria couldn’t be too bad, that’s at least how Loki argued with himself.
As soon as Loki would leave the dining hall to walk towards the council, his skin would slowly start to change hues, getting paler with each echoing step he took until it turned from a soft sky blue into a rich dark blue colour that made his features appear even harsher, the intricate markings not helping either. Even his clothes changed into something more appropriate in Jotunheim. He felt exposed without his armour plate, feeling vulnerable to possible attacks by disgruntled members of the council. But as long as he was able to avoid any reflecting surfaces, he would be ok and soon forget about his changed appearance.
But Ymir had been right. The Jotuns were slowly warming up to the idea of Loki helping them. After their long days in court, he was finally brought out to inspect the damages the attacks by the Aesir had left. Not only the devastating impact of his own attack but also the liberation struggles of Odin and even Thor's visits had left their impression on the Jotunheim's infrastructure. Deep craters lined all over the terrain, pulling apart neighbouring houses and villages. Loki couldn’t help the feeling of shame and dread creep up as he saw all the destroyed homes that lay in ruins. The remnants of their inhabitors left behind to rot away slowly, a bitter memory of what once had housed a loving family.
Often times when Loki came back after these gruelling and draining meetings, he'd head directly to the living area of the palace, his shimmer set back into place firmly before he even entered the wing you were allowed to roam freely in. When he'd enter through the wooden doors, you either were welcoming him back with a huge smile and a tight hug, taking away all these negative feelings and thoughts he had gathered during the day. You would report your daily discoveries, making him forget anything that he had seen that day, even if it was just for a few hours.
On other nights, just like tonight, you were already fast asleep on the couch in front of the fireplace, too tired to wait for Loki to come back. Loki couldn’t help the smile that tugged on the corners of his mouth as he watched you sleep peacefully for a moment. And then he felt it again. He interpreted it as the envy of your ability to sleep so peacefully. You had nothing that kept you awake at night. You hadn’t done anything as horrible as he had done. Maybe it was fair that he would toss and turn each night, as he realised that he was indeed not any different than the Jotun's. He had been just as much of a monster as they were. Destroying the houses and the lives of innocent, no matter how awful they might have been or could've turned out to be.
Loki shook away these thoughts quickly, instead leaning over your frame and softly kissing your hair before he scooped you up into his arms to carry you back to your room, so you could get a well-deserved night's rest. Loki noticed that the wind outside had picked up tonight, the snow dunes whipping against the windows of the castle as he walked past them. The storm had arrived quicker than Loki had anticipated and it seemed to be quite substantial.

OK. I need to talk about it (particularly because I rewatched the entire series yesterday) ! Like many, I'm shipping Sylvie & Loki, otherwise known as Sylki, from the Loki series from Disney +.
However, I always manage to come across anti bullshit, each time I go to the tag dedicated to this couple. And it's unbearable. Especially with the bullshit being said there.
So already, people basically don't like Sylki and Sylvie, because Sylvie would treat Loki "horribly" and "use him"…
So… It's forgotten that Loki was probably planning to kill her at the start of Episode 3, but didn't because she was the only one who knew how to recharge the Time Pad. So technically, the two contemplated killing each other, and served each other up in episode 3.
Also, by the end of episode 2 and the beginning of episode 3, Sylvie is completely normal with Loki the rest of the time, and even cares about him. The two actually end up forming a willing partnership. Sylvie even wanted to face Alioth on her own, and for Loki to return to TVA. When he said that if she goes, he goes too, she made it clear that his plan might not work out, so she cares about his life and she always proposes that he go. with Mobvious. Hello for "treat him horribly / only use him".
Then clear me of doubt…
But isn't Sylvie a Loki variant ? So she looks like him in that fact, right ? Doesn't she go through almost the same arc, or rather similar (it's much more correct) to the one that Loki had in the films ? I'm guessing with that logistics, you mustn't like Thor and Loki's brotherly relationship either ? And that it's especially Loki that you should hate in this relationship, considering how he treated Thor at one point (even if Thor is not without fault in this whole complicated family affair) and even tried to kill him in the first movie ? Along the same lines, I guess you don't like the Frigga and Loki relationship, and therefore specifically Loki, since he emotionally hurt his mother in the second film and unwittingly caused her death afterwards…
Seems like these are two very popular relationships within the fandom, and Loki has never been hated for the slips he made in those relationships, not to mention the other bad things he did on the side . There are even a lot of people who ship Thor and Loki together ! So… If you hate Sylvie because she "wasn't nice" to Loki… Why don't you hate Loki himself for a lot of things that happened before the show ?! Because, technically, there is no difference ! And Sylvie did not watch Loki, only what he himself did to his relatives ! He says it himself : He betrayed all the characters he loved and who loved him ! That Sylvie "betrayed" Loki at the end of the series therefore had a certain obviousness, even if compared to what some say, it is not so much a question of betrayal as of being blinded by the need for revenge.
So why is Sylvie getting so much hate for not being "nice / loyal to Loki unfailingly" to Loki ? The only real difference technically is that she's a woman, and… Oh. That's the difference. Obviously !
Then, some hate this relationship for the "incest" aspect…
So…
Sylvie and Loki are not brother and sister. They have nothing to do with family.
Yes, they're technically "the same person", according to the show, but it's a lot more complicated than that actually, and I imagine the rest of the show will expand on that aspect. A variant is not exactly the same person. It's more or less a mutation I think. And if I say no bullshit, even on the DNA level it is different. And Sylvie refuses to truly define herself as a Loki, and rightly so. They are different people, who have had their own lives and experiences on their own. They are not the same, but similar. Two different things.
Then there are other people who don't like it for the "narcissistic aspect", and I refer you for that to this article by the director of Loki which explains what "self-love" really means. through the sylki relationship in the series. Which ultimately has nothing to do with narcissism, you can imagine. There is also talk about the incest aspect that he refutes just as much !
Also, again, there are people who ship Thor and Loki. And they are brother. Yes, not biologically, but for the rest ? They are brothers in every way that matters. However, it doesn't bother anyone to ship them, and I've never seen anyone be scandalized by it like with Sylki, who once again has nothing to do with incest in the end...
And even if it was ! I want to tell you… who cares ? Yes, because, little detail that a lot of people seem to forget… It's gods, isn't it ? Isn't incest common among the gods ? Yes, I know, among the Nordic gods it was not very well seen, unlike among the Greek gods, or we don't care ! But ! However, if you look closely, even if the Nordic gods were not in favor of incest, at least for the Aesir, well it still happened, especially among the Vanir, who were totally in favor of it ! And that I know, like the Greek gods, it had no genetic repercussions ! Because… Well they are gods, again ! And the conventions of mortals and their constraints, who cares for the gods !?
So your moralizing discourse, you can keep it to yourself.
And then… The most pathetic aspect of the returning reviews is about the kiss, which apparently "doesn't make them romantically canon." So, despite the fact that the romance is very assumed throughout the series, it is not canon, and the only thing that could make it seem romantic would be the kiss, but which in fact is nothing romantic ! So it's not canon ! Compiled once again that by the way Sylvie has only used Loki throughout this story…
So, I've already refuted the "Sylvie having used Loki" aspect, so I'm not going to come back to it… But ! I won't refute that Sylvie used the kiss a bit to distract Loki and then send him somewhere else. Except… Well she didn't have to kiss him specifically for that. She could have chosen another method, which implies that she wanted kiss him somewhere. The director also explains that Sylvie actually kissed Loki to say goodbye ! Especially since it's not as if the series had already shown before that Sylvie had feelings for Loki ! People forgot the fucking Nexus in the beginning of episode 4 ?! Because, yes, I remind you that we are not talking about one-sided love in this mess ! It is always insunated that it is reciprocal ! They are referred to as a couple of Loki in the series ! Miss minute offers them a universe where they could be together ! If only the "shared blanket / tablecloth" scene damn it ! Oh yes ! It sure looks like one-sided love... ! Yes, because for some people ; Sylvie is not in love with Loki and has only used her personal feelings to distract him in this moment…
Are you being stupid or blind on purpose ?
Seriously, I keep seeing jerks say "What are Sylki fans celebrating in that kiss! It's not romantic canonization! She's just manipulating it! There's never nothing romantic between them in the whole series!"
It's on the same level as everyone who said Reylo was nothing romantic and the kiss finally shared at the end of all their romantic tension over 3 movies was nothing romantic and was just an impulse to thank him, or even worse a "brotherly kiss" !
The comparison is all the more relevant as some say that "Yes, Sylvie loves Loki, but like a brother ! Or, I prefer that she loves him like a brother!" !
It is pathetic.

Loki….AKA….Mr. Wide Mouth
Tumblr media
Rating: PG (creepy depiction of character)
Language: None
Loki and gender neutral reader
Synopsis: You enjoyed reading creepypastas during Halloween but you always got scared. To counter this fear, Loki turned into the monsters that frightened you to show you there is no reason to be scared. You’ve come to expect it now, and read creepypastas in order for Loki to give you his special “don’t be scared” antidote (tickles).
You were enjoying reading creepypasta this Halloween as you discovered many new stories. One such story was about Mr. Wide Mouth. You bravely clicked the link to go to the story with a deep breath. Nervous energy surged through your body as you began to go through Mr. Wide Mouth’s history.
As you began reading, you learned that this entity was very mischievous (sounds like someone you know, huh?), but unlike your boyfriend, who was mischievous in a good way, Mr. Wide Mouth manipulated children into hurting themselves causing many deaths. Something Loki would never even dream of doing to you or anyone else. “Not so bad,” you thought. “I can handle this.” The story went like this: the person who was telling the story suffered from mononucleosis or “the kissing disease.” This happened when they were around five years old and bedridden because of being ill. They eventually meet a small creature with a large mouth not long after being diagnosed with Mono and asked the creature what his name was. The small creature responded by saying that his name was Mr. Widemouth, to which the child commented on its appearance. (Now this is cute)The child then told the creature he looked like one of those Furby dolls that children played with. Mr. Widemouth didn’t understand what that meant until the child finally explained to him what a Furby actually was. To this, the entity filed away into memory that this toy could never compare to being an actual friend.
He actually hid under the child’s bed because he didn’t want the parents to see him because then they wouldn’t let him play with the child. After meeting and spending some time with him after the mother did her daily check in. Mr. Widemouth then told the child he wanted to take them to a small room at the end of a hallway inside the house. The child then refused Mr. Widemouth’s offer, but then agreed due to the entity’s constant offer. Once you were both in the room, Mr. Widemouth opened the window the sat opposite of the door and called the child to look at the ground below them. Because they were on the second floor and sat on a hill, the drop ended up going further than originally thought. Mr. Widemouth then told the child that he pretended there had been a trampoline waiting for them down at the bottom and if he imagined hard enough, he could bounce up as light as a feather and told the child to try it. The child once again declined the offer and Mr. Widemouth’s features eerily turned into a snarl for a brief second before he slid underneath the child’s bed and stayed there for the rest of the day without making a sound. The following day, Mr. Widemouth went to the child holding a small box, telling them that he wanted to teach them how to juggle and what was in the box would help the child practice. As the child opened the box, they were horrified to see knives inside. The child grew angry at the entity, saying they couldn’t play with the knives as their parents didn’t allow them to touch knives at all. Mr. Widemouth frowned as he asked the child once more to pick up the knives. The child declined once more, his face turned into a scowl and he returned under the bed the entire day, again. The child then tried to explain how they were unable to sleep due to Mr. Widemouth laying under the bed until bedtime and then wake them up, telling them he put a trampoline that the child couldn’t see outside. This time when the child declined, the entity would persist about the trampoline, going as far as staying with them the entire night trying to make them jump. When the child finally got permission to go outside, Mr. Widemouth waited for them and told them of a trail that he would take them to once they were ready.
One day, the child and their family got all of their belongings into a vehicle and were ready to leave. The child then saw Mr. Widemouth staring at them through a window, staying completely still until the vehicle started moving. He then waved at the child, but one hand held a steak knife. Let’s just say, the child refused to wave back at him. After this, the child returned to the old house, but it was nowhere to be seen. That was because it had burned down after the child had moved. The now adult person, decided they should then walk down the trail that Mr. Widemouth promised he would take them down once they were ready, but the person stopped and saw a memorial cemetery in its place. In the cemetery, most if not all of the headstones looked to have belonged to children.
You finished the story and actually didn’t feel scared but you had to let on to Loki that you were. Therefore, as before, you jumped under the covers and pretended to be scared. Loki was home on this day, but let you have your own space for a while to read your stories alone. Once you were ready you yelled, “Loki! Please come here! I’m scared of these stories again. I need you!” Like a bolt of lightning, Loki ran upstairs to see you wrapped tightly underneath the bed covers, seemingly shaking. You even faked like you were crying so he’d really buy into it. “My dear,” he said calmly. “Why are you still reading those stories? You know they scare you so. Please. Please come out from under there so I may hold you until you are no longer frightened.” Then he heard something. Something that sounded like a small giggle. That’s when you jumped out at Loki and said, “gotcha! Hahaha! You should see your face, Loki! It’s priceless! Hahaha!” The god had been tricked by you and it took him a couple of seconds to realize he’d been had. “You know,” he began. Hands on his hips, shaking his head with a small smile. “No one has ever gotten the upper hand in tricking me, but you did….Now you’re in real trouble.”
Loki then stalked towards you on the bed and pinned you down. “Now who has the upper hand, darling?” With that, he took one hand and pulled up your shirt, revealing your belly. “I think this is a good place to start,” he smirked. Slowly, he glided his long fingers over your soft skin as you giggled and jerked. “Lahahahoki! Nahahaooo!” you begged as he began taking you apart. “Loki, yes!” he replied evilly. This time, his smile grew like that of Mr. Wide mouth and kind of freaked you out. “L-Loki, stop! Don’t smile like that! You know the story I read still kind of freaked me out.” Loki immediately mentally kicked himself for scaring you. “I’m so sorry, love,” he began. You thought for a second. “ Hmm….i guess I can forgive you, my mischievous prince.” You hugged as you felt him lightly tickle you and tried getting out of his grip but it was no use. “You still need to be punished for your prank against me,” he whispered in your ear. “Do what you must,” you smiled back at him. Giving him complete permission to yet again, torment you. “I wonder where else you are ticklish, love? Let’s find out. Shall we?” Loki then took his index finger and ran it along your ribs as you once again lost all sanity. “Ahahahaha! S-stop t-teasing,” you nearly screamed at his words. “Oh, love. I’ve gone way past teasing. Now the real fun has begun…Tickle. Tickle. Tickle.” All he did was wiggle his fingers at you this time and you tried cowering away be was stuck as Loki was still straddling you. “Ahh! Music to my ears!” he observed. He then got another weak spot, your sides. Your skin was riddled with goosebumps as he skittered his fingers over the area with glee. “My goodness! Who knew you were ticklish everywhere on your cute little body? I barely touch you and you lose your mind. You definitely make this relationship more fun, darling,” he finally proclaimed. “Glad I could help,” you laughed as he continued. The last place he tormented you was your hips. At this, you let out another loud screaming laugh as Loki toggled his fingers around the bone. “Oh? I didn’t know you were sensitive here, darling,” he said surprised. “Neheheither did I! Hahaha!” Finally, he let you go and told you that he must be rubbing off of you for you to play such a trick. “That’s a good thing,” he then said. “Yeah. Then I can go toe to toe with you,” you replied. “If you say so, darling,” he laughed. You both spent the rest of the day cuddling and teasing one another as Loki was glad you actually weren’t scared of those stories anymore.
*Not my best work but I did my best to get into detail. Might’ve needed more. I’m always really critical of myself. Hahaha!

10 characters/10 fandoms
YESSS THANK YOU @jaynesilver FINALLY MY WIDE READING OF FIC COMES IN HANDYYY
We're gonna go chronologically through my life because I think that's REALLY FUN (I legit couldn't choose a west wing character just know that if there's a secret 11th character is the ensemble cast of the west wing)
Artemis Fowl, Artemis Fowl
My first antihero, and we started YOUNG on that, I was reading these books premiddle school. I was obsessed with these books as a kid, and I'm still obsessed with them today. There's rumors of a third, more adult series when Artemis and Holly may get together and I will EAT THAT SHIT UP I LOVE THEM
2. Vexen, Kingdom Hearts
I Legit think this man primed me to enjoy Hux as a character. Like, I'm not kidding, I was obsessed with him as a kid. I'm 90% certain I wrote deviant art fan fic, but I have since abandoned that account so it's hard to know for sure if it ever got published. I was definitely roll playing at age, like, 13? way too young but god I loved him he was BATSHIT
3. Ianto Jones, Torchwood
Man, I can't really explain how much Ianto Jones as a character, he and Jack's kiss on screen, their relationship, and the events of the 456 changed me? It was DEEP though, I woke up the next day a different person, with much less trust in television writer's and their good intentions.
4. Desmond Miles, Assassin's Creed
We have to jump a few years to mid high school, because no joke I was on that Kingdom Hearts train for a WHILE. I love him, he was probably my first blorbo, before the term was invented. I tried to play the games after (MAJOR SPOILER) but I just couldn't do it. They didn't have the draw without him.
5. Stiles Stilinski, Teen Wolf
Now we've hit late high school, arguably my second blorbo. As a kid with ADHD, he was no joke valuable representation to me, even if it was sometimes played for laughs. I was also the least athletic kid on multiple sports teams who still tried really hard, so I got him, yknow?
6. Will Graham, Hannibal
It's legit tough for me to chose if I like the Will Graham of the books or the TV show better. (Don't ask me about the movies, I haven't seen them, and I probably won't. Movies and I have trouble. See: ADHD.) I'm not sure if he's a blorbo or just like, a regular character I like? My hannibal phase was my last 8 year ship, so the line is pretty blurred.
Now we've reached the part where I dived into a lot of fandoms at once, because I dropped out of college and kind of did a weird spiral? Idk, we've lost chronology is what I'm saying
7. Artemis Crock, Young Justice
god I cannot say enough good things about her and I also cannot express how much (MAJOR SPOILER) made me mad FOR HER. Like it was cruel specifically to her and we should talk more about that, honestly. She was definitely a blorbo, but we're still PRE blorbo as a word in my vocabulary.
8. Darcy Lewis, MCU
My first real fandom bicycle, I ship her with everyone from Loki to Agent Coulson to Natasha. As someone who often feels like the comic relief character in their own life, I appreciate her.
9. Kent Parson, OMG Check Please
My sweet, sweet disaster son. My emotionally constipated hockey boy. The reason captain america is my SECOND favorite character with a birthday on the Fourth of July. I love him, he was amazing, and also my first experience with like, really toxic fandom was being so mad when people tried to equate his canon mental health issues with a noncanon, imagined abuse?? It was wild, I ended up so distressed about it i did have to leave the fandom.
10. Armitage Hux, Star Wars
I mean you've been on my blog for like ten seconds i think it's obvious?? The others needed explanations but like YOURE HERE YOU KNOW
WAIT I FORGOT TO TAG PEOPLE SHIT @sariastrategos @gingersnappish @fallingdeeperintothispit

Tumblr media
Loki x commoner!Reader (they/them)

Warnings: angst, probably with a happy ending, Odin being an asshole (what else is new), jealous Loki
Song for this chapter: Afterglow by Sunrise Avenue
series masterlist
Tumblr media
I’ve had this fic on my laptop for ages and wasn’t really sure what to do with it. Recently, I’ve started reading more of @lokisgoodgirl ‘s writing and it has inspired me to edit this piece and finally post it. This will be a series. I’m not quite sure yet how many parts it will have but I will figure that out as I continue writing.
The title is a line from the song “Afterglow” by Sunrise Avenue. It really inspired me for this first part of the fic.
@lokisgoodgirl Here comes the fic I was talking about. I really hope you like it! 😊
Tumblr media
Loki had made many mistakes in his life. He could count each of them, every single one that haunted him. He wished he could undo them.
His biggest mistake, however, remained letting you go.
Loki pressed his lips together, the sound of your laughter reaching his ears as you talked to some random person he didn’t bother learning the name of.
You had that sparkling look in your eyes, the one he’d never been able to turn away from. The one that managed to hypnotize him every time.
Loki didn’t have to be close to you to know that. You always had that expression on your face when you laughed. Your nose would crinkle and you would smile so brightly it could blind.
He could easily imagine the exact expression on your face even with his eyes closed, the sight having been burned into his brain.
His chest constricted painfully.
Loki looked away, even more upset by the amount of effort it took to turn his back to you. He rejoined the conversation he’d previously had with Thor as if nothing had happened.
As if your presence alone hadn’t been enough to plunge his entire world into chaos.
Thor didn’t comment on the pause in their conversation, or the edge in Loki’s tone. Loki had to admit he was grateful for his brother’s obliviousness, just this once. He inquired about the progress of the new warriors, trying his best to drown out your voice behind him.
Unfortunately for him, Loki had spent so much time with you, listening to you. He’d come to know you better than anyone – maybe even better than himself.
It certainly seemed that way sometimes, at least to him.
And because he knew you so well, Loki saw you before him even when his back was turned, could imagine the way you carried yourself simply by the tone in your voice.
You were still talking to that stranger from before. Loki guessed the exchange had lasted longer than half an hour by now. You’d been engrossed in a passionate conversation with one of your friends when he’d entered the hall earlier. Not long after his arrival, you’d turned to said stranger.
Loki gritted his teeth. Your voice had that tone to it, the one that still sent a shiver down his spine, even though it wasn’t even directed at him.
You were flirting.
Loki tried his best to keep the memories away that resurfaced from deep inside his mind. He nodded at something Thor had said, unable to understand a single word. His hands clenched into fists by his sides, his breathing uneven despite his efforts to stay calm.
You laughed again.
Loki could see the way you’d usually rest your hand on someone’s shoulder, leaning closer when they said something, as you always did when you were interested in someone. Judging by the pitch in your voice, it was successful.
With a quickly whispered apology to Thor, Loki hurried out of the meeting hall, barely enough self-control left not to start running.
He hoped his brother wouldn’t ask questions later. He really wouldn't be able to handle that, having to explain himself.
Especially not to Thor.
Once the heavy doors fell shut behind him and drowned out the noise, Loki could finally breathe again. He pressed his back against the wall, relying on the surface to keep him upright as his legs almost gave out beneath him.
Now, without anyone around, nothing could distract him from the memories, no matter how much he fought against them.
Your face. The way you smiled at him with those sparkling eyes while you listened to him talk. The way you would sometimes pick at a random loose thread on your clothes when you were nervous.
The feeling of your hand entwined with his, when you looked at him like he held all the secrets of the universe.
How it felt to kiss you, being able to hold you in his arms.
“I’m the luckiest person in the universe,” he’d once told you. Your laughter rang through the air, and you’d pushed him so hard with your elbow he almost fell over. But you kissed him afterwards, your hands buried in his hair, and he lost all sense of time and space.
Loki banged the back of his head against the wall in frustration. His eyes burned. The dizziness spreading through him afterwards didn’t help to ease his pain.
By the Norns, he missed you. He missed you so much he could barely breathe.
His legs indeed gave out, sending Loki tumbling to the ground. He hit the hard floor with a low thud and a hiss, remaining there for a moment. His heart constricted painfully in his chest.
The corridor remained empty, which was quite a surprise given that a meeting had been in progress before his sudden disappearance. A meeting that was still going on now, judging by the noise echoing through the door.
Apparently nobody bothered to ask where the prince had scurried off to. Typical.
With a sob rising in his throat, Loki leaned back against the wall, pulling his knees up to wrap his arms around them. His vision was turning blurry.
Usually, Loki would have cared, would’ve fought back the tears until he was in the safety of his rooms with the door closed.
It was simply too much this time. Too many memories emerging from the deep corner in his mind where he’d stored them away. The first tear left his eye, making its way down his skin, burning as it went.
“You promised!”
Your voice was breaking, those beautiful eyes still shining brightly – this time with tears. Tears he’d caused.
“You promised you wouldn’t leave me!”
Your hair was a mess, hands clenched into fists as you stared at him angrily. The rage was almost convincing, but the pained look on your face betrayed you.
Loki simply knew you too well.
“Something has changed. I need to be acquainted with the right people, and being with you simply isn’t fit for a prince.”
The words tasted bitter on his tongue. They sounded so wrong, so hollow and lifeless. Like they weren’t his words at all.
Loki tried his best to avoid looking at your face. He knew that he would break as soon as he had to watch the sad expression spreading over your features. He would fall to his knees and beg for your forgiveness.
But this was an order directly from the Allfather. He didn’t have a choice.
Loki turned away, unable to take the pain on your face any longer. His heart was breaking a little bit more with every step he took away from you, as if a part of him was slowly dying.
Your sobs, though…
Loki heard the first pained whimper leave your lips when he reached the doors. He froze with his hand hovering in the air. Your crying tore him apart from the inside, like a blade slowly splitting him in two. He almost turned back around, wrapping you up in his arms and explaining everything.
For that split moment, Loki wondered what would happen if he defied the Allfather. If he stood his ground and refused to leave you. If he left Asgard together with you and fled to some distant corner of the Nine Realms where you could build a life together.
What would happen then?
Loki didn’t turn back to you. He left you in the empty throne room, his composure shattering the moment the doors fell shut behind him. Once back in his room, he buried his face in a pillow and finally allowed the tears to fall, sobbing helplessly.
After hours, he’d screamed himself hoarse.
It did nothing to ease his pain.
Loki covered his face with his hands, the desperate cry that fell from his lips echoing through the empty hallway. His throat ached from the strain when the cry slowly turned into an actual scream. He waved his hand, hiding himself with a spell so nobody would be able to see or hear him.
He let out another wordless scream, feeling his soul leave his body along with the sound.
Loki kept going until only a huff of air came from his lips. Afterwards, he dragged himself back to his room, keeping the illusion up so nobody saw him. He collapsed onto his bed and didn’t lift his face out of his pillow for the rest of the day.
Tumblr media
Loki avoided meetings and gatherings for the next few weeks. The castle’s rumor mill had unfortunately clung to his hasty escape from the meeting, and now the servants were whispering about it. They immediately fell silent when he’d round the corner, looking somewhat guilty every time he greeted them.
The servants weren’t the only ones. Even the Warriors Three and Lady Sif had apparently gotten wind of something. Thor joined in when they joked around – because of course he did. Thor had never really noticed how his actions hurt others, after all.
Loki had therefore barricaded himself in his rooms. He couldn’t bear going outside just to see people looking at him with either a mocking expression or a concerned one full of empathy.
He couldn’t say which one was worse.
Loki stayed away from meetings, letting Thor fill him in on the newest developments in the realm. Sometimes, he had thoughts to spare that might be helpful, but most of the time he stayed out of politics and any other developments. He wasn’t sure if his input was desired anyway.
Thor seemed to have realized something was off by week three of Loki hiding in his quarters. Maybe it was due to the rumor mill, Loki wasn’t sure. Whatever the reason, Thor had started offhandedly mentioning you in his updates – casually, as if you were just a reference, a footnote in their lives.
Loki had to fight not to throttle him. You weren’t a footnote, you were the whole damn book.
He was only a footnote in your life if anything.
“Stop pretending like you don’t want to tell me news about Y/n,” Loki said one day after Thor had spent another fifteen minutes just sprinkling random details about you into his reports. “I know what the rumors are saying. If you want to know what truly happened, just ask.”
Thor had looked at him in surprise, as if he wasn’t aware of how obvious his behavior was. He’d sighed, his shoulders falling in what could be relief, before sending his brother a soft smile.
“The rumors are saying Y/n is the reason you left the meeting a few weeks ago, brother. Is that true?”
Loki gulped. Yes, he had allowed his brother to ask questions. He’d hoped his escape from the meeting wouldn’t be the first question, though. Unfortunately, Thor sometimes possessed the empathy of a bull in a china shop, so, was it really a surprise?
“Yes,” Loki simply responded. There was no reason to lie to Thor, not right now. Not when it came to you. His brother was his only ally in this matter, after all, his only connection to the outside and the world of the court.
Thor slowly nodded his head, maybe debating Loki’s response.
“I haven’t seen Y/n around ever since you left the meeting. It seems they’ve decided to stay away from the crowds, just like you.”
That came as a surprise to Loki. Why would you hide? You had no reason to avoid the public eye, after all.
Thor only smiled wearily when he asked him that same question.
“Y/n is a heavy topic of the rumor mill themself, dear brother. That comes with being involved with any member of the royal family. But you are a prince. So of course, your relationship with them would be of a higher order than, I don’t know… some recruit?”
Loki tried to ignore his brother’s sly glances while he considered his words.
Thor was right, all things considered. Of course Loki’s involvement with you would have pushed you into the public eye, making you a person of interest when it came to life at Asgard’s court.
How had he not thought about that before?
Thor only smiled sadly when Loki stayed silent.
“Y/n had to end any involvement with the new recruits because they faced a lot of backlash for it. Since your escape from the meeting, they’ve pretty much been hiding, in a similar fashion as you are right now.”
Loki nodded slowly. That was exactly what he’d never wanted to happen – you being unable to go outside because the rumor mill had gotten wind of your involvement with him.
But now it was too late.
“That… that recruit they were with at the meeting…” Loki asked, his words dragging on as if he had trouble getting them out.
He didn’t really want to know but Thor was now his source in all things Y/n. He just had to ask.
Thor nodded in what could’ve been understanding. He didn’t look at Loki as he answered. Maybe he was aware that it made the matter easier to talk about.
“Tyr was removed from his position once the rumors became too much.”
Loki didn’t know if the most prominent emotion swirling around in his chest was shock or some sort of anger. “He was denounced?”
Thor nodded.
“The backlash became too much after your exit and it was decided to put his strengths to use in another field. A shame, really. He’s a fine warrior.”
Loki only shook his head, appalled at the news.
“You have influence in these things,” he said, not quite believing he was really doing this. “The recruit holds no fault of his own in this issue, he shouldn’t suffer for something he had nothing to do with. Can you make sure he is allowed to return to the field if he chooses to do so?”
Thor looked at his brother, eyebrows almost up to his hairline. He seemed surprised, maybe shocked.
Even Loki was capable of doing good things. Yet people were continuously surprised by it, he thought grimly.
Slowly, a wide grin spread on Thor’s face. His eyes twinkled.
Loki was once again reminded why Thor was the one that everyone at court regarded so highly – people liked him. It really was that simple.
“See, brother, I knew you had good in you. Everyone else seems to doubt it, but I believed. And I was right.”
Loki only rolled his eyes and waved off the comment with a dismissive hand gesture. His chest still grew warm because of Thor’s words.
Tumblr media
Thor informed him soon after their conversation that Tyr had been reinstated – and that he knew nothing of Loki’s involvement in the matter.
Loki was glad. He thanked his brother, asking to be kept up to date on any issues regarding the recruit.
After that was handled, Loki slowly allowed himself to return to life at court. The rumors had died down by now, which made it easier to slip back into Asgard’s schedules without having to face any weird comments. Gossip usually died down quickly, after all.
You having seemingly vanished from existence was also very helpful. That meant Loki didn’t run into you in the halls, and he never stumbled upon you during meetings that involved the lower class.
But it also made him worry.
Where were you? Were you alright?
Loki would soon get his answers to all of those questions… maybe.
He’d been busy planning an attack on a neighboring realm because they’d taken some of Asgard’s grain and resources. Usually, this would be Thor’s expertise, but he had asked Loki to join the meetings to maybe spare some of his insight. So, there he was.
Loki was pondering the issue on his way back to his chambers. He was so lost in thought that he only saw you once he’d almost made it to his door.
You were standing in the hallway, leaning against a pillar, arms crossed in front of your chest. Fancy robes adorned your body, meaning you’d been at one of the meetings that were open for people of any social standing.
Loki’s heart leapt into his throat at the sight of you. He’d avoided you the past few weeks, more or less on purpose. You not showing your face around court had definitely helped.
A small smile appeared on your lips as you took a careful step towards him.
“Hello Loki.”
Simply hearing your voice was enough to make Loki’s heart skip a beat – or a couple of them. He could only stare at you, unsure how to deal with your presence and the fact that you were suddenly talking to him again.
“Hello Y/n,” he managed, hoping his voice wasn’t audibly trembling.
You smiled when he said your name, and simply seeing that smile again made Loki’s knees weak.
Norns, he still missed you so much…
“Thank you for helping to get Tyr back into his former position.” you told him, chuckling when Loki only looked at you with equal amounts of confusion and shock.
How did you know?
“It was obvious,” you answered the unspoken question. “Maybe not to everyone, but I know you. I know you wouldn’t let injustice like that stand and just do nothing.”
You were still smiling at him, but this time it was the genuine kind, a smile that actually reached your eyes.
What beautiful eyes they were. Loki could spend hours just staring at you, watching the many ways your face twitched, how so many different expressions wandered over your features.
It brought back old memories he’d worked so hard to bury.
“You’re welcome,” Loki answered before his treacherous tongue could betray him and he accidentally said one of those thoughts out loud.
You nodded, still smiling softly.
You didn’t make a move to leave or to say something else. Instead, you just stood there, with that smile on your face that would end up driving him mad.
Now that you were right there in front of him, Loki couldn’t fight the part of his brain that had been starved of you for far too long. He just stood there, drinking in every last detail about your appearance.
The patterns on your clothes. The small stitch where a seam had ripped and you’d been forced to fix it. The way your fingers were playing with your sleeve – a nervous habit he knew so well.
Your lips twitched as you looked at him.
Loki slowly realized he was staring. He looked at you expectantly, raising an eyebrow.
The unspoken What? hung in the air.
You shrugged, gesturing towards him.
“You’re just still so… you. I don’t know. Maybe I expected you to change somehow, but it’s nice to see that you haven’t. It – it’s good.”
Loki didn’t really know how to respond. He watched as you looked down at your hands, fiddling with a stray thread that he couldn’t see.
“It’s good that you haven’t changed, either.”
At first, Loki didn’t notice he’d said those words. At least until you looked at him and the corners of your lips twitched upwards into a smirk.
You bowed, shooting him a wink. “You’re welcome, my prince.”
A shiver ran down Loki’s spine. He’d never expected to hear that nickname from you again. Yet here he was, talking to you as if no time had passed at all since your last conversation.
As if all the pain had never happened.
You were still smiling at him, and simply seeing that smile made Loki’s heart stumble in his chest. He could barely breathe.
That smile reminded him of happier times, of days where he’d been able to forget his rank, where nothing had mattered except holding you in his arms.
Loki wanted those times back. He needed them back.
You cleared your throat, scratching the back of your head with a shy expression on your face. Your smile had turned slightly awkward and lopsided.
“Well… I should probably–” You waved your hand through the air in a vague gesture.
Loki nodded as soon as the words reached him, hurrying to reassure you – even though he wanted nothing more than for you to stay.
“Of course! I don’t want to keep you from whatever it is that you have to do.”
You chuckled lightly, shaking your head at his hurried words. You turned away and started walking before abruptly stopping in your tracks.
Your eyes were soft when you looked back at Loki.
“Please never change.”
With those words, you left him standing in the hallway.
Loki stared after you until you disappeared around a corner. Even then, he remained frozen to the spot in the middle of the hallway, still under your spell.

Chapter 25
Summary : The truth about the curse comes out. Is maira a victim and loki has been lying all along?"
Note : I hope this chapter won't disappoint you or anything, even if it does that's how I envisioned it in my head, sometimes a mystery is alot simpler then we imagine them to be. There's one more chapter after this, the sequel will depend on your reaction
Tumblr media
You screamed, you screamed as loud as you could then you started to struggle, trying to get out of the binds and run. Run as far away as possible, you didn't think you'd be able to take anything more, your eyes fell upon the stranger who was trying to hold you and comfort you. The room just had the light coming from the fireplace.
"Y/n darling, stop panicking, sweetheart please Look at me..look at me" he raised his voice as he shook your shoulders and you got quiet, too quiet. You felt as if your heart would seize to beat any moment. He sounded like Loki..where is loki ..why did he leave you here? You had a dreadful feeling in the pit of your stomach, did he leave you here to die?
"Where..is my husband..where is loki.. where is my husband..please please take me to loki" you sobbed as you spoke, your broken voice killed him, he had hurt you so deeply, he wanted to hate himself for that.
"I'm here darling, I'm here ..just look at me ..look at me…look into my eyes please you'll recognise me.. please" he whispered softly and that's when you finally noticed his green eyes, that's when you recognised him. You have spent the last few months staring into those green irises. He was Loki, this man was your husband. Then you started panicking again so he untied your hands quickly and pulled you into his chest. Your ear pressed against his heart and you listened to his heartbeat that always calmed you down. Always.
Your screams quietened and your sobs reduced slowly, he continued to caress your back so you won't freak out anymore. When you pulled away from him, you tried to run for the door but he grabbed your arms and held you in place, you couldn't stop looking at his face. He looked so different.
"How did you.. how are you" you placed your hands on his cheeks. He looked handsome, so handsome, like a Prince. You always wondered what he looked like before the accident, but now you weren't even sure if you were dreaming, hallucinating or just going insane.
"It was a curse, I was cursed, I didn't get burned darling. I was cursed by her..by Maira" Suddenly you felt the ghostly presence in your left side, your body started to shake again so he pulled you off the chair and held you tightly against him
"Stop scaring her you bitch" he yelled at her as you cowered into him
"Please calm down darling.. I love you.. I love you please" he kept mumbling to calm you down but it didn't bring you any comfort. You looked at Maira, she's the woman who has been warning you for the last few months.
"I have seen you before" you mumbled and she started laughing
"I warned you little girl, but you ignored my warning and followed this trickster all the way here. Why didn't you listen to me?" She started crying so you looked at Loki. It still felt weird seeing him like that.
"What is she talking about, what is happening, what curse, explain to me right now loki or I swear to god" you pulled yourself away from him as you questioned him. Then you heard the wailing of the women chained in the corner of the bedroom.
"Don't you see it? You fool.. you'll end up here along with us, unless you do what he says" one of the women screamed at you, they all looked ghastly and anorexic You flinched at the sight of them and took few steps back then you bumped into Loki again "Did he feed you lies about us? About how we tried to kill him ?" Victoria Naina and Patricia spoke in unison.
"About how we bullied him?" Lucille said
"Do what..what do I have to do? Did you lie to me about them, Loki? Tell me what is happening, what are you doing baby?" You asked him and he looked down, his eyes were teary and he looked ashamed. He didn't say anything but Maira did
"We grew up together, I was always in love with him. He knew of my affections for him but never reciprocated but as we got older and he got more and more handsome, every girl wanted him, everywhere we went they wanted him. I finally built the courage to confess my feelings, and he told me he felt the same. We were so happy together..so so happy..but then ..then he lied and cheated behind my back, I caught him in the act" she weeped as she finished her sentence and you looked at him shocked. You didn't even know what to believe anymore
"He didn't know the powers I held, my mother was a witch, so was my grandmother, I never thought I'd ever have to use it on the love of my life but he forced me. I wanted to forgive him and take him, that's how desperate I was for him, I suppose you must understand my desperation, isn't that right?" She giggled and you truly understood the feeling of wanting to do anything for him, he was enchanting like that.
" But he never stopped, he continued to hurt me. So proud of his looks and the attention he got, I have had enough, I wanted to teach him a lesson, so I cursed him.. " you gasped as you couldn't believe what was happening. It felt as if you were in the worst nightmare of your life.
"I cursed him, took the thing he possessed so dearly. Only the touch of true love could ever bring his old face back..true love that sees no rhyme or reason, that would accept an evil man like him with no qualms, love that would sacrifice the thing most dearest to her " It made sense, everything made sense. He always said that he wanted your heart, your love. But is what maira saying about him is true? Was he really just a cheating asshole who played her? You thought about Laura and the doubt filled your head
"He's not who he says he is, I warned you but you didn't listen" you looked at him, he was still not looking at you, he was looking down and you saw the tears falling from his eyes. The women behind you kept warning you to run and leave. Told you to save your life, leave him to suffer all his life because he deserved it after what he did to maira and all of them.
"How did you die?" You asked her and she started crying
"I couldn't take the betrayal, the heartbreak, the hurt, so I killed myself and I have been haunting him since, punishing him every second of his life. Being around him to remind him what he has done, I'll haunt him until the end of his pathetic life" You looked at Loki, he wasn't just trying to get rid of the curse, he was trying to get rid of her
"And if the curse is lifted?"
"Then I'll be gone forever but he doesn't deserve it.. does he? Look what he did to me..what he did to poor Patricia, Victoria, Naina and Lucille" her voice softened as she spoke. You looked at him and walked over to him
"Loki, is she telling the truth?" Everyone gasped as you asked him that, did you not believe them? Maira couldn't have that, she couldn't let him get free. He didn't answer, he was so quiet, as if he had to be quiet not because he was lying but because he had to.
"What do I have to do to lift the curse?"
Maira ran over to you suddenly and leaped on your shoulders, spooking you out of your mind.
"You pathetic women, this is your chance to run, I'll help you, I couldn't help these women but I could help you my dear" you clenched your jaw and built the courage to look at her
"What do I have to give up? My life? My beauty? My soul? What?" You asked her strictly and she looked at your neck, the locket that your mom gave you. The thing most dearest to you. And it clicked.
"You want this, that's all it would take to lift the curse? That's all to free a man from this horrendous curse?" You asked her and she was surprised at your callousness. She has seen how you have protected this locket since your mom died. You took it out of your neck and gave it to loki
"No no no..don't do this..you don't know what you're doing..he's not the man he says he is" she screamed and his wives started screaming too. What if they are right..what if you're making a mistake? You love him, you truly do but what if he has lied to you about everything, what if he lied to you about his wives as well. You closed your eyes and thought about your first meeting, your mom always told you to not judge people by their appearance, you saw the sincerity in his eyes from the beginning. Then you remembered something..
"Don't believe, believe your heart, everything else is a lie, believe your heart my child. They're playing you, they always played you, believe in love"
And you knew what you had to do. They are playing you, not him. Believe in love- You love him. Those dreams of Maira were not warnings but deception. You looked at the locket, and started crying, your mom had this locket for years and she gave it to you and told you that it would protect you. It was protecting you, maybe that's how you could save your life and his too.
"Destroy it" you gave it to loki and for a second he couldn't believe what was happening, you chose to save him, you believed in him even after everything he has put you through. He instantly threw the locket inside the fireplace and you heard Maira screaming, you turned to look at her combusting in literal flames. Her ghostly figure was disparaged in dust and ashes, the same thing happened with his other wives. Were they dead all along? You didn't know and you had no energy to take in more information.
You looked at him and he walked over to you to hug you. You saved him, even after Maira tried to trick you, you believed in his truth. You passed the final test. You put your faith in him. You freed him of the curse.
"Darling.." you took a step back as he approached you, his heart breaking as he realized that you might have chosen to free him but you would never look at him the same. You walked past him and got out of the room, it made you sick. The things you just saw, you didn't think you'll ever get over this, the ghosts may not haunt you again but the memory will. Everything was tainted now. You ran for your room and he followed you as quickly as he could.
He found you crying on the bedroom floor so he walked over to you and sat down on the floor then he pulled you in his arms to console you
"I'm sorry I'm sorry I'm sorry my sweetheart" he mumbled in your ears but you were inconsolable.
"You promised me forever..you said we will live a happy loving life..you lied to me..it's the loss of that happy forever that hurts the most you know" you sobbed in his arms, you couldn't even speak without bursting into a fit of cry..
"I did and I am sorry, I just wanted to be free of her, she has ruined my life.."
"And you ruined mine loki..you ruined mine" you pulled away from him, looking at him still felt like looking at someone new, you couldn't connect his face to his personality. It was only when you heard him and looked into his eyes is when you realized that he was the man you fell in love with and married
"We can fix this, I'll fix this darling, just please give me a chance"
"What happened with maira, what actually happened?" He sighed as you changed the subject,
"We were childhood friends, I knew of her affections but I never reciprocated. As a young rich handsome son of a wealthy lord, I did have a lot of female attention. On my 20th birthday party that happened here in the manor , Maira was hiding in my room to surprise me with a present. I had a girl by my side that I really liked and I took her to my room to spend some alone time with her, she saw us and went crazy. Absolutely manic, I didn't know that her family was into black magic and witchcraft. I never believed in those things. When she cursed me I actually mocked her but then I looked at myself in the mirror, I still get nightmares about that, I'll never forget that day"
That must have been horrifying, you looked at his face and studied his features. He had a perfect angelic face, sharp jawline and cheekbones, you could see why women must have been obsessed with him. But it never mattered to you. You never cared about his face.
"Only the touch of true love could have fixed me, love that's free from any judgment, love that has patience, selflessness, acceptance, faith and sacrifice. You didn't judge me, never did, you showed patience when you waited for me and took me back, you offered to give me everything you owned when you saw me in financial trouble, you accepted me and loved me the same with my scarred face, you put your faith in me even when she lied to you about me. You chose me and lost the thing most dearest to you to free me"
You sobbed again as you heard him, you loved him with all your heart, you'd have died for him that's how much you loved him.
"What if the sacrifice was bigger, what if it was my life that would have freed you? Would you have let me die?"
"Noo no no no darling no ..I would never choose to hurt you like that sweetheart, I never would have traded your life, I know I'm a bad person but I'm not evil and I love you ,I always did, I'll always do" he grabbed your hands and brought them up to his lips to kiss them
"Maybe I would have lived with the curse all my life, I would have given up if I could, but it was her ghost, her constant watch, her taunts that killed me every second. My mother, when she saw me for the first time after I got cursed, died of a heart attack. When I met my first wife I thought I'd be loved and free. I had hope, but she didn't love me, and none of them did. They were disgusted by my face, and wouldn't even look at me when we.."
He looked at you and you looked away. He didn't deserve anything that has happened to him, none of it.
"There was nothing wrong with your face Loki, sure you didn't look like everyone else, but it didn't change who you were as a person and I know you did all this to get rid of Maira. I understand that and I can't tell you that I would have never done this if I was you because to be honest I don't know how I would have reacted if this had happened to me. I am not in your shoes and I'm not going to judge you for it __" he leaned forward to hug you but you stopped him
"But I loved that man who came to my shop and swept me off my feet, who promised to never hurt me, to never lie to me again, who promised me that he'd always protect me, the man that I made love to on our first night was the man I married, he was the man who took me across the country and promised me forever. And I followed him, I followed him and left everything behind because I loved him so much, so much that I would have done anything for him. A happy forever. You're not that man, you took everything from me, my love, my trust, you fed me lies and I believed you again and again, because I'm a gullible fool right? That's what you must have thought of me right?"
He shook his head and placed his head down on your lap, his arms went around your waist as he clutched onto you tightly. He didn't want to lose you, he never did but he knew he'd see this day.
"Please darling, don't leave me, I know I need to repent and suffer for what I have done with you, but give me a chance, just one chance is all I need" you chuckled as he said that. Your heart was breaking more and more every second and you wanted to stay by his side forever but you can't.
"And how would I ever trust anything you say to me loki? How would I ever listen to you and not think that you may or may not be lying to me? You're so good at fooling me loki, you fooled me all this time and my stupid heart believed in you, it never questioned your intentions, it never made me doubt you. My heart is such a fool for you so tell me how would I ever look at you again and not think about the fact that you might be playing me again" He looked at you, his eyes widened in shock and realisation. He has broken your trust, you put your everything behind for him and followed him, no questions asked and he hurt you so deeply.
He knew he was going to lose you once the whole truth would come out, he knew he'd break you with his reality and he did. He had crushed your heart and you were not willing to give him one more chance.
"I am leaving, I'm going back to New York " He sobbed as he heard you, you got up and started packing your bags, you would go into the city and live there until you get a flight back home. You can't stay here for one more minute. He watched you packing your stuff mindlessly, too numb to say anything. As you were putting your coat on he looked at you
"What was I supposed to do y/n? How would you do this if you were me?" He asked you so you looked at him
"I would have told you about the curse before the marriage, I would have allowed you to decide whether you wanted to take this path with me or not, that's what I would have done"
"Would you have come here with me..if I told you the truth? No you'd have run" he got up as he raised his voice a little so you walked closer to him. You cupped his cheeks and kissed him passionately, it felt nice to be able to hold him like this again, knowing that you would never get to have him like this made you want to stay and fix this, you loved him way too much to not do it but how do you fix a relationship that was built purely on lies
"Goes to show that you don't know me Loki, you don't know me at all.. goodbye ..for all its worth I do love you" you turned around to leave and didn't come back.
He got free of the curse but at what cost, got free from a burden but his life felt meaningless without you by his side.
He was alone, truly alone after a long time. And he hated it..

[Falling down from a tree]: Greeting, friend! I had another idea for Revna. Imagine that when Atreus discovers that Tyr was actually Odin this entire time using and manipulating them, he immediately thinks of Björn and Revna and since couldn’t get Björn he decides to go to Asgard to get Revna and take her to a safe place.
In Asgard, Revna was helping Thrud with a task Thor requested, then suddenly Atreus appears and tried to convince Revna that Asgard isn’t a safe place for her and that he can help her. But she denies, then Atreus puts her over his shoulder and run away with her, of course with Thrud going after them, and Atreus opens a portal to go somewhere else, leaving Thrud behind.
In this new place, Atreus tries to explain that he only want to protect her just like he wants for his brother. Obviously Revna gets angry and attacks him, but before she couldn run, he angrily grabs her and he ties her hands around a tree.
Then basically after that he makes a bonfire and starts to talk to with her about Björn while Revna tries to free herself from the ropes xD
(Sitting on a boulder) Are you alright? That was quite the fall. Let's see what treat we have this time. (Reads the ask and smiles) Atreus. Atreus. Atreus. You will never learn. Let the words weave together.
It is said - keep your friends close and your enemies closer; Atreus thought he was doing that in regards to the All-Father - Odin - but it would seem that the old man was one step ahead of him and his group of resistance. Atreus looked at the fire with unbelieving eyes - Odin was disguised as Tyr and killed Brok; he was manipulating and using them this whole time and none of them were able to see it but now, Atreus saw everything. Odin wasn't to be trusted - not after what he did - and then a familiar person came to his mind.
Revna, the girl in Asgard that reminded him of Björn for some reason that he still wasn't able to depict. Her long dark brown hair and golden eyes looked so much like Björn that he began seeing her as a potential sister and as her brother, Atreus needed to save her from Odin before she ended up hurt or worse, killed.
H needed to save her now, but first, he needed to find her; hopefully, she wasn't in Asgard.
[Helheim]
"Remind me again, why did Father want us to come to Helheim? Garm isn't here anymore, something Loki and his father did to him." Thrud as she looked around the ruined landscape.
"There some kind of lore here that the All-Father wants and he wanted us to get it. If I knew what kind of lore he was after, I could have told him but he wanted it from the original source."Revna said as she looked through one of the chests that was cluttered with stuff - weapons, armor pieces, and other things, what kind of lore would the All-Father want in a place like this?
"Well, do you know what kind of book or scroll the All-Father is after?" Thrud asked.
"Something about the history of the Jotunn, anything that could help him understand the mask and that rift in his office. Hey, I found something!" Revna pulled out a book and read the title out, "The History of Jotunn Artifacts. This could be what the All-Father could be looking for." Revna smiled as she looked at Thrud, who chuckled and gave Revna a thumbs up when suddenly a gateway opened; making the girls on edge. Thrud reached for her swords and stared at the gateway when a familiar face walked out of the gateway.
"Loki? What are you doing here?" Revna asked as her eyes narrowed at the Jotunn but Loki just walked up to Revna and grabbed her wrist.
"Come with me, Revna, you're not safe in Asgard. The All-Father is a manipulating bastard who kills innocent people. I can take you somewhere safe." Loki said as he pulled on Revna's wrist to get him to come with him but she just snatched her arm away from him.
"I'm not going anywhere with you, Loki. I'm perfectly fine with Thrud and her family. I don't know what happened with you and the All-Father but that has nothing to do with us. Now, leave before we take you down and take your mask back to the All-Father." Revna said in a warning tone of voice.
Loki looked at Revna then looked at Thrud - who was ready to strike at him with her swords - but quicker than lightning, Loki grabbed Revna by her arm and yanked her forward before dipping; placing her over his shoulder before booking it in the direction of the gateway. Thrud chased after him but he was in the gateway door and it closed before disappearing before Thrud could get inside.
"Revna!" Thrud cried as she looked around for anywhere they could have teleported. Revna was gone and Loki had her; this was not good. Did he find out that Revna was actually Björn in a female body? That's not possible...right?
[Meanwhile - In Midgard]
"Get your hands off me, Jotunn!" Revna yelled as she struggled in Loki's grip as he walked into the cabin with her still over his shoulder, once he managed to close the door, he placed her down and stepped away from her.
"Calm down, Revna, I'm not going to hurt you. Odin is evil and I just want to protect you...just like I want to protect my brother. Do you know him? His name is Björn the Great Bear." Loki asked her but she just glared at her.
"No! I'm not family with your brother and I don't want to know him! I just wanted you to leave me the hell alone!" Revna said as she punched Loki in his nose, making him fall to the ground on his backside before she turned and began to walk in the direction of the door but she was suddenly knocked on the ground, and her hands were placed behind her back as rope found themselves around her wrists and tied rather tightly. She struggled against her binds as she was picked up and placed on a bed across from another bed where Loki exhaled as he took a seat.
"I'm sorry about that, Revna, but I can't let you return to Asgard; Odin is up to no good and you need to be protected, just like Björn. You know, you remind me a lot of my brother, he was stubborn just like you, he never understood that he was meant to be protected and loved instead of becoming a warrior but he decided to defy his father and train under some bad people, like Freya's son - Baldur - and Thor's Sons - Magni and Modi." Loki went on and on about his brother while Revna used her hidden blade to slowly cut the ropes.
"So, you are obsessed with your brother because he wanted to be a warrior but you and your father didn't want him to be one so you tried to keep him weak? Yeah, model Father and brother right there." Revna said as she rolled her eyes.
"You just don't understand, just like Björn didn't understand, you both are meant to be protected not fighting battles or getting yourselves in dangerous situations. I'm going to find him and bring him home, then I am going to protect both of you because no one messes with a Jotunn's Sibling." Loki said with locked teeth and narrowed eyes; almost like a snarl.
"What does that have to do with me? I'm not your sister." Revna protested.
"You will be." Loki smirked at the girl before him. Revna now had another reason to stay away from Loki when she was back to normal as the bear.

Despair
Tumblr media
Loki x reader
Summary: Everything you have ever known changed for the worse over the time and you couldn't stop it. Even if you wanted to, you simply couldn't muster the strength to help yourself anymore. Just as you were starting to fall into a dark abyss, a rescuing hand reached for yours.
Warnings: mentions of self destructive behavior/scars, depression, angst/comfort
Words: 1k
Despair. That was pretty much everything I felt at the moment. And one thing was for sure, it would be really hard to survive if it won't change anytime soon. Everyday I hoped for this change but it never seemed to come and I really had no idea how to keep going like this.
At some point I simply accepted the pain, knowing I could do nothing against it anyways. So I continued living like before and tried to hide my emotions as best as I could.
To be honest this pain, a constant companion of mine, started to comfort me in a weird way. I had felt it for such a long time now, it was hard to imagine life being different.
I was currently lying in bed, staring at the ceiling while listening to some music. Silent tears were running down my cheeks, leaving a few stains on my shirt. What happened? What happend that caused me to end up in such a terrible state? I had no idea but whatever it was, I didn't really care anymore.
Though it hadn't been always like this because at first I did, I truly did. It bothered me to know I was slowly losing myself without being able to stop it, simply being too exhausted. I felt all kind of emotions at once, overwhelming me with every minute that passed. Until the moment I decided to do something.
Believe me when I say I want nothing more than to tell you I did it. I managed to help myself and got out of this but I can't. Actually I made it all worse and as proof I had my scars.
I wasn't proud of it but it was too late because over the time I slowly got addicted and now...now it was hard to get back to my old self. And to be honest I had no idea if I really wanted that anymore.
As I looked down, the sight of the constant reminder what I did to myself, caught my eye. I was glad I was alone. I wouldn't want anyone to see them. I wouldn't want to explain myself to someone or tell them why I did it and I simply wouldn't want someone trying to comfort me. I could do this alone..at least that's what I told myself.
Lost in thoughts I didn't notice any of the new messages popping up on my phone and with them also some missed calls. Maybe the music I was listening to was also a reason why I didn't notice. Whenever I felt bad I could always rely on music. It comforted me and was always here when I needed it.
I had no idea how much time had passed until I heard a few knocks on my door. I didn't move. Appearantly the person on the other side of the door didn't intend to stop and just kept on knocking. "Y/n?" I heard someone say my name but kept on ignoring the person, too overstrained with everything going on at the moment.
"Y/n, please open the door!" I heard the voice again but still didn't move. Then it was quiet. Nothing was audible for a few seconds until I heard the door slowly open. It didn't take long until the person was by my side, kneeling on the ground beside me. "Oh god, Y/n!" I heard the voice again and instantly knew who it belonged to. Loki.
I felt a hand on mine now. It touched mine softly, telling me with this gesture it would be gone whenever I wanted it, while still being here comforting me. I appreciated that a lot, especially right now.
Noticing I didn't do anything about it, another hand placed itself on me pulling me slowly closer. "I'm here, y/n. You're not alone." Even though I couldn't really show it right now, these words meant a lot to me and Loki acknowledged that.
He tenderly lifted my chin making me look up. Seeing these beautiful eyes made me feel a bit better, he always made me feel better. "Do you want to tell me what's wrong?" Loki's voice reached my ear and I simply shook my head. Nodding slowly he showed me it was okay and gave me a small smile.
Though it disappeared quickly after seeing what I tried to hide for so long.. "Y/n..." I heard him whisper quietly, obviously feeling bad because of letting me go through all of this alone.
"It's okay" I whispered, giving Loki a reassuring smile. "It's okay.." I said again but this time more to calm myself than him. Just staring down I felt my cheeks getting wet again from a few tears that fell down. What had I done? This question would probably never leave my mind...
Completely focused on what was in front of my eyes I didn't see Loki moving at first. But when I felt two arms pulling me close into a hug, I looked up again. His eyes were also a bit teary but no tears escaped them, wanting to be here for me without trying to worry me even more.
"I'm here for you, y/n and I won't leave your side if that's what you want me to do. I'll stay with you." He looked me in the eyes, never daring to break our eye contact. "I'll stay with you, I promise." A small smile spread on Loki's face, making me feel safe for the moment and placed his chin on my head.
Although the situation had been quite unbearable I was happy I wasn't alone. I had no idea why he was still here with me but one thing was for sure. Loki kept his promise and stayed with me.

It took months for him to tell me his name (6, I think?), and when he did I was so gobsmacked I just sat there. Tried to absorb the knowledge, tried hard to make sure I wasn’t talking to myself. Or someone else was fucking with me. I only had his word to go on, and I could only weigh that against my outspoken vow to never, ever have anything to do with him.
(Which … yeah I know that was just waving a big chunk of bloody meat at him. Bummer I didn’t figure that out before I just as loudly said the same thing about Odin. Fool me once it’s no surprise. Fool me twice … it really isn’t either. I’m not often the brightest bulb in the string.)
Anyway. Point being I just sat there with my metaphorical jaw hanging open and my wheels spinning fruitlessly until he said talk to [ ].
So I talked to them. Left a message, explained the situation, and, idk, did I ask for advice? I mean, yeah I’m sure I did, I just don’t remember how I asked. But whatever it was, their (paraphrased) reply was “Loki can give you back your life when someone/something tries to take it away.”
And that’s all it took. Those words changed everything for me because how the fuck could I resist such an idea? It was beyond temptation – at that point there was simply no other choice I could make.
~*~
Back in September I said I was going to be writing again, about him and for him. I was so wrong. What was a shining moment of hope, of light, that we could get back to where it started turned out to be just another oncoming train. The last four months haven’t been the worst of the last few years, but they were bad enough. Worse in all news ways, maybe that’s what it comes down to. Or maybe just worse because for a few bright, shining days I thought the darkness was past.
And here I am, back on the tracks once more. The light is so bright, I know it’s a train this time, but will it run me over, or stop and pick me up to take me to him?
~*~
Here’s another thing I’ve learned: hope hurts worse than despair.
I wonder what his take is on that. I wish I could ask him – which, I could, of course, there’s nothing stopping me … except knowing I won’t be able to hear his answer. Not now anyway. Maybe one day again. It’s hard to imagine it. Equally hard to imagine that September 22 will forever be the last time.
Sometimes I can feel him, off to the side somewhere, sitting on a fence, or a wall, stack of boxes, whatever is close enough for him to perch on. Waiting patiently for me to catch up. Watching me, chin in hand and eyes burning steady.
I don’t need to hear him to know he understands. He’s well acquainted with relentless physical pain, with deep mental and emotional trauma. Being bound by (and bound to) something in ways you can’t easily break free of.
Someone is whispering in my head right now. This time I’m pretty sure it’s just me - but I'm also pretty sure this would be his answer:
It doesn’t matter how much it hurts. You choose it anyway.
Because at the end of the day, any other choice is unthinkable.
But also because it’s the only one that will lead back to him.

Chapter 14: Magic Lessons
Tumblr media
Chapter List
Word Count: 1,944
Summery: Loki teaches Raven a spell under her mother's watchful eye, all while his heart aches for this little girl that he doesn't dare to call his chid. Goddamn does he want to, though.
Warnings: Minor sexual implications towards the end. Nothing too explicit.
Selene had once joked that being a single mom meant allocating most of her money to taking care of her kid and her house, and anything on the side went to the garden in the back.
Loki wasn’t entirely sure she was kidding.
Technically, there were two small gardens in different planter boxes. One was for herbs like peppermint, tarragon, tyme, rosemary, and sage. The other held a flourishing vegetable patch, complete with green beans, carrots, and ginger, which Loki wasn’t entirely sure was a vegetable, but there was enough space for it to grow.
There was also the little plastic swing set that Loki had helped Selene erect. Raven had been so ecstatic about it, thoroughly dispelling Loki’s assumption that she wouldn’t be impressed with it for long. It was a month later, and she still spent several minutes every day swinging.
Today though, she wasn’t playing. It was lesson time. Loki had seated her on a spread blanket as he placed several of her toys on top of the grass.
“What are you doing?” Raven asked, brow furrowing as Loki set a soft dolphin push on the ground a few feet away from her blanket.
“I’m going to teach you how to summon things.” Loki replied, gently placing a small stuffed leopard on the swing. He backed a few feet away, then opened his palm to the toy. With a green shimmer, the leopard flew from the swing to his waiting hand.
“Woah.” Raven marveled, eyes sparkling as she watched Loki return the leopard to the swing.
“Now, you have to promise me something.” Loki said, turning to face Raven. “If I teach you this spell, you must promise me that you will not summon anything heavy or fragile. Your mother will never forgive me if I teach you something that will hurt you- and frankly I won’t either.”
The girl nodded enthusiastically. “I promise.”
“Good.” Loki smiled at her as he propped a stuffed minion to lean against one of the planter boxes.
“Why are we outside?” She asked as Loki came to sit across from her on the blanket.
“Because Mum wouldn’t let me teach you how to magically throw things around in the house.” Loki chuckled, using Selene’s exact words.
Raven nodded, her gaze traveling to the side. She giggled, pointing to the house. He looked where she indicated to see Selene standing at the window, lips pursed as she looked out. Her eyebrows shot up once she saw she’d been spotted, and she wiggled her fingers in an awkward wave.
Loki’s smile was tender and affectionate as he waved back. He laughed as Selene ducked out of view, as if to try to hide her anxious hovering.
He spent the next couple of minutes trying to explain the theory as best he could before he let her try any practical application. He sifted through his memories of his mother teaching him the spell, his words coming more confidently as he heard them in her voice.
“I want you to think of a string that connects the center of your palm to the object you are summoning.” Loki said, gently taking Raven’s small wrist, and opening her hand. He put a finger to the center of her palm to illustrate his point. “When you call it to you, picture it traveling along the string. The visualization will help you to keep the object in the air and not drop it.”
The girl nodded, her face drawn in focus as she listened. She extended her arm, palm facing out to the dolphin in the grass.
“Got your string?”
“Yeah.”
“Good. When you summon the object, imagine you feel the tug of the string as you pull it towards you. It’s no different than tying a line to something and physically pulling it by hand to you.”
She nodded again.
“Are you ready to try?”
“Mmhmm!” Raven confirmed.
“Alright then. Remember, it may take a few tries to get it right the first time.” Loki reminded her, scooting back so he could watch her form better. “Whenever you’re ready, pet.”
Raven’s brow furrowed in concentration as she stared at the toy, hand still held out. For a long moment, nothing happened. Loki was afraid to try to give advice, lest he break her focus. However, he recognized the tell-tale signs of frustration in the tightening of her jaw and the tension in the wide splay of her fingers.
“Relax your hand.” He whispered, holding his palm up to show her.
Raven quickly corrected her form, but didn’t unclench her jaw. Another few tense seconds passed. Loki saw movement out of the corner of his eye. A quick glance to the house confirmed that Selene was back at the window, spinning one of her rings around her finger with an unreadable expression on her face.
Just as Loki was about to open his mouth, Raven gasped. He looked just in time to see a faint flicker of pink curling around the stuffed dolphin as it scooted forward a few inches, before the color fizzled out.
“I did it! Kinda.” Raven exclaimed, looking to Loki as though she needed to confirm what just happened.
“You did! That was wonderful!” He praised, grinning from ear to ear.
“But it didn’t go all the way.” She said, momentary elation fading into disappointment.
“No, but you made progress.” Loki soothed, gesturing to the plush. “You moved it, that’s an impressive feat.”
The girl still looked unconvinced, so he got up to try to make his point. Loki walked over to where the dolphin had been moved, trying to estimate how far it had gotten. He wished he’d had the foresight to mark in the dirt where the toy had first been placed; all he had to go off of was his memory.
“I would say you made it about six or seven inches.” He estimated, squatting near the toy. “That’s very good; it’s about as far as I got on my first go.”
“Really?” Raven tilted her head, as though she couldn’t fathom the thought that Loki had ever been less than proficient with magic.
“Yes, little one.” Loki chuckled, coming back to sit on the blanket. “And what’s more, I started learning magic when I was a few years older than you are now. From my perspective, you just did something incredibly impressive for your age.”
Her eyes widened slightly, and she nodded slowly. “Okay. So, that was good?”
“That was very good.” Loki nodded. “Would you like to continue?”
“Yes.” She nodded again, more firmly this time.
“Deep breath, try to clear your head.” Loki reminded. “See the string, feel the pull, you know what to do.”
Raven giggled, closing her eyes to center herself, just like Loki had taught her so long ago when she was still struggling to control her medium-like abilities. He glanced over his shoulder to Selene’s window, unsurprised to find her still standing there. This time however, she was smiling at Loki like he’d just done something truly spectacular.
And he felt like he really did.
. . .
“This is gonna bite me in the ass, isn’t it?”
Loki laughed, shaking his head. “Do you not trust your own daughter?”
“Have you met her?” Selene joked, unwinding the garden hose as she watched Raven enter the house, arms full of toys. “I trust her not to try that with anything heavy, but I just know I’m gonna get a stuffed animal to the face any day now.”
Loki smiled, walking with her as she dragged the hose to her planter boxes. “Perhaps. She can be a bit of a scamp at times, can’t she?”
“Mmhmm.” Selene heaved an overly dramatic sigh as she watered her vegetable garden. “Love that little terror.”
As do I. But he didn’t say the words. He knew Selene well enough by now that he highly doubted she’d raise an issue with it, but he still didn’t quite feel ready to verbalize it. Raven was Selene’s girl, not Loki’s. He had to keep reminding himself of that. Perhaps she liked him, but he wasn’t her father.
…But he sure did act like it at times.
Loki lapsed into silence as Selene attended to her plants. Him, a father? The thought was absurd. He was anything but father material- he had tried to take over the planet once, for Norns sake! That was hardly the behavior of a role model.
But oh how that little girl made him want to pick up a parenting guide. How she and her mother again and again made Loki want to be worthy of them and the home they’d so graciously welcomed him into.
“Everything okay, Lokes?” Selene asked as she coiled her hose back at the spout.
“Ah, yes.” He nodded, trotting after her. “Apologies, I was lost in thought.”
“You’re good.” She said, taking his hand. “Are you staying for dinner?”
“Am I invited?”
“When are you not?”
“Fair point, my lady.” Loki inclined his head, smiling. “I will stay. Would you like help preparing it?”
“If you’re offering.” Selene replied, taking his hand and intertwining their fingers together. “You know I love you, right?”
“Of course I do.” Loki blinked. “What brought this on?”
“I dunno.” She shrugged, kissing his knuckles. “You just looked like you needed reminding.”
He smiled softly. “I suppose I sometimes do.”
Selene brought both of his hands to her mouth, kissing them reverently. She laid her lips across his palms and digits again and again. She looked up at him through her lashes, her perfect red lips gently closed around the bend of his pointer finger. Loki swore his heart stopped. He also swore his pants tightened.
“Darling.” He tried, voice strained. “Do you have any idea what you’re doing to me?”
“Loving you.” She purred, dragging her mouth up the back of his hand to his wrist. “Is it working? Do you feel loved?”
“Among other things.” Loki admitted.
“Oh.” Her eyes gleamed, as though she knew exactly what she was doing.
“Selene, your daughter is not only home but awake.” He pleaded with her.
“You’re the one getting worked up.” She shrugged, trailing a finger sensually up his arm. “I’m not doing anything.”
Little minx. Loki’s eyes flashed. He seized her by the waist, pulling her in until her chest was pressed against his. “You’re treading in dangerous waters, dove.”
“Who, me?” Selene widened her eyes innocently, though she couldn’t hide the sparkle of mischief in them.
“Yes, you.” He leaned in, his lips tracing the shell of her ear. “Do you truly wish to play this game? You may not like where it gets you.”
“When have I ever not liked where it got me?” She drawled, curling her fingers in the collar of his button up. “There’s a Midgardian phrase I wonder if you’ve heard: don’t threaten me with a good time.”
If he hadn’t already been, the brush of Selene’s fingers against his clavicle as she grabbed his shirt, the way her voice pitched down and the way her eyes smoldered would have physically aroused Loki. “Well then.” He murmured huskily. “Perhaps we should resolve things later tonight when the little one is in bed.”
“If you can last that long.” Selene taunted.
“I’ll survive.” Loki growled.
She pulled him down to kiss him, hard at first but then softening into something more tender. “I love you.”
“And I love you.”
Selene pat Loki’s chest affectionately, moving around him to go back into the house. She gave him a light smack to his backside as she passed him.
Oh, he was going to make her regret that.

👀 prime defenders bifrost incident au?
okay pre-facing this with none of the personalities match up and it's very much moreso about the character arcs/themes! this is going to be long but i'll start with the character assignments/my reasoning and then go into the details below the cut. warning for bifrost incident spoilers even in this character assignment bit
odin -> ashe: it's all about the corruption babyyy aka the trickster
thor -> vyncent: mostly to do with the whole thing with the lich - it's about anger and vengeance
sigyn -> william: revolutionary leader just screams william tbh. also that sort of righteous anger at The System etc etc
loki -> dakota: this is about the sacrificing yourself to give others a chance to live
anyway cut time! explaining the relationships and connections/plot
odin and loki -> ashe and dakota: dakota wouldn't have been… in this kind of project or kept alive because of his mind. going to say maybe ashe's/the trickster's experiments with the train meant he wanted to examine dakota's whole "procedure" deal (can humans survive a wormhole, etc). bc he's close to the experiments and more observant than people give him credit for, dakota starts piecing together that "oh that's Not ashe anymore" they get into a fight - maybe dakota "goes feral" and the trickster "kills" him in "self defence". i think he's kept alive because somewhere deep down ashe is there and he recognises dakota as his friend
thor and loki -> vyncent and dakota: this one was a lil difficult because i can't imagine dakota doing something that would turn vyncent against him? i'll say though that the trickster's lies/propaganda kept vyncent on "ashe's" side even as the evidence piles up against her. maybe the trickster kills someone close to them (so.. tide lol) and blames it on dakota so vyncent does too (mimicking the whole baldur plot)
thor and odin -> vyncent and ashe: as above ^^ vyncent thinks dakota tried to kill ashe without reason, that he Did kill tide, and that ashe killed him in self defence. the trickster would prob paint the picture that the procedure was failing and making dakota unstable. whole situation sucks but vyncent doesn't want to lose another friend so he doesn't look into it + with his canonically low will we can translate that as him being prone to manipulation shrug
loki and sigyn -> dakota and william: i'm gonna say near the end dakota confided in william about his concerns with ashe because he trusts william + thinks he's smart enough to figure out what's really going on. this is why william specifically is a revolutionary leader. also ghostkicks qpr for the win flex emoji :]! as in mechs canon -> dakota ends up forgetting everything and william is mourning his "death"
thor and sigyn -> vyncent and william: vyncent doesn't hold anything against william for choosing dakota's side and turning on ashe. and vice versa for william -> he's aware ashe's story is unfortunately believable especially since dakota probably warned them before about his "feral state" (think in canon: "if you see me acting a little differently… run"). they don't really talk anymore but will occasionally check in with each other. william is trying to get evidence to build a case against ashe but because it's "turning on a friend" vyncent isn't really prone to believing him. however! this is why when vyncent sees dakota is still alive he immediately turns against "ashe"/the trickster.
odin and sigyn -> ashe and william: i think william just treats it like.. he Knows something is wrong with ashe and that this isn't ashe anymore. he tries to be professional about it with the revolutionary leader thing lol but he really does hate whatever ashe is now (the trickster) for "killing" dakota and taking away ashe. ashe is somewhat aware of the whole revolution thing ((going to say the train is a government experiment shrug. ashe/the trickster isn't like a queen like odin but still it's indicative of a larger issue like in canon)) anyway yeah the trickster relocates everything. ashe is still in there and is trying to leave william alone (won't offer same mercies to the revolutionary group)
anyway yeah that's everything! the whole thing with dakota being loki is like.. well one he does have that "i've died and come back to life" swag but also as i said a bit earlier i feel like out of everyone he'd be the one to offer to slowly drain his life away in an attempt to delay the train reaching the mainland or whatever. so yeah had to mess around with the plot a little to make it work but i feel like it's similar enough that it works :]
