Adulting is HARD as HELL! When I say hard, I mean life as an adult will have you questioning your very existence and reason for breathing. Hey, YOU… calm down, this isn’t a suicide note or post but it’s been 3 years and it’s time for another story.

Adulting includes bills, job responsibilities, family responsibilities, gaining friends, loosing friends, family members passing (not that it doesn’t happen when you’re younger), relearning yourself; hell all of that for equals psychic discomfort or is it really?

Have you ever felt like no matter how much you attempt to evolve it’s never enough? Likkkkkkeee there’s always some missing piece ? Have you felt like you just can’t make friends…. Or if you do you learn the private love isn’t the same publicly? Have you ever felt like you couldn’t process through grief or for clarity even define it? Have you ever felt like you go over and beyond for everyone but yourself? Hahaha but the people you go over and beyond for, won’t lift a finger let alone a hand for you? Have you looked in the mirror lately and not know the person staring back? Was it a ghost or your past, present, or future? Have you ever felt like the bills weighed more than you and decided to come sit on your face bottom first so that you suffocate?

If you’ve answered yes to more than one question, well my friend, welcome to my world and what “adulting” has looked the past couple of years for me. Well I won’t waddle in defeat because what exactly does that solve?

Most of those things could’ve been managed and handled. A lot of times we set ourselves up to be mishandled, used, abused, and broke because we lack boundaries. We can point out the flaws in other individuals but neglect the personal ones that should be made. If the bills are sky high, what apart of those bills are extras instead of necessities? If grief is tearing us apart, why isn’t counseling an option? If horrible friendships keep occurring, why do we continue to go in with expectations? If you don’t recognize the person in the mirror, why is it we don’t take the time to get to know them?

Seeeeeee what I mean??? It’s all avoidable. Sure life happens but if it’s repetitive, I’m sad to say but it’s US not them. (OUCH heaux) Until we realize what the key and blueprint is to adulting for our specific lives, we’ll continue to be broken, miserable, misunderstood, rejected, and tired…. then again some of US are comfortable in our misery because being in the unknown hurts too bad…

BUT that’s the issues of the Heart…. The question is, what are you willing to do to protect yours?….

What Netflix original has caught your attention?

Recently, I found myself obsessively watching “The Crown”, yes, I just confessed my binge-watching “The Crown” to you, I had to tell someone...lol. I don’t know about you, but I know that I like to escape my reality sometimes I just want to be whisked away by a good storyline. I feel most of the time, I find myself looking for a moment where I can get caught up in watching some British show. Please don’t ask me why I like watching British TV shows. I think that I like the British accent. Secretly, I wish that I had a British accent..lol. Look at me, I’m confessing so much to you. Let me get to the point of writing this blog post. I know that you don’t have much time to read what I have to say, so you before you click off of my blog this what I’ve learned about my binge-watching “The Crown”...I realized that wanting to be absent in my own life, and focus on good storylines, isn’t always the best way to deal with wondering if God hears my prayers.

I don’t about you, but when I’m praying for something, and I don’t see it happening. I usually start focusing on other things that can distract my mind from my reality. I find myself being drawn away into watching shows about royal life. In my reality, I know that I probably won’t live a royal lifestyle, but it’s so addictive want to watch the life of royal people.

It was today that I realized that I’m getting my mind caught on things that aren’t necessarily benefiting me or the Kingdom of God. Each Sunday, I sit in the front row of my church with the idea that I want to do great things for God while I wait for God to answer my prayers. When I’m honest with myself, I’m not looking for ways to serve God and people; I’m looking for a way out of my reality.

The harsh reality of wanting to not be present in my life is a reflection of my heart. Believe me looking at the issues of my heart isn’t the best way to start off Tuesday morning. I firmly think that in order to grow daily with God, I have to be “real” with myself.

It’s so easy to focus on something else, then to focus on what God wants me to learn through my walk with him. If I’m being really honest with you, I like to be distracted sometimes. I know that you might be thinking “ Gee, that sounds bad.” I think if we’re all honest, we all want to be distracted by something, then focusing on the real issues of our heart.

I want to encourage you to take a few minutes today and look at the issues of your heart or ask God what issues in your heart are distracting you from your relationship with God. Please share with me. I would like to hear from you all.

A Heart Testimony

The ONLY thing that has kept and is keeping me sane at this point is the micro ounce of faith that I have. Time after time I've found myself constantly doing for people over and over and over and over again just because it's in my heart...... to only be left dry. I've found myself investing into others more than I've invested in myself..... only to be left emotionally drained. There were people in my life that I thought would be there until the very end (through every mood, emotion, transition, etc)...... only to find out that they were seasonal and only consistent when it benefited them...... finding myself in a lonely place... There were people I considered family and would give my kidney for to only find out that I was only their fam when it was convenient for them..... which emotionally messed me the heck up.... people looking in from the outside would swear I had everything going on for the good but here I am in Atlanta, GA and calling it home....... despite the issues of my heart, I haven’t missed a meal, I have a roof over my head, I have clothes to wear, I have income, I have a car..... I may not have everything I won’t but I have EVERYTHING that I need.... I’m crazy enough to believe that if God has kept me this far, he’s going to continue to do so.... I believe that for everyone that will possibly read this... Issues of the Heart won’t and don’t have to keep you Bound... find God and love on him.... find your peace... and WIN!!!

He is a KEEPER! He is a MIND REGULATOR! He is a HEART FIXER!

The problem about expectations is u know that they lead to disappointments but u still expect anyways. I guess i always expect the best in people which is not a bad thing, but the truth is people are forever changing & they want many chances that they don't deserve. u may tell yourself u not expecting anything from anyone but there usually is that little expectation u waiting upon from someone close to your heart.
