SEA'S COMMUNITY COMPENDIUM UPDATE
We have a massive one today! Huge thanks to a close friend of mine who sent me every single bookmark of xiv resources she had. 💖
Additionally, a good handful of these resources were sourced from a list originally created by @rinhkitty, which you can find here. I have tried to include the more recent/active of the lot, so it's not a one-for-one. Thank them for a lot of the large scale resources you'll find below! ✨
As of 04/12, I have added the following resources (in no particular order) to Sea's Community Compendium for FFXIV Creatives:
LARGE SCALE
GARLAND TOOLS — Contains XIV resources such as Garland Data, everything database, crafting lists and equipment calculators; Garland Bell, gathering timers, collectable resources and hunt windows; and FFXIV Fisher, daily fishing windows, bait paths and catch checklist. Maintained by Clorifex Ezalor of Zalera.
TEAMCRAFT — Create crafting lists and collaborate with others, set gathering alarms, simulate crafting rotations, and more!
CAT BECAME HUNGRY - FFXIV ANGLER — Contains everything and anything to know about fishing including specific fish guides, location, baits, aquarium fish and more!
FFXIV - CRAFTING AS A SERVICE — Crafting information and planning for FFXIV!
FFXIV GARDENING — The FFXIV Gardening Database is a collection of everything related to gardening in Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn. It was created to organize and visualize the results obtained from crossbreeding.
SIGHTSEEING LOG HELPER — This tool will help those trying to complete their pesky Sightseeing Log by letting them know upcoming weather patterns for each zone!
EUREKA TRACKER — For everything and anything to do with Eureka mobs, tracking and weather patterns.
FFLOGOS — for tracking of items/actions related to Eureka.
FFXIVSQUADRON — A comprehensive tool that helps you assess the success rate of various squadron missions.
FFXIV CHOCOBO COLOUR CALCULATOR — Will calculate what chocobo feed you will need to get from your current colour to your desired colour. *rng not included.
FFXIV HOUSING — A site specialising in the documentation of all housing items available in game.
HOUSING SNAP — A compilation of player-made housing designs. Can be used for inspiration or places to visit!
MISC
NPC CHAT BUBBLES — Would you like more NPC chat bubbles for edits? Say no more! Created by @alexoisxiv.
OLD TUMBLR LAYOUT BY PIXIEL — While not XIV specific I know a lot of people aren't fans of the new Tumblr layout, so this is a fix that will revert it to an as close as possible approximation of the new one. I won't tag the creator as I don't think they're in the xiv community, but it's run by @/pixiel!
HOW TO CURSE LIKE AN ISHGARDIAN — Do you want to make the church blush? Do you want to incur the wrath of Halone? @stars-and-clouds has compiled a list of appropriate curses/swear words for you!
FINAL FANTASY XIV SIDEQUEST GUIDE - HEAVENSWARD EDITION — maintained by @chatty-moogle, this guide explores interesting sidequests in Heavensward that will give you more information about the lore, titbits about locals and other interesting information!
TRUST BANNERS FOR XIV — If you have ever wondered how people mimic the Trust banners used in XIV, look no further! @locke-rinannis has a template for you.
MAKING USE OF RECOMMENDATIONS — created by @autumnslance, this guide will help you make your recommendations tab useful rather than annoying.
BOTANICA EORZEA — A guide to the flora of Eitherys and her reflections, including fungi and seedkin. For reference in writing and roleplaying. Maintained by @tinolqa.
GPOSE TIPS — A tutorial on how to achieve clarity and detail in your XIV screenshots! Created by @aryalaenkha.
UI MACRO MENUS — A guide on how to use macros to create small UI menus for XIV. Written by @diskwrite-ffxiv.
TYPHON GATE RESEARCH — Created by @mcstronghuge, these are the statistically best places for your character to stand for the Typhon Gate!
CHANGELOG
HYDAELYN HEALTH HAVEN has been removed at the request of the owner.
Moved THE BALANCE higher on the list to reflect alphabetical sorting, excluding names that start with The.
Misc formatting as needed.
Added some additional clarification around large-scale discords/spaces; in particular: Large-scale community discords such as the XIV Reddit Discord, Hunts, GPOSE promotions and broad-space roleplay servers that harbour a large number of people and are publicly available to all. These may not have an RP focus but will assist in other aspects of the game. Also includes well-known tools/resources that are utilised by large groups of people and assist in gameplay elements.
Added a quick-jump menu to the bottom of each of the table of contents menus to assist in navigation.
Want to submit? You can either fill out the google form here, send me an ask with the relevant information contained on the Compendium, or join my Discord at SEAFLOOR (21+ only)!
I am sure there's probably a couple of things I have missed or links/formatting that might be broken. Please don't hesitate to let me know if anything is out of place. I'm going to take a break now. I'm pretty sure that's the biggest edit that's ever going to occur on this document!

hobbies that you can start this new year ft hobby tracker notion template pink
Tumblr media Tumblr media
As we dive into the year, now is the ideal moment to discover new interests that bring us joy, creativity, and personal growth. Whether you want to relax, go on an adventure, or simply broaden your horizons, there is a pastime for you. Here are ten intriguing hobbies to consider for the new year:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Photography: Using a camera lens, capture the beauty of your surroundings. Whether you enjoy landscape, portrait, or macro photography, there are limitless opportunities for creativity and investigation.
Pilates: is an adaptable and efficient fitness regimen that provides a rewarding pastime option that fits into every schedule. Pilates classes, which emphasize strength, flexibility, and mindfulness, can be brief but effective, relieving stress and boosting overall well-being. In my opinion, pilates truly focuses the body in a soothing but powerful way. Overall, I like it.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Writing: allows you to express yourself creatively. Whether you're into journaling, fiction, poetry, or nonfiction. Writing is something I really enjoy doing. I've written poetry and begun a novel, but I constantly get sidetracked and fall off course, which is why I built the hobby tracker to help me focus on writing, which is one of my goals for the second quarter of the new year. Writing might be as simple as making cute notes, but it is quite fun and relaxing
DIY crafts: allow you to exhibit your creativity while also decorating your space. From knitting and crocheting to woodworking and painting, crafting is such a productive way to spend your time, and I really enjoy the sense of completing a craft; it feels very satisfying.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Learning a Musical Instrument: To channel your inner rockstar, learn to play a musical instrument. Mastering a musical instrument, whether it's the guitar, piano, or ukulele, can be both tough and incredibly rewarding, and the music itself is simply lovely.
Cooking or Baking: A lot of people see cooking as a chore but it's so relaxing, in the quiet of your kitchen or better yet with your friends just imagine baking, cleaning up, and eating with the people you love; it all sounds so relaxing and it can really help in the future in the instance you get really good and might even pursue it as a career.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Nature Walks: Walking not only provides wellness but also allows you to explore amazing landscapes and reconnect with nature. Walking is one of the most therapeutic forms of exercise because it allows you to think and connect with yourself, and it is really peaceful.
Vlogging: For me, vlogging is more of a nostalgic activity because I enjoy going back and seeing my development and what I've been up to, but your vlogs can also be shared with the world via YouTube, TikTok, or any other site. It is a very good approach to capture memories.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Collecting: collecting merch or just anything you find interesting can be considered a hobby. For example, I want to collect Archie comics because I see a lot of people collecting manga and how it fills their shelves is so cool, I want mine to be Archie comics because I just like them and it connects with my childhood self. You can collect anything really, from toys to albums; it just has to be something you love.
Ice skating: is a thrilling and graceful hobby that offers both physical and mental benefits. Whether you're gliding gracefully across the ice or perfecting your spins and jumps, ice skating provides a fun and rewarding way to stay active and express yourself. i think it is fun
A lot of times we lose track of our hobbies and sometimes they seem too much and overwhelming so here is a futional hobby tracker to keep track of your hobbies and also add anyone you might want to dive into in the future.
You can find it through the link below.
Hobby Tracker - the notion nest 's Ko-fi Shop

Maybe it's just my job breaking me down, but I'm definitely utilizing spreadsheets and trackers to my advantage in life these days.
For example counting calories and macros has actually made huge gains for me in body fat% loss and in the ability to move weights. I also track and log workouts, before I had a general idea of muscles I had hit but I'm definitely improving quicker than I have in the past.
All this being said I've never actually "tried" to do any of this. Just enjoyed the hobby of weightlifting and avoided eating "unhealthy" but obviously it's been portion size that are my problem since I gained a lot of weight once I got an office job lmao

Breakdown of a Dialog Tracking Document
Tumblr media
Here's a little overview of the Voice Over tracker template I use for tracking dialog in my games! If anyone wants to view these in action please check out this Google Sheet and make a copy for your own use.
I think this format is mostly useful for games that are smaller and/or only have some VO, I can't imagine it scales well to larger projects which might need more complex software like Articy. I use a separate 'working copy' of docs like this with additional language columns for tracking translation specifically, but this structure I find is a useful starting point for managing any kind of string-based localization or VO to your game. I do most of my writing in docs like these.
Overview
Generally I keep docs like this for my own sanity when organizing VO, and also for sending out to collaborators like localization specialists or Voice Actors who need access to this organized information. Keeping docs like this not only helps yourself during production, but also anyone else you might be working with.
You'll notice that in this doc for an unreleased game I have it broken down into 'Days' (effectively levels in the game), but in terms of Macro Structure I tend to lean towards whatever makes sense for each game. Some games I break it down by level while others might be broken down more by sequences or events - it really depends on the game you're making or how your VO will be applied.
Tumblr media
I typically have a "Guide" section to walk a user through how to use the doc (some people have never used spreadsheets before, after all!). I also often have a "Generic" section to catch dialog that doesn't fit elsewhere like character barks, noises, grunts, etc. "Data" is just isolated section for spreadsheet data like Roles and the like.
Speaker
Tumblr media
This column indicates the speaker of the line. I typically have these filterable, so that if I'm working with Voice Actors they can break it down to their line exclusively to read from the sheet directly, or if I need to only view certain actor's lines while working.
Line Key
Tumblr media
Each line is given its own key which indicates its place in the structure of the wider game, as well as relative to each other. This is vital for certain implementations like Localization/Translations, which pull from Line Keys instead of directly from the line itself. This allows the line to be changed for each language independently, the only thing linking them being this key. This also allows you to change individual lines without breaking dependencies.
I typically name keys as [Actor]_[Context]_[NumberOfLine] as a baseline.
Context
Tumblr media
This is for direction of voice actors and localization, to give people who may not have access to a build better context of the lines - especially if the lines might be confusing when viewed in a vacuum. (Note that in most cases you'll want your collaborators to have access to some kind of build to make their lives easier).
Notes
Tumblr media
Similar to context, to apply any direction for VO or additional context that may be relevant to collaborators (e.g. direction to Voice Actors, intonation notes, or elaboration for translators).
Line
Tumblr media
The content of the line itself; what the line should say!
Anyway yeah, feel free to copy this and use this how you like. I just find docs like this are super helpful for not losing your mind when it comes to planning game structure and dialog sequences. :)

Still feeling poorly. Still getting on with life as usual. I had my "curl up in my oodie, eat all the fruit and veggies with wikd abandon and whimper" day yesterday.
Back on track today. I've got a bad cold. I'm not dying!!
Tiny bit off my macros. Blame the cappuccino, lol. And I'm using psyllium husk to throw some fibre in.
MyFitnessPal uses total carbs for the percentages, so in reality those numbers will be different. I'm not so obsessive that I'm going to pay a premium subscription for any tracker to use NET carbs!
I add that lower section myself, to get the NET result.
So no, I'm not well. And yes, I'm doing what I do most of the time- carrying on regardless 😊👍
The top pics are from my latest YouTube workout. I'm just uploading it.

what do you think are the most important things to utilize if someone wanted to learn to amplify their tech-literacy/tech-using experience?
We all know about add-block and anti-tracker add-ons, I'm thinking things like using github for various things, downloading youtube vids using yt-dlp. etc. etc. Bonus points if you can drop guides/how-tos
Other examples are things you can do with word, like adding macros, etc.
Also, what are your favourite non-game programs and apps? This could be anything.
i'm hoping to get a list where lots of folks can add on so if you could reblog that would be awesome

how can i not find a single nutrition tracker that doesnt show calories or at least let you hide them. it seems like there should be a market for something that lets you track macro and micro nutrients and shit without constantly screaming at you about calories and weight. am i just crazy
everything ive found that doesnt show calories is just a "take a picture of your food to track portion sizes" style food diary which isnt helpful for what im looking for at all. i DO want to know how much protein, sugar, sodium, fiber, etc im getting, i just dont need to know how many calories it is!!!!! im not worried about calories!!

My Fitness Favourites (2024 Master Post)
This is sort of like my own master post and or an update upon my previous one on Reddit, but please remember that like all things, not everything will work for everyone. I am not a doctor or certified PT (yet!). I'm just a girl who wanted to lose weight and found a passion for all things gym and fitness related :)  With that being said, I hope that you guys find the tools that I used helpful to you, and I can not wait to see your progress <3
Apps
Here are some of the apps that I used and still use to this day to help track my fitness progress. I’ve gone through a bunch of different fitness apps and these are by far my favorites.
FitNotes
This app is super straightforward. I use it each time I go to the gym or do a home workout to track the number of sets, reps, and weights. There are no ads and it's completely free. You can also add in your own workouts and machines if you can't find what you’re doing in their list. 10 out of 10, highly recommend!
FitBod
I no longer use this app HOWEVER, if you’re just starting out I think this app would be a good place to get started. It lays out a workout plan for you based on what your goals are, and it even shows you HOW to do each workout if you’re unsure of the movements and form. I found it super helpful when I started out and I hope you do too! I will say, the free version does give you a lot, however it does have a paid plan to which I am unfamiliar.
Tabata Timer
Personally, nowadays I only use this app occasionally but if you’re not a fan of counting reps, this may be a better alternative. You can create workouts and customized times for sets, breaks, rests, etc. I like to use this for my kettlebells and mace work at home, but you can use it however you wish! Bonus points because it's also 100% free. We love free shit here lol.
MyNetDiary
Similar to MyFitnessPal, this is an app that tracks your calorie input and output. I prefer it’s interface over MyFitnessPal personally, and this is the app I used to lose 40+lbs in 2022. Along with a food scale, this is a very useful tool, and I still use it when I go into a cut. The free plan is great and it doesn't force you into a paid one. You have the option to upgrade, but its not necessary unless you really really really wanna see all of your macros besides calories, sodium, protein and carbs.
Alarmy
Sleep is probably one of the most important things for your overall mental and physical health. I used to suck at waking up early but I really really wanted to become an early bird and track my sleep. I found Alarmy and I haven’t looked back. In the free version, you can be awoken with annoying sounds and tasks to turn off your alarm, as well as track your sleep and sleep quality.
Websites
TDEE Calculator
As I said in my previous master post, a good place to start is to find out what your TDEE is (total daily energy expenditure). Basically, how many calories you burn just by being alive. You can go from there to find out how many calories you should eat depending on if you're trying to lose/gain weight, as well as protein intake on top of your desired fitness level. A very handy tool. Just plug in your current height, weight, age, and fitness level and you’ll be good to go!
Equipment / Tools
Xiaomi MiFit Band
Ima be honest, I really hated the samsung fitness watches. I went through 2 of them due to battery issues and I never even physically damaged them. I got the Xiaomi MiFit band because I was sick of paying so much money on fitness watches and this thing has the durability of a Nintendo 64 I swear. I only charge the sucker like, maybe once a week, and it gives a pretty accurate read of how many calories I burn during walking, workouts, etc. Also, the thing was like $40 or something. Ive had it over a year and the only thing I’ve had to replace was the strap (a pack of two was like $6). The strap was also my fault for breaking it lol.
Renpho Scale
Sort of a tool/app combo. The scale is around $20 on amazon and it tracks your weight (duh) as well as body composition to a fairly accurate degree. The gym I currently go to has a body composition machine and I’ve done a DexaScan in the past and the information between all of them is a close match. The app is free as well and I love it.
Adjustable Dumbbells
I love the gym, I do, but my heart will always belong to dumbbells. There is so much you can do with them from arms, legs, core, back, etc. They’re a great piece of kit and I will never stop using them. A set of adjustable dumbbells will put you back a few bucks sure, but imo, it's a worthy investment in the long run. Plus if you’re like me and you have limited space in your home, they’re a great choice.
Supplements
I wanna reiterate the fact that I am NOT a doctor lol but I'm sure everyone has seen a metric ton of influencers and PT’s recommending this or that supplement. Truly, I don’t take many and the only one I can recommend personally is Creatine. Just remember to drink water with it and you’re golden. Some people get a mildly upset stomach on it but again, that all depends on the person. I’ve personally never gotten an upset stomach with it and I take/have taken 2 types of Creatine (Monohydrate and Alkaline).
You’ll hear about a “loading phase” but you don’t have to do that if you don't want to. It's not necessary.
The only other thing I take is magnesium but that's just to help me not have hypnic jerks when I go to sleep. Literally no other reason lol.
General Advice/Tips
If you’re just starting out with your own fitness journey and begin to tell people that you’re working out, eating right, etc, you may experience some negativity from others. Once you say anything like “Im working out/losing weight!” everyone and their mother becomes a health expert. I’ve gotten people telling me to not lift weights because “Its bad for your bones!”, or “Your heart will explode eventually!”.
These are people who are just jealous and they envy your dedication to yourself. Ignore them. Misery often demands company.
You may also find lovely little messages in your dm’s from that one girl in high school who was a bully and is now shilling MLM products. Please for the love of all that is good and green on this earth, do not interact! They will send you really crappy copy and paste messages saying that they can help you on your journey with “insert snake oil product here”.
There is no magic pill, drink, juice, cleanse, detox, whatever the hell that will do the work for you. Pyramid Schemes that are the most common for this are ItWorks, JuicePlus, Herbalife, and BeachBody. Idk if Plexus is still around but still. If you’re ever unsure about anything, I would pay a visit to r/antiMLM for more info.
Diets, diets, diets are all the rage (as they are always). Guru’s telling their followers to eat only animal based because “its how our ancestors ate!” or “do x to lower your cortisol levels”, and “STAY AWAY FROM BREAD AND SEED OILS!”. Block, ignore, and unfollow.
I don’t know about you, but I absolutely fucking love bread and cheese and will turn any Olive Garden within a 20 mile radius of me into my bitch with unlimited breadsticks and pasta.
Yes, we all know certain food is healthier than others, but at the end of the day as long as you are watching what you eat, and getting your workouts in, it doesn't matter. If you want a burger then eat the burger.
In Conclusion
I could go on and on forever about anything and everything fitness related. Book recommendations, creators to follow/unfollow, routines…I love it all, I truly do. And one day I hope to become a certified PT myself, but until that day comes, I simply am not. I'm just a girl who got fit, and want to see others achieve their goals as well. I know how hard and awful the process can be, but I guarantee you that every step you take up that mountain is worth every second of the view at the top.
Movement is improvement, and as long as you keep moving, you’ll keep improving.
If you’re here reading this, then you’ve already taken step 1 and I couldn't be more proud of you. Its a hard thing to look in the mirror and say to yourself “I need to change ''. Self confrontation is often very difficult and disheartening. But where many have chosen to give up, you chose to step up. And I am so fucking thrilled that you did <3
If anyone has anything else they’d like to share in the comments about tools and what not that you’ve used, please feel free to post them! This is a safe space for all of us.
Thank you all for reading and I hope you find what I’ve written to be useful in your fitness journey. Keep up the good work.

Photo by Xer S. Rowan, Creative Commons Attribution license
I take photos for the love of photography, and I share them under a free-to-use license, as long as I am properly credited. I don't get out much, so most of the photos are of backyard wildlife, though I am trying clear out space for a small garage studio. The cement floor will let me do longer exposures, and I'd like to use that for still lifes and macro shots. I also have hopes of getting into astrophotography (I already have a simple, lightweight star tracker).
I'm disabled, with mobility issues, chronic progressive pain (likely a connective tissue disorder), and other health issues. I'm multiply neurodivergent and living on a poverty-level fixed income. If you'd like to enrich my life a little, I have wishlists for photography-related stuff and for my own wants and needs.

More than year you ask? Yep. I tried this earlier, in the BambooTracker. I done about 1/3 of all work, but, for some reason, this THING crashed, and my save just became 20 kilobytes as nothing but zeroes. Hex editor made my fear even worse. And I probably have an exported .mp3 somewhere just minutes before tracker crashed...

Character Classes
Hero. Always in the party. Can equip 75% of the equipment in the game. Generalist stats and skills except for Battle Cry, Rousing Speech, and Fuck That Guy In Particular, representing their leadership role and unifying presence on and off the battlefield.
Thief. Stats and skills emphasize speed, evasion, concealment, and deception. Cannot equip Heavy Armor or Weapons. Steal skill has a chance to take away enemy gear or supplies. Prestige Classes include Hacker, which disables enemy special abilities by hacking their gear, and Con Artist, which tricks and confuses enemies into attacking each other.
Soldier. Stats and skills emphasize damage output and damage tolerance. Can equip most body armor and firearms. Special skills include Covering Fire, which causes enemies to miss the next attack, Suppressing Fire, which stops one enemy from attacking entirely but only so long as the soldier suppresses them each turn, and Defilade, a multi-target attack that requires skipping at least one turn to set up. Prestige Classes are either Sniper (anti infantry) or Grenadier (anti armor) enemy bonuses.
War Wizard. Combat Focused Spellcaster. Stats and skills emphasize smarts and durability, but not brute strength. By default uses fire, ice, lightning, or poison. Increased combat power comes at the cost of not knowing non combat utility spells. Cannot wear heavy armor or use heavy weapons. Prestige class unlocks highest form of one elemental attack.
Occultist. Utility Spellcaster. Stats and skills emphasize intellect and wisdom but not strength or stamina. Uses Time, Gravity, and Mesmeric magic to alter battlefield conditions. Can also repair damaged gear by rewinding its timeline to before it was broken, with the Nostalgia spell. Cannot wear heavy armor or use heavy weapons. No prestige classes but can unlock Summon skill with the Phonebook Of The Gods.
Inventor. Utility Crafter. Stats and skills emphasize intellect and speed. Uses a variety of gadgets on the battlefield. Manages the crafting system. (Pilots the airship until the Hero completes the Tutorial Side Quest "Buffalo Wings" after landing at Isla Obscura.)
Survivalist. Multiclass Fighter and Wilderness Tracker. Stats and skills emphasize combat and stealth. Can equip any firearm but not heavy armor. Gets damage bonus against wild animals and undead. (Allows skipping 90% of the sidequest "Forest Dump" but this is not recommended as several unique pieces of gear are found in the forest map.) Prestige Class into Anarchist (bonus damage against enemy soldiers or police officers) or Camp Cook (unlocks crafting high tier healing items in the Mess Tent / Airship Galley.)
Chrononaut. DLC Exclusive Time Traveler. Reskinned survivalist with Time Magic themed Time Out ability that allows them to take two turns at once.
Medic. Combat Capable Healer. Provides emergency healing to other party members. Cannot equip any weapons other than knives or light pistols. Prestige Class into Surgeon (unlocks all Bladed Weapons and the Vivisect combat skill) or Paramedic (massive speed and strength boost and ability to use Jaws Of Life And Death weapon).
Dino Cavalry. Utahraptor Riding Light Dragoon. Stats comparable to Soldier class but cannot equip heavy armor. (Villain-exclusive class until Act 3.) Unofficial mascot of game and studio, appears on most promotional art.
Alchemist. Magical Healer and Utility Spellcaster. Crafts "Elixirs" at crafting stations that can then be used like spells. Primary source for magical healing. No Prestige Class but can be massively upgraded one stat at a time through the "Great Work" Side Quest.
Heavy Armor. Pilot / Driver / Gunner of Powered Armor / Macro Armor. Stats comparable to Soldier but cannot equip heavy weapons or armor; in return, are able to wear / ride advanced mechanical weapons platforms. (Can be unlocked as early as Act 2 depending on dialog choices.) Prestige Class specializes in Ground Armor or Sky Armor.
