♡ Hello! I'm not too sure if I want my name on here yet but I am 21 and Canadian! During the pandemic, my life took a real turn for the worse. my father is handicapped and I've been taking care of him since I was little. he has been in and out of the hospital for years, especially during the pandemic.

I am currently studying as a musician in university hoping to one day be a teacher! I have lost a lot of friends in the past few years to depression and it's really taken a toll on me. in October of 2021 I was hospitalized during a depressive episode that caused insomnia/stress-induced psychosis. I wanted a place where I could talk to people and feel a little less alone. :)

I have been on medication and I'm working towards getting better! but in doing so I've really isolated myself. I have recently been through a breakup that's been kinda hard as the relationship was pretty toxic and I ended up isolating myself from my friends. so I'm trying to find a community to fit into but I'm not sure where to go :"( !!

hi there, thanks for checking out my blog! my name is megan, i am 20 years old, and identify as a cis girl with she/her/hers pronouns. 

i personally use stimming as a way to help me through a life with mental illness. i have struggled with depression, anxiety, and ptsd since i was very very young. creating and viewing these boards helps me to ground myself and distract me from the chaos of what is my every day life.

i started this blog five years ago at 15 years old when i was just learning about stimming, and just learning how to use it as a coping mechanism for myself. practically overnight, my account grew thousands of followers and turned into more than i could have ever imagined.

i adore the fact that creating these boards for others may bring you same sense of peace, even if just for a moment. 

i try my hardest to keep both my asks and messages open as frequently as possible. i am always open to requests, feedback, questions, and open conversation. and i only have one rule for my blog: be kind. anybody and everybody can interact with my blog, as long as you are kind and respectful.

not to sound like a boomer, but I need some people to learn how to write emails in a semi-professional (at the very least) format so you're not cold emailing a business/potential employer/any other stranger about formal matters in the exact same way you'd DM a close friend on instagram

the formality/language can loosen up in the email chain once you've established a rapport and you match the other person if they're being less formal, but please don't have the very first email you send a stranger be written in all lowercase ultra-casual sms slang with no greeting or signature and a billion emojis

#this sounds like a 'argh kids these days doing [insert exaggerated story they don't actually do in reality]' kind of thing #except that I've gotten soooo many emails like this #there's a reason that I don't have my DMs open on any socmed and it's bc they attract people getting way too casual/parasocial immediately #and forcing people to write out an email both filters out 90% of weird impulse messages and also throws them out of that casual headspace #except that I can actively tell when this fails and someone is treating emails as if they're the same thing as DMs
