PEAKY BLINDERS - An Alternative Season 2

Tommy Shelby's desire to expand the family business leads him to meet Miss Celine, the owner of London's most famous nightclub, The Grand Dame. Her influence in the Capital is unprecedented and many from the criminal underworld to the wealthiest of men come to her with problems that only she can solve. However, after meeting Miss Celine, Tommy soon learns that she is as devious as she is beautiful and knows how to benefit from the misfortune of others, a tactic that forces the infamous gangster to join hands with her in a temporary alliance. But Celine has her own reasons for wanting a partnership with the Peaky Blinder and a secret that she wouldn't want him or anyone else finding out about, one that she would go to great lengths to keep hidden. Determined not to become a pawn in someone else's game, Tommy tries to uncover the skeletons in her closet only to realises that they're more similar than he initial perceived. This newfound knowledge soon leads to a deep friendship between the two and a blossoming romance.

Summary: Murphy's existence post-Disappearance was pretty bleak. Sure, he had his own bakery, and, yeah, he didn't have to worry about his mom's drinking anymore, or studying for math tests, but the fire that came from his hands had blistered and burned his skin beyond any repair that even the best training that any of the kids with babysitter first aid could do and had left them useless and constantly in pain. He couldn't do the baking for his store, or even wash his hair.

And then Clarke came to town!

Now, her pet aspirations were more along the lines of unicorns and chimeras and hyrdas. Cool, tough pets that a daughter of the God of War could ride into battle.

'bellarke this' 'clexa that' it's 2022 and whenever i think of josephine/gabriel and their tragic messed up love or murphy/emori (the tale of partnership being slytherin assholes together/simultaneously teaching each other real acceptance and compassion that they never had from their biological families/communities) or rellamy and becho and spacekru in general (1000000x a better found family than clarke x madi) i sob?? and octavia/diyoza raising hope together as badass military moms? octavia growing and healing through this relationship and her time on bardo? g o d they are the most underappreciated dynamics/storylines of the show and the reason i loved s5-6 so much someone pls come spiral with me

Hi! I'm super excited to see the 100 x cabin in the woods on your wip list--I remember being totally obsessed with the related gifset from last fall. Do you have any ideas for the fic version?

yes! i do think i can get away with a few character changes for the fic version— the gifset I was a bit constrained to which actor i could get clips of lol!

i think i would keep raven (the virgin), murphy (the fool) and clarke (the whore) the same. i do like the idea of raven and murphy being the “final” people and i also think it would be so fun to “flip” clarke’s personality like that— i know you haven’t seen s6 or s7 but i would kinda be channeling josephine, a character i really really loved from those seasons.

as for the scholar and athlete, i’m not totally sure. bellamy and octavia could work for sure. but i am not certain i’d use them. it might be more fun to go the clarke route and choose characters who do not really fit the templates. maybe… miller? as the scholar since he kinda gives me himbo vibes lol!!! then someone like jasper or monty for the athlete.

i think overall i’d keep it close to the movie. i don’t have any set ideas for the monster that they have attacking them— but it could be fun to have it be related to something we’ve seen in the show. also i already know i’d want josie and her father russell as the ones behind it all. again, a s6/s7 thing, but they are so perfect as the sorta twisted scientists.

How do you think Murphy feels about the fact that Clarke is dead?

At this point, I think he’s still in shock.

His first impulse is horror, but then his survivors instincts kick in, and he plays along with Josephine.

Is he playing along and planning to double cross her? Or is he playing along because he wants immortality??

That’s the question.

In episode 2, he started out bitching at her and blaming her and being an all around villainous ass, but when Clarke was in danger, he switched gears immediately and went into rescue mode, family mode. His survival mode was NOT just himself, it was all his family, and he included Clarke in his family.

HOW freaked out is Murphy by dying and “going to hell?” (we still don’t know if that was a delusion, dream, fear, or possibly reality. we don’t know what reality is on this planet and there may be another one in which hell is real idk.) And IF he’s freaked out by going to hell, because what he did was for selfish reasons, as he stated, not just that he died, but that he was a bad person who deserved to be punished….then the question is: Which is more important to him? NOT dying or NOT being worthy of punishment.

AKA: survivor vs being the good guy.

???

They’ve been building him up to be a hero for 5 seasons. BUT some people fail when confronted with their greatest fears.

BUT is Murphy’s greatest fear the torture of hell? Or is it dying alone without a family?

According to his story, it’s dying alone. NOT torture. He’s been tortured every freaking season. 1. 2. 3. 4. 5. and now 6. Arguably the character who has been tortured the most. Physically and mentally. But he’s wanted to belong every season, too. 1. 2. 3. 4. 5 AND 6.

Nope. I’m still thinking Murphy 1. Cares about Clarke as his family. and 2. Wants to redeem himself and be the good guy to keep himself from going to hell, more than he wants to double down on the evil and find eternity.

Murphy has always had the clearest moral center. Ironically. He knows what’s bad and he knows what’s good. Even when he’s bad. Even when he benefits from being bad. He could have been the prince with Jaha, but he knew Jaha was bad. And said no. This is the same kind of seduction. Do evil with me, and I’ll make you a prince. A god. Same.

Played along until he could save his people. Who at that point, was actually Emori. Who is it now? All of them. Spacekru, Clarke. Madi.

He’s loyal. but more than loyal. He’s moral. And he is not deceived by people who try to sell him a bill of goods (which is something he has over Clarke, who is often deceived by the appearance of good.)

Murphy woke up with tears in his eyes and a scream on his lips.

Which, at this point, isn’t entirely unusual. Nightmares aren’t a new thing for anyone, especially not him. He had them on the Ark and they’ve only gotten worse since then. The only thing that changed was the subject of his nightmares.

And for the past two weeks, that subject has been death.
